    Millie Bobby Brown and Jake Bongiovi‘s baby news may have shocked the world, but his rockstar dad, Jon Bon Jovi, had a different reaction.

    Brown, 21, and Bongiovi, 23, announced they had welcomed their first child together in a joint Instagram post on August 21, 2025. “This summer we welcomed our sweet baby girl through adoption. We are beyond excited to embark on this beautiful next chapter of parenthood in both peace and privacy,” the post read. “And then there were 3.”

    After the announcement, a source told Star magazine that Bon Jovi—who shares his son with his wife Dorothea Hurley—that the singer was in “heaven” over the baby news. “Jon has always been a hands-on dad so it’s no surprise that he’s completely embracing this new grandpa role,” the insider said. “He and Dorthea are both in heaven. They love babies.”

    The insider revealed that Brown and Bongiovi are currently “holed up in East Hampton” with his family, “bonding and soaking up this very special time” with their newborn. The source also added that Bon Jovi can’t help but “brag to everyone about what natural parents Jake and Millie are.”

    “He’s so proud of them and says he’s blown away by how mature they both are,” the insider continued. “Having a baby around again is bringing so much joy. They’re in this beautiful bubble right now.”

    The source also revealed that Brown and Bongiovi don’t “plan to stop at just one” child. “They want at least four kids, but it won’t surprise anyone if they have more because they’re both so family-focused,” the insider said. “They’re young but they’re both way more mature than the average 20-something, so this just feels right for them.”

    Brown and Bongiovi married in May 2024 after three years of dating. In an interview on the “Smartless” podcast in 2025, Brown revealed that she always wanted to be a young mom because of the age her parents were when they had her. “My mom actually had her first child at 21, and my dad was 19,” she said. “You know, it’s been my thing since before I met Jake.”

    Along with Jake, Bon Jovi also shares three other kids with Dorothea: sons Romeo and Jesse and daughter Stephanie.

Jake kept it casual in a black T-shirt, khaki pants, and a baseball cap while pushing the stroller. Millie even carried a phone case monogrammed “RWB,” possibly hinting at the baby’s initials.

    Here’s the Instagram statement that revealed their new parenthood: “This summer, we welcomed our sweet baby girl through adoption.     Why adoption was important to them

    Millie has long shared her dream of becoming a mother at a young age; her own parents had her and her siblings early in life: “My mom actually had her first child at 21, and my dad was 19. This has been my thing since before I met Jake,” she said on the Smartless podcast.

    She added, “I wanted to be a mom just like the way my mom was to me.” Jake supported that vision, and Millie stated: “For me, I don’t see having your own child as really any different as adopting.… The energy in our house is the door is always open.” Jon Bon Jovi, Jake’s father, is officially a first-time grandparent. He has voiced his support, saying that age doesn’t matter as long as the partners grow together.

    Millie and Jake were first linked in 2021, got engaged in April 2023, and tied the knot in a private ceremony in May 2024, followed by a lavish celebration in Italy months later.

    LOS ANGELES (AP) — Millie Bobby Brown and Jake Bongiovi adopted a daughter, the first child for the married couple, this summer, they announced Thursday.

    “We are beyond excited to embark on this beautiful next chapter of parenthood in both peace and privacy,” the couple wrote in a social media statement. No further details were released.

    Brown, 21, and Bongiovi, 23, were married in a private ceremony in May 2024. Representatives for Brown and Bongiovi did not immediately respond to The Associated Press’ request for comment.

    Brown gained recognition for her starring role as Eleven in the Duffer brothers’ sci-fi series “Stranger Things.” The fifth and final season will air this November and December, a culmination of nine years of the show’s production. The British actor has pursued other acting and business ventures in that time, including the Netflix original “Enola Holmes” films and a “Godzilla” film. She even released a romance book in 2023.

    Bongiovi is the son of Jon Bon Jovi, founder and frontman of the rock band Bon Jovi. Bongiovi debuted his own acting career as the star in “Rockbottom,” which released last year.

    Brown stressed the importance of family during the 2024 premiere of her Netflix film “Damsel,” where Bongiovi and his parents were in attendance.

    “I’m just so lucky that they’re here tonight and it just means so much to me,” Brown told The Associated Press then. “Family is everything and just to have my second family here means everything.”

    The couple lives in Georgia. She recently told the AP she enjoys living on a farm, largely disconnected from social media, while promoting her 2025 Netflix film “The Electric State.”

    It’s official – “Stranger Things” star Millie Bobby Brown and Jake Bongiovi have tied the knot. Bongiovi’s father, rocker Jon Bon Jovi, confirmed the two wed last weekend in an interview with CBS News partner BBC. 

    Rumors have been swirling in recent days that Brown and Bongiovi had officially married, and when Bon Jovi went onto the BBC’s The One Show on Tuesday, he shed some light on the situation. 

    “They’re great, they’re absolutely fantastic,” the “Livin’ On a Prayer” singer said. “It was a very small family wedding and the bride looked gorgeous and Jake is as happy as can be. And yeah, it’s true.” 

    Brown, 20, and Bongiovi, 22, were engaged last year and have been together since 2021. The couple has yet to confirm the wedding themselves. 

    A source told the tabloid The Sun that parents for both of the newlyweds were in attendance and that they are planning to have a bigger ceremony later in the year. Photos obtained by People Magazine show the couple out shopping in the Hamptons on May 24, seemingly with wedding bands on. Brown had previously said that she wouldn’t want a highly-publicized ceremony. 

    “There are only so many moments in life that you get only once,” she told WWD last August. “And to have everyone’s opinions and eyes looking at that just feels unnatural to me.”

    Millie Bobby Brown‘s on-screen ‘Papa,’ actor Matthew Modine, said he will officiate the star’s wedding to her fiancé Jake Bongiovi.

    Modine, who plays antagonist Dr. Martin Brenner in the Netflix hit Stranger Things, told Access Daily he’s already written wedding vows for the ceremony.

    “I have one of those licenses to get people married, and Millie thought it’d be great, and then Jake said it would be a great idea,” the 65-year-old actor explained.

    Modine said the Brown, 20, and Bongiovi, 21, “loved” the vows he created.

    He told Access Daily hosts Kit Hoover and Mario Lopez that he’s officiated one other wedding before this.

    “It’s such a beautiful thing to be able to join two people in holy matrimony,” Modine gushed.

    “I’ve been married 44 years. It’s amazing when it works.”

    Modine is married to Caridad Rivera, a makeup and wardrobe stylist. They have two children.

    Brown and Bongiovi, who is the son of Jon Bon Jovi, first teased news of their engagement in April 2023. Brown uploaded a photo of the two actors embracing on the beach while she wore a diamond ring on her fourth finger.

    “I’ve loved you three summers now, honey, I want ’em all,” she captioned the post, a reference to the Taylor Swift song Lover. 

    The engaged couple first began dating in 2021.

    The date of their pending nuptials has not been made public.

    In February, Brown recounted the proposal in an interview with Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show. 

    Brown said Bongiovi proposed while the pair were on vacation. Since the couple love diving, and obtained their diving licences together, Brown said her fiancé popped the question while underwater.

    On the special day, Bongiovi informed an unsuspecting Brown that they were scheduled for an 8 a.m. dive.

    While “many metres” underwater, Brown said Bongiovi handed her a shell that had a ring hidden underneath. Unable to speak in the water, the couple bubbled and signed at one another before Bongiovi put the ring on Brown’s finger.

    “He puts the ring on my hand, and as I go to show him, the ring falls off my finger,” Brown recalled. “It plummets so fast; it was like a cinematic movie.”

    Bongiovi dove for the ring, Brown said, and saved it.

    When they surfaced, Bongiovi formally asked Brown to marry him.

    Brown skyrocketed to international fame as a child after starring as Eleven in Stranger Things. The smash hit TV series will return one last time for its upcoming fifth season.

    Bongiovi, also an actor, is set to star in Rockbottom, an upcoming comedy about a rock ‘n’ roll ’80s hair metal band called CougarSnake.

    While this look can be classified as off-duty, Brown definitely plays to a theme when she needs to, slipping into a gemstone-embellished red Western outfit replete with cowboy boots for the Osaka Comic Con in Japan on May 5.

    Brown, 19, seemingly announced her engagement to Bongiovi, 20, in an Instagram post on Tuesday.

    In the black and white photo, the two actors are seen embracing on the beach. Brown, whose hands are visible, wears a diamond ring on her fourth finger.
