After a little over two years of marriage, Jeezy and Jeannie Mae are headed to splitsville.
The Atlanta rap icon filed for divorce from the former daytime talk show host on Thursday. The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported Friday that legal documents were filed in Fulton County Superior Court by Jeezy — born Jay Wayne Jenkins. The estranged couple were reportedly separated before the filing and have a prenuptial agreement in place.
Jeezy, 45, is seeking joint legal custody of their daughter, Monaco, whose birth was announced Jan. 11.

A post on the rapper’s Instagram yesterday seems to allude to the split, with the caption, “Too focused on who I’m becoming to focus on who’s not coming with me.” Many commenters clocked that he could be talking about his soon-to-be-ex.
The couple began dating in 2019 and married in March of 2021 in Atlanta at their home during the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown.
