    As part of its national Education Initiative on Vaccine Safety, Physicians for Informed Consent (PIC) has delivered its landmark book, “Vaccines and the Diseases They Target: An Analysis of Vaccine Safety and Epidemiology” (the Silver Booklet), to every member of Congress, as well as President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance. The book equips lawmakers with scientific and statistical data showing that, for normal-risk U.S. children,vaccines have not been proven safer than the diseases they intend to prevent.

    The education campaign, which aims to elevate children’s health, underscores PIC’s mission to safeguard informed consent in vaccination and end mandatory vaccination laws. In a letter that accompanied the book, PIC states:

    “From an ethical standpoint, any medical mandate must, at the very least, be shown to deliver more benefit than harm. As you work to improve children’s health in the face of rising chronic illness, we respectfully urge you to review the evidence we present, which indicates that current vaccine mandates are not scientifically substantiated and may, in fact, pose greater risks than the diseases they target. In the meantime, we ask that federal funding be withheld from states that do not safeguard religious or philosophical exemptions to vaccine mandates for school attendance.”

    In August, PIC sent an urgent letter to HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., requesting an immediate review of childhood vaccine policies and a reconsideration based on risk-benefit analysis.

  • Record French fines for Google and Shein over cookies

    France’s data protection authority on Wednesday issued record fines against search giant Google and fast-fashion platform Shein for failing to respect the law on internet cookies.

    The two groups, each with tens of millions of users in France, received two of the heaviest penalties ever imposed by the CNIL watchdog: 150 million euros ($175 million) for Shein and 325 million euros for Google.

    Both firms failed to secure users’ free and informed consent before setting advertising cookies on their browsers, the authority found in a decision the companies can still appeal.

    Cookies are small files saved to browsers by websites that can collect data about users’ online activity, making them essential to online advertising and the business models of many large platforms.

    The CNIL has stepped up its scrutiny of their use, part of “a general strategy of bringing (market players) into line over the past five years, targeting especially sites and services that receive a lot of traffic,” the authority said.

    Shein had amassed “massive” amounts of data from the cookies it placed on 12 million monthly users’ computers in France, it added.

    The Asian low-cost clothing firm failed to secure users’ consent or inform them adequately, as well as offering inadequate options to withdraw consent.

    Shein has updated its systems to comply with the CNIL’s requirements under French and European law since the investigation.

    It told AFP that it would appeal the fine, which it said was “totally disproportionate given the nature of the alleged grievances” and its “current compliance” with the legislation.

    Google said it would study the decision, and that it has complied with earlier CNIL demands.

    – ‘Cookie wall’ –

    Wednesday’s fine against Google is the third issued by the CNIL over the search giant’s use of cookies, after paying 100 million euros in 2020 and 150 million in 2021.

    Prosecutors had requested an even heavier penalty this time, of 520 million euros.

    Authorities have justified the size of the punishments with reference to the sheer number of Google users in France and the broad array of “negligence” the CNIL says it is guilty of.

    They especially highlight the case of a so-called “cookie wall” when creating a Google account, which requires users to accept the tracking software before proceeding.

    While not in itself illegal, the implications were not sufficiently explained to users, who could therefore not provide informed consent, the CNIL found.

    Some 53 million French people were also affected by Google’s practice of inserting adverts between inbox items in its popular Gmail email service.

    Such “direct canvassing” of users requires prior consent by users under European legal precedent, which Google did not secure according to the CNIL.

    On top of the fines, Google has been ordered to bring its systems into compliance within six months.

    Failure to comply would draw further penalties of 100,000 euros per day for both Google and its Irish subsidiary.

    Physicians for Informed Consent (PIC) has released an update to its educational document “COVID-19 Vaccine Mandates: 21 Scientific Facts That Challenge the Assumptions.” Developed from data compiled by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, U.S. Food and Drug Administration, National Library of Medicine, and other established sources, the PIC document covers issues of critical importance to both the medical community and the public. Reflecting key scientific research, the document refutes the basis for COVID-19 vaccine mandates. For example, according to Physicians for Informed Consent, studies (referenced here) show: 

    • COVID-19 vaccines may increase the risk of hospitalizations in vaccinated people.

    A study published in Vaccine found that the number of serious adverse events in people vaccinated with the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine is higher than the number of COVID-19 hospitalizations prevented. For every two COVID-19 hospitalizations prevented in vaccinated people, there are 10 COVID-19 vaccine serious adverse events.

    • COVID-19 vaccines increase the risk of myocarditis in young men.

    A study published in Pharmacoepidemiology and Drug Safety shows that in males aged 18 to 24 years, the risk of myocarditis is 1 in 1,862 after the second dose of a COVID-19 mRNA vaccine.

    • COVID-19 vaccines increase the risk of cardiac-related deaths in men.

    A study by the Florida Department of Health found there is a 97% increased risk of cardiac-related deaths in males aged 18-39 within 28 days of being vaccinated with a COVID-19 vaccine.

    • COVID-19 vaccines increase the length of menstrual cycles in women.

    A study published in BMJ found that in women, vaccination with two doses within the same menstrual cycle leads to a 3.7-day increase in that cycle’s length. The consequences of this phenomenon are not known.

    It can take months or even years for new data to reach the general medical community. As such, some healthcare providers may be unaware of COVID-19 vaccine facts and figures. In providing this document, PIC highlights important statistics to help medical professionals and their patients more easily assess the risks of the vaccine compared to the risks of COVID-19. In addition, as a nonprofit organization with headquarters in California — where AB 2098, a doctor-censorship bill, was recently signed into law — PIC asserts that it is now more important than ever for the general public to be able to access science-based COVID-19 analyses.
