Perfect Blue 4K Collector’s Edition
Few anime directors are as respected as the legendary Satoshi Kon. While US fans might be best familiar with his television series Paranoia Agent, Kon’s 1997 film Perfect Blue is his best work. It’s getting a fittingly deluxe 4K release that features a 128-page booklet, art cards, lectures from Kon, and much more.
The best films aren’t always a success at the box office, but Ryan Coogler pulled off what many doubted with his wonderful time period vampire movie. Sinners is a poignant examination of race and art while also delivering some great genre action. Michael B. Jordan’s dual performance makes it endlessly rewatchable and worth owning on 4K.
Starring Tim Curry and Susan Sarandon, The Rocky Horror Picture Show is the definition of a cult classic. The 1975 film has never looked so good as in the new 4K release, which comes in a gorgeous SteelBook. The only downside to watching it at home is that you’ll have to pick up any popcorn you throw.
One of the most unorthodox and best Godzilla films ever made is finally available on 4K. The new Shin Godzilla release is gorgeous, features deleted scenes and outtakes, and comes in a stylish SteelBook.
You don’t get much better than Back to the Future. To celebrate the 40th anniversary, all three movies have been remastered on 4K. While there’s a rare collector’s edition (pictured above), there’s also a standard box set to gift friends and family. It also includes a bunch of audition tapes, plus a six-part documentary.
The beloved DreamWorks animated movie made its return earlier this year with a live-action remake. Starring Mason Thames and Gerard Butler, How to Train Your Dragon dazzled just as much with its blend of live-action and CGI as the original film. An easy rewatch and a ton of fun, kids will love to visit the Isle of Berk time and time again.
One of the greatest musical movies ever made, The Sound of Music celebrated its 60th anniversary with a wonderful 4K release. Featuring plenty of bonus features, including a sing-along version, this classic film will have you singing and admiring Julie Andrews’ remarkable performance.
For its 25th anniversary, Ron Howard and Jim Carrey’s How the Grinch Stole Christmas is now available in 4K. A fun movie you’ll want to revisit every holiday season, it features a new retrospective look from Howard and other creatives on the film, plus plenty of other bonus features.
While it’s best if you dig Formula One, anyone can enjoy F1 The Movie. Brad Pitt and Damson Idris are teammates yet rivals in this high-octane racing movie from the director of Top Gun: Maverick. Filled with fun and thrills, this is an instant rewatchable.
The Tom Hanks-narrated docuseries The Americas has received a lovely 4K release. Featuring a gorgeous look at North and South America, the series is beautiful and a reminder of how incredible these two continents are. It’s a great way to show off your television set and to learn while doing so.
One of the most influential medical dramas ever made, Emergency! largely popularized paramedics in American culture. All 122 episodes, plus six television movies, are included in this set, which is sure to keep any fan busy.
It’s no secret that dads love John Wayne, and now his greatest movie performance is available in 4K. The Searchers is the best collaboration between Wayne and John Ford. A thrilling Western movie with stunning cinematography and an inversion of expectations.
Few series are as bingeable as Downton Abbey, which is why you’ll want to own the Ultimate Legacy Collection. This includes all three movies and six seasons of the television show. It also comes with an elegant 52-page book and is a wonderful gift for any fan.
Keira Knightley and Matthew MacFadyen’s Pride & Prejudice is one of the most beloved Jane Austen adaptations. It has stood the test of time for 20 years, and it has now received a beautiful 4K release. Arriving in a book-style case, it features 42 pages of cast and crew excerpts speaking about the film. It’s a superb set.
If you’re shopping for someone who loves a good mystery, then you can’t do better than the 62-disc Murder, She Wrote: The Complete Series Blu-ray set. This features all 12 seasons of the show, plus four television movies that were produced after its run. Angela Lansbury gives an iconic performance, and the show remains entertaining over its entire run.
You can never have enough Jane Austen. My favorite film adaptation of Austen is Ang Lee’s Sense and Sensibility, which is routinely gorgeous throughout. Featuring a stellar cast of Emma Thompson, Hugh Grant, Kate Winslet, and Alan Rickman, the romance drama is one of Lee’s most powerful films. With the right mix of humor and drama, it’s an easy recommendation in the great-looking 30th anniversary set.
Marvel managed to take a ragtag group of B-characters and make one of its best movies. Led by Florence Pugh and Sebastian Stan, Thunderbolts* is fun and surprisingly emotional for a Marvel movie. Its late twist also underscores how big of an impact it will have going forward.
James Gunn’s DC Universe kicked off with the excellent Superman. David Corenswet, Nicholas Hoult, and Rachel Brosnahan give stellar performances as the main trio, and it became an instant hit. Fans won’t have to wait long to see them in Man of Tomorrow, but with the 4K, they can revisit their great performances as much as they want.
Marvel’s first family finally arrived in the MCU in a stylish stand-alone movie. Pedro Pascal and Vanessa Kirby give strong performances in the drama-filled movie, which is already a favorite of comic book fans.
2024’s best superhero media wasn’t a film; it was HBO’s The Penguin. The stellar crime drama featuring Colin Farrell wowed fans as it aired, and it received a 4K release earlier this year. Featuring quite a bit of bonus content, it’s a strong transfer and the best the show has ever looked.
I… am Steve! Jack Black’s performance in A Minecraft Movie led to many memes (Chicken Jockey, anyone?) and a ton of money being generated at the box office. Kids and fans of the game loved the film, and it’s inherently rewatchable with groups due to its goofiness.
Sonic the Hedgehog 3 didn’t come out until late last year, which meant its 4K missed out on being a Christmas present. Fret not, it’s still available and one of the best video game movies ever made, so it’s sure to please Sonic and Jim Carrey fans.
While it wasn’t the year’s best horror movie, Until Dawn was a fun twist on the PlayStation franchise. Featuring an ending that hints at the original game, PlayStation fans will get the most out of David Sandberg’s fun horror film.

Próspero Tequila is one of only four spirits founded by a female celebrity. You might’ve heard of Bruno Mars’ SelvaRey for the first time last year when the singer created nine cocktails recipes using the tropical rum in tandem with the songs off he and Anderson Paak’s “Silk Sonic” album. The single-estate rum distilled in Panama was originally founded in 2014 by Seth Gold, Marc Gold and Robert Herzig but Mars came on as a co-owner shortly after the launch. And, of course, a distinct creative vision for the brand (alongside a bunch of fun new flavors) followed. The white and chocolate rums are the most unique offerings from the line, and also earned the highest scores by the trade publication “The Tasting Panel.”
Kate Hudson & King St. Vodka
When Kate Hudson was hosting a cocktail party for friends, she wanted to whip up a few dirty martinis but wasn’t happy with her vodka options. And when she realized none of them were made by women, she decided to create her own. King St. Vodka is gluten-free, non-GMO, made with alkaline water and distilled seven times and then filtered for purity in Santa Barbara, California. The name comes from Hudson’s former home on King Street in New York City.
George Clooney & Casamigos Blanco Tequila

When they weren’t playing the bloodthirsty vampires on CW that catapulted them into fame during the show’s eight-season run, they were sipping bourbon together to wind down from their long days of shooting. The pair finally launched their own brand this past July with Brother’s Bond, whose first blend is a four-grain bourbon made with corn, rye, wheat and malt.
Adam Levine and Behati Prinsloo & Calirosa Tequila
Power couple Behati Prinsloo and Adam Levine are more than just a Victoria’s Secret model and Maroon 5 frontman, respectively. They’re also avid tequila drinkers, and turned their love for their spirit into what they’ve called their “third baby,” the Calirosa. The pink-tinted tequila is made in Mexico and aged in California wine barrels for a unique distilling process (usually tequila is aged in whiskey or bourbon barrels) that gives off fruity notes.
Cara and Poppy Delevingne Della Vite Prosecco
Cara and Poppy’s Della Vite first launched in the U.K but finally made it to the states with the duo’s first sustainably-produced prosecco this past September. The sisters’ love for Italy was one of the first inspirations behind the blend, which pays homage to the traditional wine-making process in Italy, and comes in two different expressions: Superiore DOCG and Treviso DOC.
Matthew McConaughey & Wild Turkey Longbranch Bourbon
McConaughey spent two years crafting the taste of his new bourbon Longbranch, which honors both the actor’s and master distiller Eddie Russell’s Texas and Kentucky roots. The final product was chosen after the pair tasted their 83rd sample while on a camping trip. The small batch bourbon was refined in Texas mesquite for a subtle hints of smoke, sweetness and spice.
Bob Dylan & Heaven’s Door Whiskey
Beloved folk singer and composer Bob Dylan joined the ranks of celebrity spirits founders in 2018 with Heaven’s Door, referencing one of his biggest hit songs “Knocking on Heaven’s Door.” To date, the brand has three core expressions: Straight Rye Whiskey, Double Barrel Whiskey and Tennessee Straight Bourbon. Plus, the bottles make for a perfect gift for anyone who prefers to deck their bar cart out with pretty bottles. Each bottle features artwork of metal sculptures from Dylan’s art studio Black Buffalo Ironworks.
Kendall Jenner & 818 Tequila
818 Tequila, the spirits brand created by the model and “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” star, sold out brick-and-mortar storefronts within hours of its first initial launch in May. While the celebrity-to-tequila-brand pipeline has sparked debates online, Jenner has pledged to use profits to both benefit the community in Jalisco, Mexico where it’s distilled, in addition to the planet as a whole. She and her team discovered eco-friendly ways to source the agave, using the agave waste and fibers to build sustainable bricks to build homes in the area. 1% of profits will also go towards planet-saving initiatives through 1% For the Planet.
Dwayne Johnson & Teremana Tequila
How about a margarita on the rocks with the Rock? Dwayne Johnson’s small-batch tequila is made by hand in a town in the highlands of Jalisco by a Mexican-owned distillery. Wonder where the name comes from? He explained it all in an Instagram post: “TERA is meant to represent ‘Terre’ which means of the earth and MANA is our powerful Polynesian spirit that guides us. Spirit of the earth. Our goal is to create a tequila that is the best of quality and taste, but done the right way — by hand. Small-batch, hand-crafted tequila from our Teremana blue agave, maturing in the highlands of Jalisco, for everyone to enjoy.”
Jay-Z & Armand de Brignac Champagne
Remember Jay-Z’s infamous feud with Cristal Champagne? In case it doesn’t ring a bell, when asked about his thoughts on all the rappers drinking their Champagne, the company director said he can’t forbid people from buying it. Jay-Z promptly stopped serving it at his 40/40 Club and told his fans to boycott it too. To fill that bubbly void, he invested in and eventually bought Armand de Brignac, AKA Ace of Spades, a French Champagne company.
Nick Jonas & Villa One Tequila
If a trip to Mexico inspires you to drink more tequila, you’re not the only one to have that idea. Villa One Tequila co-founders Nick Jonas and fashion designer John Varvatos decided to create their brand while they were on vacation in Mexico. They source 100% blue weber agave from both the highland and lowland regions of Jalisco, Mexico, and offer silver, reposado and anejo varieties.
Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul & Dos Hombres
Most “Breaking Bad” fans are likely well aware of the bromance that took place between the co-stars off-screen, so it’s no surprise the dos hombres decided to create a mezcal line together. Dos Hombres gave them a way to continue working together after the TV series ended. The artisanal mezcal is made by producers in San Luis del Rio, a small village in a rural area of Oaxaca.
Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt & Miraval Rosé
Though Brangelina is no more, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt will continue producing their prize-winning Château Miraval Rosé wine. The then couple purchased Château Miraval in Provence in 2008 and held their wedding on the estate in August 2014. They decided to keep the winery as an investment for the children, so luckily we can still sip the airy, fruit rosé.
Robert De Niro & VDKA 6100 Vodka
Robert De Niro is a famed vodka enthusiast so it makes sense that the award-winning actor and director created his own brand years before celebrity spirits became such a trend. His attachment to the New Zealand-distilled company is no doubt part of the brand’s success, and the 6100 is the product of dozens of taste tests. This is the perfect drink for martini drinkers, who might be inclined to stir up (not shake!) their own “De Niro Martini,” which the actor used as a jumping off point for his own vodka creation: four ounces of vodka, one ounce of dry vermouth and a lemon twist.

This year, I decided to share wildflower seeds with more neighbors as a holiday gift. I hope to see more yards in our neighborhood filled with blooms and pollinators next spring!

The holidays are often the perfect time to plant wildflower seeds. Make it easy for your friends and neighbors to add wildflowers to their yards and gardens — give them the gift of wildflower seeds. This gift will bring a smile to their faces and make your community a beautiful place.
1. Choose the right wildflower seeds
Learn which wildflowers grow well in your area and buy seeds in bulk. Regional seed mixes are available from flower suppliers like American Meadows. Learn which seeds are native and grow best in your region. Select 4-5 of these seeds to add to your mix.

2. Create the wildflower seed packets
Now, onto the fun part! The next step is filling the seed bags. I used these craft tin tie bags from Amazon. Add ½ to 1 cup sand or vermiculite as filler. Add one teaspoon of each type of seed into the filler. If you purchased a seed mixture, include 4-5 teaspoons in each bag.
3. Download and print the labels for the wildflower seed packets
Once you’ve created the seed packets, including instructions on how to plant and grow the wildflowers is essential. I created a free download to print out and attach to the packets or gift bags.
