  • A New Horror Movie Is Told From a Haunted House’s Perspective

    [ad_1]

A new horror movie tells its scary story from an unexpected POV: the haunted house.

First there was Steven Soderbergh’s supernatural thriller Presence, which is told from a listless ghost’s somber perspective as it relives the events that turned it into a ghost in the first place. Then there was the slasher In a Violent Nature, which follows a resurrected killer’s gory perspective as he goes on a killing spree. And then, of course, there was Good Boy, a horror movie told from an adorable dog’s perspective as it grapples with a dark entity targeting its owner.

But what about the quintessential haunted house itself? How does the house itself feel about being the host of horrors untold? (Personally, I’d like to witness terrifying events through the figurative eyes of a stationary houseplant next.)

A Haunted House POV Horror Movie

Filmed from a spooky, abandoned home’s perspective, The House Was Not Hungry Then is a new indie horror movie about a young woman who breaks into a derelict house while searching for her missing father, only to find something far more sinister.

    An official synopsis reads:

While searching for her estranged father, a young woman breaks into an empty house in the countryside where every visitor disappears. Now she must avoid the man posing as a real estate agent who lures victims inside.

READ MORE: Insidious 6 Will See The Further Bleed Into the Real World

The film, which screened at the Cinequest film festival in 2025, was shot in Scotland and directed by Scottish-American filmmaker Harry Aspinwall.

According to a message about the movie on his website, “We are the house. I (the writer, the director) am the house. You (the viewer) are the house. We are all the house, ceaselessly watching, feeling, and – sometimes – doing.”

Aspinwall shared his inspiration for the experimental film while speaking to horror news website Bloody Disgusting. “Horror films are usually frantic, filled with breathless subjectivity. I wanted to do something different … I wondered if I could make a horror film following the same principles – of distance, of sparsity, of withholding, of brutal objectivity. No inserts, no reaction shots, nothing to tell the audience what to feel, just one single locked off wide for each room. What would that feel like to be so still, so removed from the human life that wanders in, unsuspecting?” he explained

The House Was Not Hungry Then will be available on VOD this Friday (February 13). Watch the official trailer for The House Was Not Hungry Then, below:

  • ‘Wicked: For Good’ Sets Streaming Premiere Date

    [ad_1]

Wicked: For Good is coming to streaming, if not for good then at least for the foreseeable future.

The film, the sequel to (or technically second half of) 2024’s hugely successful adaptation of the Wicked Broadway musical, premieres next month on Peacock.

Unlike so many streaming releases, Wicked: For Good will actually arrive on Peacock with a bunch of special features of the sort that used to be standard on DVD with this sort of release. The extras include a full-length commentary track by director Jon M. Chu, several featurettes on the making of the film, deleted scenes, and “podcast episodes” which could be just about anything. (It would be great if they were random episodes of Doughboys.)

READ MORE: Two Brutally Honest Kids Review Wicked: For Good

Peacock will also offer a sing-along version of the film, just in case you are a huge fan of “The Girl in the Bubble” and want to belt it out along with Ariana Grande.

Universal’s decision to turn the long-running Wicked musical, the prequel to The Wizard of Oz about the “true” story of the Wicked Witch of the West and Glinda the Good, turned out to be a very smart one, at least financially. Despite the fact that almost all of the musical’s best songs appear in its first half, the second part of the story still grossed $525 million worldwide.

That said, the movie did gross much less than the first Wicked, which earned over $758 million in theaters. And unlike the earlier film, which scored TK Oscar nominations, Wicked: For Good was completely shut out of the Academy Award nominations this year, even in the Best Original Song category, where the film had two contenders.

Wicked: For Good starts streaming on Peacock on March 20.

  • The Worst Original Songs Added to Movie Versions of Beloved Musicals

    [ad_1]

When you’re sitting down to watch an adaptation of something that was not originally a movie, you know there will be differences. Film adaptations of books take out all that unnecessary descriptive prose and replace it with images. Adaptations of plays remove the stage and have their actors walk around in three-dimensional sets instead. Adaptations of musicals, for better or for worse, almost always have an original song or two that was written just for the movie.

We all know by now that this phenomenon is pretty much always a bid for an Oscar nomination. Even non-musicals will include original pop songs or ballads, usually over their credits, to be sent to Academy voters for their consideration. But movie musicals already have songs, you point out! And rightly so, but none of those songs would be eligible for awards consideration. Only original ones. So all of these films must find some way to add in a song that wasn’t there before.

Sometimes the additions are seamless. “Maybe This Time” and “Mein Herr,” two of the most iconic numbers from Cabaret, were added for the 1972 movie version. “Hopelessly Devoted to You” and “You’re the One That I Want” weren’t in Grease until the 1978 movie. More often than not, though, the added songs stick out like a sore thumb, especially to the more eagle-eyed (eagle-eared?) fans. One of the standards for judging whether or not an added song is good is whether or not it’s been included in later productions of the stage version. Almost none of the songs in this list of terrible original movie musical songs were.

  • ‘Insidious 6’ Will See The Further Bleed Into the Real World

    [ad_1]

Scary stuff indeed! And we’re not just talking about the fact that there’s a sixth Insidious movie on the way. (We’re starting to lose count.)

New details for Insidious 6: The Bleeding World have been revealed, and it appears the latest entry in the hit horror franchise could be its most horrifying yet in terms of larger plot implications.

According to horror website Bloody Disgusting, Insidious 6 will see The Further — the dark, parasitic dimension that exists parallel to the world of the living, where malevolent entities linger — begin to seep into the real world for the first time.

A reported official synopsis for the new film reads:

A trio of stalkers infiltrate a quiet suburb and force a new family into the astral plane, where they uncover a terrifying truth: The Further is bleeding into the real world.

Per the synopsis, the film will introduce a new family and follow their own unique encounter with The Further, with the Lambert family’s story having concluded in 2023’s Insidious: The Red Door. The fifth film in the series serves as a direct sequel to 2013’s Insidious: Chapter 2.

Directed by Jacob Chase, who directed the 2020 horror film Come Play, the upcoming Insidious installment is set to star Amelia Eve, Island Austin, Sam Spruell, Brandon Perea, Maisie Richardson-Sellers, and Lin Shaye.

In November 2025, Shaye, who has appeared as fan-favorite paranormal investigator Elise Rainier in every Insidious film since the first film in 2011, debunked rumors that Insidious 6 will mark her final film role. She also teased more from the world of Insidious yet to come.

“False information that this Insidious is ‘my last film’ and/or is ‘last film of the franchise.’ We are just getting started!” the actress wrote on Facebook, emphasizing in a separate comment, “No truth!”

Insidious 6: The Bleeding World is scheduled to release in theaters on August 21, 2026.

  • A Man Rode Disneyland’s ‘Cars’ Ride 15,000 Times

    [ad_1]

Every theme park fan has a favorite ride. If they’re lucky, maybe they get to ride it twice in a single visit. If they live near Disneyland or Universal Studios, they can probably go a couple dozen times in a lifetime. In the grand scheme of things, that’s a lot when you think about it.

But a couple dozen times is nothing for Jon Hale of Brea, California. Hale has ridden Radiator Springs Racers, the Cars-themed attraction at Disneyland’s California Adventure Park, over 15,000 times.

That is not a typo. He’s been on the Cars ride more than 15,000 times.

According to ABC, “Hale’s love for the Cars-themed ride began in 2012 when he visited the park for the first time since having a gastric bypass surgery, two knee replacements and losing over 150 pounds. He celebrated by getting on the attraction.”

Since then, he has documented his thousands and thousands of rides on his Instagram account. He hit 15,000 rides on December 8, 2025.

READ MORE: Couples Can Now Get Married at Disneyland’s Haunted Mansion

Radiator Springs Racers takes a photo of you each time you ride, so Hale has photographic evidence of each of his rides. He told ABC he writes down each one of the 15,000 rides in a notebook “where I keep track of the ride’s number. I also keep track of the lane for the race… And the color of the car, and whether or not I win the race.”

This video shows all the milestone bylines:

I can’t imagine going on any Disneyland ride 100 times, much less 1,000, much less 15,000. (Hale notes on his Instagram account that it took him “1,123 days at Racers averaging 13.35 rides per visit” to hit 15,000 rides. 13 rides per visit!) Honestly I can’t imagine doing anything in my life 15,000 times. How much do you have to love anything to do it 15,000 times? I would love to go to Disneyland 1,123 times, but I think I’d probably want to go on the Haunted Mansion once or twice too.

Anyway, this is a legitimately impressive accomplishment, and I doubt anyone will ever even come close to matching it. But just to be safe, I recommend Jon Hale keep going until he hits 20,000.

  • The Best Movies to Win the Razzie for Worst Picture

    [ad_1]

Every spring since 1981, the crummiest movies of the year vie for a $4.97 gold spray-painted statuette and the dubious title of “Worst Picture” from the Golden Raspberry Awards — also known as the Razzies.

Unlike the mysterious Hollywood Foreign Press Association that doles out the Golden Globes, or the invite-only Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences that selects the winners of the Oscars, anyone who pays a $40 membership fee can join the Razzies and vote on its awards. Get enough of your friends together and form a voting bloc and you too could influence the future of bad movie awards.

The Razzies are well-known in the movie world because they have been around for almost half a century, and because they give out their awards the day before the Oscars. A few famous filmmakers have even acknowledged them. Sandra Bullock showed up in person to collect her prize for All About Steve, and last year Francis Ford Coppola wrote a lengthy acceptance speech for his trophy on his social media.

“In this wreck of a world today, where ART is given scores as if it were professional wrestling,” Coppola wrote, “I chose to NOT follow the gutless rules laid down by an industry so terrified of risk that despite the enormous pool of young talent at its disposal, may not create pictures that will be relevant and alive 50 years from now.”

He might be on to something. Through the years, some winners of the Razzies’ highest — or really lowest — honor have gone on to fame, not as ridiculed disasters, but as beloved cult classics. Below, I’ve selected the 10 best winners of the Razzies’ Worst Picture award. Admittedly, few qualify as cinematic masterpieces. The worst movies of their years, though? I don’t know about that…

  • Steven Spielberg Just Achieved EGOT Status Thanks to His First Grammy Win

    [ad_1]

Legendary filmmaker Steven Spielberg is officially in the exclusive EGOT club after winning his first-ever Grammy award.

Spielberg won his first Grammy award at the 68th Annual Grammy Awards Sunday night (February 1). The Jaws director was one of the winners of the award for Best Music Film for his work as a video producer on Music by John Williams, the 2024 Disney+ documentary honoring the 70-year career of the famed composer who worked with Spielberg on scores for films such as Schindler’s List, Jaws, and E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial.

EGOT recipients are far and few between. The acronym, which stands for Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony, is a designation given to people in the entertainment industry who have won at least one of each trophy across the four major U.S. television, music, film, and theater award ceremonies.

To date, Spielberg has won 11 Emmy awards (four Primetime Emmy awards and seven Daytime Emmy awards); one Grammy award; three Oscar awards; and one Tony award, the latter for his work producing the Broadway musical A Strange Loop, Variety confirmed.

Less than two dozen people have achieved a competitive EGOT status to date, with Spielberg joining a small list that also includes Mel Brooks, Audrey Hepburn, Whoopi Goldberg, Elton John, and Alan Menken.

A handful of stars, including Barbra Streisand and Liza Minnelli, have achieved honorary EGOT status. Only one individual, songwriter Robert Lopez, has ever achieved a double EGOT.

Spielberg received the Grammy award for Best Music Film alongside video director Laurent Bouzereau and fellow producers Sara Bernstein, Laurent Bouzereau, Justin Falvey, Darryl Frank, Brian Grazer, Ron Howard, Meredith Kaulfers, Kathleen Kennedy, Frank Marshall, and Justin Wilkes.

This was Spielberg’s first Grammy nomination. Spielberg’s next film, Disclosure Day, is scheduled to open in theaters on June 12, 2026.

  • Kevin Costner’s Notorious Post-Apocalypse Movie Now Streaming on Prime Video

    [ad_1]

Universal Pictures’ post-apocalyptic action movie starring Kevin Costner has just been added to Prime Video‘s library. The 1995 film’s production was notorious for being the most expensive movie ever made at the time of its release. Despite being one of the highest-grossing movies of that year, it still failed to recover its massive budget, which was reportedly around $172-175 million.

What Kevin Costner movie is now available on Prime Video today?

Beginning today, Costner’s iconic Waterworld movie is now officially available to stream on Prime Video. During its theatrical run, the movie received mixed reviews from critics and the audience, who, despite being impressed with the movie’s futuristic sets and promising premise, were disappointed by its direction and plot. It currently holds an approval rating of 60% on Rotten Tomatoes. Even though it was initially labeled as a box office failure, the movie eventually garnered a cult following after the studio found success in its home video release and post-cinema sales.

“After the melting of the polar ice caps, most of the globe is underwater. Some humans have survived, and even fewer still, notably the Mariner, have adapted to the ocean by developing gills,” reads the synopsis. “A loner by nature, the Mariner reluctantly befriends Helen and her young companion, Enola (Tina Majorino), as they escape from a hostile artificial island. Soon, the sinister Smokers are pursuing them in the belief that Enola holds the key to finding the mythical Dryland.”

Waterworld was directed by Kevin Reynolds from a script written by Peter Rader and David Twohy. The movie also starred Dennis Hopper as The Deacon, Jeanne Tripplehorn as Helen, Tina Majorino as Enola, Gerard Murphy as The Nord, Robert LaSardo as Smitty, Michael Jeter as Old Gregor, and Lee Arenberg as Djeng. It also featured a brief appearance from a then-up-and-coming actor, Jack Black, before his breakout role in 1999’s High Fidelity. It was produced by Costner, Charles Gordon, and John Davis.

  • Essential Catherine O’Hara Movies on Streaming

    [ad_1]

Hearts all over the world are broken in the wake of Catherine O’Hara’s death. The beloved actress has died at the age of 71, her family confirmed on January 30. Known for her dynamic, collaborative, and deliciously eccentric performances, O’Hara leaves behind a legacy of comedic roles and larger-than-life characters across both film and television.

Of course, Gen X’ers and millennials (such as this writer) will agree O’Hara was a bona fide pop culture staple growing up. The Canadian-American star graced our screens generously in the ‘80s and ‘90s, making us double over with laughter in iconic films such as Home Alone and Beetlejuice. (The haunted dinner performance scene from the latter is forever seared into my brain, as is her increasingly relatable line delivery of, “If I can’t gut this house and make it my own, I will go insane and I will take you with me!” It would appear this former Lydia has slowly transformed into a Delia with age.)

The Emmy-winning comedy legend teamed up with Tim Burton a number of times over the course of her career, on films such as the aforementioned Beetlejuice as well as its sequel, Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, The Nightmare Before Christmas, and Frankenweenie. She lent her voice to countless other animated films, too, including Monster House, The Addams Family, and The Wild Robot, imbuing her characters with a graceful sense of empathy.

READ MORE: Great Rob Reiner Movies on Streaming

O’Hara was also a frequent collaborator with her pal Eugene Levy. The pair worked together on Best in Show, For Your Consideration, and A Mighty Wind, among others, as well as their hit series Schitt’s Creek. Speaking of which, she was certainly no stranger to television, appearing in shows like 30 Rock, Modern Family, and most recently The Last of Us. Perhaps poetically, her final on-screen appearance was as herself in the 2025 documentary John Candy: I Like Me, which celebrated her late friend and SCTV co-star.

While O’Hara dazzled on screen for decades, delivering some of the entertainment industry’s most memorable characters, I believe she’ll best be remembered for her palpable warmth and levity. Below, discover five Catherine O’Hara films considered essential viewing, available to watch at home right now.

    Beetlejuice

Many folks’ first memorable encounter with O’Hara on screen came in 1988, when the then-34-year-old appeared as artsy yuppie Delia Deetz, stepmother of Winona Ryder’s angst-ridden teen Lydia, in Tim Burton’s iconic horror-comedy Beetlejuice. In a film absolutely stacked with larger-than-life performances, O’Hara holds her own — even against Michael Keaton’s scenery-chewing ghoul — stealing each scene she is in with all the drama of a narcissistic artist trapped in suburban hell. O’Hara embraces the self-absorbed, avant-garde sculptor without judgment, infusing a character that could have easily been reduced to a caricature with a natural, albeit high-strung charm, resulting in a lasting (and, to some, aspirational) fan-favorite.

Beetlejuice is available to stream via VOD on Amazon Prime Video. Its sequel, Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, is streaming on HBO Max.

    Waiting for Guffman

Sheila Albertson, the Missouri travel agent with Hollywood dreams despite a clear lack of talent, is undoubtedly the standout character from 1996’s mockumentary Waiting for Guffman, which follows a group of smalltown would-be thespians as they put on a musical at their community theater. O’Hara plays the deluded Sheila with believably desperate ambition and hilariously cringeworthy cornball energy. Her unhinged chemistry with Fred Willard, who plays Sheila’s equally deluded husband Ron, only adds to an already excellent performance. Their comedy as a couple whipped up by delusions of small-town stardom is largely improvised, and the scene in which the married pair perform “Midnight at the Oasis” is breathtakingly, tear-inducingly funny. O’Hara gives it her all from start to finish, and she makes no apologies for it.

Waiting for Guffman is available to stream via VOD on Amazon Prime Video.

    Home Alone

Home Alone is Macaulay Culkin’s movie, no doubt, but O’Hara is certainly an essential ingredient to the film’s generational impact. As Kevin McCallister’s mom Kate, O’Hara injects what could have been a necessary but unremarkable role with emotional weight, unexpected levity, and familiar warmth. Though Kevin feels dismissed and unheard in the chaos of his large family, his bond with Kate is the heart of the 1990 film, and Kate’s mom-guilt is heartbreakingly palpable when she realizes they’ve left Kevin behind. She’s a force to be reckoned with as a mother desperate to reunite with her child, and when she tells the airport gate agent she’s going to get back to her son even “if I have to sell my soul to the devil himself,” we firmly believe her. Plus, her brief interactions with John Candy are comedy gold; for a brief moment, their chemistry takes center stage.

Home Alone is available to stream via subscription on Disney+.

    Best in Show

O’Hara delivers one of her more outrageous character performances as middle-class dog show trainer Cookie Fleck in the cult 2000 mockumentary Best in Show. Alongside Eugene Levy, who plays her husband Gerry, O’Hara leans into the absurdity of the competitive dog show world. As if the premise weren’t funny enough, her character is defined by uncomfortable humor. Cookie is constantly and bluntly oversharing about her life, especially when it comes to her wildly promiscuous past and many former lovers, much to Gerry’s quiet horror. (A running gag throughout the film is Cookie’s near-constant encounters with a string of enthusiastic, flirty past flings.) Cookie is eccentric, chatty, high-strung, socially-awkward, and earnest, which the actress plays effortlessly, but O’Hara’s at her very best when she and Levy are bouncing off each other as the strangely compatible Florida couple wholly devoted to their dog, Winky.

Best in Show is available to stream via VOD on Amazon Prime Video.

    The Nightmare Before Christmas

O’Hara lent her voice to countless animated characters during her five decades in film, but no vocal performance is more memorable than her role as Sally in 1993’s The Nightmare Before Christmas. O’Hara’s tender, lilting performance imbues the restless rag doll with a sense of gentle strength and complex melancholy perceptible to even the youngest viewers. Slightly breathy and melodic, Sally’s voice mirrors her fragile yet resilient nature, and her heartbreak is painfully tangible when she sings “Sally’s Song.” But O’Hara’s Sally is never reduced to the sum of her stitched-together parts; she’s also mischievous and spirited, such as when she brazenly drugs Dr. Finkelstein’s soup, as well as courageous and clever, like when she attempts to rescue Santa Claus using her feminine wiles.

The Nightmare Before Christmas is available to stream via subscription on Disney+.

  • Final ‘Fast and Furious’ Gets Official Title and Release Date

    [ad_1]

Fast & Furious fans have been waiting with baited breath for almost three years for the resolution of the cliffhanger at the end of Fast X. The tenth film in the long-running franchise was supposed to be the first part of a two-part finale. But Fast X encountered some production difficulties — the film’s first director, Justin Lin departed shortly after production began, and was replaced by Louis Leterrier — and a weak reception at the box-office. (The film earned $714 million worldwide, which sounds incredible until you learn that was less than the five previous movies and cost somewhere in the neighborhood of $340 million to make.)

Finally, almost three full years later, it looks like Fast X 2 is finally revving up for real. Star/producer Vin Diesel revealed on his Instagram account that the movie has a new release date in the spring of 2028, as well as a new title: Fast Forever.

“No one said the road would be easy,” Diesel wrote. “but it’s ours.”

“One that has defined us and become our legacy. And a legacy … lasts forever.”

The image attached to the photo is from the very first The Fast and the Furious, from way back in 2001. It’s the scene at the end of the movie when Paul Walker’s Brian O’Conner gives his car to Diesel’s Dominic Toretto to allow him to escape from the police, formally launching the bromance that would continue through the franchise until Walker’s death during production of 2015’s Furious 7.

Despite Walker’s death, Diesel has publicly stated his desire for his character to appear in this final Fast film. (Although Walker passed away, his character was merely written out of the series, retiring from a life of international espionage and driving fast to raise his son.) Walker’s role in Furious 7 was completed with the use of body doubles and CGI, so it’s not quite that outrageous that Diesel would want to do something similar here. Still, the degree of difficulty of recreating a live-action person who died a decade ago in a movie is very high, like taking a street racer into outer space.

Fast Forever is now scheduled to open in theaters on March 17, 2028.

“When we preserve films, we preserve American culture for generations to come. These selections for the National Film Registry show us that films are instrumental in capturing important parts of our nation’s story. We are proud to continue this important work, adding a broad range of 25 films to the National Film Registry as a collective effort in the film community to protect our cinematic heritage,” Acting Librarian of Congress Robert R. Newlen said in a statement.

  • The 50 Best Superhero Movies of the Last 50 Years

    [ad_1]

Most fictional genres date back centuries, if not millennia. Actors performed comedies back in ancient Greece. Audiences flocked to musicals in the 1890s, and as soon as movies gained the ability to talk, they started singing as well. (Literally the first sync sound motion picture ever made was also the first movie musical.)

Superheroes, by comparison, belong to a relatively young genre. They only emerged from the pages of comic books in the late 1930s. And while a handful of their stars were adapted to movie serials in the 1940s, it took decades for film technology to catch up to the imaginations of the graphic artists at Marvel, DC Comics, and elsewhere.

It’s only in the last 50 years that superhero films have really taken off, and it’s only in the last 20 years that they exploded in popularity, thanks to the adaptations of those famous Marvel and DC properties like Spider-Man, Batman, and, to a far lesser extent, Jonah Hex. So why not rank those 50 years of superhero movies and, since that’s a nice big, round number, why not pick the best 50 superhero movies from that span of time? That gives me plenty of space to include all the best Spider-Mans, the best Batmans, plus the best superheroes that aren’t by Marvel or DC — or based on existing comic-book IP at all. Read on to see all 50 of my picks.

(Spoiler alert: Jonah Hex did not make the cut.)

Here are the 50 essential superhero movies over the last half century. (No, Batman & Robin didn’t make the cut.)

  • Avatar’s Stephen Lang & Eighth Grade’s Elsie Fisher Star in The Optimist Trailer

    [ad_1]

Falco Ink and Trafalgar Releasing have released a new trailer for The Optimist, a new movie starring Stephen Lang and Elsie Fisher. The Optimist will release in theaters on March 11, 2026.

“For more than sixty years, children’s store owner Herbert Heller (Lang) has lived with the weight of the horrors he endured as a 15-year-old imprisoned in Terezin and Auschwitz,” reads the film’s official synopsis. “As illness forces him to confront the silence he has kept—even from his own family—he forms a surprising friendship with Abbey (Fisher), a teenager navigating her own emotional fractures. Through their growing connection, Herbert is inspired to finally share his truth, opening a path toward empathy, forgiveness, and renewal.

Check out The Optimist trailer below (watch other trailers):

What happens in The Optimist trailer?

The Optimist trailer follows the story of Herbert, a children’s store owner and Holocaust survivor. While he struggles to confront the past he’s dealt with, he forms a friendship with Abbey, a teenager also navigating their own issues.

Alongside Lang, The Optimist also stars Elsie Fisher, best known for her breakout role in Eighth Grade. The pair are also joined by Luke David Blumm, Leah Pipes, Ben Geurens, Ursula Parker, Slavko Sobin, Stella Stocker, Oskar Hes, and Robin Weigert. The Optimist is written and directed by Finn Taylor.

Lang was most recently seen in 2025’s Avatar: Fire and Ash, where he reprises his role as Colonel Miles Quaritch. He also starred in the sequel film Sisu: Road to Revenge, a sequel to 2022’s Sisu. Lang will next appear in 2026’s Hellfire, as well as the upcoming Gettysburg 1863. Since her role in Eighth Grade, Fisher has appeared in a litany of films, most recently 2025’s Tow. She’ll next appear in Latchkey Kids and Hypergalactic.

  • Every Sam Raimi Movie, Ranked From Worst to Best

    [ad_1]

Sam Raimi does not make a lot of movies. In the last 15 years, he’s only directed three films: The big-budget Wizard of Oz prequel Oz the Great and Powerful, the Doctor Strange sequel Multiverse of Madness, and his most recent effort, 2026’s Send HelpWhile he’s had a hand in creating some other projects through his production companies, Raimi has only directed 16 feature films over the course of 40+ year career.

But most of Raimi’s 16 films range from good to flat-out classics, which makes them especially fun to rank. While he’s best known for his work in the horror and superhero genres, Raimi has also dabbled in sports movies, crime films, and even a western. They’re not all masterpieces, but the man has maintained an impressive level of quality across his four decades behind the camera — or occasionally next to the camera while it’s nailed to a wooden board and run toward Bruce Campbell at top speed.

Below, I’ve rated every Sam Raimi movie up to and including Send Help. Which is the best Spider-Man? What Evil Dead reigns supreme? The answers, at least according to me, may surprise you…

  • Underrated Jackie Chan Action Movie Starts Streaming on Peacock Today

    [ad_1]

Peacock has officially added one of 2023’s underrated action comedy movies starring legendary actor Jackie Chan to its 2026 movie library. Featuring the Rush Hour star as an old-school stunt performer, Ride On is now finally available to stream on Peacock.

What do we know about Jackie Chan’s Ride On movie?

Ride On was written and directed by Larry Yang. Besides Chan, the movie also starred Kevin Guo, Haocun Liu, Yueting Lang, Andy On, Hang Su, Jing Wu, Shenyang Xiao, Xing Yu, Ailei Yu, Rongguang Yu, Joey Yung, and more. It currently holds an approval rating of 64% on Rotten Tomatoes, based on 33 reviews.

“After two debt collectors attempt to seize a stunt horse belonging to washed-up stuntman Luo, video of the ensuing confrontation–and the dynamic duo’s narrow acrobatic escape–goes viral on social media,” reads the official synopsis. “Furious at being humiliated online, the debt collectors return to seek revenge, leaving Luo and Red Hare to engage in a series of hilarious, action-packed antics that outdo even the most daring acts from their glory days.”

Executive producers are Ruoqing Fu, Haifeng Li, Yanming Liu, and Hai Yang, with Victoria Hon, Belle Lau, Jerry Li, Yuan Nong, Tianfu Xu, and Huixia Zhang serving as producers. The creative team consists of cinematographer Ming Sun, editor Super Zhang, composer Loudboy, production designer Li Sun, and costume designer Po Yee Wong.

Last year, Chan reprised his role as Mr. Han in Sony Pictures’ Karate Kid: Legends movie, where he was able to star opposite franchise lead Ralph Macchio’s iconic Daniel LaRusso. At the moment, Paramount Pictures is actively trying to develop a Rush Hour 4. Chan, Chris Tucker, and franchise director Brett Ratner are expected to return.

  • Jason Momoa’s Lobo Debuts in New ‘Supergirl’ Trailer

    [ad_1]

Aquaman is now the Main Man.

After headlining two solo Aquaman movies, and appearances in Batman v Superman and Justice League, Jason Momoa has managed to jump DC Universes to the new one being overseen by Superman director James Gunn. Momoa will play Lobo in the upcoming Supergirl movie and today Gunn shared the first good look at Momoa in costume as the character.

There’s a little more of Momoa in action as Lobo in this new 30 second teaser as well.

READ MORE: The Worst Performances Ever in DC Movies

Lobo — who’s nickname is “The Main Man” — was created by Roger Slifer and Keith Giffen in the pages of a comic called Omega Men in the early 1980s. A ruthless alien bounty hunter, he gradually accumulated a loyal fanbase thanks his outlandish outer space adventures and his snarky attitude.

He was kind of like Deadpool before Deadpool. And he grew so popular by the middle of the 1990s that when DC and Marvel did their first major crossover miniseries in 1996, DC vs. Marvel, and the two companies squared off all their biggest heroes in fights, Lobo got the honor of fighting Wolverine. (He lost, in a fight determined by fan voting, but still.)

The character has appeared in various cartoons before, but he’s never been portrayed in live-action before. DC has discussed the possibility of a Lobo movie for well over a decade, with filmmakers like Guy Ritchie and Michael Bay involved at various points. One presumes that if Momoa’s performance in Supergirl is well-received, it could reignite those discussions again.

    Here is Supergirl’s official synopsis:

“Supergirl,” DC Studios’ newest feature film to hit the big screen, will be in theaters worldwide this summer from Warner Bros. Pictures, starring Milly Alcock in the dual role of Supergirl/Kara Zor-El.  Craig Gillespie directs the film from a screenplay by Ana Nogueira.

Supergirl is scheduled to open in theaters on June 26.
