Of all the street style trends to dominate our FYP and social media feeds in recent years, bloomer shorts seem to be the most bizarre (and ironically one of our favorites) yet. And who do we have to thank for it? TikTok, of course. In a single scroll on the popular app, you might come across the piece multiple times, from those viral Miu Miu briefs to Aritzia’s more affordable offerings. Slightly more flirty and risqué than the stomach pudge dress or the fisherman aesthetic, bloomer shorts (aka diaper shorts) have officially made it to the top of the sartorial food chain.

    What Are Bloomer Shorts?

While the idea of bloomer shorts may seem new or daunting at first, they’re far from groundbreaking. Similarly to most trends, the good ol’ “everything is new again” concept applies here, as the fad dates back to 1850 when the silhouette was invented as a practical solution for women’s health and comfort — eventually grabbing the attention of famed suffragette Amelia Bloomer. It wasn’t long before she published her approval of them in her newspaper “The Lily,” advocating for women to have the freedom to wear what they want. They became controversial since they exposed women’s ankles, though they were cut midi-length, directly challenging the gender norms of that time.

Fast forward to present day, and bloomers are still a hot topic of conversation. Aritzia recently released a pair of gray micro shorts that dominated TikTok because of the gathered hem that resembles a diaper. Some users are completely obsessed, while others have expressed their disapproval with comments such as, “That’s grandma’s undergarments” and “It’s recession time.” Although the trouser is polarizing, it shows how much bloomer shorts have evolved. Hailey Bieber recently made the piece a part of her uniform, sporting butter yellow silk diaper shorts as part of a set during Paris Fashion Week.

Other celebrities like Dua Lipa, Lizzo, and Sydney Sweeney have also embraced the trend, from sporty versions to classic denim styles, showcasing the trend’s versatility.

Whether you’re looking to add something different to your wardrobe or you’re curious about the unique trend, keep scrolling to shop our bloomer shorts guide.

The annual MTV Video Music Awards is not only one of music’s biggest celebrations, but also presents another opportunity for attendees and performers to show off their sartorial best. Sheer was a reigning trend throughout the night held at New York’s UBS Arena, namely with Sabrina Carpenter and Tate McRae outfits. The “Man’s Best Friend” singer stunned in a completely sheer, beaded red gown from Valentino with a lavender fuzzy boa. Meanwhile, McRae embraced the trend in a custom Ludovic de Saint Sernin number that featured a bra top with a plunging sweetheart neckline and twisted spaghetti straps paired with a see-through skirt with a train creating a cutout silhouette.

The sheer mania at the 2025 VMAs is just a gleaming reminder that the naked dress trend is still relevant, and not going anywhere anytime soon. Countless celebrities have rocked the silhouette throughout the years, with stars like Miley Cyrus, Kylie Jenner, and Doechii embracing the look, from the Billboard Women in Music Awards to the Met Gala. And these stars prove the trend has graduated from your average see-through slip to more innovative designs — from cutouts with sheer overlays in full-coverage dresses to see-through catsuits. Of course, we’ve gathered some of the best sultry styles for every style, shape, and occasion that will help you nail the trend.

Whether you’re headed to a much-needed girls’ night out or gathering looks for your bestie’s tropical bachelorette, we have options just for you, even as low as $20. From an unconventional take on the LBD to sheer pants for your warm-weather evening soirées, shop our top sheer finds ahead.

  • Taylor Swift’s Casual Engagement Dress Is Just as Viral as Her $550,000 Ring

Whether you’re a die-hard Swiftie or not, you can agree that anything Taylor Swift does has an unmatched impact. Whether it’s the resurgence of friendship bracelets thanks to her “Eras” tour, the endless obsession with her Mac red lipstick, or wearing denim dresses to the gym, the star brings a whole new meaning to the word “influence.” As if her new album tease on Aug. 12 (at 12:12 a.m. to be exact), wasn’t enough to leave fans in a frenzy, Swift just achieved her biggest internet-breaking moment yet — her engagement.

In an Instagram post, the 35-year-old star and the Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce broke the happy news, with Swift’s cushion-cut vintage diamond engagement ring (estimated at $550,000) and naked manicure being the center of attention. While fans couldn’t stop staring at her ridiculously huge rock, her navy-and-white striped midi dress by Ralph Lauren also stole the spotlight during the momentous occasion — so much so that it sold out in 20 minutes.

Of course, it’s no surprise that the “Fortnight” singer’s exact ensemble isn’t available to shop, but that’s where we come in. After an in-depth search, we found a few similar options that are sure to be Swift-approved, and they’re way below the $398 price point. Whether you’re in the market for a late summer getup or just need another excuse to shop, consider these alternatives that are just as chic: Lentta Striped Smocked Maxi Dress ($29); Cider Strapless Dress ($36); Abercrombie The A&F Emerson Strapless Maxi Dress ($60, originally $120); Princess Polly Pokey Stripe Sleeveless Cotton Maxi Dress ($75); and the Moon River Stripe Ruched Strapless Midi Dress ($98). We also managed to find Swift’s shoe silhouette in the Margaux The City Sandal ($365), and this under-$200 option: Frankie4 Eadie Ankle Strap Sandal ($198).

The highly-anticipated season seven reunion of “Love Island USA” brought a slew of drama. From the season’s winners Amaya Espinal and Bryan Arenales addressing cheating rumors to the validity of Jeremiah Brown and Austin Shepard’s brotherhood being questioned, cringe was an overarching theme of the night. But all drama aside, the islanders were challenged to sport their sartorial best to discuss the season’s most viral moments — a trend that has been set with Andy Cohen’s tenure as the host for reunions such as “The Real Housewives” franchise. The legendary TV personality joined the season-seven stars, along with the show’s impeccably-dressed host Ariana Madix for a night full of tea, and the looks were definitely referential.

Madix, who’s cemented herself as the fashion icon of the “Love Island USA” world, showed up in a blue-and-purple sequined mermaid-esque gown from Jean Pierre Khoury Couture’s spring/summer 2025 collection that featured a plunging neckline, a subtle cutout right below the bust, and embellished 3D flowers. Contestants like Huda Mustafa and Andreina Santos also looked to high-end designers for their ensembles, wearing a velvet floral dress from Roberto Cavalli’s fall/winter 2006 collection and an Hervé Léger bandage dress, respectively. Meanwhile, couples Nic Vansteenberghe and Olandria Carthen and Chelley Bissainthe and Ace Greene wore custom gold and green looks — the ladies in gowns from Julian Mendez Couture and Jagne specifically.

As a certified fashion girl (and strong-willed person), it’s very rare that I let someone else style me. For the most part, I either wear what I want to wear based on my own creativity, or I’ll ask my brother or mom their thoughts about my outfit — two people whose sartorial sense I highly respect. But if we’re talking someone outside of close friends or family? I’m definitely apprehensive. Of course, that apprehension faded quickly once Vivrelle and Revolve’s new Complete the Look feature came into play. The brands’ collaboration invited AI to dictate my outfit, and the outcome turned out to be one of my favorite looks to date.

The luxury consignment site and go-to shopping destination recently launched their partnership that includes an AI-powered tool, which allows Vivrelle members to seamlessly team their chosen handbag or accessory with complimentary looks from Revolve or FWRD. All you have to do is log in to the app, select the bag you want to borrow, and press “add to closet.” You then proceed to your cart, where you’ll see the Complete the Look element appear with clothing suggestions from Revolve and FWRD.

Most notably, the partnership is the first-of-its-kind, especially for Vivrelle, which has a mission to create accessible experiences for its members. Later this season, the brands will launch another phase of the feature with “Ella,” an AI concierge that will act as a personalized fashion assistant.

As shopping editors and designer-bag fanatics, it was only right that we try the feature for ourselves. Ahead, read our editors’ honest thoughts about the innovative styling process and the designer bags we chose — and keep scrolling to shop our outfits from Revolve.

We are proud participants in “The Summer I Turned Pretty” fandom here at Popsugar (way before the recent hype). And can you really blame us? Although completely fictional, the complexity and allure of the show’s love triangle is so relatable — namely, Belly Conklin’s (Lola Tung) entanglement with Jeremiah (Gavin Casalegno) and Conrad Fisher (Christopher Briney), who also happen to be brothers. A classic, messy love story. While our eyes are constantly glued to the screen in anticipation of the latest drama every Wednesday, we’re paying attention to the outfits just as much — not because they’re absolutely groundbreaking as far as sartorial convention goes, but because of their accessibility.

As a young woman with an ever-evolving emotional identity, Belly displays a fashion sense that’s equal parts appropriate, classic, and effortless. We’re talking all-encompassing wardrobe staples like flirty, printed dresses from Reformation for daily escapades, Levi’s jeans for wedding dress shopping, and her Victoria Beckham bridal gown that’s only $1,250 — far from your average bridal ensemble splurge.

We also see noteworthy style from other characters, like Taylor Jewel, that reflects the essence of the series’ magical setting, Cousins Beach. Inspired by East Coast beach towns, including Martha’s Vineyard and The Hamptons, the timely aesthetic feels particularly achievable. From affordable picks that are perfect for your last-minute New England summer getaway to “The Summer I Turned Pretty”-inspired collections from Solid & Striped, keep scrolling to shop some of our favorite pieces inspired by season three.

  • Suddenly, Water Shoes Are Summer’s Most Controversial Fashion Trend

    [ad_1]

While each product featured is independently selected by our editors, we may include paid promotion. If you buy something through our links, we may earn commission. Read more about our Product Review Guidelines here.

Fashion has long departed from trends that would be considered safe. As much as the classic polka dot is enjoying a resurgence right now, some of the weirdest trends have succeeded at not only dominating our FYPs, but also our bank accounts. Sardines, dolphins, diaper shorts, TikTok’s obsession with Loft — you name it — it’s most likely been a fad at some point. You’d think we’ve seen it all, but of course, we found another item that’s unexpectedly climbing the sartorial hierarchy: water shoes.

Yes, that’s right, the shoe style that was originally constructed for water activities like surfing or swimming is now a fashion statement. But how did we graduate to immersing them into our street style wardrobe? The answer remains to be seen, but Irina Shayk’s embrace of the shoe is a great point of reference. For a casual day of escapades in New York, the model wore a black T-shirt and black midi skirt with an oversize gray blazer and the Constance crossbody bag from Hermès — all pieces that would normally comprise a stylish outfit. Yet she added unusual flair with a pair of Wilcor neoprene slip-ons with pink piping, suggesting that water shoes weren’t just made for the waterpark. I mean, if she wore them out and about in one of the world’s most respected fashion capitals, then they’re acceptable (kind of).

Whether you’re influenced by Shayk’s trés chic look or just need a new pair for your next trek to the beach, keep scrolling to shop the best water shoes.

  • Amaya Espinal’s Muumuu Is More Than Just a Viral “Love Island USA” Moment

It’s no secret that “Love Island USA” is impacting current culture as we know it. While it’s far from the first love-centered reality show that we’ve seen, its popularity is especially referential. The show’s foundational concept is unusual alone — being secluded on an island away from the outside world to find the love you’ve been looking for all your life. Islanders also played a significant role in season seven’s massive impact, including Olandria Carthen and Nicolas Vansteenberghe’s kiss that caused a massive crash-out at “Love Island” watch parties. Another highlight from the show that’s still on our minds? Amaya Espinal (aka our sensitive gangster) wearing a muumuu in episode 28.

While the New Yorker’s bubbly personality and witty candor have given us plenty of meme-worthy moments to reflect on, her muumuu is far from just another piece of clothing that’s passed the TikTok viral test. In an interview with the Today show, Espinal revealed that she only had a day to prepare for the show before being flown to Fiji, so she threw a bunch of clothing in a suitcase — including the muumuu she got during a trip to Portugal. “Bringing that piece back to the villa reminded me of my travels and reminded me of the good days whenever I was having a bad one,” she says. “It was more than a dress for sure — it really made me feel grounded.”

Apart from the sentimental value it holds for Espinal, the muumuu bears cultural significance that’s particularly noteworthy. The comfortable piece can be traced back to the early 19th century, when Christian missionaries in Hawaii influenced native women to wear the silhouette to further cultivate modesty. Hawaiian women adapted a more casual, sleeveless version — the “holokū” — for everyday wear, before it was renamed the muumuu. Fast forward to present day, the dress style is still acceptable in Western culture, and often a go-to purchase for vacations, Hawaiian-themed parties like luaus, and more. And of course, celebrities have proudly embraced the muumuu — most recently, Kris Jenner, Oprah Winfrey, and Gayle King were seen wearing them on a Mallorca getaway.

Espinal wearing her own speaks to the diversity we need to see more of on reality shows, and is a surefire way to exhibit the fact that modesty is still attractive. During the scene in which she wore it, her partner, Bryan Arenales, complimented her look (despite her labeling it as a “grandma dress”). His support proves that you don’t always need to show skin to be deemed attractive or desired — especially in the eyes of your romantic partner.

While her exact dress isn’t available to shop, we found similar picks that evoke the same level of style and confidence: Unique Kaftans Floral Print Long Tunic Dress ($3, originally $10), JaipurCraftandArt Cotton Kaftan ($27, originally $75), and H&M Oversized Kaftan Dress ($75).

  • “Love Island USA” Star Iris Kendall Wore These $22 Boy Shorts to Bed Every Night

Season seven of “Love Island USA” may be over, but we’re still digesting it all. After all, the show ran every day — except for Wednesdays — since its premiere on June 3, and each nearly two-hour episode showcased some of the worst (and best) of what America’s current dating pool has to offer. The series has even left us with a slew of aftermath moments to hold us over until the season’s Aug. 25 reunion, from embracing the beauty of being a sensitive gangster like Amaya Espinal to fan-favorite couple Nicolandria trekking to Disneyland. Another item to stoke the post-Love Island obsessive madness? Iris Kendall’s boy shorts.

After entering the villa as a bombshell in episode nine, the Los Angeles-born star proved to be one of the most enduring islanders, as she diligently explored multiple connections before making it to the final four with partner Jose “Pepe” Garcia. Kendall’s style is another element we’re reflecting on, but not for the reason you think. Naturally, she wore many looks that reflected the carefree California vibe (like bikinis and frilly dresses), but her pajama wardrobe was especially impressive. As islanders got ready for bed each night, fans quickly noticed that Kendall often wore the Skims Soft Smoothing Seamless Boy Short ($22) and the Skims Fits Everybody Lace Short ($24) — and for good reason. Not only are they super lightweight, but they’re constructed with high-quality cotton and nylon that provides full coverage and a confidence-boosting silhouette. They even range from size XXS to 4X, making them accessible for all.

To no one’s surprise, the affordable bottom has gained TikTok approval, with many users flocking to the Skims website to get the Iris Kendall look for themselves. Between their great quality and budget-friendly price point, purchasing these boy shorts is only right — whether you’re a “Love Island USA” fan or not.

  • 17 Outfit Ideas For Lady Gaga’s “Mayhem” Tour — Starting at Just $8

If there’s any celebrity you can count on to nail any and every aesthetic, trend, or fad, it’s Lady Gaga. The Grammy-winning singer is completely unabashed when it comes to taking risks in her artistry as a whole, but her style, perhaps most of all, knows no bounds. Of course, we all remember her iconic outfit for the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards — a dress, hat, boots, and purse made entirely out of raw beef, designed by Franc Fernandez. The look garnered so much attention that it was listed by Time as the top fashion statement of that year (and it has its own Wikipedia page!). Fast-forward to present day, and the artist born Stefani Germanotta is still crafting her own lane of style as she promotes her latest album, “Mayhem,” which she’ll be taking on the road starting in July.

Apart from the otherworldly visuals, surrealist dance routines, and captivating vocals, you can expect Lady Gaga’s tour outfits to deliver just as much drama for us to be inspired by for years to come. In true Gaga fashion, she’s created mind-blowing visuals to accompany the album’s most major hits, like “Abracadabra.” In the video, we see the singer’s limitless sartorial abilities even more, namely a custom Samuel Lewis x Suman Gurung x Ilona lace ensemble accompanied by a stiffened, dramatic collar and tiered train — giving us firsthand inspiration for the tour.

In case Elizabethan-inspired clothing isn’t exactly your style, you can take notes from Gaga’s previous eras while planning your concert look. Think exaggerated denim and embellished accessories inspired by her “Marry the Night” video, or loud, leopard looks like the jumpsuit she wore in her and Beyoncé’s boundary-pushing anthem “Telephone.” And if you can’t make a strict decision on which Gaga-approved aesthetic to channel, we’ve done the legwork and rounded up the best concert outfit ideas for you to shop. From gaudy jewelry to dramatic denim from favorites like Nordstrom and Revolve, these are the best Lady Gaga-inspired fashion finds to get for The “Mayhem” Ball.

While fashion is far from lacking in the area of collaborations, Harlem’s Fashion Row just created a new standard through its partnership with Nordstrom. The company, which champions diversity by bridging the gap between brands and Black designers, has worked with everyone from Nike and LeBron James to Banana Republic. Partnering with a retail behemoth like Nordstrom, however, hits differently. In fact, HFR founder & CEO Brandice Daniel calls it “a celebration of Black consumers’ cultural and economic power.” Daniel has dedicated her career to amplifying Black voices in fashion, so it was only fitting that she highlighted three monumental Black-owned brands with this Nordstrom collaboration: House of Aama, Harbison, and Megan Renee.

The Nordstrom by Harlem’s Fashion Row collab arrives just in time for the summer-to-fall transition and features pieces that speak to the longstanding impact of Black culture in fashion. House of Aama’s signature feminine aesthetic is elevated by unique tailoring inspired by African Diaspora Dandy culture. Highlights include jewelry adorned with etching-type motifs you would normally see in antiquity pottery. Meanwhile, Harbison’s designs serve as an ode to his mother, who he says navigated society with unmatched poise as a working-class, utilitarian woman. He was also inspired by Simon Maris’s “Portrait of a Young Black Woman” (1890), where the woman’s eyes reflect innocence and curiosity, communicated in the abstract color-blocking and inviting florals of his designs.

    Nordstrom

While House of Aama and Harbison leaned into the visceral power of our culture, Megan Renee stuck to the undeniable elan of being a woman. The brand’s eponymous founder Megan Smith is all about celebrating bold, strong womanhood, and her collection exudes just that. Wearable staples with exaggerated shapes and innovative proportions like silky button-ups, faux leather tiered skirts, and the quintessential suit all depict the image of the modern-day phenomenal woman Maya Angelou described.

Smith’s choice to collaborate with HFR and Nordstrom was a no-brainer, given she showcased her designs at the agency’s annual Fashion Show and Style Awards in 2023. “Retail placement has been at the forefront of initiatives for my brand, and I knew this opportunity would open so many doors,” she says. “Working with Harlem’s Fashion Row is always seamless, and since connecting and working together, I’ve started to feel like they are family now.”

I built my brand around my love of strong suits and blazers and I feel like the piece really captures not only who I am but the woman I am dressing.

When the time came to design the collection, Renee found inspiration from an unlikely source: a quote that motivated her to keep going when she found herself at a crossroads and uncertain about the brand’s future. “I was at a point with my brand where I wasn’t sure what direction I wanted to take but I knew I still had more I needed to say to the world,” she says. “I came across this quote by Erin Hanson, ‘What if I fall, but oh my darling what if you fly?’ and that became my inspiration. Once I heard that, it made me think of birds flying so the feathers became the direction for the jewelry and print. I wanted the collection to feel very aspirational and forward. It really helped me envision where the Megan Renee brand should be headed.”

As for her favorite piece in the collection, Renee immediately names the structured blazer and wide-leg pantsuit. “I built my brand around my love of strong suits and blazers and I feel like the piece really captures not only who I am but the woman I am dressing,” she says. “It’s bold, strong, but still feminine. I played with the fit and proportions that really speak to a woman’s body and it feels very fresh and chic.”

    Nordstrom

Megan Renee’s full collection is now available to shop, along with pieces from House of Aama and Harbison. With an impressive size range of XXS to 2XL — sizes 00 to 18 for women and S to 2XL for men — and prices as low as $45, there’s truly something for everyone. You can shop directly on the Nordstrom website as well as in 20 stores across the country, including New York’s flagship location. • 15 of Cardi B’s Best Street Style Moments, From Archival Catsuits to Plunging Gowns

15 of Cardi B’s Best Street Style Moments, From Archival Catsuits to Plunging Gowns

    [ad_1]

If there’s any woman in rap you can count on to deliver a noteworthy style moment, it’s Cardi B. Only five years ago, the 31-year-old made her hip-hop debut with “Invasion of Privacy.” Still, she has quickly dominated the industry, easily becoming one of today’s most successful female rappers. The Grammy-winning album also featured the hit “Bodak Yellow,” which revealed her affinity for Christian Louboutin heels, thereby setting the tone for her entrance into fashion. Since then, Cardi B has broken many barriers in the industry, including becoming the first female rapper to cover Vogue.

Thanks to stylist Kollin Carter, Cardi B’s imprint on fashion is second to none in her genre. Since their partnership started in 2017, the New York-born rapper has produced many groundbreaking looks, including the vintage Mugler crinoline sheath she wore for the 2019 Grammys, marking only the second time in 25 years that the prestigious fashion house opened its archives for a celebrity. She appeared in other jaw-dropping ensembles from the designer, most notably the red feathered dress sourced from the 1995 archives for a Mugler party in 2021. • 10 of Shakira's Best Fashion Moments: From Low-Rise Jeans to Voluminous Dresses

10 of Shakira's Best Fashion Moments: From Low-Rise Jeans to Voluminous Dresses

    [ad_1]

You can’t talk about Latin music without mentioning Shakira. The Colombian artist broke into the music scene back in 1991 after dropping her debut album, “Magia”; embraced her rock en español roots with her 1995 hit album, “Pies Descalzos“; and started taking the world by storm after crossing over with hits like “Hips Don’t Lie” and “Beautiful Liar,” contributing to Latin music becoming a global phenomenon. While she’s produced many era-defining moments throughout her three-decade-long career, her style is just as referential and unforgettable. Since attending the first Latin Grammy Awards in a vibrant red ensemble with one of her signature waist belts, Shakira has become a red carpet style mainstay. She continued with a streak of sultry, risk-taking looks that only she could rock, including naked dresses, ab-baring crop tops, and low-rise jeans (even shredded), becoming the epitome of Y2K fashion.

Apart from her unmatched imprint on fashion in the early aughts, the Colombian star has also donned classic silhouettes while mixing in modern trends. In 2009, she memorably made minidresses red-carpet worthy with a yellow strapless number at the American Music Awards, a gold shattered-glass dress for an album release party in 2017, and an iconic LBD from David Koma for her big win at the 2023 Latin Women in Music Awards. She’s even fostered relationships with designers like Burberry, making her fashion campaign debut in the brand’s 2022 holiday project, as well as Viktor & Rolf, infamously wearing a white “no” trench coat during Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week, effortlessly embracing the no-pants trend.

Shakira continues to prove her timeless beauty and staying power with looks that match her professional evolution. Most recently, she wore an open-back, sequined Versace dress with side cutouts at the 2023 VMAs and turned heads in a black, strapless Mônot gown for her first Cannes Film Festival last year.

Ahead, take a look at Shakira’s best style moments — dating back to 2000.

The 2020 racial reckonings heightened awareness across many industries, especially fashion, ushering in a new era where BIPOC designers were supported and given the voice they deserve. This push paved the way for more Black-owned brands to emerge on the scene, and one newcomer has managed to set themselves apart from the rest — Maya Winston. In just one year of business, the Jamaican-born designer, now based in New York City, has created a luxury accessory label that’s known for its viral handbags uniquely crafted in the Asia Pacific and the Middle East, including their small leather tote, most popularly worn by Angela Simmons, Tia Mowry, and Remy Ma.

“It’s just those Jamaican roots; we can make anything fashionable.”

Winston has since catapulted into the luxury bag market with a brand identity that’s just as rich as the quality of his pieces. At 11, he migrated with his family to the US, where he learned firsthand how to sew from his mother, a sought-after seamstress, establishing the foundation of the Maya Winston brand. “Growing up in Jamaica, my mom was always making everyone’s clothes, and as far as I could think back, I’ve always been surrounded by sewing machines, where I would often stitch my uniform whenever I messed it up,” Winston tells POPSUGAR. “It’s just those Jamaican roots; we can make anything fashionable. Take nothing and make it into something.”

With over a decade spent cultivating his love for design (even starting the men’s streetwear line Terry Winston in 2013, once worn by Teyana Taylor), the Bronx native transitioned to creating accessories for the elevated and confident woman, regardless of demographic. His highly-coveted bags have also captured the attention of major companies like Samsung, which resulted in an exclusive collaboration during New York Fashion Week that included a fireside chat with Winston and a billboard in Times Square. “I always told myself, I’m going to have a billboard one day. But I never stopped to think about what it would look like or its message,” he says. “It was surreal, and Samsung was the perfect company to get consumers to know the face behind the name; it just made sense.”

Ahead, Winston opens up about the future of his brand, cultural identity, the impact of racial inclusivity, and more. Keep reading for the full interview and shop his signature pieces.

  • Teyana Taylor on Her Kids' Love of Rick Owens: Junie “Interns When She Doesn't Have School”

Teyana Taylor on Her Kids' Love of Rick Owens: Junie “Interns When She Doesn't Have School”

    [ad_1]

Of all the countless celebrities who’ve modeled in the Pirelli Calendar in the past, the 2024 cast stand out. Photographed by Ghanaian visual artist Prince Gyasi in London and Ghana, this year’s 50th edition features icons like Naomi Campbell, Angela Bassett, Idris Elba, Amanda Gorman, Jeymes Samuel, Margot Lee Shetterly, King Otumfuo Osei Tutu II — as well as multihyphenate Teyana Taylor.

After getting her start as the choreographer for Beyoncé’s “Ring the Alarm” music video at the tender age of 15, Taylor has crafted an outstanding résumé as a singer, dancer, actress, creative director, and model, from her award-winning “Fade” video with Kanye West to her remarkable role in “A Thousand and One.”

The 32 year-old has even dipped her feet into styling, most recently working with Usher and NBA star Kyle Kuzma. “Since I was younger, I’ve always loved fashion and sports, even creating a lifestyle blog that Kobe Bryant and Chris Paul supported. I’ve always wanted to merge fashion and sports because I didn’t like how athletes were being dressed,” Taylor tells POPSUGAR. “I’m truly living my dream of giving, whether behind the scenes or publicly; I just want to give people what I wasn’t able to receive.”

As everything she touches turns to gold, it’s no surprise that Pirelli commissioned the Harlem-born star for this year’s calendar. “It felt so amazing because Pirelli is super iconic and when we grow up seeing things that we love, we would never think in a million years that we’d be a part of it,” she says of the project. “When I learned they wanted to shoot in Africa, I felt even better. I normally shoot in a studio or location within arm’s reach in my other projects. So, to go to the motherland where they had a garden of roses, a spaceship, and crazy hair and dress, they embodied who I was, Mother Alien.”

“They’re just intelligent, strong, and beautiful little ladies who know what they want, so I’m really excited to see how much more serious they get into fashion as they get older.”

Taylor shares that she wishes she could’ve brought her daughters to the shoot, as Junie and Rue are emerging style stars in their own right. In fact, both girls have a documented love for Rick Owens, Taylor shares. “Junie’s 7, Rue just turned 3, and she even had a custom Rick Owens mermaid costume for Halloween,” she says. “[Junie is] also an honorary Rick Owens worker, where she interns when she doesn’t have school. And she even went viral when she sat front row at his show. She is literally that girl and knows exactly where she’s going.”

Ahead, Taylor opens up to POPSUGAR about the Pirelli experience, her faith, her daughters’ impressive designer knowledge, and more.

  • Miley Cyrus Wows in a Plunging Top and Short Shorts For New Gucci Shoot

Miley Cyrus Wows in a Plunging Top and Short Shorts For New Gucci Shoot

    [ad_1]

Miley Cyrus officially joins the world of famous muses with her pending collaboration with Gucci. On Nov. 2, the brand’s new creative director, Sabato de Sarno, took to Instagram to show off some behind-the-scenes moments from a Los Angeles photo shoot with Cyrus. In the first shot, the “Used to Be Young” singer wore a plunging gray top that slightly showed her cleavage, a GG-logo belt, and the tiniest burgundy leather shorts from the brand. “It was us in LA. We danced. We laughed. We loved each other. Miley for Gucci. It’s coming,” he captioned the post, teasing the partnership. And Cyrus later followed up with an Instagram share of her own.

Cyrus’s upcoming campaign comes as little surprise, as she’s developed a long-term relationship with the Italian fashion house. The 30-year-old star first modeled for Gucci in 2021 in a self-directed short film for its Aria collection, in which she wore a bright-green logo-covered jacket, matching high-waisted trousers, and a crisp white blouse. She then starred in its Flora Gorgeous Gardenia fragrance ad, even recording a song to go along with the campaign.

Cyrus has also incorporated Gucci into many of her looks, both on and off the stage, from a red ’70s-inspired playsuit for Lollapalooza to the sequin LBD and blue fur coat she wore to celebrate the release of her “Endless Summer Vacation” album earlier this year.

Much like her short shorts worn here, Cyrus often gravitates to alluring pieces and silhouettes. In June, she covered British Vogue in multiple skin-baring outfits, including a cutout Alaïa bodysuit with a caged jacket and a green Prada bra-and-miniskirt set. She’s even tapped into the most alluring archival fashion trends, appearing in vintage minidresses, sequin frocks, and bodysuits.

Hailey Bieber’s Party-Ready Dress Features the Boldest Ab Cutout

    [ad_1]

While it may feel like fall just arrived, holiday time is already here, and with the changing seasons comes not only the perfect excuse to shop the coziest knits or edgiest boots, but also a fresh host of holiday fashion campaigns from the most classic brands. The “most wonderful time of the year” already brings great joy, and designers are only adding to the excitement by featuring some of our favorite stars in their holiday marketing.

Coach is one of the first to kick off the 2023 holiday fashion ad season, but with an unconventional twist. The brand’s ethical fashion lab Coachtopia launched “A Wasty Holiday,” a campaign that’s focused on bringing awareness to the wasteful behavior associated with the festive season, where between 25 and 43 percent more waste is created than any other time of year. The sustainably inspired project is also launching in line with a film starring actor and Coachtopia community member Lola Tung. In the clip, Tung makes a resolution to transform holiday waste into innovative creations, ultimately inspiring people to make a more circular fashion economy.

Calvin Klein‘s holiday campaign also stayed true to the joyful energy of the season, starring Brandon Flynn and Hailey Bieber. Directed and shot by James Brodribb, the brand subtly taps into the quiet-luxury trend with Bieber effortlessly posing braless in the quintessential black slip dress in a mirrored room. She’s also seen in other pieces from the traditional collection, including maxi slip dresses, fuzzy sweaters, and a cutout minidress. On the mens fashion front, Flynn shows his best dance moves in a burgundy cotton sweater and the brand’s signature denim. In another shot, he sports Calvin Klein’s most updated underwear style — the Future Shift Holiday Low Rise Trunk.

As the holidays draw closer, keep checking here for the best holiday fashion campaigns of 2023.
