  • Judge tells Cuomo to stop using taxpayer money to ‘resurrect his public image’ in legal case

On Tuesday, a judge rejected former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s attempt to prolong a taxpayer-funded legal battle with a woman who accused him of sexual assault, saying the New York City mayoral candidate was trying to litigate in an effort to repair his tarnished reputation.

“Cuomo has not advanced any viable argument for why the taxpayers of this state should continue to foot the bill for his continued use of civil litigation discovery devices to further his efforts to resurrect his public image,” state Supreme Court Justice Denise Hartman wrote in a decision posted online Monday.

Hartman’s decision came a month after the state agreed to pay $450,000 to settle a lawsuit brought by Brittany Commisso, an ex-aide who said he sexually harassed and groped her while he was in office.

An investigation by New York Attorney General Letitia James determined that the Democrat had sexually harassed at least 11 women.

Cuomo resigned in disgrace because of the allegations.

Cuomo, a Democrat, asked the judge not to discontinue the lawsuit without releasing text messages he said refute her allegations, Cuomo spokesman Rich Azzopardi told Fox News Digital. In her ruling, Hartman allowed Commisso to drop the lawsuit and denied Cuomo’s motion on the texts.

“Brittany Commisso’s allegations are false and for four years she hid her contemporaneous text messages that obliterated her claims,” Azzopardi said in a statement to Fox News Digital. “She is desperate to keep the texts from public scrutiny, which is why she suddenly settled her case for a fraction of her initial multimillion dollar demand soon after she was forced to produce them in her meritless lawsuit.”

“Governor Cuomo will continue to fight for the release of all the evidence because it shows he didn’t sexually harass anyone and further discredits the AG’s political report. Release the evidence and let the public decide,” he added.

Commisso previously testified that Cuomo grabbed her buttocks while they took a selfie in the executive mansion in 2019 and that in 2020 he reached under her blouse and grabbed her breast. She revealed her identity for the first time in a joint interview with “CBS This Morning” and the Albany Times Union, just days after she became the first of Cuomo’s accusers to file a criminal complaint against him.

American Idol” music executive Robin Kaye and her husband Thomas DeLuca’s official causes of death have been released.

Kaye, 70, and DeLuca, 70, each died from multiple gunshot wounds, according to the County of Los Angeles Medical Examiner’s office.

The manner of death was listed as homicide for the couple, Fox News Digital can confirm. The autopsy reports have not been released.

DeLuca died seconds after being shot around 4:45 p.m. on July 10, according to the death certificates, which were obtained by People. Kaye died minutes after the suspect shot her.

Kaye and DeLuca were found dead inside their home on July 14 when the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) conducted a welfare check.

A friend of the couple had contacted authorities after not hearing from Kaye or DeLuca for days. The police were given access to get inside the gate by the friend, and they found signs of trouble outside. Officers broke a window to enter, and they discovered the couple shot to death.

Kaye and her husband narrowly missed a police presence outside their home on the day they were shot and killed by an intruder – the couple returned home about 25 minutes after police left their house following a neighbor’s call about someone scaling the fence.

After Kaye and DeLuca returned home, a second 911 call came through to the LAPD. The caller could be heard saying “someone broke into my office,” and “don’t shoot me,” NBC4 Los Angeles reported.

According to detectives, GPS coordinates placed the caller inside Kaye and DeLuca’s home.

Investigators believe the suspect scaled a fence to gain access to the home and was able to enter through an unlocked door. LAPD Lt. Guy Golan previously told Fox News Digital police believe the suspect was inside the house for about 30 minutes when the victims returned home, and a violent struggle took place. Kaye and Deluca died of their injuries, and the suspect fled on foot.

Following the murders, Encino residents gathered at a town hall meeting on July 21 to discuss concerns over rising crime in the area.

“This murder could have been avoided,” Heather Michaels from the Encino Neighborhood Council said, according to Fox11. “The community feels unsafe. They are frightened. A lot of the elderly don’t even want to come out of their homes.”

Kaye and DeLuca attended another neighborhood safety meeting the night before they were killed, according to NBC4 Los Angeles.

“I had a chance to connect with Robin and Tom, sitting at the same table, for about two hours,” Capt. Mike Bland admitted during a July 21 safety meeting, according to the outlet. At the second meeting, which occurred after Kaye and DeLuca were murdered, officers promised to increase patrolling in Encino-area neighborhoods.

  • Kyle Chrisley sues Tennessee county and police for $1.7M, claims false arrest and excessive force

    [ad_1]

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!

Kyle Chrisley and his wife, Ashleigh, are suing Rutherford County and two sheriff deputies for $1.7 million over his aggravated assault arrest in September 2024.

In court documents obtained by Fox News Digital, attorneys for the Chrisleys claim the couple were “terrorized in their own home” the afternoon of Sept. 9, 2024, and then “punished for calling for help.”

According to the lawsuit, a “disgruntled mechanic, angry over a payment dispute, showed up uninvited, kicked at their doors, threatened violence, and used his car as a weapon by ramming their SUV and nearly running Kyle over in front of multiple neighbors.”

Kyle and the mechanic – who had done work on the Chrisleys’ car and was allegedly paid in full – got into a physical altercation outside their home in Tennessee over a monetary dispute.

The “Chrisley Knows Best” star allegedly “shoved back in self-defense and the two men pushed each other out of the garage and down the driveway,” the lawsuit states.

Ashleigh, who was “fearing for her family’s safety,” called the police after the mechanic allegedly “intentionally reversed into [her] parked SUV, smashing and damaging her vehicle” and “performed two 360-degree spins while flinging topsoil into the air, and sped away toward the neighborhood exit.”

The mechanic allegedly returned to the neighborhood shortly thereafter and continued to terrorize the Chrisleys, with neighbors looking on.

According to a neighbor’s security camera footage, the mechanic yelled, “Kyle, come get in front of my car so I can run your b—- ass over.”

Once police arrived, the disgruntled mechanic allegedly claimed that Kyle “stabbed him with a knife.” A neighbor claimed they did not see a weapon of any sort.

Kyle “denied the allegation, explaining Moore was the aggressor, had trespassed, frightened his family, threatened to kill him, initiated physical contact, rammed the SUV, and returned attempting to run him over.”

TODD CHRISLEY ADMITS HE REFUSED TO WORK DURING HIS PRISON STINT WHILE WIFE JULIE DID HARD TIME

“When deputies from the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office arrived, they didn’t arrest the man who caused the chaos,” the lawsuit states. “Instead, they arrested Kyle Chrisley, and ignored clear evidence that he was the victim, not the aggressor. Deputies disregarded eyewitnesses, overlooked available video footage, and ignored Tennessee’s self-defense law.”

When Kyle’s wife pulled out her phone to begin recording the authorities’ behavior, she was allegedly “threatened with arrest and ordered to
    stop.”

Authorities allegedly “threw Chrisley to the ground, placed knees on his back, and handcuffed him despite the fact that Chrisley used no force against the
officers and did not otherwise resist,” the lawsuit states.

According to the Chrisleys’ filing, they decided to “bring this lawsuit because no family should face criminal charges or threats of arrest for defending themselves at home or for exercising their constitutional rights. This is a case about false arrest, excessive force, and retaliation for trying to hold police officers accountable.”

“Our hopes for this lawsuit are accountability and change because no family should have to endure what the Chrisley family endured in this terrifying scenario,” Kyle’s lawyer, Wesley Clark of Brazil Clark, PLLC, said in a statement to Fox News Digital.
