2023 marks the 50th anniversary of Sotheby’s in Asia, where they were the first international company to hold auctions in Hong Kong and establish a permanent presence in the region. To commemorate the occasion, their anniversary year was overflowing with extraordinary events, exhibitions, and landmark auctions. The celebration culminated in the Autumn Sales in Hong Kong October 2nd through October 9th, offering live auctions and exhibitions of art, jewelry, wine, classic cars, and international real estate. 
Integrated within the celebration, Sotheby’s Concierge Auctions presented an exclusive auction showcasing some of the finest Sotheby’s International Realty offerings in the world. The Exceptional Global Properties live auction garnered competitive bidding with US$210 Million in total aggregate bids placed, yielding an impressive sales total including an over US$14 Million sale price for a waterfront estate in Austin, Texas.

Sotheby’s International Realty was a prominent presence at the event with an exclusive lounge featuring a curated collection of Sotheby’s International Realty offerings. In addition to property information, the lounge offered unique experiences including virtual reality home tours, expert advice from global real estate advisors, and wine tasting and jewelry masterclasses hosted by Sotheby’s auction house specialists. 

Lauded landscape designer Miranda Brooks—whose clientele has included such luminaries as Anna Wintour—has said that with each of her creations, she aims “to connect the architecture to the natural world” and “to create a strong sense of place.” Brooks certainly succeeded here—on these 47.85 acres in a prestigious area of New York’s Westchester County, some 50 miles outside Manhattan near the town of Bedford.
