Jenna Bush Hager and Sheinelle Jones pick a side in Beckham family feud: ‘Not nice’

Jenna Bush Hager and her co-host, Sheinelle Jones, have weighed in on the dramatic family feud between Brooklyn Beckham and his parents, David and Victoria Beckham, which reached an explosive turning point on Monday when the 26-year-old released a statement on their rift.

Brooklyn took to Instagram to share a lengthy statement in which he claimed his parents were controlling and “consistently disrespected” his wife, Nicola Peltz.

On Tuesday’s episode of Today with Jenna & Sheinelle, the pair shared their thoughts on the drama that has captured the internet, revealing that they stood firmly with David and Victoria. “Yesterday afternoon in a six-page Instagram story post, [Brooklyn] wrote in part, ‘I do not want to reconcile with my family,’” Jenna began.

“I’m almost nice to a fault,” her co-star chimed in. “But in this case, I actually feel like it’s not nice of [Brooklyn]. I don’t know what’s happening behind the scenes.”

“I don’t care if it’s true or not. But at the end of the day, to put your parents’ laundry out there…we don’t need to know whatever’s happening.”

“You are where you are because of the work that they’ve done. Maybe I’m speaking as a mom,” Sheinelle continued, adding that Victoria was “doing the best [she] can.” Jenna agreed, explaining that she took issue with him airing out his parents’ dirty laundry online. “That’s the part that feels sort of hypocritical,” she said, adding that David and Victoria must be “heartbroken”.

“Whether it’s true or not, it’s just…do we need to know about it?” Sheinelle queried. “In the 26 years I’ve been in this business, I don’t think I’ve ever given an opinion, and this is the first time where I’m like, ‘I’m Team Mom.’ I have a soft spot for parents because it’s not easy.”

Brooklyn’s incendiary comments come almost a year after speculation of a family feud was sparked, with fans noticing his absence from family photos and events. In his statement, the eldest Beckham son cited several examples of why his relationship with David and Victoria had crumbled, including multiple incidents from his wedding to Nicola in 2022.

“I do not want to reconcile with my family. I’m not being controlled, I’m standing up for myself for the first time in my life. For my entire life, my parents have controlled narratives in the press about our family,” he wrote.

“My parents have been trying endlessly to ruin my relationship since before my wedding, and it hasn’t stopped,” he continued. “My mom cancelled making Nicola’s dress in the eleventh hour despite how excited she was to wear her design, forcing her to urgently find a new dress.”

He shared the explosive post to Instagram on Monday

He added that Victoria “hijacked” his first dance with Nicola by stepping in for the special moment, and claimed that she “danced very inappropriately on me in front of everyone”. The Beckham camp has yet to comment on the statement, which also accused them of being obsessed with their public image, yet their youngest son, Cruz, was the first to return to social media after the post.

In his Instagram stories, the 20-year-old shared some behind-the-scenes moments from a session with his band in a studio. While the clip did not contain a caption or a comment on the family feud, it marked a brush-off of Brooklyn’s statement.

Jenna Bush Hager looks phenomenal in figure-hugging dress with thigh-high slit

Jenna Bush Hager has been receiving many compliments for her style choices of late, and it’s easy to see why!

On Friday January 16, the star featured in a montage showcasing her daily outfits on Today with Jenna & Sheinelle, which consisted of short clips of her walking out of the lift in a different look from each morning of the show.

One outfit stood out in particular – a peach colored figure-hugging floor length dress, featuring a thigh-high slit and draped neckline.

The colorful design was teamed with pink stilettos. Jenna wore the dress on the show, and later as she visited former co-host Hoda Kotb at SiriusXM, along with Sheinelle Jones.

Jenna always looks fantastic on the show, and previously revealed that she is her own stylist. She told InStyle in February 2024: “It’s hilarious because sometimes people will say, ‘Fire your stylists’. I think people think because we work on television that I have a stylist and I have to say, ‘I would be firing myself.’ Or if they’re like, ‘We love your look. Can you send us where you got it from? Can you ask your stylist?’”

Jenna – a busy working mom-of-three – also confessed that her outfits are often planned “last minute” and that she is also a huge fan of Rent the Runway.

“I definitely lay out clothes that I haven’t worn or that I want to wear over the couple weeks and then I kind of play within it,” she said. “But I am not one who puts a ton of thought into it. And sometimes in fact, they’re like, ’10 minutes to air,’ and I’m still wearing my jeans and T-shirt that I came in.

“And I feel like that is reflective in my style that I want things to look effortless, because typically they are. I feel like if I want look to put together, which happens if I’m on Ellen or something like that that feels special, I’ll really think about my outfit. I’ll ask my sister for advice. I have friends that are designers and I’ll borrow things. And then sometimes I look at myself and I’m like, ‘Who is she?’ And I feel like the mornings when I have put things together quickly and feel like myself are the mornings I feel best.”

It’s been an eventful week for Jenna – who has not only had her first week with her new permanent co-host, Sheinelle – but she also revealed revealed on January 13th’s show that she will be an executive producer on the pilot Protection, which has been greenlit by NBC’s Universal Television.

Jenna will work alongside Joshua Safran, who wrote and created the show Quantico, as well as acted as an EP on the shows Gossip Girl, Smash, and the short-lived 2021 Gossip Girl reboot. “NBC called us yesterday, we’ve been working on this for a while,” she explained.

“Who knew I would do something like this, ladies and gentlemen?” She went on to explain that she show is about “different levels of law enforcement,” and is keen to pull from her own experience as the daughter of the President of the United States and being surrounded constantly by the secret service.

“Y’all know I know about that,” she joked. “It’s a mystery, and I joined all the pitches.” She noted that she found joy in seeing the “jaws drop” of the producers in the room when they heard the show’s big twist, which she immediately branded “so good!”

Jenna Bush Hager reveals ‘big fights’ with family member

Jenna Bush Hager has revealed how she struggled over tensions with her dad during her childhood, when he would try to help her with her homework. “There was a period of time when I made bad grades,” the 43-year-old-shared with co-costs during Friday’s episode of Today With Jenna & Friends. Co-host Sheinelle Jones asked her how Jenna’s parents, Former President George W. Bush and his wife Laura Bush, would “handle it”. “My dad would sit with me at that kitchen table and try to teach me math, and we’d get in big fights and I’d cry myself to sleep,” Jenna laughed.

Sheinelle added that Jenna’s situation was relatable, saying she thinks it’s typical of “kitchen tables all over this country at night.”

Despite those early struggles, Jenna graduated from the University of Texas in Austin and later became a teacher before starting her career in television.

Jenna and her husband, Henry Hager, recently returned from a summer vacation in Italy with their three children, Mila, 12, Poppy, 10, and Hal, six. The family visited Rome and toured around before coming back in time for the children to start school.

She recently spoke about having to miss their first day back at school due to work commitments, admitting to guest host Willie Geist that as a parent it’s not always possible to be there for every moment for your children.

“You know, I think sometimes, and I know you’ve felt this, as a parent, we can’t be at everything,” the mom-of-three shared. “So to miss the first day was hard, but the other thing is, kids are so resilient. Humans are so resilient.” She also shared that she was able to call them after school to check in.

“I called and I’m like, ‘Hey, how was the first day?’ And Hal was like, ‘It was so different than pre-K. Kindergarten is so much harder,’” she said. “And then I talked to Mila, and she was like, ‘I already have homework! Seventh grade is so hard!’ And I’m like, ‘Oh, these kids are alright.’”

Jenna also shared a photo of her three kids ahead of their school day, holding handmade flags detailing which year group they were entering into. “I made them hold those signs,” she said. “Kinder, seventh grade and fourth grade, which I can’t believe. But they had such a good day!”

Nikki Glaser Calls BS On Tom Brady’s Latest Roast Reaction – Thinks He Knew ‘Exactly What He’s Getting Into’! – Perez Hilton

Nikki Glaser isn’t buying that Tom Brady had no idea he’d face backlash from his family over the roast!

Netflix debuted The Greatest Roast of All Time: Tom Brady earlier this month. The no-holds-barred special featured some pretty brutal material about the former football player’s divorce from Gisele Bündchen — and even a few jabs about her romance with Joaquim Valente! Unsurprisingly, those jokes didn’t land too well with a few people, especially his ex-wife and kids! Gisele was upset about the whole ordeal. And Tom now says he regrets doing the roast since it “affected” the supermodel and their children! He said on The Pivot Podcast this week:

“I loved when the jokes were about me. I thought they were so fun. I didn’t like the way that it affected my kids. So, it’s the hardest part about the bittersweet aspect of when you do something that you think is one way and then all of a sudden you realize I wouldn’t do that again because of the way it affected the people that I care about the most.”

Seriously? Tom should have known his failed marriage with Gisele would be the main event at the roast! It’s one of the biggest stories in his life! He had to have known their divorce would come up and considered at some point that his ex-wife and kids wouldn’t be too happy with jokes! So this reaction from Brady is hard to believe! Even Nikki Glaser — who participated in the comedy event — doesn’t buy it!

The 39-year-old comedian appeared on Today with Hoda & Jenna Wednesday to discuss the former Tampa Bay Buccaneers player’s regret for agreeing to the roast due to the family backlash. And she has THOUGHTS! On one hand, Nikki said she feels Tom maybe “didn’t consider the backlash from his family and how it would affect them.” But on the other hand, she knows someone as famous as Tom Brady “does not do anything without doing his research and knowing exactly what he’s getting into!” Nikki explained:

“I think it’s kind of a thing you say after the fact, but it’s impossible to me he didn’t consider what could have happened. Because there is roast footage out there that you can watch and go, ‘They’re gonna go this hard.’”

It’s true! This isn’t a new idea, there are tons of celeb roasts out there, and they always hit everyone where it hurts.

However, she also has another theory! Part of her believes “no one’s ever said a bad thing to him in the past 30 years” due to his fame — and maybe that made him delusional enough not to think anyone would go as far as to mock his split from Gisele! Makes sense. But again, nothing tends to be off-limits with a roast — other than his kids. He should’ve known better! When Jenna Bush Hager asked if Nikki could tell Tom was “regretting” the special while it was happening, she replied:

“I got a sense that maybe it was a little more than he had planned for. He hadn’t planned how to react, because you’ve kind of got to practice like, ‘What am I gonna do?’ and I think by midway through he had decided on the laughter he was gonna do.”

At that same time, Nikki feels Tom was “kind of jarred” by everyone going there with the jokes:

“The thing is, when they are producing these, they can’t take Tom in and go, ‘Hey, can we do jokes about this?’ because it would be too awkward to ask someone. So it’s kind of all just like, ‘We think we can go there, we think maybe don’t go here,’ so we all agreed not to talk about the kids but there wasn’t any specific guidelines of what to say and not to say.”

If Tom truly didn’t know what he was getting into at the time, that is kind of on him! And he won’t make the mistake of agreeing to another roast again! Not unless he wants to face the wrath of Gisele! Watch Nikki’s chat with Jenna and Hoda Kotb (below):

During Wednesday’s edition of “Today with Hoda & Jenna”, co-host Hoda Kotb revealed she once received a handwritten note containing a shocking message.

“I’ll never forget this,” Kotb said.

Jenna Bush Hager Sends Her Love To Hoda Kotb As ‘Today’ Co-Host Deals With ‘Family Health Matter’

Viewers of NBC’s “Today” have noticed the absence of Hoda Kotb for the last week-plus, with the longtime anchor’s last live appearance on the show occurring on Monday, Feb. 17 (she did appear in the Feb. 20 episode, but in a pre-taped segment).

During Wednesday’s episode, co-host Jenna Bush Hager sent a sweet shoutout to Kotb, revealing that she’s been off dealing with a personal issue.

“Willie [Geist] is in for Hoda,” Bush Hager told viewers during the 10 a.m. hour of “Today”, reported People.

“And we just want to let you all know that we heard you, and Hoda is okay,” she continued. “She’s just got a family health matter that she’s been dealing with.”

“Can’t wait to see her back here,” Geist chimed in. “We love you very much, Hoda.”
