  • Antonio Brown may face up to 30 years in prison if convicted of attempted murder with gun, prosecutor says

    [ad_1]

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!

Former NFL star Antonio Brown could face up to 30 years in prison if he’s convicted of attempted murder with a gun charge, a prosecutor said Monday.

Brown was formally arraigned in Miami-Dade Circuit Court via video. His lawyer, Mark Eiglarsh, repeated that Brown already entered a not guilty plea. He was released from jail last week on a $25,000 bond and is required to wear a GPS ankle monitor.

The attempted murder charge against the Super Bowl champion carries a maximum 15-year prison sentence in many cases. But Assistant State Attorney Stephanie Cruz said that because Brown was accused of using a gun, he could face double that time because of a firearm sentencing enhancement.

The law also carries a possible 20-year minimum mandatory sentence upon conviction.

Brown, 37, is accused of grabbing a handgun from a security officer after an incident following a celebrity boxing match in Miami back in May. Brown allegedly fired two shots at a man he had gotten into a fistfight with earlier in the night, according to an arrest warrant.

The alleged victim, Zul-Qarnain Kwambe Nantambu, told investigators that one of the bullets grazed his neck.

Eiglarsh said in a previous hearing that the affidavit was mistaken and that Brown used his personal firearm and the shots were not fired at anyone. Brown had previously stated on his social media that he was defending himself from people who were trying to steal jewelry from him.

Brown arrived back in the U.S. last week from Dubai. The initial arrest warrant was issued in June.

  • Browns’ Shedeur Sanders offers blunt critique of performance in NFL debut

    [ad_1]

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!

Cleveland Browns rookie Shedeur Sanders offered a blunt critique of his own performance in Sunday’s loss to the Baltimore Ravens after being thrust into the game for an injured Dillon Gabriel.

Sanders was 4-of-16 with 47 passing yards. He was sacked twice and threw an interception. The Ravens used a Mark Andrews rushing touchdown to win the game, 23-17.

He spoke about his first pro snaps after the game.

“I don’t think I played good,” Sanders said. “I don’t think I played good at all. I think it’s a lot of things, you know, we need to look at, during the week and go and just get comfortable, even throwing routes, you know, with Jerry (Jeudy) and throwing routes with all those guys.

“So, I think that was my first ball to him all year. But other than that, I just think overall we just got to go next week and understand so then we have a week to prepare stuff I like to do.”

Sanders wasn’t receiving first-team reps in practice before getting into the game. He started the season as the third-string quarterback and moved up to QB2 when the team traded Joe Flacco to the Cincinnati Bengals.

He was asked what he thought “went right” in his performance.

“Losing isn’t something I’m comfortable with at all. So, I just got to take this one, you know, I got to take this one,” he said. “I got to decompress. I got to understand, like, you know, this really happened, you know, on my watch. I don’t like the feeling. And I know offensively, if I’m able to get out there and have an opportunity, I know that I’ll be able to take everything to a different level.

“Like I said, I still have the same confidence. I’m still me. I’ll never go anywhere. You know, just going out there, seeing daylight, that’s all I needed, you know, to see how they move out there. Playing against a great defense. You got guys from the Pro Bowl out there, so it’s like, it’s exciting to see. OK, this is what it’s like? Alright. This is what it’s like? I’m excited for it. So, you know, I just got to take this one and build on it.”

  • Keeler: Broncos, Sean Payton want to make Bo Nix’s life easier? Get Marvin Mims Jr. more touches.

    [ad_1]

If you’re going to play with your food, Sean Payton, why not make it filet mignon?

The Broncos are 6-0 this season when Marvin Mims has carried the ball at least once. They’re 11-3 in the regular season when that’s happened over the last two years. They’re 3-1 since September 2024 when Mims has received multiple carries.

It’s all hands on deck, and this ship is wading into Super Bowl waters, just like Sunshine Sean said it would.

J.K. Dobbins, your offensive MVP for Weeks 1-10, is lost for the season. You’re replacing those touches by committee from here on out. A dash of RJ Harvey. A smidgen of Jaleel McLaughlin, now your best downhill, between-the-tackles runner by default.

But might we humbly suggest replacing a pinch of Tyler Badie with more pinches of Mims out of the backfield?

Or Mims out of the slot?

    Or Mims out of anywhere?

You can fake a run game over the last seven games of the regular season. You know when you can’t fake it? Against Buffalo or Baltimore in mid-January. Even at home with 80,000 Broncomaniacs at your back, screaming to Mile High Heaven.

Parker Gabriel’s 7 thoughts after an AFC West-shaping win over K.C., including Bo Nix ‘begging’ Sean Payton to get plays called faster

“(When) I get the ball. I want to make the most out of it,” Mims told me this past summer. “That’s something I pride myself in, is being an explosive playmaker.

“So being a ‘gadget’ guy is a good thing; when someone (ESPN) tells you you’re the NFL’s best at something. It’s something that you kind of raise your ears at … but, yeah, I mean, when I see ‘gadget’ (player) I think, ‘explosive playmaker.’ Whether it’s in the return game, offense, screen game, deep pass, give me the ball. I want to make the most out of it.”

Want to make the most of what’s left of this offense after the bye? Feature more of Mims in it.

The ex-Oklahoma star appeared on 15 snaps against the Chiefs — just 24% of the offensive plays. Fullback Adam Prentice (19 snaps) got more run with the first-team offense against Kansas City than Mims, a two-time Pro Bowl return man.

Yes, some of that was choosing discretion over valor. Mims can’t scare anybody from injured reserve. He’s coming off concussion protocol.

Although by the time the Broncos take the field at Washington on Nov. 30, he’ll be four weeks removed from the ding he took against Dallas on Oct. 26.

That said, do you want to win a Super Bowl or not?

No skill player left at Payton’s disposal is as singularly explosive as Mims. And he reminded us all why against KC with another special-teams masterpiece — 101 punt return yards, a new single-game high, and the most by a Bronco since Trindon Holliday’s 121 in 2013. Mims’ 70-yard runback in the first quarter was another career best, putting the defending AFC champions on their heels at the Chiefs’ 21-yard line.

He’s averaging 11.0 yards per touch from scrimmage since he entered the league. Badie is averaging 7.0 yards. McLaughlin is averaging 4.6 yards. If you don’t want to trust your eyes, fine. Trust the math.

Payton knows how to do quirky, how to improvise when injuries wreck his best-laid plans. In New Orleans, he made Taysom Hill the archetype modern “gadget” weapon. The former BYU star became a 6-foot-2 utility piece. From 2019-2023, Hill bounced between tight end, receiver and quarterback, depending on whatever Sean had cooked up. Hill recorded five straight seasons with Payton in which he threw at least six passes, ran the ball at least 27 times, and picked up at least four receptions. Over those years, Hill averaged 456.8 passing yards, 392.6 rushing yards and 150.4 receiving yards per season.

Broncos stock report: Jahdae Barron emerges as Vance Joseph’s tight-end stopper

Payton is the NFL’s Baron Frankenstein, the mind of a mad scientist merged with Bill Parcell’s crusty soul. So why does it feel as if the only guy who can truly stop Mims with a head of steam in the open field is his own head coach?

  • Browns QB Shedeur Sanders has a rough NFL debut after relieving the injured Dillon Gabriel

    [ad_1]

CLEVELAND (AP) — Shedeur Sanders finally got the opportunity to show what he could do as an NFL quarterback.

In one half of action, the Cleveland Browns rookie showed he still faces a steep learning curve.

The highly publicized son of Deion Sanders entered with 12:43 remaining in the third quarter against the Baltimore Ravens after Cleveland announced that Dillon Gabriel was being evaluated for a concussion. Gabriel was ruled out later in the quarter.

Sanders completed his first two passes, but not much went right after that. He went 4 for 16 for 47 yards with an interception and was sacked twice, finishing with a 13.5 passer rating as the Ravens rallied for a 23-16 victory.

“I don’t think I played good at all. They gave me an opportunity. I didn’t do up to my expectations to get us a win. I have to take it on the chin,” said Sanders, who also scrambled three times for 16 yards.

With Sanders behind center, Cleveland gained 44 yards on 28 plays with four first downs in six second-half possessions, going three-and-out twice.

“We trust our guys to perform. He’s no different, you know, and playing a backup quarterback role, as we’ve talked about over the years, that’s tough to come in there, but we trust him,” coach Kevin Stefanski said. “I know there’s things that he’s going to want to do better, but that’s why we work.”

Deion Sanders, a Pro Football Hall of Famer who coached Shedeur in college at Jackson State and Colorado, was quiet on social media Sunday night after his son’s debut.

Sanders became Cleveland’s backup behind fellow rookie Gabriel after Joe Flacco was traded to the Cincinnati Bengals on Oct. 7. However, Sunday was the first time he led the huddle with the first-team offense or threw passes to Jerry Jeudy, Harold Fannin Jr. and Cedric Tillman.

“I think I have heard his cadence like two or three times. I think going out of halftime, we all got on the line, and he said his cadence and we kind of got through it,” guard Wyatt Teller said. “Again, a lot of learning, but he played his heart off, put his heart out.”

On his first snap, Sanders threw a 5-yard pass to Tillman. He completed both of his passes for 12 yards on his first drive but struggled with his footwork. He was sacked for an 11-yard loss by Ravens safety Kyle Hamilton and fumbled, with Teller recovering.

Sanders threw his first interception on his second series. On third-and-10 at the Browns 17, Ravens linebacker Kyle Van Noy got pressure up the middle and hammered Sanders as he released the ball. The throw was off target and picked off at the 30 by Nate Wiggins, who returned it 14 yards.

There was a four-series stretch where Sanders was 0 of 7 with an interception and took a sack.

After Mark Andrews’ 35-yard touchdown run with 2:31 remaining put the Ravens on top, Sanders tried to lead a tying drive. He completed a 25-yard pass to Fannin on the first play. Three plays later, he connected with Jeudy for 10 yards to the Ravens 30.

Sanders and the Browns drove to the Ravens 25 before the drive stalled. Sanders’ final pass intended for tight end David Njoku on fourth-and-5 was short as the Browns (2-8) dropped their third straight.

Sanders did take one shot at the end zone on second-and-5, but missed a throw to Isaiah Bond.

“He just kind of got thrown out there but I think he handled it well. We know what type of player he is and it was good to see him out there,” Tillman said.

Ravens coach John Harbaugh said his team didn’t deviate much from its plan when Sanders came in, although they blitzed more often in an attempt to rattle him.

“The game plan was going to be good for their offensive system and what they’re doing. We were not going to change that,” he said. “You don’t know how the quarterback’s going to look exactly, but you just have to take care of your own business.”

A fifth-round pick by the Browns after some projected him to go in the first round, Sanders was inactive for Cleveland’s first five games as the emergency third quarterback after going 17 of 29 for 152 yards and two touchdowns in two preseason games.

Sanders should get his first extensive practice with the first-team offense this week, depending on how long Gabriel remains in the concussion protocol. Stefanski said Sanders would get his first NFL start next Sunday at Las Vegas if Gabriel can’t play. Gabriel completed 7 of 10 passes for 68 yards in the first half in his sixth NFL start.

The Browns have lost three straight.

“I think it’s a lot of things, you know, we need to look at, during the week and go and just get comfortable, even throwing routes, you know, with Jerry (Jeudy) and throwing routes with all those guys,” Sanders said. “So I think that was my first ball to him all year. But other than that, I just think overall we just got to go next week and understand so then we have a week to prepare stuff I like to do.”

  • Giants rookie Abdul Carter sends cryptic message after benching

    [ad_1]

During the New York Giants first defensive series, No. 3 overall pick and former Penn State star Abdul Carter was benched for what interim head coach Mike Kafka described as a “coach’s decision.”

When pressed on the matter after the game, Kafka reiterated it was a coach’s decision and he wouldn’t get into the details that led to Carter being benched. “That was a coach’s decision. It was my decision – we’ll keep the rest of that in house,” Kafka said.

Carter, meanwhile, was also mum on the benching. “I made a mistake during the week that was detrimental to the team,” Carter said. “That was the consequence of it. Got to live with it.”

While Kafka and Carter downplayed the benching after the game, a new report emerged on Monday morning suggesting Carter was benched because he “was asleep in the team facility at the time of the walk-through,” according to Dan Duggan of The Athletic.

Carter’s tardiness at team meetings was accordingly a “trend” that fired head coach Brian Daboll let slide. The rookie linebacker saw the report from Duggan and offered some clarity. “Was not sleep, actually doing recovery. Nonetheless that’s on ME!” he said on social media before offering a more cryptic message.

“When the hate don’t work they start telling lies!” he said.

Despite the punishment, Kafka remains hopeful of Carter’s ability.

“I love Abdul and what he brings to this team,” Kafka said. “The skill set he has, this guy loves ball. I’m excited to watch him attack this week of practice and continue to work and grow and be the great player that I think he is.”

The rookie has just 23 tackles and 0.5 sacks on the season.

  • Jalin Hyatt doing himself no favors with Giants after quitting on route leading to game-ending INT | amNewYork

    [ad_1]

Nov 16, 2025; East Rutherford, New Jersey, USA; Green Bay Packers safety Xavier McKinney (29) misses an interception on pass intended for New York Giants wide receiver Jalin Hyatt (13) during the fourth quarter at MetLife Stadium. Mandatory Credit: Robert Deutsch-Imagn Images

There is a reason why New York Giants wide receiver Jalin Hyatt’s role has dwindled to almost nothing over his three professional seasons. It was never more obvious than on Sunday afternoon at MetLife Stadium with Jameis Winston and Big Blue’s offense 14 yards from punching in a game-tying touchdown against the favored Green Bay Packers.

On a 3rd-&-6 with 40 seconds to go, Winston had enough time in the pocket thanks to the brilliant work from New York’s offensive line to look for Hyatt, who had two catches for 17 yards on the day after posting just three catches for 18 yards over the first 10 games of the season.

The 24-year-old receiver was supposed to run a corner route toward the left sideline in the end zone, but only got 90% of the way there. He pulled up when he believed he was not open, and Winston’s pass that would have given him a chance to make a play had he finished his route, nestled into the arms of Packers cornerback Evan Williams.

It snuffed out the Giants’ comeback, relegating the team to a fifth-straight loss and another bitter defeat to spoil interim head coach Mike Kafka’s debut at the position following the dismissal of Brian Daboll last week and the first start for the veteran Winston, who stepped in for the concussed Jaxson Dart.

While Kafka said he had to look at the tape to decipher just went wrong on that play, Winston opted to take the high road rather than bluntly stating the obvious.

“I believe timing and execution is so important when you’re in crucial moments,” he said. “When defenses see routes, you and the receiver have to be elite in timing and execution. I believe Jalin and I, our timing and execution could have been a lot better.”

Giants legend Amani Toomer, who sits atop the franchise’s leaderboard in receptions, touchdowns, and receiving touchdowns, helped cement that Winston’s pick rested largely on Hyatt’s shoulders.

“As a corner route… in my experience, I’ve never run a corner route as an option,” Toomer said on the Giants’ postgame show on MSG Network. “If you run a corner route and the quarterback is expecting you to run a corner route, even if you’re not open, you have to run the route just to break up the pass. The reason why they’re on defense is because they can’t catch. You have to go over there and do anything to distract them from making that catch.”

Route-running issues have plagued Hyatt since he was drafted by the Giants in the third round back in 2023. His explosive-play capabilities as a speedy threat on the outside are undeniable, but the technical aspect of the passing game at the pro level has eluded him.

He went from 23 receptions for 373 yards in his rookie season to just eight catches on 19 targets in 16 games last year. This year, he has been targeted just 13 times.

Toomer was adamant that this was not all on him. For a Giants team that has gone nowhere over the last three seasons, this was the perfect time to iron out some of those growing pains.

“He hasn’t played a lot of football… those are things you learn over being on the field,” Toomer said. “He hasn’t had the opportunity to be on the field, so it’s kind of stunted his growth as a player.”

There is no indication that he will get that playing time with the Giants. Isaiah Hodgins appears to be the new WR1 for the rest of the season after leading the team with five catches and 57 yards in his team debut on Sunday. Once Darius Slayton returns from a hamstring injury to join Wan’Dale Robinson, Hyatt is at best a No. 4 receiver for the rest of the season. Once Malik Nabers is back and Schoen addresses the lack of weapons in the receiver room, there will be no place for the maligned pass-catcher.

  • Handing out 10 awards from the Eagles-Lions game

    [ad_1]

The Philadelphia Eagles won another football game on Sunday, this time against the Detroit Lions, but as usual, they gave their fans plenty to complain about in the process. As always, win, lose, or tie, we hand out 10 awards.

    1) The ‘Masterclass’ Award 🧙‍♂️: Vic Fangio

The Lions were 3 for 13 on third downs in this game, and 0 for 5 on fourth down, resulting in five turnovers on downs. Getting five stops on 4th down in one game is kinda nuts.

Fangio’s defense started to dominate teams around this time last season, and we’re seeing that trend repeat in 2025. The defensive line is getting pressure on opposing quarterbacks, the linebackers are flying to the football, and for the most part, the defensive backs are contesting catches and forcing incompletions.

In two consecutive weeks against the Packers and now the Lions, the offense didn’t do much of anything and needed the defense to pick up the slack, which they did, and then some.

    2) The ‘Brick Wall’ Award 🧱: The Eagles’ run defense

Jahmyr Gibbs and David Montgomery form arguably the best running back tandem in the NFL. They combined for 18 carries for 66 yards, or 3.7 yards per carry. As noted in our Eagles-Lions preview, if you can stop the Lions’ rushing attack, you’re probably going to beat them. The Lions are now 0-4 when they fail to rush for over 100 yards, 6-0 when they go over 100.

    Eagles  74  L

Before tonight, the Lions had gone 40 straight games scoring double-digit points.

    3) The ‘Volleyball’ Award 🏐: The Eagles’ pass breakups

Jared Goff completed just 14 passes on 37 attempts for a 37.8% completion percentage. Goff completed 72.4% of his passes in 2024, and heading into this matchup, he led the NFL with a 74.0% completion percentage.

Jordan Davis had 3 batted passes, and Jalen Carter had 2. Quinyon Mitchell and Cooper DeJean also had 2 pass breakups apiece, and Adoree’ Jackson chipped in with an important one of his own on fourth down late in the game. (Video via @DiBonaNFL)

Jameson Williams got loose for one long catch and run, and Gibbs had some electric runs after the catch, but otherwise the Eagles shut down the Lions’ potent passing attack.

    4) The ‘Bad Things Happen in Philadelphia’ Award 🕺: Amon-Ra St. Brown

St. Brown did the “Trump dance” last Sunday against the Commanders. On Sunday night, the Eagles’ secondary slapped a tariff on his ass, as he had just 2 catches on 12 targets.

    5) The ‘Thank You’ Award 🙏: Dan Campbell

Campbell had a bunch of questionable game management decisions in the first half:

    • On a night in which he went for five other fourth downs, he punted from the Eagles’ 40 yard line on a 4th and 6. He tried to draw the Eagles offsides and took a delay of game penalty when the Eagles didn’t jump. He then punted and the Eagles got the ball at their own 15 yard line, for what was essentially a 25-yard net (if you don’t count the delay penalty).

    • He ran a fake punt even though the Eagles kept their regular defensive personnel on the field instead of their special teams guys. I mean, in that situation, you either just punt it away, or call a timeout and put your offense back on the field and run a real play. What you don’t do is run a linebacker up the middle directly into Jordan Davis and Moro Ojomo.

    • When the Eagles had 1st and Goal before the end of the first half, the Lions didn’t use any of their timeouts, and were left with just 10 seconds on the clock when they got the ball back. They basically cost themselves a possession.

The Eagles have seen bad coaching performances on consecutive weeks from Matt LaFleur and Campbell.

    6) The ‘Alarming’ Award 🚨: The Eagles’ offense

For as dominant as the defense was, the game was still in question until the final seconds because the offense couldn’t get anything going whatsoever. They couldn’t run, they couldn’t pass, and they couldn’t catch. The only positive was that they didn’t turn it over.

Jalen Hurts completed 14 of 28 passes for 135 yards (4.8 YPA), and the offense as a whole gained a paltry 3.9 yards per play.

And that was despite the Lions being without three defensive back starters in Terrion Arnold, D.J. Reed, and Kerby Joseph.

Hurts force-fed 11 targets to A.J. Brown, who had 7 catches for 49 yards, and who just doesn’t look like the same player he was his first three years in Philly.

    7) The ‘Wonky’ Award 🙃: The Tush Push

The Eagles had four failed Tush Pushes Sunday night. Two were false starts, and the Lions stopped consecutive Tush Pushes on third and fourth and 1 with about three minutes to go.

The Lions are the only team on the Eagles’ schedule this season who voted not to ban the Tush Push during the 2025 offseason. “Respect,” Nick Sirianni said of the Lions for their vote, and for their ability to stop the play.

    8) The ‘What the Hell, Dude’ Award 🤨: Nick Sirianni

Last week in Green Bay, facing a 4th and 6 from the Packers’ 35 yard line, Sirianni opted to go for it, and Hurts misfired on a low percentage deep shot to A.J. Brown down the left sideline. The Packers got the ball back with 27 seconds left and only needing about 25 or so yards to get into reasonable field goal range. As it turned out, the Packers only got 18 yards, and then missed a potential game-tying field goal attempt.

A week later, Sirianni made a similarly crazy call, when he went for it on 4th and 1 from his own 29 with a 10 point lead and only three minutes to play. Normally, that type of aggressive call might be applauded, but as noted above, the Tush Push had been wonky all night, and the defense was absolutely dominating.

The Eagles failed to convert the Tush Push, and even though the defense held the Lions to a three-and-out — and a loss of 7 yards, at that — on their ensuing drive, they kicked a field goal, turning a two-score game into a one-score game.

Once again, the Eagles survived anyway, partly because of an atrocious pass interference call on the Lions’ Rock Ya-Sin.

Sirianni has developed a weird habit of making conservative calls throughout the game, and then getting wildly over-aggressive in the last two or three minutes.

    9) The ‘Tiebreaker’ Award 👔: The Rams, Buccaneers, Packers, and Lions

The Eagles aside, most would consider the other top teams in the NFC to be the Rams, Buccaneers, Packers, Lions, and Seahawks. The Eagles have beaten all of those teams except the Seahawks, who are not on their schedule this season. The Eagles have a 7-1 conference record, compared with the Seahawks’ 4-3 conference record.

Though arguably not as talented as the above teams, the Bears are also in the mix, at 7-3. The Eagles will play them at home on Black Friday. In emoji form:

    🐏: ✅
    🏴‍☠️: ✅
    🧀: ✅
    🦁: ✅
    🐻: TBD

    10) The ‘Magic Number’ Award 🪄: 4 and 7

If the Eagles are able to win four of their remaining seven games this season, they will clinch the NFC East. They only need three more wins if one of them is against the Cowboys next Sunday. The Eagles also “control their own destiny” to earn the 1 seed in the NFC. If they win out, the will get a first round bye and home field advantage throughout the playoffs.

So, you know, it’s not always pretty, but they just win. And they also beat their best competition in the conference.

  • Browns QB Shedeur Sanders sends clear message after NFL debut

    [ad_1]

The Cleveland Browns’ quarterback situation took a new turn Sunday as rookie Shedeur Sanders made his official NFL debut in a 23-16 loss to the Baltimore Ravens.

Sanders entered in the third quarter after starter Dillon Gabriel was ruled out with a concussion, giving fans the moment they had been calling for all season.

Gabriel, drafted in the third round, had started since Week 5 after Joe Flacco was benched and later traded; he completed 7-of-10 passes for 68 yards in the first half before leaving for evaluation.

Sanders, taken in the fifth round after a surprising draft slide, had not played a regular-season snap until Sunday.

After the loss, he reflected on his first real NFL playing experience.

“It was a rough day overall,” Sanders told reporters. “But the thing that I was excited about is just being able to get out there. It’s the first time I got hit since my last game at Colorado. So just having that feeling back is good… I know I’m made for it.”

“Going out there in a live game… And the way the guys, the way the whole line, running back, receivers, defense, all rallied around, that’s all you can ask for as a quarterback,” he added.

Though Sanders ignited the crowd at Huntington Bank Field after replacing Gabriel, his debut was largely underwhelming, finishing just 4-of-16 for 47 yards, with one interception and two sacks.

He completed short passes to Cedric Tillman and David Njoku, along with a deep 25-yard completion to Harrold Fannin, but also fumbled after a sack by Ravens safety Kyle Hamilton and finished the day with a 13.5 passer rating.

Gabriel’s concussion at least opens the door for Sanders to be assessed further as the team’s starter going forward, something fans have long demanded.

But at 2-8, Cleveland faces a difficult decision: Maintain stability with Gabriel (if healthy)? Or pivot to Sanders and accelerate his development in a season already slipping away?

The upcoming schedule offers little margin for error: road trips to Las Vegas and Chicago, plus home games against San Francisco, Tennessee, Buffalo, and Pittsburgh.

Each matchup will test the Browns’ ability to compete while managing a quarterback room that remains uncertain.

  • Broncos-Chiefs report card: Vance Joseph’s defense shines; Bo Nix comes up clutch again

    [ad_1]

In a game that could live for months in Denver sports memory, the Broncos outlasted the Chiefs 22-19 at Empower Field on Sunday to take pole position of the AFC West.

    OFFENSE — B

It’s been a season of stop-and-go for Bo Nix and the offense. In a notable development Sunday, the problem was often not Nix — who’s been heavily criticized for his play the last two weeks — or head coach Sean Payton, who’s been heavily criticized for his play-calling the last two weeks. Wide receiver Troy Franklin had a couple of killer drops in the first half, and Nix was sacked twice on the opening drive.

Nix was in rhythm all game, though, in an encouraging sign for the second-year quarterback’s progress. He connected on two monster deep shots to Franklin and Pat Bryant in the second half, and Nix looked poised both hanging in the pocket and on the move en route to a 295-yard day. And in a final tour de force, Nix orchestrated his fifth game-winning drive of the season with a clutch 32-yard bomb to Franklin, the deep connection finally clicking as Payton’s unit made enough plays to close a monumental win.

    DEFENSE — A-

Payton had so much deserved trust in defensive coordinator Vance Joseph’s unit on Sunday that he declined one fourth-quarter holding penalty on the Chiefs to get to a third-and-9 — even though accepting the penalty would’ve set Kansas City back to second-and-19.

That said, playing Patrick Mahomes comes with several degrees of peril. And after a banner first half, Denver’s defense started to sag in the second half. Mahomes aired out a 61-yard bomb for Tyquan Thornton in the third quarter for the longest passing play of the year against Joseph’s unit, and leveraged a rough third-and-20 defensive pass-interference call on Riley Moss for an eventual score to take the lead. But Joseph hung tough, and the Broncos came up with a massive three-and-out stop on a late Chiefs drive to hand the ball back to Payton.

    SPECIAL TEAMS — A+

A Darren Rizzi tour de force. Having Marvin Mims Jr. back after a two-game absence for a concussion certainly helped. The Broncos’ All-Pro returner whizzed for a 70-yard punt return in the first quarter to set up a field goal, and Denver’s kickoff and punt units soundly outplayed Kansas City in a key divisional matchup.

Kicker Wil Lutz went 5 of 5 on field goals and made the game-winner in another monumental day, and rookie punter Jeremy Crawshaw got his mighty leg back underneath him with two punts. And in a coaching tour de force, offensive tackle Frank Crum came up with a monumental blocked extra point in the fourth quarter to hold the Chiefs’ lead to 19-16.

    COACHING — A-

In a familiar script, Payton couldn’t get out of Payton’s own way early on, orchestrating a fantastic opening drive only to kill momentum with a flea-flicker call from RJ Harvey to Nix that nearly got picked off. And the Broncos’ offensive operation struggled enough that CBS Sports’ Tracy Wolfson reported on the game broadcast that Nix was begging Payton to get play-calls in quicker.

  • Chiefs’ Travis Kelce has words with Broncos defender during pivotal divisional matchup

    [ad_1]

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!

Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce had a heated moment with Denver Broncos defensive back Ja’Quan McMillian in the second quarter on Sunday.

Kelce brought in his second catch of the game and helped the Chiefs get a first down on a 10-yard catch. Several Broncos players were needed to bring Kelce down, including McMillian who went over the top and landed on the tight end’s chest.

As Kelce got back up, he and McMillian were in each other’s faces. Some curse words seemed to be exchanged as they went back into their respective huddles. At that time, Kelce had two catches for 14 yards but it was getting tougher for the Chiefs’ offense to get through the Broncos’ defense.

Kansas City ended the drive with a Harrison Butker field goal. The game was tied 6-6.

  • New York Jets cornerback Kris Boyd shot early Sunday, source says

    [ad_1]

(CNN) — New York Jets cornerback Kris Boyd was shot outside a New York City restaurant early Sunday morning, according to a law enforcement source briefed on the situation.

The source said Boyd was shot in the stomach and later was rushed to Bellevue Hospital.

Earlier on Sunday, the New York Police Department told CNN a 29-year-old male was in “critical but stable condition” after being transported to the hospital. The police did not mention Boyd’s name.

In a statement to CNN, the Jets said they were “aware of the situation” involving Boyd, but “will have no further comment at this time.”

New York City Mayor Eric Adams said in a message on X he was praying for Boyd and his loved ones.

“Although we’ve gotten shootings to historic lows in our city, we must continue to work to end gun violence,” Adams added. “Too many young lives have been tragically altered and cut short by this epidemic.”

According to the source, the incident happened around 2 a.m. ET outside of a restaurant on 38th Street, near 7th Avenue after a dispute escalated and two shots were fired.

No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.

The law enforcement source said two cars were spotted on a surveillance camera leaving a parking garage near the restaurant.

Both vehicles pulled over and interacted with Boyd and his group, the official told CNN.

Moments later, the gunman opened fire, striking Boyd and then sped off in one of the vehicles.

The official added investigators are expected to get access to the garage’s surveillance footage and are getting some cooperation from witnesses to the incident.

CNN has reached out to Boyd’s agent for comment.

The New York Post was first to report on the situation.

Boyd was drafted in the seventh round of the 2019 NFL Draft out of the University of Texas by the Minnesota Vikings. He has also played for the Arizona Cardinals and Houston Texans before signing with the Jets this past offseason.

In August, Boyd was placed on the injured reserve with a shoulder injury.

Jets teammates including linebacker Jermaine Johnson and defensive tackler Harrison Phillips asked for prayers for Boyd.

“Everybody please send prayers to my brother and teammate Kris Boyd and his family!!! Lord please hold your healing hand over Kris and guide him back to health and safety,” Johnson said on X.

“Lord, place your mighty hand on him as he fights lord God. Guide every doctor, nurse, and surgeon who touches him lord,” Phillips said on X. “Give his family strength! Kris is a fighter and we’re all here for him.”

  • Surveillance video shows Titans cornerback driving car minutes before alleged shooting

    [ad_1]

Surveillance video shows Tennessee Titans cornerback L’Jarius Sneed driving a Lamborghini Urus at a suburban Dallas dealership and nearby gas station minutes before two men allege that shots were fired at them from that vehicle last December.

Sneed, 28, was indicted Tuesday by a Dallas County grand jury on a misdemeanor charge of failing to report felony aggravated assault to law enforcement. The indictment does not include details of the alleged incident on Dec. 6.

In the video, Sneed can be seen getting out of the Lamborghini, then using crutches to walk past the men and up stairs into the dealership at 3:22 p.m. on that date. Sneed walks out about a minute later in the video, which was shared Thursday with The Associated Press by attorney Levi McCathern, who represents the two men in a civil lawsuit against Sneed over the shooting.

The Titans cornerback, who was on injured reserve, also can be seen in separate surveillance video at a gas station at the same time as the two men. In the video, Sneed walks in from a gas pump, goes to a register and then walks back to the same car when Christian Nshimiyimana and Avi Ahmed were inside.

Minutes later, Nshimiyimana and Ahmed say in their lawsuit that they were shot at while sitting in a Mercedes-Benz G-Wagon at the dealership. The surveillance video shows a vehicle driving past with four loud pops heard and an arm out the passenger side window at 3:42 p.m. That vehicle then speeds off.

A probable cause affidavit from the Carrollton Police Department dated Dec. 11 said Ahmed asked employees about two men he had seen earlier and that Sneed was identified as one of those men. The dealership also provided Sneed’s phone number.

Detectives also confirmed Sneed’s identity from surveillance video from several locations.

“It was apparent that Sneed was the only person they had seen getting out of and into the driver seat of the Lamborghini. He also was the last person seen getting into the driver seat at the RaceTrac (gas station) approximately eight minutes before the shooting,” according to the affidavit.

The police affidavit also noted: “Combined with the rapid acceleration away from the scene proved that Sneed knew what he was doing when assisted the shooter in fleeing the scene.”

Nshimiyimana and Ahmed allege that Sneed and another man, Tekonzae Williams, were inside the Lamborghini when the shots were fired. Williams was indicted Tuesday on a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Court records did not list an attorney for Williams.

McCathern, of McCathern Law, said Thursday his clients were pleased that Sneed and his associate were indicted.

“Hopefully, this will be the beginning of getting justice for my clients,” McCathern said. “As the video clearly shows, they are very lucky to be alive after Mr. Sneed’s actions.”

Sneed’s attorney, Michael J. Todd, did not return a message left by the AP on Thursday. Sneed’s agent had no comment Wednesday.

No people were hit by bullets, though the lawsuit says bullets did hit the Mercedes-Benz as well as a building at the car lot. The lawsuit against Sneed and Williams seeks at least $1 million in damages.

The Titans said in a statement they were aware of the “legal matter” with Sneed and are in contact with NFL security per league protocol. The statement says the team had no further comment.

Sneed was placed on injured reserve last month with a quadriceps injury, and he was in the Titans’ locker room Thursday. Players on injured reserve do not talk to reporters.

This is the second straight season the Titans have put him on injured reserve. He played only five games in 2024 after Tennessee traded with Kansas City for him, giving Sneed a contract that made him the NFL’s fifth-highest-paid cornerback at the time.

Sneed was drafted from Louisiana Tech in the fourth round in 2020 by Kansas City. He won back-to-back Super Bowls with the Chiefs in 2022 and 2023.

  • Broncos vs. Chiefs: Live updates and highlights from the NFL Week 11 game

    [ad_1]

Stick here for live updates and analysis as Denver takes on the Chiefs at Empower Field at Mile High.

    Live updates

    Pre-game updates

Scouting report (??): Check out how the Broncos match up with the Chiefs in Luca Evans’ scouting report.

    Game predictions

Parker Gabriel, Broncos reporter: Kansas City 23, Denver 21

The Broncos are 6-2 in one-score games. The Chiefs are 0-4. And yet K.C. is a 4-point road favorite against the team with the NFL’s longest home winning streak. Sean Payton will readily remind anyone listening that you are what your record says you are, but your record does not necessarily forecast what you’re expected to be going forward. The West tightens by one turn.

Luca Evans, Broncos reporter: Kansas City 24, Denver 20

This is not the week to be missing J.K. Dobbins, Pat Surtain II and Alex Singleton, who are among the 10 most important players on this Broncos roster. Kansas City is vulnerable. So is Denver, suddenly, with a rash of injuries and absences. Let’s circle back to this matchup in Week 17 on Christmas.

Troy Renck, columnist: Broncos 19, Chiefs 17

Everything screams loss for the Broncos with their injuries and the Chiefs’ urgency. But the reality is the Broncos have a path to victory. Every big game Patrick Mahomes has lost over the last few years involves a defensive line capable of making him miserable. The Broncos will get to Mahomes, and the upset hinges on creating turnovers and a short field for Bo Nix. The template is the Texans game.

Sean Keeler, columnist: Broncos 23, Chiefs 22

If Andy Reid’s 22-4 career record after a bye doesn’t scare you, this number might: The Chiefs are 14-1 in division road tilts since 2016 from Nov. 1 to the end of the regular season. That one loss? The “KC JV Game” here in Week 18 of last year. When they try, they fly. But once you get that 2015 vibe, it’s hard to let that go. With Empower rocking and the defense rolling, Mile High Magic somehow finds a way.

    Broncos-Chiefs NFL Week 11: Must-reads

Renck: Underdog? Injuries? Counted out? This is when Broncos’ Sean Payton is at his best

Sean Payton wears Jordans, Lululemon sweats, and cashes $15 million checks. But here is a little secret: He is at his best when he gets no respect. When everyone thinks he has no chance.

Such is the case Sunday against the Kansas City Chiefs. This is the biggest game in Denver since the 2015 season. What was supposed to serve as a platform to provide a definitive answer about the AFC West instead has raised an uncomfortable question.

  • In Less Than 90 Seconds, Taylor Swift Taught a Master Class in How to Handle a Tough Question

    [ad_1]

What’s the best way to respond when someone asks you a question you’d rather not answer? Especially if you’re in a very public setting? It’s a tricky situation, even more so if your answer could risk offending someone. In a recent interview on The Tonight Show, Taylor Swift gave a great example of how to handle an awkward question with grace. (This week, she also released a trailer for her upcoming Eras Tour documentary.)

Tonight Show host Jimmy Fallon decided to play a game with Swift in which he would read five internet rumors about her out loud and try to guess which one was true. One of them was this: “You turned down the Super Bowl Halftime Show because the NFL wouldn’t allow you to own your performance footage.”

Why was this a difficult question to answer in public? Bad Bunny is scheduled to perform at the next Super Bowl Halftime Show. But Swift certainly seemed like an obvious candidate for that prestige slot. Not only is she the most high-profile pop singer in the world today, she’s engaged to Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce. Her romance with Kelce and her appearance at Chiefs games has managed to increase the popularity of this already beloved sport.

The NFL would love to have her.

The NFL has made its love of Swift known. “We would always love to have Taylor play. She is a special, special talent, and obviously she would be welcome at any time,” NFL commissioner Roger Goodell said on the Today Show at the beginning of this season. Pressed on the question of whether a halftime Swift show was in the works, he allowed that the answer was “maybe.”

According to gossip columnist and former OK! magazine editor Rob Shuter, negotiations fell apart because the NFL and Swift could not agree on some basic demands. First, Swift wanted to be paid for her performance; the NFL doesn’t pay its halftime headliners. Second, Swift wanted ownership rights to her performance which the NFL insisted on keeping. And third, she wanted the right to promote her own projects during the show which the league does not allow.

Who provided that information? We don’t know. Shuter quoted an unnamed music executive and “insider” as a source for the item. Swift gave a completely different answer. It was less than 90 seconds long, and it was a whole lesson in diplomacy. “Jay-Z has always been very good to me,” she said. (Jay-Z’s company, Roc Nation, brings in Super Bowl Halftime artists.) She said that his team had occasionally asked her team how she would feel about performing at the Super Bowl. “That’s not, like, an official offer a conference room conversation,” she said.

“I am in love with a guy who does that sport.”

And she said she’d always given the same truthful response. “I am in love with a guy who does that sport. And that is violent chess, that is gladiators without swords, that is dangerous,” she explained. “The whole season, I am locked in on what that man is doing on the field. Can you imagine if, like, he’s out there every single week putting his life on the line, doing this very dangerous, very high-pressure, high intensity sport–and I’m like, ‘I wonder what my choreo should be?’”

She added that her refusal had nothing to do with Kelce’s wishes. “He would love for me to do it,” she said.

It was a sweet answer. But did it really make sense? After all, entertainers have a long tradition of entertaining troops during wartime. They don’t see their performances as inappropriate in a setting where people’s lives are at risk. They consider it a privilege, and a way to support those troops.

I’m not inside Swift’s head, so I can’t guess whether that answer was the truth and Shuter’s insider source was wrong, or whether the source was right and Swift turned the Super Bowl down because she didn’t like what they were offering. But either way, just consider what a smart response it was, and what it accomplished.

    1. She showed great respect for the sport and for Kelce.

She didn’t question whether it was right for football players to risk injury and even death on the field. She honored the sport by comparing it to gladiator battles and to chess. She honored Kelce by suggesting that what he does on the field is more consequential than any performance she might put on. But in fact, football games and concert performances are two different forms of entertainment, each important in its own way.

    2. She shut down the possibility of a future show.

Of course, Swift can’t control what rumors or speculations there are about her. But if she had said that the NFL hadn’t made her the right kind of offer yet, that would have gotten everyone wondering if she might play the Super Bowl in 2027. Instead, she said refused to commit to a halftime show because Kelce might be on the field that day. That means that for as long as he stays in the NFL, Swift would not consider a halftime show.

    3. She gave a very human response.

Part of Swift’s appeal is that she always seems like a real person, even when she’s dancing on a giant stage in a huge stadium, covered in sequins from head to toe. Her answer was in keeping with this side of her. It suggested that worry for Kelce would prevent her from properly focusing on her own performance. That showed vulnerability. It was also sweetly human.

Next time you have to answer a tough question in a high pressure setting, consider the elements of Swift’s response to that Super Bowl gossip. It was respectful and caring. It was the opposite of self-aggrandizing and showed her as a human being. At the same time, it was unambivalent. Bring those qualities to your own response, and you’ll do just fine.

And in case you’re wondering, here are the other internet rumors Fallon listed:

“In your speech at Selena Gomez’s wedding, you joked that Selena beat you to the altar.” Swift said that she did give a speech at Gomez’s wedding. But because it was Gomez’s day, she made a point of not mentioning her own engagement.

“Travis Kelce can be heard harmonizing on ‘Opalite.’” No he isn’t, Swift said.

“You’ve been spotted walking a mystery dog in Florida.” Swift, a known cat fanatic, said she had not walked a dog in Florida, or maybe ever.

“Your close friend Ed Sheeran learned about your engagement like everyone else did, on Instagram.” This was the rumor that turned out to be true. Though the two are close, she neglected to contact him before posting the news to social media. But, she said, “I have the perfect explanation. He doesn’t have a phone!”

  • Seattle Seahawks legends, Tacoma organizations team up for Thanksgiving turkey drive

    [ad_1]

The holidays are a time for giving and on Saturday Coordinated Care, The R.I.S.E Center and Seahawks legends teamed up with other community organizations for a Thanksgiving turkey drive and to provide a holiday meal for families in Tacoma.

“We’ve seen such high need with food, particularly with the recent government shutdown. It’s really been impacting people’s ability to put food on the table, and we believe at Coordinated Care that food is foundational to health, and you can’t be healthy if you’re hungry,” Andrea Davis, Vice President of External Affairs for Coordinated Care said.

More than 300 hot meals were served, and 250 turkeys were given to families in need.

“It takes a community to do this, and it’s the community that’s doing the work, so even through the trying times, through our communities, if we stick together, we can make anything happen,” Calvin Noel, Outreach Supervisor at the Brotherhood Rise Center said.

Members with Coordinated Care, R.I.S.E. Center, and Seattle Seahawks legends came together to serve meals to the community at a Thanksgiving event on Saturday, November 15, 2025 in Tacoma

Former Seahawks player and Pro Football Hall of Famer, Walter Jones, was among those volunteering and helping serve food. He told FOX 13, it was a great opportunity for the community to come together and give back.

“When I was growing up and things started happening for me, my mom would always say ‘you’ve been blessed, and your blessing is to give back,’ so anytime you can do that…. I think it’s an amazing thing to come back and give back to the community,” Jones said.

Those who attended also received warm blankets and clothing.

“The energy is good, the people love it, we’re happy to see the people and serve the people,” Noel said.

The next turkey drive is scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 18 at the Tacoma Dome.

“At the holidays, food brings families together and so it’s really important to help families out in this time of need,” Davis said.
