  • I Was on a Shopping Hiatus Until I Came Across These Chic Accessories

I Was on a Shopping Hiatus Until I Came Across These Chic Accessories

    [ad_1]

As a shopping editor, I use my expertise to put together an edit of seasonal must-haves each winter. My typical list will include everything from cozy cashmere knits to the perfect heel for holiday parties, and I can always count on the new-in sections of retailers to come through. But this season, the endless scrolling started to give me fashion fatigue, and that made it hard to find pieces that really excited me.

That was until I landed at Bloomingdale’s. For the past week, I haven’t been able to stop thinking about the retailer’s selection of luxury accessories (particularly the trendy mesh slingbacks from Jimmy Choo and a pair of vintage-style sunglasses that’s just begging to go on vacation with me). These pieces have put the thrill back into my shopping experience, and I’m ever so grateful. Keep scrolling for all the items that I can’t get off my mind.

  • The Tantalizingly Pretty Shoe Trend Fashion People Are Losing It Over This Fall

The Tantalizingly Pretty Shoe Trend Fashion People Are Losing It Over This Fall

    [ad_1]

After fashion month, it’s pretty much commonplace that everything floating around the style side of Instagram and TikTok is dangerously pretty. From handbags to jewelry items to dresses, the content that came out of September’s shows and street style is designed to tantalize and make you want to buy things. It’s as simple as that. One thing that no fashion person I’ve met is capable of resisting at the moment is a pair of kitten-heel pumps à la Prada (yes, I’m talking about the Bunny Floras), The Row, and more.

If you somehow haven’t noticed them yet, go back through a few of your favorite fashion people’s Instagram feeds from the last—I don’t know—three months. I guarantee you’ll spot at least one pair of one-inch-tall pumps of some form, whether it’s a super-classic pair like the ones women in the ’50s and ’60s wore with circle skirts and matching opera coats (or was that only in The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel?) or modern slingbacks with various embellishments, like tiny crystals, bite-size buckles, and toe rings. Whatever you find, I already know it’ll be gorgeous and impossible to avoid buying. That’s practically a given when it comes to this trend.

Below, shop the shoe style that has every person in fashion searching for whatever’s left in stock in their size.

  • 7 Things Everyone Is Wearing With Fall’s Biggest Heel Trend

7 Things Everyone Is Wearing With Fall’s Biggest Heel Trend

    [ad_1]

If you’re team flats and the sound of a heel trend makes you shudder, I have some good news for you. The biggest heel trend of the season is, undoubtedly, kitten heels. Kitten heels are low-heeled shoes that are typically around two inches (give or take), which makes them the most walkable stilettos you can buy.

The elegant heel trend makes whatever you’re wearing look instantly polished (yes, even sweatpants and baggy jeans), but there are certain items people are pairing with kitten heels as of late. These specific items make the old-school shoe style look incredibly fresh. I did my fashion-editor duty and rounded those items up to offer you some fresh styling inspiration for the kitten heels in your life. Scroll on to shop the kitten heel–friendly items along with some of my favorite pairs of low-heeled stilettos on the market.

If you’re anything like me and my fellow Who What Wear editors, you’re always on the hunt for ways to make your outfits look more expensive. My denim-outfit rotation has been in dire need of this kind of boost, and I recently noticed a trend bubbling up that will do the trick without any heavy lifting. It all revolves around a chic and easy styling tip that requires three key pieces: the jeans of your choice, a pair of sheer black tights or black socks, and a sleek pair of black shoes that allows the socks to be seen. I know it sounds simple, but it makes a tremendous impact.

To put it in perspective, I set out to find some visual inspiration where this styling tip is at play, and sure enough, each ensemble I came across is elevated with a designer feel as a result. Keep scrolling to check out 15 chic fall looks that incorporate jeans with stylish black socks and shoes for the ultimate expensive-looking denim outfit.

  • I Saw These 29 Kitten Heels While Scrolling and Immediately Added Them to Cart

I Saw These 29 Kitten Heels While Scrolling and Immediately Added Them to Cart

    [ad_1]

Our society has quickly pivoted from heels to flats. While the years circling 2016 revolved around sky-high Louboutin heels, 2023 has been all about comfort first. It may be the years we spent at home or a shift toward a more practical lifestyle, but it’s been hard for me to give up on all the amazing high heels I own. So, I slip into kitten heels over and over again because I feel like they’re the perfect in-between.

Besides their practicality, I love kitten heels because of how flattering they are. The slight lift that they give your legs will make them look way longer than they are. I’ve counted on them time and time again to give me that “Barbie” moment. Below, find the 29 styles that currently have my heart.

  • Fashion People in New York and Paris Wear These Kitten Heel Outfits on Repeat

Fashion People in New York and Paris Wear These Kitten Heel Outfits on Repeat

    [ad_1]

I know a lot of Parisians and New Yorkers who are tied to the idea of wearing a pair of heels. No matter how many steps are required in the busy day they have ahead, they’ll find a way to add some glamour to their outfit. That’s why kitten heels come in handy. In these busy and bustling cities, they’re basically required. A casual night out in New York or Paris might mean shuffling from one neighborhood to the other by foot, and a work day for me often requires multiple stops throughout the city.

Outfit formulas are nothing new to New Yorkers and Parisians who live for simplicity and effortlessness in their wardrobes. There are a few outfits that I’ve seen pair well with kitten heels on repeat since the weather warmed up, so I decided to compile them here for your viewing pleasure. Below, find the 10 kitten heels outfits that I highly suggest wearing this summer.

  • Hailey Bieber Wore the Elegant Low-Heel Shoe Trend That Looks Chic With Jeans

Hailey Bieber Wore the Elegant Low-Heel Shoe Trend That Looks Chic With Jeans

    [ad_1]

If you’re a fan of jeans but not a fan of sky-high heels, you’ve clicked on the right story. Hailey Bieber just wore a low-key outfit you’ll love—I know I did, and I identify as a jeans fan who likes low heels. While out and about in Los Angeles earlier this week, Bieber wore a cropped white T-shirt, mid-rise jeans, and a classic belt. She paired her simple outfit with one of the chicest and most elegant shoe trends around: kitten-heel mules.

While kitten-heel mules have been a thing for years, they’re as relevant and trendy as ever. Bieber opted for a square-toe croc-embossed pair by Jil Sander she’ll surely get years of wear from. The 2-inch heels are the perfect complement to her ankle-length straight-leg jeans. I don’t know about you, but I’m inspired to order a fresh pair of kitten-heel mules for myself. Scroll for a few of my favorite contenders, including Bieber’s splurge-worthy designer pair.

  • Okay, These Flat and Low-Heel Shoes From Nordstrom, Mango, and Zara Are Fire

Okay, These Flat and Low-Heel Shoes From Nordstrom, Mango, and Zara Are Fire

    [ad_1]

When it comes to my daily footwear, I’ve always preferred flats or low-heel shoes. Not that I have anything against high-heels, but considering I’m a born-and-bred California girl, the ease and comfort of a flat or low-heel just seems to agree with me on a fundamental level. High heels, in my humble opinion, are to be reserved for special occasions or a night when I’m feeling extra flirty. The numerous stylish flat offerings and resurgence of the kitten heel in recent years (I’m looking at you Manolo Maysales) has only helped my case.

On top of that, the right flats or low-heel has a kind of understated elegance that’s hard for a higher heel to compete with. I’ll never forget seeing a woman walk into a wedding in a breezy, floor length gown with simple sandals on her feet and thinking that she was by far the chicest person in the room. Suffice to say, I’ve done a lot of research recently on the best flats and low-heels out there. My biggest issue? Putting a cap on my finds, which Nordstrom, Zara, and Mango aren’t helping with. They’ve really been killing it with their flat and low-heel shoes selection, so I’ve rounded up my favorite 30 picks, just for you, dear reader, below.

21 Pairs of Kitten Heels Your Chic Grandma Would Approve of

    [ad_1]

Though they tend to fall in and out of favor, kitten heels are queen.

Of all the heels you can wear, they rank high in comfort and versatility and give a slight boost in stature without the infamous pain of stilettos. The style options are also endless: These tiny-but-mighty shoes have been worn with wildly opposed aesthetics, from summer maxi dresses to colorful ’80s-inspired windbreakers to newly-trending “motorcore” looks. They’ve also stood the test of time, with celebrities like Audrey Hepburn wearing them in the 1960s, Princess Diana sporting them in the late ’90s and Chanel sending them down the Fall 2023 runway.
