    Zoya Akhtar is currently gearing up for her period dramedy The Archies. Today, the makers dropped its much awaited trailer on the internet and it has been well received. Zoya’s close friend and filmmaker Karan Johar took to social media to give a shoutout to the film and also shared how she struggled to make her first film Luck By Chance.

    Today, on November 9th, The Archies trailer was released. Right after that, Zoya Akhtar‘s close friend Karan Johar took to Instagram to write a long post praising her. Sharing the film’s trailer, KJo wrote about how she struggled to make her first film Luck By Chance. He wrote, “Zoya and I grew up together…she was the wiser one, the smarter one and still is! She waited 7 years to start her first film (so much for nepotism and privilege), she had more actors turn her down than most tables at high end restaurants.”

    Karan further wrote that she went ahead and made the film and it received critical acclaim. The Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani director then called Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara his “favourite ZO Akhtar film” and stated that she could make a film with superstars. However, she “made what she believed in.” He concluded the post by writing, “So excited for you Zoya and the exciting ensemble of talent ! Welcome to the movies!!!!”

    The Archies is helmed by Zoya Akhtar and written by Akhtar, Reema Kagti, and Ayesha Devitre Dhillon. The film is produced by Tiger Baby Films and is based on the namesake popular American comic book series. It stars several new faces like Mihir Ahuja, Aditi ‘Dot’ Saigal, Khushi Kapoor, Suhana Khan, Yuvraj Menda, Agastya Nanda and Vedang Raina. The Archies will premiere on Netflix on December 7, 2023.

    Meanwhile, KJo’s recent directorial venture was Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani which turned out to be a critical and commercial success.

There are many celebrities like Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka Sharma who have already banned the show, and one more celebrity has joined the bandwagon: Raj Kundra. Shilpa Shetty‘s husband, who became an actor with his debut in Bollywood with UT 69, got candid when asked about him going on Karan Johar’s show Koffee With Karan 8, to which he cheekily replied, “Koffee with Karan pe kisi ka bhala nahi hua hai (No one has benefitted from being on Koffee with Karan).”

    There are many celebrities who have faced massive trolling after making their appearance on the show. Earlier, it was Shahid Kapoor and Mira Rajput who got trolled for their candid confessions on the show. And the latest couple in this season was Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone.

    Where one of the candid confession of the Jawan actress blew out of proportion. Speaking to Karan about her relationship with Ranveer, she said, ” I wanted to be single for a while because I had come from difficult relationships. I was going through a phase where I said ‘I just don’t want to be attached, don’t want to be committed’. And I had fun! And then he comes along, so I didn’t commit, until he proposed to me. There was no ‘commitment as such. Even if we were technically allowed to see other people, we would just keep coming back to each other.”

    Indeed, no other celebrity would like to regret it like Deepika must right now, and we wonder if the actress will ever make an appearance on the show. Just like how Shahid Kapoor and Mira Rajput never appeared on KWK after their Koffee fiasco.

    In the video, Farah can be seen showing her room filled with dresses and saying, “So I told Karan Johar I have nothing to wear for Diwali and this is what he has done. He has sent stylist Eka Lakhani to my house and just look at this! I could have shot a whole movie with this crew.”

    The video further shows Farah Khan having a fun chit-chat with the stylist wherein Farah says that she needed only one outfit for the party and Eka responds by saying how she looks stunning after having lost a lot of weight. 

    “This is why I am shooting this reel. Thank you! Need not say anything more,” said Farah as she ended the video.

    It was last year that actress-turned-author Twinkle Khanna shared that she enrolled herself for a Master’s Degree course in Fiction Writing at the Goldsmiths, University of London. Last month she finally completed her Master’s degree, and her husband and actor Akshay Kumar was immensely proud of her! Now, Twinkle has shared another update about her academic achievement, and joked that her friend Karan Johar cast the wrong people in Student Of The Year! The film starred Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan and Sidharth Malhotra.

    On Saturday morning, Twinkle Khanna took to her Instagram account to share an update about her academic accomplishments. She wrote that she received an exceptional distinction for her final dissertation, which has also been longlisted for the Pat Kavanagh Prize. She then jokingly added that her friend Karan Johar may have cast the wrong people in Student Of The Year.

    “A big moment, and at first, I was hesitant about sharing it. But it goes to show that age is truly just a number and doesn’t hinder you from achieving your goals. I received an exceptional distinction for my final dissertation, which has now also been longlisted for the Pat Kavanagh Prize by Goldsmiths, University of London. May I add that perhaps my old friend cast the wrong people in ‘Student of the Year.’ :),” read Twinkle Khanna’s caption.

    Twinkle also shared a picture of the letter which mentions that her portfolio has been long-listed for the Pat Kavanagh Prize, which is awarded each year for an outstanding piece of work from the Goldsmiths MA in Creative and Life Writing Programme. Meanwhile, in September, Twinkle Khanna shared a video as she completed her Master’s degree.

    She wrote, “A year of reading, analyzing, figuring out what even eighth graders know these days, how to do citations, dealing with assignments and submissions, and finally, by handing in my dissertation, it all comes to an end.”

    Akshay Kumar shared her post, and expressed how proud he is of his wife. “Mastered it and how! So, so proud of you Tina Now the most important question, when are you coming back home (laughing emojis)”, he wrote.

    Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol, and Rani Mukerji starrer Kuch Kuch Hota Hai recently clocked 25 glorious years of release. The makers have re-released the film to celebrate 25 years of the film. Now, the director of the film Karan Johar who recently graced our Pinkvilla Masterclass, opened up on various topics and also answered some interesting fans’ questions. During the interactive session, the director revealed what changes he would make if he had the chance to remake Kuch Kuch Hota Hai.

    During the exclusive interaction with us, a fan asked Karan Johar what made the director say Kuch Kuch Hota Hai was an “unusually silly” movie in one of the previous interviews. Sharing a light smile, the director said, “Yeah I got a lot of hate for that. It’s like Kuch Kuch Hota Hai lived an emotional legacy and it had so much nostalgia. But the thing is (laughs) is that if you really look at the story as I said what I said about innocence and conviction it operates beautifully as an example with Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. When I have children they are nearly seven and I start reading letters out to them, I’m not sure how proactive they will be and they definitely not go after that to find some lost love of mine. They won’t have that comprehension.

    He said, “Plus, how did this dying Rani know that 8 years later Kajol would remain unmarried and in no relationship? It was like I couldn’t understand what that first or second or third letter must have said.” 

    Speaking about changes he would make if he had a chance to remake Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, he further added, “Now that we’re speaking the language of the woke world, it’s the gender politics of the film are not something I’m very proud of. I feel like if I had to make Kuch Kuch Hota Hai again, I would correct the gender politics with life, time, experience, and evolution I’ve understood, how important it is as to what we show on celluloid, the communication is so critical so I may have used the word silly in an unfavorable manner, I didn’t mean it like that. I meant that the film has some logical as well as some inappropriate parts in terms of gender politics that I wish were different.”

    Speaking about Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, the romantic drama film tells the story of a complicated love triangle of three college-going students Rahul Khanna (played by SRK), Anjali Sharma (played by Kajol), and Tina Malhotra (played by Rani Mukherji). Making his directorial debut with 1998 release Kuch Kuch Hota Hai till his last directorial, Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, he has delivered several remarkable films. In a long illustrious career, he has also collaborated with several renowned big Bollywood celebs. However, in a recent interview with us, the ace filmmaker talked about his ‘unfulfilled desire’ of working with the late actress Sridevi.

    The ace filmmaker Karan Johar sat with us for an exclusive interview. In a hearty conversation, he talked about his long journey in Bollywood. On being asked if there is something on his bucket list, or if he aspires to do going further, KJo shared that at the beginning of his career, there were a few artists on the list including Amitabh Bachchan, Rishi Kapoor, Lata Mangeshkar whom he had the opportunity to work with. However, working with Late Sridevi still remains his unfulfilled desire.

    He stated, “When I began my career, there were a couple of artists that were on my bucket list. One was Mr. Rishi Kapoor, who I directed in Student Of The Year and produced with Agneepath and Kapoor & Sons. One of them was working with Mr. Bachchan, who I had the pleasure of directing twice. One of them was who I am a crazy fan of, Lata ji who sang for me, the title song of Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham. One of them was working with the late Sridevi. I feel like that was a desire that unfortunately went unfulfilled.”

    Karan Johar on his dreams taking a leap from just professional to personal 

    KJo further asserted that his dreams are not restricted to just the films, rather, his horizon has been widened now. He said, “I have no dream that I feel hasn’t been realized but what I do and what I tell everyone is that every day I make a new dream for myself and that dream could be a story to tell, an expansion plan for my studio or a relationship that I want to enhance. My dreams are not restricted just to the movies. Like I dreamt of having children and when I had them I felt like that was the most beautiful dream that was fructified. Now I dream for them. My dreams have also taken a leap and gone from just professional to personal. Now, I wake up every day I dream new dreams for myself, but I also dream big dreams for my children,” he shared on a concluding note.

    Kuch Kuch Hota Hai is regarded as one of the superhits at the box office. Directed by Karan Johar, the cast of the 1998 film starred Shah Rukh Khan, Rani Mukerji, and Kajol in lead roles. To celebrate the film’s 25 years, the makers decided to hold a special screening of the film on October 15. During the screening, SRK, Rani, and KJo surprised fans as they visited a theater during the special screening in Mumbai. Now, a video of Shah Rukh praising Karan while remembering Yash Chopra, Yash Johar, Reema Lagoo, and others surfaced on social media.

    A video shared by one of the fan clubs of Shah Rukh Khan on X (formerly known as Twitter)  shows the actor praising Karan Johar for making a film like Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. He also remembered Yash Chopra, Yash Johar, Reema Lagoo, and others at the special screening. 

    Shah Rukh said, “I just want to say something which is very important to me that you know when I joined the film industry I made some friends who are now family, Mr. Yash Chopra, Mr. Yash Johar, Karan’s late dad and he was my friend actually more than Karan. He was my friend and my friend’s son is Karan who was 24 years old when he made Kuch Kuch Hota Hai.”

    He also added, “He’s (KJo) taken this company to great heights, very proud of him as a friend’s son.” Watch the video: 

    For the special screening, Rani Mukerji was seen in a light-pink saree with a black border, while King Khan looked handsome in a black formal suit. The filmmaker wore an all-black outfit. 

    Kuch Kuch Hota Hai was released in 1998 on October 16. The roles of Rahul Khanna, Anjali Sharma, and Tina Malhotra were played by RK, Kajol, and Rani respectively.

    Paritosh Tripathi who is seen as Mamaji in Super Dancer will also be joining Tejasswi as the host for Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 11. Talking about the judges of the show, as per reports, Arshad Warsi, Malaika Arora and Farah Khan have been approached.

    Farah Khan confirms being a judge on JDJ 11?

    Madhuri Dixit and Karan Johar have reportedly stepped down as the judges. However, now Farah Khan has given a big hint that he is joining Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 11 as the judge.

    Karan returned to the director’s chair after nearly seven years with Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani. It also marked his 25th anniversary as a director in the industry. The picture was clicked on the sets of the 1988-released film Mardon Wali Baat. The senior actress made the post after her kiss with the legendary actor in the Karan Johar directorial went viral. 

    “At the time Jamini from Rocky Aur Rani must have met Kanwalji! From Mardon Wali Baat #KaranJohar,” Azmi captioned her post, referring to her and Dharmendra’s characters from the recent blockbuster. For the unversed, the senior actors appear in the roles of Jamini and Kanwal Lund, the former lovers who meet again as the latter reaches the final days of his life.

    A special screening was held for the celebs for Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani. Abhishek Bachchan had tagged along with Shweta Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan for the movie. While he shared the review of the Karan Johar movie, he did not talk about his mother’s performance but praised the new movie collectively. When recently, he was told about the thumbs up from the audience, Abhishek seemed in a mood to jest. He gushed saying “That’s good to hear,” but adds, “Go tell her in parliament,” and laughed, reports Pinkvilla. He says that it is too emotional for him. “The relationship between a mother and a son, or any child and a parent, is just that. I always view her as my mother, so it is very difficult for me to judge her,” he tells India Today. The reports claim that CFBC has made a few cuts and changes in the film that they felt weren’t appropriate for the viewers. The film has a U/A certificate, and the run time is around 2 hours, 48 minutes. As per reports in Bollywood Hungama, these are the changes and cuts that were demanded by the CBFC and enforced in the Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh starrer. It is claimed that a few scenes from the film have been removed as they were vulgar and degrading towards women.     4.Three dialogues were completely chopped off from the film, including a reference to Lok Sabha and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee each and one in a lingerie shop scene that was deemed to be ‘vulgar’ and ‘degrading women.’

    Churni Ganguly tells News18.com that she got a call from Dharma Productions who is bankrolling the Ranveer Singh starrer movie alongside Viacom18 Studios. The actress was busy moving into her new home. She was asked to send a video of her, a recorded video but she kept delaying it. It was when they sent her a picture which turned out to be of herself, that she felt they really wanted to cast her in the movie. Afterwards, Churni sent the video and got a reply the same evening asking her to block her dates and meet Karan Johar.
