  • Princess Kate Wore Skinny Jeans and $65 Sneakers for Her 2022 Christmas Card

Princess Kate Wore Skinny Jeans and $65 Sneakers for Her 2022 Christmas Card

    [ad_1]

For their first Christmas card as the Prince and Princess of Wales, William and Kate decided to keep things low-key in coordinating denim looks. The family of five looks positively adorable in casual outfits, including all three kids in shorts. For the photo, Kate Middleton wore an Mih shirt, skinny jeans, and her favorite Superga Cotu Classic Sneakers ($65).

The Princess of Wales recently wore a priceless emerald necklace from Queen Mary’s collection on the red carpet, so this laid-back look is certainly a 180-degree change. But that’s what she’s always done best: She can pull off the glamorous, tiara-wearing royalty look just as easily as she can pull off soccer-mom vibes. Scroll down to see the royal family’s 2022 Christmas card and shop Middleton’s sneakers.

  • I Just Scored the Perfect $60 Alt For Khaite’s Hyper-Chic $1600 Slouchy Bag

I Just Scored the Perfect $60 Alt For Khaite’s Hyper-Chic $1600 Slouchy Bag

    [ad_1]

I’ve never been a huge handbag person, often preferring to instead indulge in fancy shoes, outerwear, and dresses (but mostly shoes). So, when a bag does come around that really and truly catches my eye, it’s kind of a big deal. Such was exactly the case when I first spotted Khaite’s Olivia bag, a super-slouchy, circular handbag that comes in leather, suede, and most chic of all, patent. Carried by celebs like Elsa Hosk and Lily Aldridge, the purse is one of today’s most-wanted, only making me want it more.

There’s just one catch. With it’s awe-worthy aesthetic comes a hefty price tag—a $1,600 one, specifically. And between holiday-gift shopping and my own Black Friday–induced spending, my 2022 budget is pretty much closed for business. What is within my limit, however, is the $60 Mango alt I discovered on my last scroll through the affordable brand’s accessories department. And when a find this good comes along, it’d be wrong of me not to share it.

Keep scrolling to shop the $60 slouchy bag from Mango that I’m buying to get the Khaite look this season for less.

  • Katie Holmes Wore a Controversial Y2K Dress-and-Jeans Look on the Red Carpet

Katie Holmes Wore a Controversial Y2K Dress-and-Jeans Look on the Red Carpet

    [ad_1]

I don’t know if Katie Holmes planned to make headlines after her red carpet appearance this week, but make headlines she did. She looked beautiful for her appearance at iHeartRadio Z100’s Jingle Ball at Madison Square Garden, and she was also wearing an outfit that was straight out of her early-2000s playbook.

Back in the early 2000s, Holmes was constantly busy with appearances, as one is when they’re the star of a hit TV show (Dawson’s Creek, of course). The outfit she wore to Jingle Ball took a page right out of her Joey Potter era, and I have the photos to prove it.

For the very recent occasion, Holmes wore a TOVE strapless number that was technically a top but could pass as a mini dress (especially on someone on the shorter side). While she may have been party-ready on the top, she was errand-ready on the bottom, opting for baggy jeans and black sneakers. But somehow, she made it work and looked every bit as cool as she always does.

Just for fun, I went back into the Getty Images archives and found a couple of instances back in the early 2000s in which she wore similar tops with jeans on the red carpet. So I think it’s safe to say that Joey Potter-era Holmes would approve. Scroll to see the past and present looks and shop similar dress-tops to pair with jeans.

  • Kylie Jenner Re-Created Her Sister’s Iconic Bikini-and–Fur-Boots Look in Aspen

Kylie Jenner Re-Created Her Sister’s Iconic Bikini-and–Fur-Boots Look in Aspen

    [ad_1]

The Jenner sisters are back to their usual Aspen antics it seems. Less than a year after Kendall Jenner broke the internet when she posed in the snow in nothing but a black string bikini and Miu Miu’s F/W 21 faux fur boots while vacationing in Aspen, her little sister debuted an almost identical look in the same ski town, where the duo is currently vacationing (and having plenty of fun, as documented on Kendall’s TikTok).

Over the weekend, Kylie Jenner posted a slideshow of photos of herself posing in a vinyl bikini by Good American, sporty sunglasses, and sand-colored Loewe fur snow boots, with nothing but a white bathrobe to stay warm in Aspen’s snowy climate. And while she didn’t get quite as familiar with the outdoor elements as Kendall did 11 months prior, preferring to capture the look indoors, Kylie’s bikini-and-boots outfit was equally shocking (in the best way).

Scroll down to see how the two looks compare and shop our favorite snow boots of the season.

  • Hailey Bieber and Taylor Russell Wore the Jacket Trend Every Fashion Girl Wants

Hailey Bieber and Taylor Russell Wore the Jacket Trend Every Fashion Girl Wants

    [ad_1]

When it comes to fashion in 2022, there’s one thing that I am absolutely certain about: If both Taylor Russell and Hailey Bieber wear the same article of clothing, it’s going viral. There are no ifs, ands, or buts about it—simply put, their combined influence is too substantial for something they mutually agree on to not make it big. Right now, the item the two of them can’t get enough of is Loewe’s puffer bomber jacket.

The bubble-like bomber was first seen on the runway at the Spanish fashion brand’s F/W 22 show in green and black leather. The latter colorway has since been spotted on the Bones and All actress and Loewe ambassador on multiple occasions—first at a screening for the film put on by the brand’s creative director, Jonathan Anderson, and again in a viral TikTok. More recently, the nylon option was seen on Bieber, paired with baggy black jeans and her go-to Bottega Veneta Jodie bag, for a date with Justin Bieber.

There’s just one catch. With a price tag that bottoms at $2990 and tops at $7750, Loewe’s sought-after puffer isn’t exactly budget friendly. Luckily, if you’re not ready to indulge in Russell’s and Bieber’s exact jackets, there are plenty of equally covetable bomber jackets on the market right now to shop instead. See my favorites below.

Sadie Sink Wore the 2023 Shoe Trend With a Cult Following in Hollywood

    [ad_1]

Is Sadie Sink growing up too quickly, or is that just because we’re so used to seeing her in ’80s outfits on Stranger Things? Either way, Sink is certainly trending upwards with the premiere of her new movie, The Wale, and the gorgeous Giuseppe Zanotti platform pumps she wore for an evening out in Los Angeles.

The 20-year-old actress is just the latest star to sport the rising shoe trend that’s taking over Hollywood: the platform Mary-Jane. The retro style with a twist has been making appearances everywhere from red carpets to music videos, and we are 100% here for it. Sink smartly styled the shoes with Calzedonia 100 Denier Total Comfort Soft Touch Tights ($18).

Take a closer look at Sink’s shoe below, then scroll for several options at a variety of price points. We pulled only black versions to go with Sink’s outfit pictured below, but if you’re into more vibrant colors, then don’t worry: the platform heels come in almost every shade imaginable.

  • Pauline Chalamet on Wisdom, Wit, and Wardrobe Changes

Pauline Chalamet on Wisdom, Wit, and Wardrobe Changes

    [ad_1]

Before I ask Chalamet for her insight on all things Parisienne chic (her father is French, and she grew up speaking the language), we start with the basics and head back to school with Kimberly and the rest of the Essex crew. Season two of College Girls, which premiered on HBO in mid-November, wastes no time rehashing the messiness of freshman year with the story picking up shortly after season one’s finale. Though, returning to picturesque upstate New York from her small hometown in Arizona may have been less jarring for Chalamet’s character than it was for the actress herself. With a full calendar year passing between the premieres of seasons one and two, plus nearly as much time between filming, Chalamet was concerned about reentering Kimberly’s very particular and well-developed headspace after so much time away. Unlike her character’s continued woes about finances, frat bros, and the female reproductive system, the season premiere makes it clear that Chalamet hasn’t missed a beat. Kimberly is back and, if I may say so, even better than last season.

“When we started filming again, I had a moment of panic where I was like, ‘I did this. … What if I can’t redo it?’” confessed Chalamet. “I never thought I would do comedy. But it’s about timing. Timing is so important, and I was like, ‘What if I don’t have the timing? What if I can’t hear it anymore?’” Once Chalamet was on set, however, the lovably naïve Kimberly quickly reappeared thanks in part to a relatable character arc that takes place over season two’s 10 episodes. Chalamet was particularly proud of the narrative that creators Mindy Kaling and Justin Nobel wrote for Kimberly about finding the means to pay her tuition. “When you’re 18 years old and you decide to get money, you find a way to get money. She finds a solution that leaves the door open, but the consequences may come back later on in your life,” she says. Needless to say, there’s ample humor injected into an otherwise nerve-racking predicament, which provides several opportunities for Chalamet to shine.

Meghan Markle’s Off-the-Shoulder Gown Inspired My Newest Reformation Purchase

    [ad_1]

No one has as stronger a hold on our collective purchasing decisions than Meghan Markle. And with her Netflix documentary with Prince Harry just one day away from its release date and plenty of events on the calendar, we’re about to enter a period of Markle-inspired spending—guaranteed. Just take her latest look, for example, which she wore to the 2022 Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights Ripple of Hope Gala held in New York City.

For the glamorous event, which saw the couple take home an award for their work pertaining to racial justice and mental health with the Archewell Foundation, Markle chose a stark white, long-sleeve dress by Louis Vuitton, which featured a high slit and an off-the-shoulder neckline. Custom made by the brand’s womenswear designer Nicolas Ghesquière, it was a clear symbol of hope, the perfect message to send at the evening’s occasion. With her dress, she added Princess Diana’s aquamarine ring that she wore on her wedding day, Cartier Love bracelets, and a Givenchy clutch.

After seeing the look, one dress immediately came to mind: Reformation’s new Maves dress, a similarly off-the-shoulder style with long sleeves and a mini hemline. Equally gorgeous with a much smaller price tag—it rings up to just under $300—the dress is a perfect alt for Markle’s custom Louis Vuitton pick. Shop it and more off-the-shoulder options below.

Hailey Bieber Wore the 2023 Micro-Trend That’s Already Going Viral

    [ad_1]

Leave it to Hailey Bieber to test-drive the budding next-season trend that our editors can’t stop talking about. The model and entrepreneur is regularly ahead of the trend curve, especially since her partnership with Saint Laurent allows her to be one of the first to pluck looks from the most recent runway. And that’s exactly what Bieber did recently while attending an event for Tiffany & Co. in Miami during Art Basel. She stepped out in a Saint Laurent minidress that featured a floral appliqué detail, which hits on a rising “pretty” trend we’ve already covered: rosettes.

We spotted these 3D floral details across the spring/summer 2023 collections in varying iterations, like the floral-adorned bags at Prada, the organza chokers at Mirror Palais, and, of course, the rose-embellished dresses at Saint Laurent. We’ve even started to spot a number of rosette moments on Instagram, but until this Bieber ensemble, we had yet to see celebrities interpret the look.

Kendall Jenner Wore the Pants Trend That Looks So Chic With Point-Toe Boots

    [ad_1]

As of late, practically every time we’ve spotted Kendall Jenner, she’s been wearing super-sharp, point-toe boots or heels. As such, the ‘90s silhouette has hit its stride in 2022, quickly becoming one of the year’s most sought-after styles following a long period of round- and square-toe supremacy. There’s only one problem. After spending so much time away from our wardrobes, we’re all a bit rusty on what to actually wear with all our new pointy footwear. That’s where Jenner comes in.

From pairing the style with tights and underwear (no pants in sight) to combining them with leather trenches, the supermodel’s street style has become a how-to of sorts, demonstrating every cool way to wear point-toe shoes. And her latest look is no exception. Spotted leaving a late-night dinner at Giorgio Baldi in Santa Monica, Jenner wore an all-pistachio outfit, including a deep-V sweater, matching suede pants, and her regular point-toe boots. Particularly note-worthy were her bottoms, the shape of which appears to be the perfect match for her go-to shoes. Low-rise with a bootcut shape, they fall perfectly over the toe of her shoes, highlighting the shoe trend everyone either wants to be or is wearing right now. Shop every pointy shoe’s perfect match below.

Anna Wintour Just Broke Her Own Fashion Rule at the White House State Dinner

    [ad_1]

Political events in D.C. don’t usually draw a crowd of well-dressed celebrities, but tonight certainly seemed to be the exception. The White House hosted a state dinner in honor of French President Emmanuel Macron’s official visit and it proved to be the ultimate convergence of Hollywood and the Hill.

Anna Wintour wore a vintage Chanel look from 1983, which came complete with built-in necklaces, belts, and bracelets. Interestingly, Wintour seems to have broken her own fashion rule. Amy Odell was quick to reference Wintour’s interview from 2019 in which she had some choice words about everyone’s favorite color: “Don’t wear all black,” Wintour had said. “It seems too gloomy as if one’s going to a funeral.” While the embellishments on the black gown certainly livened things up, it’s highly unusual to see Wintour in anything but colorful prints, so this was a rare sighting indeed. While the average fashion consumer may have very little in common with the celebs who provide endless style inspiration, we can agree on one thing: affordable jewelry is a fun way to accessorize. Take actress and former Who What Wear cover star Lucy Boynton, who was spotted wearing a lacey black dress by ShuShu Tong and several pieces of gold jewelry at a screening of The Pale Blue Eyes in London. One ring caught our eye—the enamel coated heart with blue sapphires worn on Boynton’s middle finger—and we were delighted to discover that it is made by the direct-to-consumer jewelry brand, Mejuri.

Known for its delicate fine and semi-fine pieces, Mejuri offers gold and gold vermeil jewelry that the wearer is encouraged to purchase as a gift to themselves. • The Hidden Symbolism Behind Meghan Markle’s Unexpected Color Combo

The Hidden Symbolism Behind Meghan Markle’s Unexpected Color Combo

    [ad_1]

To quote Taylor Swift, what if I told you none of it was accidental? Meghan Markle’s most recent outfit may seem unexpected at first, but there’s actually a hidden meaning behind the color combination she chose to wear. Listen, I don’t blame you if you were too focused on Meghan Markle’s empowering discussion to notice the color of her shoes, but you know we’re all about style and substance here at Who What Wear, so you can bet I’ll be talking about both.

Markle attended a fundraiser for the Women’s Fund of Central Indiana, which runs programs for women on intimate violence prevention, executive leadership, mental health, and more. For the event, the Duchess of Sussex wore a green Giorgio Armani dress with purple Manolo Blahnik shoes.

As Page Six smartly pointed out, green and purple, along with white, are actually the official colors of International Women’s Day. The organization explained the significance on its website: “Purple signifies justice and dignity. Green symbolizes hope. The colors originated from the Women’s Social and Political Union (WSPU) in the UK in 1908.” So there you have it: It was all by design because she’s a mastermind. Okay, I’ll stop with the Taylor Swift references now. Scroll down to see Meghan Markle’s outfit and shop similar pieces.

I Just Found the Perfect $80 Alt for Ashley Olsen’s Gorgeous $3000 Handbag

    [ad_1]

Ashley Olsen could wear anything, and I’d think it was chic, and for good reason. It usually is. One half of the design duo behind The Row, Olsen is a walking ad campaign for the brand that everyone in fashion—no matter their personal style or taste—adores. So of course, when she steps out for even the most mundane of errands, her look inspires.

This time around, she was spotted checking off to-dos in NYC in a black tailored maxi coat, puddle pants, and a colorful scarf, but it was her bag—a $3000+ rectangular shoulder bag from The Row—that reeled me in. Simple, black, and bowler-like, the bag in question is utterly timeless and selling out like crazy. As much as I’d love to be one of those people snatching up the last few available styles, though, Olsen’s bag is just slightly (read significantly) out of my budget at the moment. Luckily, after a great deal of scrolling through Amazon, I discovered an alternative that called out to me just as much, and it’s $80.
