25 holiday TV offerings to watch, ranging from comedies to rom-coms and cozy mysteries

Whether you prefer something naughty, like the animated movie “Grandma Got Ran Over By a Reindeer” or nice, like classics “The Sound of Music” and “Home Alone,” streamers, cable and broadcast networks offer up festive choices in December.
Highlights this year include music specials with Derek Hough and Jimmy Fallon, the Rockefeller Tree lighting hosted by Reba McEntire, Lacey Chabert’s latest Hallmark Channel movie, NFL games and even cozy mysteries with a Christmas theme.
Here are some highlights.
Dec. 1
— “Dancing with the Stars” judge Derek Hough hosts the annual “The Wonderful World of Disney: Holiday Spectacular” on ABC. Popular recording artists including Nicole Scherzinger, Gwen Stefani, Trisha Yearwood and Mariah the Scientist put their own spin on Christmas classics. Streams next day on Hulu and Disney+.
Dec. 3
— Reba McEntire hosts NBC’s annual “Christmas in Rockefeller Center” which culminates in the lighting of the giant Christmas tree in New York’s Rockefeller Center. This year’s tree is a Norway spruce from Greenbush, New York. It has more than 50,000 colored lights and is topped with a Swarovski star that weighs 900 pounds. The special will also stream live on Peacock.
— Some people find holiday prep daunting. It comes naturally to Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, whose life seems to be a Pinterest page. She’s got ideas to share in a special episode of Netflix’s “With Love, Meghan” lifestyle series. In “With Love, Meghan: Holiday Celebration,” Meghan taps guests including Naomi Osaka and Tom Colicchio to bake, make treats with holiday flair and craft. “Being a hostess or a host, it’s about making people feel comfortable,” the royal says.
Dec. 5
— In the new Apple TV special, “The First Snow of Fraggle Rock,” the Fraggles are anxiously waiting for snow to kick off their festive season. Instead, a single snowflake falls, leaving Gobo, feeling uninspired to write an annual holiday song. For the first time, he ventures into the human world to seek out ideas. The special is a reminder that unplanned moments can also come with their own magic.
— Roku Channel has a follow-up to the holiday romance “Jingle Bell Love” starring Joey McIntyre of New Kids on the Block and Michelle Morgan. In “Jingle Bell Wedding,” Jack and Jessica are engaged and looking forward to a New Year’s Eve wedding. They’re also in charge of organizing an annual Christmas concert. Will all the planning derail their relationship?
Dec. 6
— Lacey Chabert works for Santa Claus in the new Hallmark Channel movie “She’s Making a List.” Chabert plays Isabel, whose job is to track kids’ behavior throughout the year. Isabel’s strict rules lighten up a bit when she’s assigned to report on an 11-year-old whose father Jason (Andrew Walker) is a widower. Chabert and Walker previously co-starred in a Valentine’s Day movie for Hallmark in 2018. “She’s Making a List” also streams on Hallmark+.
— The OWN original, “The Christmas Showdown,” reunites Amber Stevens West and Corbin Reid from the acclaimed Starz comedy “Run the World.” They play former besties competing for the same job who learn it’s better to work as a team. Loretta Devine also stars.
Dec. 7
— How about a cozy mystery this Christmas? UPtv offers the new film “A Christmas Murder Mystery.” Vera Vexley is a puzzle editor for her local newspaper who also has a side-gig as a detective. When Vera’s invited to spend the holidays with family friends, a murder launches her into investigative-mode and everyone is a suspect.
Dec. 9
— A new two-hour, faith-based special tells the story of Mary, Joseph and the birth of Jesus in “Kevin Costner Presents: The First Christmas” for ABC. The Oscar winner serves as host and narrator.
Dec. 10
— Zooey Deschanel and Charlie Cox co-star in a new holiday rom-com called “Merv” for Prime Video. The pair play exes who share joint custody of their dog Merv. When Merv is visibly depressed because his human parents are no longer together, they take him on a trip to cheer him up.
— The animated movie “Grandma Got Run Over By a Reindeer” is an adaptation on the farcical song of the same name. In the special, airing on The CW Network, a boy sets out to find his missing grandmother on Christmas Eve.
Dec. 11
— The Dolly Parton song, “Coat of Many Colors” comes to life in a TV movie airing for the first time on the CW. Set against the Smoky Mountains in the 1950s, it’s about the Parton family and how their love, faith — and a patchwork coat — help them to move past tragedy. Alyvia Alyn Lind plays young Dolly and Jennifer Nettles and Rick Schroeder portray her mom and dad. “Dolly Parton’s Coat of Many Colors” originally debuted in 2015.
— Jimmy Fallon’s musical comedy special from last year gets a repeat. In “Jimmy Fallon’s Holiday Seasoning Spectacular,” the “Tonight Show” host searches a New York apartment building for the holiday spirit and encounters different celebrity guests behind each door. Jonas Brothers, Justin Timberlake, LL Cool J, the Roots and “Weird Al” Yankovic all appear.
Dec. 12
— AMC’s annual holiday programming includes a marathon of Will Ferrell’s “Elf” beginning at 6 p.m. It broadcasts back-to-back for eight-hours.
Dec. 13
— Apple TV streams the beloved favorite “A Charlie Brown Christmas” for free on Dec. 13 and Dec. 14.
— In “A Suite Holiday Romance” for Hallmark Channel, Jessy Schram stars a ghostwriter who checks-in to a fancy New York hotel for a job writing a memoir. She meets a handsome Brit (Dominic Sherwood) and the two experience a series of misunderstandings until they realize they’re meant to be.
Dec. 14
— HGTV returns to the White House at Christmas for a one-hour special that goes behind-the-scenes of its decorating transformation at the holidays. It also streams next day on HBO Max and Discovery+.
— On the first night of Hanukkah, Hallmark Channel premieres the new movie “Oy to the World!” When the pipes burst at a local synagogue, a church opens its doors for an interfaith service. Brooke D’Orsay and Jake Epstein play choir directors who were also rivals in high school that must work together to put on a successful event for all.
Dec. 15
— Acorn TV has a two-part Christmas special of “The Madame Blanc Mysteries” airing Dec. 15 and Dec. 22. British actor Sally Lindsay plays antique dealer Jean White, who visits the France museum Maison Sainte-Victoire on Christmas Eve to authenticate an Ormolu box once owned by Marie Antoinette. It’s discovered that the box contains a ticking time bomb and Jean and her team have just 90 minutes to diffuse it.
Dec. 16
— “The Nutcracker” ballet is a Christmas classic, and PBS is offering a reimagined version taped at the London Coliseum. Still set to Tchaikovsky’s score, this version centralizes Clara’s story and is set in Edwardian London where a street scene has dancing chimney sweeps and suffragettes. “Great Performances: Nutcracker from English National Ballet” will also be available for streaming on PBS.org and the PBS app.
Dec. 20
— Lifetime is jumping on the pickleball popularity bandwagon with the new movie “A Pickleball Christmas.” It stars James Lafferty as a tennis pro whose family’s racquet club is on the brink of closing its doors. He and a tennis instructor take part in a holiday tournament to save the day.
Dec. 21
— Tate Donovan and Jillian Murphy star in a new Christmas movie for Great American Family called “Mario Lopez Presents: Chasing Christmas.” In the film, Donovan plays a morning show host and Murphy a designer who team up to make a child’s Christmas wish come true. Lopez’s son Dominic also has a role.
— The Julie Andrews and Christopher Plummer classic “The Sound of Music” airs on ABC.
Dec. 24
— “Home Alone” airs on ABC. The film made Macaulay Culkin a child star for playing a boy whose parents accidentally leave him home when their large family hurries off on a Christmas vacation. He’s left to defend his house against two clumsy burglars.
Dec. 25
— Netflix is gifting us with football on Christmas again this year. The Dallas Cowboys vs. Washington Commanders game is at 1 p.m. Eastern followed by the Detroit Lions vs. Minnesota Vikings at 4:30 p.m. Eastern.

KPOP Demon Hunters fans countdown to live ‘Golden’ performance | The Mary Sue

Huntr/x is ready for their big live-action moment on Jimmy Fallon’s show! The Netflix juggernaut that is KPOP Demon Hunters just keeps rolling along. This weekend, the trio that play Rumi, Zoey, and Mira popped-up on Saturday Night Live as a part of Bad Bunny’s hosting stint on the show. EJAE, Audrey Nuna, and Rei Ami provide the voices for the Huntr/x trio. The live studio audience was over the moon to see them pop-up live.
As you can see from the video right here, seeing the KPOP Demon Hunters singers crossover with Bad Bunny was probably going to melt the Internet from the word go. In that short clip, Huntr/x is singing “How It’s Done,” the first song they perform in the Netflix mega-hit. But, that’s not the song they’ll be hitting the stage with tonight. (That’s amazing considering that “How It’s Done” hit the Billboard Hot 100 with 3 other tracks from the musical this summer.)
Instead, Huntr/x will be performing “Golden” during The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. Massive KPOP Demon Hunters fans have had this date circled on their calendars for a little while now. EJAE, Rei Ami, and Audrey Nuna teased the first performance of “Golden” on the Tonight Show social media pages. Now, with the big day finally here, fans are going to look forward to a real-live Huntr/x concert on NBC’s signature late night show and available on social media later.
HUNTR/X Performs Golden for the first time
Last week, Netflix hosted a press conference for KPOP Demon Hunters that featured all three of these talented ladies. EJAE was asked about performing “Golden” live and immediately pointed to the team effort to pull off a live performance like this. She recently announced her own single, and all three women know how excited all the fans are for this massive performance.
EJAE told the assembled press, “Oh my god, rehearsals are incredible. We had so much fun. And, we’ve never sang together. I’m just learning from these ladies because they’re incredible artists themselves and performers. And, just the synergy with all of us. “Golden’s” a hard song!”

(Netflix) Despite all this talk about how daunting a live performance of “Golden” could be, the ladies are behind each other 100%. Audrey Nuna praised EJAE’s talent and mentioned learning from their ostensible lead singer during the rehearsal process.
“To sing this song for probably the first time in the world, maybe? In rehearsal? And, just to be in the presence of this, like, honestly generational talent is, for us… Just like, she learns from us, as she was saying. But, we also learn so much from everything that you do,” she told her bandmate.

Taylor Swift denies turning down Super Bowl halftime show

Taylor Swift says she never formally turned down the Super Bowl LX halftime show — although she wasn’t gunning for it, either.
On “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,” Swift said her team is very close with Jay-Z’s Roc Nation, which books the gig. Roc Nation sometimes calls to ask how she feels about a show before making a formal offer, she said. Though Roc Nation called to inquire about her interest in the Super Bowl, the pop star said she is too focused on her fiancé Travis Kelce’s performance during the NFL season to perform.

“We’re always able to tell (Roc Nation) the truth, which is that I am in love with a guy who does that sport on that actual field, like that is violent chess, that is gladiators without swords, that is dangerous,” Swift told Fallon on Monday night. “The whole season, I am locked in on what that man is doing on the field.”
There was speculation that Swift might do the halftime show after she got engaged to Kelce, who plays for the Kansas City Chiefs. One report said she was offered the chance, but that she turned it down because she wouldn’t own the performance footage. Rapper Bad Bunny was named as the performer in late September.
Swift has never performed at the Super Bowl halftime show. The original report said she previously was unable to perform because she had sponsorships that were in conflict with the NFL, but that she’s now available. However, Swift said it would feel odd to think about doing the show while Kelce was playing.
“Can you imagine if he’s out there every single week, putting his life on the line, doing this very dangerous, very high-pressure, high-intensity sport, and I’m like ‘I wonder what my choreo should be?’” Swift said. “This has nothing to do with Travis, he’d love for me to do it, I am just too locked in.”
Swift was asked about the halftime show during a segment in which Fallon had her confirm or deny online rumors about her life. She also shot down speculation that she was seen walking a mystery dog in Florida and that she had joked that Selena Gomez “beat her to the alter” during a wedding speech for her friend.
However, she did confirm reports that friend Ed Sheeran learned about her engagement on Instagram. After getting engaged, Swift said she was searching through her recent texts to find friends and family to call, and she accidentally missed Sheeran, because he doesn’t have a phone.
“This is one of my absolute favorite people on the planet, and then when the news came out I was like ‘Oh my god, we forgot to call Ed! Oh no,’” Swift said. “He’s like family, I love him, but he doesn’t have a phone.”

As Trump Targets Late Night, Jimmy Fallon Just Wants to Keep His “Head Down”

FCC chairman Carr threatened to take action against Kimmel in the wake of his comments. “This is a very, very serious issue right now for Disney. We can do this the easy way or the hard way,” Carr, who was appointed by Trump, told right-wing journalist Benny Johnson. “These companies can find ways to take action on Kimmel, or there is going to be additional work for the FCC ahead.”
Kimmel, who has led his eponymous series Jimmy Kimmel Live! since 2003, detailed the immediate aftermath of his temporary suspension while appearing on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert on September 30. The endeavor was an “emotional rollercoaster” for him and his family, Kimmel said. He added that as his show was pulled, executives told him, “‘We’re concerned about what you’re going to say tonight, and we decided that the best route is to take the show off the air.’ I thought, that’s it. It’s over, it’s over. I was like, ‘I’m never coming back on the air.’”
Colbert’s show will go off the air for good in May 2026, as announced in July. Though CBS assured audiences that the cancellation was “purely a financial decision,” the announcement was made shortly after Emmy-winner Colbert criticized CBS parent company Paramount Global for settling a $16 million lawsuit with Trump—just as Paramount Global landed FCC approval for a $8.4 billion merger with Skydance Media.
Trump celebrated Colbert’s Late Show ending, writing in July on Truth Social, “I absolutely love that Colbert got fired. His talent was even less than his ratings. I hear Jimmy Kimmel is next. Has even less talent than Colbert! [Fox News late night host] Greg Gutfeld is better than all of them combined, including the Moron on NBC who ruined the once great Tonight Show.”
Fallon, whom Trump has called a “total loser,” admitted in the wake of Colbert being axed that these are “crazy times” for late night shows. “I’m just as shocked as everyone,” Fallon said of the Late Night cancellation. “Stephen is one of the sharpest, funniest hosts to ever do it. I really thought I’d ride this out with him for years to come.”
Kimmel now cited Trump’s disdain as a bonding moment for himself and Colbert on September 30. “I am so honored to be here with my fellow no-talent, late-night loser,” Kimmel joked during a New York City live taping of Jimmy Kimmel Live!, as reported by NPR. “We thought it might be a fun way to drive the president nuts.”

Right at the beginning of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, the host asked Mark Wahlberg if he knew Kim Kardashian. After the actor responded positively, Fallon reminded him, saying, “Your family has a story involving Kim that doesn’t really involve Kim.”
“It has nothing to do with Kim but my kids,” Wahlberg shared. “I finally broke down and decided I was going to get my family, especially the kids, a dog,” recounting the events.
The Father Stu actor further talked about how he noticed a small dog in Beverly Hills and believed that it was a manageable dog for his home. “Is that the biggest the dog’s going to get?” he recalled the conversation with the dog’s owner. When the owner said yes, Wahlberg said he thought it was “perfect.”
After finding a similar dog, Wahlberg recalled saying to his kids to prepare them, “Somebody really important is coming today.” He added, “So immediately they go to my wife and say, ‘Kim Kardashian’s coming over today.’”
Mark Wahlberg stated, “My wife comes barging into this meeting. ‘Our house is a mess. You can’t have them over here with our house looking like this.’ I’m like, ‘Who? What are you talking about?’ She said, ‘They told me. The kids told me Kim’s coming over to the house.’ I said, ‘No, I got a dog,’” he shared, recalling the conversation.
“Then she got even more mad because she didn’t get to pick the kind of dog,” the BAFTA Award winner continued. “And I told her what kind of dog it was. She said, ‘That dog’s not coming in the house.’ I said, ‘Well, [then] you tell the kids when the dog gets here that the dog can’t come in the house,’” Wahlberg shared.
Talking about the day when the dog arrived, “The dog comes out of the crate, waddling out of the crate,” the Max Payne star shared. “My wife dives on the dog, basically squeezing the dog to death. And now we have six dogs in our house.”
Mark Wahlberg was on Jimmy Fallon’s talk show to promote his upcoming movie, Play Dirty. It is scheduled to release on October 1, 2025, on Prime Video.

Late Night Rallies Behind Jimmy Kimmel: “Tonight, We Are All Jimmy Kimmel”

Late-night television may be under attack, but its hosts are sticking together. On Wednesday evening, ABC announced that it was pulling Jimmy Kimmel’s long-running late-night series Jimmy Kimmel Live! off the air following comments Kimmel made about the murder of Charlie Kirk and pressure from FCC chair Brendan Carr. One day after Kimmel’s immediate and indefinite suspension, late-night hosts, including Stephen Colbert, Jon Stewart, and Seth Meyers, took to their desks and spoke out about the blatant attack on free speech.
Colbert knows a thing or two about being silenced by a network. Earlier this summer, Paramount abruptly announced that it was cancelling his Emmy-winning CBS late-night show, The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, after Colbert’s contract expires in May. The decision came as Paramount, CBS’s parent company, was waiting for government approval for an $8 billion merger with media conglomerate SkyDance. At the time, Kimmel and the other late-night hosts rallied around Colbert, appearing together on his show and calling out CBS and Paramount for potentially kowtowing to President Donald Trump, who had made his ire for Colbert and his comedy well-known.
Now it was time for Colbert to return the favor. “Tonight, we are all Jimmy Kimmel,” said Colbert to open his monologue. “Yesterday, after threats from the FCC chair, ABC yanked Kimmel off the air indefinitely. That is blatant censorship,” said Colbert. He then reminded the audience about Trump’s decision in his first week of his presidency to rename the Gulf of Mexico the Gulf of America. “Sure, seems harmless, but with an autocrat you cannot give an inch,” said Colbert, to loud cheers from the studio audience. “And if ABC thinks this is going to satisfy the regime, they are woefully naive. And clearly they never read the children’s book, If You Give A Mouse a Kimmel.”
Colbert than addressed Kimmel directly, saying he stands with the comedian and his staff amid the suspension, before joking that the brouhaha surrounding Kimmel has overshadowed The Late Show’s recent Emmy win for outstanding talk series. “You couldn’t let me enjoy this for like one week? Come on,” said Colbert, who was holding his Emmy.

Must See: Aidan Hutchinson Presents Jimmy Fallon With Special Gift on The Tonight Show

Following Sunday’s 52-21 beatdown of the Chicago Bears, Detroit Lions EDGE Aidan Hutchinson capped off his day in style with a surprise appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. The show was filmed at the Detroit Opera House, just hours after Hutchinson recorded his first sack of the season at Ford Field.
Though he didn’t appear until the very end of the episode, Hutchinson made sure to leave a lasting impression. The Pro Bowl pass rusher stormed the stage, wrapped Fallon in a giant bear hug, and presented him with an honorary Lions game ball.

Bottom line: Aidan Hutchinson didn’t just sack the Bears. He brought the Detroit energy to national TV, gifting Fallon a piece of the Lions’ win.

Google’s Pixel 10 phones raises the ante on artificial intelligence

Google on Wednesday unveiled a new line-up of Pixel smartphones injected with another dose of artificial intelligence that’s designed to do everything from fetch vital information stored on the devices to help improve photos as they’re being taken.
The AI expansion on the four Pixel 10 models amplifies Google’s efforts to broaden the use of a technology that is already starting to reshape society. At the same time, Google is taking a swipe at Apple’s Achilles’ heel on the iPhone.
Apple so far has only been able to introduce a few basic AI features on the iPhone while failing to deliver on last year’s promise to deliver a more conversational and versatile version of its often-blundering virtual assistant Siri.
Without mentioning the iPhone by name, Google has already been mocking Apple’s missteps in online ads promoting the four new Pixel models as smartphones loaded with AI technology that consumers won’t have to wait for more than a year to arrive.
“There has been a lot of hype about this and, frankly, a lot of broken promises, too,” Google executive Rick Osterloh said during a 75-minute presentation in New York about the new Pixel phones. The event was emceed by late-night TV show host Jimmy Fallon.
Google, in contrast, has been steadily increasing the amount of AI that it began to implant on its Pixels since 2023, with this year’s models taking it to another level.
“We think this yeasr we have a game-changing phone with game-changing technology,” Osterloh said.
Taking advantage of a more advanced processor, Google is introducing a new AI feature on the Pixel 10 phones called “Magic Cue” that’s designed to serve as a digital mind reader that automatically fetches information stored on the devices and displays the data at the time it’s needed. For instance, if a Pixel 10 user is calling up an airline, Magic Cue is supposed to instantaneously recognize the phone number and display the flight information if it’s in Gmail or a Google Calendar.
The Pixel 10 phones will also come with a preview feature of a new AI tool called “Camera Coach” that will automatically suggest the best framing and lighting angle as the lens is being aimed at a subject. Camera Coach will also recommend the best lens mode to use for an optimal picture.
The premium models — Pixel 10 Pro and Pixel 10 Pro XL — will also include a “Super Res” option that deploys a grab bag of software and AI tricks to zoom up to 100 times the resolution to capture the details of objects located miles away from the camera. The AI wizardry could happen without users even realizing it’s happening, making it even more difficult to know whether an image captured in a photo reflects how things really looked at the time a picture was taken or was modified by technology.
The Pixel 10 will also be able to almost instantaneously translate phone conversations into a range of different languages using the participants own voices.
Google is also offering a free one-year subscription to its AI Pro plan to anyone who buys the more expensive Pixel 10 Pro or Pixel 10 Pro XL models in hopes of hooking more people on the Gemini toolkit it has assembled to compete against OpenAI’s ChatGPT.
The prices on all four Pixel 10 models will remain unchanged from last year’s Pixel 9 generation, with the basic starting at $800 and the Pro selling for $1,000, the Pro XL at $1,200 and a foldable version at $1,800. All the Pixel 10s expect the foldable model will be in stores on August 28. The Pixel 10 Pro Fold will be available starting October 9.
Although the Pixel smartphone remains a Lilliputian next to the Gulliverian stature of the iPhone and Samsung’s Galaxy models, Google’s ongoing advances in AI while holding the line on its marquee devices raise the competitive stakes.
“In the age of AI, it is a true laboratory of innovation,” Forrester Research analyst Thomas Husson said of the Pixel.
Apple, in particular, will be facing more pressure than usual when it introduces the next-generation iPhone next month. Although the company has already said the smarter Siri won’t be ready until next year at the earliest, Apple will still be expected to show some progress in AI to demonstrate the iPhone is adapting to technology’s AI evolution rather than tilting toward gradual obsolescence. Clinging to a once-successful formula eventually sank the BlackBerry and its physical keyboard when the iPhone and its touch screen came along nearly 20 years ago.
Apple’s pricing of the next iPhone will also be under the spotlight, given that the devices are made in China and India — two of the prime targets in President Donald Trump’s trade war.
But Apple appeared to gain a reprieve from Trump’s most onerous threats earlier this month by adding another $100 billion on top of an earlier $500 billion investment pledge to the U.S. The tariff relief may enable Apple to minimize or even avoid price increases for the iPhone, just as Google has done with the Pixel 10 models.

Are “Dancing With the Stars,” “FBI” on this week? Election Day TV schedule

While Americans will choose between former President Donald Trump, the GOP nominee, and Vice President Kamala Harris, the Democratic nominee, they will also be choosing who takes 435 U.S. House and 34 U.S. Senate seats.
However, as the nation awaits the news of who wins the presidential election on Tuesday, November 5, regular TV programming could be impacted, and many popular shows will skip their weekly runtime completely.
Newsweek has compiled a full list of schedule changes you should expect for your favorite shows from Dancing With the Stars (DWTS) and FBI to late night TV.
Dancing With the Stars
Fans of DWTS will have to wait until Tuesday, November 12 to watch another episode because of Election Day.
During the show’s regularly scheduled time, ABC will instead be airing its election night coverage Election Night 2024: Your Voice/Your Vote. This will keep Americans updated with real-time updates on the Electoral College map and which candidate secures enough votes to become president.
FBI
FBI is also not airing as usual on Tuesday, November 5 because of Election Day coverage.
The show will be back on its regularly scheduled programming Tuesday, November 12, but for Election Day, viewers will instead be able to watch the CBS News: America Decides: Campaign ’24 Election Night program.
It often makes the most sense for TV networks to delay airing the next week’s episode as most Americans will be glued to election night coverage and would miss a new episode if it was scheduled as usual.
The Real Housewives of New York City
For those who rely on a dose of reality TV to get through any election season anxiety, there’s good news.
Bravo will continue to air The Real Housewives of New York City all throughout Election Night, from roughly 4 to 11 p.m., with a new episode airing at 9 p.m.
Married at First Sight
Fans of a different reality show, Lifetime’s Married at First Sight, have less than ideal scheduling news for the week of the election, however.
The show, which brings strangers together to marry upon their first meeting, is skipping a week, with episodes to return Tuesday, November 12.
1,000-lb Sisters
Another popular TLC reality show, 1,000-lb Sisters, will be pausing its programming this week as well.
So that means viewers will have to wait an extra week to catch up on what’s happening in the Slaton sisters’ lives.
The Voice
The Voice is also taking a break this week due to Election Night coverage. NBC will instead be keeping track of all breaking news updates related to the 2024 election.
Fans of the singing competition show will have to be patient, as the next episode resumes next week on Tuesday, November. 12.

Is Jimmy Kimmel on This Week?
While Jimmy Kimmel Live! is a fixture on ABC, he will not be airing his late-night episode as usual.
This is due to ABC blocking off the time for election night coverage instead.
However, starting on Wednesday, November 6, Kimmel will be back on his usual schedule, with guests Jon Favreau, Jon Lovitz, Dan Pfeiffer and Tommy Vietor as well as musical guest Alessia Cara.
Is Stephen Colbert on This Week?
The Late Show with Stephen Colbert is also following suit and opting against airing a new episode on Election Night.
The next episode is scheduled for Wednesday, November 6 with guest George Stephanopoulos and a music performance by Lenny Kravitz.
Is Seth Meyers on This Week?
Late Night With Seth Meyers is likewise taking a break on Tuesday for NBC’s Election Night coverage.
However, fans don’t have to wait long because Meyers will be back with his regularly scheduled episodes beginning Wednesday.
Is Jimmy Fallon on This Week?
Taking a nod from the other late night TV hosts, Jimmy Fallon is delaying the next episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon due to Election Day coverage.
But the next episode airing on Wednesday will be action packed with guests Whoopi Goldberg, Rosie Perez and Bailey Zimmerman.
Other Election Coverage
While the final results of this year’s election may not be available for several days, Tuesday’s vote counts will help Americans learn who’s leading in key swing states as well as across America.
ABC News will begin its coverage at 8 a.m. Tuesday, while CNN starts its election show at 5 p.m. Monday.
Fox News will also air its election coverage beginning at 6 p.m. on Monday, while MSNBC starts airing its election show at 5 a.m. Tuesday morning.
The last presidential election in 2020 took four days for officials to make a final call, mostly due to the prominence of mail-in ballots due to the coronavirus pandemic and social distancing.
For this year’s Election Day, most polling locations close around 7 p.m. or 8 p.m.

Tom Holland’s Spider-Man 4 Is Coming In 2026

The MCU’s favorite web-crawler will return to theaters in 2026. Spider-Man 4 will debut shortly after Avengers: Doomsday that year, with star Tom Holland confirming that production will begin mid-2025.
“Next summer we start shooting. Everything’s good to go, We’re nearly there,” Holland said in an interview on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon earlier this week. “Super exciting. I can’t wait!” Spider-Man 4, the follow up to 2021’s No Way Home, will officially release on July 24, 2026.
That puts it just a couple months after Avengers: Doomsday, which debuts on May 1 of that year, and stars Robert Downey Jr. as the titular Fantastic Four villain, as was revealed earlier this year at San Diego Comic Con 2024. That grouping recreates the previous one-two comic book punch when Far From Home released shortly after Avengers: Endgame, capping off the multi-year, multi-movie MCU saga.

The sequel will be directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, who made Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, and presumably have some tie-in with the greater MCU, though it’s not clear how exactly yet. “I’ve been speaking to [Robert Downey Jr.] a lot, especially about him making his [Marvel] return, which is super exciting,” Holland said on the Rich Roll podcast earlier this month. “That was a tough secret to sit on because I have a reputation for ruining things and I strategically have done no press.”
The young actor, who also starred in 2022’s Uncharted, an adaptation of the hit PlayStation games, said the script for Spider-Man 4 had him excited. “We have a creative and we have a pitch and a draft, which is excellent. It needs work, but the writers are doing a great job. I read it three weeks ago and it really lit a fire in me,” Holland told the Rich Roll podcast. “Zendaya and I sat down and read it together and we at times were bouncing around the living room like this is a real movie worthy of the fans’ respect.”
2026 is still a ways off and Insomniac Games recently confirmed that its Spider-Man 2 PS5 game won’t be getting any story DLC. The hit 2023 blockbuster will, however, be coming to PC next January.

TV Anchors who could be next to face the chop after Hoda Kotb’s surprising departure

Hoda Kotb’s shock announcement that she will be leaving Today after 17 years on the morning show has shone a light on the future of many of our favorite TV anchors, who are facing a critical time in their careers.
As TV networks tighten their belts thanks to economic issues and low ratings, high-profile stars will see changes not only to their contracts but to their shows on the whole.
Hoda wrote in a letter to staff on the show that she knew she was “making the right decision” to step away from Today, albeit a “painful one”.
“They say two things can be right at the same time, and I’m feeling that so deeply right now. I love you, and it’s time for me to leave the show,” she said in the letter.
She continued, “My broadcast career has been beyond meaningful; a new decade of my life lies ahead, and now my daughters and my mom need and deserve a bigger slice of my time pie. I will miss you all desperately, but I’m ready and excited.”
She will leave the show early next year, but co-host Savannah Guthrie remains as her contract will last another year.
Another anchor with an uncertain future is MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow, who reportedly makes a whopping $30 million a year, although her contract is under review.
Rachel is a major drawcard for the network and has hosted her own show since 2008, but her $600,000 per episode salary may be cut next year.
“We have had a tremendous shake-up in how TV is delivered and received, and the business is going through a major struggle trying to retain and grow revenues,” Joe Peyronnin, a former television news executive, told the Wall Street Journal.

While Jimmy Fallon is safe until 2028, with his contract extended until then, and Stephen signed on until 2026, Jimmy Kimmel told the LA Times that he may not re-sign after his contract ends in 2025.

Only 30% of US adults use an antenna for broadcast TV.
The beloved Good Morning America could see hosts George Stephanopoulos and Robin Roberts’s contracts in limbo after they end next year; they both currently make $25 million, but after Disney, who owns the ABC network, told the show to cut costs by $19 million, their future hangs in the balance.

Prince Harry looked genuinely spooked during a Halloween experience with Jimmy Fallon.
The Duke of Sussex toured the Tonightmares haunted maze in New York City during an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
Fallon started the experience by asking Harry if he was easily scared. “Not normally, but today might be different,” the British royal responded.
By the end of the tour, Prince Harry was screaming and threatening to punch a resident ghoul, much to Fallon’s amusement. “My thanks to Prince Harry,” he laughed.
During the walk around the Tonightmares experience, the Duke of Sussex was recognized by some of the actors, shocking those providing the frights.

Clint Eastwood, the man’s got opinions, and he’s not afraid to share ’em, even if it means ruffling a few feathers in the selfie-loving crowd.
During the promotion of his 2018 flick The 15:17 to Paris, Eastwood didn’t hold back when it came to his thoughts on the whole selfie craze. In his trademark no-nonsense style, he declared snapping selfies with those pesky selfie sticks a “pain in the rear.” Yup, he’s not mincing words here!

The situation with missing Melania has gotten so bad that has been promising at his campaign events that she will eventually show up and campaign with him.
Melania Trump hasn’t gone full blown back of the milk carton vanished like Kate Middleton, but she has not been to a single one of Trump’s many, many court dates, so if she won’t show up to support her husband when he is facing prison, what makes anyone think that she will show up at one of his campaign events?
The former first lady didn’t want to move to Washington, D.C. after Trump took office in 2017. Her greatest accomplishment as First Lady was destroying the White House Rose Garden. She also had a problem with vanishing then too.
Given her track record, it’s probably better if Melania Trump missing.
