Kate Garraway had her fans piling the compliments high after she dressed up as “naughty” Sandy from Grease.
The TV presenter, 58, is famous for her stylish and smart outfit choices, when hosting shows such as GMB and Lorraine.
This week, though, Kate decided to switch things up completely as she transformed into Sandy from Grease. And it’s fair to say fans couldn’t get enough of her look….

On Friday (October 10), Kate took to her Instagram and shared a video of her looking sensational in a Sandy costume.
Kate had transformed into the iconic character as part of a charity day at her Smooth Radio office for Global’s Make Some Noise charity, in a bid to raise some money.
Mum-of-two Kate opted to go for a “naughty” Sandy costume – the one she wears at the end of the film – and it’s fair to say she looked incredible in the outfit, rocking a skin-tight black catsuit that showed off her fabulous figure.
She teamed the number with a belt, a pair of red heels and a leather jacket, adorned with a badge of the Grease logo.
Looking the part, Kate transformed her hair too, swapping her straight locks for tight curly waves that bounced around her face.
Why did Kate dress up?
Kate – who is currently appearing on the Celebrity Traitors – told her fans in the video: “This is just a normal day in the Smooth Radio office and I’m dressed as naughty Sandy from Grease.”
She added: “It’s all for a good cause. This is our charity day, Global’s Make Some Noise, where we raise as much money as possible for people who are facing the toughest challenges of their lives.”
Meanwhile, in the caption, Kate said: “Today is @globals_make_some_noise day here @smoothradio where we all have fun dressing up to raise money aiming to ensure no one has to face life’s toughest challenges alone. Thank you so much to all who have donated so far.”

Kate’s fans left swooning
As expected, Kate’s fans went wild in the comments section and gushed over the TV star. One person wrote: “What a lovely figure Kate.”
Another smitten fan said: “Blimey Kate I had to get my glasses I thought it was Olivia Newton-John………. You look amazing.”
Echoing their thoughts, a third also chimed in and said: “You look so hot there Kate! Just wow!” Someone else then declared: “MILF.”
A fifth then commented: “You look absolutely gorgeous.”

A source recently told Bella Magazine about Kate’s friends’ concern. They claimed: “Kate has sworn that juggling both Good Morning Britain and her radio show has been a lifeline, offering a glimmer of hope and distraction as she continues to deal with the unimaginable grief of losing your partner.

Kate initially announced Derek’s death on Instagram, in a heartwrenching tribute. She said: “I’m sad to have to tell you all that my darling husband Derek has passed away.
“As some of you may know he has been critically ill following a cardiac arrest in early December which, because of the damage inflicted by Covid in March 2020, led to further complications.
“Derek was surrounded by his family in his final days and I was by his side holding his hand throughout the last long hours and when he passed.
“I have so much more to say, and of course I will do so in due course, but for now I just want to thank all the medical teams who fought so hard to save him and to make his final moments as comfortable and dignified as possible.
“Sending so much love and thanks to all of you who have so generously given our family so much support. Rest gently and peacefully now Derek, my love, I was so lucky to have you in my life.”

The host thanked her fans for their support, stating: “They are an extraordinary comfort and I am so lucky to feel connected to you all through these messages at this time when the raw pain of grief can be so isolating.”
She went on to gush: “I am certain that it is the support that you have given me and sent to Derek that has sustained us through these tough nearly four years, motivating us to fight on for each other, and for those that can’t fight for themselves, and it will sustain us to continue that fight in the weeks and months and years to come.
“I look forward to waking up with you very soon again on Good Morning Britain to celebrate life in all its wonder and challenge again.”
Kate on being in ‘bubble of grief’
Ben Shephard appeared on GMB just days after Derek’s death and as a close friend of Kate, relayed his most recent discussion with her, where Kate touched on suffering through grief.
He explained: “It is the first time I have been on since sadly we heard of Derek’s passing last Friday. I just thought it would be alright to, firstly, on Kate’s behalf, I spoke to Kate last night.
“She again reiterated what she said on Monday which is a huge, huge thank you to everybody who sent her and her family a message.”
She said she is sort of in a strange bubble of her own numbness of grief at the moment.
Ben continued: “She said she is sort of in a strange bubble of her own numbness of grief at the moment. Her, Billy, and Darcey are hunkering down together.”
The presenter went on: “They are in the next stages of working out what happens. There’s a lot of admin to do when you lose someone. In that brilliant way yesterday, she said: ‘I have to go out to go and register the death.’”

Chatting on GMB, she said: “I think for people watching, they will know two things that are in a caring position – how unbelievably hard it is but what an honour it is too.
“And how much I wish I was caring today because it’s you know, it’s an incredible thing to be that line of defence against the world and what happens to us all in life.
I know I didn’t get it all right and I have lots of regrets of things I should have done more of.
“To be able to be that person there for somebody, it’s the ultimate honour and privilege, isn’t it? I know I didn’t get it all right and I have lots of regrets of things I should have done more of and wished I had spent less time fretting about.
“But it is a huge honour and what you do will be something that builds your life forever, it’s a gift but also you get so much for it as well.”

Speaking to The Sunday Times, Kate said: “I knew that what was said in the church would stay in the church, and wasn’t going to be broadcast or written up. I just trusted people not to do that.
“But the day felt like an out-of-body experience, like it wasn’t quite real. I got home from the funeral and thought, ‘I can’t wait to tell Derek about this’. And that’s the maddest thing.”
She added: “Of course I am glad he is at peace, but he never said, ‘I can’t do this any more.’ He always said, ‘How am I going to get better?’ So I knew that he would fundamentally be sad to have lost the fight. I’m just trying to take things really slowly, and sleep.”
On Friday January 5 Kate Garraway announced that her husband, Derek Draper, had died aged 56. The heartbreaking news led to an outpouring of love for the GMB host.
Now, an insider close to Kate has hailed her “truly remarkable” for the strength and resilience she has shown throughout Derek’s near-four year battle with the after effects of Covid.
The strain has not just been an emotional one, however, with the pressure of the families financial security lying solely with Kate.

Kate Garraway is ‘indescribable’
Speaking to The Sun, the insider who reportedly works with Kate at ITV said: “Kate has been through hell and back — and, by virtue of her career, it’s all been played out in the public domain.
“The strength of character and courage she’s shown, quite simply, is indescribable.”
They continued: “She would come into work, every single day, after three hours of broken sleep, plaster on a smile, and sit in make-up having her heartbroken, tear-stained face covered with studio make-up. It was truly remarkable.”
Derek was struck down by Covid in March 2020. He was placed into an induced coma. Following his battle with the illness, he suffered kidney failure and holes in his heart. He also had a setback when he contracted sepsis. Derek suffered a heart attack in December and died in early January.
Kate has continued to work. She has filmed several documentaries on Derek’s ongoing fight, and written books.

Financial pressures of Derek’s condition
In March 2023, three years after Derek contracted Covid, Kate told The Sun the costs of caring for him went “through the roof”.
Kate insisted they did not get special treatment because she was on the telly. She said: “Of course it’s been tough financially.
“As anyone with a loved one who is seriously ill knows, the costs go through the roof in so many ways.
“You have to make changes to your home and it affects your ability to work. I had to take long periods off when Derek was first sick. Of course if affects the overall income for the family as he can no longer work.”
She was forced to wind down his businesses and take on assistants to help her out. She also funded two trips to Mexico for treatment for him.

Kate announced that Derek had sadly passed away on Friday January 6. She said she had been “holding his hand throughout the last long hours”. She also thanked the teams who cared for him and sent love to everyone who has supported her.
