  • Beloved Marvel’s Hero Return Set for Phase 7 Movie – Report

    [ad_1]

Marvel Phase 7 may already be quietly taking shape. A new report suggests a long-absent MCU hero could be gearing up to return in a major ensemble project tied to the long-rumored Midnight Sons movie.

Moon Knight to play a major role in rumored Midnight Sons movie

While never officially confirmed by Marvel Studios, the Midnight Sons movie has accumulated substantial rumors since whispers of its development began in 2022. The latest update comes from MyTimeToShineHello, who tweeted, “Moon Knight will have a main role in Midnight Sons.”

The claim has fueled renewed interest in the character’s MCU future, especially since Moon Knight Season 2 remains unconfirmed and there has been no indication of the character appearing in Avengers 5 or Avengers 6. As a result, Midnight Sons increasingly appears to be the most logical continuation of Moon Knight’s story.

Momentum around Midnight Sons intensified following a reported update on Mahershala Ali’s Blade reboot. Industry insider Jeff Sneider revealed on The Hot Mic podcast that the solo Blade film announced at San Diego Comic-Con in 2019 may no longer be moving forward.

During the discussion, Sneider said, “Blade is dead,” later clarifying that the information was “a rumor.” He then added, “I’m hearing Blade is dead and that it is a Midnight Sons movie. He will not be introduced in a solo movie. He’ll be introduced in Midnight Sons.” The MCU already teased Blade with a voice cameo in the post-credits scene of Eternals. An alternate version of the character later appeared in Marvel Zombies.

Moon Knight debuted in his solo Disney+ series in 2022, with Oscar Isaac in the lead role. The character has yet to appear elsewhere in the MCU. With no confirmed follow-up project, the rumored Midnight Sons movie appears to be the most viable platform for his return in Marvel’s Phase 7.

As of writing, Marvel Studios has not officially confirmed Midnight Sons.

  • Black Panther Teams With the Fantastic Four in Latest ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ Teaser

    [ad_1]

The Fantastic Four make their introductions with the leaders of Wakanda in the latest teaser trailer for Marvel StudiosAvengers: Doomsday.

Disney is set to release directors Anthony Russo and Joe Russo‘s feature theatrically on Dec. 18. The film will include a lengthy list of Marvel superheroes facing off against Doctor Doom, played by returning Marvel Cinematic Universe stalwart Robert Downey Jr.

The movie’s footage was released online Tuesday and features voiceover from Shuri (Letitia Wright), who took up the mantle of Black Panther in 2022’s Wakanda Forever following the death of brother T’Challa (Chadwick Boseman).

“I’ve lost everyone that matters to me,” Wright says in the new trailer. “A king has his duties to prepare our people for the afterlife. I have mine.”

The teaser also shows M’Baku (Winston Duke) introducing himself as the King of Wakanda, after Shuri opted not to challenge him for the throne in Wakanda Forever. That film also included the MCU debut of Namor (Tenoch Huerta), who appears in the trailer for Avengers: Doomsday.

“King M’Baku of Wakanda,” Duke tells Ben Grimm, aka The Thing (Ebon Moss-Bachrach). The Fantastic Four member responds, “Ben, Yancy Street between Broome and Grand.”

The rest of the MCU’s Fantastic Four — Mr. Fantastic (Pedro Pascal), the Invisible Woman (Vanessa Kirby) and the Human Torch (Joseph Quinn) — will also appear in Doomsday after debuting in last summer’s 1960s-set The Fantastic Four: First Steps.

This is the fourth teaser that Marvel has shared online for the forthcoming film. The previous clips focused on scenes with Captain America (Chris Evans), Thor (Chris Hemsworth) and the X-Men’s Cyclops (James Marsden).

Marvel Studios revealed an extensive list of castmembers from the film in March during a lengthy livestream. The centerpiece of the project is Downey, who previously starred as the MCU’s Iron Man before the character died in the most recent Avengers movie, 2019’s Avengers: Endgame.

Doomsday will be followed by sequel Avengers: Secret Wars a year later.

  • MCU Fans Worried Sebastian Stan’s Bucky Will Die After DC Casting

    [ad_1]

Some MCU fans are convinced that Sebastian Stan’s Bucky Barnes won’t be making it out of Avengers: Doomsday alive.

Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Doomsday is currently in post-production. Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, also known as the Russo Brothers, the movie will be released in United States theaters later this year. The sequel, Avengers: Secret Wars, is scheduled for 2027.

Why do MCU fans think Sebastian Stan’s Bucky will die in Avengers: Doomsday?

It has been confirmed that Stan will reprise his MCU role as Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier in Avengers: Doomsday, though whether or not he’s also part of the cast for Avengers: Secret Wars remains to be seen.

In light of the news that Stan is now in talks to play a character in Matt Reeves’ The Batman 2, also known as The Batman Part II, many Marvel fans are now convinced this means Bucky will die in Doomsday.

The logic behind this reasoning seems to be that Avengers: Secret Wars and The Batman 2 will be filming at the same time. While this very well may be true, it’s still entirely possible that Stan could appear in both films. Avengers: Doomsday, in comparison, began filming at the end of April 2024, and production lasted all the way to mid-September. The entire ensemble cast was not on set during that whole time, meaning Stan could theoretically do both projects.

For now, MCU fans will have to wait until December 18, 2026, to see who survives Doomsday and who doesn’t. Avengers: Secret Wars follows on December 17, 2027.

As for The Batman 2, that movie — which is part of Matt Reeves’ The Batman Epic Crime Saga — is scheduled to be released between Doomsday and Secret Wars on October 1, 2027. Robert Pattinson will reprise his role as Batman/Bruce Wayne, while Scarlett Johansson has also been cast in the film.

  • The First ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ Teaser May Really Be Four of ‘Em

    [ad_1]

It sounds like we’re going to get a look at Avengers: Doomsday in the near future—or rather, looks, plural.

Reports online have alleged Marvel Studios is looking to create separate previews for the upcoming superhero film that’ll play ahead of next week’s Avatar: Fire and Ash. Previous reports claimed there’d be a trailer, similar to The Odyssey playing before Jurassic World Rebirth, and it makes sense for Disney to do that with its 2026 Christmas film. But according to journalist Daniel Richtman, it’s a bit more than that: instead of a single preview, there’ll actually be four teasers that’ll reportedly drop once a week.

This has since been corroborated by the Hollywood Reporter, whose sources told the outlet each week will bring a new trailer: the first trailer on week one, second on week two, etc. Like THR, io9 reached out to Disney to confirm or corroborate this information, and at time of writing, the studio has yet to comment.

Why four, other than ensuring people go see Avatar? Well, Robert Downey Jr. is playing Doctor Doom, longtime nemesis of the Fantastic Four, so it may be a reference to that. It might also call to the four big teams in the film—not just the Fantastic Four, but Captain America’s Avengers team, the New Avengers, and the returning X-Men. Maybe the teasers each focus on a different team, with Doom being in each one?

We’ll have more on Avengers: Doomsday, including its preview(s), ahead of its release on December 18, 2026.

  • Disney is investing $1 billion in OpenAI and licensing its characters for Sora

    [ad_1]

(CNN) — Disney is taking a $1 billion equity stake in OpenAI, while also striking a deal that would allow its famous characters be used on Sora, the AI company’s video generation platform.

Disney’s investment in OpenAI is the first such major licensing agreement for Sora.

Under the agreement, users of OpenAI’s shortform video-generating social media network Sora will be allowed to make videos using more than 200 Disney animated characters. Those characters including Mickey and Minnie Mouse, Disney Princesses like Ariel, Belle, and Cinderella, characters from Frozen, Moana, and Toy Story. Animated characters from Marvel and Lucasfilm, including Black Panther and Star Wars characters like Yoda are included as well – although the agreement does not include any talent likenesses or voices.

Users of OpenAI’s popular chatbot ChatGPT will also be able to ask the bot to create images using the Disney characters.

“The rapid advancement of artificial intelligence marks an important moment for our industry, and through this collaboration with OpenAI we will thoughtfully and responsibly extend the reach of our storytelling through generative AI, while respecting and protecting creators and their works,” Disney CEO Robert A. Iger, CEO said as part of a statement.

OpenAI, which has come under scrutiny for copyright violations – and also for striking massive ‘circular’ deals leading to fears of an AI bubble – said the deal shows how the creative community and AI can get along.

“Disney is the global gold standard for storytelling, and we’re excited to partner to allow Sora and ChatGPT Images to expand the way people create and experience great content,” said Sam Altman, co-founder and CEO of OpenAI. “This agreement shows how AI companies and creative leaders can work together responsibly to promote innovation that benefits society, respect the importance of creativity, and help works reach vast new audiences.”

Shortly after the announcement, Iger and Altman both sat down with CNBC’s David Faber, during which the Disney boss stressed that the deal “does not, in any way, represent a threat to the creators.”

“In fact, the opposite, I think it honors them and respects them, in part because there’s a license fee associated with it,” Iger said, later adding that the goal is to “continue to honor, respect, value the creative community in general.”

Iger also stressed that the deal allows Disney to “be comfortable that OpenAI is putting guardrails essentially around how these are used,” adding that, “really, there’s nothing for us to be concerned about from a consumer perspective.” Altman, too, stressed the presence of guardrails, telling Faber that “it’s very important that we enable Disney to set and evolve those guardrails over time, but they will, of course, be in there.”

The deal is exclusive, per Iger, at least in part. The Disney CEO hinted that “there is exclusivity, basically, at the beginning of the three-year agreement,” but remained mum on what that means. Asked if OpenAI is pursuing similar deals with other companies, Altman said, “I won’t rule out anything in the future, but we think this alone is going to be a wonderful start.”

Disney has previously sued AI companies for using their intellectual property. On Monday, the company sent Google a cease and desist letter, according to a source familiar with the situation.

The cease and desist letter claims the company’s AI products, including its image and video generating products Veo and Nano Banana, are infringing Disney’s copyrights “on a massive scale,” by allowing users to create images and videos depicting their characters. The letter alleges that Google has “refused to implement any technological measures to mitigate or prevent copyright infringement.”

In response, a Google spokesperson said they have “a longstanding and mutually beneficial relationship with Disney, and will continue to engage with them.”

More generally, we use public data from the open web to build our AI and have built additional innovative copyright controls like Google-extended and Content ID for YouTube, which give sites and copyright holders control over their content.”

Disney had already sent similar cease and desist letters to Meta and Character.AI. In June, Disney and Universal sued AI photo generation company Midjourney, alleging the company violated copyright law.

  • Deadpool Will Be Back for More Merry Mayhem at Disneyland

    [ad_1]

The Merc With a Mouth will return to Avengers Campus this fall to kick off the holidays at the Disneyland Resort, spreading holiday cheer and sassy jokes among the Deadpool faithful.

This year, the merry Marvel Studios feature at Disney California Adventure Park will be reimagined as The Story Time with Deadpool Holiday Special. With that nostalgic broadcast show twist, we’re expecting special guests will surely pop in and out of the multiverse to get in the hot seat for jolly ol’ DP. We’re thinking definitely Wolverine, as he was a fun co-star in the park’s initial run of the live entertainment show during the promo period for Deadpool & Wolverine.

Avengers Campus has had its fair share of fun festive shows, including a Hawkeye holiday action stunt-heavy performance and that short run of Rogers: The Musical. Hey, we’d be happy if that came back; the Hyperion theater is just sitting there!

    © Disney Experiences

There will be no shortage of Christmastime chaos from Deadpool, as Disney foodie fans will be delighted to hear about the chimichangas. That’s right, Pool’s fave food is making a debut at Pym’s Test Kitchen in Avengers Campus. And it looks so delicious. The Marvel-themed chimichanga is set to include seasoned beef, charred poblano, refried beans, and shredded cheese on a pool of Guajillo sauce with a pico de gallo side salad. All of that needs to get in our belly posthaste.

    Mickey's Christmas Carol
    © Disney Experiences

While it’s particularly exciting to see more of the MCU dig into the spirit of the season with characters and themed food, it’s so awesome to see the unique ways this year’s offerings are gearing up to be a blast at the Disneyland Resort. Even with the Disney icons, we’re interested in side-questing for the Mickey’s Christmas Carol Feast dining experience, where you can meet the version of Mickey and friends, including Goofy in Jacob Marley ghost form. You can book that Storyteller’s Cafe at the Grand Californian hotel.

The holidays begin November 14 at the Disneyland Resort.

  • James Gunn Says His DCU Won’t Repeat Darkseid Any Time Soon

    [ad_1]

In the aftermath of the Peacemaker finale, DC Studios head James Gunn has faced an intense line of questioning regarding John Cena’s very much not meta-human anti-hero, who became the guinea pig to test out ARGUS’ Salvation prison dimension. Fans want to know about Darkseid, whose parademons can be heard in the trees and seen only by Peacemaker as the credits roll.

In a conversation with Screen Crush, the filmmaker revealed that the different universe his version of Salvation exists in does not stick to the script that DC Comics fans might expect in regard to Darkseid, who was featured in the Snyderverse Justice League.

“I don’t expect that to be exactly what it is,” he said bluntly, explaining that he loved the idea of the “Salvation Run,” the 2007 Bill Willingham/Lilah Sturges limited series (that was, fun fact, inspired by a pitch from Game of Thrones scribe George R. R. Martin!). “I liked the idea of supervillains building a society in this other dimension. And I liked the way that it was a very practical way that Amanda Waller and Rick Flag Jr., in that instance, were trying to deal with the problem of meta-humans who continuously escaped from prison in a way that I think a fed-up government might. Those were the things that interested me.”

But where “Salvation Run” and the DCU differ is on the origins of the world: in the comics, the planet was revealed to be a training world used by the New Gods of Apokolips, overseen by Darkseid’s right-hand man, DeSaad. In the DCU, there’ll be no New Gods connection to DeSaad or his master.

“You gotta remember the first and foremost thing is that I’m building a world, okay? And in that world, an aspect of that world is now obviously ARGUS, who are in charge of meta-human activities, have taken upon themselves to start sending meta-human prisoners to Salvation,” Gunn continued. “That’s the plan, at least. And then we’ll have to see how that affects and touches everything else.”

So don’t expect Peacemaker to bump into Darkseid despite the parademons of it all. But not just to make something original inspired by the comics, but because Gunn thinks that Darkseid shouldn’t be touched yet after both the prior DC movieverse and Marvel’s own Ominous Cosmic Big Bad Guy in the form of Thanos. After his MCU run with the Guardians of the Galaxy, featuring Gamora’s connection as Thanos’ daughter and how that tied that larger universe together, Gunn plans to stay away from that sort of territory for now.

“There are aspects of Darkseid and Thanos, [who] are obviously very similar. They look very similar,” Gunn concluded. “Using Darkseid as the big bad right now is not necessarily the thing, for a lot of reasons: because Zack [Snyder] did it so cool in his way. And because [of] Thanos in Marvel.”

  • VisionQuest: What to Expect From WandaVision Spin-off Show Revealed in Trailer

    [ad_1]

The first trailer for VisionQuest was shown at New York Comic Con.

VisionQuest, sometimes referred to as Vision Quest, is the forthcoming Marvel Television series arriving on Disney+ next year. Serving as a spin-off to WandaVision, the show is created by Terry Matalas and will once again see Paul Bettany reprise his role as Vision.

What happens in the VisionQuest trailer?

While the VisionQuest trailer that was shown at New York Comic Con hasn’t been released online, Variety has a description of the footage, which offers some insight as to what MCU fans can expect from the new show.

“The trailer showed Bettany back as White Vision from the ending of WandaVision, plus a regular-looking human version,” the article reads. “There was also human versions of Ultron, who was voiced by James Spader in the second Avengers movie, and the AI programs Jarvis, Friday, and Edith. At the end of the trailer, there was a brief shot of an adult Tommy, Vision, and Wanda’s son that appeared as a child in WandaVision.

“Vision Quest was described as the third part of a trilogy that included WandaVision and Agatha All Along. In the trailer, Bettany walks up to a white mansion and is greeted by human servants who are really just recreated AI programs. They include Jarvis, who was Tony Stark’s AI program that later became Vision; Friday, who replaced Jarvis and was the AI assistant to Stark and Spider-Man; and Edith, the AI program in Stark’s sunglasses from Spider-Man: Far From Home.”

In addition to Bettany and Spader, the cast of Marvel Studios’ VisionQuest includes Todd Stashwick as Paladin, Ruaridh Mollica as Thomas Shepherd, T’Na Miller as Jocasta, Emily Hampshire as Edith, Orla Brady as Friday, Faran Tahir as Raza, and more.

Marvel’s VisionQuest will premiere on the Disney+ streaming service in 2026, though an exact premiere date has not yet been set.

  • The First ‘Wonder Man’ Trailer Brings a Whole New Feel to the MCU

    [ad_1]

We wonder if you remembered that Wonder Man was coming out? The new Marvel Studios show starring Yahya Abdul-Mateen II has been coming forever. He was cast all the way back in 2022, it had production difficulties due to the strikes, and it has seemingly been on the release schedule forever.

In recent months, we’ve seen teeny, tiny glimpses here and there, but with the show now, finally, coming out in January 27, Marvel chose New York Comic Con to fully pull the curtain back.

Wonder Man will debut on Disney+ in January 27, 2026, and here is the first full trailer:

That trailer certainly shows potential, especially with this idea of what Hollywood is like in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but we fear this show may suffer a similar fate to Ironheart. Both shows were developed in an era that Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige kind of looks back at with regret—when the studio was making show after show after show, introducing character after character after character, and not everything stuck. In fact, most of it didn’t.

We thought Ironheart was actually really good, but it was just timed very poorly. Wonder Man, with the exception of Ben Kingsley’s Trevor, seems to be introducing lots of new characters and could suffer the same fate. Do we really need more characters in the MCU? And yet, maybe that’s the saving grace here. Maybe Wonder Man and his stories are detached and unique enough from everything else that the show can just be viewed on its own. Time will tell.

How are you feeling about Wonder Man after this trailer? Do you share our concern that it just isn’t coming out at the right time? Is it too much? Or will the fact that we’re a few months removed from the most recent Marvel movie (The Fantastic Four: First Steps) and so far away from the next ones in 2026 (Spider-Man: Brand New Day in July and Avengers: Doomsday in December) make it feel like this will scratch that itch? Let us know.

  • Elizabeth Olsen Wants House of M in an X-Men & Avengers Movie

    [ad_1]

Marvel fans have been eagerly waiting to see Elizabeth Olsen reprise her role as Scarlet Witch, and the two-time Golden Globe award nominee has revealed her thoughts about her MCU return. In a recent discussion, Olsen revealed that she wants to do a movie based on the House of M storyline in Marvel Comics, which would feature the Avengers, as well as the X-Men.

Elizabeth Olsen thinks a House of M movie with Avengers and X-Men ‘would be fun’

During her recent appearance at the LA Comic Con, the 36-year-old actress opened up about the Marvel Comics arcs that she’d like her version of Scarlet Witch to feature in. Olsen specifically singled out the House of M storyline, noting that it would be fun for the Avengers to share the screen with the X-Men in a movie. (via Elizabeth Olsen Nation)

“I think House of M is just the coolest,” the Godzilla star stated before adding, “I just think it could be so fun to deal with X-Men and Avengers and ‘No more mutants.’ It would be fun.”

Written by Brian Michael Bendis and illustrated by Olivier Coipel, House of M is an eight-issue Marvel Comics series that premiered in 2005. The storyline revolves around Scarlet Witch, who creates a world where mutants comprise the majority of the population. However, after facing resistance from the Avengers and the X-Men, Wanda Maximoff decides to reset reality once again. She utters the now-infamous phrase, “No more mutants,” and recreates a world where most mutants end up losing their powers.

While a House of M movie with X-Men and the Avengers has yet to be greenlit by Marvel Studios, the MCU’s plan after 2027’s Secret Wars suggests that there is room for such a movie to happen. Kevin Feige has already confirmed the advent of the Mutant Saga after Phase Six, which would provide an ideal setting for a House of M film.

  • ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ Taps ‘Into the Spider-Verse’ Tombstone Star to Leap Into Live-Action

    [ad_1]

While production is currently paused for Spider-Man: Brand New Day, Sony Pictures is making sure to let us know that the show’s not stopping with even more casting announcements.

Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse villain Tombstone is making his way to Spider-Man: Brand New Day, as Deadline reports that Marvin Jones III (Black Lightning) will be reprising the animated role in live-action. Deadline further reports that Jones will purportedly return to voice Tombstone once more in the upcoming Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse, having skipped the middle entry in the trilogy, 2023’s Across the Spider-Verse.

One of many crime bosses in Spider-Man’s rogues gallery, Tombstone is usually depicted as an imposing Black person with albinism; he has sharp chompers and granite-like skin that’s hard to cut. The creation, by writer Gerry Conway and artist Alex Saviuk, first made his Marvel Comics debut in Web of Spider-Man #36 in March 1988, and has been a staple of Spidey’s criminal underworld ever since.

Given Tombstone’s recent appearance in the Spider-Verse films, there’s no doubt going to be a lot of speculation that Brand New Day could potentially give us the MCU’s own take on Miles. The recent casting of Liza Colón-Zayas (The Bear) and Trammel Tillman (Severance) also has left fans wondering if the Morales family in some way will be a presence, and of course, Miles’ uncle Aaron already appeared in Spider-Man Homecoming, played by Donald Glover.

Whether or not we see Miles or any other Spidey-sona in Brand New Day, Jones is joining a stacked cast of familiar faces that includes Jon Bernthal as the Punisher, Mark Ruffalo as the Hulk, and Michael Mando returning as Homecoming‘s version of Scorpion.

Despite its current production delay, Spider-Man: Brand New Day is still currently set to release July 31, 2026.

  • ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ Pauses Production After Tom Holland Injury

    [ad_1]

Tom Holland recently suffered a stunt-related injury, which left the fate of Spider-Man: Brand New Day temporarily hanging in the balance of a web’s thread. And now it’s official: the Destin Daniel Cretton-helmed film will be going on pause, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

The move comes as a way to give Holland seven days to recover from the injury while avoiding having to shoot without him. The trade described the injury as “a mild concussion,” and will be giving the franchise’s current Peter Parker a break from his Spider-Man commitments out of an abundance of caution. Holland was still able to attend a charity event on behalf of the Brother’s Trust, an organization the actor runs with his brothers.

While Spider-Man: Brand New Day shoot will be affected for a week, it’s not expected to impact the release of the film. As of now, the Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios feature is still on track to meet its release date. So we will be watching the continuation of a world where no one knows who Peter Parker is, let alone that he’s Spider-Man, come 2026.

Of course, even just under a year away, much of what Brand New Day is about is being kept under wraps. The film will bring back memory-wiped MJ (Zendaya) and Ned (Jacob Batalon) along with an extensive new ensemble of new and familiar Marvel Cinematic Universe players. Jon Bernthal will be featured as Frank Castle, aka the Punisher, alongside Avengers mainstay Mark Ruffalo as the Hulk. Better Call Saul actor Michael Mando will also reprise his role as the Scorpion from Spider-Man: Homecoming. Newcomers to the MCU include Stranger Things star Sadie Sink in a major undisclosed role, and Emmy-winning Severance star Trammell Tillman.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day is still slated to open in theaters on July 31, 2026.

  • Marvel Zombies Trailer Sees Undead Thanos Wreaking Absolute Havoc

    [ad_1]

A new Marvel Zombies trailer has been released.

Marvel Zombies is the forthcoming animated television miniseries created by Bryan Andrews and Zeb Wells. Set in an alternate timeline from the rest of the MCU that was introduced in the “What If…Zombies?!” episode that aired in 2021, the show arrives on Disney+ later this month.

Check out the new Marvel Zombies trailer below (watch more trailers and clips):

What happens in the new Marvel Zombies trailer?

The new Marvel Zombies trailer sees some of the most powerful Marvel Studios characters — including Thanos, Captain America, and many more — turn into undead, flesh-eating creatures. The fate of the world rests in the hands of a small group of survivors, one of whom is Spider-Man. At the end of the trailer, Spidey throws Thor’s Stormbreaker axe directly at undead Thanos; however, the weapon does nothing to stop the zombified villain.

The voice cast of Marvel Zombies includes Awkwafina as Katy, David Harbour as Alexei Shostakov/Red Guardian, Simu Liu as Shang-Chi, Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch, Randall Park as Jimmy Woo, Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova, Paul Rudd as Scott Lang/Ant-Man, Wyatt Russell as John Walker/U.S. Agent, Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie, Hailee Steinfeld as Kate Bishop, Iman Vellani as Kamala Khan/Ms. Marvel, Dominique Thorne as Riri Williams/Ironheart, Todd Williams as Eric Brooks/Blade Knight, and Hudson Thames as Peter Parker/Spider-Man, among others.

“After the Avengers are overtaken by a zombie plague, a desperate group of survivors discover the key to bringing an end to the super-powered undead, racing across a dystopian landscape and risking life and limb to save their world,” a description of the Marvel show’s plot reads.

Marvel Zombies is executive produced by Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, Brad Winderbaum, Dana Vasquez-Eberhardt, Andrews, and Wells, while Danielle Costa and Carrie Wassenaar serve as producers. All four episodes arrive on Disney+ on September 24, 2025.

  • How Marvel’s Huge Budget for ‘Eternals’ Actually Worked Against It

    [ad_1]

Chloé Zhao is currently promoting her follow-up to Marvel Studios’ Eternals, an adaptation of Maggie O’Farrell’s novel Hamnet. The 2020 book is based on William Shakespeare and his wife as they grieve the loss of one of their children, which would go on to inspire Hamlet. It makes sense that after making a movie where the Academy Award-winning director’s voice felt pulled in many directions, a more intimate movie would be her next choice

In an interview with Vanity Fair, Zhao talked about how her experience on Eternals informed her approach to Hamnet. The filmmaker also said working with a Disney budget on a Marvel property really pushed her range.

Eternals prepared me for Hamnet because it’s world-building. Before that, I had only done films that existed in the real world. I also learned what to do and not to do—what’s realistic and what isn’t,” she said of the mixed reception she got on her Marvel movie, which shone in the moments Zhao’s visionary storytelling was on full display in sweeping visuals and powerful moments between the family of Gods.

But having such a big studio production surrounding her wasn’t the freeing experience you might expect. “Eternals had, like, an unlimited amount of money and resources … Eternals didn’t have a lot of limitations, and that is actually quite dangerous,” Zhao reflected. In the smaller-scaled Hamnet, “suddenly everything has meaning.”

The lead-up to the film’s release, as superhero-fatigued fans were getting uncertain about the more esoteric characters within the MCU, made it abundantly clear as an audience that Marvel Studios was beginning to let the expectations of what worked before inform what was put into the film along with what Zhao hoped to make. In the wake of the divisive discourse of what comic book movie fans thought about Eternals, plans for the sequel and its ensemble’s presence in team-up films were quietly scrapped.

Thankfully for Hamnet, Zhao had Steven Spielberg and Sam Mendes on her side. “Their feedback was very filmmaker-driven because they’re both incredible filmmakers, so when they gave me notes, they were already infused with what they knew was my style,” she shared of staying true to her choices while the Marvel film tried to do it all. “Even when I did things that probably were confusing or didn’t make sense to people, they would say, ‘You know what? We trust her. Let her do her thing.’”

  • ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’s Tenoch Huerta Teases Filming ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ & Namor’s Return To The MCU

    [ad_1]

Tenoch Huerta is set to reprise his Black Panther: Wakanda Forever role of Namor in Marvel’s upcoming Avengers: Doomsday.

In a new interview, the actor teased what it was like filming the latest superhero team-up and how he found out he was returning to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).

“We were waiting on the green light [from Marvel] and my agents in the U.S. were not sure about the news [of my return],” Huerta said on TV Azteca‘s late-night show La Resolana Con El Capi on Sunday. “They practically told us around 12 at night, and at 5:30 in the morning, the [cast reveal] livestream started, and they told us, ‘Hey, the news is about to drop.’ It was surprising and it was cool.”

Of returning to the MCU, Huerta said that this time around “the dynamic has been different,” adding, “There are twentysomething characters involved in the story, which means we are each going to have smaller roles because there needs to be space for all the characters and all the universes. This makes it a much more simpler role, in terms of time and energy of making a film like this.”

Avengers: Doomsday is scheduled for release on December 18, 2026. Anthony Russo and Joe Russo are directing the film with a script written by Michael Waldron and Stephen McFeely.

Huerta will join other Marvel stars, including Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Anthony Mackie (Captain America), Vanessa Kirby (Susan Storm), Paul Rudd (Ant-Man), and Florence Pugh (Yelena).

The film also stars Lewis Pullman (Sentry), Danny Ramirez (Joaquín Torres / Falcon), Joseph Quinn (Johnny Storm), David Harbour (Red Guardian), Winston Duke (M’Baku), Hannah John-Kamen (Ghost), Tom Hiddleston (Loki), Patrick Stewart (Charles Xavier / Professor X), Ian McKellen (Magneto), Alan Cumming (Nightcrawler), Rebecca Romijn (Mystique), James Marsden (Cyclops), and Channing Tatum (Gambit).

  • Avengers: Doomsday’s Alan Cumming Has No Clue Who He Acted With in MCU Movie

    [ad_1]

Alan Cumming recently wrapped up filming on Avengers: Doomsday and revealed the unconventional way he filmed his role for the movie.

What did Alan Cumming say about Avengers: Doomsday?

Speaking to Gold Derby in a recent interview, Cumming revealed that he doesn’t really know what’s going on in the movie because he filmed his parts of Doomsday completely alone.

“I did the entire film in isolation. Lots of green screen, face replacement. They even gave characters fake names. I don’t know who I was acting with half the time,” Cumming said. “I broke the internet by mentioning something once, but honestly, I might have got it wrong.”

Due to the star-studded nature of the cast of Doomsday, it’s not too surprising that Cumming’s parts in the film were done away from certain actors. With so many stars having to record parts, it seems like Marvel Studios is opting to make things easier for those in the movie.

The confirmed cast for Avengers: Doomsday is massive. Several major stars from the MCU are confirmed to be in the movie, including Chris Hemsworth’s Thor, Pedro Pascal’s Reed Richards, Vanessa Kirby’s Invisible Woman/Sue Storm, Anthony Mackie’s Captain America, Sebastian Stan’s Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier, Letitia Wright’s Shuri/Black Panther, Paul Rudd’s Ant-Man, and Ryan Reynold’s Deadpool.

More names for the upcoming movie include Wyatt Russell’s U.S. Agent/John Walker, Tenoch Huerta’s Namor, Ebon Moss-Bachrach’s The Thing/Ben Grimm, Simu Liu’s Shang-Chi, Florence Pugh’s Yelena Belova, Kelsey Grammer’s Dr. Hank McCoy/Beast, Lewis Pullman’s Bob/Sentry, Danny Ramirez’s Joaquin Torres/Falcon, Joseph Quinn’s Johnny Storm/Human Torch, David Harbour’s Alexei Shostakov/Red Guardian, Winston Duke‘s M’Baku, Hannah John-Kamen‘s Ava Starr/Ghost, and Tom Hiddleston‘s Loki.

Several X-Men characters are also coming back for the upcoming movie, including Patrick Stewart‘s Charles Xavier, Ian McKellen‘s Magneto, Alan Cumming‘s Nightcrawler, Rebecca Romijn‘s Mystique, James Marsden‘s Cyclops, and Channing Tatum‘s Gambit.

Avengers: Doomsday is slated to release in theaters on December 18, 2026.

  • Robert Downey Jr Playing Victor Von Doom In Russo Brothers’ ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ & ‘Avengers: Secret Wars’ – Comic-Con

Robert Downey Jr Playing Victor Von Doom In Russo Brothers’ ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ & ‘Avengers: Secret Wars’ – Comic-Con

    [ad_1]

The one surprise at Marvel‘s Comic-Con Hall H presentation Saturday it saved for last: Robert Downey Jr is returning to the Marvel Universe as Victor Von Doom in the Russo Brothers’ Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars.

Along with the Russos returning to helm a two-part Avengers movies, they mentioned they’d need to tee up before Avengers: Secret Wars, a dream project of theirs, with another movie: Avengers: Doomsday. This clearly replaces Avengers: Kang Dynasty.

Essentially Kang Dynasty was deflated in the wake of the actor who played him, Jonathan Majors, getting fired from the MCU after being found guilty of reckless assault and harassment.

Since the start of the MCU with 2008’s Iron Man, Oscar winner Downey Jr. played that title character who finally died in Avengers: Endgame.

The Russo Brothers said tonight that they needed the right actor to move forward with another set of Avengers.

At that point an actor stepped onstage as Dr. Doom, with a steel mask and green cape and hood. Unmasking, it was none other than Downey, who many know as Tony Stark/Iron Man in the MCU.

  • This Is How Deadpool Works at Disneyland

This Is How Deadpool Works at Disneyland

    [ad_1]

Disneyland and Deadpool. Yes, you read that right! Wade Wilson has managed to make his way to the mouse house and Avengers Campus to play nice for the usually very naughty Marvel comics superhero. Starting today you can meet him at Disney California Adventure at the Disneyland Resort–with Wolverine along for the ride, to keep Deadpool on a tight leash.

Disney has shared more on their Deadpool and Wolverine offerings to celebrate this week’s release of the latest Marvel movie. The limited time interactions with Deadpool at Disneyland include “Story Time with Deadpool,” which will see a the merc with a mouth use said mouth to recount “family friendly tales” to “delight, charm, and inspire in the way only Deadpool can.” Which means, in all likeliness, not to expect Wade’s typically twisted tongue in the parks. Wolverine will also be participating in the show, as you can see below in a brief clip from a performance today:

Not gonna lie, that Splash Mountain gag as pretty good, at least! It’s a fun way to bring in Deadpool’s meta-humor. Beyond “Story Time,” Deadpool will also interact with the crowd throughout Avengers Campus, as well as crash various shows too, including  “Avengers Assemble!” and “Guardians of the Galaxy: Awesome Dance Off!” as he attempts to coax his way onto Marvel’s various teams.

Beyond Deadpool and Wolverine themselves, it wouldn’t be Disney without some food: namely, chimichangas! Here’s a look at the new food item added to Pym’s Test Kitchen. The beefy creation even has Wolverine’s claw marks of approval.

Deadpool and Wolverine will be appearing for a limited time at Avengers Campus at Disney California Adventure, so if you want to get up close and personal with Marvel’s latest movie heroes, you’ll need to head down to the parks soon.
