    Much of Minnesota is waking up to cloudy conditions on Saturday, and they’ll stick around for most of the day. Overnight rain will linger during the morning, but should clear out by noon. 

    Expect high temperatures in the mid-50s, which is around average. 

    For the second half of the weekend, expect a mostly sunny sky and high temperatures either at or near 60 degrees. However, Sunday will be windier, and gusts will reach up to 30 miles an hour.  

    More rain is expected to arrive in western Minnesota late Monday, and the metro area is expected to see the same system on Tuesday morning. Expect a rainy start to Wednesday, but the rest of the week is looking clear. 

    Temperatures will also be seasonable this week, with highs in the low 50s.

  • Mild Friday night on tap with rain possible early Saturday morning

    Friday night football games should be dry with temperatures in the 40s.

    Scattered light showers will develop around midnight and linger through the morning hours of Saturday. 

    The weekend will be dry following the early Saturday morning rain, with high temperatures between the mid-50s and low 60s, and lows in the low-to-mid-40s. 

    Light showers are possible on Monday and Tuesday in western Minnesota. The second half of next week looks seasonable and dry, with high temperatures in the low-to-mid-50s.

    Freeze warnings were in effect until 9 a.m. Friday for the southeastern part of Minnesota, as temperatures were forecasted to be in the 20s and 30s.

  • Frosty end to work week in Twin Cities ahead of weekend warmth

    Thursday and Friday mornings will be cold with frost and freeze likely, but the next several days warm up.

    The Twin Cities will stay dry until Monday, so it is all about the feel of things.

    Temperatures fall to near freezing and below across much of Minnesota and western Wisconsin. The metro will then warm to the low 50s on Thursday.

    Expect another cold, frosty and freezing start Friday morning before the metro warms to near 60 degrees under a sunny sky.

    It gets even warmer this weekend with highs rising into the low 60s.

    After a dry weekend, we get another taste of rain on Monday into Tuesday.

    The weekend will start quietly and comfortably, with temperatures again reaching above average across Minnesota and Wisconsin. 

    A light rain shower will be possible Saturday afternoon due to a cold front moving through, but most of the day should be dry. High temperatures will reach the mid-60s, and tonight’s low will be in the 40s. 

    Meanwhile, Sunday will be sunny for those looking to tailgate ahead of the Vikings game, and temperatures will be near 60 degrees. 

    However, next week should be another active one, as a system will bring wind and scattered showers on Monday and Tuesday.

    That same system will bring high temperatures down to the 50s, and the coolest low temperatures are expected to be in the 30s on Wednesday morning, even in the Twin Cities metro area.

  • Clear, calm and sunny start to the weekend

    Saturday is shaping up to be beautiful, and a #Top10Wx Day has been declared across much of Minnesota and Wisconsin. 

    High pressure sitting over the region means it will be clear, calm and sunny all day. Although temperatures were a bit chilly during the morning, they’re expected to reach the upper 60s by Saturday afternoon. 

    By Saturday night, gusty winds will blow in some clouds ahead of a stronger system that will push through the region on Sunday. 

    Expect off-and-on rain showers for the second half of the weekend, with up to a quarter of an inch of precipitation expected for some parts of the state. Winds will also be more noticeable, with gusts reaching up to 35 miles an hour.

    The start of the work is expected to be calmer, and rain is expected to wrap up by Monday morning. High temperatures will drop again throughout the week, but will stay near 60 degrees.

    Frost is possible in communities north and east of the Twin Cities, namely in Anoka, Sherburne and Washington counties.

    Every day this week will be increasingly mild, starting with highs in the mid-60s on Tuesday and ending with the mid-70s this weekend.

    Mostly sunny skies will rule, except for a few clouds from time to time on Thursday and Friday.

    Sunday may feature the best chance for widespread, albeit light, soaking showers the metro has had in weeks.

    With mainly sunny conditions across the region on Saturday and winds coming from the south, expect more unseasonably warm temperatures to start the weekend. 

    High temperatures are expected to be anywhere between 20 and 25 degrees above average, with the forecasted high temperature being close to 90 degrees. Average high temperatures this time of year are around 65 degrees.

    Saturday’s record high temperature is 89 degrees. If 90 is reached, it will be the fourth October day on record to do so. 

    Winds will be gusting anywhere between 30 and 40 miles an hour all weekend. 

    Runners in the Twin Cities Marathon on Sunday should expect temperatures to be in the 70s at the start of the race. Afternoon high temperatures will be in the 80s. 

    A sprinkle or rain shower is possible on Sunday afternoon due to a passing cold front, but precipitation chances are small. Any rain that falls will likely be after 3 p.m. in the metro, but far northwest Minnesota could see some rain during the morning hours. 

    However, that same front will bring winds out of the northwest, and with that, more seasonable temperatures. High temperatures at the start of the work week will be in the 60s, and lows in the 40s.
