  • Ben Affleck’s Kids Begging Him to Give Ex ‘Another Chance’—They’d ‘Like More Than Anything’ For Them to Get Back Together

Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez have had quite a run. On, off, on, off. It’s gone on for so long that it’s no wonder so many people are actively rooting for them. And it seems like on the list of people rooting for them are his kids.

RadarOnline.com is reporting that Lopez has stayed in touch with Affleck’s kids, Violet, 19, Fin, 16, and Samuel, 13, not just checking in on them, but arranging for them to hang out with her own children, Max and Emme, 17. “That’s gone a long way with Ben’s kids, and what they’d like more than anything, as would J.Lo’s kids, is to see Bennifer 3.0,” a source said.

Related: Who has Ben Affleck dated?

Lopez has spoken recently about how she’s “actually good” being single and has moved away from “looking for happiness in other people.” But after she and ex-husband Affleck reunited on the red carpet of Kiss of the Spider Woman, sources around them were singing a different tune. “J.Lo had a wonderful time with Ben and says he’s as sexy and wonderful as ever,” an insider told the outlet.

“In her mind, they’re destined to be together again, plain and simple. She’s believed that all along, and now she’s even more convinced that it’s a case of when, not if, it’s going to happen.”

This all comes after reports that Affleck and his other ex-wife and the mother of his children, Jennifer Garner, had entered into a “friends with benefits” arrangement. The two divorced in 2018 after 13 years of marriage.

“Jen and Ben have always shared a really powerful bond,” a source reportedly told the outlet. “It’s built on years of love, trust, and family. Lately, that closeness has deepened – they’ve been turning to each other for comfort, and it’s naturally become something more intimate.”

The report also indicated reconciliation was not the plan. “It’s not about them getting back together,” the source said. “It’s about finding comfort in someone who knows you completely. They’ve weathered addiction, divorce, and years of co-parenting – that kind of shared history creates a connection most people could never understand.”

Reports about Garner and Affleck’s friendship and co-parenting have always abounded, but this never made any sense, considering Garner is engaged to businessman John Miller. If anything, a possible reconciliation with Affleck’s other ex, Jennifer, seems like it’s way more possible. And, apparently, what his children are hoping happens.

Affleck and Lopez have dated two separate times. They originally got together in 2002 after meeting on the set of the movie Gigli, and got engaged for the first time in November 2022. They broke that engagement in January 2004. After that, Lopez went on to marry Marc Anthony, and Affleck to marry Jennifer Garner, and they both had children with their new spouses.

In 2021, Affleck and Lopez rekindled their romance and shortly after, in April of 2022, got engaged for a second time. This time, they did tie the knot in July 2022. In August 2024, Lopez filed for divorce from Affleck on the second anniversary of their wedding ceremony.

Could a third time be the charm? We will have to wait and see.

  • Violet Affleck Advocates for Mask Mandates at the United Nations: “I’m Furious”

Violet Affleck, eldest child of Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner, is using her platform to raise awareness. The activist delivered an impassioned speech at the United Nations this week, where she spoke about COVID-19 and long COVID, the most persistent form of the virus. Affleck said that she has been affected by the latter and that such a condition can persist long after recovery, with symptoms ranging from shortness of breath to dizziness.

The 19-year-old, a student at Yale University, strongly criticized the return to a maskless existence, and said that those living with long COVID now cast aside by most of the world. “Leaders tell us that we are the future,” a mask-wearing Affleck began. “But when it comes to the current pandemic, our present is being stolen before our eyes.” She lambasted some leaders for “ignoring, minimizing, and hiding both the prevalence of airborne transmission and the threat of the long COVID.” Affleck continued her remarks by providing information on the virus behind COVID-19, emphasizing the risks to those affected should other people carry it.

It was a heartfelt appeal, during which Affleck said she was “terrified,” especially for children who, in her words, “will not know a world without debilitating pain and exhaustion, who cannot trust their bodies to play, explore, and imagine” because of the contagion. “I’m furious for them,” she added. “It’s first-rate negligence to look children in the eye and say, ‘We know how to protect you, and we didn’t. We have access to technology to prevent airborne diseases, something that millions of our ancestors and millions of people around the world would kill for today, and we refuse to use it.’”

Affleck compared this fight for clean indoor air to another societal action born of a health crisis—the banning of smoking in public places. “We can recognize filtered air as a human right, as intuitively as we do filtered water,” she said. “We can create clean air infrastructure that is so ubiquitous and so obviously necessary, tomorrow’s children don’t even know why we need it.”

This is not the first time Affleck has spoken out on such issues. In 2024, at the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors, she had hoped that good quality masks and testing would be free to the citizenry, reiterating her opposition to a ban on wearing masks. Affleck contracted a post-viral condition that offered her perspective on the long-term consequences of such a disease. More than five years later, Affleck has turned that experience into an opportunity to use her voice for those without a famous last name.

Ben Affleck Risked a Run-In With J-Lo After Bringing Jen Garner to the Same Event

A close one. Ben Affleck narrowly avoided an encounter with his soon-to-be ex-wife Jennifer Lopez at an event in Brentwood, California recently. The plot thickened as Affleck arrived with none other than his former spouse, Jennifer Garner, setting the stage for what could have been a very awkward run-in.

Related: J-Lo Says She’s Still ‘Grateful’ For This One Thing About Ben Amid Their Divorce

In photos obtained by Page Six, the 52-year-old actor appeared to keep things low-key, sporting a casual ensemble of jeans paired with a maroon jacket and shirt. By his side was ex-wife Jennifer Garner, 52, who echoed the laid-back vibe in jeans and a cozy black sweater. Adding to the family affair, the former couple brought along their 15-year-old, Fin.

Meanwhile, J-Lo, 55, made a solo entrance. The pop icon and actress showed up in a chic gray jumpsuit cinched at the waist, complemented by nude heels. She wasn’t entirely alone, though—her 16-year-old, Emme, was part of her entourage, along with a few friends.

This near-miss comes hot on the heels of Lopez’s candid interview with comedian Nikki Glaser, where she opened up about her recent split from Affleck. “Everything that I’ve done over the past 25, 30 years, being in these different challenging situations, what can I f—king do when it’s just me flying on my own … what if I’m just free?” Lopez shared, hinting at her newfound independence.

The “On the Floor” singer didn’t hold back, describing her post-breakup journey as “lonely, unfamiliar, scary, sad” and even “desperate.” However, she’s quick to add a silver lining: “When you sit in those feelings and go, ‘These things are not going to kill me,’ it’s like, ‘Actually, I am capable of joy and happiness all by myself.’”

Lopez filed for divorce in August 2024, marking the end of her two-year marriage with Affleck. The couple’s whirlwind romance had captivated fans since their reunion in 2021, following their initial engagement back in the early 2000s.

While Lopez seems ready to bare her soul about the split, sources close to Affleck suggest he’s taking a different approach. An insider revealed to OK! Magazine that Affleck “didn’t get a heads up” about Lopez’s recent interview. “Ben knows that she will talk about the breakup forever,” the source added. “He would love for her not to talk about it, but he feels she will always speak out.”

Despite their differing coping mechanisms, the source emphasized that Affleck is “OK with however Jen has to deal with it,” recognizing that “People deal with loss and breakup in their own way.”

  • Jennifer Garner Is Clued Into What Really ‘Went Wrong’ Before Ben & J-Lo’s Divorce

Jennifer Garner Is Clued Into What Really ‘Went Wrong’ Before Ben & J-Lo’s Divorce

As reports continue to pour in about Bennifer’s split, eyes are turning to Jennifer Garner, Ben Affleck‘s ex-wife and mother of his three children. Despite their own split nearly a decade ago, it seems Jennifer Garner’s reaction to Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez’s divorce filing is proof of her continued support for her ex-husband during this challenging time.

A source close to the situation shared with Us Weekly that Affleck was leaning on Garner for support as his relationship with Lopez hit rocky terrain. “Ben has confided in Jen in a lot of ways,” the insider shared, adding, “Especially lately when things with J.Lo haven’t been so great in recent months.”

Related: Ben Was Reportedly at His ‘Breaking Point’ Over J-Lo & Jen Garner Felt ‘Responsible’

Affleck and Garner have maintained a positive relationship even after their own split in 2015. “Ben and Jennifer are friends, and they have a great coparenting relationship,” the insider revealed, referring to the former couple’s children: Violet, 18, Fin, 15, and Samuel, 12.

It’s no secret that co-parenting can be tricky, but Affleck and Garner appear to have cracked the code. The source explained that the pair have a “mutual understanding that their kids come first” and “also get along really well.” This dynamic has apparently fostered “a deep level of trust and respect between them.”

But don’t mistake Garner’s support for secret satisfaction. The source claims that Garner was actually rooting for Affleck and Lopez to work things out. “Jen was hopeful that things would work out between them but of course, she just wants them to be happy,” the insider shared. “So she supports whatever path they’ve decided to take.”

Affleck and Lopez tied the knot in July 2022, but their honeymoon phase seemed short-lived. By May 2024, reports surfaced that Affleck had moved out of their shared Beverly Hills home. The plot thickened in July when Lopez celebrated her birthday solo in the Hamptons, with Affleck noticeably absent. Their radio silence on what would’ve been their two-year wedding anniversary in July raised more eyebrows. The final blow came on August 20, 2024, when Lopez officially filed for divorce, citing April 26 as their separation date—revealing that their marriage had actually been on the rocks for months.

As for Garner’s own love life, she’s currently dating John Miller and seems content to keep her distance from the Bennifer drama. The source noted, “She is trying her best to stay out of their relationship in terms of what went wrong because she doesn’t feel like it’s any of her business.”

While the details of Affleck and Lopez’s split continue to emerge, it’s clear that Garner’s priority remains her children and maintaining a healthy co-parenting relationship with Affleck—and honestly, it’s refreshing to see these exes supporting each other through life’s ups and downs.

  • Jennifer Garner ‘Doesn’t Like’ Ben Affleck & J-Lo’s Drama Affecting Their Kids

Jennifer Garner ‘Doesn’t Like’ Ben Affleck & J-Lo’s Drama Affecting Their Kids

All things considered, Jennifer Garner’s response to Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez’s divorce rumors has been pretty supportive of the pair—but now, some sources are now saying that she’s drawing a line when it comes to their relationship drama affecting their kids.

A close source recently revealed to Fox News Digital that Garner wasn’t expecting Affleck to rekindle his relationship with Lopez—or all the media attention that comes with it. “Jennifer Garner felt blindsided by Ben’s relationship with JLo,” the source said. “She doesn’t like her kids in the public eye so much, and that’s been hard for her.”

Garner and Affleck share three children—Violet, 18, Seraphina (who might be going by Fin now), 15, and Samuel, 12. Garner has always been super protective of their privacy. But ever since Affleck and Lopez’s high-profile marriage, it’s been paparazzi galore, and apparently, Garner’s not having it. “She doesn’t like the constant attention around her kids because of Jennifer Lopez’s fame,” another source added.

It’s not just the flashing cameras and headlines, though. There’s also been a lot of speculation about the state of Ben and J-Lo’s marriage, and it’s weighing on Garner, too. InTouch Weekly was the first to report claims about Bennifer’s relationship being on the rocks. According to an insider, “The writing is on the wall—it’s over. They’re headed for a divorce—and for once, [Ben’s] not to blame!” The source went on to say Ben is focusing on his work and kids now, implying he had already moved out and the couple was thinking of selling their dream house.

HOLLYWOOD, CALIFORNIA - FEBRUARY 13: (L-R) Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez attend the Los Angeles premiere of Amazon MGM Studios

But before you start feeling too sorry for Bennifer, Us Weekly painted a different picture. A source told them that while Affleck and Lopez are having some issues, they’re not divorcing. Instead, the insider suggested that they’ve had some arguments, mostly because J-Lo’s been ramping up her work commitments and prepping for her tour. “Jen is very focused on work. They are on two completely different pages most of the time,” the insider shared. Still, three different sources confirmed they’re working on resolving their problems, so maybe there’s hope yet.

Affleck and Lopez’s love story dates back to 2001 when they met on the set of Gigli. They first got engaged in 2002 but called it off before the wedding in 2003. Fast forward to 2022, they rekindled their romance and got married in July of the same year. Reflecting on their journey, Lopez shared in her newsletter, “We did it. Love is beautiful. Love is kind. And it turns out love is patient. Twenty years patient.”

For Garner, though, the last few years have been a rough ride. She’s always been a champion for her kids’ privacy, even advocating for laws to protect children from invasive paparazzi. Back in 2013, she supported a California bill imposing stricter penalties on photographers who harass celebrity kids. It’s clear she’s serious about keeping her kids out of the spotlight. But with all this media chaos, it’s no wonder the mother of three is worried. It’s a tough balance, especially with the relentless curiosity about Lopez and Affleck’s blended family.

Hopefully, things calm down soon and the kids can enjoy a bit more privacy. After all, growing up is already tricky enough—let alone trying to do it with two A-list parents and a stepmom who’s a global superstar.

  • Ben Affleck finally reunites with Jennifer Lopez to celebrate daughter with ex Jennifer Garner amid marriage strain reports

Ben Affleck finally reunites with Jennifer Lopez to celebrate daughter with ex Jennifer Garner amid marriage strain reports

Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez are out and about together once again, being snapped together in public for the first time in nearly two weeks.

The couple, who are reportedly living separately as they work on their marriage while dealing with professional commitments, were snapped in Los Angeles on their way to a family celebration.

They were seen heading to another graduation party for Ben and ex-wife Jennifer Garner’s daughter Violet, who recently graduated from high school.

The 18-year-old has already been celebrated by her mom, who shared a tearful (and viral) Instagram video marking the occasion, and has been seen in public out with her stepmom JLo as well.

Both Ben and Jennifer kept their hands hidden away to avoid sparking talk of their wedding bands after the former was seen weeks ago walking around LA without his ring.

Ben wore a gray blazer with slacks and a white button down, carrying a wicker basket with pink gift wrapping inside, presumably a big gift for Violet, while Jennifer wore a floral plunging maxi dress with oversized sunglasses.

Walking with them was the actor’s mom Anne Boldt, the doting grandmother to his three kids with his ex-wife, Violet, 15-year-old Fin, and 12-year-old Samuel.

While Ben has been busy filming in California, Jennifer has been flying around the country promoting her upcoming Netflix movie Atlas, co-starring Simu Liu and Sterling K. Brown.

In a new interview with Harper’s Bazaar, she shied away from answering any questions about their marriage or Ben specifically, but did speak more vaguely about her life at home with her children, her three step kids with Ben and her own two children, 16-year-old twins Max and Emme.

While talking about her brand of cocktails Delola, she also referenced the fact that she would be spending a good amount of time away from home in the coming months while on her world tour in support of her album This is Me…Now, dedicated to her and Ben’s enduring love story.

“I’m gonna be going on tour this summer, so for sure we’ll have Delola at the venues, and I’m just excited for more people to be exposed to it and try it,” she gushed.

  • How Jennifer Garner Really Feels About Ben Affleck & J-Lo Divorce Rumors

How Jennifer Garner Really Feels About Ben Affleck & J-Lo Divorce Rumors

Exes supporting exes. Jennifer Garner might have silently supported Ben Affleck amid his Jennifer Lopez divorce rumors. The exes have a supportive relationship after their divorce and often talk about their blended family.

Jennifer Garner reportedly visited Ben Affleck at his home in Brentwood, where he’s been staying since moving out of his shared home with Jennifer Lopez according to OK! Magazine. Garner reportedly went to the house alone without their three children after they both watched their son, Samuel’s basketball game.

According to Us Weekly, “Garner is encouraging Ben to work on his marriage to Jen,” a source said. “She fully supports their relationship and wants nothing more than for him to be happy,” adding that being in the spotlight “can put a strain” on any relationship.

Later, Garner attended the graduation of her and Afflect’s daughter Violet. “Tell me you have a graduate without telling me you have a graduate,” she wrote on an Instagram caption featuring pictures and a video of her being emotional for her oldest daughter. “bless our hearts.” In the video, the 13 Going On 30 visibly teared up on a plane as she worries about making it to her daughter’s graduation, “How are we going to make it? What are we going to do?”

InTouch Weekly first reported about the alleged breakup between Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck. “The writing is on the wall—it’s over. They’re headed for a divorce—and for once, [Ben’s] not to blame!” a source told the outlet. “He’s focusing on his work and his kids now. Ben already moved out and they’ll likely have to sell the dream house they spent two years searching for. They’ll never stop loving each other, but she can’t control him, and he can’t change her. There’s no way it could have lasted.”

Another source told Us Weekly that the two aren’t heading towards a divorce, but they are having frequent arguments. “Jen and Ben are having issues in their marriage,” the insider disclosed, adding that it started “a few months ago as Jen had started ramping up work commitments and prepping for her tour.”

The source continued, “Jen is very focused on work,” the source tells Us. “They are on two completely different pages most of the time.” Three sources confirmed to the site that they are not divorcing and are aiming to resolve their problems.

HOLLYWOOD, CALIFORNIA - FEBRUARY 13: (L-R) Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez attend the Los Angeles premiere of Amazon MGM Studios

In J.Lo’s documentary The Greatest Love Story Never Told, Affleck admitted, “Getting back together, I said, ‘Listen, one of the things I don’t want is a relationship on social media.’ Then I sort of realized it’s not a fair thing to ask. It’s sort of, like, you’re going to marry a boat captain and you go, ‘Well, I don’t want the water.’ We’re trying to learn to compromise.”

J-Lo and Ben met in 2001 on the set of their movie, Gigli, in which they played love interests. They started dating in 2002, around the time Ben also starred as the love interest in the music video for J-Lo’s song, “Jenny From the Block.”

In November 2002, Affleck proposed to J-Lo with a 6.1-carat pink diamond ring from Harry Winston, and the two got engaged. Two days before they were scheduled to tie the knot in September 2003, J-Lo and Affleck announced that they had postponed their wedding and eventually called it off. Affleck moved on with Jennifer Garner and had three children together, Violet, 18, Fin, 15, and Samuel, 12. The two separated in 2015 and had their divorce finalized in 2018.

J-Lo and Ben got engaged for a second time in April 2022 and married in July 2022 at the Little White Wedding Chapel in Las Vegas, Nevada and had a second wedding at Ben’s estate in Georgia. “We did it. Love is beautiful. Love is kind. And it turns out love is patient. Twenty years patient,” J-Lo wrote in her newsletter, On the JLo, at the time. She continued, “They were right when they said, ‘all you need is love’.”

  • Jennifer Garner & J-Lo Might Be Clashing Over Ben Affleck's Latest Habit

Jennifer Garner & J-Lo Might Be Clashing Over Ben Affleck's Latest Habit

While the Jens have been peacefully co-parenting quite some time, sources have reportedly caught wind of Jennifer Garner and Jennifer Lopez’s feud over Ben Affleck’s smoking habit. Apparently, Affleck’s wife and ex-wife can’t seem agree when it comes to his lifestyle choice.

According to an insider who spoke to OK, “J.Lo is grateful Ben is sober, and if he needs to smoke to get through the day, it’s better than falling off the wagon.” Garner, however, finds her ex’s habit “disgusting.”

The 13 Going on 30 star has reportedly established some strong boundaries — particularly when it comes to co-parenting her three children with Affleck. An inside source alleges, “She has strict rules that she expects Ben to follow, like not lighting up around the kids.”

The former couple were married in 2005 and welcomed their first daughter, Violet, that same year, followed by daughter Seraphina in 2009 and son Samuel in 2012. The Pearl Harbor co-stars announced their separation in 2015 and finalized their divorce three years later in 2018.

Since then, Garner has refrained from intervening in Affleck’s personal life—but the insider claimed that this situation is testing her. “Jen’s been very good about not poking her nose into Ben’s affairs,” the source claimed, noting that this situation “infuriates” her. “But this is putting her patience to the test.”

Meanwhile, Lopez recently expressed her trust in Affleck, describing them as “real partners” in all aspects of life. “We discuss everything with each other,” she told Extra at Elle’s Women in Hollywood event. “I want his opinion, everything, because I trust him. I know he has the best intentions, he has no kind of agenda except to see me shine as bright as I can shine, and that’s what I have for him, too, so I definitely always want his opinion.”

The couple, who originally dated from 2002 to 2004, reunited in 2021 and tied the knot a year later. During their years apart, Lopez welcomed twins Maximilian and Emme with ex-husband Marc Anthony in 2008.

Despite their differing viewpoints, Lopez has praised Garner as “an amazing co-parent,” noting that they “work really well together” in her December 2022 Vogue cover story. “The transition is a process that needs to be handled with so much care,” she said at the time. “They have so many feelings. They’re teens. But it’s going really well so far.”

“What I hope to cultivate with our family is that his kids have a new ally in me and my kids have a new ally in him, someone who really loves and cares about them but can have a different perspective and help me see things that I can’t see with my kids because I’m so emotionally tied up,” she added, referring to Affleck’s relationship with her children.

Affleck, for his part, seems to appreciates her tolerance for his quirks. “There is something innately, magically kind and good and full of love at the heart of who Jennifer is,” he told Vogue. He emphasized the enduring qualities that have kept them connected over the years, telling the magazine, “She is my idea of the kind of person I want to be.” Who knows—maybe the Hustlers star’s healthy habits will continue to rub off on him in the long run!

  • Reese Witherspoon Says She Isn’t Meant for Darker Projects as “People Like to See Me Do Light Movies”

Reese Witherspoon Says She Isn’t Meant for Darker Projects as “People Like to See Me Do Light Movies”

Reese Witherspoon and her Hello Sunshine media company hosted its inaugural Shine Away event on Saturday, featuring a number of conversations with Witherspoon’s A-list friends and collaborators.

The event, held in downtown Los Angeles, welcomed hundreds of ticketed guests to hear from participants including Jennifer Garner, Mindy Kaling, Tracee Ellis Ross, Allyson Felix, The Home Edit’s Clea Shearer and Joanna Teplin, Eve Rodsky, Hannah Bronfman, Cheryl Strayed and an afternoon performance by Dove Cameron.

Fortune Feimster kicked off the day with a short standup set, followed by Witherspoon taking the stage to discuss her journey to launching Hello Sunshine in 2016. She recalled how few women-centered stories she was seeing at the time, despite women consuming two to three times more media than men.

“After I did a whole lot of soul searching and a lot of complaining to anyone who would listen, namely my mother, I realized what so many people in this room have realized, is that if you want to fix a problem, you have to be part of the solution. I would like to also point out women are always part of the solution,” she said, noting, “We’ve had enough of people telling our stories for us. One of the biggest rules in my family is you get to tell your own news, and a version of that in Hello Sunshine terms is women get to tell their own stories.”

The star also commented on holding the event amid the ongoing Israel-Hamas conflict, saying, “I am a mom first before anything, and watching the Jewish lives that have been lost, the Palestinian lives that have been lost, it’s just devastating. And I don’t profess to be any sort of expert on war or conflict in the Middle East so I’m not going to speak about that, but I do want you to know that for my team and myself, our hearts are broken and we just want to close our eyes and just send love and light to everyone who is suffering right now in the world.”

To start off the day of programming, Witherspoon joined Garner and Kaling for a panel conversation moderated by AT&T chief marketing officer Kellyn Smith Kenny. The group was not able to specifically talk about their past projects due to the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike, but spoke about their entrepreneurial and philanthropic work outside of acting, as well as their friendship.

Witherspoon recalled reaching out to Kaling about working together after reading her book Why Not Me?, and getting close to Garner after connecting over a children’s charity.

“These two women are two of the first people that I called when I did Hello Sunshine. I was like, ‘Will you work with me, how can we work together?’ I pitched Mindy 17 podcasts that we still never did. I was like, ‘What about this one where we just a watch a rom-com and drink wine? Is that a podcast or is that like a Friday night?’” Witherspoon joked. “And of course I called Jen every time I’d read a great book like, ‘Do you want to star in this? OK, but Jen,’ I’m like, ‘I want to be protecting your time with your kids because I know you’re going through a lot right now and this is a lot so is this a good one or not?’ It was just about the excitement of being able to work with my very dearest friends, too.”

For her part, Garner remembered “going through a very public, very hard moment in my life; [Witherspoon] was right there, and the way I needed to get through it was dance cardio and I dance cardio’d so hard we broke her foot but she kept going.” Kaling recalled working with Witherspoon on a movie where she floated the idea of having children by herself as a single woman, and Witherspoon told her to do it.

“That’s a scary thing to embark on and sometimes you need that person. I think we see Reese as an entertainer, she’s obviously so funny and so talented, but as a friend, the person who can tell you tough things and you believe her because you’ve been through so much and you’re incredibly open about it,” Kaling said. Garner also spoke about Hollywood actresses uniting for meetings at Witherspoon’s house during the Time’s Up movement: “It was the first time I’d ever sat down with that many actresses in the same room that we weren’t like passing each other at an awards show in big dresses, where we just sat. We’d been siloed off; the one place that doesn’t happen, the place that started the change where that no longer can happen, is Hello Sunshine.”

Witherspoon also discussed her approach to choosing her projects, saying she came to a realization that, “I’m not meant to be doing dark, heavy, intense, horror, gore, darkness movies. People like to see me do light movies, and I was like, OK. It doesn’t put you in the cool kids club a lot but I don’t care, I don’t want to be in the cool kids club. I want to make optimistic stuff that makes girls excited to be women in this world, because it is a wonderful thing to be a woman in this world.” Kaling teased that “B.J. Novak says it’s not a Mindy Kaling show unless there’s a man running shirtless in slow motion. And you know what, I’ve been so used to the male gaze my entire life that yes, I will look at a handsome torso. And I want to provide that for you.”

Later in the program, Witherspoon sat down for a fireside chat with Ross, after the two also became close during the Time’s Up movement. Ross spoke about her decade-long journey to launch her hair product company, Pattern Beauty, and how she finds balance in her life outside of business and her acting career.

“When you are single and don’t have kids, you really have to be conscious about curating what you want around you when you want to be happy, or you’ll just stay in your house or you’ll just spend your whole time working — neither works,” Ross said. “I don’t look for balance because I think it’s impossible, but I look for harmony. So it’s a sense of how the waves move: sometimes they’re big, sometimes they’re small. Sometimes there’s more work, sometimes there’s less.”

Witherspoon admitted she’s been trying hard to find balance outside of work, explaining, “I’m a person who fills my schedule with busyness so that I feel less alone or less nervous or less unsettled, like work has always been my bomb. And I started to realize that isn’t going to work for me; about a year ago I was like, ‘I was a robot and the robot broke.’”

The star said she texted Ross at this time and realized that amid all her work and family duties, “it’s really important to remember that you have to be the glue that holds yourself together,” adding that at the time, “I didn’t feel like I was taking very good care of myself and I wasn’t asking other people for help.”

The Shine Away event was put on in partnership with AT&T and also welcomed Lindsey Vonn, Kerri Walsh Jennings, and authors Curtis Sittenfeld, Jasmine Guillory and Laura Dave.

  • Jennifer Garner Returns as the Corset-Wearing Elektra in ‘Deadpool 3’

Jennifer Garner Returns as the Corset-Wearing Elektra in ‘Deadpool 3’

Just last month, actress Jennifer Garner told Allure that she was “not comfortable ever once” in the restrictive costume she wore to play the comic book character Elektra in 2003’s Daredevil and its 2005 follow-up, Elektra. It appears, however, that Garner is prepared to grin and bear the discomfort in the upcoming Marvel movie Deadpool 3, where she’ll reprise the role.

Garner, who at 51 sports a box jump enviable for a person half her age, isn’t the only physically adroit actor expected to appear in the latest film in the Ryan Reynolds-starring franchise. As reported last fall, Hugh Jackman, now aged 54, has been preparing for the physical demands of his X-Men character Wolverine, whom he first played in 2000.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, “multiple sources” confirm that Garner will appear as the sai-wielding assassin in the latest Deadpool film, shooting for which is already underway under Disney’s Marvel Studios. (The previous Deadpool films were made by 20th Century Fox, which Disney has since acquired.)

Its director is Shawn Levy, who has some experience wrangling Garner and Reynolds as the director of the 2022 Netflix feature The Adam Project, in which she played Reynolds’s (age 46) mom. (That’s not as bad as it sounds: the sci-fi/action movie was based around a time travel plot, and Garner played the mother of Reynolds’s far younger self.)

It’s possible that this entry in the Deadpool series will look significantly different from the previous two, and not just because of its new ownership. As the Writers Guild of America strike is still underway, Reynolds—who is also credited as a writer on the film—is not allowed to improvise any dialogue for the traditionally ad-lib-heavy role of the so-called “merc with the mouth,” Collider reports, and the film must follow the script as penned prior to the strike’s beginning “to the letter.”

While Deadpool is grappling with that change, perhaps a costume revision for Garner is also in the works. Though it’s been 18 years since Garner played Elektra, she still seems to have vivid and traumatic memories about Elektra’s outfit, saying in a video released last month that she was required to wear “three different jellies” to fill out the chest area in the anti-hero’s signature red corset. “Corsets are not comfortable,” she said. “But they do look good.”

  • Nikolaj Coster-Waldau and Jennifer Garner’s First Meeting Is Further Proof That Acting Is a Weird Job

Nikolaj Coster-Waldau and Jennifer Garner’s First Meeting Is Further Proof That Acting Is a Weird Job

A Lannister always pays when he sweats!

Nikolaj Coster-Waldau visited Jimmy Fallon at Rockefeller Center in New York on Friday to schmooze a bit about his recent round-the-world travels and drum up excitement for The Last Thing He Told Me, a new series debuting on Apple TV+. The show is based on the bestselling mystery novel by Laura Dave, produced by Reese Witherspoon’s company Hello Sunshine, and has episodes directed by Olivia Newman, Daisy Von Scherler Mayer, and Deniz Gamze Ergüven

Coster-Waldau is the “he” of the title, who disappears one day, and the “me” is played by the series lead, Jennifer Garner. The Tonight Show host, remarking on the chemistry of the two in what he’d seen so far, asked if the pair had met prior to working on the show, and the Danish-born Game of Thrones star said they hadn’t. Indeed, the producers set up the first meeting for the actors with an intimacy coach present.

Working with what are essentially “sex scene choreographers” isn’t new to Coster-Waldau, but he wasn’t quite sure why this project required one, unless, as he wondered, “did they re-write the script?” Curious, he arrived at Garner’s home the next day with, as he described her, a “very sensual intimacy coach.” Next thing you know, as directed, the two performers got “really, really close” and were told to “smell each other.” (It’s a wonder she didn’t ask her to touch his heart with her foot.)

While this could have been awkward, it was lucky for the two—as they both started laughing, and realized they had a similar sense of humor. It quickly broke the ice. Elaborating a bit for Interview Magazine, Garner also said that the coach “told us to taste each other” and followed up with, “how does one do that with someone?” A very unusual way to begin a relationship, to be sure. You can see the clip from The Tonight Show below.

  • Jennifer Garner’s Kids Want You to Find Your Own Mom—This One’s Taken

Jennifer Garner’s Kids Want You to Find Your Own Mom—This One’s Taken

Jennifer Garner is many things, among them baby food innovator, actress, parent, and “bless their heart” energy expert. She’s been employing some of these facets in combination on the press tour for her upcoming Apple TV+ series The Last Thing He Told Me, a sort of Stepmom-meets-The Firm thriller based on the Laura Dave novel of the same name, premiering this week. (The baby food is quite good, but does not come into play here.)

Combining parent and actress, she told InStyle that the three kids she shares with ex-husband Ben Affleck will probably take a pass on watching the new series, as they do much of her work. She’s a nice mom, and they’d like to continue seeing her as such, evidently.

“My kids don’t love to watch me in things. They do to be supportive, but I think it’s a little weird to watch your mom kiss someone or cry,” she said. “It’s different. They don’t mind watching their dad. They don’t want to see me sad and they don’t want to see me in a romance. They don’t love seeing me play someone else’s mom, honestly. I don’t know if they’ll watch this.”

Admittedly, Affleck’s movies typically feature much less kissing and crying from dear old dad, though that likely means they skipped The Way Back. Watch mom cry? No. Watch dad pull off Argo’s plane diplomatic rescue moment? Presumably, that one doesn’t hit quite as close to home.

At an event promoting the show in New York City Wednesday night attended by Vanity Fair, Garner delivered some emergency contact realness, nodding at her real-life image as reasonable, responsible mom, a role that her character Hannah also must take on in the show.

“Hannah is, above all else, she’s asked to be the grown-up in the room,” Garner said. “And that is something that I think my life has asked of me at times, and it’s something that I know that I can deliver on.”

Another high-profile Hollywood parent is also behind the scenes of the show: Reese Witherspoon walked the red carpet at the show’s LA premiere Thursday night, her first appearance since announcing her divorce from Jim Toth, citing “irreconcilable differences.” Witherspoon is an executive producer on the series, which is under her Hello Sunshine production umbrella.

Witherspoon praised Garner’s “passion” for the project in a talk with Access Hollywood at the event.

“It was so great to hear her passion. She picked up the phone, we had long conversations about it. It was the perfect part for her,” she said. “I love that she was going to be this kick-ass woman.”

In an exclusive first look at the series in January, Garner told VF that she went on a sort of letter-writing campaign for the role after learning that Julia Roberts, who was originally cast, had to drop out of the project. She was a huge fan of the book, and was determined to nab the part.

“I felt such a connection to the character, even though I’ve been a mom for a minute, I can really understand looking at the world of teenagers and feeling like, Okay, what is the path forward? What am I supposed to do? Just feeling unsure of your place in the landscape,” she said.

  • First Look: Jennifer Garner Is Back in Action with ‘The Last Thing He Told Me’

First Look: Jennifer Garner Is Back in Action with ‘The Last Thing He Told Me’

Enter Hannah, a woodturner (yes, Garner learned to turn wood for the role, and no, she wouldn’t say she’s great at it, but she does still have “a bowl that I accidentally went too deep inside and I accidentally got rid of the bottom, so really, it’s a tube” in her house) who desperately wants to be accepted by her husband’s daughter. It’s only when the duo loses the one thing linking them that they start to bond.

“I thought it was the love story of the two of them [Hannah and Owen],” Dave says. “It wasn’t until I had my son in 2016 when I realized, Oh, this is a love story, but not the love story I thought I was telling. It’s a story of someone becoming a mom. Once I sort of tapped into that, after many, many iterations, I figured out what Hannah’s journey really was.”

Fittingly, with Garner’s screen pedigree, including the long-running spy thriller Alias and the hard-hitting Peppermint, Hannah’s journey involves high-stakes chases, shady figures, and deeply guarded secrets. Though she’s been playing in more family-friendly waters in recent years, Garner found it easy to slip back into action mode, to the point where a director would have to remind her that Hannah isn’t actually a pro at the whole espionage thing.

“He would say, Okay, she doesn’t know what she’s doing,” she says, laughingly, of reminders from the directors during action sequences. “Because I would just naturally—I can really skulk down a hallway, you know, really slip into a door. He’d be like, ‘just remember she doesn’t know what she’s doing. Right?’ ‘Right, right.’”

    By Saeed Adyani/Apple TV +.

But this found-family tale isn’t just a thriller, and it’s not only a mother-daughter story. Think of it as Stepmom meets Gone Girl, but also nothing like either of those movies, really. It’s a conundrum that catapulted the source novel to accolades and the top of the bestseller list, a story that Dave says “really lives across these genres.” She adds, “Sometimes your heart has to kind of break open for you to get to the place that you didn’t know you were meant to be, which is, I think, where this thriller ultimately goes.”

As for Garner, she just hopes to capture what got her hooked as a booklover in the first place. “As Laura Dave’s number one fan, I just want people who love the book to feel satisfied with what I’ve done—what we’ve done—and to feel compelled to keep watching in the same way that I was driven to read,” Garner says. “Chapter, after chapter, after chapter.”

  • Jennifer Lopez talks being proud to be ‘Mrs Affleck’, co-parenting with Ben’s ex Jennifer Garner

Jennifer Lopez talks being proud to be ‘Mrs Affleck’, co-parenting with Ben’s ex Jennifer Garner

Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck’s romance will go down in history as one of Hollywood’s iconic love stories and recently, the singer opened up on the details of how the couple rekindled their romance following nearly 18 years of their split in the early 2000s. Lopez and Affleck tied the knot earlier this year in Vegas followed by a lavish Georgia wedding.

In a recent interview with Vogue, JLo gave a rare insight into her relationship with her husband Ben Affleck as she detailed how the duo rekindled their romance including who made the first move. Turns out, the first step towards the duo communicating again happened after Affleck mailed Lopez following which the couple never stopped interacting and eventually began hanging out. Speaking about her bond with Ben, she told Vogue, “People in my life know that he was a very, very special person in my life. When we reconnected, those feelings for me were still very real. I don’t know that I recommend this for everybody. Sometimes you outgrow each other, or you just grow differently.”

Jennifer Lopez thinks being ‘Mrs Affleck’ is romantic

It came as a surprise to many on how Jennifer Lopez decided to change her legal name to adopt Ben’s last name and while speaking to Vogue, the singer revealed why she felt proud to be “Mrs Affleck.” She said, “People are still going to call me Jennifer Lopez. But my legal name will be Mrs Affleck because we’re joined together. We’re husband and wife. I’m proud of that. I don’t think that’s a problem.”

Adding on about why she won’t be excited for Ben to be Mr Lopez, she said, “No! It’s not traditional. It doesn’t have any romance to it. It feels like it’s a power move, you know what I mean? I’m very much in control of my own life and destiny and feel empowered as a woman and as a person. I can understand that people have their feelings about it, and that’s okay, too. But if you want to know how I feel about it, I just feel like it’s romantic. It still carries tradition and romance to me, and maybe I’m just that kind of girl.”

    Bennifer’s early relationship

When JLo and Ben dated back in the early 2000s, the duo were among the most covered celebrity couples. The singer in her recent interview admitted how the attention that their relationship received at the time changed her and made her a more guarded person. Speaking about their early romance and their mindset during the time, JLo admitted that they were young and in love and “living out loud” at the time. Lopez also added how she was more carefree about doing and saying things the way she felt at the time which changed over time.

JLo calls Ben’s ex Jennifer Garner an ‘amazing’ co-parent

Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck who both share kids with their former partners have made sure to bond as a blended family before tying the knot and in her new interview, the singer spoke about how the children have responded to their marriage and also made a rare comment about Affleck’s ex-wife Jennifer Garner. Speaking about the kind of relationship she hopes to share with the kids, Lopez said, “What I hope to cultivate with our family is that his kids have a new ally in me and my kids have a new ally in him, someone who really loves and cares about them but can have a different perspective and help me see things that I can’t see with my kids because I’m so emotionally tied up.”

Calling Affleck’s ex-wife Jennifer Garner an “amazing co-parent” Lopez added that d Affleck and he “work really well together” while managing their three kids, Violet, Seraphina and Samuel. As for Lopez herself, she shares her twins Max and Emme with her former husband Marc Anthony.

Ben’s words of praise for JLo

In the same interview, Ben also chimed in on what he loves most about his wife and gushed about how she is “innately, magically kind and good and full of love.” Revealing how incredible she is to have changed but also remained the same over the years, Ben said, “Maybe she sees all the changes she’s made, whereas when I see her, mostly I just see someone who has retained, against the odds, the thing about her that always made her the most incredible to me: a heart that seems boundless with love. She is my idea of the kind of person I want to be.”

Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck announced their marriage earlier this year as the couple had an impromptu wedding in Las Vegas and later also tied the knot in the presence of their loved ones at the actor’s Georgia estate. The couple had previously announced their engagement in April this year.

  • Jennifer Garner Pokes Fun At Her Kids With ‘Late For The Bus Mom’ Halloween Costume

Jennifer Garner Pokes Fun At Her Kids With ‘Late For The Bus Mom’ Halloween Costume

    By Mona Khalifeh, ETOnline.com.

Jennifer Garner just nailed Halloween with this epic “last minute” costume. Hopping on the Spirit Halloween costume bag trend, Garner took to Instagram where she trolled her kids with a “Late For the Bus Mom” costume, complete with all the makings for a mom just trying to get her kids to school on time.

As for what the costume comes with, Garner, who shares Violet, 16, Seraphina, 13, and Samuel, 10, with ex-husband Ben Affleck, listed a few of the essentials, including a wet hair wig, lukewarm coffee, cellphone mid-podcast and a healthy dose of will and determination. Not pictured were the children, which per the costume description, are already waiting in the car, with their lunchbox forgotten on the kitchen counter.

While the costume did not list Garner’s monogrammed robe as one of the items in the bag, it did note that undergarments are optional.

The bag featured a photo of a smiling Garner posing with coffee in one hand, and her phone in another, while sporting wet hair, a robe and some comfy slippers. She also included a solo shot of her “Late For the Bus Mom” look on a separate slide.

“If you’re looking for a last minute costume idea, I got you covered. #HappyHalloween,” Garner captioned the tongue-in-cheek pic.

Garner’s post was met with plenty of love in the comments, from fellow moms, fans and celebs alike, including interior designer Jenna Lyons, who wrote, “😂😂😂literally me except not showered.”

Hairstylist Clariss Anya Rubenstein also commented, “Omg looks so similar to late for preschool drop off mom!!” “The Office” star Angela Kinsey applauded the funny fit, along with several others, who wrote that they’ll be wearing Garner’s costume this Halloween.

The “13 Going on 30” actress has been in the spooky spirit for some time now. Earlier this month, Garner took to Instagram dressed in ghostly garb to deliver a Halloween poem.

She appeared as two different “ghostesses” in the clip, along with her dog, Birdie, who is also dressed as a ghost in a hilariously shredded pillowcase. The actress’ first look was positively witchy — a purple and black outfit with a jet black wig — and the second, a classically ghostly tattered white ensemble.

“Three little ghostesses, sitting on postesses, eating buttered toastesses. Greasing their fistesses, up to their wristesses. Oh, what beastesses to make such feastesses!” Garner playfully recited while snacking on “buttered toastesses.”

A longtime lover of the haunting holiday, Garner never misses an opportunity for a fun costume, whether it’s poking fun at her kids or herself. Back in 2019, the 50-year-old film star told ET that Halloween prep had been getting “harder” each year as her kids grow.

“I mean, I remember one year when I talked both my girls into dressing up as pigs, and they were so cute!” Garner recalled. “And now they would be like, ‘No, mom, oh my gosh, no!’”
