The big question surrounding the Las Vegas Raiders right now is whether Maxx Crosby will wear a silver and black uniform next season. The star defensive end has seen his name come up in plenty of trade rumors lately, and a number of teams across the NFL would surely love to land him.
However, as one could expect, the Raiders won’t let go of him easily. The five-time Pro Bowler is 28 years of age, which means he should have plenty left in the tank, and he is one of the very best at generating pressure on opposing quarterbacks.
ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter made an appearance on 97.5 The Fanatic, a Delaware Valley radio station, to talk about the chances of the Philadelphia Eagles landing Crosby. He said that Las Vegas isn’t very inclined to trade Crosby, and that if it does end up doing so, it may take a king’s ransom.
“I was told that the Raiders don’t want to trade [Maxx Crosby], and if they even contemplated it, then it would take a Micah Parsons type package. That’s what I was told. Do I think they are getting two firsts and a player, no. Do I think they want to trade him, no. Do I think he’ll be traded like AJ Brown [could be], that’ll change by the week… Any deal involving Maxx Crosby, I would think for the Raiders to make that deal, would take a first round pick at minimum.”
Parsons, who, like Crosby, is an elite edge rusher, was traded by the Dallas Cowboys to the Green Bay Packers just prior to the start of this season for two first-round draft picks, as well as defensive tackle Kenny Clark, a three-time Pro Bowler. But Parsons is about two years younger than Crosby, and just because the Cowboys got a big return for him doesn’t mean Las Vegas will get what it may demand for Crosby.
In 2025, Crosby put up 10 sacks, 28 tackles for loss, 20 quarterback hits, six passes defended and 73 total tackles (45 solo). He has the ability to single-handedly elevate a team’s defense and take plenty of pressure off other defensive ends and off-ball linebackers on his team.
But the Raiders have an awful team right now, and he doesn’t seem to fit their timeline. After going 3-14 this season, they will have the No. 1 pick in April’s NFL draft, but this year’s draft class isn’t especially attractive, unless Indiana University quarterback Fernando Mendoza turns into a diamond in the rough.
Las Vegas badly needs a competent quarterback, as well as help at the wide receiver position and plenty of assistance on the defensive side of the football. Perhaps the team shouldn’t be in a rush to trade Crosby, but if it receives a sizable offer for him, it may be time for it to part ways with him and use the return it would get for him to accelerate its rebuilding process.
Crosby has four more years left on his contract and will carry a $35.88 million salary cap hit for the 2026 campaign. The Raiders, however, will have over $87 million of cap space, according to spotrac.com.
This is not the next James Bond. Indiana University quarterback Fernando Mendoza was in Ft. Worth on Monday night to accept the 2025 Davey O’ Brien award.

FORT WORTH
The most charming and endearing player in college football, who routinely praises God and boasts an endearing LinkedIn profile, could soon be headed to Sin City, a place that celebrates, “What happens in Vegas, Stays in Vegas.”
Indiana University quarterback Fernando Mendoza is, at least right now, the projected No. 1 pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, owned by the Las Vegas Raiders. The place where coaching and playing careers go to die.
“I’d be blessed to play for the Raiders. I’d be blessed to play for any NFL team that drafts me,” Mendoza said Monday afternoon. “I’d be ecstatic. I know I’ll probably shed a tear to just because it’s such a full circle moment; my whole goal, even the goal of transferring to Indiana, was to make the NFL. It wasn’t to be a great college player. It was to try to develop and be an NFL quarterback one day.”
That day is coming.
Rather than create any potential thought that he’d rather not play for the Raiders with some vague generalities, the Heisman Trophy winner and college football’s top choir boy made it clear he just wants to play in the NFL, whether that’s with the Raiders, Jets, Cardinals, et al.
Mendoza was in Fort Worth on Monday night to accept the Davey O’ Brien trophy, given annually to the nation’s top college quarterback. He chatted with the Fort Worth Star-Telegram and Associated Press before the ceremony, and confirmed that his personality is not scripted.
Fernando Mendoza is no longer off social media
Other than a YouTube and LinkedIn account, Mendoza did his best to stay away from TikTok, Instagram, X, or the rest of the social media apps that waste our lives during the season. Now that the season is over, he’s smart enough to recognize the opportunity that comes when you lead Indiana University to the national title in football.
Had he been on any of those apps during the 2025 season, he would have been floored by the national reaction to his post game interviews that are so bubbly, upbeat, positive, effervescent that they don’t seem possible. Or, at worst, more like an act.
One of Mendoza’s tasks during the pre-draft process is to convince NFL teams this is not shtick.
“There’s a lot of narratives, and I’m very blessed at the narratives where, “Hey, this guy’s a great guy, and he’s God-fearing, and he’s very team oriented,’ and those are messages I always try to convey,” he said. “That’s just who I am. There’s authenticity, especially sometimes the post-game interviews that I show my passion and willingness for my teammates and for the program that comes out; people may think, ‘Maybe it’s not real.’
“Or, some people think, ‘Wow, this is what true authenticity looks like.’ And I would just try to be my authentic self. I believe that people can sniff out fake.”
When he was on the stage after IU defeated Miami to win the national title, he made a calculated decision that was decidedly not the Fernando Mendoza we had seen throughout the entire year. During the post-game interview on TV, he dropped the ‘F’ word. He knew what he was doing.
“Instead of ‘flipping’ I said (that word) because, contrary to public opinion, it’s not like I never curse,” he said. “I’m a man. I fall into sin. I don’t try to curse. It’s not nice, especially with television. And it’s a habit that I try to take off. But I’ve cursed before. So I try to show my true self in that aspect.
“My true self is not, not cursing, but I also try to show people that I’m relatable, and I could be a normal person.”
If this is an all act, give the man an Academy Award, too.
Fernando Mendoza’s legacy is secure and far from complete
Mendoza could never play another down of football, and he had a career most never do. He’s earned his degree from the University of California. He won the Heisman Trophy, Davey O’ Brien Award, Maxwell Award, and led IU to a national title.
Is it enough?
“Yes, and no,” he said. “I’m highly blessed and highly favored that God’s put me in this position; as a two-star recruit who literally signed a blank piece of paper because there’s no scholarship for Ivy Leagues, and it’s going to go to the bank to take out a $320,000 loan and put myself in a student debt to just go play football at Yale. That’s how much I love football.
“Last minute, the 11th hour, Cal came calling, which is just a great blessing. So with that, yes, I would be happy. However, now I’m always driving for more. The college is great., but that part’s behind me and there’s going to be parts to reflect on that.
“I feel like I’ve been satisfied with my college career. However, now I’m on to the NFL career, (it) requires new skills; it’s a grown man’s league. That’s what I want to play against.”
He will here shortly, and whatever team drafts him — the Raiders, Jets, Cardinals or anyone else — believe it when he says he’s excited. It’s not an act.

It’s clearly the case that Eagles fans will have a few regrets from the 2025-26 NFL season.
Credit: Unsplash
There were some high points, including an absolutely dominant 31-0 performance over the Raiders, and two tight road wins over Philadelphia’s ‘perceived’ Super Bowl rivals, the Chiefs and Bills, but there were enough low points, including a really disappointing loss to the Giants and a three-game winless streak across the early winter that really underlined the fact that the magic of last season would be difficult to repeat.
The upshot is that Eagles fans will be watching on a little enviously as the Seahawks and Patriots clash at Levi’s Stadium on February 8. The odds for Super Bowl LX are live, but did you know that some sportsbooks have already released the market for Super Bowl LXI.
It’s a common enough occurrence to see both markets running simultaneously, as it allows fans to get ahead of the game by diving into the futures markets for an event over a year away.
Eagles Are Respected in Super Bowl LXI Odds
Nevertheless, the markets make interesting reading for the Eagles. Where does the average fan think the team should be? Outright favorites?
Not as things stand, but the good news is that the sportsbooks retain ‘respect’ for the Eagles, putting them firmly in the top tier of contenders.
Here’s the Super Bowl LXI market as it stands today*
Now, a few things are apparent from this list. The first is that it feels like a little bit of a place-holding list. Moves across the offseason will transform the market, and you should also get a little movement after Super Bowl LX. A comfortable win for the Seahawks, for instance, will firm up Seattle’s odds. The Patriots will move should the Super Bowl go New England’s way.
A Season of Shocks Makes Predictions Difficult
There is natural hesitancy from sportsbooks at this point, so in most years, the Playoff teams tend to go back to the top of the markets, with the Super Bowl teams often pegged as the two favorites. But this was not an ordinary season, as numerous well-fancied teams fell by the wayside.
Look at the odds for teams like the Ravens, Chiefs, and Lions, all of whom missed the Playoffs.
As for the Eagles, we will have to wait and see. There are big decisions to be made across the roster, not least what to do with AJ Brown. There was definitely a sense of “it’s not broken, why try to fix it” going into the 2025 season. Changes were made, sure, but this offseason might see more pronounced decisions, and that will filter through to the betting odds.
Indeed, it will be intriguing to see where the Eagles will be placed next September. The core of the team is good enough to ensure that the ‘respect’ we talked about will stay, but other teams will surely make big moves too.
It’s going to be interesting because you get the sense that whatever the Eagles’ front office decides in the coming months could decide the direction of travel for a few seasons.
The NFL season is over, and everything is worse now. We just saw the Seattle Seahawks soundly defeat the New England Patriots in Super Bowl 60, meaning the Eagles’ title of defending champions is over.
We now enter the dark day,s also known as the offseason.
Football-less weekends are upon us.
How you spend these next few months is up to you, but here’s where I’m starting.
We do know that Jordan Love has played well under Mannion, Baker has become the franchise guy in Tampa under Grizzard, and the Vikings’ rushing game was surprisingly competent despite the revolving door of starter quarterbacks. I’ll also be looking at players who may join or leave the team next year.
A.J. Brown
Brings us to crazy trade scenarios. Is AJ Brown actually going to force a trade out of Philadelphia? Personally, I want to keep AJ despite his antics from the last two years. Most reports show Brown’s value around a second-round pick, which doesn’t justify it to me. Sure, a second-round pick could be any caliber of player; it could even be an AJ Brown-type player. Then again, Howie has shown he’d rather pull the plug early than late.
Maxx Crosby
Is Howie going to pull a masterclass and try to get Maxx Crosby? While I would love to see a player like him added to the team, I think it only really happens if the Raiders are desperate to move him.
He has a massive contract signed last year, and the Eagles need more help on the offensive line than on the defensive line. They’ll likely try to build through the draft.
2026 NFL Draft
Speaking of, you can also start prepping for the draft. My early draft prep is to take an o-line or player from either the college playoffs or the SEC. I think the biggest difference for the Eagles from 2024 to 2025 was their running game.
Hand up, I’m not much of a college football fan, so specifics will come later as we get closer to the draft. I do know that we can’t judge their past season of play until we see how well they exercise before the draft. More to come later, but we have our last idea.
Landon Dickerson
Doom scroll about the team. Not recommended, and actually, I’m going to try to talk you down on the big ones. Landon Dickerson might retire due to a knee injury that has reportedly plagued his 2025 season and was an issue when he was first drafted. It may surprise you, but I’m not secretly a doctor with a great knowledge of players’ knees.
As a sports watcher, I can say we’ve seen a lot of players with leg injuries heal faster and return to 100% as of late. There are ACLs like Jayson Tatum or even Joel Embiid who got knee surgery and have been playing like they did when they won the MVP.
Lane Johnson
Lane Johnson also underwent surgery, and as the Eagles’ longest-tenured player (assuming Brandon Graham re-retires), there are questions about his future. I don’t actually expect him to retire unless his healing goes worse than expected.
What I do expect is that this is his last year, so the Eagles better take one of those guys I haven’t researched yet.
Vic Fangio
Vic Fangio also flirted with retirement but has told the team he’d remain for at least another year. While this would be bad for obvious reasons, there’s always the chance that these were just rumors and a return to winning would cure his issues. There’s also our old pal Jim Schwartz, who is taking a year off from football after not being picked as the Browns’ head coach.
Would he be willing to take another defensive coordinator position? Who knows, but I can tell you he’d get more national coverage with the Eagles than the Browns.
Those are a few things I’ll be doing.
I’ll also be writing for all you fine readers.

Kubiak is the current offensive coordinator of the Super Bowl Bowl-bound Seattle
Kubiak reportedly wants the Raiders head coaching job
Raiders finished 3-14, last in the NFL
According to ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter, the Las Vegas Raiders are close to hiring Seattle Seahawks offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak as the team’s new head coach.
Offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak of the Seattle Seahawks looks on against the Houston Texans at Lumen Field in Seattle last October. The Las Vegas Raiders are expected to name Kubiak as their new head coach. (Image: Steph Chambers/Getty Images)
“Source: After meeting Saturday with Las Vegas and Arizona, Seahawks offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak intends to try to work out a deal to become the next head coach of the Raiders,” Schefter wrote earlier today on his X account.
Seahawks Among NFL Leaders in Offence
No deal can be finalized until after the Super Bowl, but Klint Kubiak wants to coach the Raiders, and they want him to be their head coach. Now it’s only a matter of time before the two sides can formalize a deal.”
Considering Schefter’s reputation as one of the most credible insiders who covers the NFL, you can take the X post to the bank.
The Raiders, under coach Pete Carroll, finished last in the NFL, with a record of 3-14. Carroll was fired a few days after the regular season ended. The team owns the first overall pick in this spring’s NFL draft, and are expected to select Heisman Trophy winner QB Fernando Mendoza. At DraftKings, Mendoza is -8000 to go first overall, followed by Trinidad Chambliss at +3500.
Las Vegas Gambling: Super Bowl LX Betting Favourites
Seahawks’ QB Sam Darnold, after basically being run out of Minnesota by the Vikings last season, has had a turnaround season with Kubiak as offensive coordinator. Darnold was the fifth most prolific quarterback in the NFL this past regular season, with 4,048 yards in passing, in 17 games, and 25 TDs, good for ninth in the league.
The Seahawks, current betting favourites for Super Bowl LX against the New England Patriots Feb. 8, ranked among the NFL leaders in several offensive categories. In offensive yards per game, the Seahawks were eighth in the NFL, at 351.4. Seattle was eighth in offensive yards, at 5,973, eighth in yards per game for passing (228.1), and third in point per game on offence, at 28.4.
The Raiders currently have close to $88 million in cap space, with internet chatter that star defensive end Maxx Crosby might be traded. Crosby makes $30 million per season.
QB Geno Smith, brought in last season in a trade with Seattle as the supposed answer at the position, makes $26.5 million per season. Smith was a disappointment as quarterback for the Raiders, leading the NFL in interceptions with 17.
The Las Vegas Raiders (2‑12) make the short trip to NRG Stadium to take on the Houston Texans (9‑5) in what shapes up as one of the more lopsided games on the Week 16 slate. Houston comes in riding a six‑game winning streak and is firmly in the AFC playoff hunt, looking to extend that streak to seven with another strong showing at home. The Texans’ defense has been elite all season, ranking first in the NFL in both points and yards allowed per game, and Houston has turned that unit into a foundation for success as they chase an AFC South title and favorable playoff positioning. Their balanced attack, led by C.J. Stroud and playmakers like Nico Collins, gives them another edge against a Raiders team that has struggled to sustain drives and put up points this year.
Las Vegas, by contrast, enters on an eight‑game losing skid, with an offense that ranks last in the league in nearly every major category, including scoring. Despite the return of Geno Smith under center and flashes from rookie talents like Ashton Jeanty and Brock Bowers, the Raiders have had trouble moving the ball against stout defenses and will face perhaps their toughest challenge of the year against Houston’s pass rush and disciplined secondary. The matchup highlights a stark contrast in trajectories: Houston is building momentum in a playoff race while Vegas is largely focused on development and finding bright spots down the stretch. Expect the Texans’ defense to set the tone early and often in this one, with Houston firmly in control throughout.
This is a great NFL matchup that you will not want to miss; make sure to tune in and catch all the action.

With 3 weeks to go in the regular season, playoff spots are starting to be snatched up. With the Broncos, Seahawks and Rams being the first teams to clinch a playoff spot, many more will soon follow.
Including the Eagles, whose magic number jumped from 3 all the way to 1 on Sunday following a Raiders blowout and a Cowboys season that’s nearly over, courtesy of “Nine” and the Minnesota Vikings.
And the Eagles first opportunity to punch their ticket into the postseason comes a day earlier this week. With a Saturday night game against the Washington Commanders
The Last Match
January 26th 2025 was the last time these teams saw each other. In an NFC Championship Game division matchup. To end a conversation:
What would happen if Jalen Hurts played all 4 quarters of the Week 16 loss?
A game that saw the Eagles take a quick 14-0 lead that saw Hurts exit due to a concussion just 5 minutes into the game. The final score ended 36-33 after the Eagles defense couldn’t get a stop, and the offense led by Kenny Pickett could barely pick up a first down.
To open the NFC championship game, the Commanders led an 18 play, 54 yard drive that included two 4th down conversions and finished with 3 points. The Eagles answer to that drive? This Saquon Barkley60 yard TD on the Eagles opening play of the game.
What followed was an absolute rout. The Eagles saw a 12 point lead at halftime, before they took things personally and finished the game with a 21 point 4th quarter after forcing two turnovers by the Commanders.
Now, things will look a little different.
Saturday Night
Jayden Daniels has since been shut down for the season. With multiple injuries sidelining him for weeks at a time. Instead, the Eagles will play against their former backup QB Marcus Mariota who has lead his current team to a 1-3 record.
Having been eliminated from playoff contention weeks ago, the Commanders will have nothing to play for but draft position, and attempting to foil the Eagles playoff/seeding hopes.
However with a laundry list of injuries ranging from Laremy Tunsil, and Colson Yankoff listed Out for this week. With names like Trey Amos, Luke McCaffrey, Zach Ertz, Marshon Lattimore and Dorance Armstrong already on injured reserve, the Commanders will be thin at numerous positions. Hoping the Eagles can take advantage of a depleted team that thought they could repeat a 12-5 Cinderella run from only a year ago.
The 37-year-old Graham collected two sacks against the Raiders playing inside the defensive line. He’s shaken off the retirement rust, but the position switch has also forced him to play faster.
The Eagles snapped a three-game losing streak in perfect fashion during a snowy December afternoon at Lincoln Financial Field with a 31–0 trouncing of the Las Vegas Raiders — the first Eagles shutout since 2018.
The Philadelphia Eagles and the Las Vegas Raiders aren’t having the 2025 seasons that they expected. While the Eagles needed this weekend’s game to continue to challenge for the #2 or #1 seeds in the NFC Playoffs — the 2–12 Raiders are having a season to forget — as their organization makes an attempt to regain it’s former dominance of yesteryear.
It’s been 44 years since the Eagles and Raiders met in Super Bowl XV. The Raiders had already won the Super Bowl in 1977. For the Eagles — it was the first Super Bowl appearance and first Championship appearance since 1960. The previous two decades had been bleak — and it would be another twenty-five years until the Eagles would return to another one.
Back at Sunday’s action — the Eagles opened the scoring on the first drive of the game with a Dallas Goedert four-yard touchdown catch from Jalen Hurts. At the beginning of the second quarter — the Eagles had an opportunity for more points when Goedert dropped a touchdown pass in the endzone and Philly had to settle for three points. The Eagles added another score when Saquon Barkley plunged in from two-yards out to give the Eagles a 17–0 halftime lead.
Philly never looked back.
After a Zach Baun interception in the third quarter — Hurts found Goedert again for another four-yard pass. Then in the 4th quarter Hurts connected with AJ Brown to go up 31–0. The offense did get the football back on a long drive at the end of the game but could not convert a 4th and Goal from the 1.
The defense settled down after some early penalties to hold the Raiders and Kenny Pickett to just 75 yards of total offense. Brandon Graham had two sacks for the Eagles.
When Kenny Pickett arrived in Philadelphia in the summer of 2024 looking for a fresh start — he got the opportunity to backup Jalen Hurts. The Eagles had acquired him through a trade with the Steelers. His place as Pittsburgh’s Franchise Quarterback had become fluid with the arrival of veteran Russell Wilson — and so he requested the opportunity to play elsewhere.
Last season — Pickett played in five games for the World Championship Eagles and even started in a win against Dallas.
Photo Courtesy of Eagles Nation on X.
When it comes to allowing quarterbacks to thrive elsewhere — the Eagles have a history with that. Randall Cunningham’s last game in Philadelphia was in relief of an injured Rodney Peete in the 1996 Divisional Playoffs against the Cowboys. In the week leading up to the game — Cunningham missed time with the team due to the birth of his son. Cunningham would retire after the season but returned to football in 1997 and with the Minnesota Vikings in 1998 came one field goal away from the Super Bowl.
Sonny Jurgenson was drafted by the Eagles in 1957. When Norm Van Brocklin retired after winning the Championship in 1960, Jurgensen became the starter. After a season as an NFL passing leader and record setter with 3,723 yards in 1961 — on April 1st, 1964 — the Eagles traded him to the Washington Redskins in return for Norm Snead and defensive back Claude Crabb.
No team knows the value of a great backup quarterback better than the Eagles (just ask Nick Foles.) But since the Eagles have McKee — they looked to trade Kenny Pickett. Novacare is really high on Tanner McKee, and the Eagles leveraged Pickett for capital in return last summer.
Now Pickett returns to Philadelphia after being traded from Cleveland to Las Vegas in August. He’ll start against Philadelphia for the Raiders after an injury to Geno Smith. He’ll always be a champion in Philadelphia. But for one day — until 4:00 P.M. — we’ll have to root against him.
The Philadelphia Eagles lost their third straight game on Monday night to the Chargers, but at least they escaped L.A. without any new significant injuries. Their Week 15 opponent, the Las Vegas Raiders, are expected to be without starting quarterback Geno Smith.
Here’s the Eagles-Raiders injury report, with analysis.

Wednesday notes (Walkthrough, estimation only):
• There is some optimism that Lane will play in this game, but his DNP is not a great start to the week.
• Carter was considered “week-to-week” after the procedure on his shoulders. He could miss another game. We’ll see.
• Dickerson left Monday night’s game with his calf injury, but returned to the field later.
Thursday notes:
• Dickerson went from limited on Wednesday to a non-participant on Thursday, though it certainly makes sense to get him some rest.
• Fred Johnson was added to the report today, which is not ideal with Lane Johnson already hurt. Johnson’s addition to the injury report perhaps explains why the Eagles opened the 21-day practice window for Cameron Williams on Thursday.
Friday notes:
• Lane Johnson and Jalen Carter are both out, as expected.
• Fred Johnson is good to go.
Notable players on IR, PUP, suspension, etc.
• S Andrew Mukuba (IR, eligible to come off of IR after Week 16): Mukuba has had an up and down rookie season, but was beginning to earn the trust of defensive coordinator Vic Fangio. On the season, Mukuba has 46 tackles and 2 INTs.
• WR Johnny Wilson (IR, knee/ankle, out for the season): Wilson is a massive receiver at 6’6, 228 who carved out a dirty work role as a physical blocker his rookie season in 2024, though sometimes he was a little too aggressive, as he committed four penalties (3 holding, 1 OPI). He wasn’t much of a threat as a receiver, catching only 5 passes for 38 yards and a TD. He played a little over 400 snaps, and actually started four games.
• EDGE Ogbo Okoronkwo (IR, triceps, eligible to come off of IR at any time, season could be over): Okoronkwo was signed to provide edge depth. He played in just one game (4 snaps) before tearing his triceps.
• EDGE Azeez Ojulari (IR, triceps, eligible to come off of IR at any time): Ojulari was the presumed third EDGE defender in the pecking order when he signed with the Eagles as a free agent, but he is now no better than the EDGE7.
• FB Ben VanSumeren (IR, knee, out for the season): VanSumeren was poised to take on a bigger role in the Eagles’ offense in 2025 as a full-time fullback, but he tore his patellar tendon on the opening kickoff of the season. His season is over.
• iOL Willie Lampkin (IR, season over): Lampkin is an extreme oddity, in that he is a 5’11 offensive lineman who only weighs 290 pounds. He looks like a player you’d create in Madden just for fun. However, coming out of North Carolina he received glowing reviews for his play on the field, and he played well in the preseason after signing with the Rams as an undrafted rookie free agent. The Rams waived Lampkin with an injury designation. The Eagles then claimed him and placed him on their IR.
The Eagles activated Lampkin’s 21-day practice window, which expired. He won’t play this season.
• OT Myles Hinton (IR, Eagles opened up 21-day practice window on 11/19): Hinton is a sixth-round rookie who was up and down in training camp. The Eagles placed him on IR with a back injury, and he has not been on the active roster all season.
The Eagles activated Hinton’s 21-day practice window, which expired. He won’t play this season.
• OT Cameron Williams (IR, eligible to come off of IR at any time): Williams struggled in training camp, and landed on IR. This is effectively a redshirt season for him. Williams did have his 21-day practice window activated in Thursday, but he remains unlikely to play this season.

Wednesday notes:
• Several reports have emerged that Geno Smith will not play in this game. Smith injured his right shoulder in the third quarter of the Raiders’ loss to the Broncos on Sunday. He also suffered a cut on his right hand.
Former Eagle Kenny Pickett filled in and played well, completing 8 of 11 passes for 97 yards and a TD against a good Broncos defense.
Smith has had a horrendous season. He leads the NFL with 14 INTs, and his total EPA of -70.73 is ranked 70th in the NFL, only ahead of Titans rookie Cam Ward. The Eagles might very well rather face Smith.
• Last week, Crosby was on the Raiders’ injury report with a knee injury. He was limited on Wednesday, and he did not practice on Thursday or Friday. He played all 74 snaps against the Broncos, and had 4 tackles and a sack. He has 9 sacks and 2 forced fumbles on the season, and is pretty clearly the Raiders’ best player. My bet is that he’ll play on Sunday, but we’ll keep an eye out for reporting on him throughout the week.
• Miller is the starting LT. He is on IR, but he returned to practice on Wednesday for the first time since Week 4. He was a first-round pick in 2018, and is Vegas’ best offensive lineman, by far. He suffered a high ankle sprain and a hairline fracture Week 4 against the Bears. Stone Forsythe filled in, and has started the last nine games for the Raiders.
• Chinn is second on the team with 104 tackles. Like Crosby, he also played all 74 snaps against the Broncos.
Thursday notes:
• With the exception of Geno Smith, all of the Raiders players who did not participate in practice on Wednesday were limited on Thursday. That’s a positive development for them.
• Kolton Miller was still limited. The guess here is that he won’t play, especially since the Raiders have nothing to play for.
Friday notes:
• Smith is officially out. Pickett will start.
• Miller is officially out as well.

• LT Kolton Miller (IR, 21-day practice window opened on Wednesday): As noted above.
• RG Jackson Powers-Johnson (IR, eligible to come off of IR at any time): Powers-Johnson was the Raiders’ starting RG to begin the season. He was the Raiders’ second-round pick in 2024. He suffered an ankle injury against the Broncos Week 10, and his season is likely over. The Raiders’ current starter at RG is Caleb Rogers, a third-round rookie.
• CB Kyu Blu-Kelly (will soon be on IR, season over): Blu-Kelly is a starting corner. He had 40 tackles and 3 INTs before suffering a ruptured patellar tendon against the Broncos Week 14. His season is over. The Raiders’ other regular starting corner is Eric Stokes. Third-round rookie Darien Porter filled in for Blu-Kelly after he went down.
When the Las Vegas Raiders hired Pete Carroll to be their head coach in January, it was hard to imagine him getting fired within 12 months. He is a highly accomplished coach at both the NCAA and NFL levels, and as most remember, he guided the Seattle Seahawks to the Super Bowl championship in the 2013 season and came very close to winning another one the following year.
But the Raiders are tied for the NFL’s worst record at 2-11 and have a seven-game losing streak, and there are rumors that Carroll could be on the hot seat. They already fired Chip Kelly, another accomplished coach whom they hired to be Carroll’s offensive coordinator, after their Week 12 loss to the Cleveland Browns, and one has to wonder what direction they may head on if they want to give Carroll the axe.
ESPN insider Dan Graziano wrote in a recent article that he feels Vance Joseph, the Denver Broncos‘ defensive coordinator, could end up replacing Carroll.
“Joseph seems to be the name we’re hearing the most, because of Denver’s defensive success and his previous head coach experience (with Denver, oddly enough),” Graziano wrote. “People close to the situation point out that Joseph never had a stable quarterback situation in his first head coaching stint and didn’t have full autonomy over the hiring of his staff, so it would seem unfair to completely hold his 11-21 record against him. I think he gets several interviews and could be a strong candidate in a place such as Las Vegas, should that job come open.”
After a brief playing career in the NFL during the 1990s, Joseph spent many years as an assistant coach at the college and pro levels before becoming the Broncos’ head coach for the 2017 and 2018 seasons when they were rebuilding following Peyton Manning’s retirement. Denver fired him at the end of the 2018 campaign, and after four years as the Arizona Cardinals’ defensive coordinator, he returned to Denver in that same capacity.
Denver’s defense has dramatically improved under Joseph’s guidance. This season, the team is fourth in points allowed and third in total yards allowed, and even though the Broncos’ offense has been rather average overall, their defense has propelled them to an 11-2 record, which ties them with the New England Patriots for the NFL’s best record.
Las Vegas’ defense hasn’t been quite as bad as its offense this year, but it has been fairly weak. Perhaps Joseph could make something significant happen on that side of the football in 2026, especially with a superstar pass rusher such as Maxx Crosby.
Given Raiders quarterback Geno Smith’s substandard play this season and the uncertainty about his future with the team, perhaps it would be best for the franchise to embrace winning mostly with defense, as the Broncos have. Joseph could perhaps help build such a culture and resurrect the franchise after some two decades of mostly ineptitude.
The Chargers most recently fell 35-6 to the Jacksonville Jaguars, ending the team’s three-game win streak
Omarion Hampton’s return will have to wait another week.
After missing the Los Angeles Chargers’ last six games, the No. 22 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft will be kept off the gridiron Sunday afternoon at SoFi Stadium against the Las Vegas Raiders in the Chargers’ No. 12 game of the 2026-2026 season. The Chargers are coming off a bye week and a 29-point loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars on Nov. 16 – ending the three-game win streak.
The former RB1 returned to the Chargers’ practices this week, and despite being ruled out of Sunday’s contest, offensive coordinator Greg Roman has stated that the Los Angeles squad will utilize a 1-2 punch from the backfield with Hampton and Vidal – the team’s main tailback since losing Hampton and running back Najee Harris.
Vidal has been inconsistent in his time as the Chargers’ featured back, running for 95-plus yards in alternating weeks from Oct. 12 onwards, including a 124-yard performance against the Miami Dolphins, a 117-yard rushing attack against the Minnesota Vikings and a 95-yard night against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
However, Vidal’s high-performance games are balanced by inefficient production in the weeks in between, notching 20 yards against the Indianapolis Colts, 30 ground yards against the Tennessee Titans, and just 13 yards in the Chargers’ most recent defeat by the Jaguars.
After a loss that brought the Los Angeles squad to 7-4, the Chargers should have a good opportunity for a rebound performance against the Raiders, their division rivals.
The Raiders are 2-9 in the NFL and rank last in the AFC West, and are riding a five-game losing streak. The Las Vegas squad has scored 20-plus points in just one of the Raiders’ last seven games, resulting in the removal of Chip Kelly as the team’s offensive coordinator.

Under Kelly’s tutelage of the offense, the Raiders offense tied for No. 31 in scoring, ranked No. 30 in total offense, No. 31 in rushing offense – despite drafting Ashton Jeanty with the sixth pick in the 2025 NFL Draft – No. 25 in passing offense and No. 31 in sacks allowed.
Despite the departure of Kelly and the offense’s lack of prowess, quarterback Geno Smith looks to remain the Raiders’ starter under center. Smith has thrown for 2,367 passing yards and 13 touchdowns on a 66.6% completion percentage. However, Smith’s pitfall comes with his miscues – throwing 13 interceptions through 11 games, matching his passing touchdown total.
Smith’s main targets, and the Chargers’ threats to be aware of, include tight end Brock Bowers and outside wide receiver Tre Tucker. Bowers, who broke multiple rookie records last season, has amassed 510 yards – second most behind Tucker – and three receiving touchdowns.
Tucker leads the Raiders with 530 receiving yards and five touchdowns and has seen an increased role after the departure of wide receiver Jakobi Meyers to the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Meyers has been essential to the Raiders’ offense over the past few seasons and still ranks third on the team in receiving yards despite only playing seven games in a Raiders uniform this season.
The Raiders offense has struggled all season long and is in disarray, setting up the Chargers for what could be a perfect bounce-back affair.
HENDERSON, Nev. (AP) — All indications since he joined the Raiders this year are that Geno Smith is popular and well-respected in the locker room, and his interactions with the media have mostly been positive.
But everyone has a breaking point, and Smith might have reached his on Sunday.
After he was sacked 10 times in a 24-10 loss to Cleveland and booed from the moment he was introduced, Smith was seen making an obscene gesture toward fans as he left the field. Shortly thereafter, his answers in the postgame news conference were uncharacteristically brief.
The Raiders pointed to a statement they issued to the Las Vegas Review-Journal regarding the incident with fans.
“We are disappointed in his actions and have discussed the incident with Geno,” the statement read. “We hold the Raider Nation in the highest regard and take this matter seriously.”
It’s understandable why Smith is frustrated. This isn’t the kind of season he and coach Pete Carroll envisioned when the Raiders traded with Seattle to land him. Both had success with the Seahawks and had every intention of translating that to Las Vegas.
But 11 games and an NFL-high 13 interceptions later, his business with the Raiders may be closer to finished. Judging Smith as the starting quarterback is tricky, however, given how inept the offensive line — coached by Carroll’s son, Brennan — has been.
Smith had virtually no chance against Myles Garrett and the Browns’ pass rush, and as Carroll said Monday regarding the offensive line, “We got the guys we got.”
But Smith will have a new offensive coordinator and play-caller in Greg Olson, the interim replacement for Chip Kelly, who was fired Sunday night. Maybe Olson, in his third stint as the Raiders’ OC, will find a way to help Smith play better than he has to this point.
That Carroll has fired two coordinators in the same month — special teams boss Tom McMahon was let go on Nov. 7 — is more than telling. Carroll had never fired a coordinator in-season before he got to Las Vegas.
“I’m really surprised as well that this has happened, but I think our players deserve it, and our fans deserve that we give them our best shot, and that’s what competing is all about,” Carroll said. “It’s just a very difficult time to have to do this … but we’re 2-9. So, unfortunately, that’s where we are.”
What’s working
DE Maxx Crosby. When is he not? Crosby always brings it, in practices or games. He was sensational even by his standards against the Browns, recording a personal-high five tackles for loss. His 19 tackles for loss this season are on pace to surpass the 23 he registered in 2023, when Crosby led the league in that category for the second year in a row. He trails only the 26 by Browns superstar Myles Garrett.
What needs help
The offensive line. If T Kolton Miller returns from injury at some point, it will get at least a little better. But any true improvement will have to occur in the offseason. This line might be the NFL’s worst and will need an overhaul. Giving up 10 sacks even to a stellar Browns defensive front is inexcusable, but the lack of pass protection and run blocking is not new.
Stock up
Move up the boards. The Raiders are up to fifth in next year’s draft order, and there’s a real chance they won’t win again this season. If Las Vegas loses out, the Raiders could put themselves in line to draft Indiana’s Fernando Mendoza and maybe find the franchise quarterback they so desperately need.
Stock down
Job security. With two coordinators gone already, no one can feel too comfortable about their future in Las Vegas. That includes Carroll. Massive change figures to come in the offseason, and given how this season is playing out, it would be difficult to argue for the status quo.
Injuries
The Raiders got some rare good news with RB Ashton Jeanty (ankle) avoiding serious injury. He is not expected to miss any time. …There is still hope Miller (ankle) will return by the end of the season, but Carroll said his situation was “more week to week” than day to day.
Key number
8 — The number of play-callers the Raiders have had since October 2021, including Olson twice.
Next steps
The Raiders visit their AFC West rival Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday.
All eyes are on Cleveland Browns rookie quarterback Shedeur Sanders as he makes his first NFL start against the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday afternoon.
A pair of those eyes include his Hall of Fame father, Deion Sanders, who was spotted at Allegiant Stadium as his son walked the tunnel out to the field with the Browns.
They shared a father-son moment, where they inaudibly spoke to each other as Coach Prime had a big smile on his face, tapping his son’s helmet.

Then, Shedeur Sanders gave a quick speech to his teammates before running out onto the field.
“The work’s already been done, bro. We already worked for this s—. You feel me? It’s us. Let’s do it. I believe in y’all. Y’all believe in me. Let’s do it,” he said.
Sanders hyped up the crowd as he ran out onto the field in Las Vegas and started to take it all in. From there, it was time to warm up.
Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski made the announcement that Sanders would be starting for his team on Sunday, as Gabriel is in concussion protocol. Gabriel, who Stefanski went with over Sanders after the trade of Joe Flacco, did not practice on Wednesday or Thursday.
Fox One/Fox Nation special promotion.(Fox News)
Though Gabriel was able to practice on Friday, he was ruled out with Bailey Zappe being named Sanders’ backup.
Snaders made his regular season debut this past week in the loss to the Baltimore Ravens, where he didn’t have the best outing. The Colorado product threw for only 47 yards on 4-of-16 passing with an interception thrown.
But Sanders had very limited first-team reps during practice last week, and he was thrown into the fire against an aggressive Ravens defense in the 23-16 defeat. However, Sanders had the full week of practice with the thought that he would start, and now that opportunity presents itself against a 2-8 Raiders team.

The Browns’ quarterback position is wide open, and now Sanders, who was a fifth-round pick after many believed he would be gone on night one in Green Bay, has the chance to cement himself as Cleveland’s guy for the remainder of the season.
Quarterback Dak Prescott completed 25 of 33 passes for 268 yards and four touchdowns.
Here’s everything he said to the media after the game:
On his thoughts on the last few days
“Obviously, a tough, hard, 12 days, and through the bye week those days, as I mentioned earlier in the week, those first few days, right, not being with the guys was harder than anything. But the last six, seven, being together, working together, having conversations, healing, shining a light on who Marshawn [Kneeland] was. Then, obviously coming out here tonight, and playing with the style that he played with, the intensity, the efforts, finish, and super proud of the guys. Whirlwind of a week. Great one to cap off with a win right here, put a cap on it. We’re going to continue to move forward, shining light on Marshawn and his and carrying his legacy, and we need to play like this every week, moving forward, and he’ll always be with us.”
On CeeDee Lamb’s and George Pickens’ play in the game
“Huge. I mean getting those guys the ball, watching them run after catch, being who they are, two elite guys that complement each other, that build off of each other’s energy. One guy makes a play, the other one wants to make a play. Tonight was fun, just as I’ve always said. I’m just trying to get the ball out of my hands to these guys, be like a point guard and let them go do what they do best, and tonight was a good example of that.”
On the energy between him and Pickens
“He’s a wonderful, kind guy. Special individual, elite, has a great feel for the game, loves the game, plays the game like a kid. When you watch him play, the energy, the celebrations, that’s contagious. Luckily, we got a kicker who can make it. I know Schott [head coach Brian Schottenheimer] is probably not happy about it, but when you get a kicker that can bail you out, it’s one thing, but the discipline, there is a part of that that we’ve all got to tighten up. And GP [Pickens] knows that, obviously he responded to it, responded to the discipline by the way that he came out, and the intensity he played with and the effort he had. But he’s a special individual, and you said there’s a balance to it.”
On if the duo “opens things up” for a quarterback
“Yeah, no doubt about it. I think they open up things for each other. You get both of those guys and they’re out wide, what coverage are you going to play? When you’re single-high, you’ve got to learn one way or another. You’ve got to pick a receiver to help, so that’s why I say they’re complementary to one another.”
On his emotions coming into the game
“Electric, honestly, especially afterwards. Before the game, business as normal, to be honest. And I give the guys a lot of credit for that. I give the coaches credit, I give the whole organization credit for the resources and discussing these emotions and these feelings throughout the week before they’ve happened. Guys all had a plan, they stuck to their process of pregame, and it showed in the execution during the game. And then after it was a celebration. It’s been a tough week, and to be able to celebrate and smile for a moment, and to know that you went out there and you, like Schotty said, made Marshawn proud and honored him the right way. But this is one week, we want to continue to do that.”
On how they will keep honoring with their schedule of playing three games in 12 days
“Yeah, nice, tough road. And as you just said, Schotty said, the honoring doesn’t stop. And honestly, when the season’s over, the honoring won’t stop. So, it’s about intensifying everything that we do to carry the legacy of Marshawn, and then over these next three games with the opponents coming in and us wanting to get to where we want to go, everything’s just got to heighten, right? The discipline, the focus, the intensity, the aggressiveness, and that’s at practice, and that’ll just carry over into the game. I’ve always said the game’s a celebration of the work that you put in throughout the week. So, we’re looking forward to it. We’re looking forward to it.”
On how he evaluates his game
“Solid. Put the ball in harm’s way once, maybe even twice. Receivers did a good job of knocking it down. Other than that, I was just trying to be a point guard and distribute the ball, get the ball to these guys, let them go do work, and I had a great red zone plan. All but the last two right possessions we scored in the red zone. So, just stick to my reads, sticking to the process of practice and the game plan and allowing these guys to be special, like they are.”
On defensive tackle Quinnen Williams
“I don’t know if there’s words for him. Special individual. From the moment he walked into the building, I’ve got a match in putting the time in taking care of the body. That’s somebody that challenges me and just being a professional and inspires me in everything that he’s doing. The conversations that we’ve had, discussing what he expects out of an offense and the way that he plays, and vice versa. Super impressed with him. Obviously, I’ve known he’s been a dude from playing against him and watching it, but to have him as a teammate now, we’re very, very fortunate. And he’s going to continue to be the man that he is, and he’s raising everybody’s focus intensity. You saw it tonight, and he’s a leader.”
On what helped on the red zone efficiency
“Just the focus update right through the bye week, and having a good plan of understanding what these guys want to do, and how they were going to attack, how we were going to tackle. And I was efficient down there right, and getting into the guys. And they ran good routes. They were speed, they were getting to their spots on time. And when we do that, that should be the result. And obviously, we should have had another one right there at the end, and we’re not complacent with the 3-for-5 or whatever it is. We want to go 5-for-5, and we’re just trying to build, and we’ve got to with the road we have left.”
On seeing linebacker DeMarvion Overshown and cornerback Shavon Revel back on the field
“Special. Overshown is my favorite player. I told him that. His locker is right by mine. I knew he was going to go out and have a great game. It’s just that’s because of the way that he approaches the business each and every day with the same attitude. A hell of a leader, special player. That’s no surprise. He’s really my favorite player. And then Revel is a super excited young player. I had a couple of times of rehabbing with him, but to just see him over these last couple of weeks at practice, watching the way he runs, watch him turn get in out of cuts. He can run, and he’s going to be a great player for us.”
On what “opened up” on the field to let him be the point guard
“We knew we were going to play a team with a lot of spot drop, so it was important for our guys to run, be fast, be at their spots on time, in the right depths. And credit to our receivers and obviously the guys up front giving me a few seconds, and those guys being detailed on where they need to be. And if we can continue to do that, like I said, that’s what we can expect of ourselves.”
On how the defense’s energy helped the offense
“Contagious. That’s what complementary football is about. Going out there, first drive three-and-out, second drive we fumble right there in their own red zone, and for our defense to come out and make a stop and hold them to a field goal, I think that’s where we all took off, right there, seeing the confidence that that gave just the whole group of, ‘Worry about yourself, focus on your job, and we can play complementary football now.’ And tonight was a good example of that.”
On how special the touchdown from Ryan Flournoy was given his relationship with Kneeland
“It was awesome, special. Honestly I didn’t even think about their relationship and how special this was for him. But that’s just a reward for a guy [like Flournoy] who does everything right. Whatever you ask him to do, run, block, break the huddle, and CeeDee says, ‘No, I want that route,’ he goes and plays the other position and does it with such a great attitude, with such grace. One of the best teammates I’ve been around; keeps a positive attitude, stays focused and cares a lot about his teammates, cares a lot about his teammates, and gives it his all each and every day. He’s going to be a big part in carrying that legacy. Marshawn’s legacy, and I know he’s proud and honored to do that, and special for him to get a touchdown.”
On how much he can take from a win like this
“I hope we can take everything out of it honestly. You know, it’s the NFL, and let’s not look at these records and understand that this is an NFL team, and this is more about us. We go in each and every game saying, ‘It’s about us.’ And tonight’s an example of that, it was a dominating win. Sure, I understand that they’re struggling, right? But if we play that way, I don’t care who it is, the score might not be that big, margin might not be that way, but there’s no reason that we can’t be confident and feel like we’re going to come out on top if we can play with that same intensity and effort and complement.”
On what it meant to see all the support for Kneeland
“Yeah, that’s special. Special is one of these moments you realize that this is just a game, and life is what’s important. Our connections, our relationships, what we say to each other, how we can lift each other up, how we can be a helping hand, how we can be a true neighbor, a true brother, a true sister, and love one another. One love like Marshawn lived by, that’s awesome. Didn’t realize the Raiders were doing that. Obviously, I know the crowd was, I saw a bunch of the signs, and that’s what it’s about. That’s what makes life beautiful. And hopefully we’d all continue to look at our neighbors, look at ourselves, and ask, how can we be better? How can we help better them? And just a moment, like I said, to understand that it’s much bigger than this game, it’s about life.”
On the meaning behind the “one love” on his wristband
“Yeah, I mean, I’ve had ‘ask for help’ on there for majority of the games, since I’ve been writing on it, and sometimes change up, right, the message, and it was just the right message tonight, not only in honor of Marshawn, but as I was just iterating it’s one love, like we get one life, right? We all do, and we are responsible of being the best neighbor to the person next to us and giving them everything that they need in life that we’re capable of giving. And so, yeah, to just show the world one love, and just to try to go out there and play focused and allow my play and my focus and my relationship with my teammates to hopefully be an example of that.”
On how this win can help propel them on a winning streak
“Yeah, why not? And I know I’ve been saying that, I’ll probably keep saying that, why not. And it’s more about we’re in control, right? We’re in control, and life’s going to throw things at us, and it threw us a hell of a curveball this past week. And how are we going to respond? That’s what I was telling the team, right? To have a testimony we’ve got to go through a test. And this is a big test to our brotherhood and who we are, and to this organization, to us individually. Let’s have pride and let’s honor our brother. And if we can continue to do that, move forward carrying that light and play the way that we did tonight, why not?”
On the tribute ceremony he got at his high school
“Yeah, that was special. It was a hard day. It was the same day that we lost Marshawn. So it was a very whirlwind of emotions. Yeah, it was a tough day. I don’t know if my emotions and mind was there even enough to enjoy it quite the way that I wanted to, but I can’t tell you how appreciative I am of my high school and where I’m from and talking about carrying things on. I am from Haughton, Louisiana, and I am Haughton, as I told them. And wherever I go, they go with me. And so, super proud to be where I’m from. Super thankful to be able to give back and to be in this position and hopefully to inspire a bunch of kids there on the field now, being Prescott Field. And it’s not just honoring me, that’s honoring my mother, who put so much into the community by loving her boys and allowing her boys to go forward and to shine lights. Then my brother as well, both of my brothers, who were great athletes, who inspired me and made me the athlete that I am, to even get us to this position.”
On the extra effort plays shown tonight can help define them moving forward
“Yeah, that’s the winning plays. Those are the winning plays, not the highlights, right? Everybody sees that, but it’s that behind the scene, the third-and-10 that, you know, you get an 8- or 9-yard completion and put you in position, right, to go forward, which we did and and got the touchdown. Especially to a player like that, right? Hunter [Luepke], who does everything right, doesn’t get a lot of shines, not getting all the notoriety, does all the dirty work going, does anything you ask him to do. That’s what’s going to make this group special is those type of plays as we move forward and if we want to accomplish what we want to in these next few games to finish up.”
On the importance of speaking up about your mental health
“Yeah, I mean that’s being vulnerable. It’s not necessarily being weak. And to have courage or to show strength, there has to be that counter of that, right? There has to be that moment of vulnerability. It has to be that moment of weakness for you to even exemplify your courage or exemplify your braveness and how strong you can be. There has to be adversity to overcome. So, with that being said, it’s not, it’s real. We all go through, we all have foreign thoughts, and not all of us are capable and strong enough to counteract those thoughts and understand that they are foreign, right? That makes us feel different, then puts us in different moods, and I think that’s the most important part, is being aware of who you are and your moods and your daily acts. Not everybody understands that. When you get in those down moments, those depressed moments, it’s not about talking, and that’s what I’ve said earlier. It’s about being a good neighbor. And as a neighbor, sometimes we ask, how are you doing? You get a ‘good’ back. I think we should ask deeper sometimes, right? If you ask two or three times and that person says, ‘Good,’ well then, they’re cheating you. And you know that you have that responsibility too, of opening up. So we just got to have more conversations and talk. When you do that, as I told the local media, right, earlier this week, you’re just emptying out your cup. The more that you can help fill someone else’s cup.”
On what he did mentally to get an explosive second quarter
“I didn’t go anywhere when that happened. I stayed focused. I understand it’s football plays like that are going to happen. They had a better play than we had right there. They got a hell of a player, Maxx Crosby, who can rush. And trying to throw the ball away, he gets his hand on the football, back and forth, comes forward, and great play by them. But as I said, to watch our defense go out there and to hold them to a field goal, not allowing them to score a touchdown wasn’t just rejuvenating to me, I think, just to everybody and we fed off of that. But I’m not going to lose focus off of one negative play, off of a couple negative plays. This game is long, and each play has enough responsibility in itself, so I just like to focus one at a time and give my best.”

We’re about to enter our third week of what feels like a never-ending contract dispute between Disney and YouTube TV that has left YouTube TV customers without access to over 20 Disney-owned channels. Reports estimate that Disney is losing $4.3 million per day during the blackout, you you would think they’d like to resolve the situation quickly, but Disney CFO Hugh Johnston stated ominously earlier this week, “We’re ready to go as long as they want to.” On the up side, YouTube TV has finally started issuing $20 credits to customers as consolation for their troubles, but will that be enough to keep their base from jumping ship and finding a new streaming service? As a reminder of how we got here, the Walt Disney Co. pulled its channels from YouTube TV on Oct. 30 after the two companies failed to reach new terms on their latest carriage agreement, and YouTube TV subscribers have gone without NFL, NBA and NCAA games on ABC and ESPN’s suite of channels for two full weeks. With no agreement in sight, YouTube TV subscribers will be left in the dark for this weekend’s NCAA football games, and possibly Monday Night Football, too.
With huge conference matchups like Texas vs. Georgia and Oklahoma vs. Alabama on ABC and Florida vs. Ole Miss on ESPN this Saturday,, you’ll need to seek out alternative viewing methods if you rely on YouTube TV for those channels. And unfortunately for YouTube TV’s negotiating position, there are plenty of options.
One of the cheapest ways to watch ESPN is with a Sling Day Pass — for just $5/day, you can tune into any and all ESPN programming with no other commitments. If you want a full switch from YouTube TV, there’s Hulu + Live TV, DirecTV, or Fubo, where you can watch all the Disney-owned channels. (Remember, unlike a lot of cable plans, you can easily pause or cancel YouTube TV or any of these alternatives, so long as you have month-to-month subscriptions.) Below, we’ve outlined some of your best options to watch ESPN, the Disney Channel, ABC and more, all pulled from our list of best live TV streaming services to cut cable, as well as a comprehensive list of which channels have been affected, and the biggest sporting events of the week that won’t be available to YouTube TV subscribers.
What games are on ESPN/ABC this week?
If you’re wondering what games you might miss as a result of the YouTube TV/Disney blackout, here’s a list of some upcoming sports you may not want to miss:

Grab an ESPN bundle so you won’t miss the NFL, NBA or any other games
For $29.99, the ESPN unlimited package includes access to all of ESPN’s linear networks: ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, SECN, ACCN, ESPNews and ESPN Deportes, plus access to programming on ABC, ESPN+ content, ESPN3, SECN+ and ACCNX. That means fans will get coverage of more than 47,000 live events each year, on-demand replays, original programming and more so you won’t miss a single Monday Night Football game or any weekend college football game on ABC or ESPN’s suite of channels. Plus, you can watch your favorite ABC shows the day after they air.
Right now, for a limited time, you can bundle ESPN unlimited with Disney+ and Hulu and pay $29.99/month for 12 months — that’s like getting those other services free for a year. Even if you’re a current subscriber to Disney+, Hulu or even the bundle, you can still upgrade to this great deal.
Hulu’s live TV tier includes access to live TV channels like ESPN, ABC, NBC, Fox, and access to Disney+ and ESPN select. For a limited time, you can get a hefty discount on the service for 3 months. New and eligible returning subscribers (those who have not been Hulu subscribers in the past month) can sign up for Hulu + Live TV (with ads) for $64.99/month for their first three months. This is an especially great value considering that Hulu and Disney+ increased their prices on Oct. 21.
You’ll also enjoy access to unlimited DVR storage, the ability to stream on multiple devices and more. This special rate ends at 6 p.m. ET/3 p.m. PT on Nov. 18.
After the three-month trial period, your subscription will continue at the regular market rate of $89.99, but if you’re looking for an alternative to YouTube TV, now’s the perfect time to take advantage of this deal. (If the YouTube situation is resolved before the weekend is up, you can also just sign up for a 3-day trial of Hulu + Live TV).
Try Fubo free for a week and get $30 your first month
If you’re looking for a stopgap so you won’t miss any major games or shows this weekend, Fubo is offering a free 7-day trial so you can check out everything the platform has to offer, risk-free, and on top of that, you can get $30 off your first month.
Fubo TV gives you access to ESPN, Fox, ABC, CBS, NFL Network, and 100+ more live channels. At $80/month, the live TV streaming service is definitely a big investment but it’s one of the most comprehensive ways to watch live TV including the new NCAA season, the NFL, MLB and more, and still leaves you with major savings compared to a traditional cable package. Fubo subscribers also get 1,000 hours of cloud DVR storage.
Try DirecTV free for 5 days, and get $30 off your first month
DirecTV offers loads of great live channels, which means you can watch thousands of live sporting events, live TV and more with a regular subscription. And right now, for a limited time, you can get a $20 bill credit off your first month when you sign up, plus at least $10 more off per month for your first 24 months with a DirecTV Choice, Ultimate or Premier package — that’s over $250 in savings. You can find information on every package here.
Right now you can also get a free 5-day trial to test out the platform.
You may have heard that Sling offers day, weekend and week passes to its streaming programming for as little as $5 per day. That is an option if you’re looking for just some of the ESPN channels (the Sling Orange tier), but ABC isn’t included. (If you’re just looking to catch one of this week’s big games, like Monday Night Football on ESPN, it’s a great short-term solution.) If you want a longer-term solution, you can get both ESPN and ABC with Sling’s Orange and Blue package ($30 a month to start, $61 thereafter), but you’ll need to add on the Sports Extra package for ESPNU, which requires an additional charge.
Get your local Disney/ABC programming for free
Need your local ABC programming? Your station may have its own free local streaming news channel (many do), you can see if The Roku Channel carries your local station’s news, or download your local news station app if it’s a Nexstar channel.
The other alternative — if you’re within the broadcast radius of a local ABC affiliate — is to get an over-the-air antenna. You can plug in your ZIP code at antennaweb.org to see what channels are in your area. This off-brand unit has worked very well in our initial testing — it’s under $30, and the channels are truly free.

After the Eagles barely made it out with a victory in Green Bay Monday Night. It was time to start preparing for another PrimeTime spotlight against the Eagles 3rd NFC North opponent of the year.
The Detroit Lions
Sundays match against Detroit will be the 2nd time the Sirianni/Hurts led Eagles will play the Campbell/Goff Lions. Previously, the Eagles won both matchups that took place at Ford Field. Winning 44-6 in 2021, and 38-35 in 2023.
And while this matchup won’t have nearly as much excitement as the NFC Championship Game that could have been last year. The winner and loser of this game could see a huge impact on playoff seeding within the next 5-6 Weeks.
The Cluttered NFC Race
Luckily for the Eagles. The NFC East is the only division that isn’t filled with multiple contenders, or teams just outside the wildcard bubble. Like the 49ers(6-4), Panthers(5-5) & Vikings(4-5). However, with two games left against NFC North opponents. The Eagles will be able to pull ahead in the division, and from the rest of the NFC.
Already having victories against the Rams(7-2), Buccaneers(6-3) and Packers(5-3-1) currently gives the Eagles the head to head tiebreaker against the current 5th, 4th and 7th seed in the NFC playoff race. While the odds of the Eagles dropping into a wildcard spot are low with a 4 game lead on the NFC East race. It has happened before. Being able to chain together wins during the toughest stretches of the schedule will help the Eagles lock up the division race as fast as possible, while still being in the thick of it for the Bye Week, or as much home field advantage as possible in the playoffs.
Schedule Down The Stretch
Following the Lions this weekend, the Eagles will see a total of three more teams in the current playoff picture, including:
6-3 Bears (Week 13)
7-3 Chargers (Week 15)
6-3 Bills (Week 17)
There will also be a gutsy game against the 3-5-1 Cowboys, who for some reason decided to be buyers at the deadline. Acquiring Quinnen Williams and Logan Wilson.
With some more breathing room between playoff opponents, the Eagles will also see the following teams who’s season is approaching an ugly finish:
2-7 Raiders (Week 15)
3-7 Commanders (Week 16 & 18)
Both teams will most likely be playing for a top 5-10 pick come December. The wins might not matter that late for the Eagles depending how the rest of this “gauntlet” unfolds.
With an impressive 7-2 run to start the season. How many wins will it take to clinch the NFC East?
After all, the orange and blue went 2-0 over the last seven days to extend Denver’s lead atop the AFC West with an 8-2 record. The Broncos set up a showdown with the Chiefs (5-4) at Empower Field on Nov. 16 that could officially end the Mahomes-Reid stranglehold on the division.
It’s how they got there. A victory over the Texans (18-15) was due to a brilliant defense and a very timely injury to Houston quarterback C.J. Stroud. A win over the Raiders (10-7) on Thursday night was an exercise in sheer agony. Brilliant defense again, but mostly agony.
Payton insisted midweek that he had everything he needed inside Broncos Park Powered by CommonSpirit. Against Vegas, his offense showed him otherwise.
Several reports over the last few weeks had the Broncos sniffing around at offensive additions, primarily at wide receiver. Denver was allegedly a suitor for New Orleans wideout Rashid Shaheed, only to be pipped by the Seahawks.
NFL reporter Jordan Schultz then claimed the Broncos reached out to the Dolphins to inquire about Shaheed clone Jaylen Waddle, only to find the reported asking price — a first-round draft pick, at the least — to be too steep.
Considering the Colts (7-2) coughed up two first-round picks to free star cornerback Sauce Gardner from the Jets, it puzzled the kids in the GTW offices why the Broncos wouldn’t consider a corresponding move in kind. Nix will only be on a rookie contract for so long, and the Broncos’ cap situation improves significantly in 2026.
Waddle would be an upgrade over Troy Franklin. But we’re not sure he’d be a significant improvement over Marvin Mims Jr., assuming the latter is good to go. And it would be a waste of a first-rounder to land a guy that Sean Payton would likely just be asking to block on screens anyway.
DePodesta is a Rockie! — C
The GTW gang is torn on this one. We’re mildly and pleasantly surprised that Rockies CEO Dick Monfort hired a director of baseball operations from a) outside the organization; and b) outside his genetic family tree. Baby steps, after all, are still steps.
That said, Paul DePodesta coming to Colorado is, if not straight outta left field, at least from the gap in left-center.
DePodesta was at the forefront of the analytics movement in baseball, although that forefront was multiple decades ago – the “Peter Brand” character in the movie “Moneyball” was based on DePodesta and his work with Billy Beane.
Not Peter Brand also hasn’t worked for a baseball club in 10 years. During that aforementioned decade, he was pulling strings behind the scenes with the Cleveland Browns, who might be the NFL’s equivalent of the Rockies in terms of dysfunction. With the Browns, he was part of the trade that brought Deshaun Watson to Cleveland for six draft picks — six! — and then agreed to ink Watson to a five-year, $230-million deal. Which panned out for the Browns even worse than that trade-and-sign with Russell Wilson worked for the Broncos.
We’ll try to keep an open mind, here, although we can’t shake the feeling that Monfort thought he was actually hiring actor Jonah Hill, who played Brand in “Moneyball.” Although if Paul can somehow get Kris Bryant off the books, he’ll already be a 70% improvement over Bill Schmidt.
