Furious Loose Women star blasts Phillip Schofield in no-holds-barred rant: “I’m really really cross”

Loose Women legend Nadia Sawalha has launched a no-holds-barred attack on Phillip Schofield as the fallout from his Cast Away documentary continues.

Last week, Phillip’s Channel 5 series aired over three nights, and since then the headlines have kept on coming. In the documentary he spoke about his ITV exit and the people he calls the “three [bleeps] of showbiz”.

Since then, it’s been claimed that he blames Holly Willoughby for his TV exit. As well as that, reports emerged claiming that, as they came to the end of their time working together, he nicknamed his This Morning co-host “the witch“.

Loose Women star Nadia Sawalha weighs in on Phillip and Holly ‘feud’

Now, despite admitting that she doesn’t really know Holly or Phillip, Loose Women star Nadia Sawalha has waded in. Speaking to The Sun, Nadia admitted she was more than happy to share her thoughts on the one-time TV couple’s feud. And it seems she’s very much Team Holly.

After recently criticising his televised redemption effort as “cringey”, Nadia said Phillip blaming Holly for his TV axe left her feeling “very cross”.

She said: “I’m very happy to answer this, in that I get really, really cross with the world when women always, so often, are blamed. I mean, I don’t know Holly and I don’t know Phil, I’ve sort of nodded at them going down the corridor. But I think just she’s had a really tough time.

“And I really take umbrage with people saying that she’s the problem here. So I feel really strongly about that.”

‘It’s nearly always the woman that’s blamed’

Nadia then added: “Obviously, I don’t know the ins and outs, but I know enough times when you look at things that have happened in the public, it’s nearly always the woman that’s blamed. She’s had a horrendous year. So yeah, that made me cross.”

Earlier this week, one source claimed: “Phil always took the credit for Holly’s success. And boy did he like to tell people that, including Holly. She, of course, knew he orchestrated the opportunity and was always very grateful. But it was thrown in her face quite a lot.”

  • Holly Willoughby shares defiant personal statement as Phillip Schofield takes ‘swipe’

Holly Willoughby shares defiant personal statement as Phillip Schofield takes ‘swipe’

Holly Willoughby has broken her silence with a personal statement as the first trailers drop for Phillip Schofield: Cast Away.

The former This Morning besties are no longer on speaking terms following his affair with a “much younger” male colleague.

And, amid claims that Phillip takes a ‘dig’ at Holly during his new Channel 5 show, the blonde presenter has posted on social media with an upload that has seen her inundated with support.

In clips from Cast Away seen by The Sun, Phillip appears to take aim at his former This Morning co-host.

Although Holly is never mentioned by name, he hints at a lack of support from his colleagues, and appears to make a dig about Holly’s infamous “are you okay?” This Morning speech.

“I miss parts of being on TV, certainly. I miss most of it, if I’m honest, I miss most of it. But there are bits that I really, really, really don’t miss. You learn a lot about people, I don’t miss that. When you throw someone under a bus, you’ve got to have a really bloody good reason to do it,” he says in the documentary.

    ‘I’m okay. Are you okay?’

Elsewhere, Phillip and his family are reportedly seen having a BBQ in the garden of his London home. The TV presenter is seen handing plates of food to Steph, Molly and Ruby.

As he does so, he appears to mock ex-pal Holly Willoughby‘s infamous This Morning statement, where she asked viewers: “First of all, are you okay?”

Well done Holly. Your smile is starting to glow again.

According to the paper, Phillip laughs as he says: “If you’re okay, then we’re okay, and I’m okay. Are you okay?”

Now, after the first previews of the show dropped, Holly has posted on her socials.

    Holly shares personal statement

Shrugging off the Phillip drama, Holly was seen in a nude mini dress celebrating the third birthday of her Wylde Moon lifestyle brand.

Beaming in two pictures, Holly added a personal message to the post: “Just wanted to say a huge thank you for having been such a special part of our journey. Here’s to more years of connection and beautiful moments ahead.”

The star was inundated with support, with the comments section flooded with responses.

“Lovely to see you Holly, looking great,” said one. “Well done Holly. Your smile is starting to glow again,” said another.

“Aww u look gorgeous Holly. So good to see your face, you are so missed. Please return to TV soon,” said a third.

“It’s nice to see you a bit happier now Holly,” another also added.

Whether she’ll be looking as happy when the show airs next week remains to be seen…

  • Bodycam footage shows moment Gavin Plumb was arrested: “I’m not gonna lie, Holly is a fantasy of mine”

Bodycam footage shows moment Gavin Plumb was arrested: “I’m not gonna lie, Holly is a fantasy of mine”

The man accused of plotting to kidnap Holly Willoughby was back in court today (June 28), taking to the stand for the first time at Chelmsford Crown Court.

Gavin Plumb, from Harlow, Essex, told the court that Holly was his “celebrity crush”. As well as that, he claimed that he has “no ill feelings for her whatsoever”.

Plumb, 37, is charged with soliciting a man to commit murder, incitement to kidnap and incitement to rape. He denies all charges.

Holly Willoughby kidnap latest: Suspect takes the stand

Earlier this week, the court was shown Plumb’s “restraint kit” – allegedly set to be used to kidnap, rape and kill the former This Morning host.

Vile internet searches allegedly made by Plumb – including ones about rape – were also shared with the court.

Insisting his alleged plot – which involved recruiting a man from the States to help him – was nothing more than a “fantasy”, Plumb was reminded by prosecutor Alison Morgan KC that Holly is a “real person”.

He then told the court: “I have no ill feelings for her whatsoever. I completely regret this chat [with an undercover officer using the pseudonym David Nelson]. I am absolutely disgusted that it came out, it was meant to be a private chat between two people.”

    ‘Heartbroken it came out’

Ms Morgan said: “I am teasing out an apology from you, Mr Plumb.” Plumb said: “An apology for having a fantasy?”

Ms Morgan then asked if he isn’t sorry for his messages about Holly. Seemingly refusing to apologise, Plumb said: “I am heartbroken and disgusted it came out.”

Holly Willoughby kidnap: Bodycam footage shared

Footage of the moment Plumb was arrested has also been released by Essex Police.

Police bodycam footage revealed Plumb was shirtless when officers forced open his front door on October 4 last year. A police officer handcuffed him within moments of them entering.

In the footage, played to jurors in court today, the defendant exclaimed: “What are you talking about? Please explain to me what the hell is going on.”

Told he was under arrest on suspicion of conspiracy to kidnap, Plumb asked: “Who?” He was told it was Holly. He then asked: “Okay, where’s that from?” Plumb was then told by an officer: “That will be explained to you in custody.”

Later, while in custody, he stated to officers: “I’m not gonna lie, she is a fantasy of mine.”

    Holly’s exit from This Morning

Holly quit her job on This Morning and stepped out of the spotlight after the alleged plot came to light.

She said that she was doing so for the safety of her young family. The star hasn’t commented on the case and is thought to be overseas filming her new Netflix show Bear Hunt.

  • Why Stephen Mulhern refused to replace Ant McPartlin on I’m A Celebrity

Why Stephen Mulhern refused to replace Ant McPartlin on I’m A Celebrity

Stephen Mulhern has shared the reason he didn’t replace Ant McPartlin on I’m A Celebrity.

Ant and best mate Dec have been at the helm of the ITV show right from the very start. In 2018 though, Ant pulled out to focus on his health and head to rehab. As a result, Holly Willoughby was brought in to fill in for Ant, alongside Dec.

But it turns out Stephen Mulhern was the hot favourite to replace Ant on I’m A Celeb. However, according to Stephen, he didn’t want the gig, insisting the show “couldn’t have gone” with another man to co-host with Dec.

Stephen Mulhern on why he didn’t appear on I’m A Celeb

When Ant had to step away from I’m A Celeb hosting duties, speciation was rife as to why could fill in for him. The gig went to Holly – despite Stephen Mulhern at the time being tipped to take the role.

But during an interview from 2019, Stephen shared how never could have hosted the ITV show. According to Stephen, he claimed bosses simply “couldn’t have gone with another guy”.

Holly and Dec on I'm A Celeb

Stephen Mulhern says Holly was ‘best choice’ for I’m A Celeb

Speaking about Holly presenting on I’m A Celeb, Stephen told The Sun: “It was the best possible choice, you couldn’t have gone with another guy.”

It had to be a female host and Holly was perfect.

Stephen, who is on screens on Saturday (May 4) for ITV’s In For a Penny, added: “It had to be a female host and Holly was perfect. Holly and Dec worked a treat.”

What’s more, around the same time, Stephen stepped in to co-host Saturday Night Takeaway with Dec. And while fans loved the Dec and Stephen partnership, for Stephen there is no way he could replace Ant.

Stephen added to the publication: “When we were in Florida for Takeaway last year there was talk about me doing a lot more stuff on the show. But you can’t replace Ant. I’m not going to step into a friend’s shoes. I couldn’t do as well as him and I’m just pleased he’s back.”

Stephen Mulhern on Ant and Dec

Stephen has previously praised Ant and Dec and the friendship he shares with the Geordie lads. And if Stephen needs any support, Ant and Dec are more than happy to help.

Speaking to OK!, he gushed over his friendship with the boys recently. He said: “Ant and Dec and I have known each other for 26 years.” Reminiscing on the past, Stephen went on: “I was doing CITV and they were doing SM: TV Live and we would cross over and do things together but also, where I live, I can walk to the boy’s houses in five minutes.”

He then added: “Our friendship off-screen is just as wonderful as on-screen, we support each other, we’re there for each other.”

In For A Penny airs on Saturday (May 4) from 6:00pm on ITV.

  • Dancing On Ice in ‘harsh’ double elimination as Lou Sanders and Roxy Shahidi exit: ‘What a brutal way to go out’

Dancing On Ice in ‘harsh’ double elimination as Lou Sanders and Roxy Shahidi exit: ‘What a brutal way to go out’

Dancing On Ice tonight (February 11) culminated in a double eviction, with hosts Holly Willoughby and Stephen Mulhern waving goodbye to not one but two skating stars.

It was an eventful night, with new judge Johnny Weir replacing Ashley Banjo on the Ice Panel. Elsewhere, Ryan Thomas hit the ice not once but twice, promoting Holly to ask: “Are you hurt?”

At the end of the show, it was revealed that the lowest-scoring couple – after the judges’ scores and viewers’ votes were combined – would be going straight home. Then, the next two lowest couples would be forced to endure the skate-off.

So this meant two couples left Dancing On Ice

Who left Dancing On Ice tonight?

Going straight home tonight was Emmerdale star Roxy Shahidi and her skating partner Sylvain Longchambon. Holly asked her: “Roxy darling, would you come over here? I’m so so sorry, it’s such a brutal way to go out.” “It is brutal,” she said. “I was looking forward to doing my save me skate.” “I’m so sorry,” said Holly.

Next, Lou Sanders and Ricky Norwood were forced to endure the dreaded skate-off.

Then, after the celebs had done all they could do, it was time for the Ice Panel to cast their votes.

Johnny Weir decided to save Ricky. Oti Mabuse decided to save Ricky. Next up it was time for Torvill and Dean. Jane sent home Lou, while Chris decided to eliminate Lou.

    Viewers react

Dancing On Ice fans watching at home were quick to react to the double elimination.

Many said it was “harsh” that Roxy didn’t get the chance to skate-off. Others said that Lou was “robbed”. “Nah I’m gutted for Lou,” said one. “Poor Roxy, what a brutal way to go out,” said another. “I’m not happy,” said another. “Justice for Lou!” bellowed another.

“I’m tired of the women getting screwed over on this show,” said another, echoing the thoughts of many others as they noted that there’s a lot more male celebrities left on the show than women. Another added: “Two women left and five men.”

A third commented: “It doesn’t really promote the sport to women does it when they’re constantly under marked, told that it’s more impressive when a man skates and then gets voted out first.” “They’ve now sent four women home in a row,” said another.

  • Lorraine Kelly addresses Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby’s This Morning exits as she admits she ‘misses them’

Lorraine Kelly addresses Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby’s This Morning exits as she admits she ‘misses them’

Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby both stepped down from This Morning last year after hosting the show together for over a decade.

Phil left ITV completely in May 2023 after admitting to having an “unwise but not illegal” affair with a younger male colleague. In October, Holly decided to step away from the show following all the drama. She then took a three-month TV break to be with her family.

Now, their former ITV daytime colleague Lorraine Kelly has weighed in on their exits as she admitted she misses them.

Both Phil and Holly left This Morning last year (Credit: ITV)

Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby news

Speaking to Woman & Home in a new interview, Lorraine said: “If you’d told me at the start of [last] year that Holly [Willoughby] and Phil [Schofield] wouldn’t be [on This Morning], I wouldn’t have believed you. But you know what? The show will continue. She’ll be fine. He’ll be fine. Eventually. It will all be OK.”

They’re good people. I miss them.

Lorraine, who hosts her morning show before This Morning airs, added: “They’re good people. I miss them. They’re smashing, they made me laugh a lot and every time I was on This Morning as a guest, they were a delight.

“When Rosie and I went on The Cube, Phillip said he’d never laughed so much in his life because we were so hopeless at task one, then got really good.”

Last August, Lorraine opened up about Phil’s exit from TV.

When asked if she had given Holly any advice in the wake of the crisis following Phil’s departure, Lorraine told New magazine at the time: “No, no, honestly, we are so separate.

“And I haven’t been in [at work], for, gosh, you know, that’s the first time I’ve thought about work. But no, we’re just getting on with it. Honestly, I can’t really say any more than that.”

Holly made her return to TV earlier this month for the new series of Dancing On Ice.

    Holly’s return to TV

She now hosts the skating show with Stephen Mulhern. According to reports, Phil ‘snubbed’ Holly’s TV comeback as he adapts to his new “quiet” life.

A source claimed to The Sun: “Phil is still bruised by the whole Holly falling-out and the way it was played out publicly. He still can’t bring himself to watch This Morning and even listening to the theme tune is deeply triggering.

“It would seem unlikely he is avidly tuning in to watch Holly’s return to TV. Phil just wants to move on and live a quiet life away from the spotlight whilst he tries to rebuild.”

And a huge welcome is exactly what Stephen got over on X – formerly known as Twitter.

  • Stephen Mulhern signs on as new Dancing On Ice host as ITV 'tries to convince' Holly Willoughby to stay

Stephen Mulhern signs on as new Dancing On Ice host as ITV 'tries to convince' Holly Willoughby to stay

TV presenter Stephen Mulhern has officially signed on as the new Dancing On Ice presenter for next year, it has been revealed. ITV bosses hope that Stephen will join current host Holly Willoughby, who has yet to confirm her return.

The Sun newspaper ‘confirmed’ that bosses have officially picked Stephen to replace disgraced former host Phillip Schofield.

ITV favourite Stephen Mulhern will host the next series of Dancing On Ice (Credit: ITV/YouTube)

Stephen Mulhern signs up to host Dancing On Ice

A TV insider told The Sun: “Stephen has been the frontrunner to take Phillip’s spot for months but ITV is thrilled to now have him signed and sealed and ready to roll. It means that, whatever happens, they have at least one host for the skate show.”

ITV bosses reportedly hope that Deal Or No Deal host Stephen’s presence will be what it takes for Holly to return to the show.

“Stephen is hugely loved by viewers, is a consummate professional and as an added bonus has worked with Holly for decades – they both started out in telly together,” the tabloid’s source continued.

“Knowing Stephen will be there beside her could be the comfort blanket Holly needs to say yes,” the insider said.

Stephen previously stood in for Phillip in 2022, when the then-Dancing On Ice presenter tested positive for COVID. Going back further, he and Holly both worked together on the children’s entertainment show Ministry Of Mayhem, where they quickly rose to fame as household names.

Holly has taken her leave of the spotlight since her sudden exit from This Morning earlier this year. Telly bosses and viewers alike have been on tenterhooks, wondering whether she would return to Dancing On Ice.

Holly Willoughby seen out and about for the first time following This Morning exit

This follows an increasingly rare public sighting earlier this week. We reported yesterday that Holly had been spotted on Thursday (December 21), looking decidedly chipper.

Pictures obtained by MailOnline showed the presenter out for a walk in South West London.

Holly wore a red jumpsuit and gold heels, paired with a long camel coat. She then reportedly joined her family for a Christmas lunch.

It’s claimed mum Linda, husband Dan Baldwin and a group of friends joined in on the celebrations too. Holly was seen leaving the venue and later walked down the road to a waiting car.

  • Stephen Mulhern “confirmed to host Dancing On Ice” as bosses “try to convince” Holly Willoughby to return

Stephen Mulhern “confirmed to host Dancing On Ice” as bosses “try to convince” Holly Willoughby to return

The 2024 series of Dancing On Ice is due to start in a month and Stephen Mulhern is said to have been ‘confirmed’ as the new host.

The popular Deal or No Deal presenter has been linked with the presenting vacancy that opened up following Phillip Schofield’s departure from ITV for several weeks.

Telly fave Stephen, however, is not expected to front the upcoming series in January on his own.

Furthermore, it’s been claimed DOI bosses are keen on having Holly Willoughby make a telly comeback for the next series, scheduled for January.

Holly left This Morning herself in October – but her future on ITV’s skating reality series has not been confirmed.

Stephen Mulhern previously filled in for Phillp Schofield alongside Holly Willoughby on Dancing On Ice (Credit: ITV)

Stephen Mulhern joins Dancing On Ice 2024?

The Mail reckons Stephen signing up for DOI is a done deal. Last month Stephen, 46, admitted he was in talks for a role on the show.

He insisted at the time “nothing has been agreed”. But Stephen went on: “Would I do it? Do you know something, I think it’d be silly not to do it. But nothing has been fully agreed.”

Now, however, the paper quotes a source as claiming Stephen is on board – but Holly hasn’t yet agreed “formally”.

    ‘Exactly what the series needs’

A source is said to have told MailOnline: “Bosses hope that they can convince her to come back to work in the New Year because they feel that the relationship between her and Stephen is exactly what the series needs.

“The channel is being careful not to put pressure on her decision, although they’re hoping that renegotiating her contract will help to close the deal.

“Time is running out now given photoshoots need to happen. Plus it won’t be long until the show needs to start promoting the new series.”

ED! has approached representatives for Stephen Mulhern, Dancing On Ice and Holly Willoughby for comment on MailOnline’s story.

Steph McGovern’s response to replacing Holly Willoughby on This Morning before Channel 4 axe

Steph McGovern made a touching confession about Holly Willoughby following her exit from This Morning as she addressed replacing the star.

Fans have begged Steph, 41, to replace Holly and present the popular ITV show since Steph’s Packed Lunch was axed this week.

Speaking to the Daily Mail before her Channel 4 show was axed, she revealed that she wasn’t worried about being on TV following Holly’s alleged kidnap plot. She said: “I don’t think I’m as famous as Holly Willoughby. If I’m honest, so I probably won’t ever have that problem.”

The telly personality said that she knows Holly is a “fantastic broadcaster” and wished her well.

Steph said: “I don’t know her – I know she’s a fantastic broadcaster, so I wish her well. I don’t think I’ve actually even met her before.”

She was also asked whether she would consider taking a hosting job on This Morning. Steph added: “I’m very happy at Channel 4, but never say never.”

According to the Mirror, Steph opted to ignore the news as she opened her show today (October 20). She then introduced the show and gave viewers a lowdown on what to expect on Friday’s programme.

    I don’t know her – I know she’s a fantastic broadcaster, so I wish her well.

“Welcome to a very packed lunch Friday at Leeds Dock,” she began in a very positive tone.

Steph’s Packed Lunch will end in December

Steph’s own show will end in December 2023 on Channel 4. The channel released a statement and said it was a very “difficult decision” to make.

The statement read: “With audience habits changing quicker than ever, we have to make difficult decisions about which programmes to invest in to best drive our digital-first strategy. We have decided not to recommission Steph’s Packed Lunch when its existing production contract ends in December 2023.”

A spokesperson told Daily Mail that they’ve had “three fantastic years of producing Steph’s Packed Lunch together” and working with her was brilliant.

British TV Personality Quits Daytime Show Days After Alleged Kidnap Plot

LONDON (AP) — Holly Willoughby, one of Britain’s most high-profile television personalities, announced Tuesday that she is stepping down from her presenting role on the ITV network’s flagship daytime program “This Morning,” days after a man was charged in connection with an alleged plot to kidnap and murder her.

Willoughby, who has been off air since Thursday as a result of the security scare, said on Instagram that she is standing down after 14 years in her role presenting “This Morning,” a magazine program that mixes celebrity interviews and entertainment news with discussions about current affairs.

“I have let ITV know today that after 14 years, I will not be returning to This Morning,” the 42-year old said. “Sadly, however, I now feel I have to make this decision for me and my family.”

ITV, a commercial broadcaster, praised Willoughby and said it looked forward to working with her again in the future.

“Holly has brought her unique brand of warmth, energy, humor and fun to one of the country’s most popular daytime shows, and everyone on the program will miss her enormously,” Kevin Lygo, managing director of media and entertainment at ITV, said.

Her departure follows last Friday’s news that Gavin Plumb, a 36-year-old shopping center security officer, had been arrested over the alleged plot. Plumb is due to appear at a plea hearing at Chelmsford Crown Court, around 40 miles (65 kilometers) east of London, on Nov. 3.

“This Morning” has had a difficult year. Willoughby’s former co-host Phillip Schofield left the show earlier this year after he admitted to having a relationship with a younger male former colleague.
