    Akhanda 2: Thaandavam is slated to begin streaming on the OTT platform Netflix. The film will be available digitally from January 9, 2026. The platform shared the official update through its social media handles.

    Sharing the announcement, Netflix wrote, “Babu ready babu… start camera.. Action! Watch Akhanda 2 on Netflix, out 9 January in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam.”

    Akhanda 2: Thaandavam begins with a rivalry involving a neighbouring nation plotting to destroy India by attacking what it believes to be the country’s spiritual backbone. The rival nation plans a massive biowarfare attack during the Maha Kumbh Mela, plunging the country into a full-blown crisis.

    As the DRDO works on creating an antidote to the looming threat, the responsibility falls into the hands of Janani, the 16-year-old daughter of Murali Krishna, a prodigy with an IQ of 266.

    When Janani successfully develops a vaccine against the biowarfare threat, she becomes the prime target of the enemy nation. Sensing danger to her life, her uncle and Aghora, Akhanda Rudra Sikandar, return once again to protect her, just as he promised in the first instalment.

    How Akhanda uses his divine strength and supernatural powers to counter the threat against Janani and the nation as a one-man army forms the rest of the narrative.

    The film is a sequel to the 2021 movie Akhanda, which was a massive hit.

    Akhanda 2 stars Nandamuri Balakrishna in the lead role, joined by Samyuktha, Aadhi Pinisetty, Harshaali Malhotra, Viji Chandrasekhar, Kabir Duhan Singh, Saswata Chatterjee, Achyuth Kumar, Sangay Tsheltrim, Poorna, and several others in key roles.

    Written and directed by Boyapati Sreenu, the fantasy action thriller features music and background scores composed by Thaman S. The movie is bankrolled by Ram Achanta, Gopi Achanta, and Ishan Saksena under the banners of 14 Reels Plus Entertainment and IVY Entertainment.

    Cinematography for Akhanda 2 was handled by C. Ramprasad and Santosh Detake, while Tammiraju served as the editor.

    Kichcha Sudeep’s action-drama film Mark was released in theatres on December 25 and has completed its 12 days at box office. Let’s take a look at the film’s earning.

    The Kannada action-drama film Mark, starring Kichcha Sudeep in the lead role, has completed 12 days in theaters. Released on December 25, the film has grossed approximately Rs 25.54 crore net in India so far. The film entered its 12th day on January 5th and continues to run in Karnataka and some dubbed version markets. While the opening was strong, the film’s momentum slowed down considerably afterward. According to Sacnilk, Mark had a fantastic opening day, earning Rs 8.6 crore. This collection was primarily from Karnataka, where Kichcha Sudeep enjoys a massive fan following. However, the movie registered a steep fall on the second day and could only make Rs 3.2 crore. The movie’s revenue was quite constant over the first weekend. On the third day, the movie’s income was nearly equal to that of the first day, and on the fourth day (Sunday), the collection experienced a minor rise, touching Rs 3.4 crore. After this, the movie’s revenue went down steadily during the week. The collection fell under Rs 1.2 crore from Monday, and the downward trend continued until Wednesday.

    The film received a slight boost at the beginning of the second week. On the eighth day (second Thursday), the film earned approximately Rs 1.9 crore. This increase was contributed by the Kannada version as well as the Telugu and Tamil dubbed versions. The film showed a slight improvement during the second weekend. On the ninth day, it earned approximately Rs 0.6 crore, on the tenth day Rs 0.76 crore, and on the eleventh day approximately Rs 1 crore, registering a growth of 31.58%. By noon on the twelfth day, the movie’s total gross was just Rs 25.54 crore as it made only Rs 0.03 crore.

    On the other side, Nandamuri Balakrishna’s movie, Akhanda 2, has been the clear winner over Mark at the box office. Akhanda 2, despite 4% drop in revenues, was still able to garner Rs 1 crore. The total collection of Akhanda 2 over the 12 days has reached an astonishing Rs 86.5 crore, whereas the collection of Mark is like a drop in the ocean as compared to that figure.

    The narrative of Mark is centered on the character of Ajay Markandey, a police officer who is suspended but takes on the criminal underworld, the corrupt politicians, and the legal system.

    Nandamuri Balakrishna-starrer Akhanda 2 is gearing up for release after being postponed from its initial Dussehra slot. The sequel to the fantasy action film is now set to hit theatres on December 5, 2025.

    The makers of Akhanda 2 have officially announced the new release date. As the film is now slated to premiere on December 5 this year, it is just 50 days away from hitting the big screens.

    Marking the countdown, the team shared a post that read, “In 50 DAYS, you all will witness the BLOCKBUSTER THAANDAVAM on the big screens. A divine high like never before. #Akhanda2 IN CINEMAS WORLDWIDE FROM DECEMBER 5th.”

    Originally, Akhanda 2 was expected to release on September 25, 2025, coinciding with Dussehra. However, due to post-production delays, the makers had to postpone the release.

    About Akhanda 2

    Akhanda 2 – Thaandavam is an action drama directed and co-written by Boyapati Sreenu. The movie stars Nandamuri Balakrishna in the lead role as an Aghora who uses his divine powers to battle evil and protect the world.

    The film is a sequel to Balakrishna’s 2021 blockbuster Akhanda and features Samyuktha and Aadhi Pinisetty in key roles.

    In the original Akhanda, NBK played dual roles, including that of Murali Krishna, a farmer who opposes a corrupt copper mining company. When he clashes with the villain boss and a fake Aghora, the story takes a divine turn as his twin brother Akhanda, a powerful real Aghora, returns to fight injustice.

    While the flick was a massive box-office success, it received mixed reviews from critics and audiences alike.

    NBK was last seen in the period action drama Daaku Maharaaj, directed by Bobby Kolli. The film follows Sitaram, a committed civil engineer who transforms into a feared dacoit named “Daaku Maharaaj” to protect a helpless village from a tyrannical prince, Balwanth Singh Thakur

    Featuring Bobby Deol as the main antagonist, the movie also stars Pragya Jaiswal, Shraddha Srinath, Sachin Khedekar, Makarand Deshpande, Urvashi Rautela, and others in pivotal roles.

    Looking ahead, Nandamuri Balakrishna is expected to appear in a cameo role in the upcoming Rajinikanth-starrer Jailer 2.

The Unstoppable with NBK limited edition show premiered on October 17, featuring the cast and crew of Balayya’s latest film, Bhagavanth Kesari.     Taraka Ratna, a young member of the Nandamuri family, passed away on Sunday due to cardiac arrest. The actor’s mortal is currently kept for homage at his residence in Hyderabad and the entire Nandamuri family is heartbroken with this huge loss. A video of his mother crying inconsolably while watching her son’s mortal has surfaced on the Internet. 

    The video of the mother’s pain seeing her son has touched netizens’ hearts on the internet. Tarak’s mother couldn’t stop weeping and holding him. The entire Nandamuri family is shattered and are grieving the untimely demise of Taraka Ratna.

    Taraka Ratna’s death

    Taraka Ratna’s funeral will take place today evening. His mortal is currently kept for fans and celebs to homage at The Telugu Film Camber in Hyderabad. Jr NTR, his wife Pranathi, Kalyan Ram, Jr NTR, Venkatesh, and others for the last rites. According to reports, Tarak Ratna’s wife Alekhya Reddy is in shock over his demise and fell ill. She is currently in a lethargic state as she has not eaten anything in the last two days while taking care of their two daughters and a son. 

    For the unversed, last month, Taraka Ratna collapsed after suffering cardiac arrest while participating in a road show of a political event. He was taken to Bengaluru for treatment at Narayana Institute of Cardiac Science. Although he was responding to the treatment, remained critical. After 20 days of being hospitalized, he took his last breath on February 19. He was just 39 years old.

    Nandamuri Taraka Ratna was the son of Nandamuri Mohana Krishna and the grandson of legendary actor-politician NT Rama Rao. He was the nephew of Nandamuri Balakrishna, and the cousin of some of the most popular members of the contemporary Telugu film industry, including Jr NTR and Nandamuri Kalyan Ram, and politician Nara Lokesh.
