  • Early prenatal care, considered best for moms and babies, is on the decline in the US, data shows

    [ad_1]

Early prenatal care improves the chances of having a healthy pregnancy and baby. But a new federal report shows it’s been on the decline. The share of U.S. births to women who began prenatal care in the first trimester dropped from 78.3% in 2021 to 75.5% in 2024, according to data released by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on Thursday.Meanwhile, starting care later in pregnancy or getting no care at all has been on the rise. Prenatal care beginning in the second trimester rose from 15.4% to 17.3%, and starting care in the third trimester or getting no care went from 6.3% to 7.3%.“We know that early engagement in prenatal care is linked to better overall health outcomes,” said Dr. Clayton Alfonso, an OB-GYN at Duke University in North Carolina. When patients delay medical care during pregnancy, “we’ve missed that window to optimize both fetal and maternal care.”While the trend identified in the report held for nearly all racial and ethnic groups, the decrease in early prenatal care was higher for moms in minority groups. For example, first-trimester care dropped from 69.7% in 2021 to 65.1% in 2024 for Black mothers. Getting late or no prenatal care raises the risk of maternal mortality, which is much higher among Black mothers.Michelle Osterman, lead author of the report, said the overall findings represent a shift. Between 2016 and 2021, the timing of when U.S. women started prenatal care had been improving. The earlier prenatal visits begin, doctors said, the earlier problems can be caught. Visits give doctors a chance to share health guidance, and can include blood pressure checks, screenings, blood tests, physical exams and ultrasound scans. The report doesn’t provide reasons why prenatal care is starting later. But the proliferation of maternity care deserts across the nation is a growing concern, said Dr. Grace Ferguson, an OB-GYN in Pittsburgh. Many hospitals have shut down labor and delivery units “and the prenatal care providers that work at those hospitals also have probably moved,” said Ferguson, who was not involved with the report.A 2024 March of Dimes report found that more than 35% of U.S. counties are maternity care deserts, meaning there’s no birthing facility or obstetric provider. Women living in these areas receive less prenatal care, the report showed.Ferguson, who provides abortions as part of her OB-GYN care, said post-Roe v. Wade abortion restrictions may play a part because some obstetricians are choosing not to practice in states with more restrictive laws.Alfonso, who was not involved in the CDC report, said he also suspects that access issues for patients are pushing prenatal care later, particularly in rural areas. Patients may have to travel farther to get to appointments and may struggle to find a practice that accepts their insurance, particularly if they have Medicaid.Doctors fear that things could get worse.“If this trend continues,” Alfonso said, “I worry about kind of what that would mean for morbidity and mortality for our moms.”

Hailey and Justin, who tied the knot in September 2018, welcomed Jack, 18 months, in August 2024. The couple’s son arrived just over two years after Hailey founded her skincare brand, Rhode. (Hailey sold the brand to e.l.f. Beauty for $1 million in May 2025.)

Hailey said at the Vogue event that becoming a mother helped her become a better businesswoman.

“I am a very big believer in our ‘nos’ being more powerful than our ‘yeses,’ and becoming a mom has made me refocus on what’s important to me,” the model said. “Sometimes it’s hard and painful to say no to things, but I also think that saying no ends up serving you more in the end, because then you can show up in other spaces at your best self.”

Hailey previously opened up about the shift in her priorities after becoming a mother in a November 2025 interview with GQ.

“A typical day at home for me is I get up with my son, hit a workout as much as I can,” she said at the time. “I’ve become a lot more of a homebody than I used to be. And I think when you have a child, that happens, at least it did for me. It definitely made me have so much less FOMO. I just love to spend time with my son. He’s growing so fast and it’s gone by so fast, and it starts to become more and more real how much you want to soak up that time.”

Richie and Joel welcomed their daughter in January 2008. They welcomed their second child, son Sparrow (full name Sparrow James Midnight Madden), the following year in September 2009.

The couple tied the knot in December 2010 after four years of dating. Both Richie and Joel have since kept their family life out of the public eye as much as possible.

“One of the biggest differences in the way I’m raising my kids versus the way I was raised is that I was on tour a lot. I don’t really do that with my kids,” Richie explained to DuJour Magazine in September 2012 of her approach to parenting. “It’s important to me that they have stability. I like them to be home. … I was taken out of school and had tutors. By the time my father [Lionel Richie] went onstage, I was asleep.”

Nicole, meanwhile, has shared throwback photos and given fans glimpses at their home life via Instagram on special occasions, including her daughter’s 13th birthday in January 2021.

Today you are 13,” the Simple Life alum captioned a birthday tribute at the time. “You light up my life with your presence and have no problem lighting up my bedroom with your bright phone screen. Nothing is better than watching you become the young woman you are. I am so lucky I get to be your mom. Happy Birthday to my favorite girl in the world.”

Later that year, Nicole revealed whether she’d be happy to see her kids become reality stars like she was a teenager.

    [ad_1]

Singer-songwriter Willa Ford has spoken out in defense of Ashley Tisdale French’s former mom group after the Disney Channel alum’s viral essay detailing their allegedly “toxic” behavior.

Ford, 44, revealed during a Friday, January 9, interview with Page Six Radio that she is close friends with Kelsey Deenihan and Janice Gott, two moms who have been photographed hanging out with French, 40. Mandy Moore, Hilary Duff and Meghan Trainor were also known to be part of the mom group.

“Kelsey and Janice are ride or dies. I went through a divorce. These were women who were by my side, who are wonderful humans just in general, not just in the business,” Ford said. “My girlfriends didn’t deserve this. They’re not actresses. Their faces didn’t deserve to be plastered.”

Deenihan is a celebrity makeup artist, while Gott is the founder of the breast pump company Muu.

Ashley Tisdale French set off a firestorm with her once-tight circle of celebrity moms after she abruptly left the group and proceeded to write an essay about former friends’ “toxic” behavior. “The root of the issues was that some of the women just became closer friends with each other, and Ashley started to feel left […]

Ford also said that she has met French, calling the High School Musical star “so lovely.”

“Everybody has always been nice to me and wonderful to me, so I don’t know what happened [in the group],” she continued. “Mean things can happen. We can also make mistakes as people. Feeling left out is a real feeling. It’s crap. We all know that. But I don’t know what happened and I do know two of those women really well and I know that bullying is not in their DNA. So I just feel like it would’ve been nice if the communication maybe could have been done differently.”

Ford said she thinks the issue will “resolve itself” despite the public attention on it.

French made headlines after she published a January 1 essay for The Cut titled, “Breaking Up With My Toxic Mom Group.” She detailed feeling excluded from the group and how she ultimately left the friendships behind, although she did not name anyone specific in the piece.

“I remember being left out of a couple of group hangs, and I knew about them because Instagram made sure it fed me every single photo and Instagram Story,” she wrote. “I was starting to feel frozen out of the group, noticing every way that they seemed to exclude me. … I told myself it was all in my head, and it wasn’t a big deal. And yet, I could sense a growing distance between me and the other members of the group, who seemed to not even care that I wasn’t around much.”

Ashley, who shares daughters Jupiter, 3, and Emerson, 15 months, with husband Christopher French, said she eventually texted the group, “This is too high school for me, and I don’t want to take part in it anymore.”

As the essay went viral, fans speculated that French was talking about her mom group with Moore, 41, Duff, 38, and Trainor, 32. However, a rep for the actress denied the rumors in a statement to TMZ.

In January 2026, Ashley — who shares two daughters with husband Christopher French — raised eyebrows with an essay for The Cut titled “Breaking Up With My Toxic Mom Group” as she candidly […]

A source exclusively told Us Weekly on Wednesday, January 8, that the “root of the issues” in the group was that “some of the women just became closer friends with each other, and Ashley started to feel left out.”

“There were times when hangouts or get-togethers were organized at the last minute, often casual outings or quick dinners, and Ashley wasn’t included. There wasn’t any bad intent. Friendships naturally changed and some people bonded more than others,” the source added, noting that the other moms “didn’t mean to exclude her.”

“They felt like she made a bigger deal out of everything. The tension largely came from what the group saw as a clash in priorities and values,” the source continued. “There were a lot of bonding moments Ashley felt she missed out on.”

Trainor is so far the only celeb mom friend of French’s to directly address the drama.

“Me finding out about the apparent mom group drama,” she captioned a TikTok video on Wednesday. The clip showed Trainor sitting at a desk and typing on a computer, with her 2025 single “Still Don’t Care” playing over the footage.

  • Billie Lourd Reflects on Her Mom Carrie Fisher’s Death 9 Years Later

    [ad_1]

Billie Lourd has reflected on the death of her mother Carrie Fisher nine years ago.

“It has been 9 years since my mom died,” Lourd, 33, wrote via Instagram on Saturday, December 27. “My daughter woke up earlier than usual this morning so we went outside together and she knowingly laid her little head on my chest. She looked up at me with her big soulful eyes and said ‘I love you mama’ and grabbed my face with her little chubby hands and kissed me.”

The American Horror Story actress shared that her daughter, Jackson Joanne, 3, greets her with a kiss “pretty much every morning.” (Lourd and her husband, Austen Rydell, also share a 5-year-old son, Kingston Fisher.)

“Dare I say, there is no better way to wake up and no ritual I love more,” she contended. “I told her how much her grandmomby would have loved her and she looked up at me and kissed me again.”

Billie Lourd admitted she’s feeling “griefy but grateful” as she marked the eighth anniversary of her mom Carrie Fisher’s death. Opening up about her complicated feelings about the sombre occasion, Lourd shared an emotional tribute alongside a throwback image of herself with her late mom via Instagram on Friday, December 27. “It has been 8 […]

Billie spent the anniversary of Fisher’s 2016 death by watching her own father, Hollywood talent agent Bryan Lourd, run around with her kids “like 2 old souls that have known each other forever.”

“Watching my dad with my kids is one of the greatest joys I’ve ever known,” Lourd beamed. “The kind of joy that makes your face hurt because you can’t stop smiling, the kind of joy that makes you feel like your life is a movie you thought only existed in movies. But then you take a step back and realize that it’s better than any movie could ever be.”

In that special moment, Billie remembered thinking that “this joy wouldn’t be possible without my mom.”

“This joy only exists because she existed,” she realized. “So even though she is not physically part of this joy, she is part of the reason for it. Even though she is not alive she lives on through this joy.”

Billie acknowledged that her “grief takes on many shapes” but now she mostly feels “joy” that her children get to spend time with their grandfather.

“[My feelings] could and will change shapes multiple times throughout this day because grief is never just one thing but right now I am relishing in this bittersweet grieful joy,” she concluded. “As my mom wisely said, ‘Nothing is ever really over. Just over there.’ My mombys life isnt really over. Just over there — in my kids and in this joy I’m able to experience because of her. Thank you momby. I will never stop missing you.”

Fisher died on December 27, 2016, after suffering a cardiac arrest on a London-to-Los Angeles flight following the completion of a book tour in Europe. A coroner’s report determined that Fisher had cocaine, heroin, other opiates and MDMA in her system.

Compounding Billie’s grief, her grandmother — and Fisher’s mother — Debbie Reynolds died one day later from a blood vessel that ruptured and caused bleeding in her brain.

Billie looked back on her mother’s longtime struggle with addiction on what would have been Fisher’s 68th birthday in October 2024. (Fisher spoke openly about her experiences with bipolar disorder and drug addiction throughout her life.)

“I did everything in my power to help my mom get sober but sadly my mom couldn’t ever escape her addiction. But while she was alive she always shared the ups and downs of that struggle with others in hopes it would help them escape their own addiction,” Lourd explained via Instagram at the time. “As an addict, being open about the struggle is the only way through. And same goes for those of us affected by that struggle. Sending my love to anyone out there who has lost someone to drug addiction. You are not alone. ❤️”

More recently, Fisher opened up in March about her family’s legacy in the entertainment industry — and how she differs from both her late mom and grandmother.

“I’d say definitely the comedy is in the genetics. They were better at it than me. I can do a fair bit of tap dancing, not as good as … young Debbie Reynolds, but that’s also in the genes, although my mom kind of sucked at tap dancing,” she told People. “I’m a very distinct personality, definitely different from both of them. Well, it’s something you learn through generations. I think I’ve learned to balance my life and my work in a different way than they were able to do, and that was also a product of the times.”

Billie is perhaps best known for starring in Scream Queens and American Horror Story, as well as playing Lieutenant Connix in the Star Wars sequel trilogy, alongside Fisher.

  • Why Michelle Obama Once Told Her Daughters She’s ‘Done Parenting’

    [ad_1]

Michelle Obama once had a major mom crash out while solo parenting daughters Malia and Sasha Obama.

“They were probably 7 and 3 at the time, and Barack was traveling, so I was at home trying to get the girls to bed,” Michelle, 61, said during the Wednesday, December 24, episode of her “IMO” podcast. “They were great kids, but this was one night that they were just being rambunctious.”

Michelle asked the girls to “get ready for bed” but quickly realized “no one was listening” to her.

“I was in my frustrated mommy time. And I said, ‘Well, that’s it. No one listens to me. I’m done parenting. You seem like you guys have this all figured out, and you can do this on your own. So have at it,’” she recalled.

Malia, now 27, offered some version of an apology. “Mommy, no, I don’t know what I could do without you,” she said, per Michelle’s recollection of events.

“I’m thinking, ‘Yeah, this is what I wanted. I wanted her to realize that she needed me,’” Michelle continued. “Sasha, my 3-year-old was sitting on the stairs watching all this. She took her blankie, and she turned around and went back upstairs to watch TV. As if to say, like, ‘Thank God. At last. This is what I wanted from you, lady. I am 3. I can handle this. I’m going back upstairs.’”

The former first lady continued, “She got five steps up, and I was like, ‘If you don’t turn around and get back down here.’ Well, it worked for one. Didn’t work for the other.”

Michelle said that those same differences between Malia and Sasha, now 24, are still present in their adulthood.

“My younger daughter, she wants to learn her way. She doesn’t want to be told that this is how you do it,” Michelle said of Sasha. “We tell her, but she’s got to learn on her own.”

Following their father’s two-term presidency, which ended in 2017, both Malia and Sasha started paving their own paths in the public eye.

Malia graduated from Harvard University in 2021 before kicking off her career in filmmaking. Malia entered the Sundance Film Festival in 2024 with The Heart, a movie she had written and directed under the name Malia Ann — dropping her famous surname.

“It is very important for my kids to feel like they’ve earned what they are getting in the world, and they don’t want people to assume that they don’t work hard, that they’re just naturally handed things,” Michelle said during an appearance on the “Sibling Revelry” podcast in June. “Malia, who started in film, and it being her first project, she took off her last name, and we were like, ‘They’re still going to know it’s you, Malia.’ But we respected the fact that she’s trying to make her way.”

Sasha, meanwhile, graduated from the University of Southern California in 2023 with a sociology degree. She lives in Los Angeles but may still be pursuing her education as noted by Michelle on The Jennifer Hudson Show last year.

“Sasha is in school, Malia has a budding career in film,” Michelle said at the time. “They are smart, they’re funny, they’re wise in their own ways and I love spending time with them.”

“So that would mean us starting to try maybe [at the] end of the year, like December [or] January,” she told her followers. “Only thing that’s so hard is it took me, like, 11 months to get pregnant with June. Part of me is like, ‘Do we start trying in case it takes a long time?’ But then I’m like, I feel like when you do that then you get pregnant on the first try.”

The outlet published a photograph of Burruss and Tucker posing together with Blaze, who wore a princess dress. Only one day before Blaze’s birthday party, Burruss released a statement to Us Weekly to confirm her separation from Tucker after 11 years of marriage.

“After deep thought and a lot of prayer, I’ve made the decision to move forward with a divorce. This is a difficult and emotional time, but my focus remains on protecting my peace, being the best mother I can be, and co-parenting with love and respect,” Burruss, told Us.

  • Shay Mitchell Defends Her Children’s Skincare Line: Not ‘Beauty’

    [ad_1]

Shay Mitchell didn’t expect to receive so much backlash on her skincare line for children.

Mitchell, 38, opened up about the online comments surrounding her skincare line, Rini, while chatting with Today on Wednesday, November 19.

“I was a little surprised, but I think anything that involves kids, there should be a conversation around it,” she explained. “I have a lot of questions as I’m sure you both do when anything involves our kids — with what they eat and what they put on their skin. So I didn’t think this would be anything different.”

The Pretty Little Liars alum shared that her skincare line stemmed from her “experience being a mom” and feeling that “there wasn’t anything out there I felt safe enough putting on their skin.” (Mitchell shares daughters Atlas, 6 and Rome, 3, with her partner Matte Babel.)

Jenna Bush Hager then asked about the criticism, which pointed out that children should not be worrying about their beauty at such a young age.

“Absolutely,” Mitchell agreed. “Truly, skincare starts from birth. We moisturize, we soothe, we comfort their skin as newborns. This is the same thing, it’s just in a different format that’s just more fun, and I feel very age-appropriate.”

Rini features sheet face masks with Vitamin E, which helps skin health and supports the immune system, in animal shapes including a dog, unicorn and panda. The sheet masks are dermatologist tested, hypoallergenic, fragrance-free and safe for sensitive skin. They also sell jelly masks for hydration.

Mitchell went on to say that she didn’t think the masks were “a beauty thing.”

“Kids don’t look at masks and think about fixing, they think about it being a cooling sensation and a shared moment [with their parents],” she explained.

    Courtesy of Heyrini.com

“I think when my girls see me do this at the end of the night or when I’m reading a story, that’s Mommy’s time to give back to herself. So it really is about how you speak with the girls,” the actress shared.

The Béis founder added that it’s a “positive introduction” into skincare. “I want them to grow up and be conscious about what it is that they’re putting on their skin — anything that touches it.”

Rini’s next launch will be cleaning wipes, an idea Mitchell had after seeing her kids get their faces painted at birthday parties.

“I just feel like that is where I wish there were cleaner products, because I don’t want to limit their creativity,” she said.

Mitchell announced that she was launching Rini on November 6 via Instagram. “So excited (and honestly, so relieved) that I can finally talk about Rini,” she wrote. “This has been three years in the making, inspired by my girls, their curiosity, and all the little moments that made me realize how early it starts. From birthday parties and face paint to wanting to do ‘what mommy does’ with her face masks… it was only a matter of time.”

Mitchell continued, “Rini isn’t about beauty it’s about self-care. About teaching our kids that taking care of themselves can be fun, gentle, and safe.”

She recalled a moment when her kids got too much sun and needed an aloe mask, which inspired her first product. “I wanted something that worked, but was still clean enough for my kids and now it’s finally here.”

Her followers were quick to share their opinions in the comments section, writing that they were “horrified” with the line.

“Disturbing behind words,” one wrote, while another added, “Just because they want to ‘do what mommy does’ doesn’t mean they should.” A third commented, “Please explain to me why literal toddlers need face masks and skincare and to be sitting in front of a makeup mirror looking at themselves? They should [be] playing and getting dirty and not caring what their skin looks like at that age. This just seems so unnecessary.” A third added, “Why are we poisoning young girls to focus on beauty – let them play with mud rather than obsessive with how they look.”

While some people were outraged, others supported the line.

“People in the comments freaking out suddenly… I grew up in the 80s with a family full of girls, we were painting our nails and putting cucumbers on our eyes with masks, trying to roll our hair in socks for curls and braids and such for FUN at the age of like 7 and up 😂 not pushed standards or anything crazy you are trying to talk about. Is everyone OK? 😂,” one defended Mitchell. A second commented, “I love this so much! My daughter always wanted to do a face mask with me. And now she can!”

  • Does Selena Quintanilla Have Kids? She Was Not Pregnant at Time of Death

    [ad_1]

The 1997 murder of pop star Selena Quintanilla fueled endless gossip about her personal life.

One of the biggest questions that has persisted for the 30 years following Quintanilla’s death at age 23 was whether she was pregnant at the time of her murder. (Quintanilla was fatally shot by her former friend and business associate Yolanda Saldívar in Corpus Christie, Texas, on March 31, 1995. She was convicted of first-degree murder in October of that year.)

A hoax about Quintanilla’s supposed pregnancy sprang up during the early days of the internet, with Saldívar seemingly lending credence to the speculation in subsequent jailhouse interviews.

Prior to the release of Netflix’s Selena y Los Dinos documentary in November 2025, Quintanilla’s widower, Chris Pérez, tried to clear up the pregnancy rumors. He has also offered insight into what his life was like with Quintanilla during their three years of marriage.

No. Selena Quintanilla and her husband Chris Pérez had no children together.

The 2025 documentary Selena y Los Dinos featured archival footage of Quintanilla speaking to a reporter about the prospect of becoming a mom, according to People.

“I would love to have children in the future. I think it is a part of my womanhood that, as a woman, I feel that I am missing it,” Quintanilla said. “More so in the future. I feel that I have to extract all of the goals that I have in my mind and achieve them.”

She added, “In the future, when I have time to take care of my children, well, of course I’m going to have kids. Like six. Another group!”

Another segment in the documentary featured Selena’s sister, Suzette Quintanilla, reflecting on her discussions with the “Dreaming of You” singer about their future.

“After she was married with Chris, she would just always tell me about her dreams. She would take off her makeup and always put her hair in a bun,” Suzette recalled. “We would talk about getting married, about me getting married one day, about her having children, her kids and my kids were gonna play together and we were going to make sure that we were going to raise them together. Normal stuff.”

Following Selena’s death, Chris was married to his second wife, Vanessa Villanueva, from 2001 to 2008. Chris and Vanessa share two children: Cassie and Noah.

Was Selena Quintanilla Pregnant When She Died?

No. Selena’s widower Chris has routinely denied persistent rumors that she was pregnant at the time of her death.

While promoting his memoir, To Selena, with Love, in 2012, Chris denied the pregnancy theories, along with speculation that he and Selena were planning to divorce.

“I could fill a whole book just about [those rumors],” Perez told Chron. “There were some things that were just ridiculous.”

What Has Selena Quintanilla’s Widower Chris Perez Said About Their Marriage?

Chris has occasionally spoken about his marriage to Selena over the years, including writing warmly about her in his memoir, To Selena, with Love.

The couple’s romance grew out of their musical collaborations, as Chris was a member of his future wife’s tejano band, Selena y Los Dinos. In Netflix’s 2025 documentary, Chris reflected on what life was like for one of the world’s biggest stars.

“Selena was always going, always on,” he said. “I think ‘road life’ started to become pretty busy, pretty hectic.”

Chris remembered that one of Selena’s favorite hobbies during her downtime was designing clothing.

“Doing the designing was something that made her happy,” Chris said. “She would set some time aside — quiet time. She would have her sketch pads and she would start going to town … Some of our outfits that we wore onstage were drawn by her.”

Elsewhere, Chris admitted that he’d struggled with “guilt” about the way Selena died. He said he had been aware that Yolanda Saldívar once showed off a pistol to his wife but was assured by Selena that Yolanda planned to return the gun. (Yolanda originally bought a Taurus Model 85 .38-caliber revolver from a San Antonio gun range. She later returned the weapon before re-purchasing the gun days before using it in the fatal shooting.)

“There was a lot of that. A lot of [guilt] going through my mind,” he told Chron. “But when something happens like that so quickly, and the way it happened, I think it’s only natural for most people to feel the same way. The reason something like that happens is because nobody expected it to happen. We didn’t think this person was capable of doing what she did.”

  • Ashley Tisdale Seemingly Shades Hilary Duff, Mandy Moore, Meghan Trainor And More Friends Involved In ‘Toxic’ Mom Group! – Perez Hilton

    [ad_1]

Ashley Tisdale is so over her mom group!

On Thursday, the actress published a new post on her blog, By Ashley French — titled “You’re Allowed to Leave Your Mom Group”!

    Um, yeah!

And in said piece she threw major shade at her former friends, who are some very recognizable faces in the industry! Ashley told her readers that when she became a mom, she “craved connection” and decided to join a mom group. She thought it was “great” at first, with everyone swapping “sleep training advice,” taking “tons of photos,” and celebrating “the tiny victories” together. Just a super supportive “village of moms” that she needed at the time.

Related: Chrishell Stause & Emma Hernan’s Fight Over ‘Controlling’ BF Revealed!

However, the mom group soon changed. Ashley said it became extremely “toxic” and cliquey. Oof. The High School Musical alum explained:

“Not because the moms themselves are toxic people, but because the dynamic shifts into an ugly place with mean-girl behavior. I know this from personal experience. In my mom group, I started to notice that certain people would get talked about when they weren’t present, and not in a positive way. I realized that there were group text chains that didn’t include everyone, which led to cliques forming within the larger group.”

Even Ashley got excluded from events! She continued:

“After the third or fourth time of seeing social media photos of everyone else at a hangout that I didn’t get invited to, it felt like I wasn’t really part of the group after all.”

Damn! It sounds like Ashley’s mom group just didn’t have time for her anymore! Hmm, wonder why?? Perhaps she needs to find a way into Gwyneth Paltrow‘s circle! Lolz!

The Phineas and Ferb star eventually had enough, so she stopped showing up and putting energy into the friendships! Following the experience, she realized it is OK to leave a mom group, especially if it is no longer serving you. Ashley wrote:

“If a mom group consistently leaves you feeling hurt, drained, or left out, it’s not the mom group for you. (Even if it used to be!) It’s no longer serving you in a way that lifts you up, and you don’t have to stay out of obligation or anything else. Choosing to step away doesn’t make you mean or judgmental. It makes you honest with yourself. It’s also worth remembering that friendships, like all relationships, have seasons. Maybe a group truly was a good fit at one point, but if it’s not the right fit for you now, it’s okay to move on.”

Ultimately, Ashley feels you’re setting a good example for your children by leaving a “toxic” situation:

“Here’s the bigger truth: When you choose yourself, you’re also choosing your kid. If you stay in a group that operates on exclusion and gossip, your child sees that and can absorb that behavior. On the flip side, when you show them that it’s possible to walk away from dynamics that feel unhealthy, you’re teaching them what real self-respect looks like.”

Read the entire blog post HERE.

The question everyone likely has now is: Who is Ashley throwing shade at here? We did some digging, and it appears The Suite Life of Zack & Cody star is targeting none other than Mandy Moore, Hilary Duff, and Meghan Trainor!

If you didn’t know, they have been friends for many years. Their children went on playdates, and they took vacations together, along with their other mom pals. Back in 2022, the star-studded group enjoyed a getaway to the Rancho Valencia Resort & Spa in Rancho Santa Fe, California — minus Mandy. However, Hilary made sure to give the Candy singer a shout-out in the vacay photo dump on Instagram! Check it out (below):

Last year, Hilary opened up to People about how she uses her group of famous pals for support “all the time,” even when her family’s sick during the holidays. She said:

“It was actually one of the hardest moments of my life, and I was on the chat thread just ranting and raving, and they’re all just really supportive.”

Meghan also shared with the outlet earlier this year that she has “a great group chat with my other mom friends, like Hillary Duff and Mandy Moore and Ashley Tisdale.” It sounds like the group wasn’t so “great” for Ashley anymore! Yikes! She seemingly wasn’t at the last hangout this month, so she is probably talking about Mandy, Hilary, and Meghan! Damn!

    And to note…

The He Said She Said artist still follows Hilary and Meghan on Insta at this time, so she hasn’t completely cut off those two. The pair also follow Ashley! However, she notably does NOT follow Mandy! The A Walk to Remember actress, meanwhile, still follows her! See (below):

    (c) Ashley Tisdale/Instagram

    (c) Mandy Moore/Instagram

Hmm. Of course, there are always two sides to every story! We can’t help but wonder what their opinion on all this is! She sees her former mom group as toxic, but did they feel the same about her? Though, if so, did they try having conversations with her? Is ghosting ever the right thing? We also wonder if all this went down before or after her comments about Charlie Kirk‘s death…

  • Jenna Dewan Uses Fake Tanner on 12-Year-Old Daughter for Dance Contest

    [ad_1]

Jenna Dewan light-heartedly shared her 12-year-old daughter Everly Tatum’s preparation for an Irish dance competition.

The Step Up alum, 44, joked via her Instagram Story on Saturday, October 25, that one of the key steps in getting Everly ready for her performance was applying “instant tanner” at 7 a.m. That’s dedication!

The early morning preparation seemingly paid off as a later video on Dewan’s Instagram Story showcased Everly effortlessly performing her formal routine.

Of course, the mom of three — who shares Everly with ex-husband Channing Tatum, plus she shares son Callum, 5, and daughter Rhiannon, 1, with fiancé Steve Kazee — has a wealth of experience to rely on as she guides her young daughter’s foray into competitive dancing.

Dewan started her career as a backup dancer for Janet Jackson, Celine Dion and Pink before putting her dance experience to excellent use in her 2006 breakthrough movie Step Up.

Surprisingly, the actress previously told Us Weekly that Everly initially wasn’t interested in dancing as she grew up, despite coming from two parents with strong performance backgrounds. (Tatum costarred with Dewan in Step Up and also appeared in the Magic Mike movies.)

“We’ve always had this joke that coming from two dance parents, she just had no interest at all,” she told Us in 2022. “Recently, she’s wanted to take up Irish dancing … on her own accord.”

Dewan explained that Everly’s interest in Irish dance caught both of her parents completely by surprise since it was such a far cry from their styles.

“She was like, ‘Oh, my gosh, I want to do that,” the Come Dance with Me judge explained. “And now she’s going to Irish dance classes. She is so serious about it. She loves it. We are in it to win it … in her own way. That’s very Evie. She wants to do things in her own unique way. It’s so cool.”

At the time, Dewan hinted to Us that her son Callum may be the next member of the family to try dancing, since he has “a little swag [and] a little bounce” like his dad. (Kazee has an extensive musical theater background, including winning a Tony Award for his leading performance in Once.)

“[Callum] already has a bit of an inclination for rhythm and music,” she teased. “So we’ll see. I’m very big on not pushing [my interests] on my kids because I want them to find what they’re uniquely interested in. But yeah, they’re finding it.”

Dewan and Tatum got together in 2006 after meeting on the set of Step Up and eventually tied the knot in 2009. Both have been reluctant to publicly discuss their 2018 separation and subsequent divorce, though Tatum, 45, admitted to Variety in September that he’d worked through any issues with his ex-wife in order to coparent Evie.

“Jenna and I are good now, but it was a painful break to have that fall apart, especially being so young,” Tatum acknowledged. “We tried to keep it together, tried for a year and a half. … It’s in the past.”

Admitting that the divorce was “tough” on the whole family, he added: “It’s really tough not to have your daughter half the time. I wish I could just have her all the time.”

Tatum has moved with long-term relationships with Jessie J first and then with Zoë Kravitz — both of which have now ended — while Dewan announced her engagement to fiancé Kazee in February 2020. Kazee and Dewan went on to welcome son Callum in March 2020 and daughter Rhiannon in June 2024.

“From the moment you arrived, you have brought immense joy and love into our lives… your gentle grace, sweetness, and beauty have captivated our entire family,” the couple wrote in a 2024 birth announcement for Rhiannon. “Our hearts are overflowing with love, and we are truly blessed by your presence. Welcome to our world baby girl.”

  • Reba McEntire Recalls Raising ‘Precious’ Stepson Brandon Blackstock

    [ad_1]

Reba McEntire revealed her bond with former stepson Brandon Blackstock won’t soon be forgotten following his death earlier this year.

“My relationship with my stepson, Brandon Blackstock, was precious,” McEntire, 70, told People on Tuesday, October 21, following Blackstock’s death in August at the age of 48. “I absolutely loved that child.”

McEntire recalled Brandon coming into her life when he was 4 years old after she started dating his father, Narvel Blackstock, whom she wed in 1989. (Brandon followed in his father’s footsteps and became a music manager prior to his untimely death.)

“Then when Narvel and I got married, he was 13, 14,” the Voice coach remembered, noting that because Brandon was just a kid when they met, she was an active part of his upbringing.

Reba McEntire is speaking out after her stepson Brandon Blackstock’s death. McEntire, 70, responded to a Friday, August 8, Instagram post by her son, Shelby Blackstock, whom she shares with ex Narvel Blackstock. “Words cannot begin to capture the tremendous loss our family has endured. Yesterday, we lost a brother, a father, a grandfather, and […]

“Along with his mom and dad, I helped raise him, along with [Narvel’s other kids] Shawna and Chassidy,” McEntire said. “They were my kids.” (McEntire and Narvel, 69, share one son, Shelby, 35.)

The country singer, who divorced Narvel in 1995, still has fond memories of Brandon, remembering him as the “funny” young child who loved to “pull pranks.”

“He loved to scare people,” McEntire revealed, noting Narvel’s employees at Starstruck Entertainment were some of his favorite targets. “We’d be at the office there at Starstruck in Nashville and I’d be sitting at my desk and I’d see Penny Chubb [a Starstruck Entertainment employee] walk by going to the lady’s room, and then here comes Brandon. He’d hide behind the pillar.”

McEntire laughed when thinking about Brandon as a kid standing for 10 minutes just “waiting to scare somebody.”

The Happy’s Place actress noted that the jokes didn’t stop there.

“If you ever parked your car in front of the house at a family dinner you better take your keys,” McEntire said of another one of Brandon’s go-to moves. “Or he would take that car and drive it all the way around to the greenhouse and you’d have to walk in the dark and go get your car.”

McEntire was married to Narvel for 26 years — and was the stepmother to his three children before welcoming their son Shelby in 1990 — before calling it quits in 1995. Narvel was also McEntire’s manager prior to their divorce.

When Brandon married Kelly Clarkson, McEntire’s bond with him and his then-wife only seemed to grow stronger. While Clarkson, 43, filed for divorce from Brandon in 2020 after seven years of marriage, she remained close to McEntire — as did her and Brandon’s children, River, 11, and Remy, 9. (Brandon was also the father of Savannah, 23, and Seth, 18, from his marriage to Melissa Ashworth.)

  • Who Were Ben Stiller’s Parents Jerry Stiller and Anne Meara?

    [ad_1]

Ben Stiller examined his parents Jerry Stiller and Anne Meara’s enduring legacy — and the downside of their fame — in the 2025 documentary Stiller & Meara: Nothing Is Lost.

Jerry and his wife were not only partners in life, but they also formed a popular comedy duo that performed in major venues across the U.S. throughout Ben and his sister Amy Stiller’s childhood in the 1960s and ‘70s.

In Stiller & Meara: Nothing Is Lost, Ben admitted that his parents’ connection was volatile and that he remembered hearing “raised voices” often in his childhood.

“They were very close but they were also very different, too,” he explained.

Ben Stiller is opening up about the mistakes he has made as a father of two. “Like any parent, I remember things that weren’t happy about my childhood and go, ‘I’ll do better,’ Stiller, 59, told The Sunday Times in an interview published on Saturday, October 11, of what he learned not to do from […]

Keep scrolling for more on Jerry and Meara’s life and careers.

    Who Was Jerry Stiller?

Jerry served in the U.S. Army in World War II and returned home to study at Syracuse University. He took part in various New York theatre productions in the early ‘50s, before meeting Meara in 1953.

The two were married the following year and soon began performing together as a comedic duo. Jerry and Meara were among the earliest members of the famed Second City improv troupe in Chicago, which subsequently launched the careers of Bill Murray, Tina Fey, Stephen Colbert and Amber Ruffin, among countless others.

Jerry and Meara became recurring guests on The Ed Sullivan Show in the 1960s and hosted their own short-form series that aired after Saturday Night Live in syndication.

Aside from his comedy team, Jerry memorably played George Constanza’s curmudgeonly father Frank Costanza on the classic TV sitcom Seinfeld, for which he earned an Emmy Award nomination. Other notable roles included starring opposite Kevin James as Arthur Spooner in The King of Queens and doing voiceover work for Disney.

Jerry frequently appeared in his son Ben’s projects, with notable roles in both Zoolander films and Heavyweights, among others.

Ben announced his father’s death at age 92 from natural causes in May 2020 and paid tribute to his comedic legacy.

“I’m sad to say that my father, Jerry Stiller, passed away from natural causes,” he tweeted. “He was a great dad and grandfather, and the most dedicated husband to Anne for about 62 years. He will be greatly missed. Love you Dad.”

    Who Was Anne Meara?

The comedian had a very difficult childhood, as her mother Mary Dempsey died by suicide when Meara was only 10 years old.

As a teenager, Meara studied under famed acting teacher Uta Hagen at New York City’s prestigious New School. However, she credited her future husband Jerry with convincing her to try comedy.

“Jerry started us being a comedy team,” she revealed. “He always thought I would be a great comedy partner.”

Aside from her comedy team with her husband, Meara was nominated for four Emmy Awards throughout her life. She won a Writers Guild of America Award for cowriting the 1983 TV movie The Other Woman.

Like her husband, Meara worked extensively in TV sitcoms, including Rhoda, Archie Bunker’s Place and Alf throughout the 1970s and ‘80s. She memorably played Steve Brady’s mother Mary on Sex and the City and joined her husband Jerry on The King of Queens.

“My mother had issues across her life with alcoholism,” Ben acknowledged in 2023. “She got sober and really explored that stuff … She had so much trauma [in her life] and the thing that I’m so grateful for is that, I think so many people who live with alcoholism in their families, it’s never dealt with. It’s never, ever explored or even talked about.”

He went on, “What I’m grateful for is she really delved into that in her therapy. For someone who’s a functioning alcoholic, it’s basically that you’re trying to navigate that because it’s not dramatic.”

Meara died at age 85 in May 2015 after suffering multiple strokes.

What Did Ben Stiller Say About His Parents?

Ben explored his complicated relationship with his parents in the 2025 Apple TV documentary Stiller & Meara: Nothing Is Lost, which premiered at the New York Film Festival in October 2025.

In the film, Ben opened up about the resentment he felt towards his father Jerry for not tackling his mom’s alcoholism head-on.

“When [my mom] was drinking, my dad never really knew how to handle it,” Stiller explained. “I think he loved her so much and he was so committed to her. Also the act and what they did together was so important, that he had to figure out how to deal with that on his own. But I think I resented him for not acknowledging it to us.”

Ben said that he and sister Amy always knew that their father “loved us more than anything,” though it was always painful to see their mother struggle.

“I think he was just trying to figure out how to navigate that and I got so angry at him for not being there for us but I don’t even think I understood that for awhile,” he recalled.

However, Ben and his wife, Christine Taylor, also reflected on the way Meara was able to empathize and support them once she got sober.

“She would see me as a new mother, during those moments where it was crazy and frenetic, and tell me how great a job I was doing,” Taylor said. “It was a way to make me feel so good about what I was doing, but [also] her acknowledging what she couldn’t do.”

They can’t deny that.”
