Gina Kirschenheiter offered an update on boyfriend Travis Mullen‘s ongoing custody battle with ex-wife Meghan Mullen after moving back in with her partner earlier this year.

Just as Travis, 40, and Meghan were ordered to undergo psychological evaluations, the 41-year-old Real Housewives of Orange County star revealed that her boyfriend hadn’t seen his children, including Presley, born in 2011, Bennett, born in 2014, and Joseph, born in 2016, for weeks, which was upsetting not just for Travis, but also for Gina and her kids.

“The kids were crying regularly. They miss their siblings. We’re really, truly a family. And then it’s like, somebody just decides that you’re not anymore, for an indefinite amount of time, until you have to go to the system,” Gina revealed during a September 4 interview with Us Weekly, via YouTube. “It’s horrible and it’s unnecessary.”

“I know that my kids are sad … I know that my stepdaughter is very affected and sad,” she continued.

According to Gina, Travis’ children returned to their home recently. However, before what was supposed to be a family vacation with their blended family of six kids, Meghan decided her three weren’t allowed to go.

“I haven’t seen them in a couple weeks. It’s awful,” she shared. “It does affect us so greatly and it is hurting the kids and I’m just at this place where I’m like, ‘It’s not fair,’ and I don’t feel like it’s completely wild or out of bounds to sit here and say, ‘What’s happening to me and my family is unfair.’”

“It will never make sense to me, but we operate around it as best we can,” she added.

Although Gina would love to co-parent with Travis and Meghan, she doesn’t see that in their future.

“I’ve been given zero indication that that’s what his ex wants, so if she doesn’t want that, there’s nothing that we can do,” she explained. “I am always going to do what is in the best interest of the children, so I will never be the problem … There’s more things that are happening now that hopefully will result in [Travis’ time away from his kids] happening less. But ultimately, I don’t really know.”

One of those things is impending psychological evaluations.

As noted in court documents filed on August 28 and obtained by Us Weekly on September 8, Travis and Meghan will be appointing a doctor in Newport Beach, California, to conduct a “full child custody evaluation” about their kids, which will “assist the court in making a determination regarding the custody and visitation arrangement that is in the best interest of the minor children.”

Travis and Meghan are expected to work with the doctor, who will have access to teachers, family members, and therapists, and “promptly complete all necessary paperwork, interviews, psychological testing and home visits as reasonably requested by the evaluator.”

They will split the cost of the work done. And once the doctor has come to a conclusion, he will write up a report and submit it to the court.

The Real Housewives of Orange County season 19 airs Thursdays at 8/7c on Bravo.

Gina Kirschenheiter opened up about the real reason Travis Mullen moved out of her home during an interview on Thursday.

Before she and Emily Simpson, 48, clapped back at Alexis Bellino, 47, for her claims of a bad edit, the 40-year-old Real Housewives of Orange County cast member spoke of Travis’ ex-wife Meghan Mullen‘s “scary” behavior as she expressed concern for her children and admitted to having doubts about her future with Travis.

“It’s not my story. This is Travis’ story. But what I can say is, there were things that were happening, and there was behavior displayed by his ex-wife that was happening in front of myself and my kids that to me was scary, and it was affecting my kids and myself,” Gina revealed during a September 26 interview with Entertainment Tonight. “I worked so hard on the co-parenting relationship I have with my ex-husband [Matthew Kirschenheiter] to make everything so nice and comfortable for my children, and to now have something else potentially negatively affect them, and it’s not even my circumstance, it’s just, I need to protect my kids.”

According to Gina, she was prompted to have Travis move out after beginning to feel fearful.

“I started to feel unsafe, and that’s what I can say, and if something makes me feel unsafe, I want to move away from that. And I just needed, the things that are coming from his side aren’t just coming his way, they’re coming my way too, and I don’t know how to battle something that’s illogical, and I just needed to take a step back,” she continued. “It’s hard because we still love each other. We’re still committed to our relationship. But it’s different. It’s a different relationship than what it was and it’s learning to settle into a new normal.”

After acknowledging that her and Travis’ relationship isn’t what it once was, Gina was asked if they will ever move back in.

“We’re very aware of the fact that we’ve made this decision and this has kind of set us on a different track, and honestly, we’re very realistic about the fact that we may not be able to come back together the way we previously thought, indefinitely, and even after the kids are done through school,” she explained. “I just don’t know how that would work. It’s kind of in purgatory a little bit. I don’t know. I wish I had all the answers … but it’s extremely complicated.”

Moving on to Alexis’ suggestion that she received a bad edit for season 18, and her claim that producers didn’t show the “truth,” Gina and Emily both shot down any such thing, stating that their co-star, who recently became engaged to John Janssen, 61, the former boyfriend of her co-star, Shannon Beador, 60, was simply making excuses for what went down on camera.

“I think that everybody that complains that they got a bad edit just doesn’t want to face the reality of what’s happening there. I’ve never once blamed the edit for anything, even when I was messy and bad. That was me. I was messy and bad,” Gina noted.

And Emily agreed, saying, “Not one time in the six years have I ever picked up the phone and complained about what they’ve shown. Because they can’t edit what you say and what you do.”

Speaking specifically of Alexis’ outburst against Emily, who was hashing out her fashion show drama with Heather Dubrow, 55, Gina said, “That was you. You were acting like that that day. We were all confused by it. It made no sense.”

‘RHOC’ Gina Kirschenheiter’s Boyfriend Travis Mullen Settles Restraining Order Case Against Ex-Wife Meghan After Years-Long Court Battle, Details Revealed

Gina Kirschenheiter’s boyfriend, Travis Mullen, has reached an agreement with his ex-wife, Meghan Mullen, following a years-long court battle.

Just under a year after Travis was granted a restraining order against Meghan, claiming she had harassed and threatened him, the Real Housewives of Orange County star has agreed to drop the order as Meghan complied with Travis’ request that she undergo random drug testing.

According to court documents obtained by In Touch Weekly on July 16, Travis’ restraining order was dismissed after he and Meghan agreed that “neither party will be under the influence of any non-prescription medications or illegal drugs while having physical custody of the minor children.”

It was also agreed that for the next full year, Meghan must submit to a drug test within six hours of a request by Travis, who agreed to cover the costs of said tests. And if she fails, “her physical custody with the minor children shall be immediately suspended and she shall reimburse [Travis] for the cost of said screening/testing.”

Although Travis can make a request for Meghan to be tested for drugs any time that she has their three children or immediately after she returns them to his care, he must not do so to “harass” his former spouse — and he must provide reasoning for the request.

As for their future communication, Travis and Meghan can speak only about their kids, and only through a court-approved app.

They were then ordered not to talk badly about one another or “allow any third party to make such comments.”

“Both parties shall encourage the children to spend time with the other party,” their agreement stated. “All contact between the parties shall be courteous, respectful and non-threatening and the parties shall conduct themselves in a mature and civil manner while in the presence of the minor children.”

When Travis filed for a restraining order against Meghan last summer, he accused her of harassment and “threats of harm if I do not comply with her demands.”

“I am fearful that, in its absence, she will continue to harm and harass me and our children because she has continually and is increasingly harassing and harming me, even with a criminal protective order in place,” he alleged.

Although Gina and Travis stopped living together amid his drama with Meghan, Shannon Beador recently confirmed on Watch What Happens Live that the two of them are “still together and they’re great.”
