  • The Next Big Las Vegas Sphere Residencies • This Week in Gambling

    Las Vegas Sphere has already welcomed some big-name performers, including the Eagles, Kenny Chesney, and U2. Now, rumors are flying, and everyone wants to know: Who will headline the next Sphere residency?! Well, the Sphere does not confirm new residencies until the ink on the contracts is dry, but that doesn’t stop folks from talking about them. And from local news outlets to the national media and even among some music industry insiders, several big names are being tossed around as possibly being the next headline acts.

    We begin with the bands rumored to be considering a run at the Sphere, including names like Depeche Mode, classic rock and roll bands Kiss and Genesis, and even the legendary Roger Waters. These names have appeared on some blog posts around the web, but there seems to be almost zero chance they will actually get to perform there. Then there were rumors of pop sensation Ed Sheeran, who wore Sphere branded glasses during his Las Vegas show a few years ago and promised to see fans again in 2026. While he will perform in Sin City this summer, that will be at Allegiant Stadium and not the Las Vegas Sphere. Other rumors included Beyonce, who actually used images of the Sphere during her Las Vegas show just last year. However, a cease and desist order put a quick end to that as well as most of the talk surrounding her getting a residency.

    That brings us to Guns and Roses. While there’s been no official word from either side about a residency, Slash said the band had no intention of performing there. Following a conversation with the Eagles last year, Slash stated that he believes the venue might not be rock and roll friendly. So, while we cannot rule out a residency from one of these performers at some point in the future, we can say that for this year at least, they are probably more hope than reality.

    But before we look at the performers who are likely to get the next Las Vegas Sphere residency, here’s a quick look at the artist already performing there from now through this summer, including who else but the Eagles from next month into April. But we all know that could be extended yet again. Plus, the much anticipated No Doubt residency is coming in early May. Later in the year, it will be country sensation Kenny Chesney, who returns after his 15 show residency at the Sphere last June and July, along with another appearance from the Backstreet Boys.

    Now we turn our attention to those big name bands who many believe are likely to be the next residencies at the Sphere. Bands who have been mentioned in several conversations and who are actively in talks about playing there. And first up, it’s none other than Queen with lead singer Adam Lambert. The band is in discussions with the Las Vegas Sphere and members have stated that they would prefer a residency over another tour. Guitarist Brian May stated that after watching the Eagles perform, he was keen on the Sphere, stating how much he would like to play there.

    Next, it’s Tool, who many believe would be a great fit for the venue since the band already incorporates visual imagery into their shows. The 360 degree canvas could play into their immersive productions and the band is officially in talks with the Sphere about a residency to possibly coincide with a new musical release. And finally this week we come to Metallica. Rolling Stone stated that their fan base spectacle and energy would make them an obvious contender. adding their heavy visuals and show production could be amazing in a fully immersive environment. And the best part, rumors are that negotiations between the band and the Las Vegas Sphere are done and that the deal has been finalized.

  • Las Vegas Concerts You Can’t Miss in 2026 • This Week in Gambling

    Las Vegas concerts are about to turn the volume all the way up! Huge shows, legendary residencies, and superstar artists are headed to Sin City in the first half of this year! And we’re covering the performers headed to Sin City over the first half of the year… beginning right here in January with one of the biggest names in country music: Blake Shelton at Caesar’s Palace for eight shows beginning on the 15th. The Eagles residency is scheduled to end in March, but you can still catch them at the Sphere starting on the 23rd. Other performers hitting the Strip in January include Mr. Las Vegas himself, Wayne Newton, and New Edition performing with Boys II Men on stage at T-Mobile Arena January 30th.

    February’s headliners include Chris Stapleton, who will perform two shows at Park MGM on the 4th and 5th, plus the quintessential Boy Band, New Kids on the Block. Also at Park MGM from the 14th through the 28th. Vegas regulars Donnie Osmond and Barry Manillow will be at Harrah’s and the Westgate, respectively. And Backstreet Boys will be back at the Sphere from the 5th to the 15th. Plus classic rock icons Chicago hit the Venetian February 13th through the 28th.

    Now despite rumors floating around on social media about Harry Styles and Madonna, there are no confirmations that either will perform in Las Vegas this year.  Madonna is interested in a farewell tour which could include Sin City, but officials for Harry Styles say there are no plans for a Vegas stop and there never were. However, Metallica is finishing a European tour, and rumors of their residency at the Sphere do have some truth to them. The band is interested, but any residency would have to be scheduled for the fall, which is part of the reason why this video is only covering the first six months of the year because a lot of shows are going to be added between now and July.

    So, moving into March, Jennifer Lopez is returning for a short 3-w week stay at Caesars from the 6th through the 28th, while Luke Comb will pack him in at Allegiance Stadium on the 21st of the month. Also, Alice Cooper will play Planet Hollywood while Foreigner performs at Venetian. And the Eagles last shows are scheduled for March 20th through the 28th, although we all know they may stay longer.

    Turning our attention to April, Phish helped open the Sphere two years ago and they return for a nine show set on the 17th. April is also when most of the Las Vegas regulars return to their regular venues. Plus, the ageless Cyndi Lauper is still having fun, and she’ll be at Caesars April 24th through the 29th. Also, some of the musical artists headed to town in May and June include No Doubt and Kenny Chesney. But before we get to those events, here’s a reminder that we’re only covering the first 6 months of 2026. But right now, I can tell you that Ed Sheeran is also slated for July, as are other big name performers, including AC/DC and Guns and Roses, both of whom will perform at Allegiance Stadium this August, followed by the Foo Fighters in September… so stay tuned!

    Finally this week, we’ve saved some of the biggest names and best performers for last as we enter the month of May with Morgan Wallen, who will play two shows in Las Vegas on the 1st and 2nd, both of which are selling out quickly. And as promised, No Doubt will settle in for their sphere residency starting on the 6th. But before they can hit the stage, Phish will have to close out their short residency. May will also find old school artists like Babyface at the Palms and Santana at Mandalay Bay, while Rod Stewart finally reopens his Encore Shows residency at Caesars on the 27th.

    Rounding out our show with the month of June, Kenny Chesney will perform a short five show run at the Sphere June 19th through the 27th and no doubt continues their Vegas stay wrapping up their residency June 13th.     We are at the end of August and Autumn is closing in. Before everything turns into a pumpkin spiced nightmare, let’s take a look at the Las Vegas concerts and residencies headed to the Nevada desert this Fall. Huge concerts and major new residencies are headed to town, just as some current residencies are shutting down. Who’s headed to Sin City? And who is packing up to leave?

    When it comes to music, sin City is hard to beat. This week in gambling, we’re looking at over 40 amazing artists headed to town between now and the end of December. We’re listing them by month so you can schedule your get. Or if Las Vegas is already in your travel plans, you can just use the chapters we’ve added to this video and skip ahead to find the dates you’ll be visiting. So let’s kick off our fall preview by closing out the last days of summer in September, as Bruno Mars continues his run at Park MGM, and a rare Rob Thomas sighting takes place at Fontainebleau. Of course, the Eagles are still putting butts in seats at the Sphere as well.

    The fall Las Vegas concerts continue as David Lee Roth comes out of hiding also at Fontainebleau while Janet Jackson performs at Resorts World, and Pitbull visits Big Blue near the middle of the month. Ricky Martin is still around and playing Caesar’s Palace as the legendary Ringo Star officially brings in fall at Venetian (but he’s not the only Beatle headed to town!). Crowd favorite Tears for Fears returns to Fontainebleau,  while Rod Stewart returns to Caesar’s and classic acoustic rockers America perform one night at Virgin Las Vegas. Finally, John Legend performs at the Cosmo on the 26th, followed by the strokes on the 27th. And speaking of Legends, The Who will visit MGM Grand to close out the month.  That’s a lot of talent for the month of September… but not even close to the volume of talent headed for Sin City in October!

    First up, after taking a couple of weeks off, Mötley Crüe will return for three more shows from the first to the third, as the Beach Boys hit the Venetian. All while Rod Stewart and Wayne Newton continue their residencies. Lionel Richie will play Wynn Las Vegas as soft rock sensation Air Supply performs at the Westgate. Then the ultimate rock and roll legend, Paul McCartney, will take the stage for one night only at Allegiant Stadium on the fourth. Grand Funk Railroad will be at the Golden Nugget, and the high energy music of Earth, Wind, and Fire will light up Venetian!

    Then, Stevie Nicks hits T-Mobile Arena while Alanis Morissette visit Caesar’s Palace. Popular eighties band Tesla (and their hair) will perform their Las Vegas concerts at Mandalay Bay. Chance the Rapper thrills crowds at Fontainebleau, and Tears for Fears is back for a few more shows. We close out October with that blue-eyed soul singer, Darryl Hall at Venetian… along with classic rock artists, Jackson Brown and that little old band from Texas, ZZ Top, Rocks the Palms on Halloween!

    Now, on to November and the Eagle’s last show on the 8th at Sphere Las Vegas… supposedly, because they just keep adding new shows. So take this end date for what it’s worth. Additionally, their buddy Jackson Browne will return to Venetian the first week of the month, as Park MGM hosts New Kids on the Block. Alanis Morrisette is still angry and back at Caesar’s on the second. Wayne and Donnie keep rolling right along. And Country star Kelly Clarkson opens the Coliseum at Caesar’s on the seventh.  Then classic rocker’s Heart come to town in mid-November, performing at Fontainebleau, followed by Pitbull November 21st and 22nd.

    Heading into December, the National Finals Rodeo will bring country editions of Las Vegas concerts to town, including legend Dolly Parton to Caesar’s Palace in a week of music that also includes Wynonna Judd at the Venetian, and Laney Wilson at MGM Grand. Of course, Wayne Newton will continue his shows all month long, and guitar phenomenon Santana will fill the House of Blues at Mandalay Bay from the 5th to the 16th.  Now technically, fall ends on December 21st. But it seems silly to stop there with only a few days left in the year.  So we close out 2025 with the Backstreet Boys, as they return to the Sphere after a four month break to finish what they started with shows from Christmas through New Years. And speaking of things to do for New Year’s Eve, Jennifer Lopez closes us out playing Caesar’s Palace December 30th and 31st.

    Amazing events, new performers, concerts, sporting events and more are headed to Las Vegas in 2024! Plus, new plans for the Mirage Volcano and a new residency at the Las Vegas Sphere! As we head into 2024, what will happen with Dream Las Vegas? Will the Mirage Volcano be torn down? When will the new baseball team start playing? And whatever happened to the Harlem Nights Resort?

    Hello my friends! And welcome to our very first show of the year with all the amazing stuff headed to Las Vegas in 2024! And just like us, the Mirage Volcano has returned for the New Year! The question is: For how long? Plus, who’s going to follow U2 in residency at the Las Vegas Sphere? But first, this week’s big story is all the amazing stuff headed for Sin City in 2024. From concerts to new casinos to sporting events… and there’s no sporting event bigger in America than the Super Bowl!

    Taking place in about a month’s time at Allegiance Stadium, tickets are still available and they cost about as much as a nice used car. Of course, football isn’t the only game in town. Las Vegas is getting a baseball team as well, but not this year. Construction of a new big league ballpark won’t begin until 2025, but that means, my friends, that the Tropicana could shut its door at some point this year.

    And speaking of the Tropicana, and all Las Vegas resorts, it seems like there’s always another one on the way. Las Vegas in 2024 will be no different, but as for now construction has yet to begin for the new Tillman Fertitta casino project, located on the Strip across from Aria, permits have been filed but a couple of months ago a spokesperson for the company said that there were no new updates to share.

    Then there’s the Harlem Nights project, located near downtown on the historic West Side of Las Vegas. Now the owners have changed the name of the proposed resort from Harlem Nights to simply… the Westside. However, city planners have yet to approve any plans for the 30 story high rise.

    Next, there’s the stalled Dream Las Vegas project, located near the airport, which is in the process of  securing more financing. The hope is to get construction back on track this year, with an anticipated opening date sometime in 2025. Of course, no discussion about Las Vegas resorts would be complete without mentioning The Mirage.

    As most of you know, the Mirage was sold to Hard Rock a while back, and their plan is to transition the Mirage into the Hard Rock at some point this year… or… sometime. But the big news is what they plan to do with the Volcano attraction this month into next!

    But first, who’s going to replace U2 when their residency at the Las Vegas Sphere ends this spring? How about some Phish? Yes, when legendary rockers U2 leave the Sphere in early March, Phish will move in to perform four shows, from April 18th through the 21st, and tickets are already on sale!

    And finally this week, as most of you already know, the beloved Mirage Volcano will be ripped out at some point this year so that it can be replaced by the new Hard Rock guitar-shaped Hotel. What you may not know, however, is what they plan to do with the Mirage Volcano the week of the Super Bowl at Allegiant Stadium Las Vegas in 2024! Before we say goodbye to the beloved attraction it will become the Mountain of Entertainment… a fan focused, snow covered venue featuring content from shows on the Paramount Network like Yellowstone and the Transformers.

    If you’re wondering why why the hell they’re doing this, you’re not alone. As we discussed at the beginning of this program, the Super Bowl will be played in Las Vegas this year, and the game will be carried on the CBS television network. And the CBS television network is owned by Paramount, and Paramount’s logo is… well, a mountain. A bit labored, but they made it work.
