There are new details in the death of Tommy Lee Jones’ daughter Victoria, 34.
TMZ reports Victoria was found dead on New Year’s Day at Fairmont San Francisco.
Dispatch audio obtained by the site reveals she may have suffered a drug overdose.
The dispatcher can be heard saying, “Code 3 for the overdose, color change.”
The San Francisco Police Department tells TMZ that officers responded to a call regarding a deceased person at 3:14 a.m. When they arrived, officers met with paramedics who had declared an adult female dead.
According to TMZ, the Medical Examiner also conducted an investigation. At this time, Victoria’s cause of death is unknown.
A source also told NBC Bay Area that a woman believed to be Victoria was found in the hallway of the hotel. The insider added that no foul play was suspected.
Victoria was the daughter of Jones and his second wife Kimberlea Cloughley. They also share son Austin, 43.

Alexa Chung’s family Christmas looked so cosy. The model appeared to spend it in London, and the dinner set out on a minimalist table with several taper candles looked delicious.
If there’s one thing we are certain of, it’s that Cardi B does not do things by halves, and her Christmas Day was no exception. The American rapper spent the big day with her beautiful children, including her newborn baby, who was captured enjoying a cudde with his doting mother from their $6.2 million Georgia mansion.
Mariah Carey shared the details of her glamorous Christmas spruce when she took to Instagram with a beautiful family photo from the big day. Behind the A-list singer and her 14-year-old twins, Monroe and Moroccan, whom she shares with her ex-husband Nick Cannon, is a traditionally dressed tree providing the perfect festive backdrop.
Anaconda, recently released in theaters, features a post-credits scene that reveals the fate of one of the film’s core characters. The remake also includes a mid-credits scene that ties it to the original 1997 film.
The film follows a group of friends, dissatisfied with the current trajectory of their lives, who travel to the Amazon rainforest to remake the 1997 movie. Tom Gormican directed the film from his and Kevin Etten’s screenplay. Paul Rudd, Jack Black, Thandiwe Newton, Steve Zahn, and Daniela Melchior make up the main cast.
Anaconda’s mid-credits scene at the end brings back original franchise star
Anaconda’s mid-credits scene features a montage showing the fates of the film’s characters. The scene reveals that Ice Cube, one of the original film’s stars, who saved the main characters from the anaconda and went to rescue the other original stars — Jennifer Lopez and Eric Stoltz — from the creature, survived. While Stoltz’s fate is left unanswered, Lopez’s survival is confirmed, and she later appears in the film’s final scene.
Lopez visits Doug at his home and informs him that she liked the low-budget version of the film he made. She then offers him the opportunity to direct another Anaconda film that she is doing, causing Doug to faint.
Meanwhile, the post-credits scene reveals that Carlos, the snake handler hired by Griff and Doug for their film and believed to be killed by the anaconda in the first half, is alive.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Tom Gormican revealed that Lopez’s cameo was “a product of reshoots.” He added that they tried to include Lopez in principal photography, but couldn’t “coordinate” schedules. “We had always wanted a version of her to come in. And we talked about it and talked about it and talked about it. I was finally able to shoot her cameo a month ago on November 17. It was the very last thing we did,” he further stated.
Gormican continued, “I was finishing up my final mix when I went to shoot it, and I dropped it into this [mid-credit] sequence that I was having built to accommodate it. I never thought it was going to ultimately materialize, but it did, and we put it together.” The director further noted that although Lopez’s cameo’s inclusion “happened very, very late in the game,” the idea for it was conceived long ago.
Jennifer Lopez threw a lavish celebration for her beloved mother, Guadalupe Rodriguez, to commemorate her 80th birthday with a true A-lister’s flair. Many of her family members and friends joined the mother-daughter duo for the extraordinary Las Vegas party.
The 56-year-old actress and singer took to Instagram on Friday, 12 December to share some snapshots from the very special occasion with her fans and followers online, offering a glimpse into the luxurious celebration.
The ‘On The Floor’ hitmaker threw the party at the Bellagio Hotel, which is situated on the main Vegas strip. In one of the pictures, she could be seen posing with two of her siblings, Leslie and Lynda, who typically stay out of the spotlight.
Though Leslie keeps a lower profile, Lynda is a journalist and news anchor on WINS radio station. Despite being comfortable in high-profile settings, she keeps her career fame separate from her sister.
Jennifer wore an off-the-shoulder bridal white dress with a figure-hugging silhouette, accessorising with multiple pearl bracelets and a clutch that perfectly matched the hue of her dress.
Meanwhile, both of her sisters opted for the most gorgeous black dresses: Leslie’s featured an asymmetrical neckline, while Lynda’s featured a plunging neckline. Together, the three sisters looked absolutely incredible for their mother’s special day.

In her caption, the actress gushed about her mother, writing: “You are the heart of our family, my greatest teacher, and my forever example of strength, grace, and unconditional love. Everything I am is because of you…your sacrifices, your faith, your humor, and the way you love so deeply.
“Thank you for always believing in me, holding me up, and reminding me who I am. I am so blessed to be your daughter and I love you beyond words. Here’s to 80 years of beauty, resilience, and love and to many, many more moments together.”
Jennifer Lopez’s relationship with her mother
Though the two get along incredibly today, Jennifer and Guadalupe have a profoundly complicated relationship, as the Hustlers actress has explained in the past.
“She was a young mom; she got married when she was 20,” she told Entertainment Tonight. “She had my sister when she was 21…so we all grew up together. It was like living with a teenager, to be honest.”
The Kiss of the Spider-Woman star also credits her mother for her love of music. However, Guadalupe didn’t always approve of her aspirations for fame.
“I didn’t want to go to college- I wanted to try and dance full time,” she told W magazine in 2013. “So she and I had a break. I started sleeping on the sofa in the dance studio. I was homeless, but I told her, ‘This is what I have to do.’”
Eventually, after becoming a mother herself, Jennifer began to understand her plight as a young mother better, and the two slowly repaired their relationship.
Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez have had quite a run. On, off, on, off. It’s gone on for so long that it’s no wonder so many people are actively rooting for them. And it seems like on the list of people rooting for them are his kids.
RadarOnline.com is reporting that Lopez has stayed in touch with Affleck’s kids, Violet, 19, Fin, 16, and Samuel, 13, not just checking in on them, but arranging for them to hang out with her own children, Max and Emme, 17. “That’s gone a long way with Ben’s kids, and what they’d like more than anything, as would J.Lo’s kids, is to see Bennifer 3.0,” a source said.
Lopez has spoken recently about how she’s “actually good” being single and has moved away from “looking for happiness in other people.” But after she and ex-husband Affleck reunited on the red carpet of Kiss of the Spider Woman, sources around them were singing a different tune. “J.Lo had a wonderful time with Ben and says he’s as sexy and wonderful as ever,” an insider told the outlet.
“In her mind, they’re destined to be together again, plain and simple. She’s believed that all along, and now she’s even more convinced that it’s a case of when, not if, it’s going to happen.”
This all comes after reports that Affleck and his other ex-wife and the mother of his children, Jennifer Garner, had entered into a “friends with benefits” arrangement. The two divorced in 2018 after 13 years of marriage.
“Jen and Ben have always shared a really powerful bond,” a source reportedly told the outlet. “It’s built on years of love, trust, and family. Lately, that closeness has deepened – they’ve been turning to each other for comfort, and it’s naturally become something more intimate.”
The report also indicated reconciliation was not the plan. “It’s not about them getting back together,” the source said. “It’s about finding comfort in someone who knows you completely. They’ve weathered addiction, divorce, and years of co-parenting – that kind of shared history creates a connection most people could never understand.”
Reports about Garner and Affleck’s friendship and co-parenting have always abounded, but this never made any sense, considering Garner is engaged to businessman John Miller. If anything, a possible reconciliation with Affleck’s other ex, Jennifer, seems like it’s way more possible. And, apparently, what his children are hoping happens.
Affleck and Lopez have dated two separate times. They originally got together in 2002 after meeting on the set of the movie Gigli, and got engaged for the first time in November 2022. They broke that engagement in January 2004. After that, Lopez went on to marry Marc Anthony, and Affleck to marry Jennifer Garner, and they both had children with their new spouses.
In 2021, Affleck and Lopez rekindled their romance and shortly after, in April of 2022, got engaged for a second time. This time, they did tie the knot in July 2022. In August 2024, Lopez filed for divorce from Affleck on the second anniversary of their wedding ceremony.
Could a third time be the charm? We will have to wait and see.
Jennifer Lopez’s ex-husband Ojani Noa makes EXPLOSIVE claims, accuses her of…: ‘You begged me to…’
Jennifer Lopez’s husband recently exposed his relationship with ex-wife Jennifer Lopez, and accused her of cheating. The claims came after the singer and song writer made claims about not feeling loved in past relationships.
Jennifer Lopez is a star who needs no introduction. The American singer and songwriter has been making people fall in love with her songs for quite a while now. However, just as news about the singer’s music was making its way to the top, so were headlines about her personal life. Recently, she was in the news again after having a candid conversation on The Howard Stern Show. There, she made a confession about her struggles with love and relationships. The If You Had My Love singer made a confession about how she never felt loved in her past relationships. But it seems like her ex-husband, Ojnai Noa, did not appreciate that comment and reacted to it immediately.
Ojani Noa’s reaction to Jennifer Lopez’s comment goes viral
After Jennifer Lopez’s comment on The Howard Stern Show, the singer’s first ex-husband, Ojani Noa, immediately took to Instagram. On there, he accused Jennifer of not being honest during their short-lived marriage. In the statement, which was pretty strangely worded, he claimed that the problem did not lie within him or the rest of her ex-husbands, but within her, who cheated. According to him, in the 11-month-long marriage between the two, which lasted from February 1997 to January 1998, Jennifer Lopez was unfaithful. He said, “I was in love with you. I moved out of state to support, protect, and care for you. I’m an amazing, loving person, a great human being. Honest, faithful to you, never lied, never [misbehaved], never cheated on you. I was good to you. I’m too good a [man] for you.”
He continued, saying, “You decided to lie and to cheat on me, and even though I stayed. You begged me to keep the marriage intact to avoid bad press.”
Timeline of Jennifer Lopez and Ojnai Noa’s relationship
Jennifer and Ojnai met each other in the mid-1990s, back when he was working as a waiter in Miami. Their romance turned into marriage in 1997, when JLo’s fame was on the rise. However, their marriage quickly fell apart, and she filed for divorce in January 1998. Things got bad when Lopez took legal action in order to stop Ojani from releasing private footage from their honeymoon and stopped him from writing a book about their marriage. Moreover, she was also speculated to be in a relationship with Sean Diddy Combs, and Ojnai hinted that it might also be the reason for their relationship falling apart.

‘Kiss of the Spider Woman’ | Anatomy of a Scene
The director Bill Condon narrates a musical dance sequence featuring Jennifer Lopez.
Hi, I’m Bill Condon. I directed “Kiss of the Spider Woman.” I also wrote the screenplay adaptation. So this is a scene from the movie within the movie. Jennifer Lopez plays a great fashion editor who has come to this small village with Diego Luna, who is a great photographer, and her sidekick and best friend, played by Tonatiuh. Then the gangster who owns this club and controls the village, shows up. He’s played by Tony Dovolani. Tony, a legendary ballroom dancer, is someone who was in “Shall We Dance” with Jennifer years ago. So this is a reunion too, between these two great dancers. When we were building the number, Jennifer’s credo here was don’t make it easy on me. I want to do things that are difficult. So ultimately her grabbing that glass and getting on the ground and spinning and then getting up, that was all at her instigation. And I think you’ll notice here that we shot this number when they dance in one master the way they used to very wide so that you can see a full figure. The take I chose to put in the movie is the one where Diego Luna watching Jennifer pull off this amazing number sees that incredible Colleen Atwood fringe is about to crash into the champagne glass and grabs it. I just thought it was a wonderful moment. It was choreographed by all of our choreographers led by Sergio Trujillo, Christopher Scott, Brandon Bieber because we prepared this movie in three locations. Diego Luna was working in Madrid, Jennifer was in Los Angeles, and we were prepping in New York. So it was a constant kind of exchange of ideas. “I’ll see you in the lobby in the morning?” This scene also introduces a romantic triangle within the movie. Diego Luna, still in love with a woman from the village called Paulina Paz, who is dating this gangster. And Jennifer being his new love. So this triangle then gets reflected in the prison drama itself. “And with that, I say Ciao. Good night, Valentín.” “No, don’t stop now.” “It’s a bunch of silly clichés, but at least these new characters inject a bit of dramatic conflict.” “Better to leave the audience wanting more. Sleep tight.”
The director Bill Condon narrates a musical dance sequence featuring Jennifer Lopez.
Jennifer Lopez is about to shine in the new musical film Kiss of the Spider Woman. The “On the Floor” singer went all out in preparing for her multiple roles and opened up about the difficulties playing them.
Kiss of the Spider Woman is based on the 1992 stage musical by Terrence McNally, John Kander, and Fred Ebb. The film features a story between a transgender character and a cisgender political revolutionary (played by Tonatiuh and Diego Luna) who are pulled from two separate worlds and are imprisoned in one cell. Lopez plays not one, but three different characters.
“They’re the same person, but they’re three very different iterations of this woman and they’re all very different characters and they have very different looks as well,” Lopez explained to CBS News. “And that was fun. But I think the essence of who they were was very different, but still the same. And I think that was the challenge.” But another challenge for the “Let’s Get Loud” singer was performing all of these scenes in real time.
Jennifer Lopez does, in fact, sing in The Kiss of the Spider Woman. She also sings it in real time since director Bill Condon wanted the singing segments to be filmed in one take. Lopez told NPR that Condon was very “adamant that we shoot this musical in the style of a ’50’s musical – and what they would do is they would create these long shots.” She recalled that Condon specifically had her in mind because she was one of the only stars who could “perform a number from beginning to end. Like, you could do it from top to bottom perfect.”
For JLo, she wanted to do the best she could since it’s a role that “you can leave no crumbs on the floor.”
“You have to dig so deep into it.” It also taught her some lessons in show business since everything had to be quick. “You don’t have to have all the time to make something a really great piece of art. But it would have been nice to have a little more time.”
On the album for the film, Lopez sings duets with Tonatiuh and Diego Luna in songs like “I Will Dance Alone,” “An Everyday Man,” and “Gimme Love.” She also has powerhouse solos in songs “I Do Miracles” and the titular track “The Kiss of the Spider Woman.” She also debuted a new song for the soundtrack, “Never You,” which was written by John Kander, and has never been performed outside of the musical production’s developmental stages at SUNY in 1990.
Jennifer Lopez joins “CBS Mornings” to discuss her highly anticipated film “Kiss of the Spider Woman,” where she plays multiple characters imagined by a prisoner in Argentina. Lopez also shares her thoughts on Bad Bunny headlining the Super Bowl halftime show and why she still considers herself a hopeful romantic.
Few directors are as comfortable blending the theatrical with the deeply human as Bill Condon, and with Kiss of the Spider Woman, he might have struck his most delicate balance yet. The film is a reimagining of the 1985 classic that earned William Hurt an Academy Award and co-starred Raúl Juliá, but this new version takes on its own vibrant life — fusing musical storytelling, psychological drama, and dazzling visual imagination.
The story once again unfolds through the eyes of two prisoners, trapped in a grim cell but escaping through fantasy into a lush, cinematic world inspired by old Hollywood. Jennifer Lopez stars as the titular Spider Woman, a glamorous actress who seems untouched by time, while Gabriel Luna and Tonatiuh round out the cast with emotionally charged performances that blur the line between reality and illusion.
For Condon, whose credits include Chicago, Dreamgirls, Beauty and the Beast, and The Greatest Showman, the challenge was less about creating spectacle and more about making sure the spectacle served the story. As he told me, writing the script was “like solving a puzzle.” He wanted audiences to feel that “the things happening in the prison cell were reflected in the musical,” ensuring that the numbers pushed the narrative forward rather than pausing it.
He compared it to the rhythm of a great thriller: “That’s rule number one in movie musicals — you have to keep moving. It’s the Hitchcock thing. It always has to move forward,” Condon said, leaning back as if replaying the edit in his mind. “As much as you can watch a great performer stand center stage and sing for three minutes in the theater, you can’t do that in a movie. A character has to be in a different spot at the end of the song than they were at the beginning.”
That constant momentum pays off. The musical numbers in Kiss of the Spider Woman never feel like interruptions — they’re extensions of the characters’ inner lives. The film’s songs bleed naturally from the dialogue, as if imagination itself were leaking through the cracks of the prison walls. And at the center of it all is Lopez, delivering one of her most captivating performances in years.
At 56, Lopez plays the Spider Woman as both muse and mirror — a timeless screen goddess embodying the seductive escape of cinema itself. She moves through Condon’s world like she was born to inhabit it: effortless, magnetic, and layered with the kind of emotional gravity that made Hustlers a career-defining role.
Her co-star Tonatiuh brings equal intensity to the film’s duality — portraying both the fantasy film star Kendall Nesbit and the imaginative, gender-fluid character Molina. For the actor, the role was transformative. “I feel like I’ve been waiting my entire life for an opportunity like this,” he said, smiling as he recalled his first read-through. “The script that Bill gifted all of us was a dream — playing multiple characters within one film. To live in that classic Hollywood world was delicious, but then to transition to Molina, who’s this incredible, genderless expression full of wit and light… it was incredible.”
Tonatiuh, a lifelong admirer of Condon’s work, said stepping onto his set was both thrilling and intimidating. “I’ve been such a huge fan of his for years,” he admitted. “It’s funny because I always say there are three Bill Condons. There’s the legend whose films I’ve admired, there’s the director whose process as a cinephile is just gobsmacking, and then there’s Bill—my friend. To see the man behind the curtain, to hear his humor and warmth, that’s been one of the biggest gifts of my career.”
That sense of collaboration is what gives Kiss of the Spider Woman its heart. Condon’s direction blurs fantasy and truth without ever losing emotional clarity, and his partnership with Lopez and Tonatiuh brings real intimacy to a story about imagination as survival. It’s as if the film itself understands the need to dream when reality becomes unbearable.
Produced by Artists Equity, the film dazzles on nearly every level — from its sumptuous set design to its haunting score — and carries an unmistakable emotional weight beneath its glamor. It’s a film about love, repression, and the fragile line between escapism and freedom.
And while remakes often crumble under the pressure of comparison, this one does the opposite. It honors the original, yet completely redefines it. Kiss of the Spider Woman isn’t just another adaptation — it’s a rebirth.
It’s in theaters now, and it’s one you shouldn’t miss — not just for Lopez’s career-best work, but for the artistry of a director and cast who understand that, sometimes, the most powerful escapes are the ones we create ourselves.
Even if you don’t know Rita Hazan by name, you know her work. The New York City native has been behind the hair color transformations of some of the biggest pop stars since the late ‘90s, from Mariah Carey’s first foray into lighter locks (and eventual blonde makeover) for her 1997 album, Butterfly, to Jennifer Lopez’s post-Selena honey highlights and Katy Perry’s full range of rainbow colors. And then there’s Beyoncé, who first came to Hazan in 2013 and has been working with her ever since.
But Hazan’s impact in the beauty industry extends far beyond her impressive list of celebrity clients. In the male-dominated field of hair coloring, Hazan carved out her own path: First by developing a coloring technique that defied (and eventually set) trends, then with the opening of her namesake salon and product line. “I didn’t even think about it as a woman; I just really loved doing color,” Hazan tells Observer of what drove her to take risks. After attending beauty school at 17, Hazan immediately went to work at Oribe Canales’ legendary Fifth Avenue salon, where she assisted color director Brad Johns (whose clients famously included Christy Turlington and Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy) through much of the ‘90s. “I got promoted, and that’s where I was doing a little bit different hair color. Brad was all about chunky, very golden highlights, and I went the opposite way of that,” Hazan says. “My family background is Egyptian and Jewish, and we like to be blonde, but we don’t like to be goldy,” she adds of what inspired her more seamless approach to blonde color.
By the early 2000s, Hazan’s work with Mariah Carey, Jennifer Lopez and Jessica Simpson had established her as the go-to colorist for pop It girls and up-and-comers alike. “If you wanted to create an image or change your look, you would come to me,” confirms Hazan. All the while, she was still busy at Oribe with her usual clients, one of whom first planted the idea of opening her own salon. “I was like, ‘Who the hell wants that headache?’” Hazan laughs. “But I told my client I’d think about it, and when I went home and said something to my mom, she said, ‘If you want to, just open your own place.’ So I did, and that was it.”
Rita Hazan Rita Hazan.
After establishing her Fifth Avenue salon as the place for A-listers and those in the know, Hazan developed her own product line, which most famously introduced the world to the first root cover-up spray (inspired by and developed for her clients as an at-home solution for grays in between color appointments). But after 20 years in the industry, Hazan was introduced to her most famous client to date: Beyoncé. “About 12 years ago, [hair stylist] Kim Kimble called me and was like, ‘Beyoncé wants to be blonde but her hair keeps turning orange, and I told her, Rita is the only person that’s going to get you the color that you want. Can you do her hair?’” Hazan recalls of the singer’s first visit to her salon. Hazan delivered, and the two have been working together ever since. The colorist is behind every Beyoncé hair look of the past decade, from her bright blonde at the 2015 Met Gala to her more dimensional, “sunwashed” color during the 2023 Renaissance tour.
“We’ll go back and forth on color ideas, but I’m always making sure it looks good for video and with movement—Beyoncé is flipping her hair and she’s up and down when she’s onstage, so every aspect of her hair has to look beautiful,” Hazan says of their collaboration process. “She also grew up in a hair salon, so she understands what’s possible and what’s not.”
This fall, Hazan is sharing her coloring expertise through open classes at her salon, now located on the Upper East Side. “I really like educating, and everybody is always asking me about going blonde without it getting damaged or brassy, so I’d like to do classes in the salon that are affordable and open to anybody who wants to come in,” she says. In between creating buttery blonde color for her clients (Hazan’s top trending color for fall), Rita Hazan spoke with Observer about her current essentials—from the red lip that’s become part of her everyday uniform to the at-home hair gloss with results so good, she uses it in the salon.
Despite what people might tell you, the sheer dress trend is still very much the leading aesthetic in the style sphere at the moment, and Jennifer Lopez just proved exactly why. On Tuesday night, the 56-year-old actress, singer, songwriter and mother was spotted appearing on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, and as expected, she dressed to impress for the occasion.
Currently on the promotional tour for her newest musical drama film, Kiss of the Spider Woman, the Hollywood Heavyweight proved there’s more than one way to promote a film, turning to her impeccable style game to get fans chatting.
JLo’s dreamy dress for the occasion would be perfect for New Year’s Eve
Putting a festive twist on a cult classic, Jennifer turned to Elie Saab’s Resort ‘26 collection, settling on a dazzling sparkly gown, complete with billowing sleeves and beige luxe lace accents. On the runway, the dress was shown as a plunging neckline style, but to keep things more modest, JLo and her stylist Mariel Haenn added a lacey slip underneath.
Sequins and lace are always a good idea when it comes to creating a striking look
To complete the shimmering look, JLo wore her long bronde locks up in a low ponytail, leaving out a few face-framing tendrils. As for her glam, glowy and bronzed was clearly the brief for the evening. Pairing a subtle brown smoky eye with sharp contouring and a lick of tonal gloss.
Her glowy makeup look added an extra touch of elegance
Accessories-wise, Jenny from the Block kept things simple, adding a simple gold pendant necklace around her neck, a pair of drop earrings and a set of sky-high platform heels.
As far as ‘naked dressing’ goes, JLo is a major fan. Earlier this week, she opted for a semi-sheer Harris Reed option to attend the New York Screening of her new film alongside ex-husband Ben Affleck. Just weeks before that, she was seen styling a plunging, floral Roberto Cavalli gown over a set of white briefs at the YES Gala.
While on the topic of sheer gowns that have garnered the attention of fashion lovers, earlier this year, she wore a shimmering Stephane Rolland skirt with a black longsleeve top to The Grammys.
With party season (finally) in reach, a touch of sheer and shimmer is always a good idea, and Jennifer’s recent look is the blueprint for what a great soirée ensemble should be.

(CNN) — Jennifer Lopez, campaigning with Kamala Harris on Thursday in Nevada, said Donald Trump’s campaign had offended “every Latino in this country” with his Sunday rally at Madison Square Garden, where a comedian mocked Puerto Rico.
The pop star and actress’ comments at Harris’ rally in Las Vegas came as outrage continues to reverberate over the pro-Trump comedian calling the US island territory of Puerto Rico — where Lopez’s parents were born — a “floating island of garbage.”
“At Madison Square Garden, he reminded us who he really is and how he really feels,” Lopez said of Trump. “It wasn’t just Puerto Ricans who were offended that day, OK? It was every Latino in this country, it was humanity and anyone of decent character.”
Harris’ stop in Las Vegas with Lopez came during a swing through the hotly contested Western battlegrounds of Arizona and Nevada — where CNN polls released earlier this week showed exceedingly close races with no clear leader.
The vice president has deployed a growing list of celebrities and musicians with huge social media followings in the race’s closing days, as her campaign seeks to turn out key constituencies — including Black voters in Georgia and Latinos out West. That list ranges from music legends Stevie Wonder and Bruce Springsteen, who have performed at Harris events in Georgia, to the stars of Marvel’s “Avengers” movies, who backed the vice president on social media Thursday.
But the most impactful support might come from Puerto Rican stars like Lopez, who have grown more vocal since Trump’s Madison Square Garden rally.
“This is our country, too,” Lopez said Thursday night.
At one point, she fought back tears.
“You know what? We should be emotional. We should be upset. We should be scared and outraged. We should. Our pain matters. We matter,” Lopez said. “Your voice and your vote matters.”
Other Puerto Rican celebrities have also been critical of Trump in recent days.
Bad Bunny, one of the world’s biggest Latin music stars, shared Harris’ platform for Puerto Rico on social media on Sunday. And reggaeton star Nicky Jam, who had previously appeared onstage with Trump, withdrew his endorsement of the former president, saying, “Puerto Rico should be respected.”
Trump has long sought to make inroads with Black and Latino men. In the critical swing state of Pennsylvania, in particular, a sizable portion of the rapidly growing Latino population is of Puerto Rican heritage.
Harris’ campaign on Thursday launched a Spanish-language ad, aimed at reaching Latino voters, that highlighted comedian Tony Hinchcliffe’s remark at the Trump rally.
“Puerto Rico is an island of scientists, poets, educators, stars and heroes,” the narrator of the ad says in Spanish. “We’re not trash, we’re more.”
The Trump campaign has sought to distance itself from Hinchcliffe, with Trump campaign spokesperson Danielle Alvarez saying in a statement after the rally, “This joke does not reflect the views of President Trump or the campaign.”
And Trump’s campaign has sought to turn attention to another “garbage” remark — pointing to President Joe Biden’s comment on Tuesday night that many interpreted as referring to Trump supporters as “garbage.” (The White House and Biden quickly tried to clean up the comment, saying that the president was referring to “supporter’s,” as in the comedian, and the rhetoric at the Madison Square Garden rally.)
Harris, in Las Vegas, said Trump is “all about hate and division.” She said if he is elected again, he would reinstate a policy that led to migrant families being separated at the US-Mexico border.
Lopez repeatedly said Harris “gets it” — and said she understands what it means for immigrant families to chase the American dream, because her parents were also immigrants.
She also said she believes “in the power of women.”
“Women have the power to make the difference in this election,” Lopez said.
The singer’s comments came the same day Harris seized on Trump’s remark in Wisconsin the night before that he will protect women, “whether the women like it or not.” He said he would protect them “from migrants coming in” and “from foreign countries with missiles and lots of other things.”
The vice president told reporters on Thursday that Trump’s comment is “very offensive to women, in terms of not understanding their agency, their authority, their right and their ability to make decisions about their own lives, including their own bodies.”
She pointed to Trump’s appointment of three conservative Supreme Court justices who helped undo Roe v. Wade’s national abortion rights protections. Trump said earlier this month he would veto a national abortion ban, but has waffled on the issue in the past, and many Republican-led states have imposed their own restrictive laws.
Polls show this year’s election could see a historic gender gap, with a majority of men backing Trump and women supporting Harris — a reality that helps explain Harris’ emphasis on an issue that has proven potent with voters, particularly women, since the Supreme Court’s 2022 decision.
As she campaigned in Reno, Nevada, on Thursday, Harris again raised Trump’s remarks, which she called “outrageous.”
“This is someone who simply does not respect the freedom of women or the intelligence of women to make decisions about their own lives,” she said.
There are eight days remaining in the 2024 Presidential Election for Vice President Kamala D. Harris and former President Donald J. Trump. In the last week, Vice President Harris visited Clarkston, an enclave bordered by Decatur to the west and Stone Mountain to the east. Friday, Harris visited Houston, Texas to campaign alongside U.S. Represntative Colin Allred, Kelly Rowland, and Beyoncé. Saturday, Michelle Obama joined Harris to rally voters in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Meanwhile, Trump headlined a rally at Madison Square Garden and is set to return to Atlanta tonight at Georgia Tech.
What do we know about the race with one week to go?
First, the early voting turnout in Georgia has surpassed the levels from 2020. As of 6am Monday morning, 38.9% of Georgia’s registered voters have made their choice in this year’s presidential election. More than 2.81 million voters have cast their ballot. Black voters make up nearly 34% of that turnout. The general rule of thumb is if more than 30% of Black voters vote for the Democratic Party, it bodes well for their chances. In the cases for Cobb, DeKalb, Douglas, Fulton and Henry Counties, total turnout has been north of 40% during the early voting period.
Additionally, 71,000 Georgians who were registered to vote in 2020, but did not cast a ballot in that election, have already cast a ballot this year during the first week of early voting. Among newly-activated voters, Democrats currently hold an edge.
Every single survey has Harris and Trump locked in a dead heat in Georgia.

A Woman’s Right to Choose is central to Democrats closing message
During each campaign stop, one message was clear: reproductive freedom for women is true freedom for all Americans. The stories of the pain and suffering were told in an effervescent manner. Thursday, the family of Amber Nicole Thurman attended the Harris rally in Clarkston. Friday, Harris rallied voters in Houston on her pledge to codify Roe v. Wade into federal law. Texas, like Georgia, abortion procedures are prohibited at six weeks – before many women know they are pregnant – with exceptions only if the mother’s life is in danger.
“So do you think Donald Trump is thinking about the consequences for the millions of women who will be living in medical deserts,” asked Michelle Obama during her speech in Houston. “Does anyone think he has the emotional maturity and foresight to come up with a plan to protect us?”
During an event hosted by Maya Harris, the women backing the Vice President Harris urged attendees to vote early and in person, emphasizing the significance of youth and diverse voter engagement. Maya Harris also underscored the Vice President’s commitment to reproductive freedom. The message was clear: individual efforts can make a significant impact, and the collective goal is to ensure Kamala Harris becomes the next President.
Objectives for enshrining Roe
Vote for Kamala Harris in the upcoming election, as she has pledged to protect reproductive rights and expand access to healthcare.
Women must have open and honest conversations important men in their lives to make it clear that protecting women’s health and rights is a priority. Urge the gentlemen to vote accordingly.
Encourage women, especially first-time voters, to exercise their right to vote and make their voices heard on these critical issues.
Support efforts to pass legislation that would restore nationwide protections for reproductive rights.
Advocate against policies and politicians that seek to restrict or undermine access to reproductive healthcare, including abortion, contraception, and maternal care.

“It is why she has spent her entire life fighting for each of us to be able to have that freedom,” explained Maya Harris. “To put a fine point on it, like the freedom to make our own decisions about our health, our families and our futures. Which includes our reproductive freedom, which is a defining issue, not just in this election, but for our entire country. And certainly for this room in so many ways. It’s an issue that Kamala has been the strongest, most vocal champion of this issue since the overturning of Roe v Wade.”
Puerto Rico, an American territory, MAGA’s latest target
While Kamala Harris was in Philadelphia on Sunday, Donald Trump staged a rally at Madison Square Garden in New York City. It was apropos for Trump to hold such an event on an NFL Sunday. Trump notoriously failed in his attempt to buy the Buffalo Bills and the NFL put the former United States Football League out of business in the 1980s.
As for modern times, Trump and his surrogates put on a rally that was red meat for conservatives living on Long Island and Staten Island. Comedian Tony Hinchcliff warmed up the crowd by dehumanizing Puerto Ricans when he said, “I don’t know if you know this but there’s literally a floating island of garbage in the middle of the ocean right now. I think it’s called Puerto Rico.” That joke did not go over well for U.S. Senator Rick Scott, a Republican from Florida currently fighting to keep his seat.
The problem for Scott is that every speaker was vetted by Team Trump. Scott is locked in a battle with Debbie Mucarsel-Powell for his seat in November’s elections. Florida is home to the largest number of Puerto Ricans in the United States outside of the island itself.
Conversely, Marc Anthony, Bad Bunny, Jennifer Lopez, Ricky Martin, Luis Fonsi and others have shared a post by Kamala Harris which outlines her plans for Puerto Rico. Each person is supporting Harris in the election.
Notably, about 100,000 Puerto Ricans live in Georgia. Also notable, it took the Trump team six hours to clean up the disastrous fallout from the joke. “This joke does not reflect the views of President Trump or the campaign,” says Trump campaign Senior Advisor Danielle Alvarez. I mean, this too is a lie because Trump spent the week calling America a ‘garbage can.’ Trump also wanted to swap Puerto Rico for Greenland in 2020.
Trump does nothing to distance himself from the fascist labels
David Rem, a Trump surrogate, called Vice President Harris ‘the antichrist’. Tucker Carlson referred to Harris as, ‘a Samoan, Malaysian, low IQ former California prosecutor.’ Stephen Miller said, ‘America is for Americans and Americans only.’ That quote was directly lifted from Adolf Hitler’s speech in 1934 when he said, ‘Germany is for Germans and Germans only.’ No coincidence here. The Nazi Party held a rally at the World’s Most Famous Arena in 1939, espousing similar views.
This story will not directly discuss Trump’s former Chief of Staff John Kelly proclaiming that his former boss is a fascist and wishes he had generals that are loyal to him like Hitler’s. However, Miller’s quote is directly reminiscent of Joseph Goebbels, the philosopher of the Nazi Party. Goebbels drafted its literature which was cloaked in antisemitism.
For Trump, he realized his dream of seeing his name in lights on Sunday. Like his rally in Traverse City on Friday, Trump showed up hours late for his event. Trump labeled the Democrats as ‘the enemy from within’ because he believes they’ve done terrible things to America. Trump rattled through his greatest hits Sunday. He attacked the media and referred to America’s generals as ‘weak, stupid people’. Trump also said FEMA’s response to Hurricane Helene in Georgia, North Carolina and South Carolina was worse than Hurricane Katrina because FEMA paid out money to undocumented immigrants. That is an outright lie.
Subsequently, his followers left MSG after they could not sit around any longer.
Black Men and the Vote

During Sunday night’s WinWithBlackMen call, it emphasized the importance of increasing Black voter turnout in key battleground states. Key metrics included Black women voting 34-56 points above Black men in some states, and over 65% of Black voters aged 65+ having already voted. In Georgia, 38% of Black men have voted in the 2024 Elections.
Many leaders on the call were emphasizing to young voters that their vote can make a critical difference. For example, The Collective PAC is hiring up to 15,000 voting ambassadors in key swing states, including Georgia, to organize their friends and family. They are encouraging young people to sign up as ambassadors and leverage their personal networks to drive voter turnout.
The idea that Black men are not turning out for Harris is a myth. 72% of Black men are supporting Harris according to a Pew Research Center survey. However, misogyny is what is driving conversation. It is not a myth that misogyny by some Black men are being platformed by the Republican Party. Those pleas got hollowed out when “Dixie” was played before the U.S. Representative, Byron Donalds, was introduced in New York City Sunday afternoon.
The finish line is approaching
With eight days remaining, the Harris campaign has momentum. They are packing out stadiums. If polling data is not to be trusted, follow the money. The Harris campaign raised more than $1 billion in the period before September 30th, according to official filings.
Conversely, the Trump campaign is resigned to using racism and threats of violence. Trump even winked at the U.S. House Speaker, Mike Johnson, saying: “I think with our little secret we are gonna do really well with the house. Our little secret is having a big impact. He and I have a little secret. We will tell you what it is when the race is over.” Trump hopes the Election has enough chaos that it shall be thrown into the House of Representatives.
Donald Trump pledges to use the Alien and Sedition Acts of 1798. It was created to deport individuals during war with France, to deport undocumented immigrants from the United States. While Trump’s surrogates are making jingoistic and xenophobic remarks, Vice President Kamala Harris is shoring up support within Latino communities in Philadelphia.
The case for both candidates is now in the collective hands of Georgia voters.
A close one. Ben Affleck narrowly avoided an encounter with his soon-to-be ex-wife Jennifer Lopez at an event in Brentwood, California recently. The plot thickened as Affleck arrived with none other than his former spouse, Jennifer Garner, setting the stage for what could have been a very awkward run-in.
In photos obtained by Page Six, the 52-year-old actor appeared to keep things low-key, sporting a casual ensemble of jeans paired with a maroon jacket and shirt. By his side was ex-wife Jennifer Garner, 52, who echoed the laid-back vibe in jeans and a cozy black sweater. Adding to the family affair, the former couple brought along their 15-year-old, Fin.
Meanwhile, J-Lo, 55, made a solo entrance. The pop icon and actress showed up in a chic gray jumpsuit cinched at the waist, complemented by nude heels. She wasn’t entirely alone, though—her 16-year-old, Emme, was part of her entourage, along with a few friends.
This near-miss comes hot on the heels of Lopez’s candid interview with comedian Nikki Glaser, where she opened up about her recent split from Affleck. “Everything that I’ve done over the past 25, 30 years, being in these different challenging situations, what can I f—king do when it’s just me flying on my own … what if I’m just free?” Lopez shared, hinting at her newfound independence.
The “On the Floor” singer didn’t hold back, describing her post-breakup journey as “lonely, unfamiliar, scary, sad” and even “desperate.” However, she’s quick to add a silver lining: “When you sit in those feelings and go, ‘These things are not going to kill me,’ it’s like, ‘Actually, I am capable of joy and happiness all by myself.’”
Lopez filed for divorce in August 2024, marking the end of her two-year marriage with Affleck. The couple’s whirlwind romance had captivated fans since their reunion in 2021, following their initial engagement back in the early 2000s.
While Lopez seems ready to bare her soul about the split, sources close to Affleck suggest he’s taking a different approach. An insider revealed to OK! Magazine that Affleck “didn’t get a heads up” about Lopez’s recent interview. “Ben knows that she will talk about the breakup forever,” the source added. “He would love for her not to talk about it, but he feels she will always speak out.”
Despite their differing coping mechanisms, the source emphasized that Affleck is “OK with however Jen has to deal with it,” recognizing that “People deal with loss and breakup in their own way.”
WASHINGTON (AP) — Former first lady Michelle Obama will headline a rally in Atlanta a week before the Nov. 5 election alongside celebrities and civic leaders focusing on engaging younger and first-time voters, as well as voters of color.
The Oct. 29 event will be hosted by When We All Vote, a nonpartisan civic engagement group that Obama founded in 2018 to “change the culture around voting” and reach out to people who are less likely to engage in politics and elections.
The rally is likely to help the campaign of Vice President Kamala Harris, the Democratic presidential nominee, in a closely contested state. Obama is one of the party’s best-known figures and gave a speech boosting Harris’ candidacy at the national convention in August.
It is unclear which celebrities will attend the rally but organizers noted that the group’s co-chairs include professional basketball players Stephen Curry and Chris Paul; musical artists Becky G, H.E.R., Selena Gomez, Jennifer Lopez and Janelle Monáe; beauty influencer Bretman Rock; and actors Tom Hanks, Lin-Manuel Miranda and Kerry Washington.
The group has hosted more than 500 “Party at the Polls” events across the country focused on increasing voter registration and turnout. The events have ranged from pop-up block parties in Las Vegas, Phoenix and Philadelphia to voter registration partnerships with professional sports leagues and music festivals over the past year.
“The goal is to take the energy and momentum at the rally to the ballot box,” said Beth Lynk, executive director of When We All Vote. “We want to bring the culture, the energy and the momentum together in one big space.”
Lynk said the group chose Atlanta because of the state’s diversity and the impact that only a handful of voters can make in Georgia. About one-third of Georgia’s electorate is Black alongside rapidly growing Asian American and Latino communities. When We All Vote is focused on engaging college students on campuses in the metropolitan Atlanta area, Lynk said.
“Something that we have been hearing from young voters is that a lot of people don’t believe that their votes have power. But they do, plain and simple,” Lynk said. “We know that democracy has to work for all of us and that’s what we will be stressing at this rally.”
The rally will take place just before early voting ends in Georgia on Nov. 1, less than a week before Election Day.
