  • Megyn Kelly Talks Ben Shapiro’s “Betrayal” and the MAGA Reckoning at AmericaFest

Megyn Kelly had no idea that Ben Shapiro planned to go after her. When he launched into a scathing broadside against what he called “charlatans” and “grifters” in the conservative movement on the first night of Turning Point’s annual conference last week, his pointed inclusion of Kelly shocked the commentator who has long considered Shapiro a friend.

“I was flabbergasted,” she told me, soon after stepping off the same stage, where her searing response to Shapiro was rapturously received by the crowd. “I thought, ‘Who do you think you are?’”

When more than 90,000 people gathered at a stadium in Arizona for Charlie Kirk’s funeral in September, speakers at the pyrotechnic-infused revival predicted a new dawn for conservative politics. The coalition, unified in its support for President Donald Trump and its horror at Kirk’s killing, was in harmony. “This is new territory for the Republican Party,” Turning Point COO Tyler Bowyer said at the time. “The fusion of Christ in our politics is changing the culture. It’s unifying everyone. This is our civil-rights movement.”

Just a few months later, at Turning Point’s AmericaFest gathering in Phoenix, that unity collapsed into an internecine feud between rival factions vying to define Kirk’s legacy and steer the future of right-wing politics.

Moments after Kirk’s widow, Erika Kirk, opened the conference with a speech calling her late husband a “peacemaker” and urging an end to the squabbling, Shapiro issued a blistering jeremiad that recalled William F. Buckley Jr.’s attempted excommunication of the far right. “The conservative movement is in serious danger,” Shapiro said, “from charlatans who claim to speak in the name of principle but actually traffic in conspiracism and dishonesty, who offer nothing but bile and despair.”

He denounced Candace Owens—a podcaster he once employed at The Daily Wire, the media company he co-founded—who has emerged as the chief purveyor of conspiracy theories about Kirk’s murder. Her videos investigating the killing, infused with all the drama of a true-crime documentary, have been viewed millions of times.

Shapiro extended his criticism to those he said have “refused to condemn Candace’s truly vicious attacks,” naming Megyn Kelly, Tucker Carlson, and Steve Bannon. A few hours later on the same stage, Carlson fired back. “To hear calls for like, de-platforming and denouncing people at a Charlie Kirk event, I’m like, what?” Carlson said, with an air of annoyed confusion. “I mean, this kind of was the whole point of Charlie Kirk’s public life, and I think that he died for it.”

  • Donald Trump Calling Women Pigs and More: A Brief History

Bloomberg reporter Catherine Lucey was asking President Donald Trump a follow-up question on Air Force One last week when he leaned toward her, pointed his finger, and said: “Quiet. Quiet, piggy.”

He had deflected her first question, about a recently released Jeffrey Epstein email in which the late sex trafficker said Trump “knew about the girls.” Lucey was merely doing her job. But Trump, of course, doesn’t have much respect for good journalism—or, it would seem, for women, as his puerile “piggy” taunt indicates.

The exchange—which has since gone viral—is shocking in its crudeness and nastiness, even by Trump administration standards. But this is also a familiar insult for Trump. Alicia Machado, a former Miss Universe pageant winner, previously said that Trump once called her “Miss Piggy.” Trump didn’t exactly deny the incident after Hillary Clinton brought it up during a 2016 debate.

“She gained a massive amount of weight,” Trump said of Machado on Fox & Friends the next morning, apparently in defense of his insult, “and it was a real problem.” During another debate that cycle, before he became the GOP’s nominee, moderator Megyn Kelly noted that Trump had “called women you don’t like fat pigs, dogs, slobs, and disgusting animals.”

“Only Rosie O’Donnell,Trump replied, referring to the comedian he’s been feuding with for nearly 20 years now.

Trump doesn’t only love comparing women to pigs. In 2011, The New York TimesGail Collins wrote that Trump once told her she had “the face of a dog.” In 2018 he described Omarosa Manigault Newman, a former Apprentice contestant and White House aide, as a “dog” and a “lying lowlife.”

Trump also dubbed Stormy Daniels—the adult-film actor who said she had a sexual encounter with him in 2006—“Horseface.” (Trump’s effort to silence Daniels about the alleged encounter—which he has denied—resulted in his conviction on 34 felony counts of falsifying business records; Trump is still trying to get the conviction thrown out.)

“The president of the United States is supposed to be the moral leader, the leader of the country, and he’s acting like some thug on the street,” the longtime White House reporter April Ryan, who was called “Miss Piggy” by a Trump official in 2018, told The Guardian Tuesday. “It’s one thing for his minions to say that, but for him to call a woman that? That also shows how upset he is about the Epstein files. It lets us know that there’s probably some fire there.”

  • Megyn Kelly Ignores Viral Outcry, Insists She’s the Real Source of Truth on Jeffrey Epstein

One day after sparking outrage with her viral comments about Jeffrey Epstein, Megyn Kelly returned to the air to argue that she is the one who really cares about the late convicted pedophile’s victims.

On Wednesday, after the House Oversight Committee released more than 20,000 emails sent to and from Epstein, Kelly immediately drew flack for appearing to equivocate on Epstein’s behalf: “He was into the barely-legal type,” Kelly said on her show. “Like, he liked 15-year-old girls. And I realize this is disgusting. I’m definitely not trying to make an excuse for this. I’m just giving you facts, that he wasn’t into, like, eight-year-olds.”

On the Thursday edition of The Megyn Kelly Show, which airs on SiriusXM and YouTube, she again addressed the Epstein email release, criticizing the media’s reaction to it. “This effort to turn the Epstein story into the [Donald] Trump story completely undermines the actual search for truth when it comes to Jeffrey Epstein,” she said. “Which is why many of us resent these Johnny-come-latelies finally getting interested in the story.”

To Kelly, the emails only prove that Trump had no knowledge of Epstein’s sex trafficking operation. “Now, every media outlet known to man is reporting on every word Epstein penned related to Donald Trump in a mad search to tie the president to the disgraced financiers’s sexual crimes. So far, it hasn’t worked,” she said. “But this is a pathetic and blatant piece of proof that these people don’t care at all about sex trafficking victims. The media cares about one thing and one thing only: getting Donald Trump.”

Citing her apparently deep familiarity with the case was a surprising tack, considering she got into hot water in the first place for boasting about her supposed internal knowledge of Epstein’s operation. On Wednesday, she told her audience that “somebody very, very close to this case who is in a position to know virtually everything” said they had thought Epstein “liked the very young teen types that could pass for even younger than they were, but would look legal to a passerby.” Liberals immediately seized on her remarks, including comedian Patton Oswalt—who got suspended from BlueSky for quoting Kelly beneath this succinct assessment: “Wood chipper, feet first.”

During the Wednesday segment, in conversation with NewsNation’s Batya Ungar-Sargon, Kelly made a point of saying she did not support this behavior: “It’s sick,” she said. Still, Kelly seemed intent on defining Epstein as a sex offender who did not target really young children. “I don’t know what’s true about [Epstien], but we have yet to see anybody come forward and say, I was under 10, I was under 14, when I first came within his purview,” Kelly said Wednesday. “You can say that’s a distinction without a difference. I think there is a difference. There’s a difference between a 15-year-old and a five-year-old, you know?”

  • Turning Point, moving forward without Charlie Kirk, makes first return to Utah since his killing

Turning Point USA’s college tour will return to Utah on Tuesday for its first event in the state since its founder, Charlie Kirk, was assassinated on a college campus earlier this month. The stop, at Utah State University in Logan, is about two hours north of Utah Valley University, where Kirk was killed Sept. 10 by a gunman who fired a single shot through the crowd while Kirk was speaking. The assassination of a top ally of President Donald Trump and one of the most significant figures in his Make America Great Again movement has galvanized conservatives, who have vowed to carry on Kirk’s mission of encouraging young voters to embrace conservatism and moving American politics further right. • Questions linger about alleged shooter’s motivation for killing Charlie Kirk

Though the suspect in the killing of conservative activist Charlie Kirk was revealed by authorities on Friday, questions surrounding his identity and motivations have exacerbated intense US political debates in the aftermath of the shooting.

Authorities revealed Kirk’s suspected killer to be Tyler Robinson, a 22-year-old man who grew up in Washington, Utah, along the state’s south-western border.

In absence of a clear motive for the slaying, reports have tried to piece together information about Robinson and his background. He is a third-year student in an electrical apprenticeship program at Dixie Technical College in the state. Both of his parents are registered Republicans, though his personal political beliefs remain unclear. Now-deleted pictures on social media show Robinson and his family posing with guns.

In an interview with the Wall Street Journal published on Saturday, Utah’s governor, Spencer Cox, said: “It’s very clear to us and to investigators that this was a person who was deeply indoctrinated with leftist ideology.” Cox cited the findings of the ongoing investigation into Robinson and his possible motive but did not provide any further details about how officials arrived at that conclusion.

Those remarks from Cox were published a day after he delivered a speech following Robinson’s arrest where he had a candid moment about Robinson’s identity as a Utahn.

“Bad stuff happens, and for 33 hours, I was praying that if this had to happen here, it wouldn’t be one of us,” Cox said. “That somebody drove from another state, somebody came from another country. Sadly, that prayer was not answered the way I hoped for.”

He went on to explain that it would have been “easier on us” if the suspect weren’t from the community.

“Just because I thought it would make it easier on us to say, ‘Hey, we don’t do that here.’ Indeed, Utah is a special place, we lead the nation in charitable giving, we lead the nation in service every year,” Cox said, tears welling in his eyes. “But it did happen here, and it was one of us.”

After Robinson’s identity was revealed, some conservatives have softened their attacks against Kirk’s alleged murderer as an individual – but continue to leverage anger toward liberals as a group.

Republican congresswoman Nancy Mace of South Carolina tweeted on Wednesday that “it’s time to bring back the death penalty” following Kirk’s murder.

On Friday, Mace said that Kirk “would want us to pray for such an evil and lost individual like Tyler Robinson to find Jesus Christ”.

“We will try to do the same,” she wrote.

She later doubled down on the death penalty, saying: “Some crimes are so evil, the only just punishment is the death penalty.” But, referring to the way the suspect’s father reportedly had a role in turning him over to authorities, she also said: “We are sending prayers and our high regards to Tyler Robinson’s father for doing the right thing.”

Cox’s speech has largely been praised as highlighting unity during a divisive moment, providing a stark contrast to Donald Trump, who considered Kirk a close ally. The president on Friday appeared on Fox & Friends and was asked by host Ainsley Earhardt, “How do we fix this country? How do we come back together?”

“The radicals on the right are radical because they don’t want to see crime,” Trump said. “The radicals on the left are the problem – and they are vicious and horrible and politically savvy. They want men in women’s sports, they want transgender people, they want open borders. The worst thing that happened to this country.”

Conservatives had latched onto reports – that have since been retracted – that the casings for bullets found with the gun that police suspect was used to kill Kirk were engraved with markings indicating “trans ideology”.

“To the surprise of literally no one,” Megyn Kelly said on her show earlier in the aftermath of Kirk’s killing. “There’s one particular group that’s been running around killing Americans in the name of ideology, and it’s transgender activists or individuals, or those who proclaim that they are.”

Once Robinson’s identity was revealed, Kelly speculated that Robinson must have been radicalized after going to college.

“This kid got radicalized, and obviously had a psychotic break … I am disturbed to see that he appears to have come from a loving, intact family,” Kelly said. “If you look at the family social media profile, it looks like a happy family. It looks like a loving mom, and a loving dad. He had two younger brothers, there’s lots of family photos of them going on vacations and family dinners.”

Kelly noted that while authorities will be seeking the death penalty, it is ultimately a “mental health issue” that underpins the “radicalization” of young people who go to college.

Meanwhile, white nationalist Nick Fuentes sought to shut down speculation that Robinson may have been a “Groyper”, a nickname for a follower of Fuentes, after reports on the engravings on the bullets of the alleged killer’s gun led to theorizing on his ideology.

Groypers had long criticized Kirk and trolled speakers at his events because the former perceived the latter to be too politically moderate.

While Fuentes claimed in a social media post that he and his followers were “currently being framed for the murder of Charlie Kirk,” he also said in a streaming video: “I pray to God there is no further violence.”

“To all of my followers, if you take up arms, I disavow you,” Fuentes said. “I disown you in the strongest possible terms.”

  • Megyn Kelly Torches ‘Classless’ Jimmy Kimmel For Terrible Oscars Hosting Performance

Megyn Kelly Torches ‘Classless’ Jimmy Kimmel For Terrible Oscars Hosting Performance

Source YouTube: Megyn Kelly, Jimmy Kimmel Live!

The former Fox News host Megyn Kelly is speaking out to slam the “classless” Jimmy Kimmel for the way he hosted the Oscars on Sunday night after he used the show to shamelessly bash Donald Trump. Kelly fired back by torching Kimmel and bringing up his documented history of blackface.

    Kelly Eviscerates Kimmel

Though Kimmel initially avoided politics while hosting the Oscars, he took a shot at Trump at the end of the show after the former president bashed his hosting style on social media.

“Thank you, President Trump,” Kimmel said, according to CBS News. “Thank you for watching. I’m surprised you’re still up. Isn’t it past jail time?”

This didn’t sit well with Kelly, who fired back at Kimmel on her eponymous SiriusXM talk show.

“He found time to take a shot at Trump, he found time to take a shot at Katie Britt, he did not find any time to make fun of Joe Biden who is the sitting president of the United—I just guess there’s no fodder there, nothing to joke about,” Kelly said.

Kelly’s guest Andrew Klavan, a conservative political commentator, responded by saying that Kimmel “just following what the news media is doing.” He added that he was surprised that Kimmel never mentioned President Joe Biden, who had just given “the worst State of the Union address in my lifetime,” which he called “ugly and divisive.”

Kelly Brings Up Kimmel’s Blackface History

Earlier in the show, Kelly criticized the Oscars audience, “who laughed and curried favor with the man who wore blackface so many times, he’s second only to Justin Trudeau in his fondness for the practice.”

Kelly went on to say that the Hollywood stars “absolutely ate up the performance by Hollywood darling Mr. Kimmel” even though “some of the very same celebrities who wanted you to believe they were horrified — horrified — after yours truly said in 2018 that people used to don dark makeup to imitate well-known black celebrities and it wasn’t a big deal.”

The New York Post reported that this was a reference to Kimmel wearing blackface to portray the black Utah Jazz star Karl Malone in a skit on “The Man Show” back in the 1990s. He also wore dark makeup to portray Oprah Winfrey in another skit. In contrast, Kelly was fired by NBC in 2018 after she simply weighed in on those wearing blackface, saying that “in the 70s/80s, it used to be viewed differently.”

“Obviously Kimmel’s love of blackface was not a deal-breaker for ABC — which already employs him as a late-night host and which, in addition to its many blackface awards shows, also produced and promoted many shows and stars in blackface,” Kelly lamented.

“It appears the real sin with blackface, you see, is talking about how standards on it have changed, not actually wearing it,” she continued. “You can still win Oscars and host the Oscars after doing that.”

Kelly Rips Kimmel For Robert Downey Jr. Joke

Kelly also ripped into Kimmel for a joke he made at the expense of Robert Downey Jr., who won the Best Supporting Actor Oscar on Sunday night for his work in Oppenheimer.

“This is the highest point of Robert Downey Jr’s career… well, one of the highest points,” Kimmel said during the opening monologue. When Downey Jr. responded by tapping his nose in a sign of recognition, Kimmel asked: “Was that too on the nose or a drug motion you made?”

A visibly annoyed Downey Jr. reacted to this by signaling Kimmel to move on from the joke.

“What Kimmel did last night, was he tried to mock people’s weaknesses and things they had genuinely fought hard to overcome, like he did to Robert Downey Jr, who wound up being a favorite of the night,” Kelly said.

“But before he won Best Supporting Actor for Oppenheimer, Kimmel, in his opening monologue, decided to take a shot at—everyone knows about Robert Downey Jr’s long history with drugs and alcohol,” she continued. “It’s something no one celebrates but he needs to be given credit for overcoming.”

After Kelly played a clip of the exchange, she added, “What was that? That was just classless.”

Kelly concluded by comparing the way Kimmel hosted the Oscars to the way the British comedian Ricky Gervais hosted the Golden Globes on five separate occasions in 2010, 2011, 2012, 2016 and 2020, according to Newsweek.

“Last night, one of the things I think stood out about Kimmel’s hosting was, he didn’t get it. The reason Ricky Gervais did so well when he hosted those Golden Globes and just eviscerated everyone in that room is because he was making fun of them on things that we knew were true,” Kelly explained.

“Y’know kind of, their abuse of their own power, their self-importance and that kind of thing and he was punching up, which is okay,” she stated.

Check out Kelly’s full comments on this in the video below.

The hypocrisy of Kimmel and the rest of Hollywood never ceases to amaze, and good for Kelly for calling them all out. No wonder the Oscars has been struggling to get anyone to watch for years!

Megyn Kelly Annihilates Biden – ‘Trump Will Win The Election’

    Opinion

Source YouTube: Megyn Kelly, Fox News

The former Fox News host Megyn Kelly spoke out against President Joe Biden on Monday night, saying that recent polling numbers that show him training Donald Trump by 35 points are “devastating” for him.

Kelly Sounds Off On Trump And Biden

“If nothing changes, Trump will win the election,” Kelly said as she talked to The Fifth Column co-host Kmele Foster and International Women’s Forum Senior Policy Analyst Inez Stepman.

Kelly went on to call out both Biden and Donald Trump for not passing immigration reform, slamming what she feels is the false notion of the migrants being portrayed as “asylum seekers,” saying most of their claims are “bulls***.’

“It’s all bulls*** because most of the asylum seekers are not seeking asylum. It’s a lie!” Kelly said. “They could have sought asylum in Mexico. They went right through Mexico because they want to be here.”

“They don’t want to actually assimilate, a lot of them, but they want their government check,” she continued. “They want a driver’s license. They want to do all the things that American citizens do without doing any of the things that people who immigrated here legally and jumped through all the hoops had to do.”

    Kelly Doubles Down

Kelly went on to say that despite that, “there could be more funding for asylum claims to be processed” and Biden and Trump “didn’t do it” even though they each had both houses of Congress for the first two years of their presidencies.

“Those people should be processed, and we should figure out who genuinely needs our help and shares our value,” Kelly added. “But we don’t do any of that. And now they want to give Mayorkas a magic wand to say ‘I deem ye asylum seekers. Welcome to America!’ That’s not how it works.”

Not stopping there, Kelly proceeded to rip into Trump’s main rival for the Republican presidential nomination Nikki Haley for her appearance on “Saturday Night Live!” over the weekend.

“I’ve got serious questions about whether this is a good idea,” Kelly exclaimed. “What’s next? ‘The Daily Show?’ How about Scarborough? Tiptoe through those tulips. Rachel Maddow? Joy Reid? Why doesn’t she go on her show? I don’t get it.”

“I like the Vivek Ramaswamy philosophy of like going everywhere and trying to get as many votes as you can get. I’m just not sure SNL is one of the venues where there’s any potential votes available,” she continued.

  • ‘The Boys’ Star Erin Moriarty Quits Instagram After Megyn Kelly’s Bullying

‘The Boys’ Star Erin Moriarty Quits Instagram After Megyn Kelly’s Bullying

Erin Moriarty, who plays Annie/Starlight on Amazon’s The Boys, has quit Instagram after former Fox News pundit and white supremacist Barbie Megyn Kelly accused her of having extensive plastic surgery.

Kelly made the accusations via her Sirius XM podcast The Megyn Kelly Show, where she targeted Moriarty and baselessly claimed she had an “addiction” to plastic surgery. Kelly’s fans quickly turned on Moriarty, flooding her social media accounts with nasty and harassing comments.

Moriarty posted a statement to her Instagram announcing she was deactivating her account. She wrote, “This is something I truly never anticipated writing. We’re all subject to levels of bullying throughout our lives but I am horrified, and I felt that I deserved to take a second to address these things … To receive a message about a disgustingly false, counterproductive to the degree of being ironically misogynistic video of Megyn Kelly commenting on the manner — to learn the widespread nature of this has left me horrified.”

Moriarty added, “This is becoming harassment. This is becoming false news … And I am horrified by the reaction, the reductive assumptions, and the aforementioned video that is a primary example of such harassment. It’s broken my heart. You’ve broken my heart. You’ve lost the privilege of this account. so, you can believe whatever you want,” she continued. “But there’s no excuse for these horrific allegations, the verbal abuse that I have had to delete, and the genuinely false information that is being used to perpetrate a message that is exhibitionist feminism. You don’t have to believe me when I say these videos are absolutely false but the way this has been spoken about, the way I have been spoken to, I will not accept.”

Moriarty finished her post by writing, “Shame on you Megyn Kelly. Shame on you, Fox News (Vought incarnate).”

Moriarty has since received supportive posts from co-stars Jack Quaid and Chace Crawford, as well as her many fans. This isn’t the first time Moriarty has been targeted by trolls, but it is the first time she’s been attacked by a mouthpiece with a large audience. Kelly, who is 53 years old, seems to think she has a right to bully anyone she wants. Perhaps she is just jealous of the actress, who is 14 years her junior. More likely, she is scrambling for relevance after getting fired from NBC for defending blackface. After all, it must sting to go from network news anchor to moderator of debates on a right-wing offshoot channel.

Megyn Kelly Torches ‘Entitled’ ‘New Feminists’ For Melting Down Over ‘Barbie’ Oscar Snubs – ‘It’s Never Enough’

    Opinion

Source YouTube: Megyn Kelly Show, Warner Bros. Pictures

Earlier this week, we reported that liberals like Hillary Clinton were melting down over Barbie director Greta Gerwig and star Margot Robbie being snubbed by the Oscars. Now, the former Fox News host Megyn Kelly is firing back to slam the “new feminists” who are upset about Gerwig and Robbie not being nominated.

Related: Hillary Clinton Mourns ‘Barbie’ Oscar Snubs – ‘#HillaryBarbie’

    Kelly Sounds Off

“It’s so ridiculous now that women – now that we’re considered equals of course, and are getting treated like – 1706358373 we deserve all the awards,” Kelly said on her eponymous SiriusXM talk show. “All the women we choose need to be nominated for the positions we think otherwise, the f–g patriarchy. That’s literally what they’re tweeting out that … ‘they made a movie about the patriarchy and then the patriarchy kept them down.’”

Kelly went on to point out that while Gerwig and Robbie were not nominated in the categories that they were expected to be recognized in, Barbie actress America Ferrera scored an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actress for her work in the film.

“Did they keep America Ferrera down because she seems really thrilled that she got this nomination for Best Supporting Actress and Greta got a nod as best screenwriter, but it’s never enough,” Kelly continued. “Barbie didn’t get enough nominations. Alright, so the new feminists are very, very angry that Margot Robbie did not get nominated for Best Actress and Greta Gerwig did not get nominated for Best Director because, you see, they were entitled to. That’s pretty much what I understand is the argument.”

“The best supporting actress, America Ferrera who was in that movie, she got the nod. And for best screenplay, Greta Gerwig was nominated with the man with whom she co-wrote the movie,” she added. “But that’s not enough, you see. You’re a misogynist unless you actually make Margot Robbie the nominee for Best Actress and recognize Greta in her directing role. And that’s just how life works.”

Ferrera Whines About Barbie Oscar Snubs

This came after Ferrera responded to her Oscar nomination by whining about Gerwig and Robbie being snubbed.

“I was incredibly disappointed that they weren’t nominated,” Ferrera told Variety. “Greta has done just about everything that a director could do to deserve it. Creating this world, and taking something that didn’t have inherent value to most people and making it a global phenomenon. It feels disappointing to not see her on that list.”

“What Margot achieved as an actress is truly unbelievable,” Ferrera continued. “One of the things about Margot as an actress is how easy she makes everything look. And perhaps people got fooled into thinking that the work seems easy, but Margot is a magician as an actress in front of the screen, and it was one of the honors of my career to get to witness her pull off the amazing performance she did. She brings so much heart and humor and depth and joy and fun to the character. In my book, she’s a master.”

    ‘#HillaryBarbie’

Even the two-time failed presidential candidate Hillary Clinton got in on the action by comforting Gerwig and Robbie on social media.

“Greta & Margot,” Clinton began, “While it can sting to win the box office but not take home the gold, your millions of fans love you.”

“You’re both so much more than Kenough,” she continued, borrowing a phrase from the film. She concluded her post by adding the nauseating hashtag, “#HillaryBarbie.”

The liberal meltdown over the Barbie Oscar snubs has been nothing short of ridiculous, and we’re glad that Kelly had the guts to call them out on it. What do you think about what Kelly had to say? Let us know in the comments section.

  • Megyn Kelly Reveals What’s Really Wrong With Kamala Harris – ‘She Thinks She’s Rush Limbaugh’

Megyn Kelly Reveals What’s Really Wrong With Kamala Harris – ‘She Thinks She’s Rush Limbaugh’

    Opinion

Source YouTube: Megyn Kelly Show, CBS Mornings

The former Fox News host Megyn Kelly spoke out this week to reveal what’s really wrong with Vice President Kamala Harris, saying that she talks to people “like they’re on the short bus.”

    Kelly Eviscerates Harris

During Thursday’s episode of her eponymous SiriusXM talk show, Kelly played a clip from Harris’ appearance on “The View” earlier this week in which she said that she is “scared as heck” of Donald Trump being reelected.

“She thinks she’s Rush Limbaugh. She’s not. It’s so obvious,” Kelly said in response. “She tries to explain things to people all the time, as though she’s talking to a 2 year old. And look, I talk to my audience about complex things all the time, and I never assume anybody understands a complex thing. I always give a couple lines of explanation because people are living their lives and they’re not following politics day and night like I am. But I don’t treat them like they’re idiots.”

“I have a respect for my audience’s intelligence that they deserve because I talk to my audience,” Kelly continued. “They call in all the time on SiriusXM, they write in at MegynKelly.com. She talks to the people listening to her like she thinks they’re on the short bus. Forgive me, but she does.”

Not stopping there, Kelly went on to say that she feels “insulted” by the way that Harris speaks.

“All I feel is insulted. My intelligence is insulted. I’m bored by you. I’m offended by you,” Kelly said. “The thing is, it almost makes me think of Oprah. So Oprah actually was full of profundities when she did that show. But back in the day when I was young and in law school and you turn on ‘The Oprah Winfrey Show,’ you would hear something. She was the one we got the ‘aha moment’ from.”

“She would have this little catchphrase where you’re like, ‘Oh, yeah, that’s something to think about,’ and her team would set it to music and they’d slow down the interaction, and you’d be moved,” Kelly added. “You’d think, ‘Oh, I feel inspired.’ She thinks she’s Oprah. She thinks we’re going to add a little twinkly music. I’m going to say it like this, and even though it’s total inanity, it’s going to move people.”

Check out Kelly’s full comments on this in the video below.

Related: Kamala Harris Admits She’s ‘Scared As Heck’ Of Trump

This isn’t the first time that Kelly has blasted Harris publicly. In July of last year, she ripped Harris as a “moron” after saying that she gave her “the benefit of the doubt” at first.

“I did not think she was an idiot. I now think she’s a moron. She’s not that smart. Forgive me, I’m still one of those people who gets wooed by titles like, ‘She was the attorney general in state of California.’ You know, how dumb could she be? Like, dumb. The answer is very, very dumb,” Kelly said, according to OK! Magazine. “And I come to that conclusion just with my own eyes and ears from watching and listening to her. She cannot put two sentences together.”

“She’s just not a smart person, and it concerns me because that’s all we have in line at the Democratic side. And as [Donald] Trump’s numbers continue to go up and up and up – and I realize some of the polls are showing him beating Joe Biden now in a hypothetical matchup – he’s still very vulnerable,” she added. “He did not win in 2020 and it looks like it’s gonna be the same matchup, and honestly, Joe Biden’s knocking on the Grim Reaper’s door, and she could be the President of the United States in the next six years by default, if things go in a dark and upsetting way. I’m concerned.”

Harris Is More Unpopular Than Ever

Millions of Americans will agree with Kelly’s assessment of Harris, whose approval rating fell from 41.7 percent to 36.3 percent last year while her disapproval increased from 51.7 percent to 53.7 percent, according to analysis by polling website 538. Thomas Gift, who heads up the Centre on U.S. Politics at University College London, told Newsweek last month that Harris’ unpopularity “could end up being a difference-maker” in the 2024 presidential election.

“To realize just how unpopular Kamala Harris is, you have to keep in mind the historical significance of it all,” Gift said. “No one in her position has had this low of favorabilities in a first term since Dan Quayle. That’s saying something. So it’s no surprise, especially with Biden’s age, that Republicans keep hammering home a simple point: a vote for Biden is a vote for Harris.

“While it’s usually the top of the ticket that drives voting, and that will be true again in 2024, Harris’ abysmal popularity will matter on the margins,” he added. “And with next year’s election poised to be close, those margins could end up being a difference-maker.”

  • Megyn Kelly Torches Nikki Haley For Refusing To Say If Men Can Become Women – 'Wangs And Caucuses'

Megyn Kelly Torches Nikki Haley For Refusing To Say If Men Can Become Women – 'Wangs And Caucuses'

    Opinion

Sources YouTube: Megyn Kelly Show, Fox News

The former Fox News host Megyn Kelly spoke out on Monday to blast the Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley for refusing to say if a man can become a woman.

    Kelly Shuts Down Haley

During Monday’s episode of her eponymous SiriusXM talk show, Kelly played a clip in which Haley was asked “Can a man become a woman?” during a town hall in Iowa on Sunday.

“There’s been a lot that’s been talked about when it comes to, um, all of these roles and all of these issues,” Haley replied. “I strongly believe that we should not allow any gender change surgeries to anyone before the age of 18. Period.”

“We — kids now, can’t get a tattoo until they’re 18,” she continued. “We shouldn’t have them permanently change their body until they’re 18. And that includes puberty blockers. That includes any sort of hormones that would do that. After the age of 18 — we want to make sure people can live any way they want to.”

Kelly, however, was not having any of it.

“That’s a dodge,” Kelly said response to Haley’s comments. “The answer’s no.”

Kelly’s guest Dave Rubin agreed with her, pointing out that sex change surgeries do not change the patient’s gender.

“If I chopped my wang off live while we were doing this live, that wouldn’t make me a woman, and if you chopped some tissue off your arm and gave yourself one, that wouldn’t make you a man,” Rubin said. “I’m sorry, I know it’s a little early in the day. I’ve been under a lot of pressure with this caucus thing, but you get the point.”

Kelly could not help but laugh at this.

“Oh my god, this is like an X-rated show. Wangs and caucuses,” she said.

Kelly previously talked to The Washington Examiner about the transgender issue, saying that children are the ones “paying the price” with the uptick in young people identifying as trans and undergoing medical procedures such as hormone replacement therapy at early ages.

“It’s exploded from a very small niche mental health issue into something that is a social justice dangerous contagion that is leading to sterility,” Kelly said, going on to detail “the voluntary removal of healthy body parts [and] removal of custody from well-meaning parents who love their children” occurring as a result of this social movement.

“I really see this as the women’s rights issue of our time,” she said.

Kelly revealed in June of last year that though she was once protective of transgender people, she will no longer be using “preferred pronouns” because of how out of control this movement has gotten.

Haley Sounds Off On Transgender Issue

Last month, Haley said that she will “always fight” against biological boys playing girls sports.

“They can find a place for trans kids to play sports, but biological boys should not be playing in girls’ sports,” Haley said, according to The Advocate. “My daughter ran track in high school. I don’t know how I would even have that conversation with her. How do we tell our girls that it’s OK to have a biological boy in their locker room? It’s not. In no scenario.”

“You’ve got women who have worked so hard all their life to really get to points in high school and college where they want to, and to have a biological man, who’s physiologically different, athletically, go and take that away from those women, no, we’re not gonna erase the women like that,” she continued. “You can’t do that. You can find other ways of dealing with this, but it doesn’t have to be on the backs of our girls, who we’re trying to make strong. It’s the wrong thing to do, and I’ll always fight against that.”

Megyn Kelly Demolishes Don Lemon After He Announces New Show – 'He F***ing Hates Republicans'

    Opinion

    Source YouTube: Megyn Kelly

Earlier this week, we reported that the former CNN host Don Lemon had launched his media comeback after it was announced that he is getting his own show on the social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter. Now, the former Fox News host Megyn Kelly is firing back by revealing why she is “not rooting” for Lemon’s success in this endeavor.

    Kelly Torches Lemon

“I’m not rooting for him,” Kelly said bluntly on Thursday’s episode of her eponymous SiriusXM show. “Our old pal Don Lemon has resurfaced, or is about to resurface. And I realize that the magnanimous move is to say, ‘Good for Don. He got cancelled off of CNN, and now he’s reinventing himself on X.’”

“Well, that’s not what I say!” she continued. “I think he’s disgusting, he hates America, he hates Republicans and I’m not looking forward to his voice reemerging other than to mock it, which I 100% plan to do.”

Not stopping there, Kelly proceeded to double down.

“I just have a little reminder for you of who Don Lemon is and why we can’t stand him!” Kelly exclaimed before showing a clip of some of his worst moments on CNN, where he ranted about topics like Donald Trump and COVID-19 anti-vaxxers.

Backstory: Don Lemon Will Launch A New Show On Twitter/X

‘He’s Shown Us Who He Is – Believe Him’

“He was off the air for two minutes and now now people are like, ‘Oh, maybe he’s seen the light,’” Kelly said. “‘You know, maybe he’s going to come back more fair and balanced.’ Oh, sure. Sure, Jan! I mean, bulls–t. He’s shown us who he is. Believe him.”

“This is not someone who I’m rooting for,” she added. “I’m not saying he should never be allowed to speak again. I’m just saying I don’t have to personally cheerlead it, or think it’s a good thing, or recognize that this is some sort of important voice in the conversation and yay for Elon [Musk] for making it possible for him to come back.”

“He’s a prick and he f–king hates Republicans … It shows that it’s not just a partisan thing … Don Lemon truly hates the right half of the country. Hates,” Kelly concluded. “And would love to see almost all of them canceled who voted for Trump. So no, I’m not rooting for him in any way, shape or form.”

Lemon announced his new show on X earlier this week.

“I’ve heard you … and today I am back, bigger, bolder, freer! My new media company’s first project is ‘The Don Lemon Show,’” Lemon said. “It will be available to everyone, easily, whenever and where you want it, streaming on the platforms where the conversations are happening.”

“And you’ll find it first on X, the biggest space for free speech in the world. I know now more than ever that we need a place for honest debate and discussion without the hall monitors,” he continued. “This is just the beginning so stay tuned.”

Elon Musk, the CEO of X, confirmed that the show is happening.

Kid Rock Fires Back At Megyn Kelly After She Slams Him For Dropping Bud Light Boycott

    Opinion

Source: YouTube, Fox News, Megyn Kelly

Kid Rock recently announced that he is dropping his boycott of Bud Light that he launched after the brand teamed up with the transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney for a partnership back in April. He is now firing back at the former Fox News host Megyn Kelly after she slammed him for ditching this boycott.

    Kelly Rips Kid Rock

During an appearance on Newsmax, Kid Rock was asked about comments made by Kelly, who recently blasted him for ending his Bud Light boycott.

“This is like the only successful boycott that Republicans have ever engaged in,” Kelly said on her SiriusXM show. “It’s the only time they’ve stuck together and actually been heard. And because Kid Rock and Dana White want to give it up, we’re supposed to all surrender our principles now.”

“And I like Kid Rock. I actually do. I like the guy, but he’s wrong. He can do what he wants. If he wants to drink a Bud Light, he can. He does not speak for the rest of us!” she continued. “Many of us are still deeply offended by that brand’s partnership with the person who makes his living mocking women, Dylan Mulvaney. Not to mention what they said about their core audience and customer base, which is that they’ve ‘gotten too fratty and they want to get away from them.’ Who at Bud Light thinks that we do what Kid Rock tells us to?”

    Kid Rock Fires Back

When asked about her remarks, Kid Rock was quick to fire back at her.

“Well, first of all, first off, I love Megyn,” he began. “We’ve been friends for a long time, but she’s got this one wrong. Saying me and Dana don’t speak for conservatives, neither one of us ever said we did. You know, I explained myself before on another program about Bud Light.”

“I’m pretty sure they got the message,” he added. “Do I agree with what they did? F no! And we held their head under water for quite some time and we hurt them. But, you know, I’m not someone to keep punching somebody when they’re down, when there’s a whole lot more companies deserving of this treatment.”

“And, you know, and Dana has told me specifically as a very good friend of mine about, you know, the things they’ve done through the years with Folds of Honor,” Kid Rock continued. “So has Lieutenant Colonel Dan Rooney, for that matter, and countless other things. And I’m like, I get it. They made a mistake. All right. I don’t need to kill them.”

This comes weeks after Kid Rock announced that he is ending his Bud Light boycott.

“At the end of the day, when you step back and look at it, like, yeah, they deserved a black eye and they got one. They made a mistake,” Kid Rock told Tucker Carlson earlier this month. “So, do I want to hold their head under water and drown them because they made a mistake? No, I think they got the message.”

“Hopefully, other companies get it too but, at the end of the day, I don’t think the punishment that they’ve been getting at this point fits the crime,” he added. “I would like to see us back on board and become bigger because that’s the America that I want to live in.”

Megyn Kelly is calling for fans to boycott Taylor Swift after the singer attended a comedy night in Brooklyn that donated proceeds to a charity working in Gaza.

Kelly Calls For Boycott Of Swift

Daily Mail reported that Kelly mocked Swift for claiming to support women’s rights and the LGBTQ community, yet still backing a Gaza charity.

“You clearly know nothing,” Kelly said, addressing Swift directly in her rant. “You know what they do to that community in Gaza, Taylor, that you now want to support?”

“You know what Hamas likes to do to women?” she added. “You think we have equal rights over there, Taylor?”

Last Friday, Swift, 34, was spotted at a Ramy Youssef show at the Brooklyn Academy of Music with friends that included the actress Selena Gomez, Cara Delevingne and Zoe Kravitz. Youssef had previously announced that proceeds from the last 12 nights of his “More Feelings” tour would go to the American Near East Refugee Aid (ANERA).

Kelly described ANERA as being “highly political, presenting a highly biased view of the Israel/Palestine war, ignoring any Palestinian responsibility for hardship, and contributing to the demonization of Israel.”

“That is the group Taylor Swift thought it might be fun to help raise money for, attend a fundraiser for, and she owes Israelis and Jewish Americans an apology,” Kelly concluded. “And I hope they boycott her events until she issues it because attending this thing was wrong. It was wrong.”

    Swift’s Deafening Silence On Israel

Swift has yet to comment on any of the backlash she’s received for attending this event. Swift also has not commented publicly at all about the conflict between Israel and Hamas, who murdered and kidnapped hundreds of Israelis in terrorist attacks carried out on October 7.

Newsweek reported that after Swift was named Time’s Person of the Year last week, some said that her silence about Israel meant that she did not deserve this honor.

“I’m a massive Taylor Swift fan, and you can make the argument that pop stars shouldn’t need to speak out about war/conflict/genocide (I disagree but you can argue this),” one social media user commented. “But Taylor has defined herself as someone who now speaks out on issues, even if it costs her.”

“Taylor must feel something about the ongoing humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza,” the user continued. “Her silence is an active choice and it betrays the image of herself that she created.”

    Swift’s Liberal Politics

While Swift has been silent about the Israel-Hamas conflict, she’s been all too happy to preach about liberal causes as a proud Democrat in the past. Back in 2020, she accused then-President Donald Trump of trying to “blatantly cheat” to win the election.

“Donald Trump’s ineffective leadership gravely worsened the crisis that we are in, and he is now taking advantage of it to subvert and destroy our right to vote and vote safely. Request a ballot early. Vote early,” she said at the time, according to Fox News. “We will vote you out in November.”

It’s always rich when liberals like Swift who claim to stand for women and LGBTQ people support Hamas, which is perhaps the most anti-feminist and anti-LGBTQ group on the planet. In the end, Swift shouldn’t be surprised if Kelly’s calls for a boycott do end up coming true.

Trump Torches Megyn Kelly As 'Biggest Loser' After She Claims He's Not As 'Mentally Sharp' As He Was

    Opinion

    Source: Megyn Kelly Show YouTube

The former President Donald Trump is firing back at the former Fox News host Megyn Kelly after she claimed that he has lost “multiple steps,” and that he is not as “mentally sharp” as he was back in 2016.

    Kelly Attacks Trump

“There’s no question Trump has lost a step or multiple steps,” Kelly told Glenn Beck on Friday. “He is confusing Joe Biden for [Barack] Obama … I know he’s now saying he intentionally did that — go back and look at the clips, it wasn’t intentional. The reference about how somebody is going to get us into World War II, confusing countries, confusing cities where he is, and it’s happening more and more.”

“This is what happens when you’re 77-years-old. Trump seems inhuman, but he’s not inhuman. He’s a human. He’s a man,” Kelly continued. “DeSantis’ line about ‘Father Time spares no one,’ was a good one. So, look, if it’s between Trump and Biden, I don’t think there’s any question who’s more fit and more capable. But are we really going to pretend that Donald Trump is just as vibrant and mentally sharp as he was in ’16?”

    Trump Fires Back

Trump fired back at Kelly on social media, saying, “What the hell happened to her? She has lost whatever she once had, which wasn’t very much.”

“Some things never change!” he continued, according to The New York Post.

While Trump has confused Biden and Obama man times as of late, he has claimed that this is actually intentional on his part.

“Whenever I sarcastically insert the name Obama for Biden as an indication that others may actually be having a very big influence in running our Country, Ron DeSanctimonious and his failing campaign apparatus, together with the Democrat’s Radical Left ‘Disinformation Machine,’ go wild saying that ‘Trump doesn’t know the name of our President, (CROOKED!) Joe Biden. He must be cognitively impaired,” Trump said on social media last month.

    Trump And Kelly’s History

There has long been no love lost between Trump and Kelly. After Trump sat down with Kelly for an interview earlier this year, he blasted her as “nasty” during a speech in Iowa in September.

“I sat down for an hour, and then I did a Megyn Kelly one,” Trump said at the time, according to The Hill. He was seemingly referring to his previous interview with NBC’s “Meet the Press.”

“I, she was, you know, boy, she became nastier all of a sudden,” Trump continued of Kelly. “She was pretty nasty, didn’t you think, anyone that watched it.”

Trump and Kelly infamously clashed after she moderated a Republican presidential debate back in 2015. At the time,  Trump said of Kelly that “you could see there was blood coming out of her eyes, blood coming out of her wherever.”

As for Kelly, she’s claimed that she no longer has an issue with Trump.

“You know, all that nonsense between us is under the bridge, and he could not have been more magnanimous,” she recently said.

Megyn Kelly Mocked For Having A Meltdown Over Jill Biden’s Title

Conservative commentator Megyn Kelly threw a fit on Twitter during Sunday’s NFC championship game over a single word uttered by the announcers: “Doctor,” as in “Dr. Jill Biden.”

The announcers used the title when they spotted her in the crowd, causing Kelly to rage-tweet:

But despite her gripes about the first lady, Kelly has had no problem with the “doctor” honorific for other non-medical doctors. In a 2015 Fox News interview, she introduced Sebastian Gorka ― who has a Ph.D. in political science ― as “Dr. Gorka,” and used the title throughout. She’s also referred to him that way on Twitter.

Kelly’s critics on Twitter called foul:

As Election Day approaches, Trump-DeSantis 2024 rivalry seeps into the public | CNN Politics

    CNN
     —

When Election Day arrives in Florida, Donald Trump will vote for a Republican whose political demise he may soon find himself plotting.

Months after Trump told The Wall Street Journal he would support Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis’ bid for reelection, the former President and his home-state governor appear increasingly likely to collide in a heated 2024 presidential primary. While neither has formally announced a presidential campaign, both have taken steps in the closing days of the 2022 cycle to cement themselves as team players and kingmakers – locking horns in those pursuits.

“We have a rift with Trump. Big shocker,” said a source close to the DeSantis campaign, who was granted anonymity to speak candidly. “It’s no secret that things are cool between [Trump and DeSantis] right now. They’re not punching each other, but we’re not helping them and they’re not helping us.”

A rivalry that had mostly existed behind the scenes burst into public view this week after DeSantis recorded a robocall endorsing Republican businessman Joe O’Dea, an underdog in the Colorado Senate race who vowed earlier this month to “actively campaign” against Trump if he mounts a third presidential bid. While the Florida governor has supported other Republican midterm candidates, none of them have been as explicitly critical of Trump as O’Dea.

The move did not go unnoticed by the former President, who has spent months griping to aides about DeSantis and amplifying claims that he would handily beat the governor in a Republican primary.

“A BIG MISTAKE!” Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform of DeSantis endorsing O’Dea. Three days later, Trump announced plans for a rally in South Florida with the state’s senior senator, Marco Rubio. DeSantis was not invited, a source told CNN.

The first signs of a strain in Trump’s relationship with DeSantis began last fall amid the Florida Republican’s soaring popularity and thinly veiled criticism of Trump’s Covid-19 policies as president.

Despite efforts by allies of both men to defuse tensions, their strained relationship has persisted for months and now appears at a crescendo as Trump readies a post-midterm 2024 campaign announcement and DeSantis barrels toward reelection with potentially historic support from Florida Hispanics.

“Trump has to be concerned because DeSantis has built an unprecedented base in the Hispanic community,” said one Florida-based Republican consultant.

DeSantis has also spent the past year making inroads with deep-pocketed Republican donors and laying the groundwork for a potential 2024 campaign launch next year, according to allies, some of whom said he doesn’t want to rush his potential entry into what is likely to be a crowded primary. It’s those overt steps toward a White House bid that have most irritated the former President.

Days after Trump slammed the Florida governor for endorsing in the Colorado Senate contest, DeSantis committed another cardinal sin in the eyes of the former President when he once again refused to rule out a presidential run if Trump is a candidate. During a Monday debate against his Democratic opponent, Charlie Crist, DeSantis declined to commit to serving a four-year term if reelected, standing in silence as his opponent repeatedly raised the subject. Privately, Trump allies gloated over the debate, questioning DeSantis’ ability to endure a debate against Trump.

“DeSantis did fine for a race he’s crushing,” said one Republican operative who has worked with both men. “It’s a whole different ballgame when he’s on a stage next to Donald Trump. Trump has a way of very effectively getting under people’s skin, especially on the debate stage.”

Other Republicans dismissed such takeaways as premature – even unfair – given DeSantis’ clear edge in his reelection race and Trump’s inimitable debate style.

“I don’t think that debate mattered at all,” said Brian Ballard, a Florida-based Republican consultant who maintains close ties to both Trump and DeSantis.

“Donald Trump on the debate stage is the most unique political animal in 100 years. Everybody got decimated by him [in 2016],” Ballard added. “I believe Ron DeSantis can hold his own against anybody, but Donald Trump is his own character.”

For months, Trump has worked to cast himself as the automatic front-runner in a contested 2024 primary while asking his own pollsters to identify whether DeSantis or others pose a serious threat.

In perhaps his most direct jab at DeSantis yet, the former President reposted a video to his Truth Social site this week in which former Fox News host Megyn Kelly confidently predicted that Trump would emerge on top in a contest against DeSantis. Kelly repeatedly sparred with Trump during his 2016 presidential campaign, both as a debate moderator and prime-time commentator, but in the video shared by Trump she suggested the former President’s base remains firmly behind him.

“You really think the hardcore MAGA is going to abandon Trump for DeSantis? They’re not. They like DeSantis, but they don’t think it’s his turn,” Kelly says in the clip, adding that “the hardcore Trump faithful is unshakable [and] if forced to choose, they will choose Trump.”

While some Republicans agree with Kelly, others are looking for new blood, exhausted by Trump’s unending legal battles and the media spectacle surrounding him.

Those close to DeSantis say he is content, for now, to let his election performance do the talking for him. Through mid-October, two political committees behind his reelection effort had spent more than $80 million trying to engineer a lopsided victory that would further bolster his resume and deliver an overwhelming mandate for his agenda.

But in conversations with donors, DeSantis allies say he is far less dismissive these days when questioned about a White House bid than he was six months ago – something Trump allies have brought to his attention, further irritating him.

“People are always talking about, wondering about presidential elections in the future and all this stuff,” DeSantis said at a rally Wednesday. “People are concerned about who’s running the country next because no one knows who the hell is running the government now.”

On the campaign trail, the Florida governor has been beta-testing messages that could set him apart in a presidential primary either with or without Trump as a competitor. He has touted his record on the economy, his management of the pandemic and his battles with businesses, Big Tech and school districts over “woke ideology.” Some say the more he can lean into his accomplishments as governor, the less likely he is to draw comparisons with Trump even as he mimics elements of the former President’s political style – from his hand gestures to his public war on the media.

“If I were advising him, I would tell him to ignore that stuff. You’re Ron DeSantis 1.0, not anything 2.0,” said Adam Geller, a former Trump campaign pollster and Republican strategist.

But Trump rallying voters in DeSantis’ state on November 6, two nights before the election, serves as a reminder of how easily he still commands GOP voters. Among Florida Republican operatives, the timing and location of Trump’s event has raised eyebrows. There are Senate battlegrounds considerably more competitive than Florida, where Rubio is favored to defeat Democratic Rep. Val Demings, and neither party has committed significant resources to the state in the closing weeks of the race.

In announcing the visit, Trump once again claimed credit for DeSantis winning the governor’s mansion through “a historic red wave for Florida in the 2018 midterms” with the former President’s “slate of endorsed candidates up and down the ballot.” But Trump also preemptively took ownership of DeSantis’ reelection, saying he had “molded the Sunshine State into the MAGA stronghold it is today.”

A person briefed on the matter said the prospect of a Florida rally was first raised during a phone call between Trump and Rubio following the Florida Senate debate earlier this month. Since the rally is being organized by Trump’s political operation, any effort to involve DeSantis would have likely come from the former President’s orbit. But that did not happen, according to multiple sources familiar with the matter.

“The Senator and President Trump discussed holding a rally in Florida, like he’s doing for Senate races across the country,” said Elizabeth Gregory, a Rubio campaign spokesperson.

Miami is also home to several vibrant Latino communities that shifted to the right under Trump and have continued to trend red in the two years since he left office. Trump will land in the city just before Republicans are poised to have their best electoral showing in Miami-Dade County since Jeb Bush won a second term in 2002.

One Florida-based Republican consultant said he doesn’t think that’s a coincidence.

“We’re potentially going to see Florida Republicans win Miami-Dade County, and it’s pretty clear Trump’s trying to get down there to take credit,” the consultant said.

DeSantis’ campaign didn’t ask to join the program for the Trump rally once it was announced, a source told CNN.

Like Trump, DeSantis has also tried to ascribe greater meaning to Florida’s transformational shift from a purple battleground into a reliably red state. On Wednesday, he told supporters that a big win on Election Day “will send a loud message, I think, across the country to governors in our own party” to follow his example in their states.

But any tension over who deserves credit for engineering that success is unlikely to matter until after November 8, said Tim Williams, a former Florida GOP campaign strategist.

“As far as the midterms go, that’s a train that’s approaching so quickly that this Trump-DeSantis feud isn’t going to get in the way of it,” Williams said.
