Destination by Hyatt Residences Move to Homes and Hideaways Platform

As of February 20, 2024, Hyatt has moved most of the Destination by Hyatt Residences to the recently added vacation rental platform, Homes & Hideaways by World of Hyatt.

Along with this move, there’s also a massive devaluation for those looking to redeem points at these properties. While you could routinely get a value of around 2.5 cents per points, it now drops to a fixed value of 1.2 cents per World of Hyatt point. That’s the same as other properties on Homes & Hideaways by World of Hyatt.

Hyatt confirmed this move to some customers who already have stays booked at the affected properties:

“Any changes or cancellations to existing reservations can be made by contacting the Hyatt Global Care Center at 1.888.848.9496 (or 1.402.952.1131 if outside the US). Modifications on or after February 20, 2024, will need to be cancelled by the Hyatt Global Care Center and rebooked directly with the property as a paid stay and new rates may apply.

Starting February 20, 2024, you can make reservations for stays at most of the residences formerly branded as Destination by Hyatt Residences on Homes & Hideaway on Hyatt where you can earn and redeem points for stays at a collection of private homes, villas, and condos in Vail, Snowmass, Hawaii, and more.”

  • Homes & Hideaways by World of Hyatt, New Home Rental Bookings Now Live

Homes & Hideaways by World of Hyatt, New Home Rental Bookings Now Live

    [ad_1]

Homes & Hideaways by World of Hyatt

🔃 Update: Now live at hyatt-homes-and-hideaways.com. You can book properties in six states. It doesn’t seem like a great redemption option at least for now. You’ll get a value of about 1.2 cents per World of Hyatt point.

📰 Original article: Hyatt Hotels today announced plans for a new short-term vacation rental platform, Homes & Hideaways by World of Hyatt, that will feature private homes and remote hideaways in the United States.

When the offering launches, which is expected in the coming weeks, World of Hyatt members will have direct booking access to a collection of short-term private home rentals from beachfront escapes to mountainside ski chalets. World of Hyatt members will have the option to earn and redeem points beyond the traditional hotel stay.

The planned launch of Homes & Hideaways by World of Hyatt reinforces Hyatt’s focus on the premium vacation rentals segment across the United States, with plans to grow the platform globally.

“We are committed to evolving access to the type of accommodations World of Hyatt members are seeking that go beyond our hotels – from a large family who travels together or guests looking to work from anywhere for an extended period of time,” said Hyatt’s senior vice president Amy Weinberg in a statement. “Homes & Hideaways by World of Hyatt brings a unique collection of curated homes which increases Hyatt’s home offerings and expands new ways and new places where we can extend care to members.”

Leading up to the launch of Homes & Hideaways by World of Hyatt, Hyatt will work with Lowe, which will purchase and operate through an affiliate the existing vacation rental management business that is currently branded Destination Residences Management.  In 2018, Lowe sold its hospitality affiliate, Two Roads Hospitality, to Hyatt.

The 2018 sale included the Destination Residential Management business that Lowe had built starting in the early 1970s, and is now re-acquiring, as one component of the significantly larger business it sold to Hyatt.

The business consists of management agreements for individually-owned resort residences across 36 properties in Colorado and Hawaii, as well as many of the properties’ homeowners associations (HOAs). Lowe’s hospitality management subsidiary, CoralTree Hospitality Group, will assume management of the rental units, HOAs and resort properties included in the transaction. The management business, currently known as Destination Residential Management, will be rebranded by Lowe and CoralTree.

In the near future, the Homes & Hideaways by World of Hyatt platform is expected to feature key existing DRM properties in top U.S. leisure destinations as part of offering members direct booking access to a collection of private homes featuring beachfront escapes, mountainside ski chalets, expansive villas, country chateaus, cozy cottages, modern townhouses, apartments, flats, penthouses and much more.

In the coming weeks, World of Hyatt members can benefit when they book their remote hideaway or hidden urban gem on the Homes & Hideaways by World of Hyatt platform. Homes & Hideaways by World of Hyatt member benefits will include earning points and tier-qualifying night credits on stays, as well as standard tier bonuses, and the ability to redeem points for stays at home rental properties.
