  • The 25 Best Pop Songs Of 2025: Taylor Swift, Sabrina Carpenter, Olivia Dean, & More!

    [ad_1]

2025 was truly the best year in pop music we’ve had in a while! It seems like artists are simply locking back into what makes a true pop song and mastering that art. Narrowing this list down to simply 25 songs was quite the challenge, but we think this list is the best of the best throughout all facets of pop music! From Olivia Dean and Chappell Roan to Greyson Chance and so many more, let’s jump in!

Taylor Swift – ‘The Fate of Ophelia’

There is no way to talk about the great pop resurgence of 2025 without highlighting The Life of a Showgirl by Taylor Swift. For us, the entire album is full of examples of a true-to-form pop song, but we had to choose to highlight ‘The Fate of Ophelia’ due to it being inescapable since its release. This song is pure ear candy, and will get stuck in your head for hours even after just hearing a few seconds.

Olivia Dean – ‘Man I Need’

Olivia Dean is taking the pop music world by storm with ‘Man I Need,’ and to us that makes perfect sense. In anyone else’s discography, ‘Man I Need’ would be an easy career highlight, and yet, it’s one of many songs on Olivia’s most recent album, The Art of Loving, that blew us away upon the first listen and could have easily taken this spot.

    Sabrina Carpenter – ‘House Tour’

Man’s Best Friend is stacked top to bottom with pop gold, but after listening back through the album, ‘House Tour’ had to be our choice! Everything from that infectious chorus to the “my house is on pretty girl avenue” line made this one of those songs that will soundtrack nights out for us through the foreseeable future.

Jonas Brothers – ‘Love Me To Heaven’

The Jonas Brothers have been experts at the pop music game since Nick first uttered the words ‘red dress’ back in 2008, so it’s no surprise to us that they are only getting better and better 17 years later. Their newest record, Greetings From Your Hometown, had an obvious stand-out to us the first time we listened, and that was ‘Love Me To Heaven.’

    Audrey Hobert – ‘Phoebe’

Who’s The Clown? by Audrey Hobert was truly on an endless loop here at THP! Upon first listen, it was automatically clear that we were witnessing the artistic birth of someone who had a crystal clear understanding of how to bring themselves through in the music, be specific while staying relatable, and develop a sound that was particularly hers. We could have easily put any song from the album here, but ‘Phoebe’ is a forever favorite of ours!

Greyson Chance – ‘Waiting Outside The Lines ‘25’

No, we are not trying to transport you back to 2011, but there is so much beauty in taking a certified nostalgia-packed hit and reimagining it with years of life lived and heightened vocal ability to back it up. We can’t help but have a permanent smile on our face listening to this track and diving into Greyson’s current catalog (which everyone should do themselves the favor of doing)!

    Jensen McRae – ‘Novelty’

If you asked us what album impacted us the most this year, one of the easiest answers would be I Don’t Know How But They Found Me! Anyone who has dived into Jensen’s discography knows what a savant she is. Her relationship to her pen is one of one, and this album may be the best example of that in her discography so far. ‘Novelty’ is the song that immediately jumps out at us as a must-listen.

Lady Gaga – ‘How Bad Do U Want Me’

Lady Gaga is synonymous with pop music at this point. She has always had the skill on lock, and in many ways, has influenced so much of what the modern genre looks like. MAYHEM was a true return to form for Lady Gaga, and showed that her knowledge and talent with the pop music world has never faltered. ‘How Bad Do U Want Me’ is an instant smash and is still on repeat.

5 Seconds of Summer – ‘NOT OK’

We will forever preach our love for 5 Seconds of Summer and how they get better with every release! (If you didn’t know, this band is literally why THP exists!) EVERYONE’S A STAR came out just over a month ago and is the band’s most ambitious, larger-than-life project yet. But of course, every element was nailed perfectly. Each of the guys has so many standout moments, but there are even more moments when it is so clear why they continue to make music together: everything flows seamlessly.

Sadie Jean – ‘She’s Dating My Boyfriend’

Sadie Jean is the exact singer-songwriter your playlist is in need of, and we had to highlight a track off her debut album, Early Twenties Torture! Every song on this record feels like Sadie had a insider’s look at our deepest thoughts and struggles, was able to turn them poetic, and then put them to music. That skill of relatability is rare. ‘She’s Dating My Boyfriend’ is our favorite example of that peek inside our minds.

    Laufey – ‘Lover Girl’

Laufey has seamlessly blended the worlds of pop and jazz music and made a fusion that leaves us regularly at a loss for words. A Matter of Time is Laufey’s most recent album. And upon our first listen, it was clear that this is a generational album, one of those records where anyone who gives it a chance will fall in love with it. ‘Lover Girl’ is our favorite song off the record, so we had to highlight it!

Amber Mark – ‘Let Me Love You’

Amber Mark is the pop star you’ve been looking to add to your playlists! If you’re a fan of artists like Sabrina Carpenter and Olivia Dean, Amber’s album, Pretty Idea, and specifically our favorite track, ‘Let Me Love You,’ is going to be right up your alley! We are predicting that 2026 is going to be a huge year for Amber! And with music of this quality, it makes complete sense!

    Justin Bieber – ‘Yukon’

‘Yukon’ was one of our most-streamed songs of the year; it’s that serious to us! SWAG, for us, felt like Justin coming back into his own, making the music that feels true to form. With ‘Yukon,’ that infectious chorus we’ve come to know and love from Justin Bieber is the shining star, which definitely adds to why we are constantly playing this track on a loop.

    Lydia Night – ‘The Bomb’

You may know Lydia Night from her time with the band The Regrettes, but trust us when we say she has turned into a full-blown solo pop star. Lydia released her debut album, Parody of Pleasure, back in August, and all thirteen songs are expertly crafted! ‘The Bomb’ has been a standout since we first dove into this album. The song is playful and reminiscent of early 2000s pop.

Role Model – ‘Sally, When The Wine Runs Out’

Obviously, ‘Sally, When The Wine Runs Out’ has taken the world by storm this year, so there was no way we weren’t going to give Role Model his flowers. We haven’t heard a chorus quite as infectious as ‘Sally, When The Wine Runs Out’ in quite a long time. It’s impossible not be in an instant good mood when it hits.

Myles Smith – ‘Stay (If You Wanna Dance)’

If you were as obsessed with Myles Smith’s ‘Stargazing’ as we were, then ‘Stay (If You Wanna Dance)’ is the perfect addition to your playlists! Myles is someone who you continue to find new things about his artistry to dig into with each listen.

Zara Larsson is a pop star in the truest sense of the word. Her entire album, Midnight Sun, is a pop masterclass, in which she’s the only person equipped to teach. When we first heard the title track ‘Midnight Sun,’ we knew that this was a whole new ball game in terms of pop music, and that we would take every opportunity to praise what Zara is doing with her artistry.

    HAIM – ‘Relationships’

This song is pure ear candy and truly a discography highlight from one of our favorite trios! The chorus has serotonin woven into every line and lyric. And it makes us want to be out at night in the city with friends, dancing to every word. Their most recent album, i quit, is chock-full of tracks where you will see these themes.

    Conan Gray – ‘Vodka Cranberry’

Conan Gray was born to make the exact music he’s making right now. He releases such infectious pop tracks with lyrics that both feel true to self for Conan and still connect deeply with his audience. ‘Vodka Cranberry’ blew up this year, and to us, it only makes perfect sense. This is a solidified hit.

    Tate McRae – ‘Sports Car’

If you didn’t know, Tate McRae is a name that we have been screaming from the rooftops since we got to interview her years ago (which you can read here!). Tate blends musicality with dance seamlessly to draw people into who she is as a musician. ‘Sports Car’ and its visual components showcase exactly why Tate has quickly become a household name.

Avery Cochrane – ‘Shapeshifting On A Saturday Night’

Hailing from Seattle, Avery Cohrane is bound to be the name you can’t escape this next year in pop music! This year, she released her track, ‘Shapeshifting on a Saturday Night,’ and blew us away with the established pop sound she was crafting. If you’re a fan of artists like Chappell Roan or Olivia Rodrigo, we think you will love Avery!

    Addison Rae – ‘Headphones On’

It’s no secret that Addison Rae has had a massive year. From the success of ‘Diet Pepsi’ and her tour to her debut album, Addison, everything about her career so far has been the beginning of a pop star who will be talked about and celebrated for years to come. For Addison, pop is a true work of performance art, following in the footsteps of the likes of Britney Spears. ‘Headphones On’ off her debut album summarizes everything we love most about Addison as an artist.

Reneé Rapp – ‘I Think I Like You Better When You’re Gone’

We yell the chorus to ‘I Think I Like You Better When You’re Goneat truly astronomical levels. Everything about this track resonates with us. Something that Reneé Rapp never fails to do is draw the listener in and weave her story in a way that feels relatable to others. On top of the lyrical content of the song, Reneé’s vocals are otherworldly here.

    Demi Lovato – ‘Joshua Tree’

The 2025 version of Demi Lovato is the only artist who could craft an album like It’s Not That Deep. This record is a amalgamation of someone who has gone through it all. Someone who has experienced hardships and heartache and is in the complete opposite space now. And a lot of it is backtracked with songs you want to be in the club dancing to. That’s the duality of pop and of Demi, and it’s beautiful. To us, ‘Joshua Tree’ best represents the album as a whole.

    Chappell Roan – ‘The Subway’

Ending our best 2025 pop songs with one that is still inescapable like ‘The Subway’ only felt right. Chappell Roan is a once-in-a-lifetime artist. She creates with such intention and really takes her time with each project, which comes through in the music. ‘The Subway’ will be looked at years from now as one of the great songs of the decade.

Check out more of our end of year coverage here!

We would love to hear from you! What is your favorite pop song of 2025? Is it something off the new Taylor Swift album? Maybe a Conan Gray song? Or an Olivia Dean song? Let us know by commenting below or by tweeting @TheHoneyPOP! We are also on Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok!

  • ‘A Very Jonas Christmas Movie’ Review: A Trifle of a Holiday Musical, and a Bit Cringe, Which All Adds Up to a Guilty Pleasure

    [ad_1]

In “A Very Jonas Christmas Movie,” a synthetic holiday trifle whose chief asset is that it knows and even winks at how much it’s a synthetic holiday trifle, one of the more amusing scenes has the Jonas Brothers showing up at a hotel in Amsterdam to see a cabaret performance by Ethan, an old enemy of Nick Jonas’s portrayed by Andrew Barth Feldman. It seems that the two had been in a Broadway show together — a musical version of “Home Alone,” with Ethan as the Macaulay Culkin character and Nick cast as the dad. Ethan felt patronized by the pop star, and the two didn’t get along.

The reason the Jonases have shown up is that they want to hitch a Christmas ride home on Ethan’s private plane. (Their own tour jet blew up, because…well, we’ll get to that in a minute. It has something to do with meeting Santa Claus in a bar.) Ethan, scarcely hiding his contempt, calls Nick up onstage, where the two perform a duet from the show, a song that’s at once a pretty power ballad and pretty awful (“I will never leave you home alone ag-a-a-ain!”). But it’s just plausible enough to give you a chuckle. Then, at the song’s end, Ethan’s contempt for Nick comes pouring out, and Andrew Barth Feldman plays this with just enough mean-boy panache to raise your chuckle to a giggle.

If you like Christmas movies the way I do, you’ve seen the genre evolve, in a major way, over the last decade. It used to be that we got a handful of them each year in movie theaters. The small screen was reserved for what I thought of as Hallmark-type TV-movies, including the occasional kitsch Christmas cookie like “A Very Brady Christmas” (1988). But streaming changed all that. The small-screen Christmas movie is now an industry, with dozens of feel-good holiday entertainments coming out of the processor, almost all of them some combination of the following: wholesome, silly, romantic, artificial, fizzy, reverent, and too brightly lit, with the Christmas cheer poured on like eggnog spiked with even thicker eggnog.

So it says something that “A Very Jonas Christmas Movie” feels like a disposable stocking stuffer even when compared to the G-rated Christmas-globe world of made-for-streaming holiday fare.

The movie casts the Jonas Brothers as genially stylized versions of themselves, and it sticks them in the middle of a “Can we make it home for Christmas?” plot that’s like “Planes, Trains and Automobiles” made on a streaming budget. As the movie opens, in London, Will Ferrell is taking his family to see the final night of the Jonas Brothers’ latest tour (the joke is that Ferrell loves the Jonases more than he does his own children). As they come offstage, we see that the three have been playing together for so long now (20 years!) that the thrill is kind of gone. They’re not teenage pop stars anymore. They’re grown men with families who’ve come to take their career, and each other, for granted.

That might be just what you’d expect. But Santa Claus (Jesse Tyler Ferguson), appearing incognito as a short-white-bearded eccentric who happens to be sitting next to Joe at a bar, gets an earful of Joe’s troubles and puts an instructional curse on the brothers: They will not be able to make it home for Christmas until they rediscover their bond and start appreciating each other again. Which they will do over the course of 80 minutes of haphazard road-trip-through-Europe adventure.

Some of “A Very Jonas Christmas Movie” is standard holiday-special treacle, with all the dramatic richness of a fake fireplace log. But it’s broken up by musical numbers that go down easy, since a lot of them, as composed by Justin Tranter (and sung with sweet vibrance by the Jonases), come off like Michael Bublé heartwarmers. A few of them are staged with a wink; during a production number set in a train station, the brothers do a double take after the dancers perform a hands-under-the-knee homage to a move that became a meme from “Camp Rock 2.” And there’s a romance that wastes no time falling into cringe terrain: On the train, Joe, the swarthy womanizer of the group (he’s the only one who isn’t married with kids), just happens to run into…his old childhood crush (Chloe Bennet)! Who is now a thoracic heart surgeon! And has just broken up with someone!

The cringe factor almost works for the movie. Kevin, the one who has never left New Jersey, is the nerdish Ringo of the group, and he’s sitting on something he needs to tell the rest of them. We think he’s quitting the band, but it’s really just that he wants the chance to sing a lead vocal. And Nick, though he’s the youngest of the three brothers, acts like the oldest, organizing the tour details, redoing the set list, making it all happen…and no one appreciates him for this. “A Very Jonas Christmas Movie” is a very white people problems movie.

Yet that’s all part of the mild guilty pleasure of it. The Jonas Brothers, in their straight-arrow Middle American dudes-with-purity-rings-all-grown-up way, are likable, in part because they’re always poking holes in each other’s egos. And the movie is willing to be daft and a bit loopy, as in the episode where they find themselves aboard a private plane and the pilot, after trying to take sexy selfies of himself, winds up knocked out cold on the floor, with the automatic-pilot mechanism turned off. It will take crash-landing in the snowy woods, and having to scream at a pack of wolves, to make the Jonas Brothers rediscover their love for each other.

They’re all quite comfortable in front of the camera, but to me the clear stand-out as an actor is Nick Jonas. What he has, that his brothers don’t, is the ability to hold an audience, curious and intrigued, even when he’s doing nothing — it’s just a vibe, a sense of things going on behind his lean, sly visage. I like the Jonas Brothers and hope they continue on, especially if they ever get it together to do another song like “Sucker,” their 2019 hit that’s the best track they ever recorded. (They perform it in concert during the closing credits.) But at this point, as “A Very Jonas Christmas Movie” more or less acknowledges, they’re an oldies act. The movie reaffirms their place in the pop firmament, but it also made me think: If they ever do start to get too old for this, Nick Jonas might have the big screen waiting for him.

  • Music Competition Show ‘Who’s In The Band’ In Works At ABC With Simon Cowell, Joe Jonas, Mel B & ‘KPop Demon Hunters’ Star Rei Ami

    [ad_1]

EXCLUSIVE: ABC is putting work into finding the next big TV music competition series — and it has turned to a maestro of the genre to test a new format.

Deadline hears that the Disney-owned network has set Simon Cowell as a judge on a proof-of-concept taping of Who’s In The Band, a talent search for the next One Direction.

He will judge alongside a panel that includes Joe Jonas, Spice Girl Mel B (a frequent Cowell collaborator on America’s Got Talent and beyond), and songwriter Savan Kotecha. Rei Ami, who provided Zoey’s singing voice in Netflix sensation KPop Demon Hunters, is on hosting duties.

Who’s In The Band casting materials suggest it will contain a twist on the well-trodden genre, with singers performing the same song, at the same time, in different colored tubes.

The Who’s In The Band test shoot will take place on October 30 at Eastbrook Studios in London. Sources say the presentation will not air on ABC, and there is no series greenlight. It is believed to be part of the network’s plan to launch a new talent competition series as soon as this coming summer. ABC currently has veteran reality series American Idol — which made Cowell a household name in the US with its original incarnation on Fox — returning for a new season in early 2026.

Who’s In The Band hails from Yes Yes Media, the London and LA-based production company founded by Richard Bacon, the former television presenter turned format guru. The recording has generated a smattering of press in the UK, but Deadline is the first to reveal ABC’s involvement. The network declined to comment.

Cowell has never featured as a judge on an ABC reality series, sitting out of the network’s American Idol reboot. He did collaborate with ABC on American Inventor in 2006, but only as a producer. Cowell has remained a fixture on network TV as a judge and executive producer on NBC’s America’s Got Talent.

Yes Yes launched in 2023 with backers including Courteney Cox and Sister, producer of Black Doves. Deadline reported in July that the company was piloting BBC show, The Easiest Quiz Show in the World, with Strictly Come Dancing winner Chris McCausland.

Mark Sidaway, former The X Factor showrunner and Yes Yes Media’s head of entertainment, is involved in producing Who’s In The Band.

Music reality series focused on assembling a group have been around for years. Some notable examples include Popstars, Making the Band, and most recently, Netflix’s Building the Band.

  • Here’s The Official Cast For Disney Channel’s Camp Rock 3

    [ad_1]

Disney Channel and Disney+ are back, once again, to pull on our nostalgic heartstrings. They’ve hit us with the biggest news of the year – Camp Rock 3 is officially greenlit. Disney announced the full cast today, featuring both new and familiar faces. Our favorite childhood stars are returning, and we could not be more excited. “It’s on, it’s on, it’s on!

“The story picks up when Connect 3 lose their opening act for a major reunion tour, returning to their beloved Camp Rock to discover the next big thing. As campers vie for the chance to open for their favorite band, tensions rise and friendships are tested, leading to unexpected alliances, revelations and romances.”

Ayo Davis, president, Disney Branded Television, said in a press release

    The Returning Stars

    Demi Lovato

Yes, it’s officially been announced that Demi Lovato will reprise their role of Mitchie Torres in Camp Rock 3! We’re so glad Demi is back for the third rendition of the iconic Disney Channel movie franchise. Right on the heels of their new album, It’s Not That Deep, Demi is destined for greatness the rest of the year and into 2026. We’ll always be here supporting Demi!

    Maria Canals-Barrera

Momma Connie Torres is back! The Camp Rock franchise certainly isn’t complete without Disney legend Maria Canals-Barrera. You know and love her as the Russo-family matriarch in Wizards of Waverly Place, but we have a special place for her character Connie in our hearts as well. Will she still be the camp chef? Or will she take on a new title in Camp Rock 3?

    Kevin Jonas

Any Camp Rocker knows that Kevin was the comedic relief and one of the best characters in the original Camp Rock movies. He’ll be reprising his role of Jason Gray, the junior Camp Rockers’ favorite camp counselor. Maybe we’ll finally get a solo Kevin Jonas moment?

    Nick Jonas

If you had a crush on Nate Gray in 2008, welcome to the club. We may have read one too many fan fictions about meeting our favorite singer, aka Nick Jonas, at a summer camp and falling deeply in love over playing guitar and “a homemade quesadilla.” All that to say, Nick Jonas is returning to Camp Rock 3!

    Joe Jonas

Obviously, if his brothers Kevin and Nick are returning, Joe Jonas has to be back, too. We couldn’t leave mega superstar Shane Gray out of the picture….let’s just hope their tour bus doesn’t fall over a cliff and into a lake again. We wonder what type of classic Disney Channel shenanigans the Gray brothers will get up to in this new movie?

“‘Camp Rock’ is an important part of the Disney Channel Original Movie legacy, with unforgettable music, energetic storytelling, and characters that live in the hearts of fans to this day. Bringing it back with Kevin, Joe, Nick and Demi is such a full-circle moment, and we can’t wait to reintroduce this world to a new generation.”

Ayo Davis, president, Disney Branded Television, stated in a press release

    The New Faces

    Malachi Barton

Enter camp bad boy Fletch. You may know the name Malachi Barton from Disney+’s Zombies 4: Dawn Of The Vampires and Stuck In The Middle. Barton is a Disney Channel vet and will be a new camper at Camp Rock this summer.

    Brooklynn Pitts

You may know Brooklynn from the 2023 TV show Chicken Girls, but if not, you’ll fall right in love with her character in Camp Rock 3. Pitts’ character, Callie, is the choreography lead in this new movie. Every camper wants her moves, and honestly, so do we.

Image Source: Courtesy of Disney Television Entertainment
    Casey Trotter

Casey Trotter joins the cast of Camp Rock 3 as Cliff, the drummer with his own beat and style. You’ll know Casey from Disney Channel’s The Thundermans: Undercover, but now he’s taking over the Disney movie scene! We can’t wait to hear what kind of musical talent he brings to the big screen.

    Ava Jean

It’s not summer camp in the year 2025 without an influencer or two. Actress Ava Jean is entering Camp Rock 3 as Madison, the intimidating and confident influencer who is always camera-ready. This is probably the new character that we’ll find ourselves relating to the most.

    Lumi Pollack

You’ll know Lumi Pollack from the 2021 movie, The Fallout, starring Jenna Ortega. Now, she’s making her Disney Channel debut as Rosie, the cello prodigy, ready to take Camp Rock by storm. The other new faces better watch out, Pollack is clearly a force to be reckoned with.

    Liamani Segura

Emerging actress Liamani Segura has secured the role of Sage on Camp Rock 3. Sage’s character is described as “bold” and “determined,” but fans know little else about her. You may recognize Segura’s name from Disney Channel’s High School Musical: The Musical and Descendants: Wicked Wonderland.

    Hudson Stone

Another new face to the Camp Rock franchise is 13-year-old Hudson Stone. His character, Desi, is Sage’s brother, so we’re expecting to see a lot of Hudson and Liamani on screen together. Desi is described as “easygoing,” and we know that Hudson is a musician himself. We can’t wait to see his talent shine on screen!

Whoa, what an amazing cast reveal! If you haven’t seen Camp Rock or Camp Rock 2 in a while, take this as your sign to head to Disney+ and get to streaming! Are you as excited about Camp Rock 3 as we are? Which new character are you looking forward to learning more about? Let us know down in the comments or on FacebookInstagram, and Twitter

  • Inside Joan star Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas’ split – from ‘serious problems’ to ‘final straw’ seen on doorbell cam

Inside Joan star Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas’ split – from ‘serious problems’ to ‘final straw’ seen on doorbell cam

    [ad_1]

Star of Joan Sophie Turner appeared to have a fairy-tale marriage to Jonas Brothers singer Joe Jonas. However, since their divorce, things have proven to be quite the opposite.

After years of being considered “couple goals”, Sophie and Joe tied the knot in 2019. They also started a family, welcoming daughters Willa, four, and two-year-old Delphine. But by September 2023, things weren’t as they seemed after Joe filed for a divorce in Miami, Florida.

“The marriage between the parties is irretrievably broken,” the court docs stated. However, as time has gone on, more and more has risen to the surface about their relationship and acrimonious split.

Sophie and Joe announced their split in September last year (Credit: Splashnews.com)

Joan star Sophie Turner had ‘problems’ with Joe six months before split

Days before Sophie and Joe announced their split, TMZ claimed that they were expected to divorce. An inside source alleged that “Joe had his people contact and consult with at least two LA-area divorce lawyers and he is on the cusp of filing divorce docs to end his marriage to Sophie”. The same source also alleged that Sophie and Joe had been having “serious problems” for at least six months beforehand.

While on tour, fans noticed that Joe was not wearing his wedding band, causing further speculation that the rumours were true. However, on September 5, a day before the official divorce announcement, Joe shared a snapshot of himself on Instagram wearing the ring.

‘The marriage between the parties is irretrievably broken’

According to a report from Today, Joe filed for divorce on September 6. In the petition, it stated: “The marriage between the parties is irretrievably broken.” Joe also asked to split custody of their two daughters, with the petition revealing: “It is in the best interests of the minor children.”

The document also stated that Joe and Sophie signed a prenup before walking down the aisle.

“They were not separated, but they’ve been living separate lives for months,” a source told PEOPLE, adding that they “haven’t gotten along in a while, but they’re hoping to resolve this all amicably.

“As far as custody goes, this literally all just happened, so they’re figuring it out in real time. They did have a prenup. As a family, they were based in Florida. The kids were with him the last few months, traveling with him with family while he’s been on tour. Sophie’s been working in the UK.”

    ‘This is a united decision’

In a joint statement posted to Instagram on September 6, Joe and Sophie said: “After four wonderful years of marriage we have mutually decided to amicably end our marriage. There are many speculative narratives as to why but, truly this is a united decision.”

The pair said they “sincerely hope everyone can respect our wishes for privacy for us and our children”.

An inside source told Page Six that divorcing Game of Thrones star Sophie was the “last resort” for him.

“He never wanted to break up his family, but he had to take what he felt was the best course of action for his girls. An unhappy home isn’t a home, and the truth is that he and Sophie were going through it this year. There’s a lot of noise out there, but it wasn’t a straw-that-broke-the-camel’s-back situation like it’s being reported.”

The ‘ring cam’ was when Joe knew it was ‘all over’

Following their joint statement announcing their split, TMZ published an article about a “ring cam” that made Joe want to end everything.

“Joe had access to a ring cam that he said captured Sophie saying and/or doing something that made him realise the marriage was over,” the publication claimed.

Weeks later, Us Weekly claimed the cam caught Sophie speaking “somewhat negatively” about her ex-husband with a friend of hers. “It wasn’t anything more than that, but that was the final straw,” a source said.

Joe ‘refused’ to return his daughters’ passports to Sophie

After giving birth to their daughter Delphine, TMZ reported that Joe pressured Sophie to make public appearances she didn’t want to. Sources told the outlet that “Joe complained Sophie was MIA and felt she needed to get out more” when she chose to not attend another event.

Weeks later, Sophie filed legal documents that claimed Joe was “unlawfully keeping their children in New York City”. She wanted her two daughters to be “returned” to her in the UK.

According to the documents, Sophie and Joe had previously come to an agreement that England was going to be the “permanent home” for them and their daughters.

As Sophie was shooting a “very intense” time-consuming series, she reportedly agreed “with some hesitation” that Joe could have their daughters while he was on tour. However, the documents claim that Joe “refused to return the passports to the mother and refuses to send the children home to England with the mother” after they agreed he would.

Joe’s rep stepped in and told Page Six that Joe called the lawsuit a “harsh legal position” that went against the “amicable co-parenting setup” he believed they were both working on.

“Less than 24 hours later, Sophie advised that she wanted to take the children permanently to the UK. Thereafter, she demanded via this filing that Joe hand over the children’s passports so that she could take them out of the country immediately,” Joe’s rep added.

“Joe is seeking shared parenting with the kids so that they are raised by both their mother and father and is of course also okay with the kids being raised both in the US and the UK.”

In January, Sophie’s child abduction lawsuit against Joe was dismissed.

‘Sophie is open to the idea of dating again’

Nearly two months after Joe filed for divorce, Sophie was seen sharing a kiss with British aristocrat Peregrine Pearson.

In photos exclusively obtained by The Sun, Sophie and Peregrine “arrived together at the chauffeur pick-up location outside of [the Gare du Nord railway station]. It looked like they might have both come on the Eurostar from London.

“They stood there for a few minutes and were chatting and laughing a lot. He then took his hat off and leaned in to give her a big kiss. After the kiss they parted ways.”

A couple of days later, a source insisted Joe wasn’t “concerned” about Sophie’s dating life. They also claimed that dating was “not on his radar” at that time.

“Sophie is open to the idea of dating again,” another source claimed, alleging she was “keeping her options open”.

After much speculation, Sophie and Peregrine went Instagram official in September.

Following Sophie, Joe started dating actor Stormi Bree earlier this year. However, their relationship was short-lived.

Sophie Turner ‘hurt’ during the filming of Joan

Sophie said the aftermath of her divorce from the Sucker singer was “the worst few days of [her] life”.

“I remember I was on set, I was contracted to be on set for another two weeks, so I couldn’t leave. My kids were in the States and I couldn’t get to them because I had to finish Joan. And all these articles started coming out,” she revealed to British Vogue in May.

“It hurt because I really do completely torture myself over every move I make as a mother – mum guilt is so real!” Sophie continued. “I just kept having to say to myself, none of this is true. You are a good mum and you’ve never been a partier.”

Referring to the legal drama, she admitted that she “didn’t know if I was going to make it”. After calling her lawyer saying she wasn’t sure if she had the strength, Sophie realised she was doing it for her kids.

In May, Joe’s lawyers requested more time for negotiations as both Joe and Sophie’s custody case could face dismissal for “”ack of prosecution”.

Joe’s upcoming album is not putting anyone on ‘blast’

On October 18, Joe will release his new solo album, Music for People Who Believe in Love.

While telling Billboard the writing process was “therapeutic”, Joe also said it “was scary at times and also freeing”.

Joe has also insisted he will not be bashing his ex-wife in the songs. “I’m not trying to come for anyone on this album. I’m not trying to put stuff on blast. I have a beautiful life that I’m grateful for,” he said.

“I’ve got two beautiful kids,” he continued. “I’m a happy person, and the music needed to resemble that but also the journey to get here.”

Your Weekend Playlist: New Music To Listen To Friday

    [ad_1]

How is it already October? As I get older, I swear time is moving faster. So now it’s hard for me to even comprehend how we’re essentially at the end of the 2024 already.

And maybe it’s because we’re all back in the full swing of work…no more summer vacations to focus on, the sun is setting earlier (chills.), or maybe it’s because I’m generally more bored in the colder months…but I am listening to more music than ever.

This week especially has felt a billion years long, so I’m looking forward to making a bunch of playlists to get me through my impending bout of seasonal depression. And just because the summer may be over, that doesn’t mean music stops.

In fact, each week there are fresh songs to be found. Artists are constantly churning out new tracks and albums every Friday, which is great news for those addicted to music like me. Luckily for you, I compile a playlist of the best new releases from the week.

Whether it’s an anticipated release like Sabrina Carpenter’s Short n’ Sweet or a more indie artist, we’re checking out every new song that comes our way. That way, you get the best playlist with the best new music…and I get to brag that I’m great on aux.

Anyways, if you’re looking for new music to get you through the weekend…no matter what your plans are, I’ve got you covered. Without wasting any more time, let’s get listening!

Nate Smith, Avril Lavigne- “Can You Die From A Broken Heart”

In “Can You Die From a Broken Heart,” you get everything you need from a hard-hitting power ballad collaboration. With Nate Smith and Avril Lavigne’s vocals belting out the chorus, this is the breakup anthem you needed. It’s a healing song you can scream along to in your car.

One of my favorites from this week’s playlist…and doesn’t everyone need a good song to cry to?

    JoJo- “Porcelain”

JoJo was the voice of our childhood. A pop princess who just understood the assignment every time…and now she’s back with new music to get us through the fall.

“Porcelain” has an R&B pop fusion sound that exhibits JoJo’s vocals while making you want to dance at the same time. If you’ve been missing JoJo’s music for some time, she hasn’t missed a beat.

    FINNEAS- “Lotus Eater”

FINNEAS, one of the best singer-songwriter-producers in the game right now, makes music that feels like art. With his new album, listeners will be graced with his prowess for music and rewarded with great tracks, good vibes, and all around fun. “Lotus Eater” is your perfect introduction to FINNEAS.

It’s almost melancholic, with an alternative indie sound that is perfect for this time of year. “Lotus Eater” is a must listen on this playlist thanks to its flawless production, making it an easy listen.

Joe Jonas- “What This Could Be”

We know Joe Jonas can cover just about any genre and do it well. It’s a sign of how long he’s been around in the industry, and just his sheer talent overall. With this new single, “What This Could Be,” you get a raw, honest Joe Jonas that hones in on his dynamic vocals and songwriting ability.

It’s not what you’d necessarily expect from him, but it works nonetheless. “What This Could Be” is both relaxing and reassuring, an introspective song that takes you on a journey with Jonas.

    Perrie- “You Go Your Way”

Perrie Edwards has always had the starpower and vocal ability to catapult her into popstardom. Whether she’s in a group or doing solo work, her voice will shine through no matter what. And it’s not her fault, some people are just born with that certain It Factor.

With “You Go Your Way,” you get a taste of that pop princess within Perrie. It’s independent, uplifting, and strong, a song that builds from the beginning and doesn’t stop until it’s over. It seems like she knows who she is as a solo artist, and the music falls into place.

    The Beginning of the End

Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner first crossed paths in 2016, quickly becoming one of Hollywood’s most adored couples. Their whirlwind romance led to a surprise wedding in Las Vegas in May 2019, followed by the birth of their two daughters, Willa and Delphine.

However, the fairy tale took a dark turn in September 2023 when Joe filed for divorce, citing that their marriage was “irretrievably broken” and that it was in the best interest of their children to establish shared parental responsibility. The initial announcement of their split was met with shock, especially as the couple had publicly declared their mutual decision to end their marriage. However, things soon escalated into a legal battle, with Sophie accusing Joe of unlawfully retaining their children in the U.S. and demanding their return to England, which they had agreed to make their permanent home.

Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner Custody Battle

Sophie’s legal action marked the beginning of a contentious custody dispute that drew significant media attention. She claimed that Joe was keeping their daughters’ passports and preventing her from taking them back to the UK, despite their prior agreement.

This led to accusations of wrongful detention, with Joe’s representatives refuting the claims and asserting that the children were not abducted but were in his care as per their arrangement. The couple’s disagreements over custody arrangements highlighted the complexities of co-parenting after separation, especially when both parents had different expectations regarding their children’s living situation.

The public nature of their dispute further complicated matters, as both parties faced scrutiny from fans and media outlets eager to dissect every detail of their private lives.

Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner Resolution

After months of legal wrangling, the divorce was finalized on September 11, 2024, in a Florida court. Judge Gina Beovides declared the marriage officially over and approved a confidential settlement regarding asset division, spousal support, and custody arrangements for their daughters.

The judge emphasized that the couple’s agreement was in the best interest of their family, signaling a hopeful path forward for co-parenting. In the aftermath of the divorce, both Joe and Sophie appear to be moving on with their lives. They have been spotted dating other individuals, suggesting that they are ready to embrace new beginnings while maintaining their commitment to co-parenting their children amicably.

Your Weekend Playlist: New Music To Listen To This Friday

    [ad_1]

I’m sure by now you were worrying if there would ever be another Weekend Playlist again. After a brief hiatus, we’re back with a week’s worth of fresh new music wrapped into one cute playlist that will get you through the weekend! And, personally, I couldn’t be more excited than I am now.

After obsessing over Sabrina Carpenter’s new album, Short n’ Sweet, for the past few weeks…it’s time to look for some fresh tunes. There’s no better feeling than when you’re playing a song and someone asks you what the name is because they love it so much. It means, as the DJ, you’re doing your job.

And maybe it’s because my name is 50% of the word “DJ,” but I love to be on the aux. I have a constant stream of playlists going that fit every mood and situation. Want to be hyped up? I’ve got you. Want to be sad and weep your eyes out? I have a playlist for you. Sad the summer is over? Check my End of Summer playlist.

Since there’s new music released every Friday, I like to comb through press releases, Spotify playlists, and more to find the best new songs released that day. Whether it’s a big artist like Taylor Swift, or a more indie sound, I’m looking everywhere for music you’ll actually want to listen to.

Now that we’re all equally excited, there’s no more time to waste! Here are my picks for the best new tracks released the week of September 6, 2024! Let’s get listening.

Joe Jonas, Alan Walker, Julia Michaels- “Thick Of It All”

What I love about this collaboration is that it bands together three titans in the music industry. Joe Jonas, the childhood heartthrob who made headlines as one of The Jonas Brothers. Alan Walker, the mastermind behind some of the biggest dance tracks in the world. And Julia Michaels, one of the most prolific singer-songwriter-producer combinations in the game right now.

“Thick Of It All” combines what each artist does best in one smooth track. With a dreamy back beat, Julia Michaels’ rings in the chorus as she croons “all the way in the thick of it all.” It’s a great mix of Jonas and Michaels’ complementary vocals with an iconic backing from Walker. You can’t lose.

    Sabrina Sterling- “take a shot”

If you need a silky, synthy pop song that details what it feels like to be in a toxic relationship, then come listen to Sabrina Sterling’s new song. With lyrics like “my boy hates who I’m out with/says it’s not allowed if/I do things for me I know he’ll tell his friends about it,” Sterling sums up the pain and confusion of not being able to leave.

We all need a song that puts our feelings into words, which is exactly how Sterling steals our hearts with this introspective, honest single. An easy pick for this week’s playlist. This one’s for the heartbroken, yearning listener who likes a melancholic, upbeat track.

The Chainsmokers, Kim Petras- “Don’t Lie”

We already know that Kim Petras and The Chainsmokers can make a radio hit with their eyes closed. A bouncy, sexy house track that I can already hear being played in New York City clubs…”Don’t Lie” is yet another reason why Petras and The Chainsmokers are so highly reveled in the industry. They understand their audience, and they make music everyone can enjoy.

The summer of house music continues into fall, and who better than The Chainsmokers to remind us they still have it?

Fred again…, SOAK- “just stand there”

Fred again… keeps pushing boundaries with his progressive house music that has stolen the hearts of millions. He’s become one of the most innovative DJ’s in the game right now, whose music may be unconventional at times but equally thrilling. “just stand there” is another example of how Fred again… is akin to RUFUS DU SOL in terms of groundbreaking dance music.

“just stand there” may not be your most typical dance song, but it’s classic Fred again…calm in the right places, nostalgic in others, and an overall good time.

    A$AP Rocky, J.Cole- “Ruby Rosary”

A$AP has finally put his time in in the studio and he’s coming in hot. Linking up with another big name in the rap game, J. Cole, proves A$AP Rocky can reclaim the crown at any time. This melancholic rap song is quintessential for those who like to keep it old school.

“Ruby Rosary” is classic and familiar in a good way. Not unoriginal by any means, but a reminder that real rap still exists.

    BENEE- “sad boiii”

BENEE has a sexy, synthy, dreamy voice that has captivated listeners. She has the ability to slam a catchy hook into a fun chorus, and that’s exactly what she’s done again with “Sad Boiii.” BENEE is every bit the jazzy popstar that we needed in the world.

This song is a reminder that she doesn’t need another sad boy, someone who’s going to disappoint her. It’s the bad bitch energy this playlist needed.

    Rex Orange County- “2008”

On a more relaxing note, Rex Orange County reminds us how he’s going to prioritize mental health, take life slow, and enjoy. It’s a sweet, calming number that shows Rex Orange County’s maturation as an artist, and as a person. The song is delicate, lighthearted, and feels like the beginning of a new era for the singer.

It’s a confident approach to a song that is much needed for many. A great end to our Weekend Playlist.

  • 3 Short Stories From Merging Jonas Brothers And Mimi Webb Lyrics Together To Celebrate FIVE ALBUMS. ONE NIGHT.’s Europe Leg

3 Short Stories From Merging Jonas Brothers And Mimi Webb Lyrics Together To Celebrate FIVE ALBUMS. ONE NIGHT.’s Europe Leg

    [ad_1]

The Jonas Brothers have been taking us on a “journey” for a while now. We don’t just mean a musical one, flipping through their discography and piecing it together through cringy side fringes and the dreary notes of turbulent loves. But rather, we’re stealing a word from Nick. He often parrots it in the opening speech for their FIVE ALBUMS. ONE NIGHT. tour, which is as decadent as it sounds. From the three of them—Joe and Kevin, in case we’re having a momentary Wattpad story memory blank—springing up on stage like fabric-printed Powerpuff Girls to taking over the visuals for a kiss cam, there’s not a moment when we’re not chowing down our Rob’s Backstage Popcorn.

Having just finished creating a pleasurable frenzy in Latin America, they’re switching international borders to raise their pinkies for a cup of Joe with the Europe leg. And we’re nowhere near wanting to erase it. Despite their opening act, Mimi Webb’s latest song, ‘Erase You.’ In a universe-realigning moment, as she was supposed to sing during their Royal Albert Hall gig, she took to TikTok in June. She was a flailing mess just like us to ‘S.O.S.’ We’re still looking for help because we have no idea how to survive their glorious team-up!

    Short Stories

But we do have some of an idea, at least, like a pinching our two fingers slightly together semblance. Why not mosaic their lyrics together to create a short story? Whether it’s stealing a line from one of their verses to match something else hidden in the latter or playing with the themes of their songs. We’ll string together a stanza-filled short story from two of them. Then, since we’re already manifesting a duet, we’ll extend the idea of fleshing the short story into an entire mashup they can perform in Europe.

“I got vacation eyes / But I keep on runnin’ through these red flags.”

As stated, the Jonas Brothers claimed red as their favorite color in the early 2000s (not to be confused with taking a trip to another year one gets upon adding an extra thousand), but it’s also Mimi’s! If we were to look into her ‘Vacation Eyes,’ we’d probably see a collective string of ‘Red Flags.’ What’d be interesting about this mashup is that it delves into the relationship scarries we have around love bombing, the elusive honeymoon phase before we discover that they’re a narcissist. We’re quick to say “bye-bye.”

“I’m slippin’ into the lava / And I’ma try to keep from goin under / If somеbody goes and calls the brigade / I’ll alrеady be too far away.”

One has the classic hip-swaying drum riff amid ‘Burnin’ Up’ for their crush, while the other uses the same fire element to turn their cheating ex’s ‘House On Fire.’ So, if we had to bet on the ideal mashup, we’re looking at these two respective hits! Then, notably, Mimi’s adlibs are added to classic lines like “You’re cold” for Joe’s “I’m hot” to showcase that there might still be some hidden feelings in a toxic cyclone. And it’s bound to be a crowd-pleaser.

“Cold feet turned into cold weather / We had love, now it don’t matter / But every time the lights go out / I see you there when you’re not around.”

Isn’t it funny to think that the Jonas Brothers literally sat as a poltergeist on our shoulders at one point? They continued to remind us that they had all split up and we would never have them in the same room performing again. Yeah, that didn’t age well! And we’re glad it didn’t. Because if it had, we wouldn’t have gotten Happiness Begins. It’s obviously where our own joy skyrocketed because it meant looping ‘Used To Be’ for hours. Then Mimi threw on a baby blue, feathery frock and stood on an elegant balcony. And we realized even more that the ‘Ghost Of You,’ whether ex-loves, friends, or even fill in relative terms here __ were better left in the past!

The Jonas Brothers may be late to the party (the Europe leg of the tour was initially slated for May), but they’ll never forget the scratching vocals centered around “Red dress.” Every prolonged ‘s’ riffing between Joe and Nick marks a celebration of the venues being decked in nostalgic merch tees, copycat looks from iconic callbacks, and dresses dipped in all shades of maroon. As stated by Live Nation in the banner below, the Europe leg will kick off in Manchester next Thursday. It’ll wrap up in London on the 17th. Already have your fingers wrapped around a ticket? Shout at us on our social media, Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram, over which show you’re going to. Then, play the game of match by finding someone else with the same ticket type you have.

  • Will Sabrina Carpenter and Olivia Rodrigo Work It Out on the Remix?

Will Sabrina Carpenter and Olivia Rodrigo Work It Out on the Remix?

    [ad_1]

We’re in the best of times (brat summer), but we’re also in the worst of times (constantly fielding articles by Some Guy about how brat summer is dead). But how could brat summer be over if I feel it in my heart? If they’re still playing “Guess ft. Billie Eilish” at Tenants of the Trees in LA (where Charli XCX herself had her birthday party for some reason)? And if the impact of brat summer is still causing ripples through the culture it cannot be over.

No, I’m not talking about Kamala’s brat green rebrand. I’m talking about something more substantial — the very same thing that had last summer in the same chokehold: the infectious and irresistible power of girlhood.

Last summer caused a vibe shift. Culture started catering to women. Let’s be real: Women have been the drivers of pop culture for a long time. I, for one, will never forget that artists like The Beatles and Elvis, who are still taken seriously as iconic musical artists today, caused fanatical frenzies, not unlike artists like Justin Bieber and One Direction. Yet, despite our clear good taste, women have historically been written off as fickle while culture catered to men.

Just think of how the 2000s were defined by blockbuster summer movies. Usually, an action movie would dominate, followed by a “chick flick” that was relegated to date nights or the whims of teenage girls. Yet, when
Barbenheimer resurrected this dynamic, one had a clear chokehold on the internet and the world. And since I haven’t seen Oppenheimener-flavored Olipops, no prizes for guessing which one it was.

This summer isn’t defined by movies (Twisters and It Ends With Us aren’t the Barbenheimer redux we wanted) it’s characterized by music. And while the guys gave it the old college try — Kendrick did release the ultimate hater anthem with Not Like Us in the Spring — the girls take it yet again.

And despite seasonal albums from established pop stars like
Dua Lipa and Ariana Grande, queer (or queer-coded) female artists have blown up this summer. All of them have also been grafting behind the scenes for years before finally getting their flowers. But now the world is listening. We’re learning. And we’re obsessed.

Of course, there’s the princess of the summer,
Sabrina Carpenter, who is the latest Disney veteran to make it big. We’ll get to her Disney drama later, but this summer, it’s all about our Short n Sweet queen’s infectious earworms. We called it earlier this year: she is the moment. Her rise to fame has been inevitable.

Then there’s the surprise star of the year,
Chappell Roan. So glad bisexual women decided not to gatekeep this absolute star. The fact that I’ve been listening to Chappell since 2020 and I’m still not tired of “Pink Pony Club” says a lot.

    But
Charli XCX’s mainstream moment is arguably the most surprising. Charli is a giant to music lovers and, of course, the queer community. A real dyed-in-the-wool party girl, she grew up in the clubs and doesn’t just talk the talk, she throws the parties. Despite her collaborations with literally everyone, her Grammys, and her hits, Charli XCX is only now becoming a household name. Why? Because we’re finally ready for her.

Girlhood is brat. Brat is girlhood. Girl, it’s so confusing, but it’s about being a girl

Girlhood is the name of the game and Charli writes for the girls and the gays. Her album speaks to the desire to hold on to the feeling of youth juxtaposed with the realities of growing up. Who can’t relate? She talks about themes integral to girlhood: going on vacation and thinking it will change your life, going to a party and thinking it will change your life, and having dinner with a girl and thinking she hates you.

    @thepopupdates The best duo everrrr #charlixcx #lorde #girlsoconfusing #brat #popmusic #music #foryou #foryoupage #fyp #viral ♬ original sound – Pop Throwbacks & Updates

The latter was the impetus for the internet-breaking track “The girl, so confusing version with lorde.” After Charli released the original version of “girl, so confusing,” the internet rightly assumed it was about her years-long pseudo-beef with
Lorde. Lyrics like: “I’m all about throwing parties / You’re all about writing poems,” and “People say we’re alike, they say we’ve got the same hair,” added fuel to the fire of their reported feud. So imagine our surprise when Charli released a version with Lorde herself. Like Miss Ella, honestly, we were speechless.

Lorde knew what she was doing when she said: “When we put this to bed, the internet will go crazy.” Sure enough, the internet erupted. And it did the same once again when footage was released of the two scream-singing their instant classic of a collab at Charli’s birthday party. What a way to put the feud rumors to bed.

Will Sabrina Carpenter and Olivia Rodrigo work it out on the remix?

After Lorde and Charli worked out their decade of competition over a Jack Antonoff beat, the internet speculated: who would be next to quell their beef with the power of song? If it seems like the plot of a Disney movie, get in for the ride — the Disney of it all has just begun.

A few weeks ago, sources reported that former Disney stars turned stadium-selling pop stars Olivia Rodrigo and Sabrina Carpenter might be collaborating on a song. With the upcoming release of Carpenter’s highly anticipated album sneaking up on us, fans speculate that this could be a surprise track waiting on the record.

If you don’t understand how earth-shattering this is, let me take you back to 2021, when
Olivia Rodrigo first took the world by storm with her song “drivers license.” The song, and subsequent album, chronicled her heartbreak about how her costar and ex-boyfriend Joshua Bassett left her for “that blonde girl.” The blonde in question? Sabrina Carpenter.

That’s right. Our very own me espresso was the villain in
the “drivers license” saga. And you mean to tell me the two of them have put their boy drama aside to collaborate? Please, please, please tell me if this is true. If it is, I’ll be sat watching it unfold. As if I needed another reason to eagerly await the release of Short N Sweet.

In the meantime, I’m making a list and checking it twice about all the other celebs I want to see quell their beef. And yes, the list gets more and more unhinged as you go down, tis the summer of collabs. And our favorite artists are proving that magic can be made if they do it together. Billie and Charli did it. Kendrick and the entire rap community did it. Who is next?

People we want to see work it out on the remix:

    One Direction

This is my ultimate dream. The
Paris Olympics may have made you fantasize about what life would be like if you hadn’t quit JV basketball, but it made me dream about seeing my beloved One Direction again. After all, I can’t watch an opening ceremony without thinking about their performance at the 2012 London Games. Stranger things have happened than a boyband reuniting. The second they announce a tour, I’m quitting my job and dedicating my life to following them around on tour. Hold me to that.

    Hilary Duff and Lindsay Lohan

The Sabrina Carpenter and Olivia Rodrigo feud is the closest our generation will ever get to experiencing the magnitude of drama caused by Lindsay Lohan and Hilary Duff. As the two defining Disney sensations turned movie stars of their time, Duff and Lohan were pitted against each other by the media. Everybody knew it: the two were rivals in their careers and in their relationships. We’ll never experience that kind of TMZ-stoked animosity again. But we’re older now. Duff and Lohan are both in new phases of their careers. If they worked it, the (millennial side of the) internet really would go crazy.

    Shawn Mendes and Justin Bieber

These two divas have been competing to be the prince of pop for years. And their silent feud runs deep. In a radio interview at the beginning of Shawn’s career, Justin responded to a question about the other Canadian crooner with the dismissive and deadly, “who’s Shawn Mendes?” Then, after Mendes appeared with Hailey Baldwin at the Met Gala in 2018, Bieber quickly reignited his relationship with our favorite nepo baby and married her. Talk about winning the battle. The two already have a song together, “
Monster,” but no one is buying that they’ve really worked it out. I want to see Shawn at Justin and Hailey’s baby shower or bust.

    Justin Bieber and Harry Styles

Speaking of pop feuds, Bieber and Styles have been toeing a tension-laden line since 2012. Rumors swirled that One Direction was supposed to open for Bieber on his
Believe tour but the plans were canceled — and dreams died. Reasons abound as to why but I suppose we’ll never know. As someone who attended that Believe tour, I have been waiting for them to work it out on the remix ever since.

Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato and Miley Cyrus and The Jonas Brothers

Other feuds from my childhood I want fixed: the Disney Channel stars involved in the seminal sustainability single, “Send It On.” That was our Fleetwood Mac
Rumors. With loyalties crossed, relationships breaking friendships, and a whole lot of teen angst going on, the Disney Channel producers had one song and one song only to change lives. While we were watching “Send It On” play during Disney breaks, we had no clue about the drama simmering beneath the surface. But imagine if they put that to bed? The internet would go crazy.

    Joe Jonas and Taylor Swift

Of all of Taylor’s exes, she’s clearly already worked it out with Taylor Lautner — who was backflipping across her Eras tour stages for a brief stint last summer. But the reconciliation I really want is between Taylor and Joe. Sure, she’s written some scathing songs about him. And she told the world on
Ellen that he broke up with her in 17 seconds. And she’s befriended Sophie Turner. But for a brief moment, Taylor made up with Kanye West, so stranger things have happened. Can you imagine a mashup between “SOS” by The Jonas Brothers and “The Story of US” by Taylor Swift? My Spotify Wrapped would become unshareable.

    Katy Perry and Taylor Swift

Though allegedly this feud started due to the backup dancers, Perry has become one of
Swift’s famed list of enemies. And as the queen of “Karma,” Swifties know that all of Taylor’s adversaries never fare well — just look at Ye or Scooter Braun. Katy Perry’s comeback might be another one of these casualties. Ouch. If the two managed to reconcile their “Bad Blood,” imagine the album Katy Perry would create.

    Nelly Furtado and Fergie

    Remember the song “
Give It To Me” by Timbaland, Nelly Furtado, and Justin Timberlake? Thanks to TikTok, the song experienced a recent resurgence. But did you know the entire song is a diss track? Justin Timberlake’s verse is about Prince (more insane than “what tour? The world tour”), Timbaland’s verse is about Scott Storch, and Nelly Furtado’s verse is about Fergie. But what if we stopped pitting two pop icons against each other and instead begged them both to have a comeback … together?

    The Don’t Worry Darling Cast

    The
Don’t Worry Darling press tour pitted all our favorite stars against each other in the public arena: Harry Styles, Florence Pugh, Olivia Wilde, Chris Pine, and Gemma Chan. And while that trainwreck of a movie doesn’t need a sequel, I would animatedly watch one just to keep keen eyes on the press tour.

The It Ends With Us Cast

If we thought there would never be another press tour as dramatic as
Don’t Worry Darling, Justin Baldoni of the It Ends With Us cast just hired Johnny Depp’s lawyer — so it’s inarguably surpassed its dramatic predecessor. With Blake Lively and Baldoni both waging a press war, some are hoping It Ends With Us will just … end. But I need a little entertainment to tide me over into fall. And if the movie itself won’t provide it, the hope of a last-gasp reconciliation might.

    Kendrick Lamar and Drake

I know this will never happen. In fact, if it did, I’d
lose some respect for Kendrick, honestly. But sometimes I like to imagine that all of this was just marketing for a joint album a la “Watch the Throne.”

Here’s How Sophie Turner Really Feels About Joe Jonas ‘Moving On’ With a Model

    [ad_1]

Despite their highly publicized divorce last September, Sophie Turner’s response to Joe Jonas and Stormi Bree’s relationship has been nothing but positive. The Game of Thrones actress is reportedly “relieved” to see her ex-husband putting himself back out there.

As per a source who spoke to OK! magazine, “She’s not bothered with who Joe is seeing. She’s relieved to see him moving on.” Which, at the end of the day, makes sense: the 27-year-old actress has been dating British aristocrat Peregrine Pearson since October 2023, and is reportedly “very happy” herself in her new relationship. “Sophie has been casually dating a few people since her split from Joe,” a source told Us Weekly in December 2023, adding that The X-Men: Dark Phoenix star “really seems to like spending time with Perry.”

In December 2023, a source told the Daily Mail that Joe was also “happy” to see Sophie moving on. “Joe supports whatever choices she makes and if she is happy, he is happy,” the insider said at the time. It’s nice to hear that this sentiment applies both ways, as Sophie gets closer to Perry and Joe explores his new relationship.

Speaking of which: the Jonas Brothers frontman has been linked to model and internet personality Stormi Bree since December 2023, and it seems that things have been steadily picking up steam since. The paparazzi caught the pair cozying up together during a sun-soaked getaway to Mexico in early January 2024. In the photos obtained by Page Six, the duo was spotted at a private airport in Cabo San Lucas on January 3, with another sighting showing them hitting the slopes in Aspen, Colorado the following day.

According to an insider who spoke to US Weekly at the time, Joe’s connection with Stormi is still in its early stages. “Joe is enjoying spending time with Stormi. His main priority and focus will always be his children, but at the same time, he’s putting himself out there and is open to what’s to come,” the source revealed. “Things are still very new, but he’s happy and he’s open to seeing where things go.”

These new beginnings come just a few months after Sophie and Joe called it quits on their marriage. “After four wonderful years of marriage we have mutually decided to amicably end our marriage,” the former couple wrote in a joint statement shared on September 6, 2023. “There are many speculative narratives as to why, but truly this is a united decision, and we sincerely hope that everyone can respect our wishes for privacy for us and our children.” The pair, who got married in 2019 after three years of dating, share two daughters—Willa, born in 2020, and Delphine, born in 2022.

Shortly after their divorce was announced, Sophie and Joe found themselves in a bitter custody battle over their two children. Sophie sued her ex, claiming he “abducted” their daughters by refusing to allow her to bring them to the U.K., where she is from. In October 2023, however, the pair reached a temporary custody agreement. On January 18, 2024, multiple reports confirmed that Sophie’s lawsuit against Joe was dismissed, indicating that the pair are on better terms now. Here’s to mature breakups!

  • Here’s How Joe Jonas Really Feels About Sophie Turner Dating After Their Divorce

Here’s How Joe Jonas Really Feels About Sophie Turner Dating After Their Divorce

    [ad_1]

As contentious as their divorce was, it looks like Joe Jonas’ response to Sophie Turner and Peregrine Pearson’s relationship has been surprisingly positive. Apparently, the Jonas Brothers frontman fully “supports” his ex-wife in her new dating endeavors.

“Joe supports whatever choices she makes and if she is happy, he is happy,” a source told the Daily Mail. “He loves his girls and his time with them and is about to wrap up [the Jonas Brothers] tour tomorrow night in Brooklyn,” the insider added, referring to Joe’s children with the Game of Thrones actress. The pair, who were married for four years before calling it quits in September 2023, share split custody of their daughters Willa, 3, and Delphine, 1.

The insider’s comments came just days after Sophie was photographed kissing her new beau, who goes by Perry, for the second time in weeks. The pair first made headlines when they were spotted locking lips while out on a stroll in London in October 2023, just two months after Sophie and Joe’s highly publicized divorce and custody battle began making headlines.

According to the Daily Mail’s source, however, Joe and Sophie are on “good terms” from here on out. “He is doing great,” the source said of Sophie’s ex, adding, “The two of them have come to a place of mutual understanding and they will always have love for each other.”

Meanwhile, Sophie is enjoying her time with her new flame. The X-Men: Dark Phoenix actress is “very happy” with Perry, according to Us Weekly. “Sophie has been casually dating a few people since her split from Joe,” a source told the outlet, before noting that she “really seems to like spending time with Perry.”

“Things are still fairly new,” the source added. “But she’s really happy with how things are moving along.” While the insider added that it’s still “too soon to tell if there’s long term potential” between the couple, it looks as though “things might be headed that way.”

Sophie’s second public outing with Perry comes three months after she announced her split from Joe. “After four wonderful years of marriage we have mutually decided to amicably end our marriage,” the former couple wrote in a joint statement shared on September 6, 2023. “There are many speculative narratives as to why, but truly this is a united decision, and we sincerely hope that everyone can respect our wishes for privacy for us and our children.”

In the weeks after announcing their divorce, Sophie and Joe began a bitter custody battle over their two children. The actress sued her ex after claiming he was preventing her from bringing their daughters over to her home country of the U.K. By October 2023, however, the pair reached a temporary custody agreement, which states that their daughters would alternate their time between both of their parents’ homes in the U.S. and the U.K.

“After a productive and successful mediation, we have agreed that the children will spend time equally in loving homes in both the U.S. and the U.K.,” the pair said in a joint statement at the time. “We look forward to being great coparents.” According to their court documents, the temporary agreement lasts until January 7, 2024.

  • Why are we so quick to slam women for moving on after a break-up?

Why are we so quick to slam women for moving on after a break-up?

    [ad_1]

    Dave Benett

But this time, it’s the thought of Sophie moving on ‘too quickly’ with another man after the breakdown of her relationship, as though she should remain in a period of chastity and mourning until her divorce is finalised and she’s legally allowed to exercise her sexual autonomy again – but not too much, mind.

It’s a sexist ritual we’ve seen play out repeatedly with rebound relationships: the women are labelled ‘nasty’, ‘crazy’ and ‘sluts’; while the men are painted as desolate wounded souls, innocent victims of the woman’s rampant promiscuity. They are the ones flooded with support and actively encouraged to move on. If Joe was the one reportedly moving on post-split, do you think he’d be receiving the same backlash? If history is anything to go by (Miley and Liam, anyone?), I think not.

In fact, men – famous or otherwise – are rarely demonised for moving from one sexual partner to another (to another). The more beautiful women they hook up with, the better. When women do it, we’re slut-shamed. We’re whores, cheaters, terrible mothers, the reason the relationship broke down. We’re the problem. In Sophie’s case, this isn’t just happening in private WhatsApp chats, but across the internet. I can’t imagine how invasive and unsettling that must feel.

Let’s not forget that though Sophie and Joe may have lived their relationship in very public domain, we don’t know what happened in their marriage or the reasons why it broke down, and we’re not entitled to know, either. It’s quite literally none of our business. Neither is who they choose to shack up with afterwards.

Isn’t it time we moved past the deeply misogynistic slut-shaming and just accept that women are allowed to move on however quickly they like after a break-up? Instead of calling Sophie a home-wrecker, let’s call her what she is: a grown woman free to make her own damn decisions.

  • Sophie Turner Throws Shade at Joe Jonas With Her Friendship Bracelet, and I’m Inspired

Sophie Turner Throws Shade at Joe Jonas With Her Friendship Bracelet, and I’m Inspired

    [ad_1]

As if celebrity breakups aren’t chaotic enough, Sophie Turner has made a pointed statement with the most unexpected fashion accessory amid her impending divorce from Joe Jonas. On Oct. 8, in a now-expired Instagram Story, the “Game of Thrones” actress showed the world her strong allegiance to superstar best friend Taylor Swift with a picture of a friendship bracelet that read “Fearless.” In this case, the word is far from a mere adjective, but also the name of Swift’s 2008 album and the cult-favorite song that discusses the ideal “best first date,” which is the total opposite of Turner’s situation and perhaps a presumptuous tactic to add fuel to an already-blazing fire.

It’s quite the statement to turn the idea of a friendship bracelet on its head.

Friendship bracelets, no longer a thing of the past, have made a comeback, thanks to Swift, with a slight departure from their intended meaning. Initially used as a symbol to honor the time, energy, and love put into a beautiful relationship, Swifties have rocked the nostalgic piece to chronicle moments at Swift’s successful Eras tour, and fans of Beyoncé and the Jonas Brothers have followed suit. Meanwhile, Turner used the accessory to quietly shade her soon-to-be ex, not just on this occasion, but even at a Jonas Brothers concert in August, where she sported a bracelet that read “Mr. Perfectly Fine,” another one of Swift’s signature breakup anthems allegedly about Jonas.

It seems that since the divorce, the “Speak Now” artist and the actress have grown increasingly close, with their friendship having started in 2019, ironically around the time that Jonas and Turner got married. And since news broke of the couple’s split in September, the actor has reportedly been living in Swift’s New York City apartment with her two daughters, according to ET. Swift and Turner have also embarked on many dinner dates in casual ensembles, including Turner’s Jake Shane TikTok sweatshirt and Swift’s Reformation knit dress and boots combination.

While Swift and Turner appear to stay positive when photographed, considering the circumstances, it’s quite the statement to turn the idea of a friendship bracelet on its head, as Turner so candidly did with her post — don’t you think?

  • Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas Reach Temporary Child Custody Agreement In Divorce

Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas Reach Temporary Child Custody Agreement In Divorce

    [ad_1]

Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas, news of whose contentious divorce broke in early September, have reached a temporary child custody agreement that will allow their two daughters to split time with them, extending until early 2024. They have until December 23 of this year to update what will happen beyond the interim order, People reported.

Turner and Jonas are splitting up after four years of marriage, and have two young daughters: three-year-old Willa and 15-month-old Delphine. When Jonas initially filed for divorce in Florida, records indicated that he would ask for joint custody. However, in mid-September, Turner filed a lawsuit in Manhattan asking that the children be returned to her immediately, saying that Jonas refused to surrender their passports to allow them to return to her native England with Turner. (Jonas previously called Turner’s claim “misleading,” saying in a statement that she had demanded that Jonas “hand over the children’s passports so that she could take them out of the country immediately,” and that he was “seeking shared parenting with the kids so that they are raised by both their mother and father…in the US and the UK.”) A court order then required the children to stay in New York for the time being.

Turner and Jonas, according to the new documents, “engaged in a productive mediation from Oct. 4-7,” leading to a new interim custody plan.

Turner will have custody of the children from October 9 to 21, and they will be permitted to travel throughout the United States and England. Jonas has the same travel rules for his time with the kids, the first period of which is October 21 to November 2. Turner then has the children from November 2 to 22, Jonas takes another turn from November 22 to December 16, and then Turner has custody over the holidays, from December 16 to January 7.

The couple is to undergo further mediation and submit a letter with a status update and further custody plans by December 23, before the interim plan has run its full course.

Jonas’ initial divorce filing, which claimed the marriage was “irretrievably broken,” noted that “a parenting plan should be established, which addresses all parenting issues and contains a timesharing schedule providing for frequent and continuing contact with both parties. The children have been residing with their father in Miami and other locations throughout the United States.”

In Turner’s following custody lawsuit, she claimed that the children were being “wrongfully retained” and shared a detailed timeline of where the couple and their children had lived, as well as the agreement she said she and Jonas had made to call England a permanent home for themselves and their children. In the filing, she said that she had agreed “with hesitation” to the children traveling with Jonas on tour while she filmed her most recent project, Joan, abroad.

Jonas continues his world tour with his band, the Jonas Brothers, while Turner has been spotted around New York as of late, occasionally alongside Taylor Swift, who reportedly made her New York City apartment available to Turner and her children.

Sophie Turner Returns to Instagram With a Little Help From Taylor Swift

    [ad_1]

In further proof that Taylor Swift is the patron saint of mid-divorce pals, Sophie Turner’s first Instagram activity since her joint statement announcing her impending divorce from Joe Jonas could not be more heavily Taylor-coded.

In a now-vanished Instagram story, Turner posted a photo of her wrist with a beaded friendship bracelet reading “Fearless.” It’s the name of a Swift album, obviously, but a strong message from a woman in the midst of a contentious divorce and custody battle over the couple’s two young daughters.

Turner has stayed silent on socials since the news broke, while Jonas has posted several shots of himself and his brothers on their current world tour on his Instagram. Turner is far from being in hiding, though: She has been spotted out several times with Swift, including dinners with the singer solo and with the Haim sisters, as well as in Swift’s jam-packed suite at the Kansas City Chiefs-New York Jets game a week ago.

Of course, this isn’t the first time Turner has sported a Swifty-style friendship bracelet with an “omg does she mean….” message: Before news of her split with Jonas, she was spotted wearing a beaded bracelet reading “Mr. Perfectly Fine” at a Jonas Brothers concert in New York City—the title, of course, of Swift’s breakup anthem, allegedly about their now-mutual ex, Joe. (Also, since Swifties love an Easter Egg, a vault track off Fearless (Taylor’s Version), to tie it all up nicely with an elastic-stringed bow.)

Jonas and Turner were married for four years and have two young daughters. According to a lawsuit filed by Turner over custody of the children, the split was sudden, with the relationship hitting a breaking point after an argument on Jonas’ birthday, and Turner found out that Jonas had filed for divorce “through the media.” Turner, 27, is suing Jonas in an attempt to move the children to England with her permanently, as she claimed the couple had decided before divorce proceedings began.

Joe Jonas, Sophie Turner agree to keep kids in N.Y. amid divorce – National | Globalnews.ca

    [ad_1]

Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner have tentatively agreed to keep their two children in New York as the former couple continues with their divorce proceedings.

Turner, 27, and Jonas, 34, agreed to an interim consent order on Monday. The order will ensure their two daughters — three-year-old Willa and a one-year-old child identified only as D. — remain in New York pending another court order. This includes all five boroughs in New York City, Long Island and counties in Westchester.

The agreement came after Turner filed a petition to sue her soon-to-be ex-husband over the return of their children to their “habitual home” in England. Turner claimed Jonas refused to surrender the children’s passports.

In her petition, Turner demanded “the immediate return of children wrongfully removed or wrongfully retained” by Jonas.

    Story continues below advertisement

While Turner was in the U.K. filming a new drama series, Jonas had reportedly been travelling with their children and a nanny as his band, the Jonas Brothers, toured through the U.S.

If the new order is broken, the court said it will take the appropriate legal measures to “protect the well-being of the child involved or to prevent the child’s further removal or concealment before the final disposition of the petition.”

The agreement between Jonas and Turner was made “without prejudice,” meaning it cannot be used as ammunition in the couple’s divorce proceedings.

The celebrity couple, who were married for four years, announced they were getting divorced on Sept. 6. At the time, through a statement posted on their individual Instagram accounts, they called their split “amicable” and a “united decision.”

    Story continues below advertisement

So far, Jonas and Turner do not seem united. When a slew of negative stories about Turner came out in the press in the days surrounding the divorce announcement, many pointed fingers at Jonas, accusing him of planting stories about Turner being a bad mom and partying too much.

Jonas has adamantly denied the claims, saying in a statement that he “has already disavowed any and all statements purportedly made on his behalf that were disparaging of Sophie. They were made without his approval and are not consistent with his views.”

The singer said he and Turner had seemingly reached a co-parenting agreement last week.

In a concert this month, Jonas encouraged his fans not to listen to the gossip about his divorce.

“If you don’t hear it from these lips, don’t believe it, OK?” Jonas said while on stage in Los Angeles on Sept. 9. “Thank you everyone for their love and support to me and my family.”
