    When it comes to memorable moments, the MTV VMAs has the market cornered. Every year, the VMAs give us an essential new piece of pop culture history.     This year, we expect all the drama and flair that usually comes with the VMAs, but our eyes are turned to something else: the beauty looks.     Every year the the VMAs, celebrities take chances with their hair, makeup, and nails, and that’s what makes it one of our favorite nights. Last year alone, Taylor Swift showed up with face jewels on, Lil Nas X sported blue-toned eyes, and Chloë Bailey had 3-dimensional nails.     Last week, we were all treated to the most anticipated television appearance of the year. For one episode only, Kim Cattrall reprised her role as the widely beloved Samantha Jones in the season two finale of And Just Like That. The cameo only lasted for 74 seconds (and it’s rumored that Cattrall was paid over $1 million for her time) but it gave audiences something they’ve desperately been missing: her signature Samantha Jones flair. 

    With that came the return of Patricia Field, the iconic stylist who outfitted the characters in the original Sex and the City. Cattrall also brought along her makeup artist, Kyra Panchenko, who created a glam look worthy of Samantha.

    Cattrall sported smoky eyes, glossy lips, and glowing skin for her return. For someone who famously doesn’t want to be in a situation for even an hour where she’s not enjoying herself, she certainly made the most of her 74 seconds on-screen.     As an avid beauty lover, I personally can’t get enough of the slew of “get ready with me” videos that she’s posted to her newly minted TikTok account. The videos she posts of herself doing her makeup are extremely satisfying and even, at times, oddly relatable—she uses her fingers! Perhaps the best part, however, of Richie’s GRWM glam moments is her loyalty to specific products. Richie has clearly found the makeup that works for her, and she sticks to her favorite products. 

    While her makeup routine is full of products from high-end brands like Dior and Chanel, there’s one product she reaches for that’s been a drugstore staple for years.     “We created a soft monochromatic look inspired by the silk roses in the gown,” celebrity makeup artist, Raoúl Alejandre, shared in a press release. “Draping has been a staple in my beauty work for some time, but I went a step further to create a fresh take on my technique by working with iridescent and satin pastel tones to create a highlighted fresh look. This technique creates an inverted sculpted effect. I pared the romantic pastel eyes with a mod spikey top and bottom lash. The lip was also carefully thought out and rather than going for a cool tone we decided to clash and finish off the look with a neutral liner and a peachy centered lip for warmth.”
