    Hyundai IONIQ 5 N wins 2024 World Performance Car Award

    Hyundai Motor Company continued its winning streak at the World Car Awards with the IONIQ 5 N high-performance electric vehicle (EV) named the 2024 World Performance Car. This is Hyundai IONIQ 5 lineup’s fourth major World Car Awards win in the last three years. This victory solidifies IONIQ 5 N’s position as a frontrunner in the market as it continues to outpace EV rivals with its outstanding high-performance technology.

    World Car Awards announced the winners of this year’s competition at a ceremony during the 2024 New York International Auto Show (NYIAS). Hyundai Motor’s many nominations reflect its growing stature on the global stage and build on its past success at the World Car Awards. The brand’s IONIQ 5 and IONIQ 6 took back-to-back triple victories in 2022 and 2023 in the World Car, World Electric Vehicle and World Car Design categories.

    Introduced in July 2023 as Hyundai N’s first EV, IONIQ 5 N represents a new segment of driver-focused high-performance EVs through new technologies and elevated racetrack capability, signaling the first step in N’s electrification strategy. It combines the standard IONIQ 5’s Electric Global Modular Platform (E-GMP) with N’s motorsport-bred technologies and leverages N’s expertise from electrified ‘Rolling Labs’ to maximize the EV’s high-performance capabilities. IONIQ 5 N has been widely praised in the media as ‘groundbreaking’, a ‘game-changer’, and the ‘benchmark’ for high-performance EVs. IONIQ 5 N also won Top Gear’s 2023 Car of the Year Award and set the fastest electric SUV lap time at the Nürburgring Nordschleife by Germany’s ‘Sport Auto’.

    Hyundai Motor earns iF Design Awards for 10th straight year

    For the 10th year in a row, Hyundai Motor Company has been awarded iF Design Award honors, this time for the brand’s IONIQ 5 N and all-new SANTA FE in the Product category, and the SANTA FE XRT Concept vehicle in the Professional Concepts class. The company also won several other iF Design Awards across a range of categories. 

    Winning multiple iF Design Awards further demonstrates Hyundai Motor’s design and technology excellence and raises its profile as an innovation leader. Achieving top honors across the world’s most respected design awards, as Hyundai has in recent years, proves its global design competitiveness.

The company’s first heritage campaign, Hyundai Heritage: PONY Exhibition, and associated initiatives were also honored in the Communication category.

    The iF Design Awards were founded in 1954 by iF International Forum Design GmbH in Hanover, one of the world’s leading independent design institutions.     Hyundai IONIQ 5 N named a top three finalist for the 2024 World Car Awards 

    Hyundai Motor Company’s IONIQ 5 N is among the Top Three in the World finalists for the 2024 World Performance Car. 

    The World Car Awards announced the Top Three in the World finalists for this year’s competition at a ceremony during the Geneva International Motor Show. The World Car Awards is an annual event that involves more than 100 international jurors as they test-drive and vote on a field of eligible vehicles.  

    Hyundai Motor’s nominations for this year’s competition reflect the company’s growing stature on the global stage and build on its past success at the World Car Awards. Previously, Hyundai Motor’s IONIQ 5 and IONIQ 6 were back-to-back triple winners of the 2022 and 2023 World Car of the Year, World Electric Vehicle, and World Car Design of the Year, respectively.
