    New documents detail abuse Madeline Soto suffered before she was murdered

    CRIMINAL CHARGES, INCLUDING SOLICITING A MINOR. MORE DOCUMENTS DETAILING THE ABUSE AND MURDER OF 13 YEAR OLD MADELINE SOTO WERE RELEASED TODAY. THE NEARLY 900 PAGE DOCUMENT GOES OVER INTERVIEWS WITH SOTO’S MOTHER AND HER MOTHER’S BOYFRIEND, STEFAN STERN. HE’S THE MAN ACCUSED OF RAPING AND KILLING THE LITTLE GIRL. WESH 2’S LUANA MUNOZ IS HERE. LUANA. YOU SPENT MOST OF THE DAY GOING THROUGH THESE DOCUMENTS. A LOT OF INFORMATION IN THERE. YEAH, A LOT OF THAT INFORMATION. WE ALREADY KNEW SOME OF THESE DISTURBING FACTS ABOUT THIS CASE, BUT THIS PARTICULAR DOCUMENT PAINTS A SLIGHTLY GREATER PICTURE OF THE LEVEL OF ABUSE THAT MADELINE WAS SUBJECTED TO, WHERE STEFAN STERN WAS THE DAY THAT SHE DISAPPEARED, AND HOW MADELINE’S BODY HAD BEEN DISCOVERED. DURING THE INTERVIEW, DETECTIVES WERE ASKING STERN WHERE HE WENT THE DAY THAT MADELINE DISAPPEARED AND WHAT HE WAS TELLING THEM JUST WASN’T CONSISTENT WITH WHERE HIS CAR HAD BEEN SEEN ON SURVEILLANCE FOOTAGE. AND IT DIDN’T ADD UP WITH HIS GOOGLE DRIVE LOCATIONS ON HIS PHONE. DETECTIVES FOUND IMAGES OF MADELINE IN STERN’S PHONE OF HER BEING SEVERELY SEXUALLY ABUSED, SOMETIMES EVEN WHEN SHE WAS ASLEEP, AND IT WAS EVIDENT THAT THE ABUSE WAS HAPPENING IN HER OWN HOME. STERN’S HAD BEEN SAYING THAT HE DROPPED MADELINE OFF AT SCHOOL AT AROUND 830 THAT MORNING, BUT INVESTIGATORS HAD VIDEO SHOWING HIM DISCARDING A TIRE AND SEVERAL ITEMS THAT THEY LATER FOUND WERE MADELINE’S IN A TRASH COMPACTOR OF HIS APARTMENT. THAT WAS AT 730 THAT MORNING. DETECTIVES BELIEVE THAT MADELINE HAD ALREADY BEEN MURDERED. SHE WAS SEEN ON THOSE SURVEILLANCE VIDEOS WITH HER QUOTE, HEAD VISIBLE, TILT IT ON HER LEFT SHOULDER AND HER MOUTH WAS OPEN. SHE WAS BELTED INTO THE SEAT AT AROUND 940 THAT MORNING. STERN’S CAR WAS SEEN ON CAMERA GOING INTO THE PARKING GARAGE OF A BUSINESS ON SOUTH JOHN YOUNG PARKWAY. THE DOCUMENT SAYS, QUOTE. THE MALE THEN WALKED TO THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE OF THE VEHICLE, OPENED THE DOOR, THEN PROCEEDED TO CARRY WHAT APPEARED TO BE A LIMP FEMALE BODY TO THE TRUNK OF THAT VEHICLE. THE DOCUMENTS ALSO REVEALING HOW MADELINE’S BODY WAS FOUND BY DETECTIVES TUCKED BEHIND A LINE OF BAMBOO TREES OFF OF HICKORY TREE ROAD IN SAINT CLOUD.     More documents detailing the abuse and murder of 13-year-old Madeline Soto were released on Wednesday.The nearly 900-page document goes over the interviews with Soto’s mother and her mother’s boyfriend, Stephan Sterns, the man accused of raping and killing the little girl.Those documents go over many of the facts we already know about the case, but they paint a slightly greater picture of the level of abuse that Madeline was subjected to, where Stephan Stern was the day she disappeared, and how Madeline’s body was discovered.During the interview, detectives asked Sterns exactly where he went the day Madeline disappeared. What he told them was not consistent with where his car had been seen on surveillance footage and didn’t add up with his Google Drive locations on his phone.Stern had been saying that he dropped Madeline off at school around 8:30 a.m. the morning she went missing. But investigators had a video showing him discarding a tire and several items that they later found was Madeline’s in a trash compactor of his apartment at 7:30 in the morning.Detectives believe Madeline had already been murdered.In several videos, she was seen with “her head visible, tilted on her left shoulder, and her mouth open.     Near Hunter’s Creek Middle School, the community gathered for a candlelight vigil in honor of Madeline Soto, a missing teen who was found dead on Friday. Counselors continue to be available for any student or staff member dealing with the news.     Near Hunter’s Creek Middle School, the community gathered for a candlelight vigil in honor of Madeline Soto, a missing teen who was found dead on Friday.

    “I didn’t know Maddie personally, but it still hurts me because it could have been any of my friends, but she’s still one of my — I feel like she’s family,” student Sofia Torres said.

    Religious leaders held a vigil at Hunter’s Creek Middle School Friday night — the same school Soto was supposed to show up to on Monday but never made it.

    “The Bible teaches us that we have to cry with those who cry and love with those who love. So now, we will cry for those who cry. We will mourn for those who mourn. And we will be able to give a message of hope and knowing that God is in control through it all,” said Hector Gaby Melendez, the Unity & Fire Church International pastor.

    Parents, students, and community members showed up, laying flowers, candles, and balloons down in honor of Soto.

    “It’s heartbreaking and saddening to kind of see this happening. Your children are supposed to be protected, and in this case, she was exposed,” parent Kevin Rickson said.

    Many are still in disbelief that this happened.

    “It hit me very hard knowing this could happen to a child, a young girl in my neighborhood. I look at it as if it was my own daughter, you know what I mean,” parent Nina Castro said.

    But through faith and support, even with this tragedy, the community will still be able to rely on each other.

    Parents are definitely holding their children a little closer, but the people WESH 2 spoke to say now it’s about letting the death investigation continue and finding closure.

    The Orange County Public Schools superintendent released a statement on the teen’s death:
