Every body is different, and I personally have never wished upon a star for a bigger butt. But if there’s anyone who could change that, it would be Kim Kardashian. “With Skims’s new shapewear, you can get a butt, boobs, and amazing curves immediately,” she promises in the “Fairy Butt Mother” campaign, written and directed by Michelle Wolf and Ben Carey, respectively — the same duo behind the video teasing the viral Skims Nipple Push-Up Bra.

“Whoa, that actually looks real,” my boyfriend exclaimed while pointing at my newly enhanced butt cheeks.

Being the workout enthusiast that I am, I’ve executed many a squat in my day, and my butt and thighs are usually the reason I have to go up a size in jeans, then struggle with a waist gap. I never thought a fuller, rounder, more lifted booty would do me any good until I tried on the Skims Push-Up Butt Enhancing Padded Mid Thigh Bodysuit ($168) and Skims Butt Enhancing Padded Legging ($138). The leggings are currently sold out, but you can join the waitlist in the meantime. While the pieces didn’t exactly glide on like butter and definitely took some getting used to, they actually made me appear more sculpted — or at least like I have a shape similar to that of Kardashian’s famous derriere. “We love showing how looking and feeling your best should be as simple and easy as putting on Skims,” states Kardashian, Skims’s cofounder and chief creative officer, in the collection’s press release. And even though I didn’t initially feel like butt pads would make me feel my best, the gleefully surprised smile on my face suggests otherwise, doesn’t it?

Ahead, I break down the pros and cons of the The Ultimate Butt drop and offer my full review of the latest and bestselling Skims offering.

    About the Skims Butt-Enhancing Collection

    • Skims The Ultimate Butt drop includes nine styles across shapewear, bodysuits, and leggings crafted to “lift” and “round” your booty area.
    • Most products have mid-level compression and support with built-in butt pads that add as much as two inches of volume.
    • The Ultimate Butt Drop comes in sizes XXS-4X, and in Sand, Clay, Sienna, Jasper, Cocoa, and Onyx colorways; the leggings are offered in Onyx only.
    • The bodysuits have adjustable straps and an open gusset.
    • Products should be hand-washed with cold water and left out to dry; do not dry clean or iron.
    • Skims offers free shipping on orders over $75 and 30-day free returns for store credit if in original condition with tags and liners attached.

What I Like About the Skims Butt-Enhancing Collection

Let’s be honest, the most likable thing about the Skims butt-enhancing collection is that it works. The difference in my shape (pictured) is obvious. The fabric of the leggings and bodysuit is also just as comfortable, smooth, and “snatching” as any other Skims pieces I’ve tried. The brand’s signature blend of polyamide and elastane has a lifting and contouring feel that’s not at all impacted or lessened by the addition of butt pads.

What’s more, my enhanced shape was convincing to my partner. “Whoa, that actually looks real,” my boyfriend exclaimed while pointing at my newly enhanced butt cheeks as he emerged from the bedroom to watch me take these comparison shots. I also like that most of the pieces in The Ultimate Butt drop come in every signature neutral shade, as well as the full size range spanning XXS to 4X. After all, the universality of Skims is not something to be limited to any one collection.

The Skims Push-Up Butt Enhancing Padded Mid Thigh Bodysuit in Clay (back) and Skims Butt Enhancing Padded Legging in Onyx (inside out).

What to Consider Before Buying the Skims Butt-Enhancing Collection

The actual feel of the butt-enhancing products is worth noting. Because there are sewn-in pads at the rear that add a whole two inches of volume, sitting down or brushing your behind against any given object takes some getting used to. Your newly sculpted bum might appear to be yours, but it actually belongs to the fabric of your clothing. So, there’s that — alas, it is fake. If you like the leggings specifically, you should also note that they only come in Onyx for now and are sadly waitlist-only at time of posting.

The push-up bodysuit also isn’t the easiest to shimmy into. It took me at least two minutes to secure everything in place, adjusting the straps so that my bust was padded at the right level and each butt pad was also properly situated. In short, it makes for an awkward struggle, so make sure you allow ample time for getting dressed if you plan to wear it underneath your clothes. That being said, your outfit will have to be well-considered to ensure full coverage of the shapewear down to the raw cut leg opening, which could fall a bit too low if you’re trying to pull it off with a minidress. My advice is to also check out the Skims Butt Lifting Open Bust Bodysuit ($80) if you’re seeking a bit less coverage — while this one still has thin shoulder straps, it can be worn with any bra of your choosing. As for the legs, you may have to do some careful cutting to make the bodysuit or shorts work with micro hemlines.

Where Is the Skims Butt-Enhancing Collection Available to Shop?

The leggings I tried from the Skims butt-enhancing collection are currently unavailable to shop in-store and on the brand’s website, but select products are available to shop at Nordstrom and Harrods: the Skims Butt Pad Midthigh Shorts ($108) in Sienna, Onyx, and Clay, and the Skims Butt Enhancing Padded Shorts ($150) in Sienna, respectively.

I Need Victoria Beckham to Explain How She Got Through TSA In These Stilettos

    [ad_1]

It’s important to remember that we’re talking about *the* Posh Spice, though. We’re not meant to question her sometimes daring fashion choices, even at the airport, where practicality almost always wins out over style. Clearly she made it onto her flight and to NYC just fine. More than fine, really, because we all know that heels and a good outfit are paramount to the Beckham matriarch’s happiness. Sure, I probably wouldn’t follow her lead in this exact instance, but more power to anyone who wants to try.

Scroll down to see Beckham’s TSA-defying in-flight look in full. In the off chance that you’re also not ready to press copy and paste on her Balenciaga bottoms but still want to mimic the overall airport ensemble, I went ahead and added a few pairs of leggings that don’t have heels attached to them for you to shop ahead of your next trip.

  • These $34 Fleece-Lined Leggings Transformed My Winter Wardrobe

These $34 Fleece-Lined Leggings Transformed My Winter Wardrobe

    [ad_1]

Every editorial product is independently selected by our editors. If you buy something through our links, we may earn commission.

I’ve never had the pleasure of living somewhere warm, so I’ve subsequently mastered the art of staying cozy. My go-to for braving Midwest winters is the Aritzia Super Puff, which I almost always pair with my Bombas wool calf socks and trusty Timberland boots. While I previously thought I had the whole equation figured out, I recently got wind of a genius innovation I wish I had known about sooner: fleece-lined leggings. Intrigued, I did some research and scooped up the bestselling Baleaf Women’s Fleece-Lined Leggings ($34, originally $49) from Amazon to test their effectiveness against the brutal Minnesota cold. Ahead, I break down everything you need to know about them to help you decide if they’re a missing piece in your winter wardrobe.

What I Love About the Baleaf Fleece-Lined Leggings

What I love about these fleece-lined leggings is that they’re much warmer than my usual go-tos from Old Navy or Lululemon, yet they’re equally stretchy and soft. The fleece interior doesn’t make me sweat when I wear them inside (and I run warm!), but keeps my legs shielded from the piercing cold when the temperature is only in the teens.

Given the fact that these leggings are fleece-lined, I don’t think I’ll be reaching for these for indoor workouts. However, I can confirm their thick fabric has you covered during exercises like squats, so you don’t have to worry about them being see-through at the gym. And even with their added layer, they’re plenty flexible for easy movement, with what I’d describe as medium compression.

What’s even more remarkable is their sleek design. Despite the addition of the soft fleece interior layer, they look just like “normal” leggings. Plus, they have two deep pockets, one on each side, that are large enough to fit my iPhone 14 Pro. There’s also a zippered pocket on the back waistband for a key, license, or credit card.

What’s Worth Noting About the Baleaf Fleece-Lined Leggings

My sole grievance with the Baleaf Fleece-Lined Leggings is the slight roominess in the groin area. Although this hasn’t kept me from wearing them, I’d prefer a more snug fit in this area to prevent any sagging and make them look a bit more flattering. It’s worth noting that I’m not alone in this observation; several other customers have also pointed out this detail in their reviews.

Another caveat to consider before you buy them is that not everyone thinks they’re well-suited for the cold. While they work for me and are certainly a much warmer option than the rest of my leggings, one person, who rated them three stars, left the following review: “Ordered these for an upcoming trip to Iceland, they are super comfy & fit well however they are not that warm. Wore them today in 30-degree weather & I was still cold.” You might have to test them yourself to determine if they’ll be warm enough for you.

Who Are the Baleaf Fleece-Lined Leggings Best For?

The Baleaf Fleece-Lined Leggings are best for people who love wearing leggings year-round, but are in need of a more heavy-duty pair for when temperatures plummet. They’re cozy, yet sleek, proving you don’t have to compromise on style for warmth. Not to mention, they prioritize practicality with two types of pockets to store all your small, on-person essentials.

Where Are the Baleaf Fleece-Lined Leggings Available?

The Baleaf Fleece-Lined Leggings are available via Amazon or direct-to-consumer from the brand’s website, baleaf.com.

Additional Details About the Baleaf Fleece-Lined Leggings

    • The Baleaf Fleece-Lined Leggings come in sizes X-Small to 3X-Large.
    • They come in several colors to suit every style.
    • They’re made of 87 percent polyester and 13 percent spandex.
    • They come in a petite version and a classic version.

  • Emily Ratajkowski’s Pants-Adjacent Alo Leggings Deserve to Be an It item

Emily Ratajkowski’s Pants-Adjacent Alo Leggings Deserve to Be an It item

    [ad_1]

Emily Ratajkowski’s New York City street style is an endless supply of trend and It-item inspiration. Most of the outfits she wears for her walks around the city are quite casual and comfortable—but always cool. An observation I’ve made recently is that Ratajkowski has been trading sweatpants and traditional leggings for bootcut leggings. On two occasions last week, she paired Alo bootcut leggings with oversize outerwear.

So why do these Alo leggings deserve to be an It item? For starters, they’re affordable at just around $100. Additonally, at first glance, no one would realize that you’re wearing leggings—albiet flared ones. They come across as chic black pants. I actually own these exact leggings and can confirm that they’re quite thick and non-legging looking.

Bootcute jeans are a rising denim trend, and accordingly, I foresee the boutcut look trickling into other categories of pants. And since people love Alo, don’t be surprised if these bootcut leggings start to sell out. If you’re into them, I suggest shopping now just in case that happens. Keep scrolling to see and shop there.

We Already Know 5 Major Leggings Trends That Will Be Huge in 2024

    [ad_1]

Are they leggings? Are they pants? The lines continue to get blurred. We’re seeing this play out in terms of how leggings are styled, as well as the designs themselves. On the F/W 23 runway, Miu Miu endorsed wearing leggings in place of pants, styling them with crewneck sweaters, hoodies, and tailored outerwear. The looks have permeated the fashion space and continue to shape how we see the style set wear leggings for everyday looks far beyond the gym.

As I mentioned, leggings are also crossing into the pant sphere more and more. High Sport’s kick flare pants are one of the most viral pieces amongst fashion insiders in recent memory and have created huge demand for the soft legging-pants. Brands include Ferragamo and Theory showed leggings with tailored finishes in their S/S 24 runway collections. Capri-length leggings, too, are dominating and we’re seeing them worn in dressy ways, styled with leather tops in Phillip Lim’s S/S 24 collection and with heels on the street style scene. Ahead, more on the 5 leggings trends set to dominate in 2024.

The beauty of ballet flats is that you can wear them with a range of outfits because they’re quite versatile. Baggy jeans are a popular pairing, but so are trusty black leggings. The silhouette brings an elegant and extra-chic element to a legging outfit, whether it’s a more dressed-up or low-key ensemble.

I Do Pilates 4 Times a Week, and These Are the Only Legging Brands I'll Wear

    [ad_1]

When it comes to fitness, I’ve tried pretty much every kind of workout imaginable—from HIIT boot camp classes to hot yoga to strength training to ballet. But after much trial and error, I finally found the one workout that I’ve actually stuck with religiously: Pilates. I see the most significant changes in my body when I’m doing Pilates consistently, and I actually enjoy it. Who knew? I’ve been committed for a few years now and have even become somewhat of a Pilates snob. I’ll only take classes using the Megaformer and the Lagree method, as I just feel it’s the most efficient workout for your time. (If you’re in the L.A. area, check out The Studio MDR. It’s the best!)

Through my consistent Pilates classes, I’ve also become a bit of a legging snob. I need leggings that hold me in comfortably and stretch with me but don’t stretch out. Oh, and I’m partial to a super-high waist. I just feel it’s the most flattering and comfortable. I’ve narrowed it down to five legging brands that check all the boxes and I find myself coming back to over and over again. Below are the best legging brands for Pilates, IMO.

Taylor Swift Just Wore This Rugged Sneaker Trend With Leggings

    [ad_1]

It’s far more likely to see Taylor Swift in a miniskirt and thigh-high boots than in leggings and sneakers, so when she wears athleisure, it’s worth talking about. (Let’s face it—we all talk about everything she wears, but I digress.) While heading to another recording session in New York yesterday, Swift traded her usual dressy digs for a comfortable fleece pullover, black leggings, and a pair of rugged sneakers that the fashion crowd would approve of.

While retro and quiet luxury sneakers have been the go-to styles recently, another trend that the fashion crowd is embracing is hiking sneakers (think Salomon XT-6), which is what Swift wore. In her continued support of Beyoncé, she wore a pair of sneakers from Adidas x Ivy Park—the Ivytopia Savage Trail Sneakers. The bad news is that they’re no longer available, but the good news is that they’re on several resale sites, including StockX. And I found several similar pairs that Swift would likely approve of. If a Fashion Person Wears Leggings in 2024, It'll Be With These Elevated Basics

If anyone knows just how quickly the trend cycle churns, it’s us fashion editors. One minute, cargo pants are everywhere; the next it’s low-rise jeans, and these days, the fashion set and skinny jeans exist in a perpetual state of “Will they? Won’t they?” A classic pair of leggings, however, is an evergreen constant, and no matter what state the rest of the trend cycle is in, it’s the one thing a fashion person is always sure to have in her closet and in rotation.

It makes sense that the versatile style never loses its fan base. When you think about it, there are just so many ways to style leggings. Whether part of an athleisure getup for a coffee run and errands à la Kendall Jenner in ALO or elevated with a blazer and heels for the office or a night out (whoever said leggings weren’t pants was very wrong), the outfit potential is virtually endless. Any loyal Bella Hadid fan will tell you that the supermodel has been steering clear of the public eye for quite some time now, so spotting her in New York City outside of her sister Gigi’s NoHo apartment on Wednesday is kind of a big deal. No, actually, it’s a huge deal. And her impeccable—seriously, no notes—outfit for the occasion only emphasized the moment’s importance.

For the rare sighting, Hadid chose a very ’90s, model-off-duty type of ensemble, opting for a trench coat, black turtleneck, and stretchy, black flared leggings (or, as I like to refer to them, yoga pants). Accessorizing like a pro as always, she added a checker-print tote-style shoulder bag, F/W 99 Prada boots, and DMY by DMY wire-rim sunglasses. The look appeared effortless and therefore is bound to be copied all across TikTok. But honestly, it wasn’t her outfit as a whole that struck me when I first saw photos of it, but just her pants, which I couldn’t help but notice would be utterly perfect for flying

Sweeney, for one, opted to pair her black leggings for the flight with a designer It item: Prada’s cropped puffer. Fall & Winter Leggings Outfits: How to Wear Leggings All Season Long

    [ad_1]

This post may contain affiliate links, which means we may receive a commission if you purchase through our links. Please read our full disclosure here.

This post will show you five leggings outfit ideas, with tips on how to look cute and stay warm while wearing leggings in the fall and winter.

I’m not ashamed to admit it: I love leggings, and I wear them as pants all the time. There’s nothing quite as easy as throwing on a pair of basic black leggings and calling it a day!

In this post, you’ll find stylish leggings outfit ideas for the fall and winter, along with tips for staying warm while wearing leggings, plus the best kinds of shoes to wear with leggings.

Tips for Staying Warm When Wearing Leggings

In the fall and winter, leggings are a staple, but I think most of us have experienced regret at some point for wearing them out in the cold. Whether your leggings were too thin or a gust of cold wind whipped at your ankles (I’m looking at you, 7/8 leggings), leggings aren’t necessarily the best choice — but they can be if you follow these tips for staying warm:

    • Opt for thicker fabrics. Certain leggings, especially cotton ones, are too thin for chilly weather. Instead, choose leggings that are thicker, or better yet, lined with a warm lining like fleece that will help you retain heat.
    • Wear longer tops and/or jackets with your leggings. By opting for tops, sweaters, jackets, and coats that are longer in length (that cover your backside), you will stay warmer… and also avoid the hotly debated issue of whether leggings are considered pants or not.
    • Don’t leave your ankles exposed! Most leggings are ankle-length, and depending on your footwear, your ankles might be left exposed. And while that is perfectly fine during other seasons, in the fall and winter, it’s a recipe for feeling cold. To avoid this, go for shoes that rise above your ankles, like boots, or if you’re wearing sneakers, opt for high socks that will keep your ankles covered (and warm).

Luckily, leggings look great with almost any kind of footwear — emphasis on the “almost.” The very best footwear options for wearing with leggings are sneakers and boots of various heights (ankle, mid-calf, knee-high, and over-the-knee boots all work).

Since leggings have an athletic look to begin with, sneakers are always a prime choice. You can go full-on sporty with your outfit or go for a more relaxed athleisure look, depending on your vibe.

Boots are a must in the fall and winter and do a good job of balancing out slim-fitting leggings with their bulkier build. The choices are endless: combat boots, rain boots, Chelsea boots, you name it! They all look pair perfectly with leggings.

Unless you’re keeping it ultra-casual with some slip-on footbed sandals, I’d avoid wearing leggings and sandals, as these tend to look a bit mismatched. Sandals are better suited for summery items like shorts, skirts, and dresses. Flats are not an optimal choice for leggings either, as the proportions will look a bit off when worn together; instead, go for clogs and certain slippers (like platform Uggs).

    Leggings Outfits

Now, let’s get to the good part: the outfits! Check out these leggings outfit ideas for styling inspiration in the fall and winter.

Class to Night Out Leggings Outfit

So you have plans after your last class of the day, and you don’t have time to go back to your dorm (or college apartment) to change. *And* you want to be comfortable by wearing leggings. I’ve got you covered!

Your best bet is a pair of black flared leggings with a high-rise: these will look best with going-out tops rather than basic slim-fitting leggings. A small flare or bootcut will help to balance out the proportions of your outfit, plus they look cute worn with some black ankle booties with a short heel. This Chelsea-inspired pair has chunky lug soles with a short heel that is casual enough to wear during the daytime to class but also great for nighttime (or happy hour) wear.

The key to going from class to a night out during the fall is your outerwear. By wearing a class-appropriate jacket like an oversized plaid shacket over your going-out top — which can be a crop top, a corset top, a bralette, etc. — no one will be able to see what you’re wearing underneath! (So long as you keep it buttoned, of course). Then, once you get to your next destination, ditch the jacket and show off your cute top for the full effect. Layering is key for transitional outfits like this one.

You probably don’t want to bring your backpack to the party, bar, or wherever you’re headed, so opt for a tote bag instead. Be sure to accessorize with your favorite jewelry that will help your ensemble feel more dressed up; hoop earrings and a necklace can go a long way.

Faux Leather Leggings Going Out Outfit

Now if you’re headed on a night out and don’t have to worry about any classes right beforehand, you can go all out and rock a pair of faux leather leggings. These are the ultimate way to dress cool yet be comfortable, thanks to their leather-looking exterior.

Wear them with an eye-catching crop top like this silver rhinestone crop top which is giving major NYE vibes, especially when paired with some sparkly silver drop earrings. An oversized black blazer is the perfect way to ground the look and drape over your shoulders throughout the night.

As for footwear, you can wear over-the-knee boots, ankle booties, or heels. These black pointy-toe pumps with silver embellished ankle straps and bow details would be a stylish choice, along with a trendy silver knotted handbag.

    Athleisure Leggings Outfit

Of course, when it comes to athleisure and athletic outfits, leggings are the ultimate choice. For practical reasons, they are elite for workouts or athletic activities, but they’re also super comfy for just chilling in.

Either way, you can’t go wrong with some black athletic leggings (which are going to be thicker in fabric than cotton leggings) paired with running shoes and some crew socks.

A zippered fleece jacket (I love this one’s contrasting color scheme) is going to keep you warm in the fall and winter while also allowing you to move around comfortably.

By adding in cool accessories like some trendy sunglasses and a bright beanie hat for a pop of color, you will elevate this outfit and give it a “model-off-duty” look that makes it just as great for running errands or school as it is for going to a workout class.

    Fall Leggings Outfit

My favorite way to style leggings during the fall is with long, structured coats and boots. This combination is effortless but looks so chic.

Throw on some black leggings — this ponte pair is going to wear more like pants thanks to their heavier fabric — and a pair of chunky ankle or mid-calf boots. Rain boots and combat boots look great with this pairing, as well.

A longline coat is going to make the ensemble look put-together and fashion-forward — bonus points for one with a plaid print that looks autumnal. Wear it over a neutral-colored oversized sweater or shirt, and accessorize with a pair of gold hoop earrings. It’s an easy, comfy, and stylish combo.

    Winter Leggings Outfit

Winter time calls for your warmest clothing pieces, and while leggings may not instantly come to mind, a pair that is fleece-lined should do the trick. I highly suggest investing in a pair so that you’ll still be able to wear leggings even when it’s cold outside.

Bundle up in an oversized mock neck sweater (this one features an adorable fair isle pattern) and an ultra-warm puffer jacket. Not only is this neutral puffer stylish thanks to its flattering cinched waist detail, but it also boasts water-resistant and light-reflecting fabric. Plus, it’s long enough to cover your backside, making it legging-friendly, and it will keep you that much warmer.

Wear some warm socks over your leggings to retain heat, along with a pair of lace-up hiker boots or winter boots. I’m a fan of the faux shearling accents on these boots, which also feature durable lug soles. A matching knit beanie hat with a faux fur pom is going to add a cute touch while also being a must-have accessory during the chilly winter season.

Hailey Bieber Just Made Leggings Look Wildly Elegant Thanks to This Shoe Trend

    [ad_1]

When Hailey Bieber wears leggings (which is a bit rare these days), she usually goes for a pair from ALO for a Pilates class. She’s really more of a baggy-pants or miniskirt girl these days, so I was surprised to see that she wore a leggings-as-pants outfit this week in Los Angeles. It was a very chic legging outfit at that, and it was far from a post-workout look.

Bieber’s daytime look consisted of a pair of Wardrobe.NYC stirrup leggings, which she paired with a black mock-neck top and an oversize camel blazer. She finished off the outfit with an oversize Saint Laurent tote bag and gold ’80-inspired earrings, but it was the shoe trend she chose that really put the look in “elegant” territory. The shoe trend was kitten heel pumps (backless in this case) by Toteme, which looked especially cool with the stirrup leggings—so cool that I think I found my new favorite styling trick.
