What’s Tea With Dej & Durk?

Def Loaf had fans and social media users chattin’ after she posted a message and then deleted it. On Friday, October 25, the ‘Try Me’ rapper hopped on X (formerly Twitter) with a lil’ message. She wrote, “Free Mine,” and added the folded hands emoji. Folks quickly speculated Dej Loaf’s message was about Durk since news of his arrest dropped a day before her post on Thursday, October 24.

On Saturday, October 26, Dej Loaf showed up on the platform again after someone called her out for deleting the post. When the user tagged her and said, “We seen that post girl!!!!!!” Dej responded back with, “As you should’ve! I said what I said.”

Shortly after, Dej dropped another post on X, telling people to stop making assumptions about things they know nothing about. She wrote, “Folks don’t be knowing half of the business they be minding.”

Right now, Dej hasn’t confirmed if she was talking about Lil Durk.

    Social Media Reacts

The Roommates quickly hit up The Shade Room’s comment section to share their thoughts on Dej’s post. Many called her out for supposedly talking about her ex, while others reminisced on their rumored relationship.

Finally, Instagram user @gee2srt wrote,Dej should’ve kept this to herself😭 India bouta come crazy lol.”

More Details On Dej & Durk’s Relationship & His Recent Arrest

Fans think Dej might’ve been talking about Durk because they were previously rumored to be dating. However, in a 2016 Hot97 interview, Durk set the record straight, saying they were just “homies.”

As TSR reported earlier, U.S. Marshals arrested the ‘All My Life’ artist in Florida on Thursday, October 24. According to the Chicago Tribune, Durk is currently held in Broward County, and his arrest coincided with California prosecutors taking several other men into custody for a murder-for-hire plot against rapper, Quando Rondo.

Jail records reviewed by The Shade Room revealed that marshals arrested Durk on charges related to a murder-for-hire scheme. Court documents indicate that the attempt involved a shootout at a Los Angeles gas station in August 2022, which resulted in the death of Quando Rondo’s cousin, Saviay’a Robinson. Reports suggest that the murder plot aimed to avenge the death of Lil Durk’s mentee, King Von. Prosecutors initially charged Timothy “Lul Tim” Leeks, an associate of Quando with King Von’s murder. In August 2023, they dropped the felony murder charges, according to Complex.

Social media is buzzing over 21 Savage‘s Drake-less new album American Dream featuring Metro Boomin, Young Thug, Travis Scott, Doja Cat, Burna Boy, Lil Durk, Brent Faiyaz, Summer Walker, and Mariah The Scientist sprinkled across 15 trunk-rattling tracks.

In an intriguing rollout, Savage teased the star-studded collection of featured artists by sharing their baby pics on his Instagram in the days leading up to the drop.

Prior to that, the Grammy-winning rapper surprised fans with the trailer for American Dream: The 21 Savage Story which we’re still not sure is real or just elaborate promo like that now-infamous fake Vogue cover.

Directed by Donald Glover, Stephen Glover, Jamal Olori, and Fam Udeorji, the Tubi-esque short film depicts three generations of 21 Savage (played by Glover and Stranger Things star Caleb McLaughlin) in the heat of a personal crisis.

    Peep the preview below:

Joining Savage in the trailer are Donald Glover, Caleb McLaughlin, Golden Globe-nominated actress Natasha Lyonne, Bel-Air star Jabari Banks, The Haunting of Hill House’s Victoria Pedretti, Beef’s Young Mazino, Fast & Furious veteran Chad Lindberg, P-Valley star Gail Bean, and the always hilarious Druski.

Additionally, Savage dropped altered American flags throughout the city of Atlanta in collaboration with creative multihyphenate and visual artist Hebru Brantley.

Instead of the traditional 50-star layout, these flags were adorned with only 21 stars.

“In creating this piece, I aimed to encapsulate the history of 21 Savage while incorporating elements of my own personal connection to his music,” said Brantley. The flag itself is black with 6 stripes, symbolizing what it means to be Black in America — it’s better to be judged by 12 than carried by 6.

For those with a discerning eye, my signature linework can be seen within the stripes. In those blue and red bands, there are illustrations that are deeply personal to both Savage and myself – these elements speak to what 21 stands for through his music, his experiences and the adversities he has faced.”

Are you feeling the new album? If so, what’s your fave track? Tell us down below and peep the social media hysteria over American Dream on the flip.

Andre 3000 is back with his first solo album in nearly 17 years. And, in case you were expecting raps, ‘New Blue Sun’ comes with a warning label – “No Bars”. Instead, the eight-track project delivers 87 minutes of woodwind music as Andre 3000 plays the flute amongst other collaborators and instruments. When describing his latest project, Andre 3000 tells GQ Magazine,

“and depending on who they are, you get certain reactions. So I know that’s how the world will react, too. But it’s all positive. It’s kind of like: You may get someone that cries. You may get someone who immediately starts to do yoga. You may get someone that goes to sleep. Then you got the homie that is like, ‘Y’all gon’ put some beats on that shit?’ You get it all, man.”

  • Lil Durk Performs the Hits and Throwbacks on Amazon Music Live

Lil Durk Performs the Hits and Throwbacks on Amazon Music Live

    By Jordan Edwards

The big question when Lil Durk took the Amazon Music Live stage on Thursday was who might join him during the show. Would “All My Life” feature an appearance by J. Cole? Would 21 Savage walk out for “War Bout It?” While neither of those happened, a few big name guests elevated the evening.

After an intro from 2 Chainz, Durk started the set with the throwback “Dis Ain’t What U Want,” and transitioned into the more recent hit “AHHH HA.” Moving between eras, he performed tracks like “L’s Anthem,” “When We Shoot,” “Back in Blood,” and of course, his portion of “Laugh Now Cry Later.”

A welcome surprise was Trippie Redd, who received enthusiastic cheers from the crowd. He occupied the stage himself for “Taking A Walk” and the Diplo produced “Wish.” And of course, his outfit and hair were amazing.

Perhaps the highlight of the show was an appearance from Machine Gun Kelly. The pop punk revival king didn’t sing or address the crowd. He just played guitar on “The Voice” (watch below). Known for his brash persona, MGK seemed grateful to be onstage. His priority was nailing his guitar solo, not mugging for the cameras.

The show ended with “All My Life.” Without J. Cole, it became a sing-along with phone flashlights in the air. It was a nice moment, reflecting the positive vibes that dominated the concert.

Overall, the show was packed with both recent hits and fan favorites that reached back a decade into Lil Durk’s catalog. With few of his star collaborators available, he turned the performance into a journey through his diverse career.

The “Who Will Show Up?” game continues this week with superstar producer Metro Boomin. “Special guests” are slated to join him Thursday night after the Chiefs-Broncos matchup on Amazon Prime. We’ll see who walks out.
