    Offer Details

    To o qualify for the incentive, you must open an Eastern Bank personal checking account and have two or more payroll, pension or government benefits direct deposits totaling the amounts noted in the table below post to your new checking account within the first 90 calendar days of the account opening date. 

    The amount of the incentive paid will be based on two or more qualifying direct deposits, totaling the amounts listed below, posted to your account within the first 90 calendar days of the account opening date:

    • $200 bonus: Cumulative direct deposits of $1,000-3,999.99
    • $350 bonus: Cumulative direct deposits of $4,000 or more

    Incentives for qualified accounts will be deposited into customer’s account no later than 30 calendar days after confirmation that the account has met all the requirements. No incentive will be paid if the account is closed on the date, we attempt the deposit.

    Customer will receive a 1099 form for this incentive. Please consult your tax advisor regarding the tax implications of this offer. Other qualifications and restrictions may apply.

    Eligibility

    • This offer is valid for new consumer checking account customers only. New customers are primary signers who have not had a consumer checking account with Eastern Bank or any bank merged into Eastern Bank since April 29, 2022.

    • Maintain an average daily balance of $2,500 or more for the first 90 days to receive a $500 cash bonus.

    The average daily balance calculation begins on the day of account opening, unless the account is opened on a weekend or holiday, in which case the calculation begins on the first business day after account opening. The average daily balance is the sum of the current balance at the end of each day for 90 days, divided by 90. The full amount does not need to be deposited on day one of account opening in order to be eligible for the cash offer; however, the more days that pass, higher subsequent deposits are needed to meet the average daily balance requirement.

    This is one of the better bonuses we have seen from Santander Bank for a business checking account. You will earn a $500 bonus if you keep an average balance of at least $2,500 over the first 90 days.

    One downside is that you can only open the account at a branch and branches are only located in select states. That also means that you can’t fund the opening deposit with a credit card.
