Katie Piper reveals husband Richard’s shock relationship ultimatum

Loose Women star Katie Piper has revealed her husband Richard had one “condition” when they first got together. And she admitted that she accepted the ultimatum.

Katie Piper has been married to Richard for almost 10 years, after tying the knot in November 2015.

The pair have two daughters, Belle Elizabeth and Penelope Diane together. But it seems Richard wasn’t too happy with a habit that Katie had.

Speaking on the Loose Women: Just Between Us podcast, Katie revealed that one of Richard’s conditions when they started going out was that she gives up smoking.

Katie was discussing a listener’s dilemma alongside Loose Women co-star Denise Welch. A viewer emailed in asking for advice as she was concerned her daughter could start getting involved with smoking.

Katie admitted that she used to smoke, and that when she tried a vape, she realised just how addictive they could be.

She told Denise: “I have tried them. I went to this event, it was Silverstone. The racing. I think it was the Grand Prix. We were in a box that was sponsored by a vape brand, so they were giving them all out.

“I used to smoke years ago. So, I thought, well let me just try it. And I was smoking it at the event because you can go anywhere and do it wherever you want. But I woke up the next day and I was like ‘where is that vape? I want it’.”

Richard’s ultimatum was to give up smoking

But it seems that despite wanting her vape, Katie knew that her husband wouldn’t approve of it. So much so that she actually kept it a secret from him.

She admitted: “Richie hates it. Honestly. It was one of his conditions when he first started dating me. That I had to quit smoking. So, I actually quit.”

However, when she vaped at the event, Katie kept that from her husband. And when she began experiencing negative side effects, that’s when she stopped.

Katie told Denise: “So, I had to go downstairs to get the vape out of my clutch bag. And I had to vape in the downstairs loo in the house. And then after about a week of using it, I got a pain in the back of my neck.

“I couldn’t tell Richie, because he didn’t know about it. I don’t know if that neck pain was to do with the vape. But I will say if you are experiencing any kind of symptoms, go to your GP.”

Today’s Loose Women hit with technical hitch as blunder called out by viewers: “That was weird”

ITV daytime show Loose Women was hit with a “weird” blunder today, that left some viewers feeling a tad baffled.

Today’s panel featured Jane Moore anchoring, with Kelly Brook, Mariella Frostrup and Sunetra Sarker also booked to appear.

However, their initial appearance on the lunchtime talk show appeared to be hit with a bit of a blunder…

ITV show Loose Women gets off to disastrous start

Things started off strangely as the Loose Women theme tune started, then restarted, before the studio audience started to clap.

It’s usually then that the sliding doors open and the four ladies appear and take their seats at the desk. However, that didn’t happen today (September 30).

Instead, as the theme tune came to an end, the ladies still hadn’t appeared.

The cameras panned to the audience, who looked a little confused. Then the cameras panned to the desk, which was empty.

The sliding doors then finally began to open, to reveal Jane, Kelly, Mariella and Sunetra giggling as they waved to the audience.

‘WTF was that?’

None of the panel addressed their delayed entrance at the start to the show. But viewers were quick to take to the hashtag to point out the technical blunder.

“WTF was that?!” asked one viewer who tuned in at the top of the show. Another added: “That was weird.” “Why didn’t they explain what happened?” another asked.

The rest of the show continued without incident, with the closing credits rolling as normal.

Live TV blunders

It’s not the first live TV blunder that has happened in the past few days, though.

Over the weekend, the BBC came a cropper when La Voix’s pink pony refused to descend from the sky on the first live Strictly show of the season.

Host Claudia Winkleman was forced to fill until the hitch was addressed, with the pony remaining static on the floor during the routine.

Loose Women removed from ITV schedule in last-minute shake-up

Loose Women has been pulled from its regular Friday slot, following a last-minute shakeup from ITV. According to the broadcaster, the hit panel show, which typically airs at lunchtime, has been replaced by live coverage of the races at Newmarket. A one-off change, the races are expected to dominate ITV1 for three hours on Friday, after commencing at 1pm. Helming the coverage, Ed Chamberlin will take fans inside the BoyleSports-sponsored Rockfel Stakes, as well as supporting races, the Joel Stakes and the Princess Royal Stakes.

Part of a two-day event, Ed will also return on Saturday from 1.30pm-4pm to present further coverage of the Middle Park Stakes, the Cheveley Park Stakes and the Cambridgeshire Meeting, as well as racing at Haydock Park.

As for Loose Women, our favourite panellists are expected to return on Monday afternoon, with the next episode scheduled to air at 12:30pm. Prior to ITV’s shakeup, fans last tuned in on Thursday afternoon, with Nadia Sawalha, Kaye Adams, Oti Mabuse and Judi Love on hand to discuss this week’s headlines. I will do it as…Mark does have mental health issues, and I support him through that from a position of being so lucky that I don’t go through that. So when he’s very low, it can be very hard, but it’s not as hard as what he’s going through. So I will support him…I will…help him see pinholes of light when it’s very dark,” she continued.

Visibly tearful, Nadia added, “Sorry, I don’t know why I just got overwhelmed then. Sorry. I just have so much, you know I do, empathy for those who struggle with their mental health. It’s not just an easy swipe this or that. I am a rescuer, and when I met him, it took me a while to realise he had addiction problems. And him as well, he didn’t know. I’d already seen his heart and soul and his beautiful brain and all those things. If you say managing or rescuing, there was no choice because I was already there with who he was.”

As part of Thursday’s show, the panellists also invited Strictly star Ore Oduba to join them. In another heartfelt conversation, Ore revealed that he will be running the London Marathon to honour his late sister Lola’s legacy. Speaking about Lola, who identified as non-binary, Ore said: “‘It used to be the thing that scared me the most – to run the London Marathon in honour of my sister, they loved running, they struggled and then became obsessed with it.” Ore noted that the money raised will go to “Black people, queer people and women”.

Loose Women will return to ITV1 on Monday, 29 September at 12.30pm.

Ruth Langsford issues emotional admission over son Jack: ‘Suddenly he’s gone’

TV star Ruth Langsford made a heartbreaking admission on today’s Loose Women (September 8) as she shared how empty nest syndrome affected her when her son Jack left home.

The former This Morning presenter, who recently teased a potential comeback to the show, is in the midst of a messy divorce from Jack’s father, Eamonn Holmes.

The pair got married in 2010. However, last year, they announced they had split. Eamonn, 65, has since moved on with girlfriend Katie Alexander, 43.

During Monday’s episode of Loose Women, the panellists were describing their experiences after a heartbroken mother, faced with her children going to university for the first time, went TikTok-viral.

During the segment, Ruth Langsford admitted she “didn’t think” she would find her son leaving as emotional as it was.

“I thought, you know, I’ve got a busy life and da da da, and you know what it was, it was more, I was very excited for Jack going to uni,” she said.

“I always showed my excitement, so helping him get all his stuff and actually get this duvet… and inside going [mimics crying], but going, ‘Isn’t this exciting? Gosh, I wish I’d gone to university, blah, blah, blah’.”

‘You don’t know what they’re doing’

The 65-year-old continued: “It was the coming home, and the emptiness, and it was actually, it’s not that Jack spent loads of time with me, they don’t, you just come in and go… gone.”

“But it’s that you physically lay eyes on them every day, and suddenly they’re away, you don’t know what they’re doing, how they are.”

As the discussion continued, fellow panellist Coleen Nolan chimed in with some of her own thoughts.

“I’d spent years being somebody’s everything,” she explained.

“And now I felt no one needed me. And I felt even Mother Nature was going, ‘That’s enough now, dear. Off you pop.’”

“But genuinely, it really, really, and I think if I hadn’t have had, a, my kids to talk to about it, but also my family and friends, I really would have felt, I really think I would have got really, suffered really badly with depression because, I don’t know, I just felt so redundant to everyone,” she revealed.

This time last year, Eamonn attended a charity fundraising event in West Yorkshire and became a charitable patron. Katie had worked for the said charity as a therapist, according to reports.

Since Eamonn and Ruth’s split in May, it seems his and Katie’s relationship has turned romantic. They even enjoyed a cruise together last month.

Meanwhile, as reported by The Sun, Ruth has hired divorce lawyer Catherine Costley. Allegedly, Catherine seeks to end Ruth and Eamonn’s marriage with a financial settlement.

Pasha Kovalev admits heartache over death of Robin Windsor

Starring on Loose Women today (July 25), Strictly Come Dancing pro Pasha Kovalev reflected on the death of his friend and former co-star Robin Windsor, who died at age 44 in February.

The dancer explained that due to their friendship, he can’t help but harbour heartache over his passing.

It was here that Pasha admitted that he questions himself over a factor of Robin’s shock death.

Pasha explained that he met Robin on the touring ballroom dance production Burn the Floor and consequently traveled the world with him. In 2011, they reunited when Pasha joined the Strictly cast.

Chatting about Robin, Pasha gushed: “I think everyone loved Robin. Everyone who ever met him loved him. He was just a big sweetheart.”

He added: “We did a lot of dances together, a lot of projects together, shared the stage a million times.”

Despite their bond, it seems Pasha does hold some guilt over Robin’s death. He stated: “Unfortunately, the news of his passing came as a huge shock to me and to all of his friends. When you hear about something like that as a friend, you start thinking immediately: ‘Could I have done something more? Could I have been there just for extra time, seeing him, talking to him, sending an extra message?’.

“Because of that, my first instinct was to cherish the time I had with him. I would like to get old friends together, speak out him, remember how happy he was in his good days, and go over the things he loved.”

Pasha also discussed a tribute he and his Strictly co-stars are collaborating on to pay tribute to Robin.

The event is scheduled to take place on November 3 at Theatre Royal Drury Lane and all profits will go to the SANE Mental Health Charity. Strictly judge Anton Du Beke and Robin’s former dance partner Lisa Riley are set to host the event.

Detailing the tribute, Pasha said: “We’re remembering good things about Robin and the things he loved the most. Singing, dancing, musical theatre.

“It’s gonna be a sad show. But I think that’s one of the ways we can remind everyone [of Robin] and remember him ourselves.”

“And you’ll know that sometimes, as determined as you are to not let come into your present or your future, or make you different from everybody else, sometimes the annoying thing is you are different from other people and medical things happen and they can hold you back. Even if it is temporary.

“And that is what has happened to me recently unfortunately. I was so gutted to not be a part of the Breakfast Show.”

Katie went on to add: “Anyone who knows me will know I hate calling in sick for work or letting people down or not showing up. Unfortunately, that’s what happened.

I’ve had to admit defeat and say as much as I don’t want any of my past to determine my future, sometimes I have to accept that that is part of being a burn survivor.

The star also explained how she’d suffered issues with her retina, despite never experiencing such problems before. Katie has had problems with her cornea in the past.

She went on: “I had further complications and quite a bad infection.”

The TV favourite also stated: “I’ve had to admit defeat and say as much as I don’t want any of my past to determine my future, sometimes I have to accept that that is part of being a burn survivor, and it’s held me back and got me down for the past couple of weeks, but now I’m recovered and better.”

She also shared that she has returned to work this week and is feeling more like her “old self”.

Katie was left with severe scarring and health difficulties after being attacked with acid in 2008. Due to this, the TV star has undergone several procedures.

Olivia Attwood spotted out for first time since gruesome eye surgery

Star of Loose Women, Olivia Attwood, has been seen for the first time following her graphic eye surgery.

The former Love Island contestant had plans to attend the Loose Women Christmas party yesterday (December 21st) but was forced to withdraw due to her eye.

On Thursday, Olivia shared a snapshot of herself with a bandage covering her left eye on her Instagram Story. However, she has shown off the eye without it covered in a new update.

Olivia reveals she had a cyst on the inside of her eyelid

In a recent Instagram Story from today, Olivia explained in a video why she had to have emergency surgery while showing off her eye.

“So the patch is off and everything’s fine. Thank you for all your messages, I know I look very dramatic – essentially I had a little cyst on the inside of my eyelid,” she revealed.

To get rid of the cyst, Olivia said the doctor had to flip her “eyelid inside out and cut it off.”

On the plus side, the TV personality is fit and healthy and able to enjoy the festive holidays. As seen on The Daily Mail, Olivia was captured in public for the first time since her surgery.

While wrapped up warm in the cold weather, she appeared to be doing her last-minute Christmas shopping in Cheshire.

Olivia opens up about her breast implants

This isn’t the first time Olivia has had surgery on herself. While the operation on her eye wasn’t done for vanity reasons, she admitted on Loose Women in the summer that she had breast implants when she was just 20.

“I wanted big implants as that was the fashion,” Olivia admitted. “I was looking at the way other women looked, it was a fashion thing, the way like the Kardashians have influenced culture and fashion with the way they look. Now it’s changing.”

Olivia stated she believes it is “really scary to do things to yourself for fashion choices like I did.” As a result of getting her breasts done at a young age, she revealed she had to pay a heavy price. Olivia said she had to have her “boobs redone seven years later because they didn’t fit my body.”

She added: “I was in pain. It was a huge amount of money.”

Loose Women star Katie Piper on her 'relief' of having her eye 'stitched up'

Loose Women star Katie Piper returned to the panel on Wednesday (December 13) after being hospitalised for an eye operation.

Host Kaye Adams explained that Katie hadn’t been on the show for five or six weeks while she underwent an operation to have her left eye stitched shut as part of her ongoing treatment.

Katie, 40, said: “I had a planned procedure called a tarsorrhaphy, which is a semi-permanent closure of the eye. It’s an operation done in theatre and your eye is fully or partially stitched up. Some people might be familiar with it, you normally see it when somebody has some kind of disease of the cornea and closing the eye gives the optimum environment for it to heal.”

The panelist, who received an OBE in 2022, added: “I’ve had quite a lot of problems with my eye in the last year and a half. I don’t like to go on about it because there’s always somebody worse off…”

At which point Kaye pointed out how stoic Katie is. She said: “You never go on about anything.”

Katie continued: “It’s been quite painful so it’s quite a relief for me to finally have it stitched up, because it’s a lot more comfortable. And it’s not permanent. It’s probably going to be just about a year like this and then hopefully I can have it opened again.”

Gloria Hunniford then asked Katie how she’d coped with the procedure.

Katie said: “It was a bit like being pregnant because you feel a bit dizzy and nauseous. And it’s difficult when the other eye is trying to operate, it does tug a bit. But that does subside and then you get used to it.

“I had the operation a month ago now so I’m actually okay. I’m still wearing a six-inch high heel!”

Inspirational Katie finds the positives

Katie even joked that she’d found an unexpected bonus post-op. Discussion her make up routine, she said: “Just the one false lash, so that is cheaper as well.”

In fact, the star has been conscious of her eye health since the acid attack in 2008 which left her with major injuries and blind in one eye.

She told the Loose Women: “I’ve been taking all these supplements and the bonus is my hair’s really grown so I’m thrilled about that. I always try and respect my health which I suppose is more unusual for a younger person. Because we don’t think about something until it starts to deteriorate.

“I did experience both of my eyes being damaged at quite a young age so I always feel really grateful and happy that I’m here, seeing all these lovely people.”

Eileen Grimshaw actress Sue shared the picture of her wearing a leopard print swimsuit alongside Loose Women star and friend, Linda Robson.

The pair were both smiling for a photo whilst lying on sunbeds on a cruise ship deck.

The two television stars were also putting their thumbs up and wearing sunglasses.

Sue accompanied the photo with some text, writing: “On the deck… Just an average Weds…”

The pair have been enjoying time away at sea since the start of the week, having already stopped off at Valencia so far, dabbling in a bit of paella making.

Sue Cleaver’s ‘new job’ at sea revealed

Spending time away from the cobbles and soaking up some sun, Sue has now revealed her ‘new job’ to followers.

However, fans of Coronation Street needn’t fear as Sue’s post confirms that she’s joking about her new career venture.

Posting a reel onto her social media page, Sue could be seen wearing the captain’s hat, teasing: “Passengers, beware, there’s a new captain on the ship…”

She then captioned the post: “Found myself a new job…,” accompanying the video of her in the captain’s seat, saluting to the camera.

Sue seems to be loving experiencing life on the water with the trip making for quite the change of scenery in comparison to the cobbles.

Katie Price slams ‘disrespectful’ Loose Women as she addresses a return

Former glamour model Katie Price has aired her grievance with the ITV show Loose Women, and it’s brutal.

Katie appeared as a regular panellist on the ITV show between 2015 and 2018 but has not been seen there since.

Her ex-husband, Peter Andre and their son, Junior Andre, have both appeared on the show this year, and during Junior’s interview, Katie was not mentioned at all.

Now the star has spoken out about the daytime programme on her podcast, and she has a bone to pick with the ITV team.

Will Katie Price return to Loose Women?

On a recent episode of her podcast, The Katie Price Show, where she talks about her life and what’s going on with her sister Sophie, she answered a fan question about Loose Women.

The fan question was: “What did you think of your experience on Loose Women? Would you ever go back on?”

This hit a sore point for the podcaster.

Katie jabbed: “I’m going to throw it back – would they ever have me back on? Although they did [bleep] me off when Junior was on it, not even asking a question ‘how’s your mum?’ and all of that. Very disrespectful.”

Her family on the show

Junior appeared on Loose Women for a solo interview last month to talk about his new music. The panel asked if his father, Peter, was proud and how he is following in his footsteps. They completely snubbed Katie and her career as a singer, among other things.

Katie continued: “But would I be a presenter on it? To be honest, I’ve been there and done it so probably not, no. So I would turn that down.”

Shortly after Junior’s appearance, she took to social media to air her annoyance on it. On TikTok, she said: “Isn’t it weird? I was in Big Brother with Nadia [Sawalha]. I presented with all the other ones on Loose Women.”

She hit out that it was only mentions of “Pete” and nothing about her.

The show has a revolving door of regular presenters and occasionally brings on a special guest in the role, but from the sounds of it, fans shouldn’t hold their breath waiting for her return.
