As someone who works in New York City, I’m very particular about handbags. I’ve never been the stylish commuter who grabs a mini clutch and is off for a day of adventure from the office to dinner to cocktails. My work bag is essentially the equivalent of a car trunk for me so the more space, the better. That said, it’s no surprise I gravitated to Coach’s recent oversize bag offerings, particularly the Coach Large Kisslock Frame Bag ($695).

    Main Image

But obviously, it’s not just about function. When I saw it on the runway, I immediately recognized the design inspiration: grandma’s coin purse. Coach actually cites the vintage Cashin Carry as its muse, the 1969 handbag conceived by Bonnie Cashin, the brand’s first lead designer. How innovative for Coach to reimagine that archival staple as an oversize It bag — I’ve never seen anything like it. I shared clips of the bag on TikTok and immediately the comment section was flooded with praise. It was clear Coach had yet another burgeoning viral handbag moment on their hands (viral is now an understatement: the bag sells out in a matter of minutes). While the teddy bear and dinosaur styles are also on my shopping list, the kisslock frame bag feels especially fun and versatile — and it comes in a bunch of bold and neutral colors.

I have to admit though, I had my reservations. The models carried the bag hoisted under their arms on the runway and it was all very cool and effortless but I’m sorry — I need to be on my phone, grabbing my wallet, pulling out my emotional support water bottle, applying my lip oil, taking my supplements, finishing my coffee, and something else I’m forgetting. A hands-free options is needed! Fortunately, Coach planned for that and more.

Keep reading for my full review of the Coach Large Kisslock Frame bag.

What I Like About the Coach Large Kisslock Frame Bag

The Coach Kisslock Frame bag is ludicrously capacious in the best way, to quote “Succession.” In fact, after the fashion show, I switched to flats and was looking for a tote to carry my knee-high boots. Imagine my surprise when they actually fit in the Frame bag — that’s how roomy it is.

To my delight, it does have a strap so if you don’t feel like hoisting a huge bag under your arm, there’s another option for carrying it hands free.

What’s Worth Noting About the Coach Large Kisslock Frame Bag

It features an inside zip pocket so you don’t have to go deep sea diving to find your wallet. But if you prefer even more organization and easy access to your smaller items, I’d invest in a handbag organizer ($7, originally $10) you can throw inside.

    Main ImageMain Image

It’s also a bold style that commands attention, which is further proof that the loud-luxury trend is having a moment. If you prefer a more understated, roomy bag, I’m equally in love with the Coach Soft Empire Carryall Bag ($695).

Who Is the Coach Large Kisslock Frame Bag Best For?

This bag marries style and function in a way that’s truly unprecedented. If you need a spacious, go-with-everything carryall but are tired of being left out of the “It bag” conversation, this is the style for you. It’s the rare head-turning conversation starter that does double duty by holding all your essentials.

The bag is perfect for everyone from a college student who needs to lug their computer back and forth to class; to a parent whose bag has to house all their kids’s snacks and toys; to a commuter like myself whose essentials need to be on hand at all times. But what sets this apart from your average roomy bag is you can tuck the handle in and be ready for any stylish event on your social calendar.

Dressing up for an event is easy, but dressing for the everyday? Now that’s an entirely different challenge. It’s one thing to coordinate an outfit for a formal occasion — weddings, work parties, even date nights at fancier restaurants often have an attached dress code that provides some sort of direction on what to wear.

But what about those exceptionally casual occasions that don’t necessarily warrant a polished “going out” look, but still require more than your basic pajamas — like days spent lounging around the house, bopping around town for a few errands, or even just walking to get a coffee?

Even the most seasoned stylists struggle to curate the perfect everyday wardrobe. Luckily for us, Anthropologie — ever the haven for versatile fashion — just debuted a new line that’s designed to take the guesswork out of dressing for the day-to-day, with pieces that are comfortable (and stylish) enough to be worn for all sorts of casual activities — anti-occasionwear, if you will.

The Daily Practice collection is a capsule of styles that are made to do it all. Crafted from the brand’s softest fabrics, this line features a wide array of pieces — from stretchy jumpsuits and parachute pants to breathable maxi dresses and cropped sweatshirts. The collection is an achievement in versatility, with ensembles that you can comfortably wear from a morning yoga class to a long afternoon lunch and beyond.

To get a full understanding of the line’s offerings, we tasked three PS editors with testing several items from the collection in their own daily wardrobe. Keep reading for our review of Anthropologie’s Daily Practice collection — and see whether the line lived up to the hype.

Shopping for a new pair of shoes takes a lot of careful thought and consideration. Sure, you can go out and just hit the “add to cart” button on the next cute pair you find in your size, but that’s how you can end up with blisters everywhere and eventually, a box that collects dust in the back of your closet.

When shopping for shoes, we look for options that hit that sweet spot between style and comfort. We like to think of ourselves as experts on this matter. We scour the internet for the latest and greatest new products, sift through thousands of reviews, and road-test items in real life to ensure they’re worth it. The latest brand we put to the test was Charlotte Stone.

The company was created in 2014 by an Ontario-born designer of the same name with the goal of making shoes fun and exciting, not daunting or uncomfortable. The website reads, “We believe that fashion, like life, is meant to be enjoyed. Not painful. Not prohibitively expensive. And not relegated to special days like birthdays and holidays.”

From a quick look at Charlotte Stone’s website, you’ll see that, visually, the brand is nailing it. The line-up includes everything from sandals to clogs, sneakers, flats, and heels, with most of the shoes coming in the brand’s signature bright, color-block hues. Whether you’re looking for a pair of shoes that’ll make you smile every time you look down at your feet or you have a vacation coming up where fun, festive footwear is in order, Charlotte Stone may have the option for you.

  • I Haven’t Taken Off This Spring Loungewear Set In 3 Days

I Haven’t Taken Off This Spring Loungewear Set In 3 Days

    [ad_1]

Every editorial product is independently selected by our editors. If you buy something through our links, we may earn commission.

Spring in Los Angeles can be unpredictable, to say the least. We can go from gorgeous 75-and-sunny days to “May gray” within a few hours. Plus, my apartment tends to skew on the chilly side, so I pretty much live in lightweight loungewear both while I’m working from home and when I’m hanging around the house during the weekend. That being said, I have a few requirements for my loungewear. Obviously comfort is top of mind — cotton or linen are my go-tos when the weather is beginning to warm up. This also means no tight waist bands or tops that I’m having to adjust to feel good in. On the other side of the coin, I want my loungewear to skew more towards chic sets over sloppy sweats — I prefer something that I can wear while I browse the aisles of Erewhon without feeling gross.

The loungewear sets from Mate the Label have stolen my heart as of late, especially the matching Organic Waffle Half-Zip Sweatshirt ($104, originally $148) and Organic Waffle Relaxed Jogger ($90, originally $128). So much so that I have reached for the duo every day for the last few days over all my other options. Ahead, I break down everything you need to know about what is about to become your new loungewear staple set.

    Main ImageMain Image

What I Like About the Mate Waffle Set

First up: the sweatshirt. Of course, the big draw of this set is the waffle texture, which makes the top feel more in line with a menswear-inspired henley (a big yes for me). I love that there is a bit more visual intrigue here than with a typical sweat set top. I’m obsessed with the pouch pocket — practical details for the win! — which can hold chilly hands or a phone and keys when I take my dog for a walk around the block. It’s super cozy and soft without being overly warm, which is ideal for transitional weather.

Now for the pants. The biggest draw for me here is that the pants don’t stretch out in the knees and butt after more than one wear. This is something I hate about sweatpants and most waffle-knit pants in general, so I was excited that the Mate pants held their shape for multiple wears. I also think the ribbed cuffs at the bottom makes these pants look super cute with a clog or a sneaker. Overall, they’re comfy, breathable, and have just enough detail to make them feel like a step above all my other cotton sweatpants.

What to Consider Before Buying This Mate Waffle Set

The first thing to consider is the sizing. I found that both the bottoms and the sweatshirt run large — I originally ordered a size small and ended up exchanging for an extra-small. I’m 5’5″ and 120 pounds, and I usually wear a size 2 or size small, so I was slightly surprised that the small in the pants were basically falling off me. If you’re super petite, even the extra-smalls might be too oversized for your waist.

The next thing to consider is the length of the pants: They’re definitely on the long side. The 5’10” model on the site is probably the ideal height for these pants if you want them not to be bunched on the bottom. I’m 5 inches shorter than her, so the pants are quite slouchy at my ankles. I don’t mind the oversized look, but the pants may require an alteration if you’re 5’4″ and under.

Who Is This Mate Waffle Set Best For?

If you love to live in loungewear but want something a little more elevated than a sweats set, the Mate waffle set is a great option. The texture and colors give the set some extra oomph that make it feel appropriate for wearing on your errands or Sunday morning coffee run.

Where Is This Mate Waffle Set Available to Shop?

The set is only available to shop on matethelabel.com.

    Additional Details

    • Both the sweatshirt and sweatpants are made from 100 percent GOTS-certified organic cotton.
    • The set comes in sizes XS through XL.
    • This style is available in three colorways: bone (my choice), jet black, and a limited edition bark.
    • The set is machine washable.

Khloé Kardashian’s fitness journey is about more than just looking good, it’s a form of self-care. “For me, working out really clears my head, makes me feel strong, and gives me the extra energy I need to show up for my kids,” Kardashian tells PS.

Combining her love of fashion and fitness, the Good American cofounder teamed up with Fabletics for a vibrant collection featuring transitional pieces for spring into summer. “This is the third volume of spring-forward pieces that reflect my love of fashion and commitment to fitness,” she says. “Each piece has special touches that make it perfect for many types of activities yet remain functional and fashionable, especially as we approach summer.” The line includes bright and bold items that can endure tough fitness routines and work for everyday life, from running errands to hanging out with friends.

The Khloé V3 Fabletics line is also the brand’s first time incorporating swimwear into the collection. “With the summer season around the corner, this felt like the right time,” Kardashian says. The swimwear pieces in the collection are as stylish as they are versatile and can be worn in the pool or paired with a denim jacket for a day spent out and about. “It’s also the first time Fabletics has launched a compression swimwear piece, which was designed with total support in mind for all types of movement, whether in water or otherwise.”

Despite a busy schedule, the mother of two makes a point to set aside time for a workout, even if it’s a quick one. “It’s important to carve out moments of time for yourself, whether that’s 10 minutes or 30 minutes, so that you can do something progressive for your mind and body,” she says.

Ahead, Kardashian shares her current favorite products, including her favorite sunscreen, her sleep-time essentials, and a few fashion staples.

Old Navy Extra High-Waisted Trouser Wide-Leg Jeans ($38, originally $55)

If you love wide-leg jeans, let us introduce you to your perfect match. These are extra high-waisted, so they sit just above the belly button, but a touch of spandex in the fabric keeps them stretchy and comfy. The front patch pockets and darted details on the legs mimic the look of trousers, so they can be dressed up or down. For more, check out our complete review of the Old Navy Extra High-Waisted Trouser Wide-Leg Jeans.

Editor Quote: “The extra-high waistline is flattering and supportive without feeling constrictive. The pants are lightweight, soft, and stretchy, so I can move freely and feel comfortable, even when I’m crouching down, sitting for long periods, or running around with my kids at the park. They look amazing with cropped sweatshirts and boxy sweaters, and I can reach up or bend over without exposing my belly button or backside. Freedom!” — Angela Elias, contributing editor, Commerce

Bianca Gates and Marisa Sharkey started Birdies because of their love of hosting and entertaining in their homes, realizing they never had the ideal footwear for this situation. “There was this big white space in the entertaining space, of the home living room, bedroom, kitchen, where there was nothing that we could put on our feet to really feel like we’re dressed up around people but also comfortable enough in our home,” Gates says. This idea sparked in her mind after watching Mr. Rogers take off his outdoor loafers and put on his indoor loafers, noting that women need something like that, too.

“We took the best components of a sneaker that you can bounce around to take care of people around your house, the best components of a slipper, that soft and satiny feeling on your feet, and the best components of a classic loafer that women love that would go with everything. And we combined the three things, and voila, we created the first-ever social slipper,” Gates says, noting that trends are leaning toward an era of maximalist comfort. As the brand grew in popularity, so did the demand for a more durable and outdoor-friendly shoe. Gates and Sharkey updated their indoor social shoe with a thicker sole that can handle the streets, cementing the brand as the stylish, cushioned everyday shoe made for the person doing it all. “A great pair of shoes definitely helps you fly through your day with ease. You can get so much done when you have this great pair of shoes that’s doing everything for you,” Sharkey says.

Beyond creating a celeb-loved shoe brand, we had to ask them about their top entertaining and dinner-party tips. “We love making people feel welcome and loved through food, ambience, music, and home decor,” Gates says. The founders are all about outsourcing when needed; in fact, both Gates and Sharkey prefer not to cook themselves. “The food is important, but it doesn’t need to be perfectly hot at the exact second, and you don’t need to be stressing about all the food details . . . I’ve just kind of taken the pressure off the food a little bit through outsourcing and realizing that’s not really what people remember when they leave. It’s all about the conversation and how people spend their time together,” Sharkey says.

Gates recommends setting the table with beautiful platters, adding a few vases of florals, and using candles as table decor with dimmed lighting so the table glows. She also recommends having a great playlist to really set the vibe. “I love my Frank Sinatra playlist. It just feels like regal and fun and jazzy and beautiful,” she says. Gates also points out that the host always leads the vibe of the night, so presenting yourself appropriately is a must. “If I’m wearing beautiful, comfortable flats and a great little outfit, people are like, oh, we’re going to be relaxing. It is going to be a chill vibe tonight and a good one; if I’m clacking around in heels, it feels more stiff and uncomfortable, so what you wear matters.”

Eva Chen is undoubtedly one of the fashion industry’s most respected journalists and global forces. After a life-changing internship in Harper’s Bazaar’s features and beauty divisions, she pivoted from her initial plans to be a doctor, choosing to work in media instead. Decades later, she boasts an accomplished résumé of prominent roles, including editor-in-chief of Lucky Magazine and beauty and health director at Teen Vogue. Chen now serves as the head of Instagram’s Fashion Partnerships team, all while sharing content with her day-to-day life with over 2.5 million followers on the platform — including the popular #EvaChenpose detail shot she coined by taking pictures of her covetable accessories during car rides. Apart from the many roles she effortlessly conquers, the 42-year-old is a proud mother of three, which has inspired a slew of children’s books, including Juno Valentine, as well as her latest venture — a kids collection with the household American brand H&M.

The collaboration gives us another glimpse at Chen’s ’90s-inspired fashion sense (think high-waisted denim and power suits), while creating eco-friendly and timeless pieces children will enjoy. “I wanted to create a collection that was at the crossroads of sustainability and style and also be something that was really accessible to families all across the US,” she tells POPSUGAR. “I have three kids, and I have a lot of my friends with kids, and the best moment for us was always sending each other hand-me-downs. And so, that kind of sense of circularity and style is really at the heart of this collection.”

“I wanted to create a collection that was at the crossroads of sustainability and style and also be something that was really accessible to families all across the US.”

The collection oozes personality with fashion-forward pieces ranging from denim-on-denim to cozy striped sweaters made of recycled materials like cotton and lyocell. Chen says her daughter’s carefree sense of style influenced the cheerful designs. “I feel like people put a lot of pressure to discover their personal style at a very early age,” she says. “But having joy and discovery in fashion and not feeling like you have to be always defined by one look or style is important. And I look at my 8-year-old daughter, and she’ll mix stripes with ruffles with polka dots and then wear two different-colored socks, but on purpose. She’s utterly unselfconscious about it, and that really inspires me.”

Ahead of the collection launch, we chatted with Chen about all the products that help her master everyday life — from her favorite white tee to a facial-toning kit. Keep reading to see her picks and shop the Eva Chen x H&M collection online and in select stores now.

Characterizing her personal style as “glam meets streetwear,” she particularly loves showcasing the curves, which much of her collection demonstrates. “My personal style does change every other day, but these are definitely pieces that I would wear and feel confident putting on,” she tells POPSUGAR. “To me, the sexiest thing you can wear is your confidence, and as long as you feel comfortable, that’s going to show.”

  • “RHONY”‘s Jessel Taank Shares Her Must Haves: From a Givenchy Diaper Bag to Paravel Luggage

“RHONY”‘s Jessel Taank Shares Her Must Haves: From a Givenchy Diaper Bag to Paravel Luggage

    [ad_1]

As POPSUGAR editors, we independently select and write about stuff we love and think you’ll like too. If you buy a product we have recommended, we may receive affiliate commission, which in turn supports our work.

Jessel Taank is making a splash on our TVs as a new cast member in season 14 of “The Real Housewives of New York,” but deciding to be a part of the hit franchise wasn’t easy. “Being Indian and from a private culture, it definitely took a lot of back-and-forth and a lot of conversations, but the more I spoke to NBC and Bravo and the powers that be, the more I was like, this could be an amazing opportunity because there’s never been an Indian in this position before,” she says. Taank is a fashion publicist and founder of PR firm The Know — and this is her first time appearing on a reality show. “I’m gonna show what a modern Indian woman first generation living in the United States looks like.”

Being the first-ever Indian-origin Housewife on Bravo inspired her tagline, which she says in the show’s opening sequence: “I always bring the flavor. It’s not my fault you don’t have any taste.” Coming up with the now-iconic line wasn’t easy. “Choosing a tagline is probably one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to do,” she says. “How do you find one sentence that packages you as a person and then you share that with the entire country and the world?!”

Taank got recommendations from NBC and a few friends, but most suggestions had the word “spice” in it, a cliché attached to Indian culture that she didn’t want to spotlight. A good friend who happens to be a writer penned her official tagline, and Taank loves that it’s a subtle nod to her roots while also speaking to her connection with fashion and style. “I thought it was really fun. It’s a little bit cheeky and not cheesy — we already don’t like cheese,” she says.

But the tagline was just the beginning. Taank acknowledges there were also challenges behind the scenes, like feeling pressure to be perfect. “I think everyone’s so nervous and you have to be this perfect person and especially Indian women, you have to be this perfect version of what an Indian woman is,” she explains. “I can honestly say the pressure of all of that is so overwhelming, you can be real and authentic and transparent about what you’re going through. It’s OK.” Taank is pleasantly surprised by the support she’s been receiving from the South Asian community, noting that although the community are their biggest critics, they do come together and support each other.

Whether it’s speaking on her IVF journey or how her relationship with her husband is portrayed on the show, Taank has no regrets about being authentic to who she is. “If I can empower people with this platform and the show, that’s all I care about.” Taank has specifically endured criticism about the state of her marriage and sex life, including divorce speculation. Addressing the topic, she tells POPSUGAR: “A lot of people are questioning my husband, Pavit, and I right now . . . He has been the biggest pillar of strength for me for my family. I just need readers to know that, having a partner that’s supportive and is always by your side is the only reason I actually got through this in the way that I did.”

As someone who works in fashion, it’s no surprise that Taank’s personal style is one to emulate. But fans might be shocked to learn she frequents one of the most affordable fast-fashion retailers. “First of all, don’t sleep on Zara,” she says. “If you just need staples, I just go there; the white T-shirt, the denim jeans, it’s so good.” She also loves shopping at Revolve and Fwrd for more contemporary brands and special occasion dresses, and she’s currently loving the work of New York-based designer Ronny Kobo.

Her style philosophy involves embracing bold accessories, from handbags to jewelry. “Everything I do, I do it with a little bit of a twist, so it’s always accessorized to make it a statement, or my earrings will always be very flamboyant. I do think the accessorizing is key,” she says. Taank is never worried about being overdressed and points out that fashion in New York is all about the freedom of self-expression. “You can be truly who you want to be . . . and no one’s gonna judge you here.” And if they do, the critique better come from someone like “RHONY” castmate Jenna Lyons.

Lyons, a revered style icon and J.Crew’s former executive creative director and president, gave Taank pointed style advice in episode two. When Taank wore two logo-heavy items at once, Lyons quipped: “Wait, no. You can’t wear Alexander Wang on your back and Balenciaga on your bag.” Taank tells POPSUGAR she wasn’t offended. “[Lyons] was 100 percent right, I’m glad she checked me. Thank god she didn’t let me go out like that; it would have been over,” Taank says. “She has this style sensibility that truly is just like she can do no wrong in my eyes.”

Taank’s passion for fashion goes beyond the show, as she’s in the process of launching Oushq, a retail platform for South Asian and Middle Eastern designers. She wants to streamline the shopping process by offering standard sizing with optional tailoring services, two- to three-day shipping times, and a vast selection of up-and-coming designers. “Indian fashion is taking a global stage. We’re having a moment with Gaurav Gupta, who’s seen on every single red carpet right now. It’s mind-blowing, and he’s showed in Paris Couture Week. The same goes for Rahul Mishra dressing Zendaya.” Taank wants to showcase Indian fashion on a bigger scale and bring more designers to the US market, emphasizing that it’s not just a platform for South Asian and Middle Eastern shoppers. Some of her favorite designers and brands include Abhishek Sharma, Kamaali Couture, and Papa Don’t Preach by Shubhika Sharma.

When she’s not giving British banter on “RHONY,” she’s spending time with her husband and her adorable twin boys, as well as watching “Love Island.” Ahead, she shared her current favorite products, including a Givenchy diaper bag and a lightweight moisturizer.

Rowing Blazers x Target Is the Colorful Collab We Needed For Fall

It’s widely known that Target has mastered the art of collaboration. With a track record spanning more than two decades, the retailer’s history of partnering with designers began in 1999 with the renowned American architect Michael Graves — and it’s been a hit ever since. Who can forget the frenzy surrounding the Lily Pulitzer line in 2019? Anna Sui’s “Gossip Girl”-inspired line? Or the triple designer revelation in 2021, featuring Rixo, Alexis, and Christopher John Rogers? Target’s knack for surprises continues as they unveil their latest venture: a partnership with the timeless American clothing brand Rowing Blazers.

The upcoming limited-edition fall collection arrives just in time for the academic year, seamlessly fusing contemporary trends with iconic preppy styles. Don’t worry, though; when it comes to catering to your unique taste, rest assured you’ll have plenty of options to choose from. The Rowing Blazers x Target collaboration boasts an impressive array of over 100 vibrant, sport-inspired pieces catering to individuals of all ages. From adults to kids, the collection spans apparel and accessories, encompassing rugby shirts, crewnecks, blazers, trousers, and jackets, as well as home, outdoor play, and even options for your four-legged friends.

Sizes will range from XXS to 5X and, per usual, affordability takes center stage. Prices will start as low as $5, and the majority of items will be priced under $30. For context, most of Rowing Blazers’s clothing goes for over $100, which is just one reason why this collaboration is so major. We already spot plaid pieces similar to the Rowing Blazers Indian Madras Camp Shirt and matching Madras shorts, as well as graphic sweaters like the “I’m a Luxury” Sweater famously worn by Princess Diana.

If the photos accurately preview what’s ahead, we’re in for a treat. One snapshot reveals a green velvet hat with the Rowing Blazers logo, a striped football, a chevron paddleball set, and blue-and-white dinnerware plates. Another showcases models donning graphic sweaters, cropped polo shirts, lively outerwear, and captivating patchwork plaid silhouettes.

Excited? Us, too. Make sure to circle early September on your calendar, because that’s when the full Rowing Blazers X Target lookbook will be revealed. While the exact date for its release is yet to be announced, mark your calendars for the official availability on Sunday, Sept. 23, while supplies last.

Keep scrolling to shop our favorite Rowing Blazers pieces and stay tuned for more details on their collaboration with Target as they’re announced.

A casual dress with sneakers is one of those timeless combinations that goes together like peanut butter and jelly — especially during the summertime. Not only are summer dresses and comfortable walking shoes great on their own, but they’ve also proven to be even better together — working in harmony to create a sporty-chic ensemble that can take you from the airport and office to post-work cocktails and beyond, all while keeping you feeling effortless and looking cool while doing it.

The style versatility of pairing a dress with sneakers is truly endless. Plus, thanks to the pandemic, we’ve all seemed to develop an even greater affinity for more casual fashion — often opting to sport a pair of trainers on our weekly outings, rather than a steep set of heels. And let’s be real: while life has returned mostly back to normal, it’s still hard to give up on the cushioned comfort that’s provided by a worn-in pair of flats. Fortunately, with the dress-and-sneaker combo, you don’t have to.

With so many trendy fashion retailers like Free People, Zara, H&M, and Nordstrom, among others, it’s easier than ever to find a staple set of sneakers to wear with dresses — and vice versa. From maxi dress styles to bodycon slips, sleeveless frocks, and more, you can pair just about any casual dress with sneakers to create the perfect daytime, summer ensemble.

To inspire some new outfits this season, we searched for the best pieces to match up with your favorite sneakers like minis (and high-tops), midis (plus slip-ons), and maxis (with classic canvas). Regardless of your style preference (we’re especially partial to pairing white sneakers with dressier looks for everyday wear) there’s an outfit combo out there to inspire a summer look that’s just perfect for you. So, grab your favorite sneakers and check out our dress picks ahead.

  • From Herbal Tea to a Bomber Jacket, Shop Falguni and Shane Peacock’s Must-Have Products

From Herbal Tea to a Bomber Jacket, Shop Falguni and Shane Peacock’s Must-Have Products

Designers and creative directors Falguni Peacock and Shane Peacock have carved a niche for themselves in the global fashion space with their traditional Indian craftsmanship, contemporary silhouettes, and glamorous aesthetic. You’ve probably seen creations from their brand on red carpets and in music videos worn by everyone from Lady Gaga to Beyoncé. Priyanka Chopra and several other celebrities wore their opulent designs at last year’s South Asian Excellence pre-Oscars celebration, plus you can spot one of their gorgeous lehengas on Sarah Jessica Parker in season one of “And Just Like That.” The Indian fashion house has always had a global approach from its inception in 2004, and we spoke to the designers behind the brand Falguni Shane Peacock about building their namesake label, their comeback to New York Fashion Week, and their current must-have products.

The husband-and-wife duo initially had two separate brands. “After we got married, it didn’t make sense to have two different brands. If it’s the same thing we both want, then why not do it together?” Falguni says. They decided to join forces and create their namesake label. The brand caters to both the South Asian market and the global market with its wide array of offerings. “We do Indian couture, we do western ready-to-wear and western couture, advanced contemporary. We’re going to start a line of accessories, too,” Falguni says. “We always designed for a well-traveled, modern woman who knew what she’s wearing,” Shane says. “She wears her traditional sarees, but she also does the modern part in terms of styling,” Falguni adds. The designers’ signature style is modern elegance, and most of their inspiration comes from traveling to truly capture that global essence, which is a core part of the brand’s DNA.

Falguni and Shane’s line started as resort wear, and at their first show in India, that collection got bought by Harrods, Villa Moda, and other global stores. They then showcased at Miami Fashion Week and LA Fashion Week. “We jumped to London fashion week, and that’s when our sensibilities, our styling, everything approach towards fashion changed. We went from a resort brand to an edgy brand,” Shane says. Around this time is when their designs were grabbing the attention of celebrities, and it inspired them to start showing at New York Fashion Week up until 2015. Although the brand is global, Falguni and Shane knew they needed to focus on building the brand in India, so they took a break from the Fashion Week shows in 2016. Falguni notes that since India is booming, it was the perfect time to grow in the that market and build brand recognition and storefronts all over the country. “What’s the point of you being so famous, if you’re not famous in your own country?” Shane points out. Now their brand is one of the most sought-after for South Asian bridal wear and more.

This year, the designers are making their comeback to New York Fashion Week, and they’ve never been more excited. “When we left off, the passion was at a very different level; it was still delicate, couture kind of a vibe. Showing at New York Fashion today, it’s more street. We’re in a time where I don’t think gendered clothing matters anymore,” Shane says. Falguni points out that the world is so much more connected, especially with Instagram in the mix: “It’s going to be an interesting space to show in.” Most recently, they showed at Indian Couture Week, complete with a Barbiecore-inspired showstopper worn by Bollywood actress Kiara Advani.

Falguni and Shane are both very passionate about their work, which makes working together a flourishing partnership. “Our personal lives and our work lives are so tangled that we don’t know whether we travel for vacation or went to work. Some work trips feel like a vacation, and vacation also feels like work because we are talking about work,” he says. When they’re not building a global design house and dressing your favorite celebs, they love to watch movies and often get inspired by them. “There are times when we’ve just taken a break from work and told everyone we’re just coming in one hour, we have a meeting, but we’ve gone, watched a movie instead,” Falguni says. From bold red lipstick to foldable sunglasses and their favorite pieces from their line, Falguni and Shane share current must-have products ahead.
