    One person was killed in a crash on southbound Interstate 35W, north of Texas Motor Speedway on Sunday afternoon, police said.

    First responders with multiple agencies including Argyle, Justin and Northlake police departments and Denton County Emergency Services Districts 1 and 2 responded about 11:30 a.m. to a major crash on southbound I-35W just south of Farm Road 407.

    Drivers were asked to avoid the southbound lanes of I-35W for about two hours, with traffic diverted onto FM 407, Argyle police said in a social media post about 2 p.m.

    The person killed will be identified by the medical examiner’s office.

    Police have not shared further details about what led to the crash and how many vehicles were involved.

    Two people were killed in a wrong-way crash with a suspected drunk driver in south Fort Worth early Saturday, police said.

    Officers were called to Interstate 35W at Garden Acres Drive shortly after 2 a.m. A car traveling south in the northbound lanes hit another vehicle, killing two of the occupants, according to police. Both died at the scene.

    Axel Perez, 18, was arrested and faces a charge of intoxicated manslaughter with a vehicle, according to police records. The Tarrant County Medical Examiner will publicly identify the two people who died.
