  • Jeremy Clarkson, 65, shares little-known side effect of ‘astonishing’ weight loss drugs

    Jeremy Clarkson has revealed that the increasingly popular weight loss drug Mounjaro has helped him to lose three stone, but also shared some more surprising side-effects of the jab that are much less mentioned.

    In an interview with The Sun, he gave his fans an insight into the other impacts that the medication has had on him, which included not being quite so “quick-witted” and being “grumpier” and a diminished libido, though he confessed that he did not face some of the more common side effects such as constipation.

    He told the publication: “I find myself doing Hot Seat [Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?], thinking: ‘Oh [expletive], I should have said that, but too late now’. But who’s to say I wouldn’t have thought that when I wasn’t on [Mounjaro]?

    “Constipation? No, I don’t have that. Diminished libido? I’m 65, it’s hard to know what’s causing that. I’ll ask [my wife] Lisa when I get back home.”

    He also explained that he had lost weight over the course of six months thanks to the medication, though it has slowed down at the moment.

    The Clarkson’s Farm star added: “I’m nearer to [David] Gandy now than I was a year ago, in the same way that tectonic activity means that South America is moving closer to Australia – not by much. But I can go much further, I can take the dogs out for longer now, so it keeps her happy. I’m much healthier.”

    On another lesser-known side-effect, the 65-year-old shared that his feet have shrunk: “The shoes I was wearing last year are falling off me as I’m walking around. I think I might be the first person in the world to lose weight on my feet.”

    What is Mounjaro and what are the side effects?

    The once-a-week weight loss jab has been mentioned everywhere in the last year, drawing attention thanks to its promise of appetite suppression and weight reduction. However, as with any medication, it is crucial to understand the full picture.

    Mounjaro is the brand name for tizepatide, a drug that mimics two naturally occurring hormones in the body. Dr Angela Kwong, a GP with a special interest in obesity management, spoke to HELLO!, explaining to us that: “Mounjaro is approved in Australia for the treatment of type 2 diabetes, weight management in adults with obesity, or those with weight-related health conditions, and most recently, obstructive sleep apnoea in adults with obesity.”

    Weight loss medications are being used more and more

    Leading pharmacist Jason Murphy told us: “The active ingredient, tirzepatide, targets both GLP-1 and GIP receptors. That dual mechanism makes Mounjaro different from many other weight loss injections and helps deliver stronger appetite control and more effective weight loss results when used alongside diet and exercise.”

    As for the side effects, Dr Kwong explained to us that: “The most common side effects are gastrointestinal, nausea, vomiting, constipation, bloating, diarrhoea, and a reduced appetite. These tend to be mild and improve over time as your body adjusts to the medication.” The adjustment period for side effects varies between individuals, but subsides once your body gets used to the medication.

    Jeremy Clarkson‘s Diddly Squat Farm has expanded by four paws. The former Top Gear presenter welcomed a brand-new addition to the Diddly Squat family – a fox-red labrador puppy named Margarey. In addition to slew of pigs and sheep on his farm, Margarey will join the TV personality on the farm at the centre of his show, Clarkson’s farm. The pup was birthed by Jeremy’s dog Arya and she’s one of 11 puppies from the litter. “Meet Margarey,” Jeremy simply captioned the post as he cradled the dog in a sweet snap. The TV star is no stranger to raising dogs; he has a variety of pups including two fox red labradors Sansa and Ayra as well as black hound. 

    News of the new additions to Clarkson’s Farm comes just a week after the series picked up the award for Factual Entertainment Show with his Amazon Prime team at the National Television Awards. “Farming is a difficult job and I appreciate the way people are going, ‘I didn’t know where my sausages came from’,” he said in the acceptance speech.

    “You don’t love farming, you love moments of it — it is really tricky right now. Farmers work so hard for no money so it’s delightful that people recognise a farming show can beat a house cleaning show. We shall go and have a drink,” the presenter said, finishing his speech.

    Pub woes

    While Jeremy admits that farming is “tricky right now”, it appears owning and running a pub is, too. The star revealed in early September that he was forced to trawl through CCTV footage to provide evidence after a patron of his Oxfordshire pub, The Farmer’s Dog, tried to claim thousands in compensation. Penning a column for The Times, Jeremy lamented on the woes of running a pub, something he says he’s learned the hard way – something he likens to his farming endeavours on Clarkson’s Farm.

    The woman allegedly claimed that after drinking the beer, it upset her gluten intolerance and forced her to cancel the rest of her holiday, which then saw her seek damages from Jeremy. “What happens a lot more are visits from food intolerance enthusiasts who will claim after they left that you poisoned them and that you must now give them 50,000 of your pounds,” the presenter wrote.

    “Happily, we have her on CCTV not drinking beer, so we are safe on that one. But often landlords aren’t so lucky. Many tell me this food intolerance fraud is now an epidemic,” he added. But Jeremy’s woes didn’t end there. He went on to say that after the cider incident, his pub was also hacked a week after and was subsequently swindled out of £27,000.

    Clarkson’s Farm star Kaleb Cooper has revealed how he achieved his impressive weight loss.

    Kaleb is a star on Jeremy Clarkson‘s hit Amazon Prime show, Clarkson’s Farm. It follows the pair as they work on Diddly Squat Farm.

    Kaleb has become a firm favourite with viewers, with many wanting to keep up with his personal life. Now, in a new interview, Kaleb has opened up about his weight loss.

    It comes after Jeremy suffered a health scare, which resulted in him having to have heart surgery.

    Chatting to The Sun, Kaleb, 26, said he’s on a sugar-free diet. He said: “I’m on a no-sugar thing, and it’s all because I had this dream. I did and didn’t understand the dream, but I knew I had to quit sugar.

    I’m on a no-sugar thing, and it’s all because I had this dream.

    “I went to tell Taya [his ­partner] and she thought I wouldn’t do it. I’m four weeks in now, and I’ve lost six kilos, which is pretty good.”

    He added: “I do have the odd cheat day, but only sugars that naturally occur.”

    Kaleb also shared a health update on Jeremy following his heart surgery. He said the former Top Gear host is “doing all right” as he branded him a “fighter” and “strong man”.

    Earlier this month, Jeremy, 64, opened up about his health scare. The TV star said he went to hospital after suffering symptoms following a swim on holiday.

    Jeremy said he felt “clammy”, had a “tightness in my chest” and “pins and needles in my left arm”.

    Writing for The Sunday Times, he said he had to “take a moment to make sure my limbs were working properly” when he stood up.

    Jeremy said he also struggled to climb a flight of stairs “without holding someone’s hand”.

    He explained: “Back at home, though, the sudden deterioration began to gather pace. I woke on Wednesday morning not feeling too good. I was clammy and there was a tightness in my chest.”

    After going to hospital, Jeremy said: “It seems that of the arteries feeding my heart with nourishing blood, one was completely blocked and the second of three was heading that way.”

    Jeremy said doctors believed he was potentially “days away” from becoming very ill.

    In the latest weekend of trash published by British tabloid The Sun, presenter Jeremy Clarkson has published a tirade of hateful garbage towards Meghan Markle, on the heels of her and Harry’s Netflix docuseries, Harry & Meghan. Airing last week, the couple told their side of the story of the last few years, including the symbiotic relationship between the British royal family and the press, one that had turned particularly hateful towards Meghan.

    Because he apparently cannot keep a single thought to himself, Clarkson took to The Sun to pen a lengthy opinion piece about what Meghan had done wrong, in his eyes. Notable ‘highlights’ included saying he cannot wait for the day that she would be paraded through the streets naked and have excrement thrown at her, as well as comparing the Duchess to Rose West, an English serial killer who killed a string of young women and a child.

    I won’t go into many more details about the vitriol that Clarkson threw at Meghan Markle, but safe to say it’s full of hateful and downright misogynistic language. He suggests that Meghan has essentially manipulated Harry away from his family using sexual favors and blames her for the media storm that drove her and her family from the UK.

    Clarkson’s column and his follow-up, half-hearted apology (if you can even call it that) have drummed up an outpouring of support for Meghan on Twitter and more than 6,000 official complaints levelled against the newspaper—as well as sadly a large number of people applauding his words at the same time. In fact, Jeremy Clarkson’s own daughter shared a statement on Instagram Stories distancing herself from her father’s words and expressing solidarity for Meghan’s experiences.

    Ironically, the type of opinions expressed by Clarkson only serves up more proof for Meghan and Harry’s claims in their docuseries. The couple laid out their side of the story, highlighting that certain other members of the royal family (implied to be Prince William, the current heir to the throne) had served up negative stories about Meghan to avoid being slammed in the press themselves. This began a long-standing practice in the British press and even abroad, as papers realized that negative articles about Meghan would sell—and make enormous amounts of money.

    Associated Newspapers, the publisher of the Mail on Sunday and sister website MailOnline, even used an ongoing legal case between themselves and Meghan Markle to try and extract more personal information about her and her family from her phone and accounts. It’s therefore telling that, just days after Meghan and Harry attempted to set the record straight, the press (namely The Sun) is back to the same tactics in using shock headlines and emotions running high around the royal family to put cash in their pockets.

    While it may feel like vindication to see Meghan and Harry’s point demonstrated so clearly, it doesn’t help much to change the state of the British press. Speaking as a Brit and a journalist working in the UK, it’s sad to see the number of quality media publications drop rapidly and independent journalists struggling, but publications like The Mail and The Sun continue to thrive by fostering hate on their websites. At least the article did stir up some modicum of support for Meghan—but the problem won’t truly have gone away until disgusting opinions like Clarkson’s don’t see the light of day in the first place.
