MGM Resorts Now Bookable with Marriott Points

Marriott International and MGM Resorts announced last July an exclusive long-term strategic licensing agreement. That also included the creation of MGM Collection with Marriott Bonvoy. Then more details were revealed about the partnership.

But we had to wait until this month for MGM properties to become bookable through Marriott, and finally find out how much they would cost, especially with points.

Now most MGM properties are available to book with Marriott Bonvoy points. Eight of those properties are part of the MGM Collection with Marriott Bonvoy. Bellagio Las Vegas Resort & Casino is part of the Luxury Collection, Aria Resort & Casino is in the  Autograph Collection, and Park MGM Las Vegas joins the Tribute Portfolio.

Award stays start as low at 5,000 Marriott Bonvoy points plus a $42 resort fee per night at Luxor and Excalibur. But you can also see prices upwards of 150,000 points per night.

Book MGM Stays with Marriott Points

Here are all the MGM properties in Las Vegas that you can book with Marriott Bonvoy points:

    • MGM Collection
    • The Luxury Collection
    • Autograph Collection
    • Tribute Portfolio

Five MGM Resorts in other U.S. locations will also join MGM Collection with Marriott Bonvoy. That includes Borgata (Atlantic City, New Jersey) which should join soon, Beau Rivage (Biloxi, Mississippi), MGM Grand Detroit (Michigan), MGM National Harbor (Maryland), and MGM Springfield (Massachusetts).

Marriott Ambassador elites don’t pay resort fees at MGM Resorts, at least for this year. This benefit is available during a promotional period ending December 31, 2024. It’s not clear if it will be extended after that.

  • Jonathan Glickman in Talks to Lead Miramax as CEO (Exclusive)

Jonathan Glickman in Talks to Lead Miramax as CEO (Exclusive)

    [ad_1]

Miramax may have found its new leader. Jonathan Glickman, the former MGM executive, is in talks to join Miramax as its CEO, sources tell The Hollywood Reporter.

He would step in for former CEO Bill Block, who departed last year after a six-year run.

Glickman served as motion group president at MGM for nine years, where under his tenure, James Bond became a billion-dollar franchise. He also shepherded the rejuvenation of the Rocky franchise, relaunching it as the Creed movie series starring Michael B. Jordan. He departed the studio at the top of 2020 for a first-look producing deal with MGM, and two years later launched Panoramic Media.

As part of his deal to become CEO, Miramax would acquire Panoramic, which has its hand in several noteworthy properties, including the Addams Family animated movies and the Netflix Addams-centric series Wednesday, which helped propel star Jenna Ortega to the A-list.

Prior to running MGM, Glickman spent the first decade of the 2000s as president of production at Spyglass, racking up credits on such as the Rush Hour trilogy and the Shanghai Noon movies.

Harvey and Bob Weinstein founded Miramax in 1979, with the studio making a home at Disney from 1993-2010, making movies such as Pulp Fiction and Shakespeare in Love. It is now owned by Qatar-based sports and entertainment company BeIn, which has a 51 percent stake, and Paramount, which owns the other 49 percent.

In recent years, Miramax has been more known for its library of 700 films rather than introducing new titles into the marketplace, though the company is hoping to ramp up its film and TV output. Over the past five years its films have included the Guy Ritchie feature The Gentlemen, which starred Matthew McConaughey and has a Netflix series bowing in March, as well as Ritchie’s Jason Statham actioner The Wrath of Men. It is currently in theaters with David Ayer’s The Beekeeper, also starring Statham. On the TV front, it acquired the small screen rights to the horror series Halloween late last year.

  • MGM’s Bellagio Fountain Club to Offer Premium Experiences during F1 Las Vegas

MGM’s Bellagio Fountain Club to Offer Premium Experiences during F1 Las Vegas

    [ad_1]

MGM Resorts International has teased more details about the experience Bellagio Fountain Club will offer during the F1 Heineken Silver Las Vegas Grand Prix. The club is set to take “center stage” during the highly anticipated race and will host a Winner’s Stage event.

Set to take place from November 16 to 18, the Formula 1 Heineken Silver Las Vegas Grand Prix is one of the most exciting events in this year’s motorsports calendar. As announced by MGM, the Bellagio Fountain Club will host a variety of events prior to, during and after the race.

Bellagio Fountain Club Will Bring Fans Closer to the Action

At the club, fans will be able to watch the race live. MGM will leverage “an unprecedented Dolby Vision viewing experience powered by LG OLED evo TVs” to “bring fans even closer to the track.” MGM said that action will come to life on screen with bright and vivid colors, cutting-edge detail and dazzling contrast. A total of eight screens will ensure that no guest misses a beat.

The Bellagio Fountain Club will also offer proximity to the track itself from an elevated location on the property’s signature lake. The club’s rooftop hospitality deck will allow guests to see the cars on the Las Vegas Boulevard live.

The club will also welcome entertainers from MGM Resorts’ entertainment portfolio and will also welcome some of the race’s best drivers for post-race commentary on Saturday night. This will notably include the top three drivers in the race who will share their reflections on the event with the community.

Leading Chefs and Will Cook Up Amazing Experiences

In addition, the venue will welcome renowned chefs such as the chef and humanitarian José Andrés, the famous award-winning chef Christina Tosi, the Michelin-decorated Alain Ducasse and Rainer Becker, founder of the famous izakaya-style Japanese restaurant ZUMA in London.

The aforementioned chefs will join a chef roster that also includes Mario Carbone, David Chang, Michael Mina, Masaharu Morimoto, Bryan & Michael Voltaggio and Jean-Georges Vongerichten.

This impressive chef lineup will provide motorsports fans unparaleled dining options. According to MGM, chefs will rotate throughout the three days of the F1 race, introducing new menus each day. In the meantime, a team of decorated mixologists and sommeliers will curate an open bar.

MGM Is Proud to Host the Winner’s Stage

Andrew Lanzino, MGM Resorts’ vice president of citywide events strategy, commented on the experiences awaiting motorsports fans at the club.

We’re curating an experience at the Bellagio Fountain Club that offers guests the absolute best of F1 – from incredible views of the race and exceptional cuisine and beverages, to an astonishing live Dolby Vision experience on LG OLED TVs, to getting up close with the winners post-race.

Andrew Lanzino, VP of citywide events strategy, MGM Resorts International

Lanzino concluded that MGM is “incredibly honored” to host the Winner’s Stage of the F1 Heineken Silver Las Vegas Grand Prix.

The Bellagio Fountain Club is set to open at 6 pm on the three race days.

  • Philadelphia Eagles emerge as early Super Bowl favorites over Kansas City Chiefs

Philadelphia Eagles emerge as early Super Bowl favorites over Kansas City Chiefs

    [ad_1]

The Kansas City Chiefs were still celebrating on the field Sunday night when oddsmakers moved them from slight favorites to win the Super Bowl over the Philadelphia Eagles to slight underdogs.

After the Chiefs opened as a 1.5-point favorite by BetMGM
    MGM,
    +0.24%
    ,
the betting line quickly shifted, favoring the Eagles by 2.5 points, with the over/under at 49.5 points. FanDuel sports book odds also swung from the Chiefs to the Eagles, by 2 points, and DraftKings
    DKNG,
    +5.17%

favored the Eagles by 2.5 points.

The betting line will likely continue to change slightly over the next two weeks.

Super Bowl LVII (that’s 57 to you non-Romans) will kick off at 6:30 p.m. Eastern on Sunday, Feb. 12, in Glendale, Ariz.

The Chiefs edged the Cincinnati Bengals, 23-20, on Sunday night in the AFC Championship game in Kansas City, winning on a last-second field goal. Kansas City will be playing in its third Super Bowl in the past four years; the Chiefs last won it in 2020 over the San Francisco 49ers.

Earlier in the day, the Eagles earned their spot by demolishing the 49ers, 31-7, in an NFC Championship game in Philadelphia that was never close and saw both 49ers quarterbacks — starter Brock Purdy and backup Josh Johnson — leave the game with injuries (Purdy returned in the second half, but essentially could not throw the ball). The Eagles were last in the Super Bowl five years ago, when they beat the New England Patriots.

Last year, PlayUSA estimated there were more than $1 billion in legal wagers on the Super Bowl — a record amount — while AmericanGaming estimated a total of $7.61 billion was wagered in the U.S., when including casual bets, bookies and pool contests.

Sports betting is legal in some form in 32 states, as well as the District of Columbia, according to the American Gaming Association.
