  • Broncos erase 19-point deficit to shock Giants behind Bo Nix’s 4 touchdowns

    The Denver Broncos were punched in the mouth, but they were never knocked out.

    Second-year quarterback Bo Nix led Denver to a 33-point fourth quarter and guided the Broncos on a 19-point comeback victory to shock the New York Giants, 33-32, on Sunday.

    It felt like the Giants had the Broncos figured out for most of the game. The front seven was continuously getting their hands up to block Nix’s passes. The highly touted defense was making silly mistakes, which led to New York jumping out to a massive lead.

    The fourth quarter completely turned the game on its head.

    Nix started the fourth quarter finishing an eight-play, 78-yard touchdown drive that led to a Tony Franklin touchdown on a tipped pass. The Giants responded with a Jaxson Dart touchdown to Theo Johnson, who also caught a ricocheted ball off the hands of Wan’Dale Robinson.

    But Nix followed up with a 13-play, 74-yard drive that ended with a Nix rushing touchdown. Denver was down 10 points with 5:13 left in the game. The Broncos needed to force a mistake on defense and they got their wish. Justin Strnad intercepted Dart and got Denver into scoring position again.

    COMMANDERS’ JAYDEN DANIELS SUFFERS HAMSTRING INJURY VS COWBOYS

    Four plays later, Nix found RJ Harvey for a 2-yard touchdown pass to cut the deficit to three points. The Broncos forced the Giants to go three-and-out and it would result in Nix running for an 18-yard touchdown to take the lead.

    Dart fired back with a seven-play, 65-yard drive that ended with a touchdown run on the goal line. He implored his teammates to go win the game, but the Giants’ defense failed to make any semblance of a defensive stop.

    Nix found Marvin Mims Jr. and Courtland Sutton quickly to move the ball up the field. He was able to set up a Will Lutz 39-yard game-winning field goal.

    It was truly a miracle at Mile High.

    Nix was 27-of-50 with 279 passing yards, two touchdown passes and two rushing touchdowns. Sutton finished with six catches for 87 yards. Mims had six catches for 85 yards.

    Dart was 15-of-33 with 283 passing yards, three touchdown passes and a rushing touchdown. The Broncos defense mostly kept him from scrambling out of the pocket. The loss was more demoralizing than being held to just 11 rushing yards.

  • Za’Darius Smith abruptly retires after 5 games with the Eagles

    PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Za’Darius Smith abruptly announced his retirement Monday, five games into his eighth NFL season and first with the Philadelphia Eagles.

    The 33-year-old pass rusher called it a career in a post on Instagram. The Eagles lost Thursday night at the New York Giants to fall to 4-2 and play at Minnesota on Sunday.

    Smith signed with the reigning Super Bowl champions the day after their Week 1 win against Dallas. He spent last season with Cleveland and Detroit.

    “As I step into the newest season of my life, please know this game has meant the world to me,” Smith said. “The lessons learned on and off the field will stay with me forever.”

    Smith was a three-time Pro Bowl selection, in 2019 and ’20 with Green Bay and again in 2022 with Minnesota. He had 10 tackles in five games with the Eagles.

  • A Blown Chance To Get Back In The Saddle. – Philadelphia Sports Nation

    You’d think the Eagles would’ve taken things personally after coming up short to the Denver Broncos at home. Losing 21-17 in Week 5. A short week that would see their second NFC East match of the season, against a 1-4 Giants squad that just struggled to keep a close game against the New Orleans Saints. The opportunity to go 5-1 was right in front of them.

    And then disaster struck. 

    Injuries On Injuries On Injuries 

    Jalen Carter was held out of Thursdays game as a precaution. An unfortunate pre-game loss but it shouldn’t have been as detrimental to the team as it was. Hopefully the Week 7 injury report comes with good news for his availability against Minnesota. 

    Add on top of that a Quinyon Mitchell hamstring injury held him out for the remainder of the game (we’re still waiting on an update for Week 7). 

    With Landon Dickerson finally being given much needed time off to recover from a plethora of injuries. The Eagles aren’t looking as healthy as they did for last seasons run.

    Another Week Of Sloppy Offense

    The Eagles can’t seem to pick which quarter they struggle the most in. From 3 points in the 2nd half of week 1. 7 points in the first half against the Rams, and only 7 points in the 2nd half against the Buccaneers and Broncos. The Eagles were shutout against the Giants and were picked off the first time in the 4th quarter of Week 6.

    If the Eagles plan on winning more games, they’ll need to get the offense in a more consistent rhythm that is able to score more than 17 points against some of the best (and worst) defenses. 

    A Weekend Of Successful Hate Watches.

    While the Eagles dropped an important division game against a bottom feeder Giants team. That didn’t stop more teams in the NFC from also having very unfortunate ends to their Week 6 matches.

    • The Cowboys fell to 2-3-1 as Rico Dowdle stacked up 239 total yards against his former team. 
    • The 49ers(4-2)lost their 2nd game to the Buccaneers(5-1), but both teams racked up more injuries, including Fred Warner & Emeka Egbuka. 
    • The unstoppable Lions were held to only 17 points to a Chiefs team that started the year 0-2. 
    • The Bears struggled to take down the Commanders, but a late 4th Quarter fumble gave the Bears the opportunity to come out on top. 

    After a very long week being disappointed in an Eagles loss. They still finish Week 6 atop the NFC East with a 1 game lead on the Commanders. 

    Perhaps things aren’t that bad after all?

  • A Second Half Gap – Philadelphia Sports Nation

    For Eagles fans — one of the NFL’s oldest franchises might be identified as the Dallas Cowboys — but you’d be hard pressed to find a matchup with as many great memories as the Eagles and Giants since 1933. Last evening — in the autumn chill of October — was not one of them.

    From a 56–0 thrashing at the hands of New York in their first ever game at the Polo Grounds to multiple Miracles at the Meadowlands — the matchup has always been Epic. It’s been fifteen years since DeSean Jackson returned a Giants punt 65-yards to win the game and silence New York fans. While many of us were all waiting for an incredible comeback in order tto overcome the seventeen-point deficit — it never happened.

    On that crisp Thursday night in New York — the Eagles faced yet another young quarterback in Jaxson Dart. In the early going the Eagles offense looked rejuvenated with both a Tush-Push touchdown and also a Hurts to Goedert 3-yard score. But shortly thereafter are where the Eagles highlight’s ended.

    Trailing 20–17 at halftime — the Eagles looked listless the second half. The defense — struggling with the loss of Quinyon Mitchell in the first half — surrendered two Bo Skattebo touchdowns. The Eagles did appear to capture momentum in the 4th quarter only to lose it with the combination of an AJ Dillon fumble and a Jalen Hurts interception returned by Giants DB Cordale Flott and was returned 68-yards.

    The Eagles also squandered a good first half of offensive football to lose with a poor second half for the second game in a row.

  • Brian Daboll issues apology for meltdown with team doctor

    New York Giants head coach Brian Daboll was in a better mood following his team’s 34-17 win over the Philadelphia Eagles on “Thursday Night Football” than he was in the third quarter when quarterback Jaxson Dart was in the medical tent for a concussion evaluation.

    Amazon Prime broadcast cameras showed Daboll appearing to panic with a team doctor on the sideline after he watched an errant pass from backup quarterback Russell Wilson hit the turf, bringing an end to a 48-yard drive.

    Following the game, Daboll told reporters that he apologized to the team doctor, explaining that he had become heated in the moment during a pressure-packed situation. Daboll was apparently considering going for it on 4th-and-9 from the Philadelphia 42-yard line before ultimately deciding to bring out the punting unit.

    “If you’ve ever been on an NFL sideline, there’s a lot of emotions,” Daboll said, via Pro Football Talk. “There’s a lot of emotions. And I certainly am an emotional guy. I apologized directly to our team physician… But I wanted the process — like, we were getting ready to go for it on a potential fourth down.

    “I would have burned a timeout if he could have came out there. So I was asking how long is it gonna take?”

    Dart didn’t exit the medical tent in time to save the drive, but he did return in the fourth quarter. The rookie helped lead a three-play, 23-yard drive that ended in running back Cam Skattebo’s third touchdown of the night to put the Giants up 34-17.

    In his third career start, Dart finished 17-of-25 passing for 195 yards and one touchdown. The Giants will enter Week 7 with a 2-4 record before traveling to play the Denver Broncos on Oct. 19.

  • Spencer Rattler secures first career NFL win after 11 starts as Saints beat Giants at home

    It took 11 games, but New Orleans Saints quarterback Spencer Rattler finally earned his first career win in the NFL.

    Rattler had been in several close games with the Saints but hadn’t been able to come away with that winning feeling — until the New York Giants came into the Caesars Superdome on Sunday. The Giants were fresh off their first win of the season and the first of Jaxson Dart’s young career in Week 4.

    Rattler, however, didn’t let New York’s momentum last long, leading the Saints to a 26-14 win that saw the defense play a major role in the effort.

    Rattler went 20-of-30 for 225 yards, including an 87-yard touchdown pass to wide receiver Rasheed Shaheed that brought the Saints back into the game after the Giants opened with two touchdown drives capped by passes to tight end Theo Johnson.

    Shaheed’s touchdown cut the Giants’ lead to 14-13, but after New Orleans kicker Blake Grupe missed a field goal, it appeared momentum might swing back to the Giants. That changed when Dart’s pass to Darius Slayton resulted in a fumble as New York crossed into Saints territory.

    After the Saints recovered the fumble, Grupe converted a field goal to end the half, and New Orleans never looked back.

    The second half was a nightmare for the Giants’ offense, as four straight drives ended in turnovers. It began with Dart simply dropping the football for a fumble. On the next drive, running back Cam Skattebo also fumbled, and Jordan Howden returned it for a touchdown to push the Saints’ lead to 26-14.

    Dart threw a pair of interceptions while trying to rally the Giants, but his efforts only led to more frustration.

    While Rattler finally got his first win, head coach Kellen Moore also picked up his first career victory in his new role. Both teams are now 1-4 through five weeks.

  • Eagles’ Next Four Weeks Could Define Their Season – Philadelphia Sports Nation

    The Buffalo Bills and Philadelphia Eagles are the NFL’s last two undefeated teams. Coming off a Super Bowl title and three consecutive challenging opponents, the Birds should feel good about where they’re at. But four down-to-the-wire victories are reminiscent of the team’s 2023 campaign—one where they dropped six of their last seven contests.

    Perhaps the first quarter of the season was just them figuring things out against some tough competition. They came out unscathed, but they didn’t look dominant. Their next four weeks of football could define what they really are: a pretender or the same team that won the Super Bowl in February.

    Inconsistency Has Defined Eagles’ Early Season

    In 2023, the Eagles almost never looked like a complete, Super Bowl-contending team. In 2025, they’ve had some stints where they have. But the difference between their highs and lows has been drastic.

    Take Weeks 3 and 4, versus the Los Angeles Rams and Tampa Bay Buccaneers, respectively. In the second half against the Rams and the first half against the Buccaneers, Philadelphia was fantastic. They had a plus-37 point differential, and quarterback Jalen Hurts posted some elite stats: 32 of 40 passing (80%), 401 total yards, five touchdowns, zero interceptions.

    Then, you have the first half versus the Rams and the second half against the Buccaneers: a minus-24 point differential. Again, the Birds have had their highs and lows—oftentimes within the same game.

    Can they eliminate those lows between Weeks 5 and 8?

    Why Are Eagles’ Weeks 5–8 Important?

    The Eagles’ schedule is as follows: vs. Denver Broncos, at New York Giants, at Minnesota Vikings, vs. New York Giants. Then, they have a bye week.

    These games are important for a couple of reasons. First, they’re winnable. The Broncos are the best of the bunch, but they sit 2–2 with zero 30-point games. At Lincoln Financial Field, it’s a good opportunity for the Birds’ defense to take charge and the offense to beat a tough opponent.

    The Giants are, of course, a bottom-feeder. But they’re also a confidence-booster. Philadelphia hadn’t won a game by double digits since Week 7 against the Miami Dolphins in 2023, then they played New York in Week 7 last season and ended the drought. From that point on, the Birds were a wagon.

    Minnesota is also 2–2. Like Denver, they have a tough defense but a beatable offense. The Birds have the upside to run up the score against them, even though it’s a road matchup. If they can, it shows that they aren’t a pretender—schooling a gritty wildcard-caliber team isn’t easy.

    These games aren’t important just because the opponents are a little bit weaker on paper. They’re important because Weeks 5–8 are when you’d expect the team to “figure it out.” As mentioned, that didn’t happen last season until about Week 7, the Birds’ first double-digit win in 364 days. The same might be true in 2025.

    Weeks 5–8 will be pivotal for the Eagles. They could show whether the Birds are legit, truly finding their groove, or whether they’re a pretender, struggling against wildcard-at-best squads.

  • Giants wide receiver Malik Nabers out for season with torn ACL: Report

    The worst has been confirmed for Malik Nabers.

    The New York Giants‘ star receiver reportedly will miss the rest of the season after an MRI confirmed he suffered a torn ACL.

    ESPN’s Adam Schefter and NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported the news Monday.

    Nabers was injured on a non-contact play in the second quarter of Sunday’s victory over the Los Angeles Chargers. While beginning to jump for a deep pass from rookie Jaxson Dart, Nabers stumbled on his lift-off and came down in what appeared to be serious pain.

    Nabers had two catches for 20 yards prior to the injury.

    Head coach Brian Daboll did not offer much of an update after the game, but reports emerged later Sunday that Nabers had likely torn his ACL.

    The second-year wideout was one of the few bright spots for the Giants in his rookie season, with 109 receptions, 1,204 yards and seven touchdowns. He’ll now finish the 2025 season with 18 receptions for 270 yards and two touchdowns in four games.

    Despite Nabers’ injury, the Giants held on for their first win of the season in Week 4 behind Dart making his first start.

    The team heads to New Orleans next for a Sunday matchup with the Saints in Week 5 as receivers Wan’Dale Robinson, Darius Slayton and Jalin Hyatt look to step up for Nabers.

    They then have a quick turnaround in Week 6, hosting the Philadelphia Eagles on Thursday Night Football.

  • Injured Giants WR Malik Nabers Gets Clear Message From Odell Beckham Jr.

    The New York Giants recorded their first win of the 2025 NFL season in Week 4, taking down the previously unbeaten Los Angeles Chargers 21-18 on Sunday.

    Unfortunately for the Giants, this win was marred by a devastating injury for superstar second-year wide receiver Malik Nabers.

    Nabers suffered an apparent knee injury on a contested catch attempt in the second quarter and was carted off the field at MetLife Stadium. Upon initial evaluation, the 22-year-old pass-catcher is believed to have suffered a torn ACL — an injury that would keep him out for the remainder of the Giants’ 2025 season.

    Nabers will undergo MRI testing to determine the severity of his injury on Monday, but hopes aren’t high for good news.

    Former Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. appears to be heartbroken for Nabers, as he took to social media to send his condolences to the Pro Bowl wideout.

    “My heart hurts for ya 1!!!!” Beckham wrote on social media after the injury.

    Like Nabers, Beckham played college football for the LSU Tigers, and like Nabers, Beckham began his NFL career as a first-round draft pick for the Giants.

    Beckham suffered two season-ending ACL tears during his NFL career. The first came with the Cleveland Browns in 2020, and the second during his Super Bowl LVI victory with the Los Angeles Rams in 2022.

    Nabers reeled in 109 catches for 1,204 yards and seven touchdowns through 15 games in his rookie season with the Giants. Beckham finished his rookie campaign with 91 catches for 1,305 yards and 12 touchdowns through 12 games.

    The Giants are now 1-3 and facing the prospect of playing their remaining 13 games without their best player. Head coach Brian Daboll feels for Nabers after this injury, but he’s ready to keep pushing forward after Sunday’s win.

    “Unfortunately this is a business of injury,” Daboll said during his postgame press conference. “I feel terrible for Malik’s injury, we’ll see where it’s at. He’s an important piece of our team… It’s next man up.”

    The Giants will matchup against the New Orleans Saints in Week 5.

  • Giants’ Cam Skattebo Admits Cheat Day Ritual is ‘Bad’

    Cam Skattebo is quickly becoming a fan favorite for the New York Giants with his physical running style and how he plays the game with a reckless abandon.

    In the team’s last game against the Kansas City Chiefs, he finished with 121 yards and was the only player who had a standout performance.

    To be that type of athlete, you have to take care of your body. One of the biggest areas an NFL player does this is by following a strict nutrition plan.

    While Skattebo does that for much of the time, that doesn’t mean he is perfect and he enjoys a cheat day every once in a while.

    When asked about his cheat day, Skattebo said that he doesn’t have a real meal on those days, and said that it is bad.

    “Oh it’s bad,” Skattebo said at a Fanatics event. “I’ll say, probably three quarters of a pound of candy. This is a bad cheat day. A lot of candy. A lot of chips and some soda. I don’t really eat real meals. I just hop on the game and snack. Just one day every couple of weeks.”

    While his coaches and team nutritionists may not love hearing that, it is just another example of Skattebo connecting with fans. Everybody loves a good cheat day.

    Some of the best athletes to play in sports over the past few decades have had some crazy food habits. Guys like Dwight Howard, Derrick Rose and D.K. Metcalf are all sensational athletes who haven’t been scared to admit how much they love candy.

    There hasn’t been a ton for Giants fans to cheer for in the first three weeks.

    The one saving grace has been Skattebo, as fans get on the edge of their seats every time he touches the ball.

    Skattebo will be counted upon more as his running back mate Tyrone Tracy Jr. is out with an injury. He has an even bigger role on Sunday, as fellow rookie Jackson Dart will be getting his first career start against the Los Angeles Chargers. With a quarterback making his first start against a defense like that, a strong performance by Skattebo would go a long ways in helping Dart.

    If Skattebo can continue to put up big numbers and win the hearts of fans across the NFL, then there could potentially even be some off field opportunities with some candy companies.

  • The Chargers Hit the Road to the Big Apple in Week 4 Match-Up – LAmag

    Herbert and company face the New York Giants in a classic west coast versus east coast clash

    As one of the few undefeated teams left standing in the NFL, the Chargers have been playing their very best football since the move back to Los Angeles.

    QB Justin Herbert has been wheelin’ and dealin’ like never before thanks to an all-star cast surrounding him. In week 3, the Bolts were able to muster up a tough-earned victory against the Denver Broncos thanks to a clutch field goal from kicker Cameron Dicker to end the game. With the team sitting atop the AFC West, we can expect the same level of intensity this Sunday as the Chargers square off against the New York Giants.

    The Giants are currently in an interesting spot. On one hand, they have one of the brightest receiver talents in the league with sophomore WR Malik Nabers. He is so talented, in fact, that many speculate that he’s one good quarterback away from laying down routine stat lines similar to other elite receivers such as Ceedee Lamb and Justin Jefferson. 

    Their rookie RB, Cam Skattebo, is also quickly gaining mass recognition with his ferocious running style, reminiscent of what we saw with prime RB Ezekiel Elliot during his time with the Dallas Cowboys. He runs hard and tackles even harder. 

    But on the other hand, the Giants face a glaring quarterback issue. For the past 3 games of the season, veteran QB Russell Wilson has been the starter at that position, though the results have been less than favorable. Earlier this week, head coach Brian Daboll made the surprising announcement that the team would continue forward with rookie QB Jaxon Dart at the helm, which left many shocked by such a drastic bombshell so early in the season. 

    Dart was selected 25th overall in this year’s draft, and with how colorful a reputation that passionate New York sports fans are known to have, he certainly has some big shoes to fill. 

    Typically, rookie QBs spend their first year in the league sitting behind veteran QBs to absorb and learn as much as they can about playing the position at the highest level in the world, which can be a sensitive transition for some. Historically, more often than not, rookie QBs who are thrown into the fire end up losing their confidence because of the sheer difference in athleticism and talent they face in the NFL versus in college. But sometimes QBs do need a couple of years as a starter to fully develop their skills in this league, with Bryce Young of the Carolina Panthers as a prime example.

    With all that said, the Chargers, specifically their defense, shouldn’t face too many issues when applying pressure to Dart when he’s in the pocket. If things go as expected, the Chargers should cruise through this one easily, though crazier things have happened. The team must never allow Dart to warm up and start connecting on throws because, at the end of the day, this is his first NFL start, so there are a lot of unknown variables at play here. Will Dart succumb to the pressure of Derwin James? Or is he the real deal—someone that can succeed right off the bat as a rookie, like we saw with QB Jayden Daniels of the Washington Commanders last season? 

    We’ll have a chance to find out if the Chargers’ pressure will turn Jaxson Dart into a diamond or into dust this Sunday.

  • Bengals Trade Prediction Lands 10-Time Pro Bowl Replaceme…

    The Cincinnati Bengals offense has been a horror show of turnovers since quarterback Joe Burrow went down in Week 2, and if backup Jake Browning can’t get his act together soon, the team will likely need to explore alternate options.

    Aside from Browning, the only other signal-caller on the active roster is Brett Rypien, who was a castoff of the Minnesota Vikings late in the preseason. Meanwhile, Burrow could miss most of what remains of the year after surgery to repair damage from turf toe that is likely to sideline him until at least December.

    Cincinnati inked both Mike White and Sean Clifford to the practice squad on Sept. 17 in the wake of Burrow’s injury, but Rypien and White have just 11 NFL starts between them (4-7 record), while Clifford has thrown just three passes in two regular-season appearances since joining the league in 2023.

    Browning was relatively impressive across a long stretch two years ago as Burrow’s replacement, leading the team to a 4-3 record in nine appearances and tallying 1,936 passing yards, 12 touchdowns and seven interceptions. However, he hasn’t been able to replicate that success across two games in 2025, he’s leading the NFL with five interceptions, and the Bengals offense has turned the football over eight times total in his two appearances.

    None of the current options in free agency are promising, as Cincinnati’s decision to sign White and Clifford to the practice squad after elevating Rypien into the QB2 role clearly indicates. The trade market isn’t much better, however 10-time Pro Bowler Russell Wilson may be worth a flier after the New York Giants benched him earlier this week in favor of rookie Jaxson Dart, as Kristopher Knox of Bleacher Report proposed.

    “With Jameis Winston in the fold as Dart’s backup/mentor, the Giants should immediately view [Wilson] as expendable,” Knox wrote. “While Wilson has only looked good in one of his three outings this season, he’s a very experienced starter who could potentially fill in for one of the myriad of injured quarterbacks for a game or two. Perhaps more importantly, Wilson’s $2 million base salary would make him a reasonable target for virtually any team.”

    Wilson is now 36 years old, but he can still get it done against average and below-average defenses. He proved as much in Week 2 against the Dallas Cowboys, when he threw for 450 yards and three scores in a 40-37 overtime road loss.

    And with Wilson recently being benched — a move head coach Brian Daboll made clear was for the rest of the season — perhaps the Giants would be inclined to part with Wilson and recoup any form of draft compensation with Jameis Winston a capable backup behind Dart.

    The Kansas City Chiefs overcame some sloppy play to pick up their first win of the season against the New York Giants on Sunday night, 22-9.

    The Chiefs seemed incredibly stagnant in the first half. Kansas City was having a tough time figuring out the Giants’ defense and several players were dropping some key passes. It all changed in the second half as Patrick Mahomes found a rhythm and holes in the Giants’ secondary.

    Mahomes found Tyquan Thornton for a 5-yard touchdown in the third quarter to give the Chiefs a 10-point cushion against the Giants. After New York narrowed the deficit to seven points, Mahomes needed to make a play to get Kansas City back on the board. 

    He found Thornton again for a 33-yard pass to the 1-yard line. Thornton made an acrobatic play, which set up running back Kareem Hunt for a touchdown from the goal line.

    Travis Kelce’s own frustrations boiled over in the first half. As he walked off the field following a drive in the second quarter, he and Andy Reid appeared to have words with each other. He refocused his efforts in the second half and had a key third down catch on the team’s touchdown drive in the third quarter.

    Kansas City held strong even as Russell Wilson guided the team down the field late in the fourth quarter. The defense frustrated the veteran quarterback enough to look like a shade of himself from last week.

    Mahomes finished 22-of-37 with 224 passing yards and a lone touchdown pass. Thornton led the Chiefs with five catches for 71 yards and the score. Kelce had four catches for 26 yards.

    The Chiefs’ defense held Wilson to 160 passing yards. He was sacked twice.

    Giants rookie Cam Skattebo may have been the only bright spot for the Giants. He had 60 rushing yards on 10 carries and a touchdown. He also led the team with six catches for 61 yards.

    Eli Manning and Jaxson Dart have a lot in common.

    The New York Giants traded to get both quarterbacks, each of whom attended Ole Miss. And Dart, like Manning, has begun his career sitting behind a longtime veteran.

    Shortly after the Giants selected Dart with the 25th pick after trading back into the first round, the Big Blue legend reached out to Dart and told the rookie that he had an open line to Manning to reach out “about anything.”

    “I told Jaxson, ‘If you have questions about anything, I’m here for you,” Manning told Peter Schrager. “Football-related, or when you’re deciding what town you want to live in. This or that.’”

    But Dart reached out to Manning about something that was totally unexpected: a five-star restaurant reservation.

    “All of a sudden, it’s training camp. He calls me one day and is like, ‘You’ve got a minute?’ I say, ‘Yeah, of course.’ … He goes, ‘Can you get me a reservation at 4 Charles tonight at 6:30?’

    “I was like, ‘No, no, no. That’s not part of the deal. When I said I’m happy to help out, I’m not doing that. I’m not your reservations guy. You have to earn the right to call and make the reservation.”

    Kudos to Dart for using the two-time Super Bowl MVP to try to get one of the toughest seats around.

    Dart is currently the second-string behind Russell Wilson, but he was used in a few run-pass-option plays last week against the Dallas Cowboys.

    It is unknown when exactly Dart will take over full-time, but for reference, Manning replaced Kurt Warner in the middle of a playoff hunt at 5-4 in 2004. Manning lost each of his first six starts before ending the season with a victory.

  • NFL Insider Reflects on Buzz Around NY Giants QB Jaxson Dart

    After parting with former first-round pick Daniel Jones midway through last season, the New York Giants needed a new long-term plan under center. As the 2025 season gets ready to begin, their latest prospect continues to make things tougher for the coaching staff.

    Early in the first round of the NFL draft, the Giants nabbed defensive standout Abdul Carter out of Penn State. The front office wasn’t done, as they pulled off a trade to secure the No. 25 overall selection. With this pick, they nabbed former Ole Miss quarterback Jaxson Dart.

    Though most teams go to their young QBs right away now, that isn’t the approach New York is taking. Instead, Dart finds himself as the backup to veteran Russell Wilson. This will give him a chance to learn the game more behind the scenes while having a mentor in the former Super Bowl-winning QB.

    While the Giants went out and signed a pair of veterans in free agency, many have called for them to hand the reins over to Dart as a rookie. Seeing that they aren’t contending for a Super Bowl this season, the logical choice is to give the much-needed reps to the player who will likely be the long-term option under center.

    Seeing that Russel is only on a one-year deal, the belief is that Dart will end up taking the starting role at some point during his rookie season. According to one NFL insider, it could end up happening sooner than most are expecting.

    In a recent column for The Athletic, insider Dianna Russini broke down her latest intel from across the NFL ahead of the first Sunday of the 2025 season. Among the topics she dove into was Dart’s impressive start to his pro career.

    Russini also reported on how Dart continues to turn heads within the Giants organization as he makes a case for himself to land the top spot on the depth chart.

    “So far, Dart has weathered it all. One source close to the Giants told me the rookie ‘can handle the moment,’” Russini wrote. “His early poise hasn’t surprised the team, but it has impressed them. His personality is said to be a perfect match for Daboll, and he’s soaked up all of the guidance and coaching he can, both from the staff and the team’s veteran QBs…The Jaxson Dart era might not just be part of a future story. It could begin very soon.”

    Dart has done all the right things as he prepares for his journey in the NFL. All he can do now is continue to prepare to make sure he’s ready whenever the Giants decide to call his number.

    Bears and Packers: The Original Hate

    Chicago and Green Bay have fought each other since 1921 in the longest-running feud in professional football. They’ve met 208 times with Green Bay ahead by just a few games, but the narrow margin doesn’t capture how much these fan bases truly loathe each other. Bears supporters would rather beat the Packers twice and finish 2-15 than win ten games without defeating their northern neighbors.

    George Which spent forty years coaching Chicago and built the franchise around one core belief: destroy Green Bay whenever possible. Vince Lombardi took over a tiny Wisconsin town and turned it into a football factory that dominated the 1960s.     Aaron Rodgers tortured Bears fans for over a decade with performances that seemed almost personal.     New York and Philadelphia sit close enough that their fans work in the same office buildings and attend the same social events. This proximity makes their football rivalry particularly brutal because there’s no escape from opposing supporters after losses. Giants fans must face Eagles supporters at work every Monday morning, turning defeats into week-long torture sessions.

    The 1978 “Miracle at the Meadowlands” created this rivalry’s most famous moment. New York led by five points with seconds left and just had to kneel down to win. Instead, they botched the snap, Herman Edwards picked up the loose ball, and ran twenty-six yards for a touchdown that crushed Giants fans. The play became legendary because New York had thrown away a sure victory.

    DeSean Jackson topped that moment thirty-two years later when Philadelphia trailed by twenty-one points in the fourth quarter but somehow tied the game with minutes remaining. Jackson then returned a punt sixty-five yards for the winning score as time expired, completing one of the most impossible comebacks in NFL history while Giants fans who had started leaving early watched their season die from the parking lot.

    Ravens vs Steelers: Legal Brutality

    Baltimore and Pittsburgh treat football like war. Both teams build their rosters around tough defenses and powerful running attacks. When they meet, the hits are harder and the play gets more physical than most NFL games.

    Ray Lewis and Troy Polamalu made this rivalry personal during their careers. Both players approached Ravens-Steelers games with unusual intensity. They hit harder, talked more trash, and seemed to save their best shots for these specific matchups.

  • Tommy DeVito ‘excited to get to work’ for Patriots, agent says

    A day after the New York Giants cut quarterback Tommy DeVito, the New England Patriots claimed him off waivers.

    A fan favorite in New York, DeVito will try to win over Patriots Nation. His agent, Sean Stellato, spoke exclusively with NBC10 Boston hours after the move.

    “Anytime you get cut and go undrafted, it’s about proving yourself, and he’s excited to get to work,” Stellato said. “He brings a different moxie to the locker room and to the organization, and he relates to a lot of the fans — he was undrafted, he hasn’t had any handouts.”

    Julian Edelman believes Patriots rookie TreVeyon Henderson could be the “steal of the draft.”

    DeVito has been a popular player in his young career, living at home in New Jersey with his parents and leaning into his Italian heritage by often talking about his mom’s cooking — something that earned him the nickname “Tommy Cutlets.”

    “I’m sure mom’s going to come down with a couple trays of frozen cutlets,” said Stellato. “Obviously, we’ve got a lot of friends in the North End.”

    Stellato said DeVito is the type of player who can thrive in New England.

    “Tommy’s got a swagger about him, and he’s a fierce competitor, and he’s tough,” said Stellato. “That’s how the Patriots won Super Bowls, finding guys like Tommy Devito.”

  • NY Giants QB Jaxson Dart Named Among Biggest Preseason Winners

    Now that the preseason has concluded, few teams have built up positive momentum for the 2025 season more than the New York Giants. Along with going undefeated, they saw strong flashes from a handful of their top prospects.

    Among the biggest standouts for the Giants in the preseason was rookie QB Jaxson Dart. After turning heads in minicamp and training camp, he continued to show the franchise they made the right decision on their draft night trade.

    Across his three appearances, Dart recorded a total of 372 yards and three touchdowns. While landing the starting job Week 1 is out of the question, the rookie continues to receive high praise as he begins his pro career.

    Giants QB Jaxson Dart named among biggest preseason winners

    In a recent column for The Athletic, Nick Baumgardner broke down some of the league’s biggest winners of the preseason. Amid his stellar play for the Giants, Dart was among the players to receive a mention.

    “The Giants have maintained their stance that Russell Wilson is their starter,” Baumgardner wrote. “He may not have much margin for error, however, because Dart has looked great. The rookie threw a touchdown pass in each of New York’s three preseason games, finishing the August slate with a QB rating of 113.1. He’s shown confidence over the middle, gotten rid of the ball quickly and displayed an ability to process quickly. He looks ready to start, and — at some point this year — we may see it.”

    Although most NFL teams hand the keys over to young QBs in today’s game, that won’t be the case for Dart and the Giants. He’ll be starting his rookie year in a backup role. This will give him a chance to learn the pro game from Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston before eventually taking the reins.

    Since training camp got underway earlier this month, there have been endless debates on if the Giants should make Dart the starter now. In light of his strong preseason play, this chatter has only gotten louder. Despite this, head coach Brian Daboll remains locked in on his original decision.

    Given that the Giants traded back into the first round to get Dart, it’s clear they view him as a potential long-term option under center. Only time will tell when Daboll decides to make the switch and give the rookie a chance to show what he’s got on the big stage.

    It’s been a while since the Eagles have been in such a good position in their secondary.

    They’ve always had issues there, and aside from 2022, they’ve never really had a trustworthy secondary.

    With their talent back there, they should be in good hands for the foreseeable future.

    Other than Darius Slay, whose veteran presence is valuable for the other defensive backs, the Eagles are extremely young at that position. The next oldest players in the secondary behind Slay are CJGJ and Isaiah Rodgers, who are only 26 years old.

    Everyone else is 25 and younger and has a ton of time to create chemistry with one another.

    The two rookies, Quinyon Mitchell and Cooper DeJean looked like they would be the future of the defense halfway through their rookie years.

    Quinyon has locked up some of the best receivers in the league so far, and Dejean has brought much-needed physicality to the team. Both have upgraded the secondary from what the Eagles had at the end of last season and seeing young players pan out this well is exciting.

    The other young guys, including Reed Blankenship, Kelee Ringo, Eli Ricks, and Sydney Brown, have also played well. Sydney Brown seems like he could be a starting safety for the Eagles for the next 5+ years, and the other guys look like they can be valuable to the team, too.

    The biggest thing this young group needs to work on is forcing some interceptions. They only have two as a group so far, and Reed Blankenship has both. Once they can figure that out, they will be a menace to the league for years.
