Bella Hadid Wore the Anti-Jeans Trend That's Perfect for Long-Haul Flights

    [ad_1]

Stop what you’re doing and pay attention, because #BellaIsBack, and it’s nothing to take lightly. Any loyal Bella Hadid fan will tell you that the supermodel has been steering clear of the public eye for quite some time now, so spotting her in New York City outside of her sister Gigi’s NoHo apartment on Wednesday is kind of a big deal. No, actually, it’s a huge deal. And her impeccable—seriously, no notes—outfit for the occasion only emphasized the moment’s importance.

For the rare sighting, Hadid chose a very ’90s, model-off-duty type of ensemble, opting for a trench coat, black turtleneck, and stretchy, black flared leggings (or, as I like to refer to them, yoga pants). Accessorizing like a pro as always, she added a checker-print tote-style shoulder bag, F/W 99 Prada boots, and DMY by DMY wire-rim sunglasses. The look appeared effortless and therefore is bound to be copied all across TikTok. But honestly, it wasn’t her outfit as a whole that struck me when I first saw photos of it, but just her pants, which I couldn’t help but notice would be utterly perfect for flying

  • Ed McVey Is Entering His Leading Man Era

Ed McVey Is Entering His Leading Man Era

    [ad_1]

Welcome to Portrait Session, an intimate photo series and interview featuring some of our favorite people of the moment.

After six seasons, The Crown is taking its final bow this month. Following the life of Queen Elizabeth II from her wedding in 1947 up until 2005, the award-winning Netflix historical drama has consistently given us spectacular performances from industry greats such as Olivia Coleman, Matt Smith, and Helena Bonham Carter, to name just a few, while also skyrocketing the careers of some noteworthy new faces (Claire Foy and Emma Corrin, anyone?). With part two of season six hitting the streamer today, we predict that kind of star-making power will unfold once again as the story focuses on the early courtship of Prince William and Kate Middleton at St. Andrews. Since season six casting news broke back in fall of 2022, fans have been eager to see newcomers Ed McVey and Meg Bellamy’s portrayal of the infamous royal couple. Plucked from obscurity, the actors stand to have a major breakout moment following their screen debut. So if they weren’t already on your radar, they should be now.

The first time I met McVey was during our photo shoot for this story at the Four Seasons Hotel in Beverly Hills. He was delightfully charming, cracking jokes in between poses for the camera. Clearly poised for a bright future. Our second meeting took place a few weeks later, albeit virtually. In that time, the actor’s schedule was jam-packed with premieres, junkets, and press appearances galore, but he didn’t appear phased. Part one of the final season came out in November, but since he’s not in those first episodes, he likens the experience to being on a roller coaster that is slowly making its way up the hill. The anticipation of what’s on the other side is there, but the rush hasn’t fully hit yet. McVey expects that will come later, after part two drops. “I’m sure when it does go out, it will be nuts, and I won’t be prepared for anything,” he said.

The 6 Pieces You Need to Get Jane Birkin's Iconic Style

    [ad_1]

We’d be hard-pressed to find a style icon whose influence has made quite as long-lasting an impact on us as Jane Birkin’s. There’s no denying that the fashion world was pulling major inspiration from the English-French actress’s plethora of perfectly retro 1970s looks. The singer and model, whose effortless waves and fringey bangs are as classic as the outfits she wore, continues to provide the ultimate easygoing yet sultry style. Whether she was wearing jeans and a T-shirt or a satiny number, Birkin always had a certain effortless vibe about her. So much so that there are a number of clothing items that have become synonymous with her. Birkin-inspired pieces like breezy off-the-shoulder tops, classic-cut jeans that will never go out of style, and, of course, the omnipresent basket bag that still remains so relevant. Although the je ne sais quoi of French-girl fashion often eludes us, today we’re making it easier than ever to emulate the style of one of France’s most well-known style stars.

Keep scrolling to see (and shop) the six pieces you need to get Jane Birkin style.

Amal Clooney Just Wore the Unexpected Color Trend That'll Be Huge in 2024

    [ad_1]

After a spectacular appearance at the Fashion Awards in London earlier this month, Amal Clooney is painting the town red again—er, rather, painting the town yellow! Attending the Los Angeles red carpet premiere of husband George Clooney’s upcoming film The Boys in the Boat, which he directed and produced, Amal wore an electric-yellow Atelier Versace gown.

If the runways are any indication, highlighter yellow is set to be a major color trend next year. Below, I included spring 2024 examples from Sergio Hudson, 3.1 Phillip Lim, and Ralph Lauren as proof. Scroll down to see how Amal Clooney wore the trend and shop similarly hued pieces for yourself.

  • If You Trust Anne Hathaway and Sydney Sweeney, Buy This Anti-Skinny Pants Trend

If You Trust Anne Hathaway and Sydney Sweeney, Buy This Anti-Skinny Pants Trend

    [ad_1]

In all honesty, I’ve been anticipating a shift of the pendulum away from baggy pants and jeans lately. It’s been the reigning pant trend for quite some time now, and a shift seems inevitable, but Anne Hathaway and Sydney Sweeney just pretty much solidified that the time has not come for baggy pants to fall from favor. In fact, their chosen pants proved quite the opposite.

Both actresses have been in NYC promoting their latest projects this week and both were photographed wearing very wide-leg pants. The word “baggy” doesn’t even do these pants justice. Hathaway wore a pair of white wide-leg pants with a purple cardigan while Sweeney wore ultra-wide-leg jeans with a black vest and floor-length coat. The shoes they wore hardly matter because you can barely see them…

One theory I have is that pants will get as big as possible before we revert back to skinny pants. Or big pants might be here to stay. Time will tell. In the meantime, keep scrolling to shop ultra-wide-leg pants for yourself.

  • Anne Hathaway Just Wore the Pant Trend That's Eclipsing Skinny Jeans

Anne Hathaway Just Wore the Pant Trend That's Eclipsing Skinny Jeans

    [ad_1]

Prepare to say so-long to your skinny jeans, because Anne Hathaway’s chic tapered cargo pants are about to take over. The actress was spotted wearing in New York City wearing a bright white Des Phemmes suit, complete with sparkly embellishments, Bulgari jewelry, and matching silver Jimmy Choo pumps. We’ve got to admit it’s one of our favorite celeb looks of the season thus far.

Cargo pants have made a comeback lately, but these aren’t the same baggy styles from the early aughts. Hathaway’s chic pants combine multiple pockets with a slim, tapered leg, allowing for a more flexible silhouette. Go big and blousy on top, or pair the pants with a cropped jacket or tank; it’s all about playing with proportions until you get a look that’s just right.

Ahead, shop 10 pairs of white cargo pants in an array of fits, materials, and price points. Keep it chic and simple, or bring on the bold sunglasses and bling. The accessorizing is totally up to you.

Emma Stone Just Wore the Color Trend That Makes Camel Look Even More Expensive

    [ad_1]

One of the most highly anticipated films of the season, Poor Things, opened this week with Emma Stone at its helm. We actually don’t get to see Emma Stone‘s outfits on a regular basis, so it’s always a treat when she’s promoting something. Stone has been out and about in NYC as of late, wearing a plethora of cool, trend-forward looks. One of those looks provided a styling tip that I recommend taking with you this season.

For a screening of Poor Things earlier this week, Stone wore a camel-colored Kenzo jacket and miniskirt with suede knee boots in a similar hue and a tan Louis Vuitton bag. Camel has long held the distinction of being the most expensive-looking color, but there’s another expensive-looking color trend in town: chocolate brown. Because two expensive-looking colors are better than one, Stone topped her camel outfit off with a toggle-button chocolate-brown coat. One look at this combination has motivated me to wear it ASAP, so in that spirit, scroll to shop an assortment of affordable camel and chocolate-brown pieces to mix and match.

What's on Our Shelves: The 18 Fashion Books You'll Want to Read Immediately

    [ad_1]

A quick scroll through Instagram might inform you of the most up-to-date trends and brands to put on your radar, but the best way to dive deeper into fashion’s rich history is to pick up a book on the subject. While many fashion books feature beautiful imagery, they will also transport you to the worlds of your favorite designers, aid your personal style journey, and tap into the small pocket of the industry you enjoy the most. (If you have a niche, there’s probably a book about it.) This year, we saw a lot of industry-related releases, such as Sunita Kumar Nair‘s homage to the classic style of Carolyn Bessette Kennedy and Glossy, which reads like a true crime and explains the inner workings of the beauty business and rise of Emily Weiss’s Glossier.

The offering can be a tad overwhelming, so to make it a little easier, we’ve selected the best books that not only have been published more recently but also are crucial to a deeper understanding of fashion (and beauty) right now. As the holidays approach, one of the books below would make a great gift for the fashion and beauty lover on your list. (And they won’t be collecting dust on a coffee table or bookshelf.)

  • The Under-$300 Cardigan I Bought to Mimic the Vibe of Khaite's $1900 One

The Under-$300 Cardigan I Bought to Mimic the Vibe of Khaite's $1900 One

    [ad_1]

Fashion people know where they were on October 6, 2019, when Katie Holmes went viral for her cardigan-and-cashmere-bra combination. The outfit—especially the sweater—is still imprinted into my memory to this day. The cardigan in question was, of course, Khaite. While it sold out not long after Holmes wore it, the brand has since maintained the style as a signature and keeps bringing it back in new colors. In the four years since that viral moment, the Scarlet Cardigan has hardly wavered from my wish list. The only issue is that my bank account has yet to catch up with my taste.

Where there’s a will, there’s a way, and I finally found a cardigan that’s just as gorgeous while also being delightfully within my shopping budget. It only took several years, but it’s well worth the wait. Meet the V Neck Cardigan from Korean label Almina Concept, a weighty knit with a beautiful hourglass shape and bell sleeves that mimics the vibe of the Khaite one but for the price of what you’d pay in taxes for it instead. The merino wool is the main difference compared to Khaite’s cashmere fabrication, but all in all, it’s a solid alternative.

After a huge surge in popularity this fall that made the cardigan sell out, the brand has just restocked it in all three colors, and I thought I’d make sure you were the first to know. Ahead, see the Khaite cardigan in question compared to the Almina Concept alt, and further down, shop even more luxurious-looking knits.

Hailey Bieber Already Wore the 2024 Trend We're Putting Big Money On

    [ad_1]

Anyone who’s visited Hailey Bieber’s Instagram feed during Halloween knows that the model and entrepreneur loves a good holiday, especially when it means dressing to a theme. And now that we’ve entered into December territory, it appears that her outfits have switched over to another holiday. “Christmas glitter,” she captioned an IG slideshow on Sunday, showcasing one of the chicest festive looks of the year thus far.

To celebrate the holiday season’s arrival, Bieber chose a long-sleeved minidress made of bone-colored satin from Khaite, which was paired with matching sparkly tights, a Prada top-handle bag, Balenciaga pumps, and a black velvet hair bow from Emi Jay. But while her accessories certainly finished off the look, her dress was no doubt the star of the show, especially given how on-trend satin is at the moment. After a buzzy showing on the spring/summer 2024 runways at Tory Burch, Altuzarra, Carven, Louis Vuitton, and more, the luxurious material was destined to become a major deal in the year ahead. Now that Bieber’s gone and stamped it with a Rhode Raspberry Jelly Peptide Lip Tinted kiss, any last doubts there were about the trend’s popularity in 2024 were squashed for good.

Below, check out Bieber’s on-trend holiday ‘fit and shop the fabric everyone will be talking about and wearing post NYE.

The Top 10 Sofia Richie Outfits of 2023

    [ad_1]

Without a doubt, 2023 has been Sofia Richie’s year. Sure, she’s been in the spotlight for years, but ever since her wedding to Elliot Grainge in April, which took social media by storm, she—and her impeccable sense of style—have been the talk of the fashion world. In fact, we were lucky enough to have her as our Who What Wear cover star in August.

Richie’s elegant and timeless yet trend-forward aesthetic has had a major influence over what people wear since she rose to It-girl status in the spring, and that’s showing no signs of changing. From her Chanel-clad wedding to her off-duty looks consisting of Khaite and The Row (and more Chanel), Richie delivers one chic outfit after another. So needless to say, it was a challenge to narrow it down to her ten best outfits of the year, but narrow it down I did.

Scroll on to find out what I think are Richie’s top ten looks of the year (so far) and shop pieces inspired by her luxuriously cool style. (For the record, I didn’t include her wedding-day outfits in this ranking, as they kind of have an unfair advantage.)

It was here that Bell’s stars began to align.

Recognizing her gift for translating the language of the stars into relatable and meaningful insights, Bell decided to share her astrological knowledge with a wider audience by offering free readings on her social media platforms, which quickly gained popularity. Victoria Beckham Just Launched 3 New Fragrances, and Yes, They're Extremely Posh

    [ad_1]

Fragrance notes: Black cherry, red peppercorn, rose, midnight violet, and tobacco leaves.

This one was inspired by another trip the Beckhams took. This time, it was in 2004. David Beckham surprised Victoria with a vow renewal and a second honeymoon in Paris. They stayed in Suite 302 at a “storied hotel.” As such, it’s reminiscent of glamour and luxury, taking inspiration from fine wine, cosmetics, leather goods, and expensive cologne.

To me, this smells like a classic, designer fragrance—albeit a fruit-forward one thanks to the top note of black cherry. The following rose and violet notes add a touch of sweet florals, and the tobacco leaves add a subtle smokey quality. It’s a rich and strong scent, and while I like it, I think I’d be hard-pressed to find an event to wear it to, as I tend to choose warmer, subtler scents instead.

From Taylor Swift to Laura Harrier, the Under-$150 Buys Celebs Are All Wearing

    [ad_1]

When celebrities choose to wear an affordable item, we tend to take notice. Seeing as Hollywood has access to the very best in everything (the best facialists, manicurists, and of course, stylists), it should come as no surprise that the wardrobe’s of the A-list would be equally as exclusive. And for the most part, they are. Celebs make headlines for wearing the latest designer It bag and those designers also clamor to have famous faces wear their collections. In other words, most celebs have their pick of luxury labels, but they love an affordable fashion find just like us because, well, sometimes the cheaper option really is the best.

Recently we’ve noticed some of the best-dressed stars in wallet-friendly pieces, so we figured it was worth sharing. From the $10 tights Taylor Swift wore all over NYC to the sneakers Jennifer Lawrence just stepped out in that could be the next It pair, these are the under-$150 items celebrities are prioritizing right now.

That’s when she compiles outfits that are at once relatable, cool, and on-trend. Naturally, her most recent looks are no exception.

Hailey Bieber Wore the Knee-Boot Trend That's Replaced Basic Block Heel Ones

While some shoe trends are major and in a category all their own (Mary Janes, for example), others are more subtle and specific. The ones I’m here to discuss today fall into the latter category. For quite some time now, most of the heeled knee boots you’d encounter featured a block heel and a round or square too, but Hailey Bieber just confirmed that there’s a new knee boot trend circulating, and it’s far fancier.

While out and about in L.A. one night this week, Bieber wore a sweater as a dress with a pair of pointed-toe stiletto-heel knee boots. While their more casual block-heel counterparts aren’t “out”, per se, the style that Bieber wore feels fresher right now. I’m spoiled for choice when it comes to Taylor Swift lyrics I can reference here. Should I go with “I can still make the whole place shimmer”? Tonight, Swift made a surprise appearance at the London premiere of Beyoncé‘s new Renaissance film, and I can’t stop thinking about her excellent dress.
