    The Ioniq 5 is fully loaded with safety and driving assist features. It has secured a 5-star safety rating for both adult and child occupant protection in the Euro NCAP (European New Car Assessment Programme) Crash Test. It is built on the all-new Hyundai EV-dedicated E-GMP (Electric Global Modular Platform) Platform. Safety features include ADAS Level 2 with 21 features including Forward collision – avoidance assist – junction turning (FCA-JT), 7 airbags, a Digital Centre Mirror (DCM), an advanced head-up display, Blind Spot Detection, 360 Degree Camera, Front-Rear Sensors, ABS with EBD, Hill Hold, Electronic Parking Brake, and more. In the Global market, the Hyundai Ioniq 5 also comes with a Digital Side Mirror (DSM) for a wider view.

    Electric Motor and Battery Range

    The Ioniq 5 comes with two motor setups in All Wheel Drive Version while the rear wheel drive variant is powered by a single Motor. This post is dedicated to the RWD variant. The RWD variant gets power through a Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor placed at the rear axle. It produces 215 bhp of power and 350 Nm of torque. As per company data, it takes only 7.6 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 100kmph speed.

    It sports a 72.6 kWh, Lithium Ion Battery Placed Under the Floor Pan and regenerative braking technology. It also comes with fast charging support and the company claims Ioniq 5  can be charged from 10% to 80% in just 18 minutes. The company offers an 8-year warranty on its battery and motor (varies from country to country). Hyundai also provides 2 home chargers of 2.8 kW and 11 kW complimentary. The company claims a 631Km Range on a single charge. The company offers various service packages as per customer choice on Ioniq 5. However, it comes with  3 3-year/unlimited km vehicle warranty and 8 years/1 60 000 km Battery warranty as standard.

    Hyundai is popular for its features and the Ioniq 5 is one of the most feature-rich Vehicles in their lineup. It comes with a unique V2L feature (Vehicle to Load) for both outside and inside usage. There is an onboard socket at the backseat which powers your electric gadgets. For outside, the company provides a converter that plugs into the bidirectional exterior socket to power your electronic gadgets. It features two integrated displays a 12.25inch full-touch infotainment screen and a 12.25” digital cluster. It offers seamless connectivity, as it offers wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The digital Instrument Cluster provides navigation and driving information to the driver. It has Column type shift-by-wire control behind the steering wheel.

    The company has also given relaxed seats for drivers and front co-passengers with calf support, and electric adjustment. The rear seat also comes with an electric adjustment. Ioniq 5 comes with Front Ventilated Seats with Cool and heated functions. In comparison, the rear seats have only a heat function. It sports a 12V power outlet, 2 USB chargers in the front and 2 USB charging ports at the rear. Wireless Charging is also present with a cooling function to prevent the smartphone from overheating.

    It also has Hands free smart power tailgate with height adjustment, 360-degree camera, Smart Cruise Control, ADAS Level 2 with 21 features, a BOSE premium sound system, automatic dual-zone air-conditioning, pillar rear AC vents, 57 litres of additional cargo space, Heated outside mirrors and advanced heads up display. The Hyundai Ioniq 5 comes with a large Vision Moon roof. It also comes with Bluelink Connect Car technology features including remote AC on, start/stop, Voice Alerts,  Remote operation by Alexa, remote charging control and more.

    Hyundai Motor Company continued its winning streak at the World Car Awards with the IONIQ 5 N high-performance electric vehicle (EV) named the 2024 World Performance Car. This is Hyundai IONIQ 5 lineup’s fourth major World Car Awards win in the last three years. This victory solidifies IONIQ 5 N’s position as a frontrunner in the market as it continues to outpace EV rivals with its outstanding high-performance technology.

    World Car Awards announced the winners of this year’s competition at a ceremony during the 2024 New York International Auto Show (NYIAS).
