    About Chase Offers

Chase Offers are available on Chase credit cards and debit cards. With these offers, you usually get cashback when you use your eligible Chase card to shop at a participating store. You can see your offers in the Chase app or in your account online. Here are a few things worth noting about these offers:

    • You can add the same offer to multiple cards, and you will receive multiple credits. The MaxRewards app helps you add and manage these offers.
    • Chase Offers could be targeted to certain accounts, so not every offer will be available for everyone.
    • Credits will appear in your account in 7-14 business days.
    • Usually the same offers will also show up for US Bank, Bank of America, Wells Fargo, Regions Bank, Suntrust Bank, BBVA, BB&T, PNC, Columbia Bank and Beneficial Bank customers.

    Guru’s Wrap-up

    • Reservations must be made online at Marriott.com, via the Marriott Bonvoy® App or by calling 1-888-236-2427.

Offer only valid on room rate and room charges. Offer not valid for lodging stays that are paid for before the promotion start date or after the promotion end date. Offer is non-transferable. Limit of $60 in total statement credits per Card Member. You may not receive the statement credit if we receive inaccurate information or are otherwise unable to identify your purchase as qualifying for the offer. For example, you may not receive the statement credit if (a) the merchant uses a third-party to sell their products or services; or (b) the merchant uses a third-party to process or submit your transaction to us (e.g., using mobile or wireless card readers); or (c) you choose to make a purchase using a third-party payment account or make a purchase using a mobile or digital wallet. Purchases may fall outside of the offer period in some cases due to a delay in merchants submitting transactions to us or if the purchase date differs from the date you made the transaction (for example, the purchase date for online orders may be the shipping date).

    Our Verdict

Nice savings. I believe business cards got the % version and personal cards got the $ version. Buying a gift card at the front desk should work to trigger the AmEx Offer credit as well (despite the terms), in my experience.

      • 20,000 points for couples (15,000 for premier time slot)
      • 10,000 points for singles (5,000 for premier time slot)

    The Fine Print

    • Annual income of $100,000 or more is required to be eligible for this offer. This offer is for residents of, and participating from, the United States, including the District of Columbia, but excluding Delaware and Maine
    • Persons who are also not eligible for this offer include: (i) those who have taken a virtual sales presentation within the last 6 months with the MVCI corporate direct sales office; (ii) those who have an MVCI contract pending or on hold; (iii) Owners who have delinquent maintenance fees or are in foreclosure; (iv) Owners who have purchased within the last 90 days; and (v) MVW associates.

    Our Verdict

$100,000 income requirement will mean a lot of people aren’t eligible. Not as good as when it was 50k points but that offer was quickly pulled. Presentation is 90 mins long so questionable if it’s worth it or not.

Times Square New Year’s Eve Bal gets a makover

Times Square New Year’s Eve Bal gets a makover

    00:33

Some New Year’s Eve revelers say you can’t put a price on the experience of watching the Times Square ball drop live and in-person on December 31.

But business owners in the tourist mecca have done just that — with prices of up to $12,500.

Hotels and restaurants near One Times Square, the site of the famed New Year’s Eve ball drop in Times Square, are offering exclusive New Year’s Eve party packages, with tickets costing between $450 and $12,500. The tickets typically include access to food, drinks and live entertainment, while some offer views of the Big Ball.

Although attending the world famous event is free for those watching from the sidewalks below, some people are ponying up for NYE party packages in Times Square that offer a little extra comfort.

Here are some spots in Times Square that are offering some of the more expensive ways to kick off 2024.

    Olive Garden: $450

At Olive Garden’s Time Square location, New Year’s Eve revelers can welcome 2024 at a slightly more modest price point than some of the other chain restaurants and hotels. Tickets cost $450 each, according to the event organizer’s website.

The ticket includes a complimentary buffet, open bar, live entertainment and a complimentary champagne toast at midnight.

However, a live view of the ball drop is not guaranteed, according to the event’s organizers.

    Applebee’s: $799+

Party people with more money to burn can ring in the new year at one of two Applebee’s locations in Times Square. Tickets start at $799, event organizer Ball Drop’s website shows

The restaurant chain’s New Year’s Eve package includes a buffet with entrees such as steak and salmon, hors d’oeuvres, a house DJ, party favors, a champagne toast and a “top shelf” open bar, which is open from 7 p.m. to midnight. The ticket also includes an escort to the street to catch a glimpse of the ball drop.

    Bubba Gump Shrimp Co.: $1,015

Bubba Gump is another restaurant chain offering ball drop views at jaw-dropping prices.

The restaurant’s all-inclusive ticket costs $1,015, the company’s website shows. The admission price covers live entertainment, party favors, a champagne toast and a full buffet, in addition to hors d’oeuvres.

    Knickerbocker: Up to $3,995

The Knickerbocker Hotel, a member of the The Leading Hotels of the World, is hosting a swanky rooftop party just 150 feet from the Times Square Ball. Tickets cost between $1,995 and $3,995, depending on the package, the hotel’s website shows

The Knickerbocker’s NYE Platinum Party package includes a cocktail party, dance floor with DJ and a banquet dinner with caviar, seafood and roasted meats. At the end of the night, attendees toast each other with glasses of Dom Pérignon champagne.

    Marriott Marquis: Up to $12,500

The Marriott Marquis hotel is offering New Year’s Eve experiences for between $1,350 and $12,500, depending on the package, according to Ball Drop.

The Prime VIP Couple’s Package, which costs $12,500 for two people, guarantees seating next to floor-to-ceiling windows looking out onto the Times Square Ball. Its other perks include a bottle of champagne, butler and coat check services, hors d’oeuvres and access to an open bar and dinner buffet.

As of Wednesday afternoon, the Prime VIP Couple’s Package had only one ticket remaining.

White House Holds Smaller Veterans Day Ceremony To Honor Soldiers Who Mostly Killed Kids

    [ad_1]

WASHINGTON—Providing a relatively subdued display of pomp and circumstance for a less revered group of service members, the White House held a smaller Veterans Day ceremony today to honor those U.S. soldiers who, while serving their nation in combat operations, mostly killed kids. “Though we are truly thankful for everything these veterans have done for our country, we do have to rein in our expressions of gratitude just a bit in cases where most of the confirmed kills were civilians under the age of 18,” said White House aide Stephanie Howard, adding that the discrete ceremony was attended by drone operators who killed kids in Afghanistan and Pakistan, soldiers who killed kids in free-fire zones in Vietnam, and a few surviving B-25 pilots who killed kids in World War II strafing missions. “We wanted to recognize these servicemen and women and their contributions to keeping America free, but decided it best to show our appreciation in a modest conference room we rented at a Marriott out in the Virginia suburbs. We just put up a couple wreaths, served some light snacks, and were out of there in 20 minutes.” According to reports, the much larger ceremony held at Arlington National Cemetery remained open to American presidents and Pentagon top brass who approved the attacks that mostly killed kids.

  • Bilt Rewards Adds Marriott As 1:1 Transfer Partner, 100 Points For Linking – Doctor Of Credit

Bilt Rewards Adds Marriott As 1:1 Transfer Partner, 100 Points For Linking – Doctor Of Credit

    [ad_1]

Bilt Rewards has announced Marriott as the latest travel partner. Members can transfer Bilt points to Marriott at a rate of 1:1. In addition for every 20,000 Bilt points you transfer in a single transfer you’ll receive 5,000 bonus Marriott points.  You can also earn 100 Bilt points by linking your Bilt & Marriott accounts in the Bilt app.

Given Bilt’s other transfer partners and the transfer rate I don’t think this is a particularly interesting transfer partner and represents poor value. It might get interesting if Bilt offers an insane transfer bonus.

    • Receive 15 nights towards elite status

    • No foreign transaction fees
    • Can only get the bonus once per lifetime

    Our Verdict

Previous bonus has been 125,000 points. Standard offer is 100k points. All time high was the 2021 offer for 125k + two free night certificates. Not sure if we will ever see that COVID-era type bonus return though. Obviously this offer is better if you’re staying at properties that cost 50k points or more (well really more than 41.6k), otherwise you are better off waiting for the 125k point offer to return. In any case I wouldn’t sign up unless you have need for these certificates in the short/medium term.

Hotel housekeeping jobs have fallen by 102,000 during the pandemic. What happened?

    [ad_1]

As some U.S. hotels hung on to practices they adopted during the early stages of the coronavirus pandemic — such as eliminating daily room cleanings — the number of hotel housekeepers fell by more than 102,000 last year from prepandemic levels, new data show.

The total number of hotel housekeeping jobs as of May 2022 was 364,990, a 22% decline from the total of 467,270 such positions during the same period in 2019, according to numbers released last week by the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

  • How companies like Dow, Marriott, and InBev could get to zero emissions

How companies like Dow, Marriott, and InBev could get to zero emissions

    [ad_1]

As large companies take on the thorny issue of doing their part to hit zero-carbon emission goals by 2050, they need to make clear to suppliers they have a role to play, too, and also need to communicate to consumers about their carbon footprint so that everyone is on board, business leaders said at a Fortune conference on Thursday.

Marriott International president Stephanie Linnartz, the hotel chain with 8,100 properties worldwide, said during a panel at Fortune‘s CEO Initiative summit in Palm Beach, Fla. that 60% of customers are willing to pay more for a vacation at a Marriott property if it was sustainable.

“We’re saying this loud and clear: consumers really care about this,” Linnartz said. Marriott, she added, began a few years ago to figure out how to measure the carbon and the water footprint of a hotel and publish it on the marriott.com web site.

At the same time, hitting goals means more collaboration with other entities. For Marriott, that means incorporating its franchise hotels into its calculations against 28 specific goals. For chemicals giant Dow, it means incorporating more suppliers. Dow CEO Jim Fitterling told the conference that 350 of its suppliers are incorporated in its carbon emissions calculations, on the way to 500 next year. It helps that 92% of Dow suppliers already have metrics, and 80% of them have emission goals for both 2030 and 2050—two calendar years with specific milestone targets.

In addition to improving data quality, that information is helping Dow optimize its operations. “We can look at our supply chain team, look at our customers that are buying, say, less than truckload orders from us and how to combine them and how to give them a route that has the lowest carbon footprint for their deliveries,” Fitterling said.

And the reliability and availability of data is coming along, he added. “We’re moving down the right path, but anytime you’re going into new space, it gets a little bit chaotic.”

For beer maker AB InBev, which makes beers like Corona, hitting goals means working with farmers to make its production more sustainable. AB InBev CEO Michel Doukeris said it’s even about ensuring the company’s long-term viability. “If there is no water, if there is no barley, or if there are problems due to climate-related on the harvest of barley, then we don’t have beer,” Doukeris said. He added: “We work with nature and not against nature.”

Marriott’s Linnartz concurred, saying hitting net-zero goals was an existential matter for many companies. “Without water and barley, there’s no beer. Without beaches and mountains, there are no hotels and travel and tourism, and we all have our businesses are inextricably linked to this,” she said.

  • Elite Member Perks Helps Timeshare Owners Profit from Unused Travel Points

Elite Member Perks Helps Timeshare Owners Profit from Unused Travel Points

    [ad_1]

The travel points membership service is helping timeshare owners generate revenue from their unused points with its 100%, money-back guaranteed programs.

    Press Release

    Aug 24, 2022

Elite Member Perks, a travel points management service, has begun helping timeshare owners discover new ways to profit from their unused points. The service, which specializes in helping clients get value out of their property ownership, is now helping timeshare owners with everything from mortgage management to maintenance fee payment plans, all without putting their lines of credit or financial situations at risk.

In the post-pandemic era, online booking is the preferred method of travel, and vacation rentals are higher than ever. Those who purchase timeshares in the hopes of saving money and increasing their return on investment are often frustrated when the points that correspond to their allotted vacation time go unused at the end of a yearly cycle.

With Elite Member Perks, clients can enter into a lasting relationship with an expert team that will manage their points for them so that they may enjoy their vacations to the fullest. The Elite Member Perks team works to convert unused timeshare points into money in the form of reimbursement checks. When resorts refuse to buy timeshares back and the resale market fails to provide any value, the Elite Member Perks team can leverage its network to help clients receive reimbursement paychecks every quarter.

After recognizing the need to assist timeshare owners who were unable to take advantage of their ownership, principal owner Kyle Brown and his team set out to help individuals who were losing out on compensation from their unused points.

“We like to use the phrase ‘have peace of mind without losing a dime,’ when engaging with new clients,” said Brown. “Many timeshare owners fail to realize just how much compensation they are losing due to this issue. We work to educate our clients while simultaneously putting plans into action to reduce their losses and increase their revenue, all without ever putting their lines of credit at risk.”

Elite Member Perks primarily operates in Florida and Missouri. With physical office locations in both states, both teams have experienced tremendous growth in recent months. Both offices manage outreach and client services, and the Missouri office also oversees all reservations, customer service, onboarding, and payment processes.

Having just removed all sign-up fees from its programs, Elite Member Perks is looking to work with hundreds of new timeshare owners in the coming months. To learn more about Elite Member Perks’ programs, please visit https://www.elitememberperks.com
