  • TSITP‘s Lola Tung Subtly Responded to Rumors She’s Dating Noah Beck:  ‘Some Men Need More Time…’ 

    Lola Tung is one of the breakout stars in the hit Amazon series The Summer I Turned Pretty. She’s discussed what it’s like to be the subject of a very popular teen show that deals with a dramatic love triangle.

    After the Season 3 premiere, the Amazon show posted a community guidelines statement regarding the cast and crew of the show. ICYMI, the show deals with a love triangle between Belly (Tung) and brothers Conrad (Christopher Briney) and Jeremiah (Gavin Casalegno). Fans online have been fervent and passionate about the plot for the past two seasons, but the show wanted to clear things up. “Cousins is our safe place. Everything good, everything magical. Let’s keep the conversation kind this summer,” they posted. “We have ZERO tolerance for bullying and hate speech. If you engage in any of the following you will be banned: hate speech or bullying, targeting our cast and crew, harassing or doxxing members of the community.”

    Tung addressed the hardships of playing a character for whom so many people have opinions. “When people have an attachment to the characters, they want to see it come together at the end,” she told Teen Vogue. “I’m so grateful that they care so much, but people get a little scary about it. Please don’t threaten to kill someone if something doesn’t go your way — I promise you, it’s not that serious. Jenny [Han] is so smart and she cares so much about the story and making it the best story that it can be. It will be okay.”

    Does Lola Tung have a boyfriend?

    Lola Tung doesn’t share her personal life online, and for a good reason. In her Nylon It Girl profile, she revealed that her dating life was pretty mundane compared to her characters.

    “It’s hard out here,” she told the publication. “I’m not an apps girl. They’ve always scared me, even in my college days. My friends would be like, ‘Let’s play Tinder,’ and scroll through their Tinders. I’d be like, ‘OK, I’ll just look over your shoulder.’”

    “I’m of the mindset of ‘it’ll happen if it’s right,’ she affirms. “I’m hyper-independent, which is good and also sometimes not great. But some men need more time to grow, which is what we also learned from Summer. We’re so quick to try to rush things in life. One of my friends was like, ‘I can’t wait until we’re in our 30s and we’re… whatever.’ But I’m like, ‘Don’t rush it! We’re 22. We can take our time.’”

    The star was rumored to be dating TikTok star Noah Beck after they were spotted at a Gracie Abrams concert in August 2025, but nothing appeared to come out of it.

    She also was rumored to date her TSITP co-star Chris Briney, but he’s been in a long-term relationship with his college sweetheart, Isabel Machado. She shut down those rumors early on in the show. “Both Chris, who plays Conrad, and Gavin, who plays Jeremiah, are wonderful people and so easy to work with and so much fun to just be around,” she said on TODAY in 2022. “I feel very lucky that we had such a wonderful friendship, and it worked out.”

    In an interview with Teen Vogue, she talked about the hard boundaries and advice she received from Jenny Han.

    “It starts to get very overwhelming sometimes,” she told the site about the explosive fame. “There are so many people giving their opinions about you, and it can sort of mess with your head. My mind feels a lot clearer when I don’t have social media on my phone.”

    That decision led to her not wanting to post anything but work on her social media. “At the end of the day, I’m not posting my family. I post my friends, but not all the time because I want them to feel like they have privacy too,” she explained. “I want people to feel a connection to the show and me, but they also don’t know me personally, and I don’t think anyone owes their personal business to anyone else.”

    Despite not sharing anything about her personal life, she shared a little anecdote to Teen Vogue about running into an ex on the New York City streets.  “I ran into my middle school boyfriend on the bus the other day,” the actress said. “I was like, ‘Hey.’ He was like, ‘Hey.’ And he just started talking about how now he’s bouldering a lot.”

    The Summer I Turned Pretty is nearing its end, and Prime Video has dropped the trailer for the final three episodes of the show. In the previous scenes, the audience witnessed a high intensity of drama unfolding between Belly, Jeremiah, and Conrad.

    With Belly calling off her wedding with Jeremiah and Conrad confessing his feelings to his first love, the fans are wondering if Belly will end up with Conrad or not. 

    Amid the anticipation, the new trailer reveals that Belly has moved to Paris and is living her life with some new friends that she has made.

    What to expect from the final three episodes of The Summer I Turned Pretty?

    The new trailer of the fan-favorite show introduces the audience to new cast members, including Corinna Brown, Fernando Cattori, Isaline Prevost Radeff, and Jahz Armando. The preview opens with Belly reaching Paris after breaking off her marriage with Jeremiah.

    She talks to her mom on the phone, telling her about her life with her new group of pals, which has a few handsome men and her best friend, Taylor, who often visits her in the city. 

    While things seem well for Belly, she is hit with nostalgia after getting a letter from Conrad. As for the plot of the final three episodes, the official synopsis reads, “At its core, the international hit series is a coming-of-age story about first love, heartbreak, and the unforgettable magic of a perfect summer.”

    It further states, “Adapted from Jenny Han’s best-selling trilogy, ‘The Summer I Turned Pretty’ has evolved into a global phenomenon since its debut. Season 3 has drawn 25 million viewers globally through its first seven days and is the fifth most-watched returning season on Prime Video.”

    New episodes of The Summer I Turned Pretty are available to stream every Wednesday on Prime Video.

  • Lola Tung, Nico Parker to Star in Osgood Perkins’ ‘The Young People’

    Osgood Perkins is set to direct The Young People for Neon, with Lola Tung and Nico Parker starring.

    The film’s plot is being kept under wraps, with production set for this fall in Vancouver. Neon will release the film theatrically in the U.S. and start shopping the project to international buyers at the Toronto Film Festival.

    Tung has credits that include Season 3 of The Summer I Turned Pretty, and she just wrapped production on the upcoming horror feature Forbidden Fruits, directed by Meredith Alloway. Parker starred in Universal’s How To Train Your Dragon live-action remake, Maude Apatow’s directorial debut Poetic License, and the HBO series The Last Of Us.

    The Young People is the first film as part of a first-look deal between Neon and Perkins, who will direct the film based on a script he wrote. Neon is co-financing the project with Lyrical Media, with Perkins is producing along with Chris Ferguson and Brian Kavanaugh-Jones.

    As part of the first look deal, Perkins launched a new banner called Phobos, which he runs with Ferguson. Neon serves as the home for Perkins’ projects, which he and Ferguson will produce. It will also allow Perkins and Ferguson to produce other filmmakers’ movies for Neon, which will release the projects theatrically in the U.S. and represent international rights.

    Neon and Perkins first partnered together in 2024 on the indie Longlegs, which grossed $75 million in domestic box office. They also worked together on Monkey. Perkins and Neon are also behind the filmmaker’s next film, Keeper, ahead of a Nov. 14 release.

    Unfortunately, I Watched My Life With The Walter Boys

    Let me just start by saying that I actually hate romance, and I don’t discriminate. I hate romance film, books, and television shows: the tacky plot, the cringe writing, the insufferable characters. But, to be transparent, I watch every single teeny-bopper love triangle show on the market.

    I loved to hate The Summer I Turned Pretty, the adaptation of Jenny Han’s novel starring Lola Tung, Gavin Casalegno, and Christopher Briney in which Belly (Tung) falls in love with not one, but two brothers. It took over the world, having 30 year old women debating the question: Team Conrad or Team Jeremiah?

    The “stuck between two brothers” trope is ever-popular and goes hand-in-hand with the classic Love Triangle. Think The Vampire Diaries, where Elena can’t decide who’s really right for her: Stefan or Damon. Or Twilight’s ever-present battle of Team Edward vs. Team Jacob. So when I hear that Netflix has released their dupe of The Summer I Turned Pretty, I figured it would be the same, deliciously terrible media that we all love to consume…

    Except it’s inherently terrible. Originally a Wattpad novel by Ali Novak, My Life With The Walter Boysfollows recent orphan Jackie Howard (Nikki Rodriguez) as she’s forced to move from Manhattan to Silver Falls, Colorado to live with her mom’s best friend (and her plethora of 10 sons) on a ranch.

    Immediately, she’s torn between two boys: Cole, ex-football player who had a full ride to Alabama before he was injured (more on this later), and book nerd Alex, who is shy, soft-spoken, and making a play at Jackie’s heart. It has all the makings of the worst Hallmark film you’ve seen: overworked Manhattan socialite gets lost in small town with lumberjack that teaches her the meaning of Christmas. Except the men of the show are laughable at best.

    Starting with Cole (Noah LaLonde), who absolutely cannot let anyone enjoy a football game without having a tantrum that he can’t play. Seriously, the guy had a breakdown when he learned someone else was wearing his number. So obviously, the clear lack of therapy and emotional comprehension is already a red flag…and to make matters worse he’s still in high school, so he just doesn’t want to play football if you ask me.

    And then there’s Alex (Ashby Gentry). Hopeless, hopeless Alex. The Jeremiah of the brotherly duo. Poor Alex likes to read in his free time and is clearly the safer option for recently traumatized Jackie Howard. I have minimal problems with Alex in the same way I hate every character in this show, but his behavior offends me the least.

    The show begs the question: what would happen if you combine The Vampire Diaries, The Fosters, The Summer I Turned Pretty…and gave it no plot with bad writing? And don’t you dare blame it on the Wattpad of it all…how could you when it gave us cinematic masterpieces like After?!

    What is normally tolerable about these shows is that they are so simple, and the dialogue is so outrageous, that you physically can’t stop watching these characters ruin their lives. However, all I could think about while watching My Life With The Walter Boysis that every single character needs the heaviest of in-patient therapy.

    Nevertheless, like all incessant annoyances in my life, My Life With The Walter Boys has been renewed for second season. And I guess I’ll have to watch.
