If there’s one thing that drives the MW3 Zombies community, it would probably be the objective-based camo challenges. It’s got enough juice to prolong the mode’s replayability and has continued to do so since its release.
However, the challenges exhibit a setback where you can only view them in the main menu. That means players go into matches with their wits alone, ultimately leaving them blind to their current progress. Fortunately, Reddit user ygorhpr has established an idea for an in-game Zombies camo challenges tracker and has even managed to create it themself.
The tracker was convincing enough that many players believed it was real and thought a new update brought it on. I even regarded it as true and almost attempted to log into Modern Warfare 3 until I realized it was all just a dream.
Now, everyone in the Reddit comments section has been begging for the Zombies camo challenges tracker to be real. It’s the perfect addition to the mode, depicting both daily and camo-specific tasks.
Of course, it would be an excellent feature for modes like Multiplayer, yet it seems more plausible for Zombies alone. The reason for this is due to its longer time limit; anything could change during that hour, and you won’t have any idea of where you stand.
Sadly, it doesn’t seem like an in-game camo challenges tracker is on Activision and Sledgehammer Games’ radars. The latest early patch notes don’t even mention something along those lines. Nevertheless, we’re still holding on to the hope of it happening as more seasons launch.
The only new element we can look forward to is the new Warlord boss, Dokkaebi, set for Season 1 Reloaded. We’ll just have to cross our fingers for the in-game Zombies camo challenges to make it to that mix eventually. Who knows? Maybe they could even commission the Reddit user to get the ball rolling.

If there’s one thing to expect from the Call of Duty community, it’s the desire to show off some of the coolest kills or moments from their gameplay. However, one Reddit user decided to downplay the impressiveness of one of their kills even though it’s not one that many players could pull off.
User Kiang_x posted in the ModernWarfareIII subreddit with a clip of gameplay on Terminal titled “Actually a nice triple kill :).” This would lead most users to think that the clip would be of a few solid shots with the sniper rifle the user was running, and the first two kills of the streak would seem to confirm that theory. However, the third kill in the sequence was nothing short of brilliant.
The first two kills were on a couple of enemies trying to push toward the user and their teammates, where the user was able to ADS and take out both of them with one shot each. However, during this they started taking fire so they made a turn toward the airplane and seemingly without looking, jumped off the ledge and made an incredible shot.
As the user jumped off the ledge, they spun around and did a full 360, only to fire a single round while in mid-air without scoping in and killing an enemy in the airplane’s window. This all while taking fire from the enemy team and on the brink of death — talk about grace under pressure.
As of writing, this post on Reddit only has three comments — one of which is the OP replying to thank someone who said that the post deserves more love than it’s gotten. The lack of traffic could easily be from the subtlety of the post, not stating upfront just how impressive the shot was to pull off.
While it’s not exactly a holiday miracle, it’s worth highlighting the use of old-school tactics from some of the earlier Call of Duty games like the original Modern Warfare 3. If anyone says that the 360 no-scope is no longer a viable combat method, the best thing to do would be to show them this clip.

The Modern Warfare 3 community is alive with people reporting bugs, asking questions and posting killcams, and one of the latter turned out to be more than two players bargained for during the CODMAS holiday event.
A Reddit post by user tiktokalnuke showed a final killcam of a player showing off some impressive snowball fighting by getting the fastest double kill that you can. They started off on the roof of the building on the Hangover map, jumping down to refill on snowballs and get the drop on an enemy who was engaging with the player’s teammate.
As they reached the ground, the operator started to throw some snowballs at the enemy, tagging them once in the back. However, before they were able to get a second snowball in, another enemy slid from around the corner into the fray, but didn’t quite go where they should have.
In order to protect their teammate, the enemy operator slid directly between them and the projectile, but not only did it not work, both players were instantly killed by the exact same snowball. While it doesn’t look like it was an intentional collateral, it was a great stroke of luck that made for an infinitely replayable final kill cam.
This result comes as a surprise not only just because of the shocking timing that had to happen to line that up unintentionally, but also due to the low amount of damage that the snowballs are supposed to do. It usually takes at least two hits from one before you can get a kill, so the odds of someone getting two kills with a single shot are low, but apparently not zero.
One user replied in the comments that the second kill came as a result of the splash damage from the snowball, mimicking that of the Ray Gun in zombies. Although it’s likely a very low amount of damage, it must have been just enough to finish the job that the player had started.
Unfortunately, the CODMAS event has since ended for the year, leaving players to go back to their regularly scheduled gameplay. There won’t be any more opportunities to get collateral-snowball kills until it comes back again next winter, but you can always remember the fond memories you had from this season.

Modern Warfare 3’s Reddit community is active with players who have plenty of feedback for the first-person shooter, from guns to equipment to melee weapons. Those melee weapons are being brought into question by the community by multiple players reporting their strength as being broken.
Ragnaroknight, a user on the ModernWarfareIII subreddit pointed out that during their recent gameplay, the players who are at the top of the leaderboards are the ones who are using the knife in their loadouts and tailoring their gameplay to that. They go on to say that it’s not just the knife itself, but the rest of the loadout that makes it so powerful.
Being able to increase your movement speed with the lightweight boots or the infantry vest puts knife players at a significant advantage because they can close the gap between themselves and their opponents with devastating speed. Many guns in the game aren’t able to kill enemies fast enough to avoid being taken out by a player with a knife.
The range of the melee weapons is also being brought into question, and the sentiment was echoed by another user on the subreddit, Mother_Preparation29. They posted a clip of themself getting nine kills in a row with the Dual Kodachis along with the comment that they seem to have more range than an average knife.
Some users that shared the sentiment of frustration were met with a negative response, being told that they’re suffering from a skill issue instead of the game. However, even players who use the melee weapons are pointing out how OP it is when they’re able to enter a room with 3 enemies and take them all out by merely strafing with the knife.
Even the camo challenges for the Gutter Knife are being called out for being broken in some way. The challenge for getting five kills without dying five times is unlocking for some players after only getting 25 kills, regardless of how many times they died in between them.
It remains to be seen if these issues are going to be fixed in future patches, but until then, be sure to be extra careful when you see someone running with a knife.

Modern Warfare 3 is the next addition to the Call of Duty franchise and its plethora of games, joining the likes of Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone on the Call of Duty HQ. However, while HQ does bring everything together into one place, it makes it more challenging to break into the series than in previous formats.
There are many reasons why the CoD HQ just doesn’t do it for me, the first of which is that nearly every time you open it, there will be an update. I’m not saying I have a problem with updates, but the game loads up fully, then tells you there was an update, only to restart the app and make you load it all up again. It would be much less of a hassle if it could silently update while the game was closed. That way, you could just load directly into the game and get playing.
I know that’s just a minor frustration, but for the size of the app and the amount of updates you have to download, I feel like things like that should be ironed out by now. I was playing a multiplayer match after the app restarted itself for an update, only to come out of the match and be told that the app had to restart again for another update. It just breaks the flow of the experience and makes it feel unfinished.
Generally, if you purchase a game and load it up, you’ll be met with a menu of things that are in the game like the multiplayer or zombies modes, and maybe you’ll have ads for the other games in the series. CoD HQ employs a different format, in that it shows you all of the modes that you can play in both MW2 and MW3, regardless of what you actually own. Even if you only play Warzone—which is free to play—you’ll still be shown all of the content for games you don’t have.

It’s not quite clear as to what you do and don’t have access to. Sure, it tells you that you don’t have access to the “game mode” if you haven’t bought a given game, but even calling it a game mode makes it feel like it’s part of something you have. I managed to install the campaign pack for MW3 before getting the game, only for it to tell me that I had to purchase the game to play. I knew it wouldn’t work, but I shouldn’t be able to fully install the file without having access to it in the first place. Especially if you’re only interested in the multiplayer or Warzone modes, it makes it look like you’re able to play more than you can.
As you scroll through the games by navigating up or down on the page, you can see the content for Modern Warfare 3, then Warzone, followed by Modern Warfare 2, and the legacy games below it. Say you’ve only got MW3. As you scroll through the legacy games, it’ll still say “Play” instead of “Purchase,” as though you can just load them up. Once you press play, it just takes you to the store page, which feels disjointed coming from a hub that seems to have everything all connected.
From a marketing standpoint, it makes sense why Activision would want to do this. Warzone being free-to-play means that the publisher wants to make it clear and straightforward as to how to spend money in other ways, such as through the battle pass or the full games. The problem is, it makes it feel very cluttered from the user end to just be bombarded by ads for things you already know exist and probably have a good reason for not having them at the moment.

Since the launch of MW3, I’ve had countless updates and a few (sometimes amusing) graphical bugs on just the launcher alone, making it feel like there’s not all that much love behind the project. Every time I load the game up, I’m hit with the same splash page thanking me for playing, which was nice the first time but feels a bit sloppy when it happens every single time I reopen the game.
The way that the HQ is set up makes it feel like each game is just an add-on of something larger, compounded by the fact that the store and Battle Pass are constantly bombarding you. If you select any option to buy MW3, it’ll show you the Vault Edition and not show you any other ways to buy it. You can navigate to and find the option for the cheaper cross-gen bundle, but the fact that you have to look so hard to find it feels like toxic marketing.
Even the fact that you get so few CP from spending $100 on the Vault Edition feels like you’re being tricked into spending more money. There are only two packs that you can buy in the store with that few CP, and anything else will cost at least twice that—costing an extra $10. Rather than feeling rewarded for buying the upgraded version, it feels more like you’re being hit with an obligation.
All in all, the Call of Duty HQ feels like the bare minimum when it comes down to having a hub for the franchise. While players who already have the other games will benefit from being able to access them in one place, it’s less straightforward for the people who are trying to play the game for the first time. It makes it feel almost intimidating just to get into a game or that you will be missing out desperately by not having the Battle Pass. I can’t help but feel that Call of Duty would be better off back as individual games in your library.

Ranked play has become an vital part of online gaming in recent years and we expect it to become core of MW3 pretty soon. Here’s everything you need to know about when ranked play starts in Modern Warfare 3.
MW3 Ranked Play Start Date?
Activision revealed during the COD Next event that Ranked Play will come out Season 1 of MW3.
Developers pointed out during the interview that they want players to get used to all the new mechanics, weapons, and maps before introducing ranked mode to the game. As such, we expect ranked mode to roll out in December of this year, or maybe next January. Bear in mind that this is just speculation though, as Activision hasn’t yet revealed the definitive date when ranked will be added.

What Should You Expect From Call of Duty Ranked?
In MW2, players had a chance to experience the same kind of gameplay present in the COD League. With all the rules, maps, modes, and restrictions being the same, players will experience the ultimate form of competitive Call of Duty. These are the features we expect to come back for MW3 as well:
COD League 4v4 team format
Unrestricted items – all unrestricted weapons and attachments unlocked to provide a level playing field
At least three game modes, including CDL Hardpoint, CDL Search & Destroy, and CDL Control
Skill Rating (SR) points system used to determine player skill level with both team and individual performance in each game affecting your rating
Seven different skill divisions and a special division for the top 250 players in the world
That is all the information we currently have on the ranked mode in Modern Warfare 3 and its release date. In the meantime, multiplayer will be an excellent warmup for ranked, and we have a guide covering the Best Weapons in MW3 that you can use to get ahead of the competition.

Gunfight is one of the fan-favorite game modes from the Call of Duty series that offers players a chance to show their mastery of the game. But given its absence when Activision highlighted the game modes that will be available on the launch of MW3, you might be asking: will Gunfight be available in MW3?
Will Gunfight Be Available at Launch in MW3?
Sadly, Gunfight won’t be available in MW3 at launch per Activision’s blog post, but there isn’t reason for despair just yet.
Activision didn’t reveal exactly what game modes they will add during Season 1, but Gunfight could be one of the modes that will return for MW3 as well. The mode was also added to MW2 with a slight delay as part of the season three update, so there’s a precedent for it coming to CoD games after their initial launch.

For those that still thirst for that close-quarters lightning-fast action, MW3 will include a new game mode called Cutthroat. Players will have a chance to battle it out in essentially the same way they did in Gunfight but with a 3v3v3 team format. A thing to note is that in Cutthroat, you will bring your own loadout into the game, which might cause issues regarding team balance.
Cutthroat will be one of the modes where your skill will see the most expression. So, If you are playing with a gamepad and want to make your movement and aim the best they can be in Cutthroat, this guide explaining The Best Controller Settings is a great place to start.
Hopefully this cleared up whether or not MW3 will feature Gunfight. For more on the game, we’ve got plenty of related articles which you can check out down below. Otherwise, keep it keyed to Twinfinite for all the latest news, guides, and features tied to the Call of Duty franchise.
