    TV legend Art Moore retires after 53 remarkable years with WABC

    NEW YORK (WABC) — It was a bittersweet night for us at WABC, as we honored someone who has been at the station for decades.

    Employees gathered for a retirement party to celebrate Art Moore on Wednesday night.

    You probably know Art from his appearances on “Live with Kelly and Mark,’ but he’s been an integral part of our team behind the scenes serving as our Vice President of Programming.

    Art has been a part of the ABC family for 53 years. He joined us here at WABC in 1989.

    He began his career at WKBW-TV in Buffalo, New York when ABC was known as Capital Cities/ABC.

    He then worked as the director of programming at WPVI in Philadelphia for many years before joining WABC.

    As head of programming, he has played a role in countless series and specials that helped shape WABC’s identity and the station’s enduring relationship with viewers.

    Kelly and Mark will honor Art for the rest of this week — with a special celebration on Friday.

    You can watch ‘Live with Kelly and Mark’ every weekday at 9 a.m. on ABC 7.

    Jennifer Lopez revealed the role her and husband Ben Affleck’s height difference plays in their relationship.

    During her Friday appearance on “Live with Kelly and Mark”, Lopez shared why she has to “compensate” when it comes to the couple walking hand-in-hand.

    “Ben is 6’3 , 6’4, and I am tiny — I’m smaller. I’m like, 5’6. But we make it work,” she shared, noting that they are “very affectionate” and like to hold hands, despite their different heights.

    “He’s taller and his arm’s up, and I walk like a step behind, just to compensate, which I’m fine with,” she said, explaining why she’s usually photographed a step behind her hubby.

    Host Kelly Ripa then teased Lopez for the “good tip” that she and fellow host, husband Mark Consuelos, could “steal” because, they too, “are arm length incompatible,” Ripa revealed on the show back in March. At the time, the couple explained that it’s challenging for them to hold hands because Consuelos’ arms are 4 inches longer than his body while Ripa’s are 4 inches shorter.

    Earlier this week, Lopez gushed over Affleck being a “wonderful” father figure to her twins- Max and Emme, 15- whom she shares with ex-husband, Marc Anthony. As for Affleck, Lopez called him a “fantastic” father to his own children- Samuel, 11, Seraphina, 14, and Violet, 17- whom he shares with ex-wife, Jennifer Garner.

    Priyanka Chopra is sharing the beginning of her love story with Nick Jonas.

    The actress married the musician in late 2018 in two separate ceremonies after the Jonas Brothers first slid into her DMs in 2016, but it wasn’t until May 2018 that Chopra and Jonas began officially dating.

    According to Chopra, he apparently knew pretty early on that she was “the one”.

    While speaking on Live With Kelly and Mark, the hosts teased the actress about the fact they learned how serious it was early on in the relationship.

    “Did you guys know, when you were first together, he texted me and he said, ‘you have to meet her,’” recalled host Mark Consuelos. “‘You have to meet the one.’”

    Kelly Ripa emphasized agreeing, “He said you were the one!”

    While Chopra was a little embarrassed, she admitted she also knew.

    “He told his mom pretty early,” she shared.

    Fans might be wondering why Ripa and Consuelos were in-the-know about the relationship, but they were jokingly referred to as Jonas’ “New York Parents”.

    “He wanted to meet mom and dad,” Consuelos added excitedly.

    The “Baywatch” actress laughed, “You were his New York parents. You were like practice before my in-laws.”

    Apparently Jonas’ New York mom approved as shortly after the meeting, she took the singer by the hand, along with her daughter Lola and gushed, “She’s the one. This is your person.”

    Five years later, the two are happily married and parents to their daughter Malti Marie.
