There’s something magnetic about athlete-celebrity couples. Maybe it’s the mix of locker room grit and red-carpet glamour, or how two worlds built on pressure and perfection somehow find common ground. Whether it’s a quarterback dating a pop star or a tennis legend marrying a tech mogul, these pairings always seem to grab our attention…and for good reason.

Athletes and celebs live fast, busy, spotlight-heavy lives. They understand what it’s like to be chased by cameras, critiqued by millions, and still perform at the highest level. That shared intensity can build a unique kind of bond, but it also makes dating a tricky endeavor. Between endless travel, demanding schedules, and the constant public microscope, love can be a challenging game to win. Add cheating rumors, fan theories, and social media drama, and suddenly, even a small dinner date can become front-page news.

Still, the fascination never fades. We love watching these worlds collide as few things top the touchdowns and love songs, the courtside kisses and runway moments. These couples show us what happens when ambition meets admiration, when two people who understand the grind decide to take on the spotlight together.

From all-time icons to modern-day favorites, these pairings have defined pop culture, dominated headlines, and proven that chemistry can thrive under the brightest lights. Some are timeless, some were short-lived, but all of them left their mark. Here are athlete-celebrity couples (past and present) who prove that love, fame, and a little chaos make the perfect combination.

  • Jessica Simpson Addresses Plastic Surgery Rumors After Her Unrecognizable Face in All’s Fair: ‘It Was Very Intense’

    [ad_1]

Jessica Simpson is back to doing music for the first time in over ten years, but people don’t seem to be focusing on her music. Instead, fans are focusing on the singer’s appearance after she shared a picture of herself that fans are saying looks anything like Simpson.

Simpson, who has been famous since she was very young, is a singer, actress and designer. She was known in her younger years for appearing on the MTV reality television show Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica, alongside then-husband Nick Lachey. The two would later divorce and Nick would go on to marry Vanessa Lachey. The pair now co-host a host of Netflix reality dating shows, including Love is Blind and The Ultimatum because apparently, reality TV is in Nick’s blood. Simson, meanwhile, went on to marry Eric Johnson, with whom she has three kids—even if there have been rumors of an imminent divorce there.

Apart from being a very successful singer, who has released seven studio albums and sold over 20 million albums worldwide, Simpson also launched The Jessica Simpson Collection, a fashion-focused line with has earned over $1 billion in revenue.  But what have fans saying Simpson isn’t looking like herself and what exactly are fans saying? Did Jessica Simpson really have plastic surgery?

Has Jessica Simpson had plastic surgery?

It’s hard to answer the question conclusively, but most people seem to believe she has, particularly after the singer posted this photo from a recording studio with the caption “I can’t wait for y’all to hear the soundtrack of my soul” while wearing an oversized black blazer over a silk white set consisting of a short top and a skirt, black fishnets, a black necklace and high-heeled cowboy boots.

“Girl who is this,” someone asked in the comments. “Woah. You don’t look like jessica,” another one replied. There were comparisons to Christina Hall, Paris Hilton, Ivanka Trump and even the Kardashians, with someone even saying “These ladies in Hollywood all look alike. I honestly can’t tell them apart. They’re pretty but they look the same.”

The comments continued in the same vein, calling her “unrecognizable,” and saying, “I had no idea who this was,” and, “Doesn’t even look like the same person anymore, nowhere close to.”

Simpson had a very visible transformation for her role in Ryan Murphy’s drama All’s Fair, with her character undergoing rounds of plastic surgery. However, she attributed her changed looks to the prosthetics department. “Filming All’s Fair was incredible. I had a blast,” Simpson told Entertainment Tonight (per Deadline). “I did eight hours of prosthetics, so it was very intense.” She said, “props to the prosthetics team,” who told her she had “the most patience of anyone they’ve ever worked with.”

Related: How much does the cast of Love is Blind earn?

Simpson has spoken out before about how she lost 100 pounds after welcoming her third daughter, Birdie. And in an interview with Bustle last year, she set the record straight about how she did it—not with Ozempic, but with “willpower,” adding, “do people want me to be drinking again? Because that’s when I was heavier. Or they want me to be having another baby? My body can’t do it.”

The dramatic weight loss is, however, a few years removed, so it’s hard to say that’s the reason for the change in Simpson’s appearance in the last picture. Considering this is Hollywood, it could just be a matter of angles, or just too much retouching on this particular picture. Or, it could indeed be surgery. We probably won’t know for sure until Simpson posts another picture, or she appears in person somewhere.

Either way, it’ll be obvious one way or another soon. Hollywood isn’t the place for these types of secrets, and Simpson has never been the type to keep things close to the vest, either. She has been open about having cosmetic procedures in the past, including lip fillers and two separate tummy tucks, so it’s unlikely she’d deny it if it were the case this time.

  • Jessica Simpson details the dark side of alcohol that nearly derailed her dreams

    [ad_1]

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!

Jessica Simpson is reflecting on eight years of sobriety.

On Saturday, the 45-year-old pop star took to social media to celebrate the milestone while sharing the dark side of alcoholism that nearly “blocked” her from chasing her dreams.

“8 years ago today I made the choice to confront, to confess and to let go of the self sabotaging parts of my life that I was choosing,” she wrote on Instagram, alongside a selfie. “Making that decision allowed me to fully live in the pursuit of Gods purpose for my life.”

“Alcohol silenced my intuition, blocked my dreams and chased my circulating fears of complacency,” she continued. “Today I am clear. Today I am driven by faith. Both fear and faith are something that we feel and may not see. I’m so happy I chose faith over fear. It was not in the fight that I found my strength, it was in the surrender.”

In an interview with The Cut earlier this year, Simpson opened up about the positive impact her sobriety has had on her personal and professional life, and shares why she was “a little afraid” of herself while drinking alcohol.

“Around 2016, ’17, I was writing out here in Los Angeles with some of the biggest hitmakers. I have songs from those times that I never released because they just didn’t feel like me,” she said. “Every time I would write, I was a little afraid of myself. It was almost too much, especially because I was drinking at the time.”

“But once I gave up the alcohol, the fears just diminished. They went away. And it was so much easier for me to access myself artistically,” she continued.

“I overthought it when I drank,” she added. “Making this record wasn’t about having a hit. It was just about having a vibe. There’s really not a lot of that in Los Angeles right now. It’s formulaic. I wanted to break that mold for myself personally. I don’t care if anything’s a hit. I’m not with a record label. I don’t expect it to even be on the radio.”

Simpson has been open about her journey of self-discovery — especially since her split from ex-husband Eric Johnson.

Simpson revealed she had separated from Johnson after 10 years of marriage in January. At the time, she shared that the couple “have been living separately” but did not reveal any details on the timeline of her split from Johnson.

“Eric and I have been living separately navigating a painful situation in our marriage,” Simpson said in a statement to People magazine.

In 2023, Simpson took to social media to celebrate her six-year sobriety anniversary. The original post featured a photo of Simpson taken on Nov. 1, 2017, the day she decided to get sober — she’s said that her last time drinking was on Halloween night of that year.

“This person in the early morning of Nov 1, 2017 is an unrecognizable version of myself. I had so much self-discovery to unlock and explore,” Simpson captioned the original post.

“I knew in this very moment I would allow myself to take back my light, show victory over my internal battle of self-respect, and brave this world with piercing clarity,” she continued. “Personally, to do this I needed to stop drinking alcohol because it kept my mind and heart circling in the same direction and quite honestly I was exhausted.”

“I wanted to feel the pain so I could carry it like a badge of honor,” she continued. “I wanted to live as a leader does and break cycles to advance forward- never looking back with regret and remorse over any choice I have made and would make for the rest of my time here within this beautiful world.”

“There is so much stigma around the word alcoholism or the label of an alcoholic. The real work that needed to be done in my life was to actually accept failure, pain, brokenness, and self sabotage,” she added. “The drinking wasn’t the issue. I was. I didn’t love myself. I didn’t respect my own power. Today I do.”

  • The Essentials With Rita Hazan: High-Low Skincare, Anguilla and Working With Beyoncé

    [ad_1]

Even if you don’t know Rita Hazan by name, you know her work. The New York City native has been behind the hair color transformations of some of the biggest pop stars since the late ‘90s, from Mariah Carey’s first foray into lighter locks (and eventual blonde makeover) for her 1997 album, Butterfly, to Jennifer Lopez’s post-Selena honey highlights and Katy Perry’s full range of rainbow colors. And then there’s Beyoncé, who first came to Hazan in 2013 and has been working with her ever since.

But Hazan’s impact in the beauty industry extends far beyond her impressive list of celebrity clients. In the male-dominated field of hair coloring, Hazan carved out her own path: First by developing a coloring technique that defied (and eventually set) trends, then with the opening of her namesake salon and product line. “I didn’t even think about it as a woman; I just really loved doing color,” Hazan tells Observer of what drove her to take risks. After attending beauty school at 17, Hazan immediately went to work at Oribe Canales’ legendary Fifth Avenue salon, where she assisted color director Brad Johns (whose clients famously included Christy Turlington and Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy) through much of the ‘90s. “I got promoted, and that’s where I was doing a little bit different hair color. Brad was all about chunky, very golden highlights, and I went the opposite way of that,” Hazan says. “My family background is Egyptian and Jewish, and we like to be blonde, but we don’t like to be goldy,” she adds of what inspired her more seamless approach to blonde color.

By the early 2000s, Hazan’s work with Mariah Carey, Jennifer Lopez and Jessica Simpson had established her as the go-to colorist for pop It girls and up-and-comers alike. “If you wanted to create an image or change your look, you would come to me,” confirms Hazan. All the while, she was still busy at Oribe with her usual clients, one of whom first planted the idea of opening her own salon. “I was like, ‘Who the hell wants that headache?’” Hazan laughs. “But I told my client I’d think about it, and when I went home and said something to my mom, she said, ‘If you want to, just open your own place.’ So I did, and that was it.”

    Rita Hazan Rita Hazan.

After establishing her Fifth Avenue salon as the place for A-listers and those in the know, Hazan developed her own product line, which most famously introduced the world to the first root cover-up spray (inspired by and developed for her clients as an at-home solution for grays in between color appointments). But after 20 years in the industry, Hazan was introduced to her most famous client to date: Beyoncé. “About 12 years ago, [hair stylist] Kim Kimble called me and was like, ‘Beyoncé wants to be blonde but her hair keeps turning orange, and I told her, Rita is the only person that’s going to get you the color that you want. Can you do her hair?’” Hazan recalls of the singer’s first visit to her salon. Hazan delivered, and the two have been working together ever since. The colorist is behind every Beyoncé hair look of the past decade, from her bright blonde at the 2015 Met Gala to her more dimensional, “sunwashed” color during the 2023 Renaissance tour.

“We’ll go back and forth on color ideas, but I’m always making sure it looks good for video and with movement—Beyoncé is flipping her hair and she’s up and down when she’s onstage, so every aspect of her hair has to look beautiful,” Hazan says of their collaboration process. “She also grew up in a hair salon, so she understands what’s possible and what’s not.”

This fall, Hazan is sharing her coloring expertise through open classes at her salon, now located on the Upper East Side. “I really like educating, and everybody is always asking me about going blonde without it getting damaged or brassy, so I’d like to do classes in the salon that are affordable and open to anybody who wants to come in,” she says. In between creating buttery blonde color for her clients (Hazan’s top trending color for fall), Rita Hazan spoke with Observer about her current essentials—from the red lip that’s become part of her everyday uniform to the at-home hair gloss with results so good, she uses it in the salon.

Why is Jessica Simpson’s weight still fair game for ridicule and debate?

    [ad_1]

Jessica Simpson is a woman with a body, two things that should give no one else the right to comment on how she looks.

This week, the 43-year-old singer posted a throwback picture of herself on her Instagram Stories from when she made the decision to go sober. “6 years ago,” she captioned the image of her sitting on a couch in a pink tracksuit.

The original image, which was posted to her Instagram in 2021, was taken on 1 November, 2017, the day she decided to get sober. “This person in the early morning of 1 Nov, 2017 is an unrecognisable version of myself,” she wrote. “I had so much self discovery to unlock and explore. I knew in this very moment I would allow myself to take back my light, show victory over my internal battle of self respect, and brave this world with piercing clarity. At the time, Simpson was celebrating her fourth year of sobriety, and said that during the process she began to love herself more and respect her own power. “I have made nice with the fears and I have accepted the parts of my life that are just sad. I own my personal power with soulful courage. I am wildly honest and comfortably open. I am free,” she added.

It’s a touching post, made even more powerful now that the singer has celebrated her sixth year sober, however *some people* decided to focus on how Simpson looked in the image instead of her accomplishment – even going as far to comment on her weight, saying the singer has “denied” using Ozempic to aid weight loss.

This content can also be viewed on the site it originates from.

It’s not the first time Simpson’s body has been the subject of public fodder this year. Over the summer an image of Simpson from 2009 went viral after many TikTok users were in disbelief that the singer had been scrutinised for “gaining weight” when she was a size four (UK size 8). Blaming the abhorrent Y2K fat-shaming culture that made us believe people like Kate Winslet, Britney Spears, and even Renee Zellwegger in Bridget Jones were “overweight”.

Jessica Simpson Celebrates Six Years of Sobriety With Jarring Throwback Photo

    [ad_1]

In her 2020 memoir, Open Book, Simpson was candid about her struggles with alcohol and pills, recalling her infamous “glitter cup” that she kept filled with booze.

In the book, she writes about making the decision to get sober. She’d had drinks at a Halloween party, and didn’t feel up to helping her kids get into their costumes, so she hid.

“I was terrified of letting them see me in that shape,” Simpson wrote in the memoir. “I am ashamed to say that I don’t know who got them into their costumes that night.”

She took an Ambien, then slept in the next morning to avoid facing them. She drank again. Then, friends came over and Simpson faced her journey.

“I need to stop,” she writes that she recalled saying. “Something’s got to stop. And if it’s alcohol that’s doing this and making things worse, then I quit.”

Simpson burst onto the pop scene with her first single, “I Wanna Love You Forever,” in 1999. Since then, she has sang and acted, participating in both reality TV and movies like The Dukes of Hazzard. She’s been a subject of paparazzi fascination, and recently shared that even now, she gets comments about her weight, and says that people still question her sobriety.

In a post celebrating the five-year mark last year, she wrote, “As much as I have learned to block out destructive noise…peoples’ comments and judgments can still hurt deeply with their incessant nagging ‘you will never be good enough.’”

“The most important thing I have learned through the last 5yrs without alcohol being a guard for escapism, is that I CAN and ALWAYS WILL get through it. I am capable of pretty much anything I care enough about to put my mind to.”

  • Jessica Simpson Hilariously Reacts To Fan Mistaking Her For Britney Spears

Jessica Simpson Hilariously Reacts To Fan Mistaking Her For Britney Spears

    [ad_1]

It’s not unheard of for celebrities to have lookalikes who also happen to be stars themselves. Some famous people look so similar that even fans can get confused every now and then.

And the mix-ups can get pretty awkward, but Jessica Simpson — like the good sport she is — delivered a hilarious reaction after recently being mistaken for Britney Spears.

While shopping at a local mall over the weekend, the “Irresistible” singer was approached by an eager fan who wanted her autograph. But unbeknownst to the fan, she asked for the John Hancock of the wrong pop star.

Simpson, 43, shared her humorous reaction to the light-hearted mishap on X, formerly Twitter, on Saturday.

“The face when someone in the parking lot at the mall asks you for your autograph, but expects you to sign it Britney Spears,” she wrote alongside a photo of her and her daughter Maxwell Drew, 11, making some exaggerated shocked facial expressions.

Fans on X reacted to the mallgoer’s blunder in Simpson’s comments section, with some quipping that the two superstars do indeed look similar.

While some fans in Simpson’s comments section said it’s easy to tell the two apart, the honest mistake isn’t too hard to believe, considering they both sport blonde hair and were compared to one another at the height of their pop star careers. Yes, we’re talking about MTV’s “TRL” days.

Even Spears pointed out their debatable similarities back in an Instagram post last December.

“Why do I look EXACTLY like Jessica Simpson ??? Also my face looks so pale 🤧🤧🤧🤔🤔🤔 !!!” she captioned the post alongside a photo of herself donning a tight-lipped expression.

Back in February 2020, Simpson recalled to Entertainment Tonight that she was often unnecessarily pitted against Spears and Christina Aguilera since they all “grew up in a very competitive environment” among record labels.

“I think everybody’s careers have their own unique stories, and I love that Britney owns herself, Christina owns herself, and they don’t let the world control them,” she said. “They just are themselves, and that’s who I am as well.”

Simpson added: “Everybody has found their own way, in such a beautiful, inspiring way. I just love it that everybody has remained authentically who they are. There’s so much room at the top! I mean, think about how many people are in heaven! Come on.”

Jennifer Lawrence Reveals The One Celebrity Who’d Leave Her ‘Starstruck,’ And … Huh?

    [ad_1]

The “Causeway” star was asked by W Magazine in an interview published Monday if she’d ever been starstruck. In response, Lawrence admitted that she was very excited to meet Ariana Grande, but also admitted there’s one celebrity who “would knock me over” with excitement if they met.

“To me, the biggest celebrities in the world are, like, Pete Davidson,” Lawrence told W. “Or when Ariana Grande was in my last film, ‘Don’t Look Up,’ I was photographed with her and I fully look like a radio contest winner. I would be starstruck if I saw Jessica Simpson. That would knock me over.”

Lawrence didn’t elaborate on her love for the singer and shoe mogul, but the “Silver Linings Playbook” star has always been vocal about how she’s a reality TV addict — and no one reigned more supreme in the genre than Simpson in the early 2000s.

Simpson starred in the popular MTV reality show “Newlyweds: Nick & Jessica” for most of her marriage to her fellow singer and ex-husband Nick Lachey, from 2002 to 2006. During this time, Simpson became somewhat of an “it girl,” and parlayed her fame in the reality series into roles in “That ’70s Show” and films like 2005’s “The Dukes of Hazzard” and 2006’s “Employee of the Month.”

Lawrence has gotten to meet — and has embroiled herself in public spats — with other reality personalities. She even got the chance to appear on an episode of “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” in 2009 via a FaceTime call.

Here’s just hoping if Lawrence does meet Simpson, they do it over a bowl of chicken of the sea.
