6 Anti-Trend Staples Jennifer Lawrence Will Never Ditch

    [ad_1]

We report the latest celebrity-style moments daily here at Who What Wear, and Jennifer Lawrence is often the subject of our attention. There are celebrities that resort to the avant-garde even in everyday wear and there is Lawrence, whose simple and minimal style feels cool and extremely wearable. Whether it’s a classic black dress at a red carpet event or a t-shirt and jeans look out for a stroll in LA or NYC, I often catch myself looking at her outfits and thinking “Wow, I could and should recreate that.” If there’s anything we learned from the rise of minimalism these past few years, it’s that simple and stylish can certainly go hand in hand.

After studying a variety of her looks, I was able to pinpoint six simple pieces that JLaw relies on time and time again. And while she frequently wears high-end brands like The Row, I was able to find her most-worn staples at a much more budget-friendly price point. Takes notes from the actress and shop her look below.

This New H&M Dress Is Giving Me Unmistakable Sofia Richie Vibes

    [ad_1]

Sofia Richie Grainge is in her It-girl era. In recent weeks I haven’t been able to escape her content—not that I’m mad about it. TikTok users were quick to compare her nuptials to a royal wedding as they fawned over every detail of her pre- and post-ceremony outfits. Oh, and don’t even get me started on her impeccable honeymoon looks

Richie’s recent outfits have been burned into my brain, so I immediately thought of her when I saw this new H&M dress. H&M’s Glittery Pointelle-Knit Dress ($75) reminds me of the Khaite Cedar Dress ($2400) she wore in the South of France. Her Instagram post garnered over 240,000 likes and hundreds of comments, so it’s safe to say her fans loved the dress. Scroll down to shop H&M’s version.

The front row at last night’s Chanel Cruise 2024 show was like a who’s who in Hollywood. Celebrity guests included house ambassadors such as Margot Robbie and Kristen Stewart, who were both fresh off their Chanel-clad Met Gala appearances. Other stylish stars on hand included Iris Apatow, Sofia Richie, Paris Hilton, Kris Jenner, Rashida Jones, and Tracee Ellis Ross.

Everyone had their own vibe going: Robbie went for a ’70s-inspired look in extra-wide flared jeans, while newlywed Richie opted for a polished white jacket with pale pink feathers. (Cue the “quiet luxury” references.) Of course, there were also plenty of tweed moments courtesy of Stewart, Jenner, and others. • Kaia Gerber Wore the Next It Sneakers in the Most Parisian Way

Kaia Gerber Wore the Next It Sneakers in the Most Parisian Way

    [ad_1]

Well, this was inevitable. The next big It sneakers, that is. The immense popularity of Adidas Samba sneakers has undoubtedly paved the way for another pair of retro soccer-style sneakers, and these are from a veteran brand that’s experienced a resurgence as of late: Asics. But first, a little bit of history.

Japanese sports brand Onitsuka Tiger was founded long ago in 1949 and merged with ASICS in 1977. The sneaker style that it’s most known for is the Mexico 66, which was released in 1966, two years before the Olympic Games in Mexico City. The sneakers, which retail for around $100 (just like Sambas), used to be readily available on sites like Shopbop, but now, good luck finding them in your size… TikTok mentions of Onitsuka Tiger seemingly increase by the second. The yellow-and-black pair, in particular, has become especially hard to get your hands on.

So why am I telling you this now? As you may have guessed, Kaia Gerber just wore the shoes, further solidifying them as the next It sneakers. She styled the hard-to-find yellow pair just like a chic Parisian would: with an oversize trench coat and black trousers. Of course, I immediately went down an Onitsuka Tiger rabbit hole, and you get to benefit from the fruits of my labor. Scroll to see how Gerber and other fashion people are styling them and shop all of the (mostly) in-stock pairs I could find.

  • These $20 H&M Sandals Are Giving Too Strong of Khaite Vibes to Not Sell Out

These $20 H&M Sandals Are Giving Too Strong of Khaite Vibes to Not Sell Out

    [ad_1]

I’ve long been adamant about my love for heels of all kinds and my general avoidance of flats whenever possible. So, you can imagine my surprise when I stumbled upon a $20 pair of utterly heel-less strappy sandals on H&M’s website that I not only wanted but literally had to have. Minimal in shape but loud in terms of their print—the sandals are snakeskin, a trend I’ve already coined *the* animal print of 2023—the cost-effective sandals were shockingly alluring to a heel lover like me.

Naturally, I did further research in order to try and zero in on what exactly about H&M’s newest sandals caught my eye, only to remember that Khaite—one of the fashion set’s most desired labels, not to mention a personal favorite of mine—made a similar pair for spring. Though the H&M pair doesn’t feature quite as many luxurious details as the Khaite ones do, they do cost more than $700 less whilst still giving off the same overall aesthetic, so my interest in them shouldn’t be all that startling.

I’d be willing to bet that I’m not the only anti-flats fashion person with a soft spot for these H&M sandals, meaning that the likelihood of them staying in stock is next to none. Shop them while you still can below.

Kate Middleton Just Wore Trendy Cargo Skinny Jeans With the Prettiest Top

    [ad_1]

After the busy Coronation weekend, it was right back to work for members of the royal family, but with a far more casual affair for Kate Middleton and Prince William. They attended the Big Help Out (a day when people in the UK are encouraged to volunteer) with their three children in tow. And Middleton’s wardrobe for the occasion was quite the departure from her ornate wardrobe over the weekend.

For the outdoor event, Middleton wore two of her favorite casual-attire items: skinny jeans and Blundstone Chelsea boots. But the jeans weren’t her typical plain black skinny jeans. She opted for a cargo pair, which she wore with a pretty chambray denim blouse.

Cargo everything is trending right now, so it was fun to see Middleton in a pair that suited her aesthetic. There are cargo-jean options to suit every preference, so scroll on to find your pair (including the exact G-Star Raw ones that Middleton wore).

Irina Shayk Wore a Sheer Maxi Dress With Bikini Bottoms to the Miami Grand Prix

    [ad_1]

Every year, more and more celebrities seem to flock to Formula One races, with the Miami Grand Prix, which took place this weekend, being among the most popular of the entire season. Over the three-day event, the likes of A$AP Rocky, Madelyn Cline, Roger Federer, and Emily Ratajkowski all made their way to the Miami International Autodrome in their best race-day attire, but the celeb with the most interesting and unexpected take on F1 style was, without a shadow of a doubt, Irina Shayk

On Sunday, Shayk posted a photo dump for her 21.8 million Instagram followers with the caption “F1” followed by a black heart emoji. In it, the supermodel can be seen roaming the F1 paddock alongside former Burberry creative director Riccardo Tisci and model Stella Maxwell wearing the opposite of proper racing attire. By that, I mean she chose to layer a completely sheer tank dress on top of a cropped, white tee and bikini bottoms, finishing off the ensemble with Nike tube socks and point-toe sling-backs. (Practical.) For some much-needed sun protection, she added a black baseball cap and a chic pair of oval sunglasses.

Shayk’s outfit—which prioritized style over utility in almost ever way—only goes to show that the relationship between fashion and F1 is growing at a pace only comparable to the actual cars on track. Scroll down for photographic proof. And while you’re at it, shop the sheer-dress trend before the next race in two weeks time.

  • Meet The Founder Of Beloved Cupcake Brand Baked By Melissa: Melissa Ben-Ishay

Meet The Founder Of Beloved Cupcake Brand Baked By Melissa: Melissa Ben-Ishay

    [ad_1]

Over a decade ago, bespoke mini cupcakes in an innovative range of flavors quickly became the latest dessert craze in Manhattan. The cupcakes transcended beyond the dessert, infiltrating the beauty and fashion industries as the go-to gift or event delectables, and everyone knew what Baked by Melissa was. At the helm of the namesake dessert brand is Melissa Ben-Ishay. In 2008, Ben-Ishay began selling cupcakes out of her New York City apartment and hand-delivering them throughout the city, and by 2009 Baked by Melissa opened the doors to its very first retail location, a small pickup window in SoHo. Today, she has grown the business into a certified sensation with fourteen retail locations in New York, one in Boston, and a massive e-commerce platform shipping treats nationwide for every gifting occasion. Impressively, Ben-Ishay has sold over 250 million bite-sized cupcakes to date.

And while Ben-Ishay is known for redefining desserts, in 2021, she actually went viral on TikTok for her Green Goddess Salad, sharing her philosophy that if you get your nourishment from mealtime, you can enjoy dessert every day. Ben-Ishay’s viral moment catapulted her into a new rise to fame as a content creator on social media, where she shares everyday meals that empower her viewers in the kitchen.

Yet back before she was leading a multimillion-dollar company and navigating her new norm in the social media spotlight, she worked in advertising as an assistant media buyer. In fact, this job ultimately led her to start baking out of her apartment as she was unexpectedly fired from the position.

Listen to the latest episode of Second Life to hear how Ben-Ishay’s career is truly the epitome of the common phrase, “when one door closes, another one opens.” And, keep scrolling to shop some of our favorite Baked by Melissa treats.

From the striking cobalt Self-Portrait dress she wore to welcome world leaders to a pre-coronation reception held at Buckingham Palace to her stunning ivory Alexander McQueen gown and ceremonial robe she wore to the coronation itself, Kate Middleton’s ensembles have been worthy of the history books they’ll no doubt grace the pages of. The Quiet-Luxury Colour So Many Coronation Guests Wore—Including Pippa Middleton

    [ad_1]

When it comes to colors, some just look more expensive than others. It’s a fact. With the quiet-luxury aesthetic still commanding much of fashion right now, it should come as no surprise that the looks we saw at today’s coronation reflected that in some way.

We couldn’t help but notice that many of the guests in attendance opted for perhaps the color most synonymous with the notion of quiet luxury; butter yellow. This is a hue we’ve already highlighted in our autumn/winter 2023 trend report, which outlines the key looks for the season ahead. As featured in the collections of Givenchy, Tove, Molly Goddard, Christopher Kane, and countless more, this pretty hue is set to be big news in the months to come.

What’s special about this shade is the fact that it suits a multitude of skin tones and hair colors, with its delicate tone loaning itself to so many outfit pairings. At the coronation, we saw it by way of elegant dresses, styled with matching hats and fascinators. However, there are an endless array of options on how you can wear it day-to-day, too. For now, see how guests styled it on the day.

Unsurprisingly, we’ve never found the need to add a ‘What to Wear to a Coronation’ into our outfit guides, but if we had, these guest looks would certainly feature. As a day that will be immortalised through pictures forever, considering what to wear is just as monumental as attending itself. For attendees, colour was served up abound. From bold shades to pastel hues, the most fashionable attendees truly brought the rainbow to a grey overcast day.

Today the world’s gaze turns to London for the coronation of King Charles III and, whether you’re a royalist or not, May 6th 2023 will be a noteworthy date for the history books. It makes sense, then, that those in attendance would want to show up in serious style, what with all the photo documentation there will be of the event. Catherine, Princess of Wales? She’s no exception.

Last night Princess Kate, along with other senior members of the royal family, hosted a gathering for all of the world leaders who have flown in to attend the coronation, and if her outfit—a cobalt blue Self-Portrait dress with an elegant draped neckline—was anything to go by, we knew we’d be in for a treat. Naturally, Kate looked radiant as she stepped out of her car and onto the cobbles outside Westminster Abbey earlier today.

Sofia Richie’s Stylist Told Me the 8 Best Summer Buys to Invest In

    [ad_1]

Sofia Richie Grainge’s wedding at Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc in the South of France took the internet by storm several weeks ago, with many dubbing it this year’s “royal wedding.” From three Chanel looks custom designed for Richie’s wedding weekend to the designer-infused outfits she wore leading up to her big day, Richie’s style was particularly eye-catching. The stylist behind Richie’s new fashion aestheticLiat Baruch.

“A couple of years ago, when Sofia had initially approached me, she had a very pointed conversation with me about where she wanted to go style-wise—how she wanted to present herself, how she wanted to dress,” Baruch says of how her partnership with Richie began. “Words like elevated, timeless, and longevity are what we were focusing on. It aligned with me and what I do as a service, but it also aligned with me personally because of how I dress.”

Baruch emphasizes it’s her and Richie’s shared aesthetics and fashion references that make their collaboration so successful. “I’ve always liked a classic, more timeless sense of style,” she says. “I dress trendy also sometimes, but it’s never been what I start with.” Instead, Baruch says she approaches curating closets by starting with core pieces you never need to get rid of. “You do that by buying quality pieces,” she adds. “I mean that. There’s no way around it.” This isn’t to say that purchasing high-quality fashion items necessarily requires a big budget. “You can buy things secondhand that are not worn and well-priced,” Baruch recommends as a strategy to add well-made items into your wardrobe at lower price points.

Curious to learn what her top summer shopping staples would be, I asked Baruch to share the exact pieces she’d recommend to clients. Shop the eight items that made the cut below.

If you’re a fan of jeans but not a fan of sky-high heels, you’ve clicked on the right story. Hailey Bieber just wore a low-key outfit you’ll love—I know I did, and I identify as a jeans fan who likes low heels. While out and about in Los Angeles earlier this week, Bieber wore a cropped white T-shirt, mid-rise jeans, and a classic belt. She paired her simple outfit with one of the chicest and most elegant shoe trends around: kitten-heel mules.

While kitten-heel mules have been a thing for years, they’re as relevant and trendy as ever. Bieber opted for a square-toe croc-embossed pair by Jil Sander she’ll surely get years of wear from. The 2-inch heels are the perfect complement to her ankle-length straight-leg jeans. I don’t know about you, but I’m inspired to order a fresh pair of kitten-heel mules for myself. The Best Outfit to Wear With Sneakers, According to French It-Girl Tina Kunakey

    [ad_1]

About three years ago, I published a story about the affordable items I repurchase again and again. At the very top of my list? A pair of Superga 2750 Cotu Sneakers ($69). So when I checked my inbox and saw an offer to interview French model and actress Tina Kunakey, Superga’s newest ambassador, I jumped at the chance.

Given her impeccable style, I wanted to ask Kunakey where she gets her fashion inspiration from. “My mood really inspires me, and also the place where I am,” she says. “I don’t really get my inspiration from Instagram or runway shows. I love going to shows, but at the end of the day, it’s a show. For example, I’m not really into wearing head-to-toe runway looks because I won’t be able to wear them in real life. I try to personalize them in my own way so they fit me better.”

I also asked Kunakey what her favorite outfit to wear with sneakers is, and her answer was supremely relatable. “I would say a tank top, denim shorts, and the Superga 2750 Cotu sneakers.” Sounds like my ideal outfit, too. Keep scrolling for pieces you can use to re-create it.

This $65 H&M Dress Is a Dead Ringer for Meghan Markle’s Sold-Out Version

    [ad_1]

Whether you’re in the public eye or not, there’s something to be said for having a recognizable signature style. Whether your style is broadly defined as classic, sporty, or bohemian, or super specific combinations like ankle-length dresses with boots or high-waist jeans with boxy tees, there’s a lot of value in knowing what makes you look and feel your best.

Long before she was one of the most recognizable faces around the world, Meghan Markle honed her personal style, focusing on modern interpretations of traditional silhouettes. And, while her wardrobe ranges from casual to custom, there is a particular style that stands out as quintessentially Meg: the trench coat dress.

The duchess has worn several trench-inspired dresses, but the public first took notice of them when she stepped out in a sleeveless midi-length design by House of Nonie in 2018. In subsequent years, Markle has been photographed wearing this style of dress from brands as accessible as Banana Republic to designer labels like Wales Bonner, which she chose to wear for baby Archie’s debut.

While Banana Republic’s version is currently sold out, this classic design can be found at an array of retailers and price points. As springtime and sunshine call for shorter hemlines and lightweight fabrics, we’re excited to step into H&M’s linen version of the sleeveless belted style. But, if that’s not the right fit, there are plenty of affordable trench-inspired dresses to try on at Zara, Mango, and even Uniqlo, not to mention a few pricer designer versions.

  • Amal Clooney Wore Classic Sneakers With the Perfect Casual Spring Dress

Amal Clooney Wore Classic Sneakers With the Perfect Casual Spring Dress

    [ad_1]

While Amal Clooney is a workwear fashion icon, her off-duty style is just as noteworthy—and quite different from her usual business attire, I might add. She appears to love fashion and has fun with it, often wearing items that are quite trendy. While getting coffee in L.A. earlier this week, Clooney embraced the “quiet luxury” look.

Clooney re-wore a knit Stella McCartney dress in step with this spring’s “in” aesthetic. Knit dresses are ideal for spring when the weather is not quite cold but not exactly hot since they’re comfortable, versatile, and provide a bit of warmth. Clooney was previously spotted in this particular dress at the airport, where she paired it with a controversial pair of boots.

This time, however, she opted for classic white Adidas Stan Smith sneakers, proving that two timeless and versatile items are better than one. Read on to shop Clooney’s chic spring outfit combination.
