  • Hit Taylor Sheridan TV Show Coming to Netflix

    [ad_1]

Netflix is adding several big shows to its streaming catalog, including a hit Taylor Sheridan TV shows set to arrive on the platform.

What Taylor Sheridan TV show is coming to Netflix?

According to the streamer in a recent fourth-quarter letter to shareholders (via Deadline), Netflix is getting ready to add around 20 new Paramount shows to its platform this year. These include some big shows, including SEAL Team, the Sherlock-inspired procedural Watson, and Taylor Sheridan’s Mayor of Kingstown.

The series, which recently got renewed for a fifth and final season, currently has released four seasons. The show stars Jeremy Renner as Michael “Mike” McLusky, the right-hand man for his older brother, Mitch, who takes over as “Mayor” of Kingstown, Michigan, with his family acting as a mediator of sorts between the various groups found in the town.

Mayor of Kingstown is created and executive-produced by Academy Award nominee Taylor Sheridan and Hugh Dillon, who previously collaborated on the Yellowstone series. Alongside Renner, the series also stars Dianne Wiest (Seasons 1-2), Hugh Dillon, Tobi Bamtefa, Taylor Handley, Emma Laird (Seasons 1-3), Derek Webster, Hamish Allan-Headley, Pha’rez Lass, and more.

The series is executive produced by Sheridan, Dillon, Renner, Antoine Fuqua, David C. Glasser, Ron Burkle, David Hutkin, Bob Yari, Michael Friedman, Dave Erickson, Christoph Schrewe, Wendy Riss, Evan Perazzo, and Keith Cox, with Erickson set as the showrunner.

“In season four, Mike’s control over Kingstown is threatened as new players compete to fill the power vacuum left in the Russians’ wake, compelling him to confront the resulting gang war and stop them from swallowing the town,” reads the logline for the show’s fourth season. “Meanwhile, with those he loves in more danger than ever before, Mike must contend with a headstrong new Warden to protect his own while grappling with demons from his past.”

  • ‘Hawkeye’ star allegedly sent unwanted nudes and threatened to call ICE on his ex | The Mary Sue

    [ad_1]

A big Marvel star has serious allegations levied against him on social media and a recent report lays a ton of claims out there. The Daily Beast posted a lengthy story about Hawkeye actor Jeremy Renner allegedly threatening a female filmmaker.

Other details from the report include the MCU actor threatening to “call ICE” on Yi Zhou according to her social media. The Daily Mail also interviewed the 37-year-old filmmaker about her alleged dating history with Renner. She says that he sent “unsolicited pornographic images of himself” in some Instagram posts this week.

In The Daily Beast’s account of the events, Zhou said that she was dating Renner previously. She alleges that during the period they were making a documentary and an animated film together, the relationship began. The filmmaker told The Daily Beast that he introduced himself over WhatsApp and things escalated from there. The Daily Mail says that they have screenshots of her alleged messages with Renner. There are alleged short porn video clips in those records from June too. During a meeting for Chronicles of Disney, Zhou says she feared for her life because of Renner’s temper.

On social media, Zhou wrote, “I’m worried for other women who will be victim and might have been victim being used as a sexual object,  abused and destroyed in such a manner. Hollywood hides these men and bad behavior for the sake of money, but do we still need to be a silent victim in the post me 2 era? I thank the media reporters that reached out to me and are willing to support me unpack the truth we need to endure in today’s Hollywood, and help other women to tell the truth.”

The most shocking part of the reporting stems from claims that Jeremy Renner allegedly threatened to call ICE on Yi Zhou after she confronted him for not promoting their movie together. WhatsApp messages obtained by The Daily Mail have Renner allegedly responding “Immigration will be notified of your-” when she pressed him about sending lewd photos of himself in different apps. On social media, the filmmaker is posting all kinds of statements about Renner and about Hollywood in general. Representatives for the Marvel star have not responded to inquiries about the veracity of these claims.

Zhous posted on Instagram, “When I called him out privately about his past misconduct and asked him to behave properly, to respect me as a woman and as a filmmaker, he threatened to call immigration/ICE on me, an act that deeply shocked and frightened me.”

All of these allegations follow Renner’s legal history with his ex-wife. Sonni Pacheco also accused the Marvel star of abusive behavior. They were married for 10 months, beginning in 2014. Renner would deny those allegations in an interview with The Guardian. The Hawkeye actor currently shares joint custody of his daughter with Pacheco. This is a developing story.

  • Jeremy Renner Accused by Filmmaker Yi Zhou of ‘Misconduct’

    [ad_1]

Filmmaker Yi Zhou has come forward with allegations of misconduct against actor Jeremy Renner. She claimed that he shared inappropriate images and later threatened her after being confronted. Zhou, who worked with Renner on two upcoming projects, shared her accusations in a series of social media posts.

Jeremy Renner faces ‘misconduct’ allegations from filmmaker Yi Zhou

The Hawkeye star has been accused of misconduct by Chinese filmmaker Yi Zhou, who recently collaborated with him on two projects, Chronicles of Disney and Stardust Future.

Zhou shared her allegations in a series of social media posts on Instagram, claiming that Jeremy Renner sent her explicit photos. Moreover, he later threatened her after she confronted him about his behavior.

In her statement, Zhou said that Renner initially contacted her directly in June and sent a “string of unwanted/unsolicited pornographic images of himself.” She alleged that when she addressed his behavior privately, he responded by threatening to “call immigration or ICE” on her.

According to Zhou, this exchange left her feeling upset and intimidated. She wrote, “Such behavior is unacceptable and emblematic of the imbalance of power that continues to harm women in our industry.”

The 37-year-old filmmaker also shared screenshots that she claimed were of her conversations with Renner. Additionally, she included messages from friends who expressed concern for her well-being.

Previously, speaking with the Daily Mail, Yi Zhou alleged that Jeremy Renner became intoxicated and aggressive during a meeting about Chronicles of Disney at his home in Reno, Nevada, saying she locked herself in a bathroom out of fear.

Zhou told the outlet that she and the Mayor of Kingstown actor developed a romantic relationship before working together. However, she alleged that he later denied the relationship publicly and refused to promote their films.

“No woman, filmmaker, or creative should have to work under such emotional and psychological pressure while trying to protect her name and the integrity of her work,” Zhou added in her Instagram post.

Meanwhile, Jeremy Renner has not yet responded publicly to the allegations.

  • “Mayor of Kingstown” stars describe what to expect during the show’s upcoming season and working together for the first time

    [ad_1]

The stakes are high as season four of “Mayor of Kingstown” unfolds, Jeremy Renner revealed on “CBS Mornings” on Wednesday.

“It is a pretty intense show. … all the main storyline involves all of the players, the main players, in the show. So there are not a lot of side storylines that you have to kind of follow, so it keeps everything pretty intense for everybody on the show,” Renner said.

Renner plays Mike McLusky, whose brother is an incarcerated cop. This season, Edie Falco joins the cast to play Nina Hobbs, the new warden at Anchor Bay Prison.

“To come up against a brick wall like Nina Hobbs, the new warden in town, creates real real real problems for Mike throughout the entire season,” Renner said.

After recovering from an accident on New Year’s Day in 2023, Renner — who broke 38 bones and had to undergo multiple surgeries — said the crew on “Mayor of Kingstown” has been helpful to him as he returned to set.

“Everybody is very good about taking care of me,” he said.

Renner and Falco on working together

Falco, an Emmy-award winner and former star of “The Sopranos,” said she enjoys playing strong female characters like Hobbs.

“On more than one occasion, my agents have called me and said, ‘well the part was written for a man.’ … After I learned not to take that personally, I’ve come to really enjoy the place of power that a lot of these women stand in and do so with a great amount of confidence,” Falco said.

It’s the first time Renner and Falco have worked together.

“When you’re working opposite an actor, if you look in their eyes there’s part of them that’s always saying, ‘hi. Look at us. We’re on this show.’ … And there was none of that. He’s the guy,” Falco said of Renner. “And it makes the playground completely real for me.”

Renner said Falco is “tremendous” as his on-screen counterpart.

“First of all, also it’s a great character. It’s a really strong female character, which is amazing. Such a great adversary really and then there’s nobody better to fill those shoes.”

“Mayor of Kingstown” returns Sunday, Oct. 26 on Paramount+.

  • Daniel Craig Returns to Solve “Impossible Crime” in ‘Wake Up Dead Man’ Trailer

    [ad_1]

Daniel Craig is heading to church for guidance in the teaser trailer for Netflix‘s Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery.

Writer-director Rian Johnson‘s third feature in the Knives Out franchise is set for release in select theaters Nov. 26 before its streaming debut Dec. 12. Josh O’Connor, Glenn Close, Josh Brolin, Mila Kunis, Jeremy Renner, Kerry Washington, Andrew Scott, Cailee Spaeny, Daryl McCormack and Thomas Haden Church round out the film’s ensemble cast.

Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery centers on detective Benoit Blanc (Craig) attempting to figure out his most dangerous case yet. The first trailer (below) teases the mysterious death of a charming priest.

“To understand this case, you need to look at the myth that’s being constructed,” Craig says in the footage. “A man gives a sermon. He then, in plain sight of everyone, walks into a sealed concrete box. Thirty seconds later, that man is lying dead. A classic, impossible crime.”

Johnson helmed the movie from his own script. The filmmaker produced the project alongside Ram Bergman.

Here’s the logline: “Benoit Blanc (Craig) returns for his most dangerous case yet in the third and darkest chapter of Rian Johnson’s murder mystery opus. When young priest Jud Duplenticy (O’Connor) is sent to assist charismatic firebrand Monsignor Jefferson Wicks (Josh Brolin), it’s clear that all is not well in the pews. Wicks’ modest-but-devoted flock includes devout church lady Martha Delacroix (Close), circumspect groundskeeper Samson Holt (Church), tightly-wound lawyer Vera Draven, Esq. (Washington), aspiring politician Cy Draven (McCormack), town doctor Nat Sharp (Renner), best-selling author Lee Ross (Scott) and concert cellist Simone Vivane (Spaeny). After a sudden and seemingly impossible murder rocks the town, the lack of an obvious suspect prompts local police chief Geraldine Scott (Mila Kunis) to join forces with renowned detective Benoit Blanc to unravel a mystery that defies all logic.”

The franchise kicked off with the original Knives Out, which Lionsgate released theatrically in 2019. Not quite two years later, Netflix bought the exclusive rights to a pair of sequels, with the first follow-up — Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery — launching in late 2022.

In his review of Wake Up Dead Man for The Hollywood Reporter, chief film critic David Rooney praised the film’s “considerable plus of Josh O’Connor as a former boxer turned priest who becomes both a murder suspect and a Watson to Benoit Blanc’s Sherlock Holmes.”

Jeremy Renner Details the Moments Leading up to and Following His Accident

    [ad_1]

On the debut episode of James Corden’s new exclusive interview show, This Life of Mine with James Corden — where guests pick the possessions, places, people, music, memories and more that made them who they are — special guest Jeremy Renner shared never-before-revealed details about his near-death accident on New Years Day 2023.

After choosing “titanium” for his defining possession, as the metal now makes up 15–20% of his body after the accident (“It will be with me forever. It’s like half of my ribs, right?” he said), Jeremy took James through the moments leading up to and immediately following the accident at his rural Nevada home, as well as his healing journey.

    Jeremy Renner’s Place: Lake Tahoe

Jeremy considers Nevada his “happy place,” even after the accident. He started skiing there as a kid and became really invested in the community as an adult, using it as his main residence for the past decade. He was no stranger to the extreme weather they experienced that New Years that led to his accident.

“We’re kind of locked down in a giant three-, four-day storm,” Jeremy recalled. “It happens often up there, but this was a pretty gnarly one. It was like snowmageddon. Everything was shut down. We were without power for two to three days. But we were all having fun. There was like 25 of us, celebrating post-Christmas into New Years. And New Year’s Eve was pretty snowy. And we finally got a break in the weather. And like 8-10 feet, I think, fell, and so we had to go kind of clear some snow.”

He continued, “This is a little bit more snow than typical. And then the power out — we’re kind of used to that. But, you know, going on the third day, it’s starting to get not fun. So when the sun came out, it was great. Everybody’s very, very happy. Everyone’s gonna get the kids skiing.

“There’s cars that they thought that could make it. They got stuck. Snowmobiles got stuck. So that really trapped us all in no matter what. So I had to get the snowcat,” he said. Specifically, a PistenBully snow groomer. “It’s super reliable because it floats a little bit more on the snow … It’s a big, big monstrous tank. And it’s super, super dependable for this kind of stuff. So I kept pulling all the things out of the way of the driveway ’cause they’re all stuck. So once I got almost all of those out of the way, I was gonna go then plow the driveway. But pulling the last truck out is where the accident happened.”

Jeremy then recounts exactly how the accident occurred and what he experienced, having never lost consciousness for more than a few minutes if at all while suffering from eight broken ribs, a broken eye socket, a collapsed lung, and more injuries. He actually credits his survival to remaining conscious and forcing himself to keep breathing.

    Why near-death felt “glorious”

“Recovery was like a one-way road,” he told James. “I wasn’t going to come back from death — which I thought was glorious, by the way … You know, having a near-death experience. I was probably gone on the ice for a minute, at least … I was there for 45 minutes, and I got pretty exhausted breathing. I started getting 18 beats per minute, was my heart rate, and that’s probably almost from death. And you kind of fade. I don’t know if it’s fading in consciousness or just fading out of, like, heart stoppage.”

But at that moment, Jeremy felt like “all life was grand.” He said, “All life just got better. Everything you know and you love and loved in your life is a two-way street now, and they’re there with you. It’s an energetic thing. There’s no time, place or space or color or anything. It’s just a known peace. And that peace was so glorious — I don’t know why ‘orgasmic’ pops into my head, because it’s not that stimulating. It’s just like a peaceful excitement, and it’s hard to express.”

He compared it to the “beautiful, exhilarating peace” of childhood feelings around Disneyland or Christmas.

“I saw light strands that sort of connected me visually,” he added. “There was a visual, it’s that. ‘Cause you’re just constantly connected, always, forever.”

He was never afraid of death, Jeremy explained, but after experiencing that, now he’s really not afraid.

In fact, he’s kind of excited for it.

Jeremy shares the life-defining movie he’s watched over 500 times, his most-cherished childhood memory with his father, the two people who’ve affected his life the most, and more in the full interview, now available to stream on the SiriusXM app. New episodes of This Life of Mine with James Corden premiere Thursdays at 5pm ET exclusively on Stars (Ch. 109).

Jeremy Renner Set to Head Back to Work on ‘Mayor of Kingstown’ a Year After Near-Fatal Snowplow Accident

    [ad_1]

Jeremy Renner has revealed a major step in his career after a terrible accident nearly took his life: He’s headed back to the set of “Mayor of Kingstown” to film the third season.

Renner was involved in a near-fatal accident on Jan. 1, 2023, after saving his nephew from being hit by a snowplow. The actor was run over by his own Sno-Cat, which weighs at least 14,330 pounds, putting Renner in the hospital with blunt chest trauma and orthopedic injuries.

As Renner continues to recover, he spoke with Andy Cohen and Anderson Cooper during their CNN New Year’s Eve special about his physical therapy, as well as his upcoming album.

“We have a lot to celebrate this year,” Renner said. “I’m so blessed that I had so many things to live for. I have a giant family, a 10-year-old daughter. I would have disappointed and messed up a lot of people’s lives if I passed. There’s a lot for me to fight for. Recovery is a one-way road in my mind. I still work hard every day.”

Renner was also asked about going back to work on the third season of “Kingstown.”

“It’s been a wonderfully busy year,” he said. “I think I’m ready and I think I’m strong enough. I literally go back in a week.”

The “Hawkeye” actor has been active in keeping his fans updated on his recovery. He made a concerted effort to be well enough to walk the red carpet with the use of a cane at the world premiere of his Disney+ series “Rennervations” last April.

In an interview with ABC News’ Diane Sawyer last April, Renner went into detail about how exactly the incident occurred and explained that he’s fine allowing a stunt double perform more physical duties on set after his injuries.

“Last night, I didn’t sleep for shit knowing I was going to have to talk about it today. I have no regrets. I’d do it again,” he said in the interview, adding: “I refuse to have that be a trauma and be a negative experience. That is a man that I’m proud of because I wouldn’t let that happen to my nephew. I shift the narrative of being victimized, or making a mistake, or anything else. I refuse to be fucking haunted by that memory that way.”

  • Hailee Steinfeld Had a “Rare” Child-Star Experience With Jeff Bridges

Hailee Steinfeld Had a “Rare” Child-Star Experience With Jeff Bridges

    [ad_1]

Few actors ever reach the Academy Awards, let alone before hitting the legal driving age. But that was exactly where Hailee Steinfeld found herself when she earned a best supporting actress Oscar nomination for the Coen brothers’ True Grit in 2011 at age 14.

“This is a once in a lifetime opportunity. Take it all in,” people once advised Steinfeld, now 26, as she tells People in her new cover story. “Of course, at 13, I was like, ‘Yeah, absolutely. For sure. I’m taking it all in.’ And while I do feel like I remember just about everything, I only now realize what people meant by that,” she continues. “It was such a rare experience, everything about it: the timing, the places I got to go to and the people I got to work with. I was experiencing so many firsts, and I was surrounded by the best people that really took me under their wings and guided me every step of the way. I just remember being young and curious and so overexcited about absolutely everything.”

Her True Grit co-star Jeff Bridges has been a particularly major influence, both professionally and personally. “Jeff has so much fun with what he does,” Steinfeld said. “With True Grit, I had a lot of dialogue, and the circumstances weren’t always smiley and bubbly. Yet somehow, in between takes, he managed to keep up an energy that made me feel so at ease and comfortable… If we had 10 minutes in between takes, he would pull out this game called Pass the Pigs, which became a crowd favorite very quickly with the Steinfeld family.”

Although the actor says she “had moments of [feeling like I was missing out] when friends would send me pictures from winter formals and proms and homecomings,” she still had a chance to experience some typical teenage milestones—by filming a homecoming scene on 2015’s Barely Lethal and joining a sorority in the Pitch Perfect franchise. Plus, 2016’s The Edge of Seventeen allowed Steinfeld to “let a little bit of teen angst go that I didn’t even know I had.”

In recent months, Steinfeld has been touched by the personal battles both Bridges, who is currently in remission for non-Hodgkin lymphoma, and her Hawkeye co-star Jeremy Renner, who survived a near-fatal snowplow accident, have endured. “I haven’t really talked about it, but it is a weird thing because I would be so moved by what has happened to them in any other case, and here I am lucky enough to have a personal connection,” she tells the outlet. “I’m just so beyond grateful that they’re both here.”

  • Actor Jeremy Renner wants tax credits for film projects in northern Nevada, but he may have to wait

Actor Jeremy Renner wants tax credits for film projects in northern Nevada, but he may have to wait

    [ad_1]

CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) — Actor Jeremy Renner’s hopes to expand a measure for the film industry to northern Nevada were effectively dashed Monday when the bill’s sponsor said it’s too late to entertain in the current legislative session.

A bill moving through the Nevada Legislature would provide $190 million annually in tax credits over at least 20 years aimed at bringing film productions to two sites in southern Nevada, including a $1 billion Sony expansion.

Renner, who played the sharp-shooting Hawkeye of the Avengers squad in Marvel’s sprawling movie and television universe, lobbied lawmakers Monday for a third site in northern Nevada that he said could rival film production studios in Atlanta and New Mexico where he shot Avengers and other films.

Democratic Sen. Roberta Lange of Las Vegas, the bill sponsor, and Brandon Birtcher, a developer who spearheaded the project said it was too late in the project to add another site. But Lange said a potential amendment could potentially provide for a study to look at what economic impacts a northern Nevada expansion would bring.

“It took two years to get that bill to where it is today. And so to bring in something else, a whole new idea at this point, it’s probably not going to work,” said Lange. “But I think we need to look at it.”

The bill is the latest attempt at diversifying southern Nevada’s economy that relies largely on revenue from gambling and tourism but that was hit hard by the coronavirus pandemic. The proposed tax incentives are the largest in recent state history, even with the deals that numbered in the hundreds of millions with Tesla and lithium battery recycling company Redwood Materials.

But unlike those deals, which used direct tax abatements, private developers and studios must hit certain goals to receive expansive tax credits. Two sites are proposed, one on the campus of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, and another in the Summerlin area of Las Vegas.

Developers would have to spend $500 million and $400 million on the sites by 2030, and studios would have to wrap up film production before getting tax credits.

Neither the state Senate nor the Assembly has voted on the bill, and Republican Gov. Joe Lombardo hasn’t chimed in on it.

The proposal stems from two years of negotiations but was introduced in the Legislature with three weeks to spare in the biennial session, unbeknownst to many, including Renner. He said he heard about it during a trip to Los Angeles and scrambled to try to get a last-minute amendment to include the Nevada county where he lives and others in the region.

“I have a desire and want to…speak up for people in Elko (County), people up here in Washoe (County), that we also deserve the opportunity to reap the benefits of building studios, jobs, infrastructure for the film industry,” Renner told The Associated Press. “And that’s my main impetus to to be here.”

Now, a study to look at the economic impact of a northern Nevada project is more likely to be added to the bill, Lange said. The condensed timeline and added tax breaks make funding a third zone nearly impossible until the 2025 Legislative session.

Renner, who moved to northern Nevada about 10 years ago, said he wants to work on films closer to home and argues that the area’s landscape including Reno, Lake Tahoe, and rural swaths of land would draw interest from major studios worldwide.

New Mexico already offers a rebate of between 25% and 35% of in-state spending for video production. Democratic Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham signed legislation in April that also increases payouts to productions based in rural areas of the state.

Renner said the Nevada incentives could rival Georgia’s, which has become the nationwide leader in film incentives. Films there receive a 30% break on in-state costs that are not capped, along with other local incentives.

Expanding the film industry to northern Nevada would take more tax credits than currently proposed, Lange said. State analysts predicted a maximum cost of over $3.5 billion over the next 20 years for the tax credits for the southern Nevada sites, a small part of which would fund local workforce training and education.

Opponents of the bill argue massive tax credits would better be spent on schools, health care and mental health services.

If the bill is approved, construction on the two sites could start as soon as 2025, with studios using the space in 2027. Sony has said it would invest $1 billion in the next decade at the Summerlin site, contingent upon incentives from the state.

Renner said he’s talked with Disney and other media companies about bringing more films to northern Nevada.

“I don’t know how to put a bill together or try to move the needle forward. And I’m not a policy guy,” Renner said. “So I was really excited about (the bill). And then I was frustrated that it wasn’t very inclusive.”

The “Rennervations” star posted to the Stories portion of his verified Instagram account ahead of the weekend, showing his recent visit to Renown Regional Medical Center, a Reno, Nevada hospital.

“I got to revisit the amazing group of people who saved my life,” Renner, 52, wrote over a photo of himself posing in the center of a group of people standing in front of a screen that displayed the words “Welcome back!”

He included two other photos with staffers from the medical center, including one outside in front of a Renown sign.

  • Jeremy Renner Broke Out Some High Kicks On ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’

Jeremy Renner Broke Out Some High Kicks On ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’

    [ad_1]

Miraculously, Jeremy Renner is on his feet. In his first live television appearance since the devastating snowplow accident that left him with over 30 broken bones in his body, Renner appeared as a guest on Jimmy Kimmel Live! last night, walking onstage with the help of a cane.

Renner seemed positively thrilled to be mobile again as he walked over to host Jimmy Kimmel, gave him a hug, danced around a bit, and eventually sat in his chair—but not before doing a few high kicks from his seat. “If there was any question as to who the toughest Avenger was, that’s settled now,” said Kimmel as the audience roared. “Yeah, it’s Scarlett Johansson,” the Marvel star quipped back.

Renner than shared the details of his New Year’s Day snow plow accident, when the two-time Oscar nominee was run over be a seven-ton Piston Sno-Bully after he tried to stop the machine from running over his 27-year-old nephew, Alexander Fries. “I got eaten up under the tracks,” said Renner. “That was a very bad way to start the year.”

According to Renner, he broke “35 or so” bones in the accident. “We kept discovering them as we were going along, because it went from critical order of, you know, priority of what I was going to die from or not,” he said. “And then, you know, six weeks later, finding another break and another break and another break.” Kimmel quipped that Renner was approaching “Evel Knievel territory” in terms of the amount of injuries he sustained.

“It’s a giant metal cookie roller, and it just missed every vertebrae, right?” said Renner, explaining his relative good fortune. “It didn’t hit any organs. My brain didn’t swell. My eye did pop out, so that’s weird. But I got very lucky that none of the organs got messed up.”

Renner than told stories from his multiple ICU stays, telling Kimmel that he “hated his outfit” while in the hospital. He shared that he didn’t really understand the severity of his injuries until some of his Avengers pals, like Chris Evans and Anthony Mackie, came to visit him. “They were terrible actors,” he said. “They couldn’t hind the fact that I looked awful.” Renner also shouted out Paul Rudd, who stopped by the hospital multiple times to visit him. Not only did Rudd visit Renner, but he also made Renner a fake Cameo, which Renner played on the show.

“Hey, Jerry. I hear you’re a little banged up. Got in a fight with a snow blower?” says Rudd in the video, nailing the medium’s impersonal nature. “Anyway, I just wanted to send this video. It’s really from the heart and hope you’re feeling better. Sounds like you are ― apparently you’re a pretty tough guy. Maybe I’ll get to meet you someday…Take is easy for awhile and next time maybe let the snow melt. Feel better, Jerry.”

Jeremy Renner could count on his “Avengers” co-star Paul Rudd for some laughs as he was recovering from his near-death snowplow accident.

On “Jimmy Kimmel Live” Monday, Renner said Rudd visited him in hospital a couple of times, and was always “making my day” because “he’s one of the funniest guys around.”

Case in point: Renner shared a video that Rudd sent him. It was made to resemble a message from the Cameo app, which allows people to purchase personalized video messages from celebrities.

“He made a fake one like I paid him money for a Cameo,” Renner recalled.

“Hey Jerry,” Rudd begins the clip. “I hear you’re a little banged up. Got in a fight with a snowblower apparently? Anyway, I just wanted to send this video. It’s really from the heart and hope you’re feeling better. Sounds like you are ― apparently you’re a pretty tough guy. Maybe I’ll get to meet you someday.”

Renner was severely injured on Jan. 1 while plowing snow near his property in Reno, Nevada. He was run over by the machine, which weighs more than 14,000 pounds. He broke more than 30 bones and punctured a lung.

    CNN
     —

One of the doctor’s treating Jeremy Renner following his snowplow incident says the actor has come a long way incredibly quickly.

Dr. Christopher Vincent, a chiropractic sports physician, spoke to CNN’s Alisyn Camerota Friday night from Winter Park, Colorado, about the rehab process for Renner, an Oscar-nominated star of Marvel’s “Avengers” movies and “The Hurt Locker.”

Vincent says the machine came within millimeters of hitting a vital organ or major nerve.

“As unlucky as he is to have such a tragic injury, he is so lucky that the injuries are where they are,” Vincent said.

Renner was crushed by a snowplow on New Year’s Day and broke several bones including eight ribs, an eye socket, a knee and shoulder.

“He’s pushing through it and really has the determination to not only heal but come back stronger and better than he was before,” Vincent said.

Renner will likely have some form of rehab for the rest of his life, but Vincent said he has a drive to overcome the pain and the injuries.

Jeremy Renner says he won’t be “victimized” by snowplow injuries in emotional first interview: “It would have been a horrible way to die”

    [ad_1]

Jeremy Renner is opening up about the New Year’s Day snowplow accident that left him in critical condition. Sitting in his wheelchair in an exclusive interview with ABC’s Diane Sawyer released on Thursday, the “Avengers” star recalls the horrifying moment, saying it was “my mistake,” and “I paid for it.”

The day of the incident, Renner was plowing the snow ahead of a day of skiing with his family in Reno, Nevada. He had used the more than 14,000-pound snowcat several times before, and on this day, his nephew Alex was out there helping him. At one point while driving the plow, it kept slipping and Renner couldn’t see where his nephew was, so Renner opened the door and stuck one foot out to try and find him.

He told Sawyer that all he remembers next is that he lost his footing and fell off the side. He was alright at first, but worried that the machine was going to sandwich his nephew in between it and the nearby truck, he tried to immediately jump back in.

But when he jumped up on the snowplow’s tracks, they immediately threw him off — right into the vehicle’s path.

“It is what it was and it’s my mistake,” he said, “and I paid for it.”

ABC played the 911 call that was made the morning of Renner’s Jan. 1 accident. In that audio clip, Renner’s neighbor, Rich Kovach, who was helping the actor, can be heard saying, “he’s been crushed,” and begging for immediate assistance.

“Listen to me, I need — you might wanna get life flight out here immediately,” the man says as Renner can be heard moaning in the background. “…He’s in rough shape.”

Kovac told ABC that Renner was covered in blood and that it seemed as though his skull was “cracked wide open.”

“His eye looked like it had been pushed out,” he said.

In the interview, Renner said he remembers “all of” the pain. At one point, he said, “I could see my eye with my other eye… I just remember seeing stars.”

“I was awake through every moment. It’s exactly like imagine it would feel like,” he said. “…I was on asphalt and ice. It was like someone took the wind out of you.”

The snowcat ended up pushing the truck Alex was in up against a snowbank, but he was safe and able to get out. He saw Renner in a pool of blood and immediately ran to Kovac’s house for help.

It took 20 minutes for emergency responders to get there through the snow, wind and ice. They got him into the ambulance in just minutes, but by the time he got to the hospital, he was in a “maximum level of trauma,” doctors said.

“His entire right side of his chest was fractured,” a surgeon told ABC. Doctors said he had more than 30 broken bones in various parts of his body.

When his family got there, Renner couldn’t speak, but he was able to use sign language to convey a single message: “I’m sorry.”

“I am sorry. I did that to them,” he said. “It’s my responsibility. I feel bad that my actions caused so much pain.”

At one point, Renner asked for a phone and typed out a note of his “last words to my family.”

“Don’t let me live on tubes on a machine and if my existence is going to be on drugs and painkillers, just let me go now,” he recalls asking of them.

But Renner, who doctors described as young and healthy with a good support system, prevailed and is making progress in his recovery. In the interview, he was seen using a walker and a wheelchair to get around. He only got onto his feet one day earlier.

“If I was there on my own, it would have been a horrible way to die,” he said. “And surely it would have.”

Months after the incident, Renner said he doesn’t want the story to be about him being a victim, but about the strength that came from it.

“I refuse to have that be a trauma and be a negative experience. … I wouldn’t let that happen to my nephew, so I shift the narrative of being victimized or making a mistake or anything else,” he said. “I refuse to be f—ing haunted by that memory that way.”

“I ran up to him. I didn’t think he was alive,” his nephew added, choking up.

“Someone’s been run over by a Snowcat. Hurry,” a voice on the call says. “He’s been crushed. There’s a lot of blood over here.”

“He is in rough shape,” the person says as Renner lets out a loud groan in the background. “Keep breathing, man. Keep fighting.”

“Hang in there brother,” the person adds as Renner is heard a second time moaning in pain.

Renner was collected throughout the interview as he and Sawyer discussed his injuries, but he briefly teared up when Sawyer said, “I heard that you had, in sign language, you said to your family, ‘I’m sorry.’”

Renner shook his head yes but wasn’t able to say more and turned his face from the camera.

“I chose to survive. That’s not going to kill me, no way,” he says later in the teaser. “I’ve lost a lot of flesh and bone in this experience, but I’ve been refuelled and refilled with love and titanium.”
