  • I’m A Celebrity viewers ‘feel sorry’ for Martin Kemp amid treatment in Doomsville

    [ad_1]

I’m A Celebrity viewers have admitted feeling sorry for Martin Kemp amid his time in the Doomsville camp.

A new Rivals format was recently introduced on the show. All of the campmates have been split into two rival camps, Win City and Doomsville. The campmates have been put into pairings, one in Win City and one in Doomsville, and have faced trials and challenges against each other.

For the first set of trials and challenges earlier this week, the pairings, which were chosen by the public, battled it out for a space in Win City.

The winning celebrity of the pair returned to the main camp, renamed Win City. Meanwhile, the losing celeb had to move to Doomsville.

Win City is rather luxurious for I’m A Celeb standards. But Doomsville is dreary and grey.

I’m A Celebrity viewers fume over treatment of Martin Kemp

To stick with the less luxurious theme, Doomsville has a rock hard bunk bed and the rest of the beds are groundsheets on the floor.

At the start of Thursday night’s episode, the campmates began waking up in Doomsville.

Spandau Ballet star Martin, 64, was spotted doing up his shoes whilst on one of the groundsheets.

When asked by Tom Read Wilson if he slept well, Martin said: “I’m a bit sore. My hips, yeah.”

Speaking in the Bush Telegraph, Martin admitted: “Sleeping on the floor just hurts you physically. It’s not the nicest thing in the world because your hips are out of place and your knees hurt.

“I’m going to be trying my hardest to get out of this place.”

Meanwhile, Kelly Brook and Shona McGarty slept on the bunk bed.

    ‘Feel so bad for him’

Many viewers fumed over seeing Martin sleeping on the ground. Some people admitted they felt sorry for him.

One person said on X: “Martin having to sleep on the forest floor, feel so bad for him he should have one of the bunks.”

Eh why is Martin Kemp sleeping on the floor???!!!

Another wrote: “Why is poor Martin on the floor? He should have been on a bunk at least.”

Someone else fumed: “Eh why is Martin Kemp sleeping on the floor???!!! I beg your finest pardon.”

A fourth added: “I feel sorry for Martin having to sleep on the floor.”

Another said: “Why have they let Martin sleep on the floor when it’s obviously going to be painful for him at his age?”

What’s the difference between the Win City and Doomsville camps?

The main camp had been transformed, with a new purple telephone box, purple beds, new purple bedding, camp clothes, towels and a comfy log seat.

Over in Doomsville though, the campmates were met with rock hard bunk beds, groundsheets and grey decorations.

This week, the campmates from both camps have taken part in trials and challenges as they went against each other to win meals.

Let’s hope that poor Martin gets a comfier bed soon!

  • I’m A Celebrity star Martin Kemp backed for King of the Jungle by ex-campmate

    [ad_1]

I’m A Celebrity star Martin Kemp has been given a huge boost ahead of tonight’s launch show by one former campmate.

James Haskell took part in the show back in 2019. He was the fourth contestant to be eliminated.

Now, speaking exclusively to Entertainment Daily, he has backed Spandau Ballet star Martin Kemp for King of the Jungle…

Speaking on behalf of Heart Bingo, James told us he thinks this year’s show will be “interesting”. And he backed “quite game” Martin to win.

“I think it will be interesting. Someone like Martin, I think, he seems quite game, seems quite fun. Lisa Riley looks like someone that will be able to get into it,” he added. James then said: “The thing is, you can never tell too early on who’s gonna really be the shining light.”

However, it sounds like if he was a betting man, then his money’s on the ex-EastEnders star. “I think Martin, if you were looking at it initially, could be someone who’s like a safe pair of hands around the camp really.”

    ‘The dunny was rank’

James, who said he would consider the All Stars spin-off of the show, also shared his least favourite part of jungle life – the dunny!

“Going to the toilet – the dunny was pretty rank. I mean that’s never that nice, and having to empty it, it’s not nice either,” he said. The creepy crawlies also freaked him out: “I woke up with a leech one morning on the side of my arm, which is a bit odd. It crawled on me in the night.”

Despite that, he would go back and do it all over again on All Stars. “Listen, if they want me, I would. I would obviously have to think of my family first, and how long I would be away for, and how that looks. But if we were asked to do it, I definitely would! I think I had a lot of fun. I’d probably do it a bit more differently, I would be a bit more relaxed now, but I would definitely do it.”

‘Chloe would be great’ on I’m A Celebrity, says James

After his ex-father-in-law Richard Madeley had a very short-lived stay in I’m A Celebrity back in 2021, ED! asked James if mother-in-law Judy Finnigan or ex-wife Chloe Madeley could head to the jungle at some point…

“I think Chloe would be great at it. I don’t know whether she’ll be able to be away from home for that long – I think she’d find it really hard, so that would be something to think about, but I think she would do really well. Judy, no, I don’t think she would want to do it,” he said.

James concluded: “A lot of people from my series struggled being away from their families. But for me I was used to it because it was just like being on tour. I was good at compartmentalising where lots of others were sort of, you know, just having meltdowns in the rain.”

    I’m A Celebrity 2025 starts tonight (November 16) on ITV1 at 9pm.

There was no way I was going to take it lying down.

“Whilst Dad was around in the 1980s for the original PAC-MAN, I definitely brought my A game. I’m happy with my score,” Roman said.

While his dad Martin added: “I loved playing PAC-MAN in the 80s, that’s nearly 40 years of this game in my life. There was no way I was going to take it lying down. Even if he has had video games his whole life. He put up a good fight. But we can’t have these young ‘uns beating us in the game of our generation.”
